i need to talk about the death note jdrama SO BAD. and ive been reposting and replying to stuff but it isnt enough to satisfy me so here I am.

I said in a repost that i like to see the jdrama as it's own independent work of art. it works and its good. it's another death note adaptation at it's core, but i like to see it as more than that.

spoilers ahead

i'd like to get the things i dont like about it out of the way first, so i can brainrot about the rest without hesitation afterward.

i didn't like the whole mello being some haunted possessive doll that had a split personality with near. it was random, odd, and i overall didn't like it very much.

misa's annoying, but she's bearable, i guess.

now, onto the things i like.

the characters are not tied to their originals. they're their own independent characters with different dynamics and it makes the characters easier to connect with. in the original, you weren't supposed to connect with the characters, you're just meant to watch them and immerse yourself, and in the jdrama, you can do both.

light has a backstory this time, and it works. in the original, he didn't have a tragic backstory, and that worked as well, and i did like that, i still do, but i also enjoy what the jdrama did with him. light wanted to be a police officer as a kid, but when his mother was murdered and his father was too focused on catching her killer rather than being there for his kids and being present at her death, light lost all hope in that. he wanted to be better than that. because of this, he becomes emotionally distant from his father and their interactions are awkward. (this also sets up a great scene later but ill get to that in a minute shhhshhhshhh) he's a lot more empathetic and genuinely caring than he was in the original, when he only cared when it was convenient. he has friends, he has hobbies, and it still doesnt take away from him being kira, just because the jdrama sets it up differently.

L is a lot more genuinely rude and abrasive. he's a neat freak and while he doesn't keep all of his original quirks, he develops his own unique ones. he's constantly drinking some plastic pouched liquid that not even the characters know the name of (but for my sanity im assuming its those applesauce pouches) and, semi-similarly to the original, lways has to have his feet up on something. when something gets on his shirt, he has watari change it immediately, into a newly ironed duplicate of what he was just wearing, and he does this in front of people in professional situations without caring whatsoever what that could mean for him. he's less socially inept and a lot more snarky and close with the characters, even jumping in the school showers with light on campus at one point to tell him he thinks he's kira. he's also actively maintaining a close relationship with near and mello nd contacting them regularly.

the scenes still hold up, and so does the plot, and yotsuba arc is much shorter and more captivating. it brought the mystery back to it after back to back rewatches of the original, because i had zero clue who was supposed to be higuchi this time. light comes up with his own independent plans entirely different from the original and misa actually has plot relevance.

speaking of misa, she's okay. she's a lot more ditsy and annoying but her overall absence made up for it. she's a jpop idol this time in a band named ichigo berry (i think) and one of her concerts serves as the location for a major plot point and her relationships with different characters makes for some stellar comedic moments.

one of my favorite scenes is the scene between light and soichiro at the beginning of yotsuba arc. soichiro genuinely thought light was kira and he did miss the development and repercussions original soichiro had from that, but this could be excused by the distance between them. regardless, their distance pays off. light, with no memory of the notebook, begs for his life at his fathers hand (misa isnt present but shes also under surveillance, capable of killing, and aware of the situation and honestly thank god because her presence in the scene would have made it so much less impactful) when it's revealed he isn't kira, light breaks down. soichiro tells him everything, and light apologizes to him, melancholic because of the distance, and what he feels like he's put his father through. he vows to take down kira, vows to eliminate his and pay his father back from the turmoil he was surely feeling. soichiro kneels down and hugs his son, tears streaming down light's face. the music is beautiful and the credits roll, panning out to a view of them hugging on the dirty ground in the distance. it was a great impactful scene that greatly setup their relationship to come.

Now, the question everyone's been waiting for. is the jdrama just as homoerotic, despite the dynamic and character changes?

yes.

and here's a list of all the times that got me to say this

for some reason, light's actor could not keep his eyes on L's face and there was a constant of him just looking L up and down very slowly

when they first meet, not only does he look up and down, (something L visually notices and follows his gaze) he just stares at him. he barely utters a word to him. for a good few minutes and just spends a very long time looking at him very intensely, i could hear careless whispers playing. there is a girl standing kind of in between then and she's just looking back and forth at them and it's very funny

in the same scene L whispers something in his ear and light just slowly fixes his gaze on him yet refuses to turn around

they look at each other, just, a lot. whether they're sneaking glances at one another or full on smiling when their eyes meet, theyre just always looking

the shower scene. light also looks him up and down in this scene. that says enough in it of itself

at the concert scene L not only pulls the "you're my only friend" crap and light just looks completely in awe, but also, at the end, L gets dangerously close to his face, turns around and walks away, smirking, and light collapses to his knees. (im aware theres context but i dont care)

the tennis scene isnt special by any means but it just reeks gay energy somehow and i dont know how to explain it

light takes a bullet for L (however this happens in yotsuba arc) and helps him off the ground after its revealed that theyre both fine

the handcuff scene. i dont care if lights on the verge of tears and desperate that scene was fucking gay okay

THE BLUE SCENE. after L takes down the cameras he sits there and practically begs light to confess, and it feels all too genuine. light seems tempted to give in, to tell him everything, and he appears almost reluctant as he tells him he isn't kira, and L just stares. he tells him "...and then i met you, and for the first time, i became interested in a person." they have a conversation where L reveals how he's going to catch light and light is helpless to stop it, and then they start saying this:

L: from my perspective, you're just a hopeless, stupid murderer. light: L... L: ...and you were my only friend. i wish we could have met some other way.

