ok heres how i split up the dnp eras (loosely based on dan's timeline in his interview w anthony)
2009-2011: the Sillies era :3 dan refered to it as being a dumb teen just posting cuz he was bored, which is like, thats what all of youtube culture was at this time. they met and like fell in love or whatever you know the lore dont you. phil moved from his parents home to his first apartment in manchester, and dan technically moved to uni but really he moved into phil's apartment to take advantage of his washing machine and ps1 and. yknow. other stuff. they officially moved in together in 2011 yippee hooray, the phanchester apartment holds a special place in my heart
2012-2013: THE SHIFT. they started getting Serious about youtube as a career, doing more stuff w the radio, superamazingproject started in 2011 but THE SHIFT is very easy to observe when you compare the first season of sap to the last season. ALSO. they were NOT A DOUBLE ACT AND NOT GAY 🙄. it could also be called the No Homo era lmao idk this is when a lot of shitty things were happening wrt leaked information, harassment of their families, and just generally becoming more in the spotlight especially while still in the closet being a horrible experience. but also, they moved to london and got cool opportunities with radio stuff and were starting to actually make a living on this shit.
2014-2016: Peak Dan And Phil™ Era. at the height of their popularity. they realized oh shit, we ARE a double act and not only does everyone enjoy us best as a double act, WE enjoy working together. tabinof, tatinof, dapgo, still doing the radio every month up until they start touring, 7 second challenge app, gamingmas, what the hell DIDNT they do during this time period (what they didnt do was uhh take care of themselves and not overwork and not blur their work and personal lives so much to the point where they felt like the whole apartment was a film set.)
2017-2018: Gay Softlaunch Era (aka post-baking aka glass closet) the baby steps toward authenticity, moved to the double apartment to separate work and life, ii's whole theme, dan talking abt depression, phil getting the quiff, both of them being gay as hell in every way other than saying it explicitly. important things of note: TRUTH BOMBS dropped, Interactive Introverts happened, still uploading gaming vids and honestly by the end you could feel their fatigue. and then they hiatused dapg.
2019-2022: ok these four years each feel like whole eras in themselves, but also theres an overarching theme. THE GAY ERA.
2019: im gonna futher split this year in half. first half- dad left to buy milk so other dad is taking care of us. rough six months for dannies im sure. important phil thing of note- he changed his film set from his "bedroom" to a fairly basic but cute shelf backdrop. honestly prob didnt wanna keep pretending that was his bedroom considering.... second half- DAN AND PHIL GAY. dan uploads his magnum opus. phil comes out via tweet. they go to japan and its really gay and it's The Trip to japan for them like yes they first went in 2015 and again in 2023, but Japhan 2.0 Was The One. what does this mean? proposal? anniversary? idk exactly but it was gay as hell dude and theyve talked about that trip with such love in their hearts.
2020: Phandemic (sorry that was bad) but also where tf is dan again? even with the big C-word happening, it was business as usual for phil, regular vids but make em gayer, caught a pigeon nbd, and end of the year introduces the Stereo app show Phil and Phriends where he's had chats with pj, louise, his brother, seth everman?????, and finally. dan reappears. they reveal that they bought and FULLY PLANNED a house together and are ready to move!
2021: they don't move house for another like six months! basically their house was (and is??) still being worked on AND they were in lockdown AND turns out at the end of last year, they were kicked from their Life apartment and were now living in the Work apartment so you can imagine what all of this can do to their psyche and lowkey they were getting sick of each other like it wasnt just bordering on phivorce it was nearly Phurder. Phidow. but to fill the time so that DOESNT happen, my favorite fucking thing ever happens: Lockdown Lads (and all the other names). the first taste of what a dnp podcast would sound like, with the added bonus of chaotic listener interaction. oh yeah also dan wrote a mental health guide book whatever (IM KIDDING I REALLY LIKE YWGTTN I WROTE LIKE TWO REVIEWS ON IT NOW) and they finally become Homosexual Homeowners. theres quite a bit more dnp content this year, dan being on phils channel a bit more, the phodcasts, dan's gay and not proud special.... oh yeah and hometown showdown i guess AND TEXT VIDEO 2!!! my favorite and my namesake!!!!!!!
2022: Prophecy Year..... but they didnt get married. dan returns with another longass video to say: hey i hate being a youtuber and also youtube majorly fucked me over. but also fuck that im gonna do a weird talk show and ALSO GO ON TOUR WITH THIS APOCALYPSE THEME! phil actually... slows down this year. more dan uploads than phil somehow??? but also Dan Is Leaving me is posted and i go completely insane and become the deranged individual you see today. WHICH FINALLY LEADS US TOOOOOO
2023-present: The Unhinged Era. dan's tour was a huge Emotional success for him but uh not without its hiccups due to management and all that and i think he and phil finally realize. Fuck It Who Cares. dan flies back to england FROM AUSTRALIA to make sure he can be with his future ex-husband on his birthday. CAKE HEART EMOJI. YELLOW PLAID SHACKET. they go on a gamer date and post a picture of playing footsies in a cab. THE PHUDE HAPPENS. they go to japan again and while this one will never be The One it was still a well earned holiday this time with bryony! and they took a bunch of very cute film camera pictures.... THIS IS ALL JUST THE FIRST HALF OF 2023 BTW. in phil news, he talks about going to therapy and figuring out how to manage his anxiety!!!! he changes his hair again!! he hires an editor, phan is his otp, he teases about the gaming channel a couple of times but so many of us already dropped any hope of that returning- OH WAIT WHAT THE FUCK?!!!? HUH!??!? they returned, and more chaotic than ever before. the gayness upped to the max, the Weirdness on full speed, the Horniness at Very Scary Levels Oh God Stop Talking About Dogging, phil can swear uncensored now???? and this energy has continued into today...

helloo since we're on the topic: top historical fiction (or adjacent) ? can be any time period I just really love your taste in shows/games/etc and am always on the lookout for history inspired media !
thank you!!! im rly glad im like. inspiring other ppl to engage w things im insane abt hudofajsdfdassfsad. anyways. i will probably expand that list bc i literally forgot every single thing i ever read. also i havent watched that many movies so far
ancient times: i havent really watched a lot of movies/series set in ancient times so far :(
rome HBO (2005-2007) (tv series) - OF COURSE. i personally think its one of the best series ever made. they combine political, miliatry history with the lives of every day people in an incredible way. they never let you once engage with the series through modern lenses. according to my teacher (a historian, archeologist & self described 'romaphile') its incredibly historically accurate, mostly the clothing, set designs, characterization, military practices, etc. except for the things they straight up made up, of course.
i really enjoyed gladiator (2000), i think its a masterpiece.
prince of egypt (1998) i guess?
all the asterix movies of course, all the animated ones and most of the live actions. but i wouldnt really call it historical fiction
ok i havent actually finished watching it for now but sebastiane (1976) - an erotic, x rated, gay interpretation of the martyrdom of st sebastian. its in latin also.
wait i cant believe i forgor about assassin's creed odyssey - so far the only one ive played. its so fun and incredibly immersive visually. especially pour moi who cries into the pillow about how ill never experience the ancient world. also you can b a faggot which is always fun. i have things to say about their portrayal of same-sex sexuality and slavery in classical greece but i get why they did that considering its supposed to like. appeal to a lot of people, and a more "historically accurate" portrayal (for example of pederasty or how common slavery was etc.) would b v difficult for a lot of their target audience. alas.
medieval and early modern era:
the name of the rose (1986) - my medieval history teacher literally showed us bits of this movie to teach us about monasteries and monks fhdosiasdjasd.
the borgias (2011-2013) - incredibly messy, lots of political intrigue, and so so fun to watch. about the history of the borgia family. filled to the brim with drama.
the three musketeers (1993) - my favorite adaptation, also coincidentally the one i grew up on. casting tim curry as richelieu was genius. he slays so hard.
i also like bbc's the musketeers (2014-2016) - a neat little series. very fun and entertaining to watch.
outlaw king (2018) - like i dont think most ppl heard of this movie. its about robert the bruce's fight to reclaim the throne of scotland. starring chris pine
vikings (2013-2020) - its fun. i havent watched the entire series tho. dont expect anything resembling historical accuracy
the northman (2022) - you will see something resembling historical accuracy
mihai viteazul (michael the brave) (1971) - a fun movie. very much romanian propaganda tho.
