I just got to see a cybertruck irl finally and holy shit you weren't kidding! It looks so ridiculous! Like a bad ps1 render! Also that shit is going to be a pile of rust after a utah winter, we salt the hell out of our roads and it definitely didn't have that special coating
Even if they didn't have all the problems, the car is STILL just not appealing! It looks like a child's drawing of a car. It looks futuristic by way of early 90s. It looks like someone got impatient while downloading GTA and just rolled with it. And I don't think its even a TRUCK? I think its technically a hatchback.

Is cyberpunk as good as GTA and can you play around the map without doing missions/story
Sorry just replying to this now! Personally I think Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the best games released in recent memory! Sure it was buggy as hell at first but the patches and DLC has just raised the levels! Yes you can free roam and its not a tiny map either, its hugeeee and so much to explore, easter eggs and nods to movies, games, celebs etc! Honestly if you like free roam, cyberpunk/futuristic games I’d implore you play it! The story line is unique and crazy good, you get attached to your character and interactions + you have fucking Keanu Reeves (aka Johnny fuckin Silverhand) living in your mind on a biochip! Need I say more….. This game has my heart and will continue to replay it over and over and get lost in Night City!

ok but like Iso would be a crap hitman/assassin. if he's out there blasting everyone in the head, how would his employer know who he killed? could have been anybody.
maybe there's some fancy futuristic tech like chips in people's brains that tell you when they're dead idk but from what i've seen if I needed a hit and they give me ISO as the hitman i'm gonna pass. send me agent 47 not this rando who doesn't know its a shot in the gut and a shot in the chest.
clearly nobody at riot has ever played New Vegas, otherwise they'd know you can survive a shot in the head, meaning at least a small percentage of Iso's targets are likely to have survived.
now, if Iso was a sniper, that's different. snipers dgaf about whether or not you can recognise the target most of the time. i think riot just wanted Iso to come off as a badass who never misses a shot !!! rather than someone who's actually good at their job. 47 and any other fictional hitman, like Leon (but we dont talk ab that movie) or even the GTA hitmen, would wipe the fucking floor with Iso.
TL;DR - Iso is a shitty assassin.

GTA 6: Next-Level Gaming or Just Another Sequel? Dive into the Hype!
Tumblr media
The release of GTA 5 was nothing short of a gaming revolution, taking fans on an unforgettable rollercoaster ride through Los Santos. With the GTA series firmly planted at the pinnacle of gaming history, it’s no wonder that the buzz around GTA 6 is electric. The anticipation for this next installment is through the roof, making its release date one of the most sizzling topics in the gaming universe.
But hold onto your controllers, because here’s the latest and greatest rumor: GTA 6 might just be stepping into the realm of Virtual Reality! Yes, you heard that right. Imagine not just playing GTA, but actually stepping into its world, dodging traffic, pulling off heists, and living out those wild missions in full immersive glory. VR compatibility could be the ultimate game-changer, and with tech evolving faster than you can say “wanted level,” this might not be a far-off dream. I apologize for not having dollar rims, chrome paint, and green neons on my Adder. Like any classic car, such an old vehicle should always be outfitted with period-accurate mods. I will do better in the future.
Tumblr media
The Cyclone was my absolute favorite of the electric cars. It looked cool and it was fast enough to be enjoyable, especially when it got up to highway speeds in reverse. Low grip tires only made it even more chaotic and goofy.
Tumblr media
A Penetrator drives into a bar. The bartender asks, "Why the long face?"
Tumblr media
Once it stopped being the poster child of race car power creep, the T20 was a comfortable, if benign, little supercar. It was the first vehicle to have an active spoiler, which is something I wish had been retroactively ported to the game's older cars that would have had one. At least they quickly gained popularity.
Tumblr media
Is it just me, or does the Torero have really tiny rear wheels? I don't remember the Countach looking like a platform cart with a body kit. Still, I was born in the '80s so I was obligated to buy one. It was a decent car that served as another example of the developers' ineptitude, as it was shown in official marketing material with a colorable interior, yet no such feature was available in the game without the use of clever glitches. All you had to do was tick the box to enable it, guys!
Tumblr media
In a humorous parallel to real life, the Toros was an alarmingly quick SUV that was released with a faulty transmission. When driven hard in a particular manner, it was possible for it to get stuck in a high gear until it was manually shifted in and out of reverse. I don't know about you, but I play GTA games to get away from car problems.
Tumblr media
You'd think a McLaren F1 homage would have been a shoo-in for a GTA game, but it took years for the GP1 to make its debut. Sure, there was the Tyrus, but that was a track car and it wasn't the same. I remember the GP1 being quite grippy, as well as for the novelty of having eight exhaust pipes.
Tumblr media
While we never got a true M1, getting an interpretation of its supercar descendant wasn't so bad. The SC1 was a favorite of mine for its futuristic looks and its lovely louvers.
Tumblr media
When the 811 showed up to the party, you knew you were about to have a good time. This curvaceous beauty was derided for its poor track times, but only true believers knew the spirit of the Autobahn dwelled within it. An incredible top speed made it ideal for those long trips to Paleto Bay, and it could even hold its own against "meta" vehicles in stunt races where it had room to stretch its legs. Curb boosting and the low grip speed boost made it even more of an untamable monster that was sure to have its two passengers grinning from ear to ear as they careened into the side of a mountain.
Tumblr media
From a distance, the Tyrant looked like just another supercar. When you got in one and pulled up next to someone at a traffic light, that was when its appeal was made clear: this car was friggin' huge. Seriously, it was like those BMW M8 memes. The Tyrant had almost the same footprint as a Rhino tank. Its performance was nothing special, and it was a pain to customize, but there was something appealing about driving a supercar that was the size of a Super Duty.

