Okay, so, my thoughts on this. Crocodile having to hold back the 'we traded genders' joke is so damn real and I laughed SO hard. Love him. So true. Trust the process, girls, you're in good hands). So Cross Guild and the Strawhats end up alone and waiting for their girls to come back. And. Yeah. Uncomfortable. Crocodile and Mihawk are having... A moment. The thing I really dislike about IV:A is how chatty all the characters are. We don't need to hear every single Partner's opinion after every event. One of the things that I like about SMT games is character dialogue is sparse and therefore less like noisy chatter. Law Hero infamously saying, "Try not to feel too bad" after that shocking event early on in SMT wouldn't hit as hard if you also heard the comic relief character, the goth loli assassin and the onee-san react as well.

Erika joined Marcus on the promise that he help mask her identity and facilitate her move to Berlin. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 54 years, Jean Herchenhahn; his parents, A.B. and Iva Herchenhahn, two brothers, Allen Herchenhahn and Fred Herchenhahn; and five sisters, Lucille Jones, Jean Brunson, Gayle Mattheiss, Dawn Gunderson, and Louise Bates.

Jim loved his family dearly and will be most missed by his three children, Janna (Jeff) Attoe of Hampstead, Jay (Gina) Herchenhahn of Lancaster, SC, and Joy (Brad) Barth of Kernersville, NC; grandchildren Jensen (Ray) Rivera, Jonah Attoe, Jayse Attoe, Kalli Herchenhahn, Kassi Herchenhahn, Khloe Herchenhahn, Caleb Herchenhahn, Cooper Barth, Colton Barth, and Copley Barth; great-grandchildren, Vincent and Halston Rivera; two sisters, Wilma Jones and Judy Ray; many nieces and nephews. Janna, Jay and Joy would like to thank Steve and Joanna Groves, David Groves, and Tom Hayden for faithfully and lovingly caring for our dad. We would also like to acknowledge and thank David  and Cathy Lane, Edna Lancaster, Mark and Nancy Cramer, and Jimmy Sibbett for loving our dad and being the hands and feet of Jesus in dads time of need.

Jimmy Dale was born April 25, 1941 in Macedonia, Mississippi. During his junior year of high school in Pensacola, Florida, he received Christ as his Savior under the ministry of Dr. Dolphus Price.  As a senior, he surrendered to preach the Gospel.  He attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina before serving two years with the United States Army. He was a Vietnam Veteran.

Jim finished his college education at Tennessee Temple College in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was involved in many aspects of college life including playing on the baseball team and serving as student body President. It was there that he met and married his sweetheart. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1968.  He pastored the Fellowship Baptist Church in Trion, Georgia for three and a half years during his tenure at TTC and afterwards. Then in 1970, the Lord called the Herchenhahns to Wilmington to work at Grace Baptist Church—first as Assistant Pastor under Dr. Ray Noland, and then starting in 1971 as Senior Pastor of Grace and President of Wilmington Christian Academy.   

The Lord used Pastor Herchenhahn in a great way during his thirty-six years in leadership of the church and school.  Hundreds of people came to know the Lord under his ministry, and many others grew in their faith.  A number of men and women were called to various areas of “full-time Christian service” under his leadership.  Many missionaries, pastors, teachers, and others are still serving the Lord around the world.

He retired from Grace at the end of December 2006. That freed them up to do some short-term mission work in Guam. After that he began filling pulpits for preachers in and around the Wilmington area. That ministry led them to Riley’s Creek Baptist Church in 2010, where he was called to be their Senior Pastor. He retired from Riley’s Creek in 2021 for the primary purpose of taking care of his beloved wife and soulmate who was declining in health. He wanted to spend as much time with her as he possibly could, and that he did.

Only eternity will reveal the impact of the life and ministry of Pastor J.D. Herchenhahn. He was an exemplary pastor, faithfully preaching the Word and sharing the gospel, as well as humbly serving and caring for people. He often quoted these lines from a poem: “Others, Lord, yes, others, let this my motto be, “help me to live for others, that I may live like Thee.” He certainly reflected Jesus through his life.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Grace Baptist Church, 1401 North College Road, Wilmington, with a  memorial service honoring Pastor Herchenhahn will be immediately following. Close family friend and co-laborer Rev. Mike Meshaw will officiate along with Rev. David Lancaster and Rev. Jay Knolls.. There will be a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at  Oleander Memorial Gardens. with Rev. Brian Beaver conducting the service.

