He frowned and looked at Ann: “I already understand your strength, Your Highness, but like I said, war and adventuring are completely different. No matter how strong the individual strength is, it can’t withstand tens of thousands of people together. To be honest, after announcing your news, the two neighboring armies will be mobilized to deal with us. I must carefully measure their strength. There is no room for any mistakes on the battlefield.”
“Oh,” Ann said. “Isn’t that just right? We have three armies here.”
“Armies?” Gallagher politely raised the tone at the end of the sentence.
“Yes—the leader of Tumbleweed, it’s mission time, and the employer is going to make a request.” Ann narrowed her eyes.
“Oliver and Nemo, you two are on the same team. Cross and Dylan, you two are on the same team. I think this should be able to handle two battlefields—Dylan, to be honest, right now I still have no idea about your strength. Do you need me to leave the parrot with you?”
Jesse saluted exaggeratedly. “Of course not, your Royal Highness. I just need that goat.”
“Then Bagelmaurus followed me. Let’s keep an eye on the marshal’s ass in case a female assassin is sent across the street to make this guy’s severe arrogance relapse again. How about it, commander?”
Gallagher’s expression was like he had seen a ghost. “Two men on each side of the battlefield. You call this an army?”
“Trust me,” Ann said. “If you don’t want to damage your relationship with the nearby lords, they’ll handle it better than anyone else.”
“There may be tens of thousands of troops on the opposite side.”
“I know.”
jesse, oliver, and nemo are armies on their own

ok time to break my silence caused by the fact that i spent all day making this lol too many feels
so.. palm springs thoughts !! and there are manyyyy so buckle up and feeel free to hit me up with either matching or contradicting thoughts or whateveer!! i would LOVE to nerd out about this movie with someone:’)
here comes thoughts and pictures!!
we basically start off with a mr. samberg sex-scene okAYYYYY the mood is set. we love the view
nyles aka. mr. samberg is the most gorgeous man alive and it was a true pleasure to admire him for 90 minutes straight
Tumblr media
CURLS!!????! THEY ARE UNREAL. i shall dedicate an entire post to them
Cristin Milioti is perfect for her role. her acting? *chef’s kiss* I love that she’s not the stereotypical female rom-com lead.
Her chemistry with Andy? Gosh.. Can’t believe Nyles x Sarah is my new main movie-ship!! They play off of each other SO. WELL. Their characters are equally stone cold and bitter, but then again not really, and they both portray it so well!!
“You don’t ned a leg up.” *moans* “Hold my leg up!” i SCREAMED
“Don’t you kiss me.” “Don’t you tell me what to do.” hoW DARE THEY!
Tumblr media
Ok ur basically on love already stop it
The fact that they were just gonna fuck on a blanket on top OF ROCKS?!
Tumblr media
but then again in this movie’s already insane universe it’s prob pretty normal:)
The overall dark, existential humor?? This is what I live and breathe for on a daily basis. Basiaclly both main characters are a BIG MOOD
Nyles not giving a shit vs. Sarah severely freaking out in the beginning is an iconic dynamic
“I am the antichrist” and then the rock falling? For a hot sec I literally thought the movie was gonna take a turn with Nyles being some magical/scientific creature that’d created the timeloop or something idkkk ahhha
Nyles in the suit... ridiculous(ly hot)
Tumblr media
The torture methods Roy uses on Nyles and the fact that he’s not mentally scarred?? How??
On that note I love that Nyles and Sarah keep their memories even if the day starts over. Would’ve been a completely different concept if they had to “meet each other for the first time” every day and it wouldn’t’ve allowed their relationship arc to evolve as it did
Darla is the fucking shit
Nyles in the baseball cap, amirite?
THE BARTENDER TALKING ABOUT HITTING A GUY WITH THE CAR SHE’S CURRENTLY GIVING NYLES A HANDJOB IN IS COMEDIC GOLD
“You fucked Jerry Schlieffen?” “Well he fucked me.” Yes SIR. Andy Samberg’s characters are all bottoms and we’re here for it
Sarah’s tongue click and “nice try” when Nyles asks her about her sex life??
Tumblr media
IDK WHY BUT SO GOD
Randy is hella annoying. That’s it. That’s the tweet.
THIS ENTIRE SCENE:
Tumblr media
the fact that they both start waking up smiling because now at least they have each other 🥺😭🤯
uhm i love a good ship that’s like... best friends to lovers and the montage of them basically becoming besties killed me
this outfit Y E S:
Tumblr media
sarah falling off the car and nyles laughing it off is relationship goals
the crashing plane I LOL’ED
okay so... big moment... the DANCING AND MATCHING OUTFITS? THEY ARE MY DREAM TEAM. Also how excited they are running away from the bar 🥺
IM POSITIVE THIS IS THE MOMENT NYLES KNOWS! LIKE HE DOESN’T ADMIT IT TO HIMSELF COMPLETELY BUT HE KNOWS
Tumblr media
the bomb in the cake and french pirate-skit? so fucking random but i lovee it because it’s so them
*DRUM ROLL* PERHAPS MY FAVORITE MOMENT IN THE ENTIRE MOVIE:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
STORYLINE WISE AND VISUALLY A++++
the deep talks by the fire were SO well written. they were actually deep and genuine, allowing the characters to grow and opening up to us as viewers but also remained fun and witty
sarah trying to get nyles to admit he cares for her and him joking it off??? the flirtinggg
really wish we’d gotten to know more about what nyles meant with “it drifts away: just like they all do.” because it really seemed to trigger something within him. Like WHO “They”???
the dinosaurs lmao no comment but at least they got a cute cuddly moment
from the very first millisecond inside the tent you can CLEARLY tell Sarah is just dying to do something about them!!!
the disbelief on nyles’ face when sarah says “lets just get it over with” because she’d clearly stated he didn’t want to and even though he obviously did he’s respected it and not done anything further about it oh babey
we love some good making out:’)))
NYLES HALTING TO TAKE IN THE MOMENT EXCUSE ME WHILE I GO SCREAM INTO THE VOID
Tumblr media
i will die for a post-sexy timez cuddle and how sarah is trying to staying awake to be besides him is just *explosion*
Tumblr media
this has to be *the moment* she realises
and they’re both sooooo fucking happy when they wake up after damn love me like that pls
THE GROOM BOOO FUCK OFF CAN’T EVEN BE BOTHERED TO REMEMBER HIS NAME CHEATING SCUM
THIS FACE:
Tumblr media
Baby is trying so hard and is so cute and nervous about it. SARAH LISTEN TO HIM HE LOVES YOU.
HE FELT GOOD WAKING UP BECAUSE OF YOUUUU, GIRL. DO NOT CALL IT “FUN”, SARAH
“Going to bed maybe just got a little better” 😭😭😭😭
The entire cop scene is just pure insanity, very Lonely Island and I’m here for it even though I just want Sarah to rEALLY LISTEN TO WHAT NYLES IS TRYING TO SAY
“Pain is real” oh babey that means SO MANY THINGS 🥺💔
“I followed you into that cave because I liked you!” like jake would say: don’t love how we got here but we’re going where i want
“pretentious sad boy” me
not shocked that they’ve hooked up before because c h e m i s t r y but don’t like how it got out :)))
why is nyles’ one sleeve shirt rolled up? im triggered
drinking pure vodka? oh babey its gonna be okay
WE LOVE A SMART BOI WHO RECOGNIZES HIS GIRL’S PERFUME
Sarah’s parents singing:)) i would cry too, nyles
"I love her.” “I see... That’s interesting” lmao savage
I actually really love Roy’s character. It turns out to be very humble actually and he has some insightful and lowkey poetic that lines i love. Besides that he’s hilarious.
