there's just no way ted wouldn't keep in touch with the others (and have weekly zoom meetings just like in the christmas special) and I just love the thought of the whole team having reunions once in a while.

and going back to trent's arc in s3, the sunflowers conversation, "And your daughter?" "She's never been happier." I think it could go the same for ted.. we've never really properly saw how henry felt about his dad being in london, it's always other people that told ted his son misses him, who's to say henry would rather see his dad happy because that in turn would make him happy too? he was there to win the whole thing, right? I just know ted’s story isn’t done yet when he still hasn’t learned to let others take care of him in return and who else to pair him with than the man who blew up his career because a man was nice to him (and also because they were so. so cruel for the fakeout tedbecca scenes for that finale) 🥺

It is a significant point of contention in their relationship & marriage that maverick is only interested in Japanese-manufactured motorcycles. Like they have had, and will continue to have, shouting matches over “why can’t you be a patriot and buy American motorcycles like harleys??!? What is with all the kawasaki and yamaha crap???” and “ice im telling you they just run better!!! the japanese just make better bikes!!!” tongue-in-cheek threats of divorce etc.

i definitely think of ice as less a luxury car and more a classic muscle car guy. back when muscle cars still were delicate and beautiful instead of hard and sharp, if that makes sense. there is a Venn diagram of luxury and muscle cars and he definitely has dabbled in the middle (see my fic’s deepthroating of the 2005 ford GT). But he won’t cross the line. (Won’t be caught dead driving a Porsche or mercedes for instance)

in the final final draft of my fic (ie the draft that will get posted before i call it quits on my top gun phase) the Dream Car is getting changed to a ‘68 Plymouth HEMI roadrunner. camaro is too mainstream i will admit. but see above for my “car preferences” hc.

You have singlehandedly gotten me into dan vs. I have actually scrolled through your entire tag for it, but I'm trying to limit what I reblog so that you don't get spammed. Also i wanted to tell you that your art is amazing! I know you've expressed that you don't like your old art as much (which is relatable 😔) but I really fucking like it! It's amazing. It's actually ppl like you that juuuust barely keep my own trembling finger away from the delete button on my own old art because I realize that even art that I personally hate now bc I know I could do way better could still potentially hold sentimental value to someone else. Obviously this doesn't mean you can't delete it if you don't want to, because I get it, but I did want to say that I think it's great and even if you redraw it I still think the originals are awesome. It'd be like seeing your baby grow up- the 'grown up' version may be better technically, but that doesn't mean you want to throw out the baby photos. Anyway that is all I wanted to say! Thank you for this new fixation.