1670 (2023-) - such a fun series!!! incredible cast, shows respect to the actual history and the lives of historical people. really cute and funny.
caravaggio (1986) - a biopic about caravaggio.
wait i also forgor about pentiment - an intriguing, immersive, and incredibly beautiful video game! it has a lot of 'the name of the rose' vibes, with it being a medieval murder mystery taking place in a monastery. its incredibly touching and made me cry, and in the last few years i very rarely cry. also im 99% sure its an indie game? go support the creators!
vaguely-medieval/early modern fantasy:
mirror mirror (2012) - a retelling of snow white. a very fun movie imo, with incredible costume design. julia roberts plays the evil queen and she SLAYS. armie hammer is unfortunately in that movie.
stardust (2007) - one of my fave movies growing up. more modern-inspired but still.
the green knight (2021) - controversial i know but i actually loved this movie! i liked it both as a standalone movie but moreso as a 21st century adaptation to sir gawain and the green knight.
galavant (2015-2016) - !!!!!!! one of the most series ever! they manage to tackle such difficult concepts and conversations with a hilarious wit. so fun to watch. i listen to a lot of the songs still, and rewatch every once in a while.
disenchantment (2018-2023) - very fun to watch, especially the first season.
i also really liked the novel uprooted by naomi novik. its a polish-inspired fantasy.
modern era:
killers of the flower moon (2023) - of course. a masterpiece
aferim! (2015) - a romanian movie set in 19th century wallachia, about two officers, a father and son, who were sent by a nobleman to retrieve an escaped enslaved romani man. a lot of the people in the comments were calling the movie humorous and funny, maybe im missing smth (as im watching with subtitles n dont understand the original language) but it was a very difficult watch for me??
the handmaiden (2016) - need i say more
black sails (2014-2017) - a prequel to the famous novel 'treasure island'. not an easy series to watch. incredibly good.
the favourite (2018) - need i say more pt 2
the rabbi's cat (le chat du rabbin) (2011) - animated movie set in early 20th century algeria. a rabbi's cat learns to talk overnight.
the nice guys (2016) - a fun murder mystery set in the 1970s
o brother, where art thou (2000) - a retelling of the odyssey set in the southern us in the 1930s
victor/victoria (1982) - set in early 20th century paris. julie andrews pretends to be a man and takes on a job as a drag queen. extremely fun, extremely gay movie.
lady chatterley's lover (2022) - very much porn for moms but it was a nice watch imo
amulet (2020) - set in like. idk. sometime in the 20th century. this is a horror movie, deals a lot with misogyny, sa, and so on. i really like it, personally. a lot of people, mostly weird men, dont tho.
the great (2020-2023) - i have mixed feelings about this show. on the one hand, its really fun to watch. on the other hand, its basically ofmd for girls who have public mental breakdowns whenever someone claims corsets were oppressive. and theyre so weird about russians, jesus christ.
disses:
domina (2021-) - i just couldnt get into it, esp since i tried right after finishing rome hbo. it was kind of silly, and not in a good way. takes itself wayyyy to seriously.
i didnt like spartacus (2010-2013) - the dialogue was almost grotesque and the editing, especially the transitions, straight up killed me
damsel (2024) - holy fuck what a trainwreck of a movie. absolute waste of angela basset and robin wright. the only good thing were the costumes.
lancelot du lac (1974) - i just didnt like it at all. couldnt get into it. i guess it was way too french and artsy fartsy for me. a movie that was trying to say both too little and too much at the same time.
i didnt rly like bram stoker's dracula (1992) - i mean. it was a fine movie. it was definitely not the godfather. the movie itself was meh. the visuals tho? absolutely stunning

I'm aware I'm not the only person to do this but here's a post that was just meant to be me tracking up the description of Gerry's hair to see what is actually going on on that front but this also turned into a few other things that are quite interesting to think about. And I started
Tumblr media
I will put this under a cut as it's long, also spoilers
So we first meet Gerry in 004
Tumblr media
And he's described as having 'artificially black' hair and he's unshaven, this statement is set in Winter 2012 and is from the period where Mary is haunting Gerry post her death, this also occurs after the events of 012 as the incident in 012 is dated as happening on December 23rd 2011
Tumblr media
Then in 012
Tumblr media
Yet again, dyed hair, this time he's clean shaven which implies either Gerry tends to shave or he probably at least shaved for the sake of blending in for this incident
(This is also when Gerry had all his tattoos)
, this is also in 2011 and it's when Mary is still around but I'm not sure if she like actually somehow appeared at the hospital since it's never really said like how far Mary could like project herself as a ghost but either way somehow they signed him off to her.
Tumblr media
Also to note from 012
Tumblr media
Gerry has an expired passport with him, he's traveled a lot this lines up with what Gerry himself says in 111 that he and Mary traveled a lot (Also I personally feel he likely had a feeling he wasn't coming back from this and had that on him for... reasons)
Tumblr media
Then in 035 we encounter teenage Gerry in 2002
Tumblr media
He's described as thin, his hair is apparently obviously dyed, it's also described as 'greasy'
Also to note, this is where the statement giver implies Gerry is somehow stronger than he looks
Tumblr media
Gerry then shows up in 048
Tumblr media
He's described as scrawny here, and also described as having 'long black hair' this episode is set in September 2009 which would likely be about a year after Mary's death which is said to have happened in 2008 and in 111 Gerry does say the following
Tumblr media
Also in 004 it's stated that Gerry seemingly disappeared after being acquitted
Tumblr media
Also apparently someone moved into Pinhole Books in 2014
Tumblr media
Also to note 062 where Mary talks to Gertrude and gives her Eric's page is set on the 3rd July 2008 meaning that Mary's death was somewhere after this point (I am going to assume likely not that long after this)
Mary speaks to Eric in 154 which is dated to the 21st July 2008 and also this is where Eric does ask her to track down Gerry and Gertrude has been aware of Gerry's existence for a good while by this point.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Also it's implied that Eric and Gertrude know what Mary was going to do
Tumblr media
Another side note 080 is where we have Jurgen's encounter with Gerry which probably would've happened in 2014
Tumblr media
And Gerry thinks this was in fact not Leitner
Tumblr media
So now we come to 102
Tumblr media
This statement was taken in June 2014 and is the source of the 'poorly dyed' description of Gerry's hair, this is the only time where the condition of his hair is really remarked upon other than in 035 where it's described as greasy (Which I personally feel was just as a result of Gerry being a teenager at a time as having greasy hair as a teenager happens to most people) so that was likely a one off moment.