Exploring the Immersive World of Motion Simulators
Motion simulators are more than just entertainment devices; they are portals to immersive experiences that defy the boundaries of reality. These technological marvels have revolutionized the way we interact with digital content, offering sensations that blur the lines between fiction and reality. From theme park rides to advanced training simulations, Motion simulator have found applications across various industries, captivating audiences and users worldwide.
Tumblr media
At their core, motion simulators are mechanisms designed to mimic the movements experienced in real-life scenarios. Whether it's the sensation of flying through the sky or navigating treacherous terrain, these systems use a combination of hardware and software to simulate motion in sync with visual and auditory stimuli. The result is a multisensory experience that can transport participants to virtually any environment imaginable.
One of the most common applications of motion simulators is in the realm of entertainment. Theme parks around the world feature rides that use motion simulation technology to create thrilling experiences for visitors. From roller coasters to flight simulators, these attractions leverage the power of motion to immerse riders in heart-pounding adventures. Whether it's the sensation of freefalling from great heights or speeding through a futuristic cityscape, motion simulators add an extra dimension of excitement to theme park attractions.
Beyond entertainment, motion simulators also play a crucial role in training and education. In industries such as aviation, military, and medicine, simulation technology is used to train professionals in realistic scenarios without exposing them to actual risks. Pilots can practice emergency procedures, soldiers can simulate combat situations, and surgeons can hone their skills in virtual operating rooms. By providing a safe and controlled environment for training, motion simulators help professionals develop the expertise they need to excel in high-pressure situations.
The advancements in motion simulation technology have also led to its adoption in fields such as engineering and product design. Engineers can use motion simulators to test the performance of vehicles and machinery under various conditions, allowing them to identify potential issues and optimize designs before manufacturing. Similarly, product designers can use simulation technology to evaluate the ergonomics and usability of consumer products, ensuring that they meet the needs and preferences of end-users.
In addition to their practical applications, motion simulators have also found a niche in the world of virtual reality (VR) gaming. VR motion simulators combine immersive headsets with dynamic motion platforms to create truly lifelike gaming experiences. Whether it's exploring virtual worlds or engaging in intense multiplayer battles, players can feel every twist, turn, and acceleration as they navigate through the virtual environment. This convergence of VR and motion simulation technology has the potential to redefine the future of gaming, offering unprecedented levels of immersion and realism.
However, the evolution of Gta simulator is not without its challenges. One of the primary considerations for developers is motion sickness, which can occur when the sensory inputs from the simulator conflict with the user's perception of motion. To address this issue, researchers are exploring techniques such as predictive modeling and adaptive motion algorithms to minimize discomfort and enhance the overall experience.

Top Seven Potential Futuristic Turning Points In Mobile App Development
Tumblr media
Mobile apps are an integral part of every person’s life. Today, people almost live and breathe mobile apps. Whether you want to buy a hairpin, food, or a house, there is an app for that. As the market grows, businesses keep shifting towards new trends to keep up with the competition.   Today, there are a number of technologies and trends, like IoT, 5G, AI, etc., that have influenced businesses to adopt them. Moreover, businesses also aim to adopt these trends and technologies to stand out from the rest.   If you are a business with an app or planning to build one, you must carefully scan the market to study its trends. Let’s read ahead and uncover some mobile app trends that may revolutionize the industry in the future.   What Will Mobile App Development Look Like in the Future? Well, the market of mobile app development stood at $197.2 billion in 2021. Further, it is expected to go up $583 billion by 2030. So, as per the market numbers, there is a lot of scope. But not if you are falling behind on the futuristic trends. 1. Super Apps One of the top and hot trends of the future is super apps. Unlike the traditional app approach, where one app is used to serve only one purpose, today, businesses are producing multi-functional apps. Apps that serve multiple purposes are known as super apps.   For example, if there is an app that allows food delivery can have a section where people can reserve a table at the restaurant. This kind of app is known as a super app. Swiggy, an Indian food delivery app, has these features.   Another awesome example of a super app is Omni. It is Central America's rapidly growing app that provides services like cab booking, bike sharing, healthcare services, and finance, all in one place. As these apps add utility and convenience to the users while saving space on their phones, they can be a perfect booster for your business. 2. DApps DApps means decentralized apps that are based on blockchain technology. Blockchain is a decentralized ledger that allows secure and transparent financial transactions without the need for intermediaries.   The rise in the number of users using DApps was 396% year-over-year in 2022. Plus, the number of unique active wallets increased by 50% in 2022 compared to 2021.    These stats prove that numerous crypto wallets and currency convertor DApps use blockchain today. As blockchain offers increased security and privacy, DApps are perfect for financial transactions without any fraud or hacking. Moreover, DApps offer users greater control over their data as there is no intermediary. Thus, making it a leverageable trend in the future. 3. Predictive Analytics Predictive analytics is the process that uses technologies like machine learning, AI, big data, etc., to make future predictions based on historical data. Though the use of predictive analytics is prevalent as of now, it will expand its branches in other ways.   For example, in the future, you may get to see the use of predictive analytics to smoothen the development process. Just like data is gathered and analyzed from apps and sensors, app developers will provide their experience data in the future. Based on the analysis of this data, the development process will get smoother as there will be negligible issues.   Further, user data can be used to understand app bottlenecks and use it to enhance user experience. 4. Gaming and Entertainment Among all the mobile application development trends, this is the one that will never fade away. The gaming market is expected to rise to $545.98 billion in 2028, meaning that game development will be a goldmine for you.   However, there are some things to factor in. For example, make it a mobile game, as there will be over 2 billion mobile gamers by 2028. Further, add features related to AR and VR to make it immersive.   Pro-Tip: Invest in a role-playing game similar to GTA.   When it comes to entertainment, make sure that you build an app that runs smoothly on the phone. Plus, focus on making it as data-efficient as possible, as data issues may affect the demand for your app. 5. IIoT IoT is a network of smart devices connected to the internet, and Industrial IoT is the use of sensors to streamline industrial processes. With the introduction of Industry 4.0, the use of smart sensors is on the rise, and so is its market. As per stats, the industrial IoT market is expected to reach a massive $1.1 trillion by 2028. Hence, if you want to give your competitors a run for their money, do invest some resources in training your developers for IoT app development.   It will be best to invest in IoT apps that collect and analyze data using a combination of technologies like AI, machine learning, etc. Moreover, focus on making the mobile user experience better. 6. Custom Enterprise Apps In 2020, the rate of cyberattacks was sky-high as the entire world was working from home. It was a golden time for cyberthieves as firms all around the world witnessed a surge of 148% surge in ransomware attacks. This was mainly due to the lack of security and the use of data from unsafe networks.   Now, one thing to understand here is that businesses that use custom enterprise apps for their operations do not face these issues. As these apps are specifically designed to shield and protect company data, it is nearly impossible for cyber thieves to break them.   Data security is the number one priority for every business today. Hence, following the trend of custom enterprise apps will ensure the security of data and digital assets for the organization and profit for you. 7. Instant Apps If you ask us, Instant apps are the future of mobile apps. Unlike regular apps, these apps are accessible by the users without downloading or installing on the device. They provide the same functionality as regular apps without taking up much space on your device. To make such an app, developers need to deep link the app to provide it with the required functionality.   If you are up for giving tough competition to your competitors, it will be best to adopt this trend from now on.   What Technologies will be best for Mobile App Development? If you need to get the most out of the futuristic mobile app trends, adopting the latest app development technologies is necessary. Here are some of the best technologies for mobile app development!
Swift
Flutter
React     Native
Xamarin
And more!   Conclusion In conclusion, the mobile app market is constantly growing, and to keep up with the competition, businesses need to stay updated with the latest trends and technologies. Some trends that will revolutionize the industry include super apps, DApps, predictive analytics, gaming and entertainment, IIoT, custom enterprise apps, and instant apps.   Now, some of you may not be very well-versed with the trends and may need help to understand them well before making an app. Don’t worry! We at Octos Global can help with understanding these trends and offer you consultation regarding the same.

