Before your anon goes off, I wanted to ask what’s the significance of “Laguna”, if there’s any, with Bangtan. If you’ve already posted about this, I’m sorry for bothering you…but I’d appreciate if you could kindly link me. 💜 Thank you.

It’s sort of an old one, but I wondered if you had any insights on this… I’m aware there’s an American interview segment where a female reporter asks what they’ve done or where they’ve visited in the U.S., to which NJ answers a few things/locations mentioning Laguna, then the members react by giggling.

Was the fandom talking about this moment just because Laguna Beach is a safe place for 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ LGBTQ community, or is there more to it? I’ve even eavesdrop fans mentioning a secret Laguna 👨🏻‍❤️‍💋‍👨🏻💍 rumor about KM once(!) but I was too shy to join the conversation.

Hi lovely anon! Thank you for all your kind words. I've spoken a few times before on my opinions of the marriage rumors regarding jikook in terms of toyko and laguna, aka, they make me cringe a bit. Lol and are often incredible illogical, far fetched and rooted in fantasy shipping. The most important being illogical. Lol but those rants would probably be under my masterlist of correcting misinformation. But REGARDLESS. Yes, let's talk Laguna. I do not know why Jikook got all giggly over Laguna. There could be a few reasons. I'll give you a few I can think of that, to me, make infinite more sense than they secretly got married. Lol but yes, jkkrs tend to note this moment and Laguna as a jikook place because of this reaction. Their immediate turning to each other and giggling as well as Jin looking between them and smiling. Made it seem like a place of importance to the 2 of them. And jkkrs of course, would make note of Laguna Beach being very LGBTQ friendly.

So to me, the reason they got all giggly could simply be:

1) they are listening to all this English passing by fairly quickly and reacted to a word that they immediately recognized as one that they knew. And jikook, in typical jikook fashion, turned towards each other to share in each other's joy. As they often do.

2) they have spoken about and talked about wanting to plan a vacation there or a trip there together one day. Not to get married, but just to enjoy each other's company together in a beautiful place that is also queer friendly to a queer couple. Even if they would still have to be aware of their fame and not outing themselves, etc. There would be a margin of extra freedom there I'm sure. Even just in seeing more LGBTQ freedom and happiness being openly expressed. Especially because in 2019 when this interview took place, they'd already joked and talked about wanting to take a trip together again and maybe it came up on the "maybe one day we will go here" list. Therefore causing a reaction when it got brought up as a place BTS would like to go to.

3) it caused a fond and happy reaction when it got brought up because it made them remember a fond and happy memory they had together at Laguna Beach. No, not a romantic memory (unless they went back sometime between 2017 and 2019 that we don't know about, which with how much of a popular and populated spot Laguna is, they probably would've been spotted). But rather a fun or silly or just happy memory they shared on the Beach there together when they all went back in 2014. In August 2014, BTS visited Laguna Beach while they were there for KCON. And JK said that out of all the 5 beaches he has been to, Laguna is the best one in his opinion. And Jimin said like 8 times that he is dead serious about really wanting to come back to Laguna one day and how much fun he had. We see all this during Go! BTS when it was released about their trip was filmed

Any of those are probable reasons, or it could be something we couldn't guess at all. Who knows! I love how they share things and the way they look at each other though. It's so cute and sweet. The word clearly meant something, we just might never know what. And I do think this is something the jkkr fandom blows a tad bit out of proportion too. But that's just me!

In a very recent interview, JK said he'd like to perform on the moon...which of course made my Jikook brain light up like a Christmas tree in Laguna Beach. Also (!), I saw today that JKs photofolio photocards have the moon phases on the back, while Jimin's have crowns? Do you think that is true and if so, what do you make of that? Some rambling because I feel like I'll go insane from Jikook's entire ~thing~: Every few weeks I have this thought that I should appreciate Jimin's and Jungkook's friendship before whatever romantic notions I tend to interpret into their actions. And every time sth else comes up (Letter, the book chapter, GCFT & GCFS being so on the nose, the physical intimacy, the emotional intimacy, the timing of JK-lives and JM being on schedule, the whole JM-focused-live topic, the glances behind Namjoon's back at the GDA 2019...). I kinda see your point, anon, but let me make a counterpoint. The gay wedding destination of Laguna Beach probably did not make nearly the impression in 2014 as it did in, say, 2018.

In 2014 Jikook were kids. Literally. Jungkook was a minor no matter which age you used. Jimin was barely legal. Based on their 2014 behavior they might have kiiiinda been figuring out their orientations and attraction to each other. But by no means were they on gay inside joke terms. It’s very likely that one or both of them were still virgins at that time. I don’t think the cool gay beach wedding thing was on their minds, then.

By 2018 shit was Figured The Fuck Out And How. I mean they’d already been to Tokyo. Alone. In a suite with a glass bathroom. Pretty sure that even if you don’t think they were wildin before that GCF Tokyo and their behavior afterwards makes it pretty clear that they Been Knew About Things. By 2018 they were not only together, they were together bam complete with fireworks and exclusivity and commitment. Four years is a huge difference.

Now do I think they got legally married in Laguna? No. Neither of them are US citizens. But they may have had a commitment ceremony there or they saw one or maybe they just had hot beach sex. Something went down.

So I don’t know that there was a wedding. But I do know that something happened in Laguna and it was a lot later than 2014. And whatever they were on their giggly shit about in that link had nothing to do with AHL.