Other references to Gerry's hair being dyed imply it's obviously dyed and an artificial looking black so I have another feeling that his hair looking the way it apparently does here is probably a one off since Gerry has been.... going through it to put it mildly.
Tumblr media
And its stated that Gerry passes away a few months after this and in 111 Gerry states and since he says Mary haunted him for five years Gertrude seemingly was the one to seek Gerry out This was likely some point in 2013 (Going off what was calculated by people writing the tma wiki)
Tumblr media
Allegedly The Catalogue was burned, or at least Mary's pages were Gertrude however seems to have The Catalogue in 2015 when she is arrested for tresspassing
Tumblr media
Gerry was also unaware he was ill until it was too late
Tumblr media
In 012 we find out Gerry's death was sometime in late 2015
Tumblr media
And Jon finds the following out in 107
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
From what we have in 107 it's likely Gerry and Gertrude were heading to The Usher Foundation from Chicago but only got as far as Pittsburgh, this is where Gerry passes, Gertrude narrowly avoids arrest for being caught when binding Gerry to the Catalogue of the Trapped Dead and Gertrude travels back to England.
And then The Catalogue falls into Julia and Trevor's hands about a year late 109
Tumblr media
(And yes can confirm the Greyhound route referenced by Jon does exist)
So that's the post
Things to Summarise
Gerry is apparently stronger than he looks, he is also canonically pale and thin/scrawny
He's described as having stubble in 004 but not 012 I have a feeling he tends to stay clean shaven but in 004 it's implied he looks like hes not slept for a few days (Likely due to Mary) 004 happened post 012
Gerry has an expired passport with him in 012 likely for identification reasons (I personally feel he had a feeling he might not be coming back)
Gerry was released into Mary's care after the events of 012 but it's not clear if Mary was physically there or not
His hair is obviously dyed, and always described as long. His hair is described as Greasy in 035 when he's a teenager, and Poorly Dyed in 102, 102 is set not long before Gerry died so I have a feeling that's probably part of the reason his hair is like that he's been going through it (tm)
Gertrude very likely knew about Gerry's existence pre 2008, she was asked to find him in July 2008 by Eric, She also spoke to Eric a few weeks after Mary approached her in July 2008 but didn't intervene until 2013
Mary's death was likely some point in Summer 2008, probably in July
Someone moved into Pinhole Books in 2014
Gerry also beat up Jurgen Leitner in 2014
Mary's pages were burned in 2013 but it seems The Catalogue was still usable since Gerry was put into it
Gertrude and Gerry most likely heading to The Usher Foundation before his death They'd been in Chicago and were traveling via Pittsburgh, which is as far as they got before Gerry died, Gertrude never did show up at The Usher Foundation.
Gerry died some point in late 2015, the Catalogue of the Trapped Dead was left behind and eventually vanished from the evidence locker and somehow ended up with Julia and Trevor just under a year later

A Potted History of The Princess of Wales and the Early Years
I had an idea, at about 6 o'clock this evening, to go through everything Catherine has done with the Early Years before tomorrow and this has been rushed but let's go...
Tumblr media
After marrying Prince William in 2011, the then-Duchess of Cambridge began working with a number of grass-roots charities, which focused on mental health, addiction, and hospice care. Her first set of patronages - announced in January 2012 - included three charities within this sphere: Action on Addiction, The Art Room and EACH. Early the following year, Place2Be joined her list of patronages. During this time, Catherine visited her patronages, as well as other charities, and began to develop an understanding of the importance of childhood and mental health. She also made a number of private visits to children's hospices and her patronages. In 2013, she became a mother for the first time, which she spoke about in a 2020 podcast with Giovanna Fletcher (Happy Mum, Happy Baby), allowing her insight into what new mums experienced. It was around the same time she first began to publicly support Children's Hospice Week.
Tumblr media
Her work continued to develop and she began supporting the initiatives started by her patronages, such as M-PACT, which aims to improve the well-being of children and families affected by substance misuse. In 2015, Catherine began to engage in more "taboo" topics, such as fostering and the care system, as well as hospital schools, and women in prisons. By doing this, she was able to see how early intervention could positively impact on young lives. Catherine also undertook an engagement with Mind (her first engagement on World Mental Health Day) and began to meet with professionals, such as headteachers, to develop her knowledge.
Tumblr media
In 2016, Catherine supported the first ever Children's Mental Health Week (fun fact, in 2021, Kensington Palace retweeted some CMHW work I did in school). She also guest edited the Huffington Post, promoting Young Minds Matter. She became Patron of both the Anna Freud Centre for Children and Familes and Action for Children that year (a representative from both patronages is in her recently-convened Early Years Advisory Group). 2016 also saw Catherine bring together her work along with her husband's and brother-in-law's to set up Heads Together, an awareness campaign focusing on mental health. The trio also continued to celebrate World Mental Health Day, which they would continue to do for many years.
Tumblr media
The then-Duchess of Cambridge visted the Anna Freud Centre’s Early Years Parenting Unit, which works with parents who have personality disorders and aims to help them seek help and keep families together. Throughout this period, she undertook a number of engagements focusing on promoting Heads Together, including releasing a personal video alongside William and Harry for #OktoSay and appearing on BBC Radio 1. Heads Together culminated in the 2017 London Marathon, which she attended. 2018 saw Catherine begin to promote Mentally Healthy Schools. She also continued to expand her range of interests, attending the Headstart conference privately and visiting GOSH.
Tumblr media
She continued to develop her interests and began looking into neuroscience and its impact on mental health and early development. She also, for the first time, began showing an interest in the perinatal, with her also becoming Patron of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. In mid-2018, Catherine attended a symposium on the importance of early intervention. That year, she also convened an Early Years Steering group - showing the beginnings of her current work - and attended the Mental Health in Education Conference.
Tumblr media
Alongside William, she met with the BBC, where she spoke about children's wellbeing and the positive impact media can have. She also undertook a two-week private work placement at Kingston Hospital, on the maternity wards. In 2020, Catherine launched 5 Big Questions, and promoted this with a UK-wide tour, including a return visit to HMP Send. The questions were in the form of a short survey, open to the public.
Tumblr media
The afore-mentioned Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast aired in early 2020. During the chat, Catherine confessed to feeling upset and scared after the birth of George, and spoke about the importance of mums' seeking help. During the pandemic, she chaired a Zoom roundtable of health professionals and joined a number of calls with midwives. Throughout the pandemic, a number of her Zoom calls and phone meetings were held with medical and mental health professionals, as well as with schools, children, parents and young families. She leant her public support to the BBC's Tiny Happy People project, as well.
Tumblr media
Catherine used her resources to pull together donations for Baby Banks in the summer of 2020, and confessed to volunteering for her local Norfolk branch in her own time. The partnerships created by Catherine continue to this day. She met with parents and peers who have been supported by peer-to-peer parent-led support programmes, as well as representatives from Home-Start UK and the National Childbirth Trust. She continued her work with the Scouts, with whom she had been volunteering from the early days of her marriage, and continued to promote the importance of the outdoors, an area she really focused on when producing her Back to Nature garden in 2018. The Duchess of Cambridge also looked at miscarriages, during a visit to Tommy's. The results of her 5 Big Questions survey were shared as 5 Big Insights later that year. Catherine met with First Lady Jill Biden in 2021, with whom she co-hosted a roundtable discussion with a number of representatives from the early years sector.