SO the whole time i was wondering how they’d get out of the whole “same day forever”-thing, if they were to. and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that they had such a logical way out of it: science. Not anything cheesy like “a true love’s kiss” or “you learned your lesson”. Pure logic and Sarah’s hard work to get there. Huge fan of this.
I will never get over how good Nyles looks waking up and Sarah is xtra pretty in that scene:’)
Nyles just wants to stay in a loop forever because it means for sure that he gets to stay with Sarah forever and I’m lowkey into it but also like lowkey LISTEN TO HER AND GO WITH HER PLAN, NYLES
“I wanna stay with you” *sniffles*
“I love you. How about that?” PRETTY FUCKING GOOD
I love Nyles’ character development. He started off so nonchalant and cold, closed off and by this point he’s the softest, smiliest in love fool I’ve ever seen and Andy does it so good. SAMBERG HEART EYES!!
Tumblr media
“Nothing is real in here” YES SARAH UR LOVE IS
I’m taking Sarah’s asking Nyles to believe in her and leave with her as her first “I love you” because it’s very clear that she wants to leave with him rather than without.
just- this entire scene i ugh <3 <3 <3 <3
BREAKING. UP. WITH. MISTY ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
glass of wine filled to the brim? sarah’s my type of gal
the speech was really beautiful and sweet without being too cheesy and kudos to cristin for really delivering it like a pro! especially her “abe, don’t fuck this up” like yes girl kill him, chop him to pieces with your eyes!!! also camila is such really pretty bride
nyles looks like a cockatoo here :
Tumblr media
nyles taking the shot and smashing the glass into the ground got me 🤭😵😏🥵
“I’m your son” I SCREAM
GIVE THE MAN A WHITE HORSE DAMNIT
Gotta admit Sarah looks like a bomb (lol nu pun intended) ass super hero in her bridesmaid dress and C4-gettup
The sentence ending up being total grammatical gibberish but Nyles trying so. damn. hard is the sweetest thing ever and should and will go down in rom-com history. It’s super romantic but also well-balanced by humor and I just.. so good. This is the kind of characters and relationships I love and wanna write myself
“you’re my favorite person that i’ve ever met” 🥺🥺🥺
“i’d rather die with you than live in this world without you” WHY AM I SO SINGLE SOMEONE LOVEE ME LIKE THIS
okay so idk but “what if we get sick of each other?” “we’re already sick of each other. it’s the best.” is so so so soft, the way nyles says it like it doesn’t matter and is honestly another key moment for me: they’ve experienced basically everything imaginable during their time in the box/loop. they’ve liked, disliked, loved, hated each other and still: he loves her. the fact that nyles knows no matter what happens it won’t stop that because it’s them?? ouch my heart.
this chaotic mess of a pairing?MESSY BOMB BRIDESMAID AND CURLY-HAIR HAWAII SHIRT-BOI!! MY OTp
Them dissing Nyles’ mom on their way into potential death? that’s love, baby
the fUCKING KISSSSSSS MANNNNNNNNNN!!!! SO ICONIC AND THE EXPLOSION IN THE BACKGROUND AND JUST WE DESERVE THIS THEY DESERVE THIS EVERYONE DESERVES THISSSS!!!
Tumblr media
NEVER OVEER THIS EVER FOREVER NEVER
Ok so I was SURE that when it faded to black that it was done and I grew super ficking frustrated because it would leave us with this “the ending is up to whatever you chose”-kinda thing kinda a la Celeste and Jesse where it just feels unresolved and I WASN’T OKAY WITH THAT. So I’m so happy we got to know that it worked and the bebes will live happuilly ever after with Nyles’ shaggy dog:’)
Their hands on each other’s knee >>>>>
all in all 100000/10

My assorted musings/theories about Control in one post!! I am having a lot of fun dissecting the implications of all the information we’re getting tiny peeks at. This WILL be a thought torrent so I won’t make any literary-essay-level structuring promises; click through at your own risk of losing sanity over my tangents.
So the base axiom the lore stands on is that reality in Control is shaped by the collective human subconscious in unpredictable ways, causing altered world events, subsequently creating altered items imbued with archetypal properties in correspondence with their historic context, and generally having things go way out of whack.
But, as seen with the whole slide projector hubbub, we also know that other realities/dimensions exist in their own right and can, by virtue of their agenda, and not that of our thought, attempt to invade our reality through resonance-based means. Their motives can run the gamut but we know that their involvement/influence can have far-reaching consequences on our reality.
(there is an argument to be made that both the Hedron and the Hiss could have been extremely potent creations/projections of Jesse and Dylan’s minds altogether, especially since Polaris exists within one of them inherently, and that the slidescapes could simply have been an extension of the slide projector’s astral power still fully fed on human perceptions. But this theory sort-of runs everything else to the ground and makes us the center of the universe, and I don’t like that too much).
This is where the Oldest House comes in! And I love its deeply rooted historic/theological implications just as much as its impression at face value. I believe that since time immemorial, the Oldest House was a stabilizing element, a kind of ward against dimensional rifts threatening our reality. And it did that by presenting itself as a guide for human thought; a house of worship, a monument to service, whichever concept happened to elicit inherent respect and trust in that period of time, allowing the House to then control (ha) our thought through belief systems. Today, it’s a brutalist office building with no windows, which is, like, so on point. But anyway.
The Board. We know that it controls the Oldest House to an extent. Whether it represents the gods and deities we once made up is hard to tell, but its influence over the House’s functions is clear. We know that it had chosen individuals in the past to possibly represent the House’s intentions (today – the Directors of the FBC), giving them access to the Service Weapon and a direct link to the astral plane. I believe these would be our Thors and King Arthurs and Greek heroes and what have you. We KNOW that the Service Weapon is, by definition, the archetypal concept of “weapon” as shaped by human thought, and that the BFC suspects its past forms may have included Mjolnir and Excalibur among others. Today, it’s a handgun. Again, the implications. Delicious.
And I think the Oldest House is the same way; constantly shifting form, shape, and even geographical location to best fit its own archetypal concept, which I conflated with place of respect and/or worship up there, but even that can change to best fit the agenda of, what I think, is stabilizing and warding our reality against foreign resonances. It does this by presenting itself as a guidebook for human thought, tapping into our inherent astral potency, and utilizing resulting constructs – the Service Weapon, the anointed Director, and certain altered items – to serve its own upkeep. As directed by The Board.
(I believe that is also part of the reason why the FBC ended up discovering the House when it did – The Board allowed it per the alignment of the Bureau’s motives with its own. They both wanted to identify, neutralize, and contain AWEs both external and internal in order to keep the public – and by extension their thoughts – fully under control. I believe this had happened numerous times in the past, as well)
But to circle back – why does The House need upkeep at all? My guess is, it’s an extension of the initial agenda, and we KNOW it is inherently tied to (read: contains) thresholds, or dimensional rifts, or just other worlds. Let’s call them other worlds. The Oldest House is an ever-shifting place of power that both shapes and is shaped by human thought, in order to keep that very human thought – our “resonance” – the sole dominating astral force in our dimension. It focuses all incoming “traffic” within its walls and creates the thresholds as bottlenecks – while the traffic it can’t focus on itself, it contains, and brings in anyway - and finally, it uses the Director to keep all these foreign rifts and aberrations in check.