Horizon Zero Dawn Review
Tumblr media
The game that critics have been raving about for years and I just haven't played. I heard a lot of people say "this needs a movie" but they say that about any game that dares to be a little bit cinematic because I personally disagree.
That first part is rough, the story seems so in your face, predictable and bland but I think the problem is that it didn't know how to put in its exposition. I think it naturally builds up as it goes on, getting bigger and broader, it's just those first experiences that can be a slog because you're pretty much learning what style you're going to play in.
I got more or less everything I expected, crafting, a skill tree, various weapons. What I didn't expect though are dialogue options. You can choose normally up to four paths, an intelligent one, a compassionate one, and a straightforward one. You don't have to worry about the stress of trying to reach a specific ending because there's really only one, the only thing that affects it is the amount of people that are in it. So does that make the choices irrelevant? Yes and no because there are different dialogue options and like I said, which means that you can get certain characters to like you more given the option you choose but not in the same way that relationship points work and I definitely felt the draw to do that whenever I came across my first side-quest.
Tumblr media
Side-quests are interesting, I love tracking things in games, though it's rare that you actually get the chance to do it and here you have a good amount of opportunities. Is that all though? Far from it. I actually found myself searching for side-quests because the first two were so satisfying. It really only began to show its hand a bit more after those quests. As I mentioned, there are a lot more RPG elements than I first imagined but it starts to send you on scavenger hunts, especially that Dreamwillow one, that one I actually laughed out loud at every time I was turned away. It also starts to gatekeep to where it recommends that you be a certain level which is...odd? I mean at face value it looks like you could rock basically any combat situation that isn't context sensitive. Leveling up gives you abilities but they're more like Deus Ex on that front, where it's just for preference and upgrading, not necessarily strength. The only thing you improve on offense wise basically boils down to having the right materials or units to buy weapons then a matter of finding modifications. Other than that, leveling up seems to just increase your health. It really just depends on the quest too because I'll play one above my level and be fine then play another that's actually under my level and feel stuck.
Now I only played it on normal mode so something like "Ultra Hard" is bound to be more demanding but as far as actual side quest content, I feel like they have potential but just need tweaked, give me more stuff for major characters that affects their standing with me. Rather than having each quest be contained in its own story, have it affect you later in the game, let your actions be shown, give it rewards and consequences. There are some really great side-quests but there are also some crappy ones, it doesn't pass that threshold that most RPGs fall under or anything. However, I did find myself doing side-quests at my own free will and the ones that I didn't like or couldn't do at the time, I just skipped and focused on something else, I felt a lot more freedom with this game, like I didn't feel forced to grind or do a certain number of side-quests or really do anything. It encourages you to explore and play the way you want to play and I respect the heck out of that. Maybe it's different for other players though.
Perhaps my favorite actual side thing was the Cauldrons for those who actually played this, you'll know why. For those who didn't, just know that it's cool and let it be a surprise for when you go to one. You might expect these big set-pieces and bosses like Uncharted or GoW, but it's not really like that. I genuinely think that this is more video-gamey than it lets on which certainly takes up its runtime. One addition to side-quests that I would like to see is one where you don't know it's happening. For example, in this game, you'll come across random hunters who are attacking or being attacked by machines but rather than just going on about your day and them going on about their's, I want to fight off the machine and the person say "You saved my life, my name's Jara, I live in the town nearby and want to repay you." so you go there and there's trouble so it starts up a side-quest. Now don't get me wrong, there are PLENTY of instances of people getting attacked actually being a mission but most of the time someone in town will just tell you "I haven't seen this person in a while, can you go check on them for me?" It's the art of subtlety and also just doing a good deed and getting rewarded for it. It's a conscious choice and split decision rather than just another checkmark on your list to complete.
Tumblr media
Now I won't bother listing the characters and rating them but there's a certain aspect that has me really enthused So, Aloy is an outcast and a lot of these side missions and scenarios reflect her, you'll see the way she can relate with other characters, making it almost poetic in a subliminal kind of way. Then they add this tribal and futuristic setting to it where Aloy acts as the medium, there are parts of the game where she questions the tribe because they cut themselves off from technology and just don't know any better and we as a viewer know that but having the main character view things in 'our' lens is pretty genius. To top that off, they give her enough personality to be her own character while giving us enough power to influence her so that we ourselves can REFLECT WITH HER. It's not her character that I'm impressed with, it's the layout of the story.
So, how is the main story? It's kind of like the Flood scenario in Halo if I'm being honest. I'm not going to spoil anything but it's passable, like I said, it's not like an Uncharted and it's not like a movie. The visuals just look good at times (I took all the pictures in this review myself and so much more!). I'd call it a futuristic/tribal mix between Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Skyrim but I see elements of a lot of things. (Also since it's post apoctalypic, you find items that we see in modern day, like how they call keys, "chimes"! They think they're windchimes because there are no more cars! I love that!)
It actually does a pretty good job at being an open world considering that there are tons of things to do on your routes as well as collect but it's not so much so that it seems unfeasible, as I said, I found myself doing a good chunk of the side stuff just because it was fun to do and I'm not even close to a completionist for any game. If you mess up, healing plants will still be there. As long as you save, enemy parts will still be there. A place can be cleared out and conquered so that enemies don't come back. The actual towns are peaceful so you can't get mangled by any bots outside of scripted instances.
The graphics are pretty good but I can see some error here and there, nothing necessarily game breaking but the animations and AI are definitely janky at times. It's pretty obvious from the get-go but I'll do my best to specify and give constructive criticism on what I found wrong with certain aspects of the game. Rost is slow, like slower than walking speed but that's not to speak for all NPCs, some run, some you don't need to follow, it was really just him. I've had NPCs who fight but miss every single time on simple enemies (that might not be a bug, that might just be a funny bit that someone decided to add in). Sabretooths have jumped through walls (granted the walls were kinda broken but I'm not sure if those big boys can fit when they can barely find the entrance) I found myself jumping to a ledge or on a rope but not land it and just drop (it really boils down to loosening the hit box for that). Which to add on to that, I would like more places to climb and jump to in general (other than stupid mountains). I felt like there wasn't really enough that I could climb and the places that I could, could've been a bit more obvious that I could, maybe even make it viewable with your focus if you don't want it to be visually outstanding. There's a day and night cycle and while I like that, I found some of the contrast to be annoying because I could be staring a ladder right in the face and not even know it sometimes because it would be so dark. I'm not going to complain too much about it because I didn't turn my brightness up, I just left it at default and I would assume the PS5 version fixes some of those little things.
Tumblr media
Now, this one is kind of a gray area: Hiking up mountains. Skyrim, Fallout, and Death Stranding went too far and gave little to no barriers. They had you looking for sweet spots that weren't there in order to cheese your way through an area either on or off a beaten path. But I would compare this to something like GTA where it's not as bad and does have its limits but might need tightened up some more because I can certainly get to places that lead to nowhere.
I've made headshots that don't make contact or damage while using precision. Part of that problem was that they could be high up in a tower (which have spikes sticking out) and I would hit ABOVE the logs, to make a headshot but since it was in that vicinity, it registered that as the spikes' hitbox so it wouldn't cause any damage and just alert the enemy (same if I was in the tower, looking down). Input lag where I hit up button on the D-Pad to regain health and I have to keep pressing it. If I had to guess, you have to meet the requirements of not taking damage, staying still, etc in order for it to actually work but it doesn't really have a reason to do that and it doesn't "tell" you that those are the requirements (as far as I know).
During the final boss, one of the enemies hit me into a rock wall, trapping me inside of it and the boss was already half health so I really didn't want to have to restart (I also didn't know how far back the checkpoint was) so I kept shooting stuff and eventually the boss destroyed the wall, allowing me to get out (timed section, by the way). There have been a few times where a tree or leaf or something is obstructing a cutscene and sometimes there will be a mech in the background screaming over the NPC talking, which I'm sure is due to the cutscenes being real-time which is still pretty impressive. Now are these errors all the time? No, not at all, I'm just pointing out that some times these things happened and that I felt it needed ironed out but I wouldn't call this half baked or an unfinished product or anything, it's nowhere near that level. I get that there are so many NPCs that it's hard to account for them all with facial animations but whenever they're talking, it seems pretty static and sometimes the lips don't line up. There's this one guy who says that he got lost in a sandstorm but he's standing in snow. Again, little nitpicks in an otherwise great game.
Now, I got this game for free as a Playstation promotion but that doesn't necessarily mean it'll be great, I played a little bit of that Ratchet & Clank reboot that was offered and I wasn't impressed, I quit after the first few worlds and was glad I didn't buy it at launch, (despite being a classic PS2 R&C fan) but we're not here to review that. I also played Abzu and loved it but it was short so it was definitely worth a play but maybe not 60$ (I actually think it's 20$ at this point though). With this game, it's the whole complete edition with DLC and everything, it has the length, so it really just boils down to "Would I have spent money on it otherwise?"
I think I would've if I knew more about it because I think it just got better and better after that first part of the game. It's marketed a bit differently than what I ended up getting but I found myself pouring hours into this game and loving it for one reason or another. I actually bought Shadow of the Colossus along with it (which is considered a cult classic) but I liked Horizon so much better, definitely worth its full price in my opinion. (So your promotion worked on me Sony, congrats) It has its problems but the potential is there and I feel like a sequel would probably iron out a lot of my troubles with it, so it's definitely a franchise worth investing into.
If you're interested in what I thought of the DLC alone (if you didn't get the Ultimate edition and are wondering if the extra content is worth it) I have a separate post that goes into that here.

