Tati and James Charles | Open Letter to PewDiePie

I can’t seem to post this on the comment section so I’m writing it here.

I like PewDiePie, but I just have thoughts which I'll try to deliver the way he delivered his thoughts. Since he mentioned age, for a 29-year-old who knows almost nothing about the two and has the most subscribers on YouTube, he should be more cautious in giving his thoughts and in giving opinions on subjects like this. You give your opinions based on your experience, least you could do is not give thoughts like, If you were her, you'd do this. That's just not how it works. Because you're not her and you don't really know what went down and why she had to do what she did, which she explained.

She mentioned a lot of details which were ignored in this video. You simplified the situation like it's nothing. You of all people should know that words matter when they come out of influential people like you guys. Tati was worried that if she had just talked to James, he might just twist things around. And she knows how James is, that's why she's worried. And she also mentioned she's scared of James. So for a woman, of her age as you mentioned, to be scared with a young guy, that speaks volumes.

You said she's putting herself on a pedestal. This is a woman trying to clear her name before James Charles tries to ruin it. Because she knows James Charles is that kind of a person. This is a woman who's tired of being used so is once and for all saying goodbye and just ending everything. And it's her truth. She just wanted to say it. She mentioned that too.

Just like you, I don't know them too, so I'm not saying she's right and James is wrong. All I'm saying is just like the rest of us, we're not in their position so we can't just be giving our opinions like that like we really know what's going on. More so when it's coming from you. You mentioned you think this and you think that. You have very strong opinions. You have a very big following. What if Tati is telling the truth and her intentions are just pure and that she just wants to clear her name? For you to give opinions like that, that would just hurt her. You could actually hurt a person, who in the first lace was hurt by another YouTuber that's why she had to speak up. Because you don't really know the story. Again, the least you could do is just not take sides or look at both sides equally or not be too firm with your opinions. We can't conclude anything because we don't really know.

You made powerful statements that would make people question Tati's character without you really knowing who she is, which is not justified. Just an example, with Logan Paul, if you make a statement about his character based on his actions and from a lot of credible sources, that's fine. Because we could formulate opinions based on his actions. But with Tati, you just said you don't see the point of this. So it's not really her character, but to your fans, it could appear that way. You have 95 million subscribers and that's scary. You might be questioning the wrong person, so it's best to just stay neutral for now, not because you shouldn't give your opinion, but because it's the fair thing to do since we don't have all the facts for now and, again, you are very influential and this could affect people.

This is not a negative comment towards PewDiePie. All I'm saying is, we don't really know their sides, like everything. As someone who has so much power on social media, just need to be more careful with the opinions we give because words matter. And people would believe you whether you're right or wrong. It's sad, but it's social media.

In this video, you made it look like Tati is the one using James and it was as petty as James not promoting Tati's brand. It's deeper than that. She's not doing this for money. That video, it could've gone two ways. People hating her, or people agreeing with her. It was not a 100% calculated move. James had 16 million subscribers. People are not stupid. If people think James didn't do anything wrong, they would've defended him. Or at least half would've. Biggest subscriber loss in 24 hours. That says a lot.

I understand that as a YouTuber you could relate to other YouTubers, but the headline is like this "PewDiepie using fame to get girls. Pewds has it for the dudes and turning them gay. Pewds manipulating girls into doing sexual acts with him." These are not small issues. And real people were involved and they genuinely felt used and manipulated.

Apologies if this comment seems negative towards Pewds. It's not. I'm also a fan, but I just want to be fair to everyone. Tati said her piece. She knows James. She has the right. Others are giving their opinions based on their interaction with James. They have the right. James can explain his side and that's fine. For now, people who have directly interacted with James are giving their thoughts and it's not good for James. People do not like him because a lot of people are speaking up about him. Actually, people have been speaking up about him, and fans just chose to ignore them. Now, everything just makes sense.

We could just ask everyone to have an open mind. That's the best we could do. Do your own research. Don't be too quick to judge. Credibility is everything.

In the beauty community, there was a war between influencers James Charles and Tati Westbrook who before this feud were considered close friends. Tati Westbrook has come out with vitamins for her followers in which provide nail and hair growth called “Halo Beauty”. Tati released a Youtube video with details revolving around the betrayal she received from James when he posted an ad on instagram for sugar bear hair vitamins, one of Tati’s biggest competitors. She goes on to “expose” James for things he has done outside of the friendship. This then created an ending to James’ career as he receives backlash from other beauty influencers, lost various celebrity followers on Instagram, and Twitter, and millions of Youtube subscribers overnight.
