because I just finished watching it: your opinion on the BCS ending?

The BCS finale was... fine. It's what the series was building to in terms of the choices that Jimmy and Kim made. I loved the splash of color on Jimmy and Kim's shared cigarette, the final scene of Jimmy and Kim watching each other as she departs from the prison and Jimmy's unreturned finger gun salute (I think that was the end of their relationship, btw).

The rest of it didn't totally land. I think it was better conceptually than it was in execution because the maneuvering between plot points was abrupt. Maybe a niche example but Kim's confession would have been more impactful to me if it had been aimed at Howard's father, rather than his wife. The other 'H' in HHM had been hanging there since the beginning of the series, whereas I don't think Howard's wife was directly mentioned until the final season. And, look, a lot of the energy that I could have been using to feel sad during that scene went into suspending my disbelief that Howard Hamlin is straight.

Obviously a lot of this is personal preference, and in general I'm super hard to please when it comes the endings. It's also been almost a year (wow) since I watched it.

Second Most Kudos: The Lady of Casterly Rock--Jaime resented his little wife at first, but increasingly, she has his attention. [I love this one, but it's so crazy to me that a Jaime/Sansa fic has gotten this much love from other people.]

Third Most Comments: Wait But Don't Ask--Jon considered asking Sansa out, but she beats him to the punch with an even bigger question, putting on hold any possibility of something more between them.

Fourth Most Bookmarks: Saskatoon Berry Pie--When Sansa loses her family in a rail accident, she makes her way to Saskatchewan in search of sanctuary with her cousin, Jon Snow.

Fifth Most Words: Lady Lannisport--Tywin Lannister means to bring together two fine families through the marriage of his eldest son, Lord Lannisport, to the eligible Miss Stark. It would be a good enough match if they did not both despise each other.

Fewest Words: Tempered Steel--Tyrion comes to his lady wife in the godswood to lead her back to court. [Being fandom old, I didn't count drabbles or ficlets, so this is my shortest oneshot, coming in right at 1001 words. It also happens to be the first time I wrote Jon/Sansa, but I buried it in the subtext because it was 2011, Jon/Sansa had no presence on LiveJournal and 5 fics on AO3, and I thought there might be something wrong with me, lol.]