Zoey Punches the Future in the Dick: The Fast Franchise Meets Diablo Cody
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This article is sponsored by St. Martin’s Press.
Zoey Punches the Future in the Dick is the fun and fast-paced second book in the Zoey Ashe series by David Wong, writer of the John Dies at the End series. It picks up a year after the events in the first book, 2015’s Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits, and follows Zoey Ashe and her Ashe Security team as the protagonist continues to adjust to her immense wealth and power.
Action-packed and full of humor, Zoey Ashe is Diablo Cody meets the Fast franchise. Fans of snarky protagonists and action that borders on the absurd will delight in this romp through the gaudy, technologically advanced Vegas-like city of Tabula Ra$a, a veritable gangsters paradise. Though this is the second entry in the series, Futuristic Violence isn’t a necessary prerequisite to enjoy the story. But it will make you want to go back and find out how we got here.
How did we get here? Zoey Ashe is a small-town barista who inherits a criminal empire after the death of her absentee father, Arthur Livingston. She goes from living in a trailer park with her smelly cat Stench Machine to living in an estate, with billions of ill-gotten dollars at her disposal. She wants to go legit, but it’s a daunting task, and she has to continue on with business as usual while she works toward changing her company from inside. Her sudden wealth and overwhelming power have made her a divisive presence in the city of Tabula Ra$a, and she has to deal with trolls and vitriol on a constant basis.
Zoey is constantly harassed by an “anti” group called The Blowback who call her a cow, moo at her in public, and spend an unhealthy amount of time being antagonistic towards her and her company. They see her as a spoiled rich brat whose unearned money and power give her carte blanche to do anything. It’s a classic “haves” versus “have-nots” heightened by the always-on cameras in the city that follow Zoey and her detractors, which turn the conflict into theater.
Tabula Ra$a is a near-futuristic wild-west city in Utah that is highly technologically advanced . It is a self-governed city run by the rich, that has loose laws and even looser enforcement, and it’s a fun playground for Zoey and her team to operate in. There are functionally few limits to what can be done within the story, and Wong takes full advantage of the setting by putting Zoey and her crew in Grand Theft Auto-like criminal mayhem. With advanced weaponry, biological enhancements, and all manner of gadgetry, Zoey Ashe and her team take on the city with a vast array of toys.
When Zoey inherits her late father’s cash and criminal empire, she also gets his top-notch team, which includes Will Blackwater, Echo Ling, Andre Knox, Budd Billingsley, and katana-wielding Wu. They support Zoey, and shelter her from the seedier aspects of her businesses, protecting her both physically and emotionally, though being “kind” is not the point.
After a hostage situation plays out in front of the world’s electric eyes, Zoey becomes the target of a smear campaign that includes cannibalism and organ-harvesting conspiracies. She is painted as the enemy of the everyman and embroiled in a battle of reputation against other major players in Tabula Ra$a. Things escalate, and the ensuing battles threaten to destabilize the city. Zoey and her team investigate the people behind the growing animosity aimed at her, and discover a whole world with its own rules that she is now unwittingly entangled with. The team work to quell any dissent that threatens Zoey, but they are playing catch up as The Blowback takes on a life of its own.
As Zoey becomes more involved in the business she’s inherited, she’s entrenched deeper into the shady inner workings of the city and the criminals who run it. She has to reckon with her late father’s nefarious influence and take responsibility for her complicity once gaining control. Zoey is in a fight against trolls and naysayers while having to confront the real possibility that they’re right, or at least partially so.
Zoey’s newfound power challenges her innate decency, but being decent doesn’t make her a pushover. Zoey is a relatable, smartass, self-deprecating, gen-z/millennial threshold dweller. What she lacks in life experience she makes up for in youthful hubris. She wants to make the world a better place while living off the spoils of a man who made it worse. But now with control of his vast criminal enterprise, she has a chance to right his wrongs. But doing that is work.
Zoey Punches the Future in the Dick is an entertaining story that explores wealth and influence through action and humor. In this sequel, Zoey is still coming into her own as the head of a highly successful criminal organization in a near-lawless city, and she’s only just beginning to grasp the obscene amount of power she wields. She’s confronted with new and worse things her company is responsible for and is always having to examine her and her company’s role in contributing to people’s suffering. But amidst her existential crisis, Zoey and her team are put in increasingly ludicrous scenarios that play out like GTA missions, which keep the story grounded in fun and absurdity.