Tumblr media
In 2021, Catherine finally launched the Royal Foundation's Centre for Early Childhood. Since the launch of the Centre, she has continued to develop her understanding of early neurodevelopment, and travelled to Denmark - world leader's in childhood mental health - to learn how they promote early years wellbeing. Catherine continued to focus on young people, with a long-awaited appearance on CBeebies Bedtime Stories, where she read The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark, a book she later shared was one of her childhood favourites. During the year, she became Patron of the Maternal Mental Health Alliance, adding to the other child-focused patronages she had gained over the years (including Family Action and Evelina London). Catherine hosted another roundtable to learn about the progress made by the Centre for Early Childhood and recently convened an Early Years Advisory Group. Throughout the past few years, she has attended regular "Early Years" meetings.

Case Study on China
The Great Firewall of China
Tumblr media
The Chinese government has voiced worries about the internet since 1998, viewing it as a potential source of social and political challenges to the regime's cultural values and ideology (Cawford, 2023). In response, China's Ministry of Public Security (MPS) directed the Golden Shield project, which was started in 1998 and finished in 2006 (Open Society Institute, n.d.). This initiative is a regulatory framework accompanied by an extensive system of internet censorship. According to Kerner, the western media has called it "The Great Firewall of China”, implying that it encompasses a set of tools, services, and regulations that the government of the People’s Republic of China uses to prevent access to specific online information by individuals who are physically inside its boundaries.
If you've read this far, you might be wondering how the Great Firewall of China blocks content.
Tumblr media
The Great Firewall of China uses various methods to block content. It inspects internet traffic entering and leaving China, blocking entire domains and IP address ranges. Additionally, when a user attempts to search for the blocked keywords and phrases, the Great Firewall will block and redirect the website query in a way that does not let the user access the requested information. Additionally, the firewall also actively scans network connections for potential proxy IPs used to bypass it, such as VPNs or Tor privacy networks (Kerner, n.d.).
Criticism and Concerns of the Great Firewall of China
The Chinese government has come under criticism from numerous human rights organisations for the extensive and invasive state monitoring methods used by the Great Firewall. Critics argued that China has restricted its citizens' freedom of access to information sources by enforcing the Great Firewall's strict censorship (Gisonna, 2023). To illustrate, Google holds less than a 2% market share in China, primarily due to government restrictions, with Baidu being the dominant search engine service (Seth, 2022). In March 2009, the Chinese government also banned access to YouTube after the dissemination of videos regarding security personnel beating protestors in Tibet, a region of China (Zed Biz, 2023).
According to Gisonna (2023), in spite of the Great Firewall facing criticism, numerous technology firms have yielded to the Chinese government's self-censorship guidelines, adapting their products to align with Chinese regulations. For example, Microsoft Corporation has produced an altered version of its web search engine, Bing.
China’s powerful app - WeChat
Tumblr media
WeChat was developed by Chinese technology giant Tencent Group and was first introduced in 2011 (Sapra, 2019).
As per Zhang (2018), WeChat has evolved beyond its original purpose as a messaging and social networking app. Tencent has effectively transformed WeChat into a super app, serving as a comprehensive platform where users can seamlessly access a multitude of authorized third-party services. These services range from tasks like ride-hailing, purchasing movie tickets, ordering food delivery, booking hotels, paying bills, and many other functionalities. Long story short, it is nearly impossible to do anything without access to WeChat nowadays (Sapra, 2019).
Tencent (2018) argued that “WeChat aims to embed itself in every moment of the user's daily life, from morning till night, anytime, anywhere.”
Why WeChat fails when expanding abroad?
The majority of features of WeChat were constrained due to the absence of collaboration with local suppliers to offer those services. This is why WeChat is losing its competitive edge and transforming into merely another messaging application (Seppam, 2023).
Simultaneously, as per Medium (2019), WeChat's failure can be attributed to its delayed entry into the foreign market. By the time WeChat ventured into the international market in April 2012, WhatsApp had already surpassed its innovation period, spanning from 2009 to 2011. This indicates that WeChat faced limited growth opportunities to capture the global market.
Social Credit System in China
Tumblr media
China's social credit system comprises databases and initiatives designed to monitor and evaluate the reliability of individuals, businesses, government entities, and the judiciary (Lee, 2020). It was formally introduced to the public in 2014 with the unveiling of the Outline for the Construction and Planning of the Social Credit System. In addition to looking at financial history and activity, that similar to credit rating systems in other nations, it also considers things like unethical behaviour and legal infractions (Koty & Huld, 2023).
A credit score may benefit from making good contributions to society through the establishment of social programmes, donations to charitable organisations, or other corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. A high credit score may grant access to discounted public housing or priority medical care. Conversely, engaging in such undesirable behaviour as dishonest or unlawful taxation, misleading customer behaviour, and so forth, may result in a low rating and adverse outcomes including being barred from trains and aeroplanes (Lee, 2020).
Is the social credit system a way to instill good behaviour and provide safety to citizens?
Tumblr media
From my point of view, the opinions on this question are diverse. Supporters argue that the Social Credit System could potentially improve overall societal conduct by promoting trust and integrity. They suggest that by rewarding responsible behaviour and penalising misconduct, the system could contribute to a safer and more orderly society.
On the other hand, critics express concerns about privacy violations, the potential for abuse of power, and the impact on individual freedoms. The system involves extensive surveillance and data collection, raising worries about government intervening into citizens' lives. There are fears that the system could be used for social and political control, suppressing dissent, and restricting individual freedoms.
In general, the goal of China's social credit system is to ensure that residents and companies doing business there adhere to local laws and regulations (Velocity Global, 2023). It is important to strive for a balance between the potential benefits of improved societal behaviour and the protection of individual rights.

Critical Definition: Heritage Film
Tumblr media
A Heritage film, or Period Drama or Costume Drama is a popular genre of British film and TV, which is distinctly set in the past, usually around the 19th century into the 20th century. The main characters tend to be landowning, wealthy, and upper-class, the plots usually are around who will marry who with younger characters, and ‘trouble in paradise’ stories for older characters. While these are only examples of the plots that tend to be present the writer does not have to limit themself to these. A sizable portion of Heritage films tend to be based on books of the time, for example, Jane Austen (Pride and Prejudice,1813), Emily Brontë (Wuthering Heights,1847), Agatha Christie (various Poirot books) and Charles Dickens (A Christmas Carol 1843). With the first two examples above their adaptations are very much in line with the upper-class characters and themes. Christie’s books fit into a different category but they are still set in the early 20th century with the character often being in the upper class but also incorporating classist themes at points. Dickins, however, is at the other end of the spectrum, his character still tends to be upper class but he is highly critical of them in his writings.
The genre was born in the early days of cinema and has been made by various people of non-British descent. “This venerable transnational history can be traced through the Hungarian Korda brothers’ 1930s – 1940s productions at Denham” (Monk, 2011 Page 2). The genre would keep at a somewhat steady level until the 1980s when films of this nature began to be critiqued due to the changing political climate with Margret Thatcher's more conservative government. Heritage films tend to focus on the upper classes of British polite society and their dramatic lives, the house servants being very minor characters in the narratives. The critiques were generally from the political left about how the films promote an idea of tradition and ‘heritage’ to a small group of the population.