L then slowly walks past him and then if youve watched the jdrama you know what happens after that

you could say L was annoyed with misa because she was annoying but i see it as jealousy he was jealous guys listen to me im telling the truth

after L's death (im aware hes acting but shhhshhh) light runs over and desperately holds his body close to him, screaming, saying it was all his fault, and holds him close enough to where... yeah

yeah.

Sooooo… miraculous tales of ladybug and cat noir got its season 5 finale 👏…. I have so SO SO many problems with it. Honestly it was one of the worst things I have ever watched.

1. Starting from the beginning of conformation. Adrien and Kagami are still stuck. Dearest GABY decides to initiate his spooky secret plan that he has been apparently cooking up. This plan is a big problem because the only thing that the viewers knew about this plan was about making Adrien and Kagami a couple. So, this is OUT OF NOWHERE.

2. Ok, dreams. Cool, nice, awesome. THAT COME OUT OF NOWHERE!!!!!!!!! Another problem with the dreams is that Adrien dreams of Chat Blanc which he should NOT KNOW OF. Those timelines were destroyed by ladybug??? Without Adrien knowing either!

3. Adrien did not even try to escape…. Plagg suggested ways and nothing… He just gave the ring back. Which was just an excuse for him not to be in the big fight.

Time for Marinette’s POV. She wakes up and runs to go “save” Adrien. Great. Weird but great. Things happen and she becomes Ladybug to find Natalie because “Adrien said she was always nice to him” Natalie is about to freaking die and attempts to kill gabby to free Adrien. Thank you queen. But it fails like always because gabby is scum. Marinette is conveniently in Natalie’s room and watches as gabby de-transforms.

4. HOW CONVENIENT! Anyway it doesn’t matter because this show is built on conveniences. She now knows HM is gabby. SHE SHOULD TELL SOMEBODY!?!?!? RUN MAYBE AND TELL THE WORLD?!?!?!? THEY STILL BELIEVE YOU AT THIS POINT.

She is trapped in the Agreste mansion. Gabby’s plan is in full swing. She de-transforms and Plagg finds her and gives her the ring but then OH NO HM finds her and now knows Marinette is Ladybug.

5. GABBY YOU HAVE THE POWERS OF ALMOST EVERY SINGLE MIRACULOUS! STING HER YOU CAN GRAB HER ARM DO IT NOWWWW

I’m going to be real I seriously thought before the finale that Tikki and Plagg couldn’t be unified because that was how the wish was granted… and I thought that because… THAT IS WHAT THEY SHOW IN THE EPISODE DEFLAGRATION WHY WOULDN’T GABBY SUMMON GIMMI INSTEAD OF TRYING TO UNIFY TIKKI AND PLAGG!?!?!???!?! I know why… BECAUSE THAT IS HOW IT WAS BEFORE!!!!!! WHY THE HELL WOULD MASTER FU NOT JUST GIVE MARINETTE BOTH TIKKI AND PLAGG IF SHE CAN JUST USE BOTH HERSELF!?!?

HE COULD HAVE EASILY THOUGHT TO USE SECOND CHANCE IN A TIME LIKE THIS AND NO DONT TELL ME THAT “second chance doesn’t work on ladybug” HE HAS THE KNOWLEDGE THAT SHE IS MARINETTE NOW HE SHOULD’VE SECOND CHANCED BACK TO WHEN HE STARTED HIS PLAN. Gabby starts to break down and Marinette starts to pity him.

She de-transforms in hopes that she will be able to fix things with his help… IT DOESN’T WORK GABBY STINGS HER AND TAKES HER MIRACULOUS. He then asks Tikki and Plagg to reveal themselves and they become ethereal beings.

10. As sick as hell the character designs for the ethereals but IT MAKES NO SENSE. THIS PLOT-LINE HAS NEVER BEEN BROUGHT UP THIS WAS MADE UP ON THE SPOT BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO MAKE MARINETTE BECOME GOD.

Tikki and Plagg kiss?? become Gimmi…

11. … bro… Gimmi. Really. You named the all powerful god of reality of what there once was, is and will be, the wish granting deity, the name Gimmi. Like “Gimmi dat” holy….