We are the House’s assistant. Familiar word? There’s one person in Control who keeps calling us their assistant despite our formal title being a peg above that definition. It is the Janitor – another very common archetype of stabilization, maintenance, fixing things up; in this case, Ahti – The Janitor – is simply a way for the House, and not The Board, to communicate its intent. The Janitor is as much part of the place of power as are its walls and rooms. They are one and the same. And a Janitor is a role that would be chosen with very particular intent. He knows the House’s innards as intimately as he knows how to keep them functioning.
So to recap, again – The House both feeds on and forms human thought constructs in order to keep other worlds at bay and is very much willing to directly cooperate with people when that agenda is mutually expressed. What if this whole entire system then, of a dimensional hub, a place of power trying to keep our resonance separate from others, is in itself a construct, an ancient expression of a basic human need? Or rather, a basic human emotional response? To go a bit meta, as a story with thematic underpinnings, that would make a sensible endgame to Control’s ideas and messaging.
The Oldest House exists because we needed it to exist, and by consequence, we saved OURSELVES from the Hiss. Among a lot of other things in the past, I’d reckon. And The Board is our “representative” in the astral plane. We made them, too. We cocooned ourselves in constructs that would protect us from all outside resonances – all outside worlds – all outside points of view.
So what am I saying? Is The Oldest House a staunch apotheosis of conservative thought given form? I’m not willing to bet my life on it, but again, it all oddly falls into place. Think about it.
TRENCH let the Hiss in. Why? We’re told the Director of the Oldest House grew irrationally scared of the Hedron’s (arguably benevolent) influence and opted to fight it with fire; with an otherworldy horror. My guess is the House made him do that. The Board, sorry, made him do it. As firm believers in isolating humanity’s resonance from all others, they feared the Hedron’s presence as a variable incompatible with that agenda, and brought the Hiss in AS A WAY of proving their point, of keeping the cycle of fear strong in humanity’s thought, by killing Hedron and then using a newly appointed, freshly brainwashed Director Faden to remove the Hiss from the equation, as well.
Status quo restored, all branches clipped, everyone agrees other dimensions bad.
The emotional response I mentioned was fear. We created The Oldest House out of fear. Fear of the unknown. And it became a feedback loop that disallowed us to ever consider anything else outside of our world as anything other than a threat.
Oh and you know what’s a real swanky way to impose fear on a willing humanity? *guitar riff* religion babyyyyyy
To wit, The Board refers to the House as a Tree at one point. We can find a scribbling of a tree in the Foundation. Ahti hands us a cassette tape from “his old friends” – and the band that starts playing call themselves the Old Gods of Asgard. So a tree connecting worlds. A housekeeper who is a friend to Odin’s pantheon. A chosen hero wielding Mjolnir. Did the House parade as the Yggdrasil at one point? Followed by some other nexus of blind human faith or a system of belief? Or just as religion itself?! And since now we all worship capitalism or some other forms of financial labor/revenue funnels and shoot each other dead in the streets, our Oldest House is an office building smack dab in the middle of Manhattan, its Director carries a literal handgun, and together they keep us safe from outsiders.
It all makes sense with a big ole asterisk that spells out “Yikes” in the end.
Except there’s a caveat here cause!!! Within Jesse lives a spark left behind by Hedron; within her lives Polaris, a remnant of the slidescape, of the outer worlds; a hope for maybe liberating human thought of the endless cycle of fear that keeps it under its own Control. Will we bring the Oldest House down in a possible sequel? Is Jesse a Trojan horse? A byproduct of the Board’s arrogance? I mean we KNOW the pyramid is a hyperfocused, almost blatantly jealous entity that downright bribed us with healthcare plans in order to steer us away from The Former, another extradimensional being that was trying to get in through altered items. So maybe the House itself can be preserved, and its agenda retrofitted, and it is the Board we will have to tear down. It still all fits.
The Board is our projection of fear, the Oldest House is the wall we built to protect ourselves, and Jesse is poised to bring it all down. That’s my theory in a nutshell!!!!
I think I’ll end here for now. I could be entirely wrong about EVERYTHING here but the JUICE in this story is too damn nourishing, dudes.

(RootofJesse) Revelation Unsealed Improvised Talk Version 100 Parts One and Two(NEW MIX VERSION)The Somewhere Spoken Mix Version Fourteen By Leslie (aka Jesse) Hughes © The book of Revelation proclaims there is a scroll that can be unsealed (Rev Chapter 5:1-5) by measuring (Rev 11:1, Eze 40:3) the temple, altar and worshipers until there is a Victory of the White Horse, Lamb and Word of God (Rev 17:14, Rev 15: 7, Rev 19:11-21), a New Heaven and New Jerusalem (Rev Chapters 21 and 22, 2Pe 3:13), and a New Covenant (Heb 8: 7-13, Jer 31:31-34).  I believe the Gospel is a metaphoric resource for that measurement, providing a map of our Spiritual connection to the world.  Jesus Christ himself declared:  "I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world" (Mt 13:35, Ps 78:2). I also believe the Holy Spirit who created all things, (what is seen has been created by what is unseen Ro 1: 20-23, Heb 11: 1-3), has left us a metaphoric map of creation in the Gospel that contains more insight than the commonly accepted literal descriptions. Where psychologists and scientists are declaring what is seen in the world and re-describing it in their own vocabulary, I find Gospel measurements to be more effective and visual, allowing us to place Biblical stories and insights upon the objects to be measured, providing more light and insight into territories that would otherwise be dark and only partially defined by literal descriptions. What is perceived as reality one day is a changing concept and can be proven quite a different reality on another day.  For example, who thought man could fly across the sky like a bird in planes that weigh several tons, or that audio and video waves could  travel invisibly through space and provide TV pictures that replicate faraway places with such realism you would think you were there, or that  many gigabits of data could be contained on microchips as small as the  tip of your finger, that we would communicate through cell phones that  bounce off satellites in space, or that we would have computers that  allow us to search entire world libraries of books through the internet  in an instant. Therefore, I  take that leap of faith the philosopher Kierkegaard wrote of and believe there is another dimension unique from the one immediately perceived by our senses, and that it is simply illogical  that this world and all its wonders were created by chance. I  also delight in the fear of the power of the Holy Spirit who is the Lord  (Isaiah 11: 2), and realize along with joy there is great  suffering in the world, my peace being established in the faith there is something within us that is immortal and independent of our bodies, not found in the natural elements of the powerful wind, earthquake or fire, that is the gentle whisper, that still  small voice, the word of God we speak that shines on in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it (1 Kings 19:11-12, Rev 19:11-16, Jn 1:1-5).   “Here I am, it is written about me in the scrollI have come to do your will O God” (Heb 10:7, Isa 11, Ro 15:12)To proclaim the New Order and the New Covenant (Heb 8: 7-13, Jer 31:31-34)To unseal the scroll in the book of Revelation (Rev 5:1-5)To measure the temple of God and the altarAnd to count the worshipers there (Rev 11:1, Eze 40:3-4)Until there is a Victory of the Word of God who is the Lamb and White Horse (Rev 17:14, Rev 15: 7, Rev 19:11-21)A New Heaven, New Earth, and New Jerusalem (Rev Chapters 21 and 22, 2Pe 3:13)And a change of the priesthood, from the order of AaronTo the order of Melchizedek (Hebrews Chapter 7, Acts 13:20-23) (Lk 4:18-19)"The Spirit of the Lord is on meBecause he has anointed me to preach good news to the poorHe has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners And recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressedTo proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." I am a New Order, New Age and New Covenant Gospel Rock and Roller preaching the Gospel to the world in the tradition of Dylan and Springsteen. My songs and spoken words metaphorically interpret the Bible and book of Revelation, helping to shine a light upon Bob Dylan’s lyrical clues. I serve the Spirit of the Lord, and dedicate my eternal Star to serving my King the Holy Spirit of Truth (Isaiah chapter 11 and 2 Corinthians 3:17) and proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, the day of God’s Salvation and the New Covenant (Luke 4:18-19, Isaiah chapter 61, 2 Corinthians 6:1-2, Jeremiah 31:31-34, Hebrews 8:7-13) by measuring the temple, unsealing the scroll in the book of Revelation and preaching the true metaphoric interpretation of the Gospel to the world inspired by Mt 13:35 and Ps 78:2 that states “I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world." Has Preacher Given Away God's Endgame? | Screen Rant
Tumblr media
Preacher is almost over, but it seems the series may have finally revealed God's actual plan. Preacher has some big questions to wrap up heading into its series finale, including mysteries regarding God as well as God's big plan for Jesse (and humanity as a whole). Jesse initially went in search of God, and then (having found him), he became increasingly annoyed with his creator's mysterious ways.