This led to heritage films of the 1990s into the 2000s being more critical of the upper classes and their beliefs giving the servant characters more of their agency within the stories. Around the 2010’s there was almost a relapse in heritage film, “also in the light of the recent global interest in British costume productions, such as the award-winning costume series Downton Abbey” (Caoduro, Screen Vol. 54 Issue 2 2013). Downton Abbey (2010-2015) and its film (2018) and the sequel A New Age (2022) have in a way become the heritage series of the modern day, even influencing British law with the Equality Titles Bill, nicknamed the ‘downtown law’.

To invest in a precious metals IRA through 7k Metals are the general steps: Open a Self-Directed IRA Select an IRA company that handles opening precious metals IRA accounts and fill out an application. You can work with 7k Metals to recommend an IRA company and provide the necessary paperwork. However, I don't recommend doing so. Fund Your IRA Once you have selected an IRA company, you can move your funds into your new IRA account. You can work with the IRA company representative to transfer or rollover funds into the new account. Select a Precious Metals Dealer One of the forms you need to fill out along the way is typically called a Buy Direction Letter. This is where you list the precious metals dealer you have selected, such as 7k Metals. Decide Which Precious Metals to Purchase You can choose to invest in gold, silver, platinum, or palladium for your IRA. There are some restrictions regarding fineness requirements and allowable coin types, so getting guidance from 7k Metals in this area is important. SOLUTION AT Academic Writers Bay The NAFTA Tomato Wars When the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) went into effect in December 1992 and tar-iffs on imported tomatoes were dropped, U.S. tomato producers in Florida feared that they would lose busi-ness to lower-cost producers in Mexico. So they lobbied the government to set a minimum floor price for toma-toes imported from Mexico. The idea was to stop Mexican producers from cutting prices below the floor to gain share in the U.S. market. In 1996, the United States and Mexico agreed on a basic floor price of 21.69 cents a pound. At the time, both sides declared themselves to be happy with the deal. As it turns out, the deal didn’t offer much protection for U.S. tomato growers. In 1992, the year before NAFTA was passed, Mexican producers ex-ported 800 million pounds of tomatoes to the United States. By 2011, they were exporting 2.8 billion pounds of tomatoes, an increase of 3.5-fold. The value of Mexican tomato exports almost tripled over the same period, to $2 billion. In contrast, tomato production in Florida has fallen by 41 percent since NAFTA went into effect. Flor-ida growers complained that they could not compete against low wages and lax environmental oversight in Mexico. They also alleged that Mexican growers were dumping tomatoes in the U.S. market at below the cost of production, with the goal of driving U.S. producers out of business. In 2012, Florida growers petitioned the U.S. Depart-ment of Commerce to scrap the 1996 minimum price agreement, which would then free them up to file an anti-dumping case against Mexican producers. In September 2012, the Commerce Department announced a prelimi-nary decision to scrap the agreement. At first glance, it looked as if the Florida growers were going to get their way. It soon became apparent, however, that the situation was more complex than appeared at first glance. More than 370 business and trade groups in the United States—from small family-run importers to meat and vegetable producers and Wal-Mart Stores—wrote or signed letters to the Commerce Department in favor of continuing the 1996 agreement. Among the letter writers was Kevin Ahern, the CEO of Ahern Agribusiness in San Diego. His company sells about $20 million a year in tomato seeds and trans-plants to Mexican farmers. In a letter sent to The New York Times, Ahern noted that “yes, Mexico produces their tomatoes on average at a lower cost than Florida; that’s what we call competitive advantage.” Without the agreement Ahern claimed that his business would suf-fer. Another U.S. company, NatureSweet Ltd., grows cherry and grape tomatoes under 1,200 acres of green-houses in Mexico for the American market. It employs 5,000 people, although all but 100 work in Mexico. The CEO, Bryant Ambelang, said that his company couldn’t survive without NAFTA. In his view, Mexican-grown tomatoes were more competitive because of lower labor costs, good weather, and more than a decade of invest-ment in greenhouse technology. In a similar vein, Scott DeFife, a representative of the U.S. National Restau-rant Association, stated, “people want tomato-based dishes all the time. . . . You plan over the course of the year where you are going to get your supply in the win-ter, spring, fall.” Without tomatoes from Mexico, a win-ter freeze in Florida, for example, would send prices shooting up, he said. Faced with a potential backlash from U.S. importers, and from U.S. producers with interests in Mexico, the Commerce Department pulled back from its initial con-clusion that the agreement should be scrapped. Instead, in early 2013, it reached an agreement with Mexican grow-ers to raise the minimum floor price from 21.69 cents a pound to 31 cents a pound. The new agreement also es-tablished even higher prices for specialty tomatoes and tomatoes grown in controlled environments. This was clearly aimed at Mexican growers, who have invested bil-lions to grow tomatoes in greenhouses. Florida tomatoes are largely picked green and treated with gas to change their color.
Case Discussion Questions 1. Was the establishment of a minimum floor price for tomatoes consistent with the free trade principles enshrined in the NAFTA agreement? 2. Why, despite the establishment of a minimum floor price, have imports from Mexico grown over the years? 3. Who benefits from the importation of tomatoes grown in Mexico? Who suffers? 4. Do you think that Mexican producers were dumping tomatoes in the United States? 5. Was the Commerce Department right to establish a new minimum floor price rather than scrap the agreement and file an antidumping suit? Who would have benefited from an antidumping suit against Mexican tomato producers? Who would have suffered? 6. What do you think will be the impact of the new higher floor price? Who benefits from the higher floor price? Who suffers? 7. What do you think is the optimal government policy response here? Explain your answer. Dowry Death Cases In India
Dowry (dahej) is a gift given to the groom at the time of marriage in the form of either cash or things, or sometimes both. According to Indian tradition, the presents given by the bride's side before the commencement of the nuptials will enable the married couple set up and start their home smoothly.
In the 12th century, the Normans established the dowry system. Previously, the dowry was given as a gift by the husband at the church gate prior to the start of the ceremony to display the public.
In India, the dowry system dates back to the Vedic period, when a present in cash or in any other form was given to the bride by her family to ensure and preserve her independence after marriage, and this was known as "Sri Dhan."
Also Read: Property rights of women in India
During colonial times, the British made it the only legal means to marry by making dowry compulsory for marriage. The fundamental reason that the tradition of asking for a dowry is gaining traction in modern times is the groom's family's uneasiness about maintaining their reputation; the bigger the dowry, the higher the reputation is deemed. This mental process is prevalent in 90% of Indian households; only a few urban locations are devoid of these behaviors.
Dowry Death: A Legal Perspective: In 1986, Section 304 B of the Indian penal code stated the offense of dowry death in India, which is more stringent than Section 498A, which declares cruelty. Most sections of the country practice taking dowry at the time of marriage or as an advance to settle the marriage, and if the requested amount or items are not obtained during the ceremony, the marriage will not take place, and the groom and his family will refuse to accept the bride as his wife.
The Dowry Prohibition Act of 1961 makes dowry demand illegal. As a result, the "Dowry Prohibition Act," section 304 B of the Indian penal code, and section 498 A of the Indian penal code all prohibit the practice of dowry. Failure to pay dowry results in a variety of crimes against women, including physical violence, burning the woman, and mental torture.