Gimmi is cute. Marinette is unfrozen to bear witness to Gabby being stupid. Also Lila is there so…. Gimmi sees into Gabby’s soul or smg and he and Emilie are hugging in the afterlife, I think.

Couple simple questions…

Is this a new reality where Emilie never died and Adrien had both parents? Seems unlikely because the news anchor is telling us the statue for Gabby is being made because he stopped HM which wouldn’t be HM if Gabby had Emilie.

This is most likely a reality where Gabby wished for Natalie to be better and the Emilie we see it actually Amilie. Good, cool, awesome, I’m ok with that, sort of.

So, what was the deal with Adrien, Kagami, and Felix being Senti-monsters thing. That went absolutely nowhere in the season finale. Argos is simply allowed to be a part of the team now… okay… Everything that they have been building up really crashed into the ground. I mean that season’s Ladybug and Chat Noire we’re becoming more like team mates than Ladybug being the leader. But now Adrien doesn’t even get to know anything? Even though this is his whole life we’re talking about? Adrien gets to know nothing and Marinette is god. I was so excited for Adrien to finally see what his father is but no…

In conclusion, this finale was 3/10 would watch again. I might add more later but I doubt my brain can handle any more of this crap. 🦂

ill be discussing various leaks past the read more line, so this is your chance to scroll on by! its my prediction for the DLC(s) for sv!

Alright, so before we get into the leaks lets just make it clear - we know the whole mystery of the disk pokemon. we know heath talked to it, we know the paradox of the past/future pokemon appearing in heaths time, before the time machine was made. for most of this, ill be talking about violet/turo/future mons, for convenience. we know that the third legendary or mythical or something *spoke* to heath, in some way, and made him scribble things in his book. i believe those are instructions for making "the time machine" but he couldnt quite figure it out. some have pointed out discrepancies in the sketches and photos of paradox donphans, and i actually think that might be significant. maybe heath, in his curiosity for the unknown, and creative imagination... thought he saw something unlike anything he had ever seen before... but was it just his imagination? perhaps. maybe it was actually there already, formed from his desires, or maybe it was just a normal donphan that they got a bad picture of. either way, this sparked his curiosity about... what mysterious creatures lie in this dangerous crater. surely something of a treasure (finding your treasure IS a big theme in sv, and we know that researchers went there to find a treasure) perhaps this third legendary relies on your desires, of what you WANT to see... and makes them real. i really do believe it! i mean, with unova being the next in the remake lineup assumedly, is a dream world that crazy of an idea? so then we have the young turo, with his childlike wonder... loving the violet book so much, and imagining what pokemon from the future could be like. imagining such exaggerated features - though the exaggerated features are more noteworthy in the ancient paradox forms (billion year old jigglypuff with fangs? really?) but back to the experience heath had, oftentimes, things that can enter your freaking dreams tend to be all about granting wishes of impossible stuff becoming real, but for a price. i think this legendary has lost its power in some way, and needed the machine that it simply referred to as a time machine to turo... to make his dreams reality. it must be in control of the terastal phenomenon too, no doubt - which is a reality-altering effect. it darkens everything around the pokemon, gives it a hat with a weird little face around the bottom of it... and... agh, this is incomprehensible isnt it? my writing is SO unorganized i need to work on that listen, im gonna leap forward a bit -its a desire based legendary, it brings what you want to be real to the world, but needs human intervention to truly harness its power. theres some great videos ill link at the bottom of the post going further into some speculation on the third legendary - i also think tyranitartube has some alright videos on the whole mystery of it but i said id be talking about the DLCs well, a certain fake leak inspired me. arkhamverse as its own universe is a media where they can afford to shake up the status quo, so its soooo disappointing that the utrh plot thread ended like That, considering that utrh's own ending had to be shitty in order to maintain the status quo (joker still gets to run around doing whatever). like the more i think about it the more apparent it becomes to me just how Freaking badly arkham knight adapted utrh cuz like wow. you ended an amazing franchise like this?

utrh had many conflicts, and a prominent one was an arguement of ethics on why the joker was still permitted to live and run wild in spite of the fact that joker killed him, batman's robin. in a meta sense, its (likely unintentionally) also a commentary and attack on how jason was able to be removed from the status quo yet the status quo of a batman and a robin and a joker kept turning its wheels without him.

but arkhamverse as its seperate universe isnt binded to the status quo, the joker gets to die and it ends with batman being unmasked etc etc etc. and this is one of the biggest reasons why arkham knight is so narratively unsatisfactory bc like... how could this utrh plot thread have ended? theres no joker to kill, so where does jason's story go?

arkhamverse was too married to its conflict with batman and joker, which on its own isnt a bad thing, but then it tried to keep the gas pumping after the joker died. this is why after 3 games (or 2 depending on who you ask) without even a passing acknowledgement of jason todd's existence, arkhamverse suddenly decides to bring jason in bc his canon conveniently exists in the intersection between batman's and joker's canons. adapting death in the family was easy work, hell theres hardly any substance in the original story and its really just a long winded work to stuff a kid in the fridge. so the game does just that. but unlike ditf, utrh is actually trying to say something. it's a story about father and son, about avengeance and revenge, about the morality of killing, etc.