Throughout Preacher, God has been messing with Jesse, Cassidy, and Tulip - evading them, seeking them out, and conspiring with the Grail against them. God has also been helping them from time to time, and so it's never been clear what his endgame truly is.
Related: Preacher Season 4 Plays It Disappointingly Safe With Jesus
In Preacher's "The Lost Apostle," viewers may have simply seen more of the same: Tulip and Cassidy trying to save Jesse, only to be thwarted by God at the last moment, while God continues to aim for the apocalypse and enjoy messing with Jesse as much as possible. However, the opening scene of "The Lost Apostle" may have revealed his actual plan: God just wants to be loved, and is attempting to turn Jesse's hatred into love and gratitude - the ultimate challenge, for the ultimate being.
Tumblr media
'The Lost Apostle' starts with what seems to be another flashback, this time to Abraham, about to kill his son, Issac, because God told him to. As the traditional Biblical tale goes, Abraham takes his son outside, and is about to slaughter him when God descends to stay his hand. It was a test, to see if Abraham loved God enough to do it, and Abraham passed. Other than a few Preacher-esque tweaks (like Abe's accent), the story is plucked straight from the pages of Genesis, and Abraham is overcome with love and gratitude for God - which he laps up.
However, this isn't just any flashback. This is a home movie (or the divine version of one), and God is watching it on repeat. After a rewind or two, the shot then pans over to the tabletop diorama where God has figures of Jesse, the plane, and the bomb (as well as other models from various parts of the story so far). This seems to be a pretty solid hint: God's plan for Jesse is simply that he wants to get back to the days of Abraham, when he could test people in order to make them love him for sparing them. The fact that the story God chose to rewatch is from Genesis also seems like a serious wink toward the idea that God actually wanted Genesis to be created, so that it could come to Earth, find Jesse, and set this whole thing in motion.
RELATED: Why Preacher's Arseface Is Better Than The Comic Version
Tumblr media
While this may seem to be a ridiculous reason to plan out something as complicated as a superpowered preacher and a potential nuclear apocalypse, it actually fits with the character of God in the series. Although his appearance fits with that of the loving old-man-in-the-sky that many would expect, he's been shown to be selfish, cruel, and extremely mercurial. He'll switch sides, helping someone one moment and then hindering them the next. He openly laughs about 'carving a vagina' into Jesse's head with Herr Starr, and clearly wants to toy with him - Jesse's experiences on the raft at sea prove that!
His previous flashbacks also suggest that God's desire to be loved knows no bounds. When a dinosaur disobeyed his commands, he literally wiped them all off the face of the Earth. Apocalyptic responses to feeling unloved aren't impossible for this God, at all. God's conversations with Tulip also back this up; he consistently repeats that he is "a loving God" and that it's all part of his plan. God has even said that he is creating a 'pass/fail test' for humanity, which would fit with the idea that Jesse's decision to love him could be the thing that starts (or prevents) a nuclear annihilation.
Additionally, this is backed up by the comics (spoilers ahead!). In the original series, God is desperate for love, so much so that he arranges for Genesis to be created just to see if it could love him. And while the series may not choose to go that exact route, it's highly likely that God was in on the creation of Genesis from the start, and it's all just him amusing himself.

Tumblr media
If the big endgame is simply for God to turn someone who hates him into someone who loves him, for his own personal gratification, it would certainly make for an interesting end to the Preacher series. On one hand, this actually fits perfectly; the idea that God has no major plan but his own interests definitely suits a show that makes irreverence and dark humor its centerpiece. It would also be an excellent way to drive home the idea that it's not the major, apocalyptic, world-altering events that really matter, but the interactions between individuals (in this case, Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy). This plan also allows for loose ends to be tied up quite beautifully. Should God decide that Jesse passes his test, He would have the ability to simply stop the Grail (or wipe them out, because - let's face it - he does seem to enjoy that kind of thing), stop the apocalypse, and everyone gets to carry on as they were before.
However, this may well be an ending that is just a little too straightforward for Preacher - and there's something unsatisfying about the (literal) deus ex machina of having God just wrap it all up in the end. Could this entire, sprawling, complex apocalypse plan really all come down to God wanting a human to love him? Even for a God this selfish, that seems a little extreme. There may be much more going on here, including the apocalypse negotiations between Hitler and Jesus, and of course, the question of free will (something that also came up in God's conversations with Tulip). It definitely seems that neither the Saint of Killers, nor Genesis, are under God's command right now, which adds a wonderful layer of possibility to the proceedings, given that the Saint is currently out to kill God himself.
The most likely end is that God's plan is as selfish and simple as to make Jesse the representative of humanity in a pass/fail test to determine if a nuclear apocalypse is unleashed... but that Preacher is making a point that this God is fallible, by having his plan go awry. He may attempt to convince people that everything happening is something that he has planned, but the Saint of Killers, Jesus, Humperdoo, Hitler, and of course, Jesse & Co, are proving that free will is a powerful thing (perhaps even powerful enough to derail God's plans). With only four episodes to go, though, it won't be long before fans discover if "The Lost Apostle" was dropping hints or red herrings.

Boston Stunt Spectacular
Yeah, if this is post Crystal Kingdom then it probably is early spring, because Crystal Kingdom was literally midwinter.
"Griffin: Who you befriended on the— let’s see if Dad can even, do you remember?"
I dunno if "befriended" is QUITE the word. I guess she appreciated the day being saved.
Ooh, calling on them to solve a murder… well, they DID solve the murder last time. I still might have gone with Angus, personally.
"Neverwinter’s justicars discovered the bouquet had been cursed by powerful magics"
That's actually a fair thing to want Taako in on.
And she wants Magnus to fight alongside her, which is also a pretty good choice! At any rate, he's enthusiastic.
"Jess: If you’re still in touch with him— just a thought, but could you bring the boy detective too?"
Oh, she DID ask for him, although apparently as an afterthought. Or, I guess, she had no idea where to find him or whether they did.
Why does Clint/Merle hate Angus so much?
Aww, Travis got him a birthday present. And it was either a carved wooden duck or a carved wooden stag, because I don't think Magnus has heard of non-handmade gifts.