Zoey Punches the Future in the Dick is a fun romp into a world that’s just a little bit batshit! It’s a futuristic dystopia that’s far enough removed from real life to offer escape, and its fast pace and action beats make it a thoroughly enjoyable read.
Zoey Punches the Future in the Dick is out now! Find out more about how to purchase here.

The Year of Magical Thinking, Ch.1
Summary:  Francis Sinclair believed Arthur Morgan had not finished living. In a second chance at life, Arthur discovers what it means to love himself.
At the edge of a precipice and nowhere to run, Arthur concedes defeat. In an extraordinary turn of events, he is sent through the ether to another time where his path crosses with a group not too unlike his own family. After discovering the fate of those he loved before, he races to find a way back. But what if he realizes that there is something worth staying for in this new world? Can two people separated by nearly a hundred and twenty years of living find their happily ever after?
________________________________________________________
So…Super nervous posting this. It’s the first time in a few years that I’ve written anything (the first fandom-centered work I’ve written since like 2005 lmao; Gilmore Girls anybody?) and it shows. But, alas, I’ve been incredibly inspired by RDR2’s story and the way other authors on Tumblr & AO3 have expanded on it. Shit guys, dunno if anybody is even going to read this, but I’ll push it out of the nest and into the world regardless. This may be the stupidest idea ever, but whatever, I’ll let y’all decide. A warning: This is not beta'd, but I reread it like 50 times. Still, I apologize for my terrible grammar. And, yes, I have shamelessly lifted the title from Joan Didion’s fantastic book. It just fit. So. Well. I’m terribly uncreative, so please forgive me Joan. Also, my only knowledge of 1920s-speak comes from F. Scott Fitzgerald, Clara Bow movies and Googling. I don’t know if anybody ever really said ‘old sport’, but what the hell. On another note, there will be a few things taken from the GTA universe, but it's minimal (San Andreas/Liberty City do not exist). I'll be explaining through a secondary character how states in RDR became the modern states that we know. And finally, constructive criticism welcomed and appreciated!! Anyway, here's Wonderwall...