...except now with a dead joker, there is hardly anything to say at all. and so arkham knight as a character narratively does nothing, and his impact on the storyline as a whole is so extremely shallow. he serves to initiate and then pad out the continuation of batman's and joker's conflict, and also other plot conveniences like bringing in a whole militia and all that. but thats really the extent of what he does. just like utrh, jason receives no proper closure in this game.

and whats really annoying is that HE COULDVE!!!! FUCK!!!! arkham knight's (and honestly? the entire franchise's and batman's mythos is general) overarching theme is FEAR, batman relying on fear to intimidate and exist as a vigilante, batman's fear of losing control to the joker inside of him, batman being born from the fear he felt when he lost his parents (and also fear of bats lmfao), his fear and grief from losing jason, etc. AND JASON!!!! jason's torture filled HIM with fear and hatred! and you know what one of the final quotes of the franchise is?

Scarecrow: Without fear, life is meaningless!

and you know what the ending of the franchise, as a closing love letter to batman's mythos, shouldve been an encapsulation of?;

It's without fear, that life can begin

bc like as much as batman's mythos is about fear, it's also about HOPE....

arkhamverse shouldve ended on a note of HOPE, jason's reform into the red hood shouldve been the highlight of the ending, not a barely glanced over sidenote. the fact that jason can continue living without being consumed by the desire to kill bruce is the biggest fuck you the baman could give to the joker, showing that batman as an entity was able to save a boy so far gone, and that jason still has hope for his life and future in spite of all that has been done to him, but instead it just gets glossed over! WHAT THE FUCK!!!! arkham knight was too obsessed with giving batman and joker an extremely epic interactive final finale cutscene (which ngl is so epic lol BUT NOT THE POINT) that it treated it's literal titular character as a side character similar to the likes of gotham's most wanted! WTFFFF.

(and instead of using the full knightfall ending to actually expand on jason's fate or reformation or whatever, we instead go thru 243 hellish riddler trophies to receive an extremely childish oh Ha ha Batman Can Never Die cutscene. like firstly the idea of locking the full ending behind all the riddler trophies is so unbelievably fucked and secondly FUCK UUUUUUU. full knightfall protocol shouldve been the default ending AND THEN 100% completion shouldve been some proper resolution on jason's end AT THE VERY LEAST.)

despite the potential to become something amazing, arkhamverse sadly became not unique in being another batman media that fails to become something phenomenal all due to it not properly acknowledging jason todd as a character and merely using him like a tool for dramatic but ultimately shallow story points. sad!

Author Note : This is the first chapter I havent wrote in a long time but as of us I fell for that metalhead so i hope you enjoy.

Allysa POV

“Billy” Max screams out in a wretched scream.

As I go to pull El back I look up and see the mind flayer ripping through him.

I grab her arm and something shocks me away from her. I fly getting slammed into one of the kiosks.

I see Max and El run towards me and behind them mind flayer starts thrashing around destroying anything in its path. 

After it falls to the ground we all these men in army clothes come running in. 

“Allysa Wake up!” I hear Max scream before everything goes black.

I wake up out of a cold sweat in my room as the same nightmare plays over in my head.

After the Byers moved to California I decided to stay here in Hawkins. I lived in Hawkins my whole life, It was my home. El wanted to stay with me but Owen made it very clear how do you expect a rebellious teen who can't stay out of trouble to raise a child.

I stumble out of my room to look at the clock to see I only have about thirty minutes to make it to school. I run back to my room tripping over my combat boots as I throw on my baggy black ripped jeans with my black sabbath t-shirt. Now putting on my boots I just tripped over and my side bag. I walk over to my nightstand and grab my pill bottle containing my headache medicine. Ever since I got that concussion I've had crazy headaches, Lucky Owen’s team sends me my prescription every month.

I take one of the pills out as I walk to the kitchen to get a glass of water. I grab my keys off the counter and walk over to dad's old lazy boy recliner and grab my jean jacket conveniently covered in doodles by my best friend Eddie “the Freak” Munson, my only consent in this hell forsaken town.  Eddie and I have been friends for years. Growing up on two different sides of the spectrum. The police chief's daughter and him the son of a felon. My dad always tried to keep me away from him, but there was just something about him. He made the whole world stop around me. I can be myself around him. I don't mind the stares or names.

“Keys? Check. Bag? Check.” I say out loud going over my mental list so I dont forget anything. “Jacket? Check Helmet?”

 I went over to the couch to see that it was in the middle of the coffee table surrounded by DnD figures. Remembering Dustin and Mike came over last night to practice for Eddie’s campaign. Now that they are in high school I don't babysit them anymore. I started their obsession. What else I was supposed to do with four middle school boys.