"the BattleFest franchise, which is the WWE, essentially, has been around in this world for about a decade or so."
This is probably not significant, but that's also about how long the relic war has been forgotten. Maybe it is significant? Everyone settled down and immediately started wrestling :P
"Justin: Taako is only familiar with the television show, because ‘Sizzle it Up with Taako,’ his cooking show, was on up against them on basic cable. Basic fantasy, fantasy cable,"
There's a disagreement between Justin, who persistently describes Taako's show as a TV show, and Griffin, who persistently refers to live shows from the cart only. Taako would really like TV to exist, but it doesn't. Maybe people just scry at events they'd really like to see and it kind of counts? Maybe TV existed on Taako's home world and he's slightly confused as a result?
"Griffin: [beat] 15 years in the future, he opens up a Magnus Park."
*cracks up* You just KNOW this guy reached the Day of Story and Song and realised he had the merchandising rights to 3/7ths of the heroes they'd just heard about.
Magnus BROUGHT HIS BEAR MASK.
"Jess: [beat] I am regretting how I have assigned the most important job. [all laugh]"
*pfft* Taako DOES get the good perception rolls, though.
"Taako: Yeah, carves, he’s good at carving stuff. I don’t understand what you’ll need him for, but… yeah."
Pay attention, Taako. What do you think they'll need Magnus for at a wrestling show?
Merle's like… stripes. That is it for his costume. Meanwhile Taako has a whole THING. Even if Taako's thing is 100% a good excuse for a costume he can snoop in.
"Merle: Son of a bitch cut my arm off. That’s what the hell happened—
Magnus: I SAVED. YOUR GODDAMN LIFE.
Merle: No, you cut it off!
Magnus: By Pan’s name!"
He doesn't even… this is 100% about getting at Magnus, not about the arm. Or he'd be angry with Kravitz.
Taako's allowed to keep his umbrella! And now I'm wondering how conscious Lup is of this, because I think she'd enjoy wrestling. Well. Maybe not personally, unless she's allowed to set things on fire, but like hell she wouldn't want to watch.
They're actually not being as awful to Angus as they sometimes are. Magnus is TRYING to be nice.
And Angus doesn't want to work, he wants to watch the show.
"Justin: At home? Uh, no, I’m gonna cast Leomund’s Secret Chest? Which lets, creates ‘an exquisite chest’ that I can hide on the Ethereal Plane."
You know, if Taako remembered the Hunger at all, he'd probably be much less inclined to use the Ethereal Plane for storage.
Taako just stole everyone's weapons which makes sense. If things get bad, he would really like them to have access to those, I suspect.
"Jess: We’re heels. [beat] Do you know what that means? [audience begins to laugh]
Magnus: No, what?
Merle: We make people feel better?"
*cracks up* Aw, Magnus is going to be disappointed. Being the villain really isn't his thing.
Ah, yeah, Magnus hates it. But Travis LOVES it.
Also, it occurs to me that it's really unfair that Jess can summon her weapon in the ring and no one else is allowed one? I guess she's trusted to be responsible with it?
"Clint: Kill him.
Justin: I’m not gonna kill -"
And THIS is why you send Taako rather than Merle. Dear god. This is like the thing where Merle tried to make Tom Boddett step in front of a train.
"Taako (as Tuff Greg): You got it, bubbeleh, any direction you want it aimed, or what?
Gruff voice: [beat] The -- FIGHTER-wards!"
*snort* I love that Taako often comes up with really smart plans, especially smart uses of magic, and is also still like… this. And once caused someone to say, in all seriousness, "the gum is not a lich".
"Griffin: Yeah, I think… uh, no, this is a different franchise probably than the one that Merle was a fan of."
What with thirty years ago being on a different planet and all.
Magnus randomly applauds Jeff Angel, which is very Magnus of him.
Magnus is better at being a jerk when he's NOT trying to be. (I love him, but just ask anyone from the Rockport Express.)
Taako just jumped into the wrestling match. Dude. This is great, but isn't watching out for murderers a TINY bit more important?
I forgot Arcane Eye was still active. Jesus, Taako. He's just everywhere.
"Griffin: The- It can get you up higher? Levitation, but like, a super efficient form of Levitation?"
*cracks up* Ladders, everyone.
Oh, no! Darts from above. There's an assassin in the catwalks and Taako is… NOT in the catwalks.
Oh my god. Oh my god! It's Klaarg!
"Taako: First off, let’s say the obvious: I’m sorry. Didn’t mean to try and kill ya."
I don't think that's exactly something you can do by accident…
OW! I don't think Taako HAS a whole lot of HP, if he's actually getting suplexed -- by a bugbear no less -- I think he's going to need Merle pretty soon.
"Clint: ―there’s a bunch of people underneath this!"
It's kind of funny considering how into killing Catwalk Boy he was, but, yeah. In a fucking wrestling stadium is not a great place to summon POISON GAS. At the very least he's going to kill the security guards!
"Griffin: As they get this bad bad poison damage and then they cast Gust of Wind to push the poison cloud directly downward into the ring."
You SEE? Idiot!
"Taako: I’m but a humble cooking wizard whose ratings are bound to improve if people start dying on this show."
Dark. Dear god, Taako. Daaaaark.
Aw. We're getting things fast forwarded because as it's a live show, Griffin can't let it take another episode.
Aww. Magnus runs to grab Angus.
Taako gave everyone's weapons back, proving that was a really useful bit of foresight.
Oh dear, Taako's down to one hit point, please avoid paradoxes by protecting the squishy wizard.
"Taako: THAT’S MY BOY! THAT’S MY BOY!! MY BEAUTIFUL, MAGIC BOY."
AWWWW.
"Taako: Toss it to the guy with the fork. [beat] [audience cheering]"
Oooh, my god. But I think this is probably MAGICAL, and we've been down that road once.
'k vetoed by virtue of size, probably a good thing.
"Taako: I can’t die. Literally, I can’t die! Don’t worry about me, I live longer than this!"
Taako's just going to rely on the fourth wall to protect him.
Do they have to win by saying NICE THINGS about one another? …Good luck with THAT.
Oh, Taako. But, come on, it's not that hard to compliment Angus. You were yelling about how awesome he was a moment ago.
Nonononono don't cast Zone of Truth, that's the LAST thing this needs. *laughing*
Thank goodness it was charmed!Klaarg. Really.
"Klaarg: That’s amazing, thank you for tying up my storyline like this."
*pfft*
*cheers them* They all did really well, even if Taako nearly DID poison an entire audience. Er. Again. (Sorry, Taako.)
And they were nice to Angus on his birthday!!!

Santa Biblia Del Nuevo Testamento Hechos 4,11 (Devocional) Holy Bible New Testament Acts 4,11

Holy Bible New Testament Acts 4,11 - Devotional
He is the stone that was rejected by you builders, that was placed by the head of the corner. Acts 4.11
Thought, comment, reflection: this is the stone that you builders did not put into anything. Because of their rejection and crucifixion of Jesus Christ, they have fulfilled one of their own prophecies, Psalm 118: 22; And since one part of that prophecy is now so literally fulfilled, you can be safe, just like the other; And this rejected stone will quickly become the cornerstone of the corner. See note in Matthew 21.42
This is the stone: this passage is found in Psalm 118.22. It is also quoted by our Savior, as appropriate to himself. See the notes in Matthew 21.42.