In lieu of flowers  memorials  may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Foundation, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401. We will be forever grateful for their gentle care and compassion given to our dad.

Hi! About the LATAM prices, I frecuently saw comments from some fans that are from the US or Europe who talk about how Louis puts affordable prieces in tickets etc. I don't know how affordable was this year but personally I always tought that the concept of affordable from Louis, his team and some fans from the US and Europe is really different from someone that lives in LATAM. As someone who lives in México, the prieces he puts in merch or his clothing line is impossible for me to buy. I guess if they are coming from a context with higher economy in their point of view, the prieces in comparison to others could look affordable but for me at least I don't see the affordable aspect beacause the context and economy is totally different. The prieces for tickets in México are expensive because you buy the ticket plus iva and charges from service from ticketmaster and I choose the less expensive one. I think we have to see his ticket and merch prices in a country in comparison to other artists ticket prices and merch prices in the same country to see if it's cheaper or not. Due to inflation you have to compare same years as well. Tickets and merch will always be cheaper in richer countries and more expensive in poorer countries. He probably could have charged way more for the tickets he sold here in Norway, they were pretty cheap here, but he didn’t sell out even if the tickets were cheap (like 70-80 ish us dollars for pit, and pit didn’t sell out). I think demand also plays a role in pricing. He could charge more in latam, because he has a lot of latam fans and he doesn’t go there too often. People don't want to miss it. That presses the prices even more up. I've seen some say that it's cheaper to get on a plane and fly to Europe, buy a ticket to a show and fly back, than it is buying a ticket in your own country. That's pretty fucked up.

The Whitley would serve with Bomber Command and Coastal Command during the early years of the Second World War and was used in Operation Biting to help capture German radar. Used for special operations at RAF Tempsford the Armstrong Whitworth Whitley would also be used by British Overseas Airways Corporation.

Armstrong Whitworth Whitley

During the early to mid 1930s the Royal Air Force was heavily reliant on biplane aircraft and was urgently trying to modernise its aircraft. So with the issuing in July 1934 of Specification B.3/34 the Air Ministry were looking for a twin-engined heavy night bomber. Armstrong Whitworth's submission to this specification would be led by the company's chief designer John Lloyd. With design work in progress the need for more modern aircraft within the RAF was shown by an order for 80 Whitleys being placed seven months before the prototype flew.

The prototype would be ready for its maiden flight on the 17th March 1936 at Whitley Abbey with Alan Campbell-Orde at the controls, with power supplied by a pair of Armstrong Siddeley Tiger X engines. Its monocoque structure was made of light alloy, which saw Armstrong Whitworth move away from their usual steel tube construction. Trials of the Royal Air Force's new bomber were done in Autumn 1936 at Martlehsam Heath by the Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment. A second prototype would have a specially written specification for it, B.21/35, and this made its maiden flight on the 24th February 1937, powered by the Tiger XI engine, and was flown by Charles Turner Hughes.

The Whitley would enter service during March 1937 with No. 10 Squadron based at RAF Dishforth receiving their first Mk Is on the 9th, to replace their Handley Page Heyford aircraft. Able to house a crew of up to 5, armament would consist of a single 0.303-in Vickers machine-gun in nose and tail turrets which were manually operated and designed by Armstrong Whitworth. Of the original order of 80, 34 would be Mk Is whilst the rest would be Mk Iis which were powered by Tiger VIII engines which featured a two-speed supercharger. A further order for 80 Whitleys was placed and these would be the Mk III. The armament on this new variant was upgraded, firstly the bomb-bay was changed to allow larger bombs to be carried, the nose turret was changed to a Nash and Thompson turret which was power operated and two more machine-guns in the form of 0.303-in Brownings were added to a new retractable turret underneath the fuselage.

Flying from Hucknall on the 11th February 1938 a Whitly Mk I was tested with Rolls-Royce Merlin IIs, however the programme was suspended after the second flight which had to be curtailed due to engine failure. After the test programme was resumed the aircraft was sent to the A&AEE at Martlesham Heath for further tests during April and May.