 When Eddie heard I was helping his members in defeating them from his drummer Tyler Buckly. He came right over to him knowing all the tricks to get past my dad's security system. 

The timer on my watch is going off, reminding me I'm late. I look on the couch

see that Eddie forgot his lunch box here last night. 

“He would lose his head if it wasn't attached I swear” I say sarcastically as I grab it.

I walk over to my 1979 Honda CX500 motorcycle. She wasn't the most reliable thing but she got me where I had to go.

I put Eddie’s lunch box in my side pouch on my bike. Got on my bike and put my helmet on and off to school. 

As I pull out onto the main road I hear a police horn and look in my mirror to see im getting pulled over. Eddie’s fucking lunchbox that isnt for a nutrishious meals might I add.

I slow down and pull to the side of the road and park my bike.I take my helmet off.

“Mrs.Hopper please get off the vehicle” He says over the speaker.

“Powell just come out please I have to get to school” I say in an agitated tone.

Powell hops out of his vehicle and slowly and dramatically walks up to her.

“Do you know how fast you were going?” Powell gives a disappointed look.

“The speed limit and I'm late for school Powell please don't start with me” I say rolling my eyes.

“That is Chief Powell you didn't come to get your dads honorary metal”  he says in a sad look.

“To make your ego bigger I dont need a stupid metal” I say annoyed.

“Get to school Hopper and keep your head on straight okay? He says with a hand on my shoulder.

“Whatever” I say as i nudge him away put my helmet off and hoping i wouldn be late.

Eddie’s POV

“Dude how did you lose that?” Tyler says behind me.

Tyler Buckly is just another one of my new sheep. When I put a flier on the bulletin board for auditions for our new drummer. I wasn't expecting nobody to show up but he did. He was the perfect fit to our clan of freaks. 

“I had it here last night before I went to see Allysa” I said out loud in frustration.

“Bro you really went to her house? You got it bad” he said laughing and leaning against my van.

“Speak of the devil here comes her highness now” he said as I hopped out the back to look as Allysa pulled into the parking lot.

I try not to stare as she pulls off her helmet, her red hair flowing down past her shoulders. 

“Munson!” she says my last name as she storms towards me.

“Yes princess?” I say as she stands in front of me. Her face has an angry expression but yet still smiles at my nickname i gave her.

“You forgot something last night and I got pulled over” she says as she throws my lunch box my way. I knew I had it before I went to her place last night. I brought it inside with me knowing she cant resist a smoke session even if she is training my players to defeat me. 

“Why did you get pulled over? Tyler asked, looking at Allysa. “And why was your lunch box at her place?” he then asked, looking at me.

“Just trying to get a new recruit for Hellfire” I smirk and wink at Allysa.

“Never gonna happen Munson” she said as she rolled her eyes “Besides i will just distract you”. As she said that I swear my heart skipped a beat.

“You guys going to the prep rally this morning” Tyler said as he threw the end of his cigarette on the ground.

“Fuck no” Allysa and I said in unison.

“Stop copying me” I said looking at her, she just stuck her tongue out and put her helmet in my van. “ It's okay if I put this in here and get it before Hellfire starts” she ask looking at me. 

“Of course princess” I say and bow, making her giggle.

“Smoke sesh in the usual spot” Tyler says nodding his head towards the woods.

“Is that a question, Buckly?” I said as I closed and locked my van.

We all make our way towards the spot in the middle of the woods Tyler in front of me. I turn to notice Allysa slowly stops keeping up with us. She looks lost in thought. It's not hard to notice she looks tired. I slow down to let her catch up.

“You okay?” i ask her she jumps “Sorry didn't mean to scare you” 

“You're fine just had a bad nightmare again last night” she says with a half smile.

“About the fire? Still can’t believe you were there but hey at least you had that sweet uniform” I say making her laugh.

“Didn't help that i had pigtail braids making me look like Dorthy from Wizard of Oz” she says between giggles. I lend my arm out for her to wrap hers around my mind and I intertwine them and we start to skip.

“We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz” we sing in unison as we go past Tyler.

“You guys are idiots” He says taking a sip of his flask.

I think it would be rlly fun to see maybe Myc and Mothman interact, maybe A.B eventually,, and it leaves a lot of fun room for non-human ocs too!!

u rely on him more, the final trimester hard on you and ur so exhausted and hurting

u two getting the nursery ready together which actually consists of u sitting down rather than actually doing anything

though u will have to teach this boy how to put away bibs and fold baby clothes

u two are young and u both have a lot of explaining to do to your own families, but they are supportive

they r more than happy to teach u two about children and giving tips on these things

both of you two hadn’t really explored in the topic of sex or anything of the sort, it was slightly awkward

you’re five days overdue now, which now you couldn’t even care

he is so cautious about this, but begrudgingly decides to proceed with this idea

he’s so sweet 🥺 but maybe a little too sweet because next thing you know is that two short hours later ur water breaks and u are in labor!!!!