The ancient Jews applied this to David. In Targum in Psalm 118: 22, this passage is presented: "The son who was among the sons of Jesse and who was worthy to be made king, the builders rejected him." The New Testament writers, however, apply it without question to the Messiah. Compare Isaiah 28.16; Romans 9.33; Ephesians 2.20.
And from this passage, we can learn that God will nullify the devices and plans of evil men to accomplish his own purposes. What people despise and devalue, esteem invaluable value in their kingdom. What the great and the powerful despise, consider the base and the cornerstone of the building you intend to create. Nothing has been more remarkable than that in the history of man; and in no way is there more contempt in the proud projects of the people, than what they rejected God made the basis of their plans.
Confession of faith
I confess my sin and ask for forgiveness, and free me from all condemnation. I recognize Jesus Christ as my only and sufficient Savior and Lord of my life. Write my name in the Book of Life.

Biden-Graham friendship, forged in war zones, fractures under the pressures of impeachment and Trump(May Lindsay Graham BURN IN HELL)
By Greg Jaffe and Matt Viser | Published December 21 at 4:44 PM ET |
Washington Post | Posted Dec 23, 2019
Joe Biden and Lindsey O. Graham were hurtling over the Hindu Kush mountains, bound for Kabul and a war that both men knew was veering badly off track.
Biden was two weeks away from being sworn in as vice president and had chosen Graham, who he said had the “best instincts in the Senate,” to accompany him on the trip. Graham, eager to carve out a new role in a changing Washington, jumped at the invitation.
Both men wanted to send a message to then-Afghan President Hamid Karzai — and to their fellow Americans — that the 2008 election was behind them, and that Republicans and Democrats were now united in their resolve to arrest the long-neglected Afghanistan war’s decline.
“The campaign is over,” Graham said, “but the war is not.”
Nearly 11 years, two presidential elections and a historic presidential impeachment hearing have passed since Biden and the Republican senator from South Carolina flew off together to Kabul. Today their friendship, their war zone trip and its bitter aftermath offers a view into how two of the most prominent politicians of their era have tried to adapt to a changing Washington, a norm-breaking presidency and the country’s rancorous politics. The pressures have tested their ideals, their friendship and, at times, their faith in their country.
As impeachment shifts to the Senate, the two men seem to be on a collision course.
Graham’s attacks threaten not only their friendship but also the very rationale of Biden’s Democratic presidential campaign, one that promises to return the country to a less partisan time — an era when Biden could work with Republicans as partners and friends. It’s a vision that even some in his own party dismiss as naive. If Biden can’t break through with Graham, critics wondered, what chance does he have with other Republicans?
Last month, in an attempt to shift attention away from President Trump’s alleged misdeeds in Ukraine, Graham asked the State Department for materials related to Hunter Biden’s work for a Ukrainian energy company. He also demanded the declassification of transcripts of calls between the elder Biden and Ukrainian officials.
Only a few weeks earlier, Graham said he had no intention of investigating the Bidens. “I’m not going to turn the Senate into a circus,” he vowed.
Then, under pressure from the White House, Graham insisted that his relationship with Biden shouldn’t preclude a proper Senate investigation.
The line of inquiry infuriated Biden. “Lindsey is about to go down in a way that I think he’s going to regret his whole life,” the former vice president said, shaking his head.
A few days later, Biden’s frustration spilled out in an exchange with an 83-year-old Iowa farmer who suggested that Biden and his son had acted improperly in Ukraine. “You’re a damn liar!” said Biden, striding toward the man, who held his ground. “That’s not true. No one has ever said that.”
It was, in fact, similar to what Graham had suggested.
In January 2009, such rancor between the two men seemed inconceivable. As Biden and Graham huddled on their plane, the senators pored over CIA reports that showed al-Qaeda was reestablishing training camps in Pakistan’s tribal areas, just outside the reach of U.S. forces. In Afghanistan, the U.S. military and CIA reports spoke to staggering levels of government corruption, mounting Afghan casualties and a resurgent Taliban that was rapidly advancing toward the capital.
Their military plane approached Kabul International Airport, ringed by snow-covered mountains. Down on the tarmac, a clutch of generals and Foreign Service officers waited in the cold. Soon their traveling party would board a Blackhawk helicopter that would whisk them to the presidential palace, where Karzai was waiting.
They agreed that they were going to push the Afghan leader to crack down on longtime political allies and family members who had been looting the country, according to contemporaneous interviews done for Bob Woodward’s 2010 book, “Obama’s Wars.” Neither had much faith that their pressure on Karzai would work.
“I dread this meeting,” Graham said.
“Me, too,” Biden replied.
POWER OF THE SENATE TO HEAL
Five days after their joint meeting with Karzai, Biden and Graham were back in Washington, where Biden took to the Senate floor to bid farewell to the place that shaped his view of the nation and its politics.
There were no female senators when Biden was elected. No computers. No fax machines. By the time he was leaving, there had been 1,900 senators in American history, and Biden had served with 320 of them. “The United States Senate has been my life, and that is not a hyperbole,” he said. “It literally has been my life.”
His speech that day focused on the power of the Senate — and friendships like the one he was building with Graham — to alter the course of American politics and heal the wounds of slavery and segregation.
Biden recalled his bonds in the Senate with three former segregationists: Robert C. Byrd (D-W.Va.), Jesse Helms (R-N.C.) and Strom Thurmond (R-S.C.). From his deathbed, Thurmond asked Biden to speak at his funeral. To many Democrats, Thurmond was an unrepentant racist. To Biden he was a man saved by his service in the Senate.
“Every good thing I have seen happen here, every bold step taken in the 36 years I have been here, came not from the application of pressure by interest groups, but through the maturation of personal relationships,” Biden said.
It was Thurmond’s retirement at age 100 that opened a pathway for Graham’s ascendance to the Senate. In the years that followed, Graham and Biden crisscrossed the globe together with their mutual friend Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).
When the Iraq War looked lost in 2005, Biden and Graham traveled to Baghdad, returning home to warn President George W. Bush that the country was on the brink of civil war. Their 2009 trip to Afghanistan had been just as eventful. Over dinner, Biden and Graham hammered Karzai on his failings, the country’s growing heroin trade and his brother’s alleged corruption.
“We can’t come to Afghanistan without hearing about your brother,” Graham told Karzai. When the Afghan president accused the Americans of indifference to civilian deaths, Biden abruptly ended their meal. “This is beneath you, Mr. President,” Biden said. He and Graham stormed out together. Back in Washington, President-elect Barack Obama told reporters that he was drafting Graham as “one of our counselors in dealing with foreign policy.”
This was the kind of politics — collegial, bipartisan, conciliatory — that Biden wanted to celebrate. As he bid goodbye to the Senate, Biden recalled his relationship with one more reformed segregationist, former Democratic senator John Stennis of Mississippi.
In 1988, Stennis had given Biden a prized conference table from his office where he and his fellow Dixiecrats had gathered to plot the demise of the civil rights movement. Stennis had dubbed it “the flagship of the Confederacy.”
“It’s time this table passes from the man who was against civil rights into the hands of a man who was for civil rights,” Biden recalled Stennis telling him. By that point in his life, cancer had ravaged Stennis’s body and cost him a leg. From his wheelchair, Stennis told Biden of his late-in-life conversion and belief that the civil rights movement had done “more to free the white man than the black man.”
“It freed my soul,” Stennis said. “It freed my soul.”
To some, the table would have been a symbol of hatred, a reminder of the men who fought to perpetuate America’s original sin and the racism that still infected the nation’s politics. To Biden, it represented possibility and the transformative powers of the Senate.