The next production version, which first flew on the 5th April 1939, was the Mk IV which featured a number of changes. The first change saw the aircraft now powered by the 1,030-hp Rolls-Royce Merlin IV engine. The second change saw a pair of wing tanks added whilst other changes included improvements to the bomb-aimers view with the addition in the lower nose of a clear panel. The armament for the rear gunner was also upgraded to four 0.303-in Browing guns in a Nash and Thompson power-operated turret. Powered by the 1,145-hp Merlin X seven Whitley Mk IVAs were produced alongside 26 Mk IVs.

Further changes to the design saw the Whitley Mk V appear which was to be the most produced version and would also be powered by Merlin engines. Once again fuel capacity was improved and extra fuel could be carried in the bomb-bay if needed. On the leading edges of the wings rubber de-icer boots were added. The rear of the aircraft was also redesigned to increase the rear gunner's field of fire, this would see the rear fuselage lengthened 1ft 3in. The fins was also given straight leading edges. In total 1,466 Mk Vs were built.

With the Rolls-Royce Merlin in demand for use in a number of aircraft a Pratt & Whitney powered Whitley Mk VI was considered in case Merlin engines became unavailable. In the end this proposed aircraft would never go into production. Based on the Mk V the Whitley Mk VII was designed for operational service with Coastal Command. This would see the installation of Air-to-Surface Vessel Mk II radar and the fitting in the rear of the fuselage and bomb-bay of additional fuel tanks. A total of 146 would be built.

Armstrong Whitworth Whitleys were in action with Bomber Command on the same day as Britain and France declared war on Germany, 3rd September 1939, when 10 aircraft flew over Bremen, Hamburg and the Ruhr in Germany dropping leaflets. It would be the Whitley that became the first Royal Air Force bomber to operate over Berlin, Germany when three Whitley Mk IVs from No. 10 Squadron dropped propaganda leaflets over the city on the 1st October 1939, losing one aircraft. Whitleys would also take part in the first bombing raid on Berlin, Germany on the 25th August 1940 alongside the Handley Page Hampden and Vickers Wellington. The type would also be called on the day after Italy declared war on Britain and France when on the 11th June 1940 raids were carried out on Genoa and Turin. However of the 36 aircraft that took part only 13, 36% of the total force, reached their target as both engine problems and weather hampered the operation.

With the Short Stirling and Handley Page Halifax four-engined bombers now in service and with the Avro Lancaster entering service the Whitley's time in Bomber Command was coming to an end. Its last official sortie took place on the 29th April 1942 with a raid on Ostend, Belgium. However Whitleys from Operational Training Units would take part in the raid on Cologne, Germany on the 30th May that year in the first ever '1,000 Bomber' attack codenamed Operation Millennium.

The Whitley would also serve with Coastal Command and its service with the Command began when No. 58 Squadron were seconded in September 1939. This would see them patrol over the English Channel until February 1940 when they operated as part of Bomber Command again. Other Whitley squadrons would also patrol over the Bay of Biscay. It would take over 2 years before the type scored its first U-boat victory when on the 30th November 1941 No. 502 Squadron sank U-205 in the Bay of Biscay.

The type would also be used for a number of special operations. These included Operation Columba which saw homing pigeons dropped over occupied Europe in the hope that people who came across the pigeons could provide intelligence on German military activities in the area. It would be on the 8th April 1941 that a Whitley would perform the first drop of pigeons for the operation. The aircraft was also involved in Operation Biting on the 27th February 1942 which saw them drop paratroopers at Bruneval, France for what was a successful mission to capture parts of German radar. Two squadrons, Nos. 138 and 161, would also serve at RAF Tempsford undertaking special duties. This involved supplying arms and equipment to the Resistance and transport agents by parachute drop into occupied countries.

Other duties for the Whitley saw it used as a glider tug and for parachute training. During May 1942 the British Overseas Airways Corporation received 15 Mk Vs which had their armament removed and fuel tanks added to the bomb-bays. These would be used by BOAC on their Gibraltar to Malta route.

By the time the last Armstrong Whitworth Whitley rolled of the production line a total of 1,815 had been built.