Dowry Deaths in Different States of India: The National Crime Records Bureau in India reported about 7,000 dowry-related deaths in 2020, or roughly 19 women per day. According to the same source, more than 1,700 women committed suicide that year owing to dowry-related issues. In recent years, women have seen an increase in crime (crime against women has seen a 69% decadal increase). The kid sex ratio, on the other hand, has dropped dramatically and is now at its lowest point since independence (914 per 1,000 men).
In the 1951 Census, the child sex ratio was 983. Dowry-related incidents killed 63,171 women between 2005 and 2012, amounting to approximately 7,896 deaths each year, 658 per month, and 22 per day. In India, one woman is killed every hour as a result of dowry-related violence.
Uttar Pradesh has the largest number of dowry-related deaths, followed by Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. Dowry deaths have grown in all of these states throughout the years. Every year, the overall figures in India have climbed. With 12,254 deaths, Uttar Pradesh tops the list, followed by Bihar (7,136 deaths) and Madhya Pradesh (with 4,800 deaths).
According to a per-capita estimate of the same data, MP is the worst-affected state, with 25.4 documented dowry fatalities per million women in the state. Bihar was second with 25.2 dowry fatalities per million women, while Uttar Pradesh was third with 23. Dowry deaths in India were 8,473 in 2011, decreased to 8,092 in 2012, and now average about 8,000 per year.
Because data on child sex ratios is only available until 2011, numbers for dowry fatalities in 2011 and 2012 have been excluded from the table. When these deaths are added to those that happened between 2005 and 2010, the total number of dowry deaths is 63,171. As a result, India has lost 9,000 women on average during the last seven years. Contrary to popular misconception, neither Punjab nor Haryana are included in the list.
It should be emphasized that the number of dowry deaths is also influenced by population figures. The population of the North-Eastern states is lower than that of major states such as UP, Bihar, and MP. Dowry's prominence and dropping child sex ratio can be linked back to parents' concerns about a girl child being a liability until marriage and the opposite belief that a boy would take care of them, earn a living, and so on.
The three poorest states—Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh—are collectively responsible for an approximately 15-point drop in the child sex ratio. It's worth noting that youngster sex ratios have risen in the majority of states with fewer than one dowry mortality per day during the last five years.
Punjab and Haryana's patriarchal cultures have done an excellent job of increasing the child sex ratio and minimizing dowry mortality. In this data stacking technique, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir are outliers since the states have not documented dowry fatalities despite having a lower child sex ratio.
Overall, dowry fatalities are increasing in the majority of Indian states. The child sex ratio, which has been decreasing over time—from 962 in 1981 to 945 in 1991 to 927 in 2001--is now 914. A quick calculation reveals that there are 16 fewer girls than boys in every Census due to the dowry deaths of about 80,000 persons (8,000 each year) (an average drop between 1981 to 2011). It's worth noting that there were 6,851 dowry fatalities in total in 2001, with a child sex ratio of 927.
The child sex ratio fell by 13 points as dowry deaths increased to 8,473 in 2011 (a 23% decadal increase).
As a result, women in both rural and urban areas are becoming more educated, employed, and empowered. Increased dowry deaths, which alter the child sex ratio, are, however, alarming if not addressed immediately. Laws prohibiting abortion and dowry, as well as coordinated government activities, do not appear to be having the desired effect. Evidently, even strict rules are insufficient to change people's attitudes about women.

Whether section 48 of the GVAT Act, 2003 override section 53 of the IBC?
INTRODUCTION
Did you know that government secured debt can also be at the same level of priority as workman’s dues in the waterfall mechanism under the IBC? The recent Supreme court ruling in judgment State Tax Officer (1) Vs Rainbow Papers Limited[1] sheds light on this unexplored area of IBC jurisprudence.
BRIEF HISTORY OF THE PARTIES
Respondent was engaged in the business of manufacture and sale of Crafts and Oars within and outside the State of Gujarat. An amount of Rs.53,71,65,489/- was due from the Respondent to the Sales Tax authorities. On or about 8th July, 2016, recovery proceedings were initiated against the respondent, in respect of its dues for the year 2011- 2012, and the appellant attached the property of the respondent being land estate.
The appellant filed a claim before the RP, claiming that Rs.47.36 crores was due and payable by the respondent to the appellant towards its dues under the GVAT Act. After admission of the CIRP and appointment of the RP, one Kushal Limited submitted a Resolution Plan. Various Creditors had objected to the Resolution Plan. The Resolution Professional informed the appellant that the entire claim of the appellant had been waived off.
The appellant challenged the resolution plan before the Ahmedabad bench of the NCLT which was dismissed on reasons of maintainability. The order was challenged before NCLAT under section 61[2] of the IBC.
DECISION OF NCLAT
NCLAT held that appellant’s claims came at a belated stage i.e., after approval of the ‘Resolution Plan’ by the Adjudicating Authority. Further, appellant would fall under the category of ‘operational creditor’ as defined in section 5(21)[3] of the IBC. Adding to it, the Adjudicating authority held that, since Government cannot claim first charge over the property of the ‘Corporate Debtor’. Section 48 cannot prevail over Section 53.
CONTENTIONS
1.       The appellant-state contended that the Books of Accounts of the Corporate Debtor reflected the liability of the Corporate Debtor to the State in respect of its statutory dues. In abdication of its mandatory duty, the RP failed to examine the Books of Accounts of the Corporate Debtor, verify and include the same in the information memorandum and make provision for the same in the Resolution Plan.
2.       The counsels of appellants further argued that Regulation 12[4] of the 2016 Regulations which deals with the time period for submission of a claim along with proof, as stipulated in the public announcement under Section 15[5] of the IBC is not mandatory but only directory.
3.       The appellants also submitted that the mere fact that a creditor might be an operational creditor would not result in loss of status of that operational creditor as a secured creditor.
DECISION OF THE SUPREME COURT
a.       State is a secured creditor under GVAT, 2003
Section 48 of the GVAT Act which is set out herein below:
“Tax to be first charge on property — Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in any law for the time being in force, any amount payable by a dealer or any other person on account of tax, interest or penalty for which he is liable to pay to the Government shall be a first charge on the property of such dealer, or as the case maybe, such person.”
The claim of the Tax Department of the State, squarely falls within the definition of “Security Interest” under Section 3(31) of the IBC and the State becomes a secured creditor under Section 3(30) of the Code. The mere fact that a creditor might be an operational creditor would not result in loss of status of that operational creditor as a secured creditor.
It was held by Supreme court that. the Committee of Creditors (CoC), which might include financial institutions and other financial creditors, cannot secure their own dues at the cost of statutory dues owed to any Government or Governmental Authority or for that matter, any other dues.
It further held that:
“The State is a secured creditor under the GVAT Act. Section 3(30) of the IBC defines secured creditor to mean a creditor in favour of whom security interest is credited. Such security interest could be created by operation of law. The definition of secured creditor in the IBC does not exclude any Government or Governmental Authority.”
b.      Delay in filing claim
The learned ASG pointed out that the Appellant had made its claim to the RP long before the resolution plan was approved by the CoC under Section 30(4) of the IBC. Yet, the RP did not include the claim in the Resolution Plan. The court observed that delay in filing a claim cannot be the sole ground for rejecting the claim.
c.       Role of RP and Resolution plan
Under Section 31 of the IBC, a resolution plan as approved by the Committee of Creditors under Section 30(4)[6] might be approved by the Adjudicating Authority only if the Adjudicating Authority is satisfied that the resolution plan as approved by the Committee of Creditors meets the requirements as referred to in Section 30(2) of IBC. The condition precedent for approval of a resolution plan is that the resolution plan should meet the requirements of Section 30(2) of the IBC.
