last year on twitter, there was a fun little event called #IzzyIsMe, where the idea was to project onto Izzy, and i did a whole series of inflicting him with various minor annoyances in my life

but now there was an #IzzyIsMe2 event for the one year anniversary, and i decided to give him some of my favorite simple pleasures in life instead

look fellow izzy enjoyers. i know izzy haters have been annoying in the past. i know they might be annoying now. but don't be rude to them just because you liked it first and feel some sort of superiority to them. i get that it feels like a real "hah we were right" moment and that's all good as long as we're doing it for shits and giggles and it's actually super fucking funny but i've seem some real hostility towards all these new people converting to izzyism. just block them if they annoy you because this is an extremely stupid conflict to have within a fandom that's supposed to bring you joy.

One of the depressing things about anti-Izzyism is that it reveals how some people will completely give up on objectivity so quickly.

Ed can order people flayed with snail fork, maroon the Revenge crew, and almost kill Stede, but because he is the main love interest and we get sad flashbacks, no one goes around accusing Ed fans of being abuse apologists.

Izzy is no worse when it comes to reprehensible behavior, but because his sympathetic qualities are more subtextual, people will come within a hair's in breath of claiming he's the antichrist.

when your sword baldric leaves marks, its nice to have someone who will kiss it better

(this is the most roundabout case of #IzzyIsMe in that my sword baldric for my izzy cosplay literally left a mark on my shoulder (9 days and its still there wtf), so i drew this to give izzy my problem, which was caused by izzy in the first place lol)
