Have another Jem and the Holograms piece for the holidays!
Killing your nemesis with sweetness is the perfect way to go about it. Who cares if Jem's candyfloss hair is fake? Pizzazz will still find a way to grab it!
Oh damn... I'm old.
Anyone remembers this show? Well I do... after one sleepless night in which my brain decided to bring back some memories of my childhood.
Anyway, here are Pizzazz and Jerrica/Jem from "Jem and The Holograms".
I watched this show with my sister when we were kids. I remember liking it but, honestly, not much more beside that.
Only two episodes I do remember (almost) clearly and now that I think about it, are probably the reason why I always empathize with the "villains":
One episode had one of the Misfits (Jem's rivals) leaving the band because she was tired that no one took her seriously since she is the only goody two shoes of the group.
Lot of character development on that one.
The other episode was about a member of the Misfits being dyslexic and how the world took advantage of her.
Anyway, here's my take: Jerrica is shorter than Pizzazz but once she transforms into Jem, she towers over her.
Like up until this point most of not all of the Jem and Misfit collabs have been then fighting for control and style of a song. Going back and forth with two completely different styles and lyrics, and tbh it never sounded that great.
And then finally they agree, they have a song where they’re completely in sync. Same style, same lyrics, same motivation, and it BANGS. This song rocks, like genuinely I really like it
And then the theme of the song itself is that they need to stay away from each other fjjshdh GOD I can’t with them I love this show
I stopped drawing them because i believe my art style changed right in the middle of an outfit. and i couldn't bring myself to continue. but I never posted the Jem outfits so i've added them as well!
This 80's cartoon is called Jem. It's truly, truly, truly outrageous.
Jem is Jerrica's drag persona and she uses light constructs as makeup and couture.
Your argument is now invalid. lol
The songs, makeup, costume changes and nonsensical teen drama / history plot (holes) and more glitter and pink than a collision between a Kylie's and a Nicki's show, gave joy, laughter (and even visibility, representation) and also dreams of slay on a stage to so many kids.
And now you are truly, truly, truly gay. 😉😂
Example of a conservative dying of queer confusion and fabulousness. 😀