Warning: This is me working through my “stuff” vicariously through Arthur Morgan and co.
The Year of Magical Thinking
Chapter 1 - Prologue (or A Dream of Arthur Morgan)
Roanoke Valley - 1899 Peace settled over Arthur Morgan like a warm embrace; the rattle in his lungs that had invaded his every waking moment these past few months now a distant feeling. With each labored rise and fall of his chest, drowning in his own blood, he spared but one final thought.
It’s over. It’s finally over and death would soon come for him.
This wasn’t how Arthur had envisioned his death. No, he had always thought he would die with a bullet in his chest and cordite in his lungs. Not at the behest of disease and treachery. Such a shame that wisdom should only come to him on his deathbed. If only…
That’s what it came down to, that’s what it always comes down to. If only, if only, if only, his mind repeated nonstop. Regrets, Arthur had plenty of them. For months, he had been sinking so far in regrets, he could scarcely breathe. What could he have done differently that would have given a better outcome? How had he not seen Dutch’s descent into mania? Arthur supposed that maybe he had seen but chose to ignore, because when had Dutch ever led them astray.
Micah. Arthur had so many regrets about that goddamn snake. Micah had attached to Dutch like a leech and sucked every drop of the very lifeblood of the gang. He had played on all of Dutch’s insecurities and weaknesses. Arthur’s eyes were finally open, for all the good it did him now. But that rat was only one of the last in a long line of regrets he would have in his life. Arthur’s craving for penance started long before Micah came along.
Maybe Arthur himself was the leech, a disease – an infection. Death and pestilence followed him around like an acrid smell. It was something that seeped into his skin, clawed its way inside like a cancer until it reached his soul, the very center of him. Not happy with just him, it carried through the air and infected everything he had ever cared for or loved. His mother, Hosea, Mary, Eliza and –
Isaac. Arthur still had trouble even saying his name, so wrapped up in guilt as he was. During the rare times he found himself alone, thoughts of the little towheaded boy would invade his mind. Being rightly familiar with cowardice, he would press the tips of his fingers to his skull until they felt like ten dull knives, as if to physically rid himself of the painful memories. Of course, this rarely worked and he was resigned to suffer through the punishment he subconsciously forced upon himself. And now, as he laid on the jagged gravel of this cliff, he finally welcomed the comforting mental images of his son.
Feeling the weight of a life lived recklessly lift slowly from his mind, Arthur turned his head towards the setting sun, his final thought being: I gave it all I had.
___________________________________________________________
Francis Sinclair had one rule:
Don’t mess with the timeline.
It had seemed so easy in its simplicity. In the beginning, that is, until it wasn’t. He hadn’t counted on Arthur Morgan. For a bad man, he sure did a lot of good. Probably more than he realized. When Francis had asked the outlaw to find the futuristic rock carvings, he hadn’t expected Mr. Morgan to deliver. Especially not in a matter of months. Chronos himself probably would have found the task trying.
So, in 1932, when Francis had read about the fate of the Van der Linde Gang in a new hit novel by J. R. Miller, he learned that the coppers had closed in on his ole friend, and well, that just wouldn’t do. He understood that he wouldn’t be able to find Mr. Morgan in the time needed to prevent the most unfortunate aspects of his fate, but he could prevent the ultimate one. What he didn’t expect was to find the man with one arm in a Chicago Overcoat.
Francis pulled the horse-drawn buckboard to a stop in a clearing next to the crag and hopped down. The air was calm and filled with the late evening chatter of the local fauna. He jogged the incline of the rock until a recumbent figure came into his field of view. It wasn’t until he was a few feet away that he noticed the extent of the man’s injuries. His blue shirt stained brown, gone was the desperado’s worn black leather hat, in its place a matte of blood and dirt in his previously honeyed blonde hair. His once handsome face gaunt, his ashen skin a mess of bruises and cuts. One eye was swollen shut, blood trickling down the corner of his mouth. Was he even breathing? Francis was running out of time.
“You’ve a lot more living yet, old sport,” the red-head crouched down and placed two fingers against the outlaw’s throat finding a slow, but steady pulse. “Yes, a lot more.”
Mr. Morgan groaned.
“Come on, we gotta find a way to get ya on your gams, ya follow?” Francis grabbed the man’s arm and tried to pull him into a sitting position. Morgan was having none of that.
“Let me– let me die, damn you,” he wheezed on an exhale.
“No, no you poor little bunny. Can’t do that. Now up you go,” Francis pulled once more, this time succeeding.
In a broken voice, Arthur pleaded, “Goddamnit, jus’ let me alone. ‘M so damn tired.” When he finally raised his head and opened his good eye, a look of recognition passed over his face. “You– “
“Yes, me. Now, let’s scoot. You don’t have much time, Mr. Morgan.” Francis placed the man’s arm over his own shoulders, Arthur allowing himself to be hauled into standing.
Arthur weakly protested, “’M dyin’, Mr. Sinclair. I’m a dead man. Ain’t no use in helpin’ a dead man.”
Francis just laughed and replied with the strain of half-carrying a grown man in his voice, “No, Mr. Morgan. As I said before, you’ve a lot more living left to do. Now, conserve your strength.”
Likely out of exhaustion, the outlaw did not say another word. They barely made it to the buckboard before Arthur collapsed. Just before Morgan would have fallen to his knees, Francis used the momentum to haul the man into the back of the wagon. As Francis grabbed each of the larger man’s legs to swing into the bed, Arthur’s breath rasped in his throat, “Why you doin’ this?”
Francis regarded him for a moment before saying, “Because you helped me get outta a pretty big pickle.” He paused, then smiled, “And because you’re terribly important to a lot of people, baby.” And with that, Francis climbed back up to the seat and flicked the reigns.
___________________________________________________________
Well, shit.
Arthur’s plan to die in peace had been upended by a curious red-haired fellow in a blue sweater. With no energy to ruminate further, he resolved to die in the bed of this damn wagon. As the cart trudged backed to the main road, Arthur’s worn body felt every mound and stone the wheels rolled over. Finally, on a relatively smooth surface, he allowed himself to observe his surroundings. Tall pines and hemlock blurred into each other passing in his periphery as he stared at the spattering of stars visible through dark clouds. The sun had officially set in the last thirty minutes and all that remained a reddish orange hue near the horizon. Above him though, what a sight indeed. Bright stars twinkled along the Milky Way, like God himself spread them with a paintbrush across the sky.
Why had he taken all this for granted? So many nights spent under these same stars, but Arthur never really paid them any mind except for navigation. How many years before the artificial lights of the cities overpowered their natural beauty? Unable to ponder any longer and continue the fight to stay conscious, Arthur resigned to close his eyes and place complete trust in the relative stranger.
What felt like moments later, or hours Arthur was unsure, cold droplets of water forced his good eye open once again. A murmur of thunder rolled in the distance. Mr. Sinclair finally turned around, his voice deafened by the creaking of the wagon and heavy breathing of the horses.
“We are just a minute away. I think we’ll make it before the worst of the storm hits.”
But like an omen fitting of this night, Sinclair was wrong. What began as random drops here and there crescendoed into a torrential downpour. The red-haired fellow should have known that hitching his wagon to the outlaw would herald an abundance of bad luck. Unable to shield himself and too tired to care, Arthur welcomed the deluge as if it would wash him away.
Mr. Sinclair halted the horses and hopped down from the buckboard once more. He appeared in Arthur’s line of sight as he unlatched the tailgate, setting down a lantern and grabbing the larger man’s arms in another tug-of-war to get him sitting. Water poured down his face and converged at his chin.
“We just have to ankle about ten feet to the opening,” Sinclair hollered over the rain. “You ready?”
At this point, Arthur would have conjured up his most intimidating mien but there was no energy for that. “No,” he answered defeated.
Unperturbed, the younger man smiled, “That’s the spirit.”
Grabbing Arthur’s arms, Mr. Sinclair placed one across his shoulders. When he hauled the outlaw into standing position, Arthur’s world tilted. Feeling unable to breathe and so lightheaded, he launched into a series of hacking coughs. Blood splattered against his hand and mixed with the rain, diluting until it turned into a river of pink down his arm. He looked to Sinclair. Wet hair plastered to his forehead; the cold of the rain made the strange man’s curious birthmark stand out all the more against pale skin.
“When you gonna see that I’m already dead?” His weakened voice barely heard above the storm.
The redhead looked at him, “Please, just trust me.”
They began their short journey to wherever it was they were going, walking only yards but feeling like miles. By the time they reached what appeared to be a cave entrance, Arthur’s knees buckled and his vision went black. He would have felt hitting the ground, if he’d been conscious. Coming to seconds later, he became aware of his arms being tugged above his head. Mr. Sinclair was apparently dragging him. Deep down, Arthur briefly admired the man’s grit. However, the sentiment was soon replaced by annoyance and near-agony as the sensation of what felt like an elephant settled atop his chest. In and out of consciousness, Arthur realized they had stopped when Sinclair crossed the threshold to grab the lantern at the mouth of the cave. The red-haired man set the lantern between the outlaw and the cave wall and then perched above his head, grabbing both of his arms by the wrists. Arthur could see the younger man’s mouth moving but could not discern the words, only comprehending ‘listen’ and ‘your hands’.
Sinclair then placed Arthur’s large hands against the cool stone wall. Even in his delirious state, he recognized the carvings he had previously found for the peculiar fellow. He could feel the vibrations of the man’s voice behind him in what felt like a chant, but he still could not determine the words. To Arthur’s astonishment, the outlines in the rock began glowing a mute bluish color. What began as a slight tingling in his fingertips turn into full body experience. Reality dissolved into nothingness and became a pure void. And then –
Everything.
Every single moment in his hard life experienced again but in hundred times the speed. This must be it, Arthur thought. God must be forcing him to relive every chapter of his rotten existence before He banished him to the fiery pits of Hell. Familiar faces began to permeate his view. Arthur tried in vain to reach out at the image of his mother. Beatrice Morgan may have been alive for only a small portion of his life, but he would carry her memory with him forever in the form of a flower at his bedside. Unpleasant memories began to flash as Lyle Morgan pervaded his vision. The son of a bitch had been a vile presence in his young days, a man who Arthur would live in fear of until the moment they finally hanged him. Arrested for larceny, his death hadn’t come soon enough.
And then Hosea appeared, someone Arthur had thought of as more of a father than even Dutch. The man had been convinced by the raven-haired outlaw to take a chance on a scared gangly boy who had just tried to rob their room. Starved and desperate for family, Arthur had latched onto the men soaking up anything they would teach him. And teach him they had.
More memories raced by, and Arthur caught sight of a beautiful brown-haired girl. Mary Gillis, the visage of her still enough to stir his pulse, laughed and blushed like a young woman in love. Even in the inevitability of their parting, Arthur had still carried the hope that they’d one day reunite and ride off into the sunset together. If not for Guarma and the mess that had come from the robbery in St. Denis, that may have been his future. Not the hellfire that awaited his damned soul.
And then, Eliza. A young girl of nineteen, Arthur had found comfort in her embrace in the wake of heartbreak. Intent on forgetting Mary, he foolishly took advantage of a girl’s infatuation and followed her to a room above the saloon where she worked. What had come from the union was a beautiful gift but more a curse. Isaac had his mother’s hair and his father’s eyes. A happy baby from what Eliza had told him. Until a group of transients killed them both over ten dollars. Arthur had just whipped up a tidy sum from some cattle rustling and had set his compass to visit his secret family, fully intent on giving Eliza all of the hard-earned money. What greeted him would harden his heart and set him on a path of wickedness. All he had to see were the two graves to understand what had happened.
Like a moving picture, the entirety of his life played before him. If this was what the devil had in mind for his punishment, it would be a hellish eternity. Forced to relive every mistake and misstep he’d ever made; it was what he deserved. But as the memories neared their end, he began to feel a weightlessness. Every atrocity and sin that had weighed heavy on his shoulders suddenly lifted. Again, everything went black.
But then –
Stars. Billions of them. Clearer than any night sky he’d ever seen. Galaxies and distant worlds powdered his vision like puffs of freshly picked cotton. No longer held under the burden of sickness, he took a deep and easy breath. He hadn’t felt this well in months – no, years. Was this heaven? Could God forgive a lifetime of misdeeds? Arthur may have never been a good man, but he did try to be better – in the end. But, no. He was irredeemable. This was a final punishment. A peek at the peace and serenity that redemption would have gifted, before God cast him from the light.
The answer was seemingly given when an unnatural force dragged him back through the ether. Again, hundreds of images flashed in his sight, but this time the memories didn’t belong to him. Too fast to discern individual frames, he could only pick out one reoccurring subject. A woman with dark blonde hair and a bright smile that formed two apple cheeks. Strangely familiar, his memory told him he didn’t know her, but his subconscious shouted in recognition. Then she was gone and with her the remainder of his vision.
Everything turned to black once more.