This is the first time I had noticed something like this in Detroit Jewish News. I was looking for articles they may have published about rent control under OPA--specifically whether they might have run any op-eds about its extension or expiration in the early fifties. The ad (1942) is for a "colored property manager"--which is to say, likely, a black property manager whose job was to manage property rented by black people. The ad, run in the Jewish news, presumed to target landlords. There are some references to building managers in Beryl Satter's Family Properties--incredible book about jewish cities and black housing (I'm avoiding That Phrase, lol). Nathan Connolly's A World More Concrete (one of my favorite works of historical writing) picks up black landlords, managers of black rental housing, rent collectors, and black entrepreneurship in jim crow politics. But I hadn't seen this before. Here's what Isabell Management's listings looked like in the Detroit Free Press's classifieds:

I had just been showing R. some examples of "colored property" listings, so I sent him these. I had recommended Satter's book because there's a Bloomfield Hills mega landlord we've dealt with whose story is this story: a Jewish family willing to toe the color line--rentals, contract sales--for profit. I wanted to know who was behind Isabell Management and if my hunches were correct. Got lucky with a search on those hunches. I found a black social worker for the Detroit Welfare Department in 1940 named Iva (sometimes Ivy) Isabell. She was married to a man named George Isabell, who on the 1950 census was listed as a realtor.

Isabell Management was his company, and I probably should have known who he was--a minor celebrity in Detroit desegregation politics, appointed to housing commission by Cobo in response to criticism of his segregationist regime. Isabell was a director of Brewster homes. But a realtor first (and I think probably somewhat involved with "desegregating" "realtors associations" and so on.) It doesn't appear that Isabell placed any ads for "colored property management" in the Free Press! I'd like to know which Jewish landlords he might have worked with.

He placed (Jewish) holiday greetings in the Jewish News throughout the fifties, iconic (now I will say the phrase) Black-Jewish Relations. Now I am wondering how many black people and businesses placed such ads in the Jewish News that I never noticed!

The UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague has increased prison sentences on two top former Serbian security officials.

Jovica Stanišic and Franko Simatovic were convicted of training death squads accused of ethnic cleansing during the break-up of Yugoslavia.

They will serve 15 years instead of the 12 they were originally given in 2021.

The court's final verdict on the former Yugoslavia is also the first to prove a direct link between the Serbian state and a campaign of ethnic cleansing.

Mr Stanisic, a former head of Serbia's State Security Service, and his deputy, Franko Simatovic, a senior intelligence operative, were key allies of Serbia's late ex-President Slobodan Milosevic.

The court found the spymasters guilty of establishing training camps and deploying infamous death squads, the paramilitary units called the Red Berets.

They were also held responsible for involvement in crimes across Bosnia and in one town in Croatia as members of a joint criminal plan to eliminate non-Serbs from swathes of land during the Balkan wars.

Following the judgment, Kada Hotic, a former seamstress in Srebrenica whose husband's body was found in a mass grave, spoke to the BBC sitting near a fountain outside the tribunal and reflected on her decades long quest to find the truth.

"I'm looking at this beautiful blue sky and this building of the ICTY which managed to bring us partial justice. I lost my sons, my two children, my brothers, I cannot live in my Srebrenica, I just live to fight for justice. I want people to live in a country and not kill each other, we are all just humans," she said.

Ms Hotic - who also lost her son and two brothers in the genocide - was born in 1945 and never met her father, who died fighting the Nazis in the World War Two.

She told the BBC she that she regretted that her mother never fought for justice for her father, and that she hopes this ruling will inspire others.

But as Dr Iva Vukuvic, assistant professor in international history at Utrecht University explains, the length of the legal process which spanned two decades, underscores the complexity of proving war crimes in international courts, and highlights some of the challenges for those investigating Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

"It sends a message, it's worth working on this, it's worth documenting, it's worth investigating, there is hope in that regard, and not all is lost," he told the BBC.

The evidence gathered during these trials provides a historical narrative of what happened during the bloody breakup of the former Yugoslavia.

Many hope it will help to heal the scars of the past and bring divided communities together to build a peaceful, unified future.

"It's the missing piece of the puzzle," Nenad Golcevski, from the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience said,

"Now there can't be more denying of the role of Serbia, as a final judgment it completes the legacy, now it's up to us, the people in the Balkans, to take that legacy forward, to use it, to find lessons from it, so that something like this is never repeated again."
