My idea for Janice's twin! I am very proud of myself for her name
ever since we found out Janice has a twin I have been obsessed with her and I wanted to design her (because we r in desperate need of more muppet women) So meet Joplin !! She's like an environmental hippie activist who's more on the quiet side :))

The unexpected duet of Tina Turner and Janis Joplin.
Tumblr media
Tina Turner and Janis Joplin at Madison Square Garden in New York, 1969
November 27, 1969 (the day after Tina's 30th birthday) Ike and Tina opened for The Rolling Stones at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Janice was watching them from backstage, and during "Land of 1,000 Dances" she just couldn't hold back anymore and jumped on stage (possibly influenced by the "treats" the Stones had prepared for their guests backstage) and finished the song with Tina.

“I was with Tina Turner when she first saw Janis Joplin, and she said to Janis, ‘Honey, you can’t continue to sing like that or you’ll have no voice […]”

We picked the most playful one of the bunch to bring home.
JJ can also stand for Jar Jar, Janice Joplin, J Jonah Jameson, Janet Jackson, Jumpin' Jehoshaphat, John Jacob (Jingelheimer Schmidt), Jamba Juice, or anything else we're feeling at the moment!

So I have a couple unsuspecting friends who were lovely enough to get me this book for my birthday:
Tumblr media
Over the approximately 150 pages of this book there are many more or less insightful passages about Harry and his fashion throughout the years.
He’s compared to every superstar you can imagine, from the “usual” Bowie, Mick Jagger, Elton John and Elvis to Johnny Cash, Janice Joplin, Princess Diana and many more…
There’s a specific passage about his rings where he’s compared (by no means the only time in this book) to Prince along with this text:
“Conspiracy theories surrounding the significance of Harry's favourite rings have flourished on social media, especially as he's been wearing a stainless steel 'peace’ band on his right middle finger on and off since 2013. Superfans who know Harry well are savvy enough to recognise that his jewellery wardrobe - like his fashion sense - is a bit of a playground. One fact is for sure: Harry adores adornments. Even among his considerable collection, the antique micro-mosaic Georgian digit-dazzler featuring a Goldfinch, which he wore at The BRITs in 2021, is serious treasure.”
Tumblr media
There’s another passage under the heading “Blossoming” that I thought was actually quite nice (as opposed to the phrasing of the conspiracy theories comment):
“Harry's fondness for floral suits has opened up an exciting new wardrobe for all kinds of folk. He wore one such garment at the Greek Theatre gig in LA as part of his 2017 Live on Tour shows, which had the self-proclaimed 'QueerPop’ band Muna opening for him. His LGBTQ+ friendly concerts that year saw him dancing draped in rainbow flags while the audience cheered him on. Banners in the crowd asked everyone to 'Always Choose Love'! Inclusivity is part of Harry's DNA, and in April 2021 he was shortlisted as an icon for the British LGBT Awards, while 2022 sees him playing a gay policeman in a new Amazon Studios film, My Policeman. Dressing in blossoms isn't a big deal for Harry, who has an assertive approach to clothes, but choosing to do so helps his campaign for kindness. Truly, clothes speak volumes.”

Thank you for responding. I am glad that you did.
I understand low self-esteem and when your confidence is in the gutter. It makes it so tough to make that step to get help. That's the hardest part. I do truly believe though, that if you can push as hard as humanly possible to take that first step to get help, that you will eventually feel better.
I am not saying that it will happen overnight. It won't. But you will see improvement if you give it a while. You are so crushed right now that you cannot push to that point to get the help. I get it. But try. Because I am telling you - in the long run it is worth it. You could get help and at least start to feel a sense of accomplishment. Your self-esteem and confidence will get better over time.
Let me give you a few examples of people who either didn't feel like they fit in or got picked on who went on to do great things and the people who picked on them or talked bad about them later regretted it.
Janice Joplin
Axl Rose
Lana Del Rey
Jenny McCarthy
Izzy Stradlin
Courtney Love
And tons of doctors, politicians, lawyers, teachers, musicians, artists, mothers, fathers, actors, actresses, comedians, farmers, architects, visual artists, construction workers, businessmen and women, housewives, chefs, writers, etc.
Try. Try. Try. Okay?
Karma is real. There was a chick who made not only my life, but a lot of other people's lives a living hell. Finally, finally it came back around to her. It got to the point that she had so few friends left she had to hang out with people at other high schools - cause she had treated so many people like shit. And then after high school she ended up in trouble with the law.
The more they treat you or others like shit, the more messed up they are and the more bad karma they create for themselves. Trust me. They are trying to compensate for the qualities they lack by putting other people down. Instead of working on themselves.
F*** them. They'll get theirs. Trust me. They don't even matter. Do you and take care of you. Hang in there and try, try, try to push yourself to get help, okay?
Journal if you want to vent at times. Scream into a pillow. Go for a walk. Listen to music. Talk to a counselor or therapist. I promise you your life is going to get better. I am going to give you a break and stop preaching, lol, but I felt like I needed to say this. I hope you don't mind.
I know I should try to get better but it's so hard and I don't know how to start. I feel like I have no reason to go on, like, why does it matter? A lot of people bully me and say bad things to me and I just agree with them, they seem to be happy all the time doing this while I'm sad and depressed (but if you say karma exists, I trust you).
And honestly, your questions are helping me a lot. Knowing that at least one person in this world cares means a lot to me. So thank you very much for your words