SHAPED BY DIFFERENT ERAS
In a dark conference room at the National Guard Memorial Museum, Graham stood to Biden’s right, dressed in his crisp Air Force uniform. It was late June 2015. After 33 years as a lawyer in the reserves, he was retiring. Biden, just two weeks removed from his son Beau’s funeral, had come to help send him off.
A few days later, Graham was touring Iowa as part of his long-shot presidential run. In the back seat of a rental car, he grew emotional as he spoke about Biden. “If you can’t admire Joe Biden as a person, then you’ve got a problem,” he told HuffPost. “You need to do some self-evaluation, because what’s not to like?
“He’s the nicest person I think I’ve ever met in politics,” he continued. “He is as good a man as God ever created.”
Graham’s comments in the back of the rental car came just days after Trump glided down the golden escalator at Trump Tower, launching his presidential campaign with an unprecedented attack on Mexicans and McCain’s heroism in Vietnam.
Graham responded by calling Trump a “jackass” who was “appealing to the dark side of American politics” and had no place in the Republican Party. “He’s a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot,” Graham added later in the year. “I’d rather lose without Donald Trump than try to win with him.”
Graham voted for Evan McMullin, a long-shot independent, in 2016. By 2017, though, he was already acceding to the demands of Trump’s Washington. Graham dined with Trump at the White House and gave the president his new cellphone number. Trump had broadcast his old one from a campaign stage in a fit of pique. He became a regular Trump golf partner and, in what was becoming the most direct path to power and influence in the Trump White House, a cable news defender of the president.
Though they were friends, Graham and Biden had been shaped by different eras. Biden entered a Senate dominated by World War II veterans and the apocalyptic demands of the Cold War. Graham came to Washington in 1995, when American power was at its apex and lawmakers could spend months focused on President Bill Clinton’s infidelities with a White House intern. He was the floor manager during the Clinton impeachment hearings, where he tried and failed to persuade the Senate to call Monica Lewinsky to provide live testimony.
Before his death in 2018, McCain had asked both men to eulogize him. Their speeches captured their contrasting views of America and its politics.
Biden recalled a moment during the Clinton years when party leaders chastised him and McCain for sitting next to each other in the Senate chambers. “This is the mid-’90s,” Biden said. “It began to go downhill from there.”
But at an even stormier moment in American politics, Biden’s eulogy was unapologetically optimistic. “Many of you travel and see how the rest of the world looks at us. They look at us a little naive, so fair, so decent,” Biden said. “We’re the naive Americans. That’s who we are. That’s who John was.”
Graham also praised McCain’s courage and capacity for forgiveness in the wake of his captivity in Vietnam and his presidential defeats. But in eulogizing his old friend, Graham focused on his own and his country’s limits. Unlike McCain, Graham wasn’t a war hero or political maverick who could buck the president or his party on hot-button issues such as health care, immigration and climate change.
“The void to be filled by John’s passing is more than I can do,” Graham said on the floor of the Senate as he fought back tears. “Don’t look to me to replace this man.”
INEVITABLE CONFRONTATION
So far Biden has built his presidential campaign around many of the same “soul of America” sentiments that surfaced in his McCain eulogy. Graham, meanwhile, has moved ever closer to a full embrace of Trump, the president who McCain pointedly banned from attending his funeral.
Until recently, Graham and Biden had been able to avoid a direct confrontation. But Biden’s presidential aspirations and the increasingly contentious impeachment battle have made a confrontation inevitable.
Trump has put Biden at the center of his impeachment defense, insisting that Biden used his influence over U.S. foreign policy to engineer the firing of a Ukrainian prosecutor who was investigating Burisma, a Ukrainian gas company that employed Hunter Biden. There’s no evidence that Biden acted to protect his son or that Hunter was ever a target of the probe. Even as he has described Biden as “a fine man,” Graham has defended Trump’s efforts to dig up dirt on his rival and suggested that Biden and his son might be guilty of wrongdoing.
The Senate Judiciary Committee, chaired by Graham, has no clear oversight role regarding Ukraine, but Graham has asked for transcripts of Biden’s calls with Ukraine’s former president and records of Hunter Biden’s interactions with State Department officials. “I hope there’s nothing there. Reveal the transcripts. Trump released the transcripts,” Graham said in an interview with Fox News Radio last month. “All I’m asking is that somebody look at this line of inquiry. It does look very suspicious to me.”
Biden responded by trying to shame Graham. Asked by CNN if he had any words for his friend, Biden paused for several seconds to think, and replied: “Lindsey, I . . . I . . . I’m just embarrassed by what you’re doing, for you. I mean, my Lord.”
The two men have spent part of the past two weeks pondering the state of their relationship and what it says about the nation’s increasingly bitter politics. “My friendship with Joe Biden, if it can’t withstand me doing my job, it’s not the friendship I thought we had,” Graham said. “Everything I said about him in 2015 is true. I admire him as a person. I think he’s always trying to do right by the country. . . . But we’re not going to allow a system in America where only one side gets looked at.”
As Biden’s campaign bus rolled through Iowa recently, reporters asked what was driving Graham to investigate him and his son. Biden offered a simple explanation: “Donald Trump. Donald Trump. Donald Trump.”

20+ Funniest Reactions About The Bachelorette Finale Because Peter Didn’t “Bend The Knee”
In case you missed it…
The Bachelorette just had its final episode, and boy, was it a winger. After everything Peter did and said, about professing his desire to build something, to create something with Rachel, she ended up picking Bryan. By default, too, because Peter didn’t go down on one knee.
And Twitter was furious. For good reason too. Everyone loves Peter, he’s attractive, wholesome, emotionally stable, and looks like the kind of guy you spend you could build something with. Whereas Bryan… Well, he’s Bryan.
Judging by your reactions, it looks like none of you enjoyed the finale.

On May 5, 2017, Bob Jones University granted Representative Trey Gowdy (R-SC) and honorary doctorate. In receiving this degree, Congressman Gowdy joins the ranks of the following recipients:
Strom Thurmond
Robert Ketchum (father of the infamous Donn Ketchum)
Billy James Hargis
George Wallace
Lester Maddox
Jesse Helms
Carl McIntire
Ian Paisley
Olin Johnston
Lindsay Graham
Bob Inglis
David Beasley
John Ashcroft
Here’s the transcript of the remarks today from Professor Linda Abrams, President Steve Pettit, and the Congressman.
Pettit: I’d like now to recognize Mrs. Linda Abrams, Associate Professor of Social Science, and she will come present to Congressman Harold Watson Trey Gowdy the Third the degree of Doctor of Laws.
Abrams: President Pettit: In a day when many elected officials have forgotten the meaning of the term public servant the, man standing before you has not. Our honoree has exemplified the concept of public servant for his entire career. After graduating from Spartanburg High School, he attended Baylor University and then law school at the University of South Carolina where he was a member of the prestigious Order of the Wig and Robe. After law school he began serving as a public prosecutor and was awarded the highest performance rating two years in a row.
In 2004 he was elected as South Carolina's Seventh District Solicitor. He fought crime through the judicial system and worked tirelessly for victims rights. He created a violence against women task force and implemented a drug mother protocol designed to assist expectant mothers in breaking the cycle of addiction.
He took his next step in public service in 2010 when he was elected to the 4th District Congressional Seat. Bob Jones University is one of 17 institutions of higher education in the 4th District.
