Your eyes only faintly widen at his words, and the Iudex only smiles at that faintly, chuckling softly as his free hand trails up behind your head, slowly running through your hair, before he grips it tightly, almost in a harsh manner, contrasting the sweetness of his words.

"I do hope you know well that this night is still far from its end, ma bien-aimée. We very well have a long way to go before it culminates."

you can tell i was a former mcyt fan bc i immediately reverted to big hat on lady deaths design. i did end up making the hat like sorta weird lil flubby things that kinda flop round on the sides of his crown + veil but err. anyway her design is loosely based off one of my favourite portraits of tsarina alexandra feodorovna / charlotte of prussia (one where she has this bigass fuckin crown and veil on. its so gorgeous and her outfit is so beautiful). lady death is one of the designs where id imagine she sorta switches between whatever form he likes best so i refer to her using whatever prns feel right in the moment

as for war their design is also not at all finalized but i wanted to use medieval armor and also a skeleton somehow.... so, skull helmet

ill make more modern like designs of them later but i needed to get these out the way first

Cardinal of Judgement & Order.

An old, old god who stood the test of time, & is one of the few Gods- besides the main Bishops- to survive into the current era, as folks never REALLY lost faith in order. They’re incredibly inexpressive in all ways except body language.

Oversees divine disputes & more important matters in a trial sense. Their very few followers act as assistants during these. (They may also call in followers of other Gods, depending on the issue at hand)

Fair in judgment and rulings, can literally see into folks souls to weigh their conscious. But they're VERY extreme with their punishments- they believe in an eye for an eye; ie. if you steal, your hands cut off, if you lie to a God, your tongue. Very driven by their duties & has little concern over faith or worship.

They were the one to oversee Narinders trial (which was instigated by Shamura); originally sympathetic to Narinders fear of the Old Gods disappearing/dying (which resulted in Narinders aggression & paranoia originally), they gave him a fairly light punishment in light of all that he was being trialed for. (His need for change when things could not, the near extinction of Avians indirectly caused by him once Verrier disappeared, among other things)

As a result of being punished at all, Narinder lashed out at both Iudex and the four other Bishops, causing their injuries. As a result, his punishment became his permanent banishment.