both of you are vv nervous

his hyungs are right there to calm him down, asking you if ur okay and if u need anything

he’s so attached to u 🥺 it hurts to see u in so much pain and he can’t do much to take it away, but he will kiss ur forehead and wipe ur tears away

it’s finally over, you and seungmin both turning to the tiny baby that just came into the world, both of u crying while laughing at the beet red baby

theres your little baby boy in your arms, squirming at the new coldness and trying to move around in the blanket

all of the boys come in, excited to meet the baby

in amazement you made this adorable, small baby after one night

this experience was everything and more to you both, so glad you weren’t as careful one night and now had the greatest gift given to you: your small son who slept soundly in your arms

IM CACKLING LIKE BLS THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PARTS OF THE ENTIRE STAGE PLAY BC HE PLAYS OIKS SO WELL AND IWA IS JUST SO IWA AND I LIVED FOR OIKS’ ‘IWA-CHAN!’ AND IWA’S ‘RAAAAA!’ AND THIS GIF JUST SHOWS SEIJOH BEING SEIJOH AND HOW THEY WOULD REALLY ACT IF THEY WERE REAL LIKE UGH THEY DID SUCH A GOOD JOB W THE CASTING

be warned, this isnt a straight plot or no main focus but just bits and pieces of fluff

as mentioned before, they dont really get to hang out a lot w you outside of practice 

youre either too busy taking care of your schoolwork, catsitting for the aizawa’s, or having you time since youve been busy w the boys all week

but there are times where you do have available time to go hang out with the boys

and they know about your schedule so they try to make memories either during practice or after practice

fortunately, kyo lives at the same street as the aizawa’s so he walks you to their house when you have a job 

but sometimes when you are just walking home, you both stop by the convenience store first and find some cat food cans and dog food cans and water 

it was a complete accident when you both found each other standing at the same aisle, holding the same things, with the same intentions, for the same animals

the alleyway where you first met is basically your second home bc thats where your babies live

since you cant exactly take in 5 dogs and 6 cats in your house, you and kyo are taking care of them in that alleyway where you feed them and build them a little shelter with blankets and stuff

this will be explained more in the next manager!seijoh part

after practice, particularly after a really productive one, the guys like to go to the ramen shop near the school to treat themselves after their hardwork

by now, the old lady who owns the shop knows their order by heart and has it ready when you all enter

yall get settled in but you go over to yahaba and snap his wooden chopsticks for him bc he never snaps them properly and ends up breaking them

meanwhile,,

you gather as much napkins as you can and place them beside kindaichi bc he makes such a mess while he eats and you have stand-by wipes for him

you make a special request to add tofu into iwa’s ramen bc the mans loves tofu so much and he still doesnt understand how the lady seems to know this despite him never telling her

your seat is usually next to mattsun bc he doesnt eat all the side dishes up like the others and you can eat some of it too

fun fact, oikawa actually has two pairs of glasses and he gave you one in case he forgets to wear his main one and leaves it at home

so he gets to school and he just realizes he forgot his glasses and his contacts were still being shipped so he freaks out and texts you about it

before kyo got back to the team, you usually walked home by yourself but makki actually accompanies you when he doesnt have errands to run

you would mention as you walked and you would look to see his eyes light up and walk faster towards the bakery

he turns into a child, a contrast to his chaotic energy in school, and he runs over to the glass where indeed, there was a sale going on for his puffs

while he was staring at what flavor he wanted, youd go to the cashier and give her your card

he nodded and gave it to you so you could place the chopped carrots and onions in it

once the timer was done, he scooped out the eggs and placed them into an ice bowl so he could peel them later

you knew his favorite food was boiled eggs so you wanted to boil some so he could snack on them

‘can you peel one and see if theyre perfectly cooked, wata-san?’

his fingers skillfully rolled the egg on the table before peeling it effortlessly

he hummed as he chewed on the food

‘delicious?’

you asked and he turned to you, cheeks still full but he raised a thumbs up

you grinned and went back to chopping the scallions

‘actually, i didnt need any eggs for the dishes. i wanted you to snack on your favorites as i cook. its like payment for keeping me company’

so basically, we all know his famous haircut, right

but what if that was actually just a style hes had since he was young but he has naturally down hair?

the stuff he puts in it like this brand of gel is just so tough and sturdy that two washes of hair is the only thing that can get rid of it

even during practice when hes sweating the atlantic ocean, it somehow stays up

he puts gel on it and stuff after he showers to make it stick up and BOOM turnip head

but one morning, he,,,, wasnt turnip head

the boy woke up late and he didnt have time to perfect the sticking up so he went to school with his hair down and everything

you were already there since morning practice has started and kunimi told you that kindaichi texted him he would be late so you were just patiently waiting by the door for your classmate

but some guy just walked in

your eyes widened and you pulled their arm

then the words died in your mouth

you stuttered and he placed his hands on his face to hide away

his shout attracted the others and then silence before the laughing and howling started

its just a shame that there are 4 third years in the team that would eventually graduate and go their own separate ways after high school, leaving behind their underclassmen

they could just hope that those memories and special moments would remind them of who you were and how special you were to them since at the prime of their youth, you were their first true love