9, 20, 31 for the ask game!
9. What do you consider your biggest accomplishment?
Honestly? Moving out of my mom's house. I was on track for never getting out of there, like my brother. While it was hard and the situation sucked, it was the best thing for me.
20. What's a totally random and useless fact that you know?
When the creator of DVORAK keyboards (google it) and his typing team tried to compete in the National Typing Championships with their DVORAK keyboards, they were so good they were disqualified and their keyboards were confiscated and destroyed.
(don't ask me dates or names, I read this in, like, a reader's digest a million years ago)
31. Describe yourself with 3 singers.
Florence Welch, Freddy Mercury, Janice Joplin

G. Mark Mulleian (1947-2022)
Mulleian was first discovered by author Leonard Roy Frank in 1968, a discovery which opened the doors to one of the most unique exhibits at the Frank Gallery On January I, 1970 Featuring the works of sculptor Benny Bufano and paintings by G. Mark Mulleian that brought national public attention and many notable admirers ranging from William Kunsler, attorney of the Chicago Seven trial, to the Three Christy Minstrels, a popular singing group of the 1960’s. and notables such as Elton John, Janice Joplin, Robert Shields, Shirley Temple Black, Leotine Price, and Herb Cean, and many more. Visitors to the Frank Gallery would bring people from all walks of life, ranging from the very young to the very old, from the poor to the very rich, from the common folk to the very famous, from the blue collar workers to the intellectuals. Mulleian’s works were breaking barriers through universal means, bringing people together, which eventually led to a large following of Mulleian’s paintings on a national and international scale...
“Spring Crossing” was one of San Francisco’s main attractions at The Frank Gallery on Sutter Street’s Gallery Row. Ron posed as Christ upon a 16 foot high cross, to equal the height of the scaffold where Mulleian was working. Ron posed for up to four hours at a time while passerby gaped in astonishment at both artist and model. People as far away as Bolder Creek, California and throughout the country would come to watch Mulleian at work on this epic peace bearing small gifts such as flowers, letters, and wine for the artist, followed by extensive media attention for months to come throughout the U.S. The painting took six months to complete. Mulleian was 25 years old.

She’s (my fic for the @steter-bang) coming along, slowly but (hopefully) surely. I give you Stiles Stilinski, trainer of horses and Dereks:
The horse and Derek are both stiff. There’s no yield to each other. An unstoppable force meeting an immovable object. The horse’s tail flicks, its head shakes, the muscles in Derek’s forearm tense and shift.
Stiles closes his eyes for a moment, and he can still see them in his mind’s eye. Feels the tension slip into his own body, then out again.
When he opens his eyes, he’s in that place he’s never quite been able to fully explain to anyone else. The place where everything goes quiet, but body language is screaming. The horse is scared, Derek is frustrated and sad, Peter is watchful, waiting. He wants to see what Stiles will do.
“I can train the horse,” Stiles says quietly, “But I’d like to teach Derek a few things too, if he’d like to keep doing this. What do you think?”
Peter shifts slightly. A fly buzzes. He’s going to say yes. “Let’s try it. I can’t promise how open my nephew will be, but it’s worth a shot. He likes the horses, even if you can’t tell it so much right now.”
Stiles can tell, actually, can see it in the way Derek’s frustration is turned inward, not at the horse. He’s mad at himself for not being able to get through to the horse, not that she won’t follow his lead.
Stiles climbs the corral fence and walks slowly towards the pair. They both still, tensing. Unsure.
“What’s her name?” Stiles asks.
“Janice Joplin,” Derek says with an eye roll, “don’t ask. It’s Erica’s fault. I call her JJ.”
“Nice,” Stiles says with a soft chuckle. JJ tosses her head. “There now, none of that,” He says to her. She stamps her foot a little, looks at him as if to ask what he’s gonna do about it.
Stiles closes his eyes again. Just for a moment, more of a long blink than anything else. Derek is sad. He’s lost faith in himself. Not about the horse, something else. Something that a stubborn horse is simply reminding him of.
“She won’t trust you if you don’t trust yourself,” Stiles tells him.