Supreme court reiterated observation in ‘Ebix Singapore Private Limited v. Committee of Creditors of Educomp Solutions Limited and Another[7]’:
“Essentially, the adjudicating authority functions as a check on the role of the RP to ensure compliance with Section 30(2) IBC and satisfies itself that the plan approved by the CoC can be effectively implemented as provided under the proviso to Section 31(1) IBC. Once the resolution plan is approved by the adjudicating authority, it becomes binding on the corporate debtor and its employees, members, creditors, guarantors and other stakeholders involved in the resolution plan...”.
d.      Consistency between IBC and GVAT, 2003
As for inconsistency between GVAT, 2003 and IBC, 2016, the SC observed that NCLAT clearly erred in its observation that Section 53 of the IBC over-rides Section 48 of the GVAT Act. Section 53 of the IBC begins with a non-obstante clause. The same is given as follows: -
“Not withstanding anything to the contrary contained in any law enacted by the Parliament or any State Legislature for the time being in force, the proceeds from the sale of the liquidation assets shall be distributed in the following order of priority...........”
As held by Supreme court, Section 48 of the GVAT Act is not contrary to or inconsistent with Section 53 or any other provisions of the IBC. Under Section 53(1)(b)(ii), the debts owed to a secured creditor, which would include the State under the GVAT Act, are to rank equally with other specified debts including debts on account of workman’s dues for a period of 24 months preceding the liquidation commencement date.
CONCLUSION
This judgment gives clarity on the limitation of section 53 as it reflects in the non-obstante clause. Secured debts of the government including those created by virtue of GVAT, 2003 cannot be left unenforced on account of it being undefined in the IBC. This judgment opens a new avenue for creditors to enforce their security interest, even if it is not explicitly defined in the IBC legislation.

Who invested in Instagram ?
Tumblr media
Instagram is a photo sharing app with a focus on mobile photography. The app was founded by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger in 2009 and has since gained over 1 billion active users. We hope you found the list of brands and products useful! If not, be sure to check out our blog for more helpful advice. Thanks for reading! If you're looking for an answer to the question "who invested in instagram," then you've come to the right place! Here on this page, we will provide you with all the information you need in order to understand just that. From the people who created and developed it, to the businesses and organisations that are currently using it for their marketing campaigns, we will make sure that you know everything there is to know about Instagram. So, what are you waiting for? Start reading! History of Instagram Instagram was officially launched on 21st April 2010. Isn't that quite a long time ago? Yes, it is! In fact, Instagram has come so far since then and yet still manages to maintain its popularity among tech-savvy users all across the globe. Although social media's evolution over such an extended period of time usually doesn't cause any problems or issues for the biggest companies out there, this case with Instagram is different because... actually, there were two main problems one year ago. We will explain! Platform Meltdown of 2011 and Growing Competition vs Facebook-owned company Mark Zuckerberg announced Instagram's official launch as a way to supplement his website with another one so that he can maintain control over the app but this kind of made things a lot more complicated for everyone involved. The third-party developers who wanted access to "Instagram 2" did not get it because the active app was activated on Zuckerberg's website but that is not the end of this story. As a result, some users started stealing Instagram 2 and using it for their own purposes – each platform being used by different people with different goals in mind! Instagram Competition & Growth Since 2011 There have been times when the market share we mentioned previously makes no sense at all because there were other apps out there which competed against Instagram – not to mention its feature set. However, the truth is that Instagram managed to keep its grip on the market thanks to a couple of things: first of all, it offered users something new and different every day which made it hard for other apps to achieve such an impact; secondly, Facebook's purchaseBack in 2012 – just before Facebook bought WhatsApp – allowed Instagram more control over user data and information which further boosted its position. Till this day, there are no signs that Instagram can let go off its dominance – unlike the situation we witnessed with WhatsApp which is now in an even better position just because of that. How Instagram Went From Idea to $1 Billion in Less Than Two Years The Instagram is a line of smart phones that are different from one another in their design, features and use. The photos can be read on the screens individually or it will display them as 2-minute video clips. Nowhere else you're going to find mobile devices so visually appealing which makes viewing your artistic creations or art photography spectacular! In this era when we all take good care about our appearance no matter what kind of smartphone we possess, having this kind of a phone is basically essential! Although it's not really that good for watching videos or doing other things on the device, Instagram adds more value to your mobile experience. Why so? Because by having an account on this social network you can access all its gorgeous photo albums either via Facebook or even if you'd want to keep away from communication with people directly and just share pictures online (as well as at any other place such as forums and blogs ), Instagram is that kind of software the can really take your mobile photography to another level. If you have an account, then it's easy to upload and share pictures into various albums so as a text message. That way saving time on searching through but never mind because someone at some point told all – skipping files this or deleting that option or even completely getting rid of messages etc..! There's also still more things in regard to using Instagram (it 's great, one of the greatest things I reckon) that you can see here. Most importantly Instagram has such a easy-to-use software for your smartphone or mobile phone no matter what it's built like: Nokia 5800 Xpress Music and more recently iPhone. Even though many secrets are locked behind those annoying passwords, there is something new in every age of technology! If everyone jumps on a bandwagon to be late with an idea but pay close attention to workmanship, this unique application is worth installing today by you. Just compare a few screenshots of iPhone and Windows Mobile here (further down in the article) Any suggestions or recommendations? Do let us know :)! And feel free to check out other social apps – how do they manage those features? Oculus Rhol Service exclusively via GearVR . In case if you are displaying an interest for learning about what should have been done with VR in the next 5-10 years, then check out this Rhol Service Demo on GearVR. Extra details about this GearVR application are embedded in an article . Please feel free to check out an article related to this. Why is Oculus Rhol Service not available on GearVR? As I sometimes predict things and as it's currently a bright future in the VR field, you may think what will happen sooner than expected with augmented reality utilizing the new technology of virtual and mixed realities etc.. How cool would it be if your phone displays everything real-time. Maybe we could all have whiteboards installed somewhere for quick revisions during meetings etc. Augmented reality is definitely a step in the right direction, however Oculus Rhol Service does not currently utilize this technology. That being said, I think it's still very early days for VR and AR – so it's possible that an update may change this in the near future. the best, trending, top and popular Instagram hashtags for investing. After graduating from the National Institute of Fashion Technology in 2008, Nitya had a revelation that inspired her to forgo traditional fashion design in favour of exploring evening wear in a fresh way using handcrafted craftsmanship.
After graduating, Nitya Bajaj went on to participate in the reality competition "Lets Design," where contestants battled it out to design the greatest outfits with the fewest materials and the shortest period of time. She never looked back after that.
Prior to setting up Label Designer Nitya Bajaj completed an internship at Orient Craft, a renowned export business, where she created knitwear for companies including Zara, Next, and Abercrombie & Fitch. She also handled the creative style and brand aesthetics for the multi-designer boutique Kimaya in New Delhi. Nitya was inspired by her love of fashion and gained experience working with designers like Pam Mehta, Ankur and Priyanka Modi, and Prashant Verma.