Recently saw a tiktok that was like "if you ship [toph and zuko] than you have issues or you see something galaxy brained that i havent" and stumbled upon the concept of aroace Zuko and i concocted this idea ages ago so im posting it now: the epic Toph x Zuko Marriage of Convenience 

Okay what you are all thinking of is book 3 Toph and Zuko, which totally dont have romantic chemistry and with the added age difference is prob why no one ever considers this ship. Four years when you're a teenager is a big difference. Four years when you're in your twenties and beyond isnt that big a deal. So they're adults and they've been friends for years at this point.

You also gotta sit back and look at what they are. Toph is the only child to a very rich and very well known Earth Kingdom family. Her family name in general is huge and carries a lot of weight but you also got her own accomplishments: Master Earthbender, the Creator of Metalbending, the Avatar's Earthbending teacher, and shes a war hero. Thats big. And then you got Zuko, who at this point is the Fire Lord. Zuko himself comes from a prominent Fire Nation family, seeing as he's royalty. He's also descended from a Avatar, but i dont think thats all that well known. Zuko is a Master Firebender, the Avatar's Firebending Teacher, and a war hero. On top of being famous both these people have credibility to fall back on.

So what im leaning into here is not exactly a marriage alliance seeing as the Earth Kingdom has its own royalty but its definitely a political move

Anyways Zuko has a lot on his plate, dismantling his dad's empire and all that. When he's nearing 30 the council is all like "you need to find a bride". Zuko writes up his ex-girlfriends and finds out they're either married or he just cant bring himself to trap someone into a marriage with him after knowing how it destroyed his mom. So he's stuck with no one of his own choosing so the council and high up nobles are trying to fix him up and not-so-subtly set him up with their daughters. Half of Team Avatar comes and visits (lets say Toph, Aang, and Sokka) and witness the behind the scenes of all this. They're having tea with Zuko and two people come in at different times and try to casually talk about the marriage thing. Toph can hear things that happen in the hallways too. Zuko is all "noooooooo guys why is this happening to me" and Sokka probably finds it funny but also a little sucky, and Aang probably hates it because "Zuko should marry for love!". And Toph is all "I know right" because she can totally relate. Her parents were looking for matches for her since she was born, and now that shes visiting again they've started back up again. Her and Zuko start swapping match-making stories ("so i come home and this boy and his father are there and my mom is all like 'Toph have you met __'" "I'm in the throne room for a meeting on road construction and this guy derails the whole thing so he can introduce his niece to me"). Later on after Toph has been listening in on the palace for a few days now and shes starting to really feel sorry for Zuko. Sokka just keeps making jokes until Toph snaps at him. Aang is pretty oblivious and probably spends all day at the market looking for souvenirs to bring home for Katara. And one night while Zuko is up late doing paperwork by candle light Toph stops by because her body cant sleep at night sometimes and they get to talking and Toph jokingly throws out "what if we just married each other? Then everyone will get off both our backs!" and they're laughing and after they've calmed down Zuko has a light bulb moment and he's like "wait, that might not be a bad idea". They spend all night working out the details to their hypothetical wedding and a day later decide to actually go through with it. Theres uproar from the council of course because Zuko didnt choose their pick Toph isnt Fire Nation nobility. And then Zuko starts listing all her family's importance and stuff and the council is forced to admit to themselves its not actually a bad idea. Plus marrying Earth Kingdom would make the Fire Lord more relatable to the colonies where theyre having a lot of problems with people of mixed heritage right now. Sokka and Aang hear rumblings of this because palace servants gossip and they're debating wether or not to believe these rumors when they run into Toph and just ask her and shes all like "yeah we're talking about it" and they boys flip out. Aang still maintains that everyone should marry for love but Toph and Zuko won't budge.

Over in the Earth Kingdom Toph's parents are ecstatic because the only better option Toph could marry was Earth Kingdom royalty. They completely endorse it and only argue to not seem like pushovers and when topics revolving money come up (ex. dowery). The Earth King gets in on this because its too good a opportunity to not capitalize on it. The Earth Kingdom is abuzz because a foreign King is marrying one of their own. Everyone is hyped and Team Avatar are the only ones who find the whole situation weird because to them its not a fairytale its their actual friends.

