for once i just want to sit at the dining table with my family and eat until our stomachs our full--

full with food and not with words.

for once i want to happily eat with my family without my father addressing some kind of issue with myself.

I came to eat with everyone and not to hear a lecture or a scolding about everything i’ve done.

for once i want my father to tell me congrats or good job with every test i do good on. i don’t want to hear my father ask who had the best score or to keep up being in first. 

i want my father to express that he’s proud of me.

i just don’t want to hear constant nagging how he prefers the child version of me

i’m sorry that the world got the best of me

but how am i supposed to have motivation to change into a better person when i know that my academic accomplishments won’t make the person i look up to the most proud?
