It's honestly easier this way, but always keep in mind there is a line to be drawn. And that's why you got Law, Robin, Mako, and so many others that are resentful of the World Government.

Because they didn't even have a choice when they were all forced to grow up so soon, which is why so many of them are stunted to a degree. Even Mako has her own suffering, with how she kept suppressing her own emotions, to the point it made her sick because her body could not handle the strain at all.

Zoro probably has the most "normal" ish upbringing like he went through a lot, but no abuse, no neglect, no world government bs, but something along the lines of what I call Bridge to Terebithia, where you lose your childhood friend so suddenly like that. Because life is random sometimes and it sucks (also the writer's son's friend irl died via lightning strike, but it was tweaked to what happened in the book because it wasn't as realistic so yeah), and it will forever stay with you. So live on.

rabastan and regulus???? im sat please tell me more

i fear i might disappoint since they really are just a pair of silly death eaters. To me they are like a domestic married couple with this subtle hint of "there is something but I can't put my finger on it."

Rabastan hates Bellatrix, in fact, he kind of hates all of the Blacks, that's one portion, another is the weird god/dog complex thing he has going with Rodolphus. So he sees the youngest Black (Regulus) and thinks he can kinda "save" Reg from his family's weird shit (blind leading the blind moment). Regulus, on the other hand, is living a very dull and mundane life, there isn't anything interesting happening, so when Rabastan starts cornering him, pulling him away from family dinners and functions to the protest of Walburga and Narcissa, and eyeing him up and down with weird suspicion. Regulus is like, "Let me see how this goes." They watch each other in meetings. Regulus plays the violin and Rabastan watches him when he should probably be listening to whatever Voldy is saying. Regulus didn't really go out during the War so he would just sit for hours on end watching a clock "soldier's wife" style and write unsent letters until Rabastan came back. The Soldier/Soldier's Wife dynamic is something I like between them.

They never would've said anything about actually loving each other, they just kinda fall into the domestic married dynamic over time, they sleep together, share the same bedroom, eat together, and walk together. Rabastan sits as close as he can to Regulus during meetings and they test the patience of everyone around them together. Both grow to know life with each other in it, and their presence becomes a constant with each other. Rabastan isn't all the big of a fan of change, so he's used to the scorns and glares that his family gives him, but Regulus never gave him such, so in canon, there is a feeling of bitterness and betrayal for the "one who got away" (Regulus when he dies) in canon HP books.

They are more fun in an AU though, Bad Influence/Golden Child who meet each other again after a couple years and become this quiet married couple who ignores all family dinner invites (except Sirius because Regulus is still very much the possessive younger brother) and creeps their neighbors out. They are almost too fancy for Sirius' dinners but a mess with the main family branch dinners. They send Christmas cards in July and odd presents just to see the reaction. Their anniversaries are spent exploring abandoned buildings and nearly getting lost in the woods or flying to Dubai or something.

I'm hiding this for reasons. But I love them most when it's with pre-transition Regulus. For Regulus, there is a struggle with internalized transphobia and sexism. Having a relationship with Rabastan kinda makes Regulus think "I can be normal". It allows him to live the life of a woman Regulus thinks he can be. Obviously, it's a temporary thing for him. But there is an aspect of horror in forced feminization that I kind of indulge in with characters as a trans man with no control over my looks, and it's especially prevalent in Pre T Regulus/Rabastan due to their status as wealthy purebloods and the fandom's portrayal of pureblood society as old and Victorian. It adds a sense of unease in what seems to be a perfectly normal couple.

Pre T Regulus/Rabastan in the middle of war is my favorite little thing. There is misery and there is uneasiness. They are pale, with heavy eyebags, and are like a pair of Victorian ghosts drifting about and ballroom dancing. Their relationship is the only thing keeping them sane from their families.

what's it like playing venom?

oh SO FUN!! i really really love the kind of calculated slower setup gameplay he has where you really have to kinda internalize a lot of different mechanics. getting good at realizing where the balls will go and getting them to their intended location at the right speed and spin is so fucking fun even if im kinda bad at it. hes really unique theres truly nothing like running the ball gambit on someone in the corner . he has the really meaty complicated shit i look for in a character but his gameplan overall is pretty simple so its all about fun optimization and doing really impressive tricks. a fucking blast!!

+ dark angel is the best super in any video game getting 50 meter and just deciding someone is in the corner is so fucking funny every single time to the point i spam it even without like a hit to make sure itll actually hit the person.

you know, honestly, I don't know how john would react. I've read fic where he finds out and gets so pissed that he separates sam and dean and doesn't let them see each other. I've read fic where he has heavy suspicions but the thought is just too much to handle so he pretends he doesn't see what they do. and I fucking love that post that says smth like "what if he encouraged it so they'd fight harder for each other like the soldiers of sparta" or whatever. and the thing is like. john's a fucked up guy who made his kids fucked up too, but he's just self aware enough that catching them undeniably together (making out or having sex or whatever) would probably just be. extremely sobering. he's like. I did this to them. if they lived a more normal life they wouldn't be like this (and he's wrong but that's fine. he doesn't need to know that)

mary is more complicated imo because she doesn't know them. john saw them grew up and knows how close they are. but mary never saw any of that. she didn't see dean climb into baby sam's crib to protect him while they slept. she didn't see sam give dean that hideous amulet because dean was the one who was there for him, and she didn't see dean wear it every single day afterward. she only knows what she sees of them now, and yeah, it is obvious that they're close, but it's different. I think...mary would be deeply sad, at first. she knows enough about what they've been through to understand that they only have each other, have only ever really had each other. and even though she struggles with being a mother to them, I think there's enough of it in her that eventually she would settle on just being glad that they found a little happiness and comfort somewhere. she knows being a hunter fucks you up and destroys everything you love. not to mention that she has like zero authority over them. like what's she gonna do? tell them to stop? it's obvious they've been like this for years and years and who is she to barge in and tell them it's wrong all of a sudden? I'm sure she knows that it's too late to tell them that, and that trying would just erode their trust in her even more than she already has. so...I think she probably just leaves them be. they've all got enough other shit to worry about anyway lol