Nitya had a significant year in 2008. She was selected as one of the winners of Wills Lifestyle's "The Debut," a programme that aimed to inspire fashion students by honouring and rewarding exceptional ability. She then started her entrepreneurial adventure after being inspired to create her own brand.
Nitya Bajaj: The Brand
2011, the birth of the brand NITYA BAJAJ, which specialises in luxurious traditional and modern Indian evening clothing as well as striking neckpieces. The brand's development of classy, feminine clothing embraces womanhood.
The designer label depicts the many, multidimensional lifestyles of modern women who value elegant, pricey, and enduring works of art as apparel. Each individually created item by Label Nitya Bajaj is a beautiful representation of uniqueness. Ethereal luxury is associated with the brand.
The brand takes pride in its fine craftsmanship, attention to detail, and its iconic line of western gowns, dresses, and skirts that have gained international acclaim while retaining their fundamentally Indian aesthetic.
The first foreign buyer for the Nitya Bajaj label came from Libya in 2008, and purchases from New Zealand, Australia, and the UK soon followed.
After winning a special mention prize in the Swarovski Jewelry Design Competition in 2011, the NITYA BAJAJ label debuted a line of evening wear with crystallised accents at the EPCH Jewelry Expo. Following two seasons in Pune fashion weeks in 2012 and 2013 and Rajasthan fashion week in 2013, the brand debuted their first Summer resort collection at Lakme Fashion Week in 2012.
The brand has done it all, from producing a special resort-wear and neckwear line for the Kingfisher Calendar Hunt 2013 competitors to private previews with companies like Shri Raj Mahal Jewellers, Nomarks, and VLCC.
Additionally, the designer has worked with well-known companies to create exclusive, limited edition pieces for them, including Swarovski, La Bante, and Johnny Rocket.
All of this has contributed to the brand's enormous level of global awareness, and it is now housed in a number of multi-brand boutiques in India, Indonesia, London, and Dubai.
Nitya Bajaj, a designer, is a proponent of humanitarian work. Label Nitya Bajaj believes that it's important to give back to the community as part of their social responsibility and donates a portion of their sales to charity.
The company backs "Joining Hands," a Mamta Charitable Foundation that tackles Indian poverty by giving free food to the poor. In addition, Label Nitya Bajaj collaborates with Nirmal Seva, Arya Boys Gurukul, and Arya Kanya Gurukul to assist education in India by giving free education and other amenities to underprivileged Indian children.
Nitya is a one-man army, thus her best asset is her confidence. A dedicated staff that functions more like a family supports that.
The constantly fashionable Nitya is always interested in learning about new trends, predictions, designers, and their collections around the globe.
She is adamant that learning happens every day. Her love of learning and willingness to accept information from anyone and everywhere keeps her current.
Nitya regards fashion as a personal trait that distinguishes an individual, and she holds international designers Giambattista Valli and Elie Saab in high regard for their sense of style.
NITYA BAJAJ is dazzled with her intricate details and its strong sense of beauty. Besides an illustrious list of Indian actresses like Sonam Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Gauhar Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Minissha Lamba, Prachi Desai, Sonal Chauhan, Vidya Malvade, Riya Sen, Raima sen, Kalki Koechlin, Shibani Dhandekar, Payal Rohatgi, Kanishtha Dhankar, Mallika Haydon, Sonakshi Sinha, Nimrat Kaur, Neha Dhupia, Mugdha Godse, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sharma and Karishma Tanna to name a few; the brand has been encouraged by Fashion magazines like Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Femina, Hello, Hi Blitz and Stardust.

First part of first draft of a short story for my Honors US Lit class. Of course I had to write about Dan, so it's drawing inspiration from the Bad Blood and Flaws music video, as well as Haunt and Sleepsong. Dan wakes up on a beach, unknowingly to himself as a ghost, and has to figure out what has happened and will eventually find himself back on the cliffs above the sea, discovering that's where he jumped from and why he did what he did. Amazing how writing about something you're interested in can make you so much more motivated.
The waves steadily beat against the distant cliff side. Water laps up onto the sand of the beach, reaching my fingertips, threatening to encroach upon me closer as the tide begins to come in. The air is heavy with salt and humidity, which have collected on my skin. I sit up, my joints cracking and my muscles protesting at the change of position, and brush sand off the back of my arms, and attempt to clear it from the collar of my jacket.
“What time is it,” I think to myself.
I look towards the sky, grey and cloud filled, giving me no evidence to the question I ponder. There's a chill in the air, and I unconsciously pull my jacket sleeves down my hands. I run my hands through my hair, which is tangled and matted. It must have gotten wet at some point, since salt has left behind a residue on the strands, and sand still sticks to the nape of my neck. I push up my glasses, wondering how they somehow have stayed on my face.
Wait. Since when do I wear glasses? I've had bad eyesight since I was a child, but I've almost always worn contacts. I always thought my glasses looked bad on me.
I look around at my surroundings, as if a lonely pile of rocks, or a few search and rescue boats in the distance will help solve my mystery.
I wonder who they're looking for. I pity the poor soul who fell into the bay on a day like this. Tourists come to sightsee, and every winter inevitably one will fall off the cliffs after messing around and will have to be dragged out. If they're lucky, that is. While part of the cliffs are safe for diving, the cliffs closer to me are prone to breaking, and the water below is notoriously deep and murky, scattered with jagged rocks that could tear open your leg if you fell onto it. I've seen it happen.
As I reminisce on memories of my earlier youth spent on the beach, a thought occurs to me.
“Where am I?”
I know this area. I've been to it many times. I have good and bad memories of time spent here. But I cannot think of where exactly I am. Suddenly, the scenery looks more foreign, the sea birds’ calls more ominous. My slightly damp letterman jacket is no longer keeping me warm. I run my hands through my hair once more.
I better go home, I guess? I don't know where I am, or why I'm here, but I guess that's the best next course of action, right?
But, wait, where is home either?
I rack my brain, frantically pulling at the longer dark brown hair atop my head, and dragging my fingers through my short undercut
Why can't I remember? What is happening? Do I even know who I am?
I pat my pockets, hoping to find a clue to jog my brain. I try not to think about the fact that at the moment my own name is escaping me, that somehow my own identity is just… not there… somehow. I feel something in my jeans, a wallet, an ID. Thank god.
“Daniel C. Smith”
Oh yeah. How could I forget (I still don't remember and that terrifies me, but once again, avoiding the thought).
And here's my address, “26 Church Hill, Arnside, Carnforth.” Of course it is (Is it?). (FYI: real place, definitely not dans real address. I just found a random town in England that was by the sea and some cliffs and took the address of some apartment buildings)
I struggle to get up into my feet. My bones feel like I had been laying on the sand for years (How long had I been here?), and I stretch my back and arms. Looking around, I walk away from the waves and towards what looks like a main road. There's a store front of a liquor store and a bakery, and what looks like a few boutiques. A lady walking a small dog walks by, the dog stopping to stare and bark at me, the lady annoyed and hurried to quiet him and keep going.
As I walk down the road, I figure my best option is to keep going and hoping that it will lead me to meet up with my street. I don't recognize anything, but everything feels achingly familiar, like I had been here many years ago on holiday as a child, before my memory could concretely store what I saw. I shuffle along, trying not to notice the ache in my body, the headache pounding in my temples, the thoughts circling my brain like an albatross over the sea.