HUDS
GTA 5:
GTA 5 HUD is pretty simple and has just a couple of differences depending on what you’re doing. In the example below, the HUD shown is when the player opens the weapon wheel. In the bottom right is the map (which is always there unless turned off or in a cutscene), the middle is the weapon wheel and the top right shows you how much damage, the fire rate, the accuracy and the range of the weapon you’re hovering over. A cool thing about the GTA 5 HUD is that it’ll change it’s color depending on who you are playing as. For example, as shown below, you’re playing as franklin and the color of the weapon wheel is green. However, if you changed to Michael or Trevor, they’d have a different color themselves (Michael with Blue and Trevor with Orange)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2:
Red Dead Redemptions in game HUD kind of bare, but that’s good for it’s design. In the top right, a wanted image will appear if you do something wrong, or this may naturally come depending on the mission. Underneath it in white is what level you’re currently at, and how wanted you are. Kind of like the five star system in GTA (or even SIX stars if you played GTA 4) but with something that fitted the wild west theme a lot better. Underneath your wanted level if its’s there is the amount of ammo you have in your weapon with a number and a image to show what kind of bullet you’re using (you can craft different types of bullets to do more damage). And finally, you have a map with your health, stamina and dead eye above it. The map will show the area the law are searching in red if you are wanted as an indication as to where to run to get rid of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
FIFA:
FIFA have had the same sort of HUD over the decade, but they provide all the information you need. In game, you’ll have a display in the top left corner as to what teams are playing, what the scoreline is and what the time is. In the middle at the bottom is a simple map that shows where your players are and the opposition players, plus where the ball is in a yellow cross symbol. And then in the bottom two corners is the player you’re playing as, and the opposition player closest to you, with a stamina bar for both teams. In career mode, a cool HUD is when you get a full scout report back about a player. It’ll list their best stats, their age, their value and wage, and a lot more plus it’ll also have an added extra. It’ll either day “at the clue since ...” “Joined in ...” “exciting prospect” “potential to be special” or “has that special something” that can help the player determine what their potential can be.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BATTLEFIELD 5:
Battlefield V HUD is a bit of a mess. However, the mess of a HUD suits the game in my opinion. It shows you where you are, where you have to go, the weapons your using and all its ammo, the kills etc. The game suits this mess, however, because the game is set around the war and war is often a bit of a mess. Plus, the design of the HUD fits it too, and you could probably hide some parts of the HUD if you wanted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WATCH DOGS LEGION:
Watch Dogs Legion’s HUD fits the theme of the city being pretty futuristic with their own self driving cars and futurist things dotted around. The game has a pretty simple coloured map with little a bright yellow hexagon indicator to show you where you have to go. In the top left is your current mission selected, and in the bottom right is a simple image of what ability you have selected. And the weapon wheel follows the same color scheme, a little description of what the thing you have selected does, and it has each section labeled with a simple piece of text.

It would be easy to dismiss the Sanctus as a gimmick bike, only worth driving around Halloween. It was a mistake I made myself. It shares a lot of parts with the Avarus, so I thought it was just an Avarus with a skull and some spooky mods made as a quick cashgrab. But, it turned out that the Sanctus was a motorcycle unlike any other, with unholy amounts of torque that allowed it to drift across town and dared you to fully open the throttle. Not to mention it sounded utterly badass, and with some practice it could climb two-story walls like something out of a horror movie. This bike wasn't silent, but it was definitely a killer.
Tumblr media
In a similar vein, this Ruffian evokes imagery of the Headless Horseman. The Ruffian's different headlights were classified as extras, and with the use of a very simple glitch, it was possible to obtain one with none at all. Driving it at night was very interesting.
Tumblr media
Is "Apocalypse Deathbike" a band name? It should be. This bike was born out of the pursuit of speed. The Gargoyle was famous for a glitch that propelled it to very high speeds when popping a wheelie with specific wheels installed, and this quality persisted when it was upgraded into the Apocalypse or Nightmare variants of the Deathbike. Then, low grip tires were glitched on to it for even more speed, and coupled with its built-in jump, this bike became truly worthy of the War Boys.
Tumblr media
The fact that there were two Sanchez models in GTA made it a no-brainer to have one with standard tires and one with low grips. Surprisingly, it was much more controllable than I expected, but it lost a lot of its stunt potential.
Tumblr media
This Manchez Scout was a last-minute addition to the collection during the initial low grip tire rush. Trying to paint up this one was even more difficult, and the end result was very lacking all around. The extra speed was noticeable, but it couldn't hold a candle to other, faster motorcycles, and it handled like a drunk squirrel. This is a bike I wouldn't hesitate to sell if push came to shove.
Tumblr media
The BF400 was an example of low grip tires done well. Its already high speed got a nice kick, and the handling was just loose enough to be fun. With a color-matched livery to make it look sharp, this was a bike I took out quite a bit when I wanted to ride on the wild side.
Tumblr media
The Sovereign was a rare vehicle in more ways than one. It was only available during the Independence Day week, and it was pretty darn slow, so seeing one in the wild was an uncommon occurrence. In addition, one of its quirks was that it wasn't able to be painted because of the American flag livery. This one here had that overridden with a midnight purple paint job that turned the livery into a subtle detail, visible if you looked very closely.
Tumblr media
While its performance was completely unremarkable in every way, the Diabolus Custom had so many customizations and looked so cool that I rode it all the time nonetheless. I gave it a vivid purple-chrome secondary color and carefully masked it off to make the bike look like it had a glowing, futuristic power core. It was fitting that the Diabolus Custom also had an unusually powerful headlight, making it quite useful as a portable spotlight when people needed illumination for a scene.
Tumblr media
Also known as the $2,500,000 Bati, the Shinobi was a welcome addition to the game's bike roster that was also an example of rampant in-game inflation. Sure, it had some cool mods, and we hadn't gotten a new sports bike in years, but it drove almost exactly the same as a bike from the game's launch in 2013 that was equally competitive and could be had for less than one percent of the Shinobi's price tag. Move over, Lynx.
Tumblr media
Installing low grip tires on a Shotaro resulted in one of the most amazing bikes of my GTA career. The Shotaro was so naturally grippy that the loss in handling was almost imperceptible if you weren't specifically trying to throw it out, and the added speed covered the Shotaro's one weakness, making it even more exhilarating and turning it into a trick machine. Even after the nerf to low grips, I still had tons of fun with this one.