All-in-all they get married in the Fire Nation and the guest list was awful to make but people from all over the world are there. Toph's mother freaks out the whole time because "what if Toph falls down all those steps!" The wedding is mostly all Fire Nation tradition but Toph wears a Earth Kingdom wedding dress because everything is political now. Toph and Zuko have a relatively fun night and Sokka has the time of his life. And their marriage actually really works out for them because they're friends. They make fun of fancy people and rant to each other in the evenings. Toph is still running metal bending schools but either now they have to come to her or she gets stuck with a Fire Nation security team for like 3 months of the year she spends in the Earth Kingdom and she gets flashbacks to her childhood. And Zuko is sometimes all "i miss my wife" and the servants are all "awwww they're so in love" but the truth is he wants to talk sh*t with her and because shes blind he always has to write letters with the interpreter's opinion/gossip in mind. Toph still sneaks out all the time because shes not giving up her independence willy-nilly and is not above pulling the blind card to get out of things, which irritates Zuko sometimes because that means he has to deal with boring meetings by himself. They gaang visits all the time and by the time Republic City rolls around Toph manages to get herself sent as a "ambassador" (her and Sokka have some fun their shared meetings) and then to stay on to help set up the police force, which is a little dicy since shes representing the Fire Nation but also shes teaching only metalbending so its a controversial thing. This also gives Zuko a excuse to visit Republic City more often so he can see everyone since they settled down there.

its so funny seeing all the "white ppl love camping" cuz my family goes almost every summer, and like, its always my dad wanting to go rather than my mom. but my dads back n my moms white n all my friends are like "isnt it supposed to be ur mom wanting to go" :sobs: its so hilarious ghasjkfhgjksla.

i dont really mind camping tbh cuz the grounds we go to has pretty nice bathrooms compared to most and there's a convenience store with wifi and theres like, a mcdonalds a couple minutes away so it isnt too bad tbh, we just sleep in a tent n hang out outside all day

EVERYONE SHUT UP FOR A SECOND BC IM ABOUT TO TALK ABOUT MY OC BC IVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT HER

Okay sorry for yelling- anyway-

A couple things before I actually get into it;

Her name is Shanel (pronounced like the perfume brand) Leon, she is French and born into wealth as an only child. She is an elf (partially because it explains away magic and stuff like that existing in the world, mostly because I like drawing pointy ears) she is largely soft spoken and polite

Okay okay okay!!!!!!!! Ranting time!!!!!!

So for as long as she can remeber shes been inhabited by a demon/spirit made of blue fire, and for many years they're friends! Literally best friends! And the spirit isnt strong enough to fully manifest outside of a small flame (shanel keeps him on a candle for convenience) so her parents think she's talking about an imaginary friend. Up until its able to fully manifest for the first time (around the ages of 7-9, definitely old enough for shanel to remember) and her parents obviously freak out because their daughter is possesed, and first they try to get it exercised out which doesnt work, but then they notice that shanel can kind of control him, hide him away and such. So they tell her that she has to hide him inside herself at all times (especially around other people). But they're not doing it for her or anyone's saftey, they doing it for the sake of their status as aristocrats, because what would the public say if the daughter and heiress of the prestigious Leon estate was possessed by a demon?? So shanel is able keep him hidden away inside her for a few years, but over time he's getting stronger, and harder to suppress and hes getting violent and bitter. And at a certain point, shanel cant keep him down constantly, and she has to be locked in her room for several hours a day, so she can let go of him for a moment without hurting anyone. Eventually the amount of time she can hold him for in a day becomes shorter and harder to maintain, and her parents effectively remove her from society, and anyone who asks where she went is told that she fell chronically I'll (her health was declining to a degree, but not nearly that much.) Shes locked in her room for almost the entire day. Shes like that for years. When the thing takes her over she cant fully know what's happening, she can feel, hear, taste, smell, but she cant see at all, and she has very little if any control of her body. She can focus all her energy into controlling a single limb, but it is extremely difficult, painful, and draining. For a good few years the only time she fully feels in control is when shes asleep with eyes shut tight as possible.

Eventually her parents get tired of having her locked away and sickly from fighting it. And instead of trying to help their daughter, they instead find a man to marry her off to. So they wont have to deal with her anymore. They couldnt care less at this point if it fixes her, they're tired of her. "Luckily", they find a man willing to marry her (they had to pay him, which isnt usually how dowries work but they've gotten desperate). In the coming days to the wedding, its quiet, dormant, building maybe. On the day of the wedding, a servant helps her do her make up and do her hair into a decorative and complex braid, and helps her into her wedding dress. Its white, a fact she finds inappropriate, she doesn't feel pure.

She meets her future husband at the altar. He is tall, some would say handsome, but he dosent smile when he sees her. She smiles. But its incredibly forced. Theres something in his jacket that she cant barely make the outline of, but she has no idea what it is.

As they are about to kiss to finalize the marriage, she blacks out, as she is taken over by the demon. There is screaming, She feels something dense and sturdy enter her hand. She hears a terrible wet ripping, she feels a wet warmth cover her. There is no more screaming. She fights and struggles for control of her arm, it has never been harder.