Our honoree has demonstrated in Washington the same strong work ethic that he exhibited as a federal prosecutor and a solicitor.  He is committed to holding the national government accountable to the people upon which the government is based. He serves with distinction on the House Committees on Intelligence, Ethics, Oversight and Government Reform, and Judiciary where he also chairs the Subcommittee on Crime Terrorism, Homeland Security and Investigations. This is more committee work than any other member of the US Congress. In January he was named to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence — the first time in history a member from South Carolina has been named to this important committee.
He is married to the former Terry Dillard. They have two children, Watson and Abigail, and two dogs, appropriately named Jury and Bailiff.
During the founding years of the United States, Noah Webster said, “In selecting men for office, let principle be your guide. Regard not particular sect or persuasion of the candidate. Look to his character.” The people of the 4th District have certainly heeded the advice of Mr. Webster in their selection of their congressman. It is my distinct honor to present to you for the degree Doctor of Laws, the Honorable Trey Gowdy.
Trey, it gives me a great personal pleasure to award this honorary degree to you. First of all, you have our deep respect for your convictions. You are among real friends here. We respect you for your stand for truth and principle. We love you as a native South Carolinian, and we are proud to call you our US congressman. So when the word came up from our our board of trustees about honoring you today, we just knew that this would be the right thing. And so thank you. Thank you for your faithfulness. And by the Charter from the State of South Carolina and the authority vested in me by the Board of Trustees, I am pleased to confer upon you the honorary degree Doctor of Laws.
Gowdy: Thank you. Thank you. I want to say thank you. It took my father 13 years and really good grades to become a doctor. And it took me an afternoon and mediocre grades. So thank you for … thank you for that. I want to thank Bob Jones University. But … but also what I refer to as the Bob Jones community for your contributions. It’s not just to the community and the State and the nation, but literally as we heard today to the world. On a personal level, I want to thank the Bob Jones community for your friendship with me especially over the past seven years. But even before that … a source of encouragement when warranted and a source of accountability when needed. So let me say thank you for that.
I want to just briefly address the graduates. You have two of the most incredible commodities known: time and youth. This is a great time to rest and reflect for just a second. Reflect on the people that helped you get here. Rest and reflect on your accomplishments to this point. But I have to tell you the one advantage I have over you in life is, I’ve been your age and you’ve never been my age. 31 years ago I was sitting where you were sitting in Waco, Texas. And time goes very quickly. Let me tell you what I wish someone had told me 31 years ago: there is a truth. It is objective. It is identifiable, and there's a model: His name is Jesus. You need to have a code by which you live that you do not deviate from. Number one, I wish someone had told me there's a code — find it. There’s a model for that code — live it. Number two, always value education. One of my favorite books in the Bible is the book of Habakkuk, and some of you are wondering whether that really is a book in the Bible. It is a book in the Bible, and I like that book because Habakkuk asks God why it’s okay to ask why. Value education. Ask “Why?” Ask people, “How do you know that?” But don’t ever forget — there is an objective, identifiable truth. Thirdly, help other people. Ms. Abrams mentioned that my wife of 28 years is a teacher. She will help more people in a school calendar year than a member of Congress who serves for three decades. Help other people. Lastly, you will have a choice in life to pursue success as the world finds it or, what I prefer, which is significance. You'll have a choice: success or significance, fame or something more foundational. I work in the city named for George Washington, fly into an airport named for Ronald Reagan, and every week I have a choice which side of the plane am I going to look out of. As we descend into the airport, I can look to the left and I can see the monuments to Lincoln and Jefferson and Dr. King. And I can see buildings and statutes and roads named after all the famous people. And there is a temptation, there is an allure to look out the left-hand side of the plane. I would encourage you to resist that temptation and do what I do: look out the other side of the plane at these very gently rolling hills punctuated by elegant white crosses at a place we call Arlington. And most of us can’t name five people there. Be at those quiet lives of conviction and virtue or what made the country. It’s still what makes the country. It’s forever what will make the country. Lead a life of conviction and virtue. Choose significance over success. God bless you. Congratulations.

The Revelation Unsealed Improvised Talks By Leslie (aka Jesse) Hughes ©
The book of Revelation proclaims there is a scroll that can be unsealed (Rev Chapter 5:1-5) by measuring (Rev 11:1, Eze 40:3) the temple, altar and worshipers until there is a Victory of the White Horse, Lamb and Word of God (Rev 17:14, Rev 15: 7, Rev 19:11-21), a New Heaven and New Jerusalem (Rev Chapters 21 and 22, 2Pe 3:13), and a New Covenant (Heb 8: 7-13, Jer 31:31-34).
“Here I am, it is written about me in the scroll
I have come to do your will O God” (Heb 10:7, Isa 11, Ro 15:12)
To proclaim the New Order and the New Covenant (Heb 8: 7-13, Jer 31:31-34)
To unseal the scroll in the book of Revelation (Rev 5:1-5)
To measure the temple of God and the altar
And to count the worshipers there (Rev 11:1, Eze 40:3-4)
Until there is a Victory of the Word of God who is the Lamb and White Horse
(Rev 17:14, Rev 15: 7, Rev 19:11-21)
A New Heaven, New Earth, and New Jerusalem (Rev Chapters 21 and 22, 2Pe 3:13)
And a change of the priesthood, from the order of Aaron
To the order of Melchizedek (Hebrews Chapter 7, Acts 13:20-23)
 (Lk 4:18-19)
"The Spirit of the Lord is on me
Because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
And recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed
To proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."
I am a New Order, New Age and New Covenant Gospel Rock and Roller preaching the Gospel to the world in the tradition of Dylan and Springsteen. My songs and spoken words metaphorically interpret the Bible and book of Revelation, helping to shine a light upon Bob Dylan’s lyrical clues. I serve the Spirit of the Lord, and dedicate my eternal Star to serving my King the Holy Spirit of Truth (Isaiah chapter 11 and 2 Corinthians 3:17) and proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, the day of God’s Salvation and the New Covenant (Luke 4:18-19, Isaiah chapter 61, 2 Corinthians 6:1-2, Jeremiah 31:31-34, Hebrews 8:7-13) by measuring the temple, unsealing the scroll in the book of Revelation and preaching the true metaphoric interpretation of the Gospel to the world inspired by Mt 13:35 and Ps 78:2 that states “I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world."

(Please note that a Jew and Israelite in a metaphoric interpretation of the Gospel is not a person of Jewish heritage, it is a metaphor for a part of all of us that is a Jew within and another part of us that is a Gentile within -see Romans 2:28-29- and how these two parts become one in Ephesians 2:14-22, Ezekiel 37:15-17 and Romans 3:27-31, also how there are those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars- see Revelations 3:9)
And always remember as 2Co 3:17 declares “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom”, and as Gal 5:14 proclaims “The entire law is summed in a single command “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

(RRevelation Unsealed Improvised Talk Version 98(NEW MIX VERSION)The Somewhere Spoken Mix Version Twelve By Leslie (aka Jesse) Hughes © The book of Revelation proclaims there is a scroll that can be unsealed (Rev Chapter 5:1-5) by measuring (Rev 11:1, Eze 40:3) the temple, altar and worshipers until there is a Victory of the White Horse, Lamb and Word of God (Rev 17:14, Rev 15: 7, Rev 19:11-21), a New Heaven and New Jerusalem (Rev Chapters 21 and 22, 2Pe 3:13), and a New Covenant (Heb 8: 7-13, Jer 31:31-34).