The graphics in the game have beeng updated to make superior use of colors, shadows, draw distance, and character models. That stated, if you are expecting it to be on par with it's contemporary counterpart GTA five, you are going to be disappointed. Nonetheless given the size of the game, the graphics are serviceable sufficient and nonetheless appear better than a lot of games in the app retailers, which is even far more impressive thinking about the game is ten-years-old.

Controls for platforming games like this are notoriously tough to get correct on mobile, but issues feel fairly all-natural with the left side of the screen controlling your horizontal movement and the correct side dedicated to controlling jumps, attacks, ground pounds, and dashes.
A equivalent trend may well operate out for GTA six as properly as the publishers are searching forward to releasing it on both the Xbox One X and the PlayStation 4 Pro console. These consoles are more strong than their counterparts and it would increase sales particularly two years later when they are far much more cost-effective for the common crowd. However, it is not possible to bring such futuristic graphics to the Xbox One S or the PS4 due to the fact of their limited hardware specifications.

Cyberpunk: 2077 Review
(SPOILER ALERT!)
To start I’ve been following Cyberpunk: 2077 since its 2012 debut. It has went through many different developmental decisions and teams to reach the point it is at today. That being said, I believe the public should be happy they got anything at all, considering the cop out that 2020 has proven to be so forth.

I’ll start with my criticisms. I feel that development was rushed to meet an unrealistic deadline, that also placed during COVID was near unreachable in the way the game should have been perceived. I find this all the more evident, as I hoped for flying cars and futuristic flying vehicles (as shown in the intro of the game). As far as I know, no flying vehicles exist within Cyberpunk (did Rockstar slip you some good times?).
For my run-through, things finally got moving as soon as the game ended. Albeit I progress quicker than most other gamers, it’s still strange that I beat the game with a level 40, by mistake. I entered the Nocturne mission thinking I was about halfway through, and as the mission closed with credits, I felt for the first time, Cyberpunk’d, myself. I waited for some sort of end scene after the miles and miles of names of people who had worked on it. No end game plus, no post credit scene. Just an option to reload my save before I accidentally completed the game (something which should not be possible).

Now onto the positives, I was floored by the level of immersion outside of the campaign. If the campaign went longer and allowed other areas to have arcs, the game can serve as something else entirely. Stepping back to my criticisms, I feel that the game’s main flaw is that it seems, to me at least, incomplete.
I have my fingers crossed that CDPR is planning on easing these things, and expansions will remove the Mass Effect 3 approach of three different colored muffins, all that are the same flavor. It is beyond deterministic to resolve multiple choices to one conclusion, and since I’m not a determinist I find that approach to be ambiguous in a developmentally lazy, and challenged way. If the developers handle it alike to The Witcher’s development I am sure it will reach the level of success it deserves.

Whether you play it last or next-gen seems to be a breaker. I plan on doing another run-through when I finally get my hands on the much coveted and scalped Xbox Series X. Nonetheless I found an upconverted 4K, last-gen runthrough to look very pretty. Loading got annoying, and some environments chugged, but nothing worse bug-wise than what I’ve seen in a typical Bethesda launch.
I’ve read much criticism surrounding Cyberpunk’s release and few have noted the irratic difficulty, amping from easy to really hard depending on the area you are traversing. Little things warn the character of this and besides minor roadblocks you can access the higher difficulty parts earlier, likely by accident.
I began my game as a Nomad, traveling from the wastes to the city in hopes of escaping apparently, some pesky Sheriff. My main concern right off the bat was to find a futuristic motorcycle. I wanted to drive it really fast and check out the lay of the digital city. My hopes were answered by a Tokyo type bike gang deliberating by their cycles in a Night City alleyway. I left my junker car nearby, came up with a Double barreled shotgun I found, and let the three of them have it. I got a cycle out of the alleyway, and started riding into the bloom of Night City. The visuals you see riding around the city, in terms of definition and size are wonderfully distracting. I found I would crash into something gazing at some overhead zeppelin or flying car traffic. Something always seemed to be happening somewhere in the coding of Night City.

This being said, the things I enjoyed most about Cyberpunk, were the unscripted elements. I expected a much more sandbox’d experience with some sort of single/multiplayer connectivity, akin to a Dark Souls 3 story PVP. These things have obviously been yet to be developed and might not ever be in this entry, come decision of a sequel.
The main plot-line dances from linearity, to an appearance of player guided decision. I expected this element to be much more open-ended, with a more dominant faction system guiding the endgame. Instead it seems most of the endgame boils down to a few decisions that don’t always seem to lead one to the other. I don’t understand why Panaam’s ‘romance’ ending was the only good one. I never returned her request for a date.
RDR2 is another game that fell victim to a deterministic endgame, locking the player into the Writer’s trap, instead of allowing them to find a way to make the game’s avatar, quote en quote, live on in the virtual world. It also pits players with trying to save other NPCs, which there is never a positive an outcome to, and maybe there should be a more challenging route introduced that allows a secret arc. Neither game seemed to address this, letting the NPCs that die, die, and giving you no real way to change that coding.

Johnny Silverhand is both interesting and sort of annoying. His memories are pretty ridiculous, and his blanket statements only keep his own ego warm at night. His character intrigued me because it reminded me slightly at times of someone I knew. But it borderline copped out every other minute as well.
Overall upon my first completion, I felt slightly dissatisfied. Not because it was by any means bad, but because I wanted more. I had visions of robotic giants and spacecrafts. I also thought that CDPR would include a sort of technomamcer class, working strange magic through technology.
I also feel that there should be another way to reach the endgame through sidequests, that would be completely unassociated to Arasaka tower.
My original idea of the perfect run-through, was that when induced it would continue a new arc where Johnny Silverhand is not a ghost but a still living character who you mount the final mission with.
Overall the game both appeased my expectations and left some others unfulfilled. If you have a curiousity towards Cyberpunk, I would say to give it a try. It seems it runs best in 4K. It is by no means a dissapointment. From participating in an early build where you could skate around the city with your shoes on rollercoaster-like rails, I’ve seen this concept come a long ways.

End thoughts:
-Try punching The Woodman to death
-Don’t like Night City radio? Try putting Justice’s Cross on in the bachground
-If Blade Runner, GTA, and The Witcher (don’t forget Keanu!) had a baby, you’d likely get Cyberpunk: 2077