Basically Laguna beach ⛱️ in California allows gay marriage. It's a LGBT friendly place. Not to mention, BTS had actually been there way way way before NJ mentioned that they would like to visit there. Here's a short video that I found.

Not really, this 'laguna' moment of theirs continues to baffle me. I don't seem to understand the connection. Some say that they had, some say that they didn't .. we don't know anon. It's sus 🤭. Mr Kim Seokjin reaction is fishy. I have been paying a close look at the members reactions throughout events. Jin is mature, he's the eldest and he takes responsibility for them. Yes, he has a comedic side of him. But if you do observe him during American interviews,he's silent and keeps calm. It's fishy because he laughed at when jikook laughed... I suspect that he knows some tea haha.

I loved your evolution post but I just want to say something because I keep seeing it come up. in America, we are pretty much gay friendly everywhere except maybe the Deep South. Jikook can be influenced in California in general, not just Laguna beach. I am from NYC and I don’t believe it gets any more gay friendly. I am sure the US in general has a great impact every time they visit. To my international Jikookers who maybe are not accepted where you live for who you love, we love you here

I'm sorry if that part of the post caused misunderstanding. Of course by that, I meant the US as a whole country and not just Laguna beach. I mentioned Laguna because of that moment from Grammy's 2019 which showed jikook have a significant memory of that place, only speculations. AHL was JM's first time being in the US and JK had spent a short time there in 2012, that's why we witnessed more change in JM than JK.

You didn't say Jungkook is most likely to get married first lol. In one of the interviews in America, ghey were asked 'who is the most likely to get married first' and members chose Jungkook. They were also asked who is the most popular with ladies and they chose Jungkook again.

These two are moments that makes me doubt Jikook. Since when first question was asked, Taehyung and Jimin chose Jungkook with a face that said they knew something we didn't know about Jungkook. Jungkook is popular with the ladies, and? I find several men who are gay attractive. They don't want anything to do with me but I still find them attractive. I'm sure there are many jikookers who are straight who find Jimin and Jungkook attractive. I'm not saying that's the case (them being gay), but it's a possibility.

I know several men who are gay who are good with women. They are not sexually or physically attracted to them but they are good at flirting. And women just like them. A friend of a friend of mine from college who is lesbian, used to flirt with men in nightclubs to get free booze, not exactly right but she did it, she was good at flirting with the opposite sex, even though she wasn't physically or sexually attracted to them. She is popular with the opposite sex. I'm not saying that's the case with Jungkook but it's a possibility.

About Jungkook being the first to get married, Just because same-sex marriage is not allowed in korea doesn't mean it's not allowed in other parts of the world. Maybe Jungkook will move to California with Jimin and go to Laguna beach and get married. Or maybe one day they will travel to Laguna beach and get married and go back to Korea, no one would have to know. I'm not saying that's the case, but it's a possibility.

The fact that Korea is a square society does not mean that all its inhabitants are too.

Jungkook also once said that Jimin would be great to marry. Does that mean he will marry Jimin?

You say that when Jimin replied that the first to marry would be Jungkook had a "knowing face and smile" it didn't occur to you that Maybe Jimin was referring to him? I'm not saying that's the case, but it's a possibility.

I'm sure there are a lot of things we don't know about Jungkook. That we don't know about any of them.

And yes, maybe Jimin and Jungkook are not a couple. That is also a possibility.

DISCLAIMER: I’m not hating on people who believe this, I’m just explaining my position and alternatives

The idea that JM and JK have been together for 6 years and are married is....a lot to say the least. I don’t know their relationship but if I’m going by the logic in their actions I wouldn’t at all think this. I feel like I’m the rare person who thinks they’re probably actually together but not like married or something lol

“Gay wedding rings”, a trip to Tokyo Disney, and a shady reaction to “Laguna” isn’t really a confirmation. Let me explain.

Gay “Wedding” Rings

It definitely looks like they have worn those same rings from that infamous Google search, but let me offer a few alternative explanations that’s just as plausible if not more than the idea of them being married to each other:

It’s jewelry their stylists assigned for them without much regard to the styles. Celebrities wear stuff all the time that their stylists handpick for them without the stylist or the celebrity really understanding the symbology behind it--this is evident from the fact that so many idols wear clothes and accessories with curse words in different languages on them or other profane/inappropriate sayings/symbols on them

They bought them together, but instead of an engagement ring, it’s a promise ring for each other or holds some other kind of symbolism

I’m personally more inclined to believe #2 and really think that the symbolism behind those rings is nothing close to “we’re engaged” and is more so something representing progress in their personal relationship (relationship in this context not necessarily being romantic but just a relation between two people). Obviously, I think it could have romantic implications, just not marriage lol

Tokyo Disney/GCF in Tokyo

I am pretty much going with conventional sentiment here that this video has a romantic undertone. I do think it was more so made for Jimin than for the fans about Tokyo. I also think that they seemed to get even closer from this point on. However, I don’t think this was their “honeymoon” or “wedding”. Actually, I think this has a few alternative explanations that could each be plausible:

This was simply a birthday gift for Jimin where they just had fun together and took a rest since this was actually their vacation time. JK made GCF in Tokyo with the intention of documenting mostly Tokyo but found Jimin to be a more engaging subject

This was a birthday trip but also where JK may have made his romantic feelings for Jimin known. JK made GCF in Tokyo with the intention of documenting Jimin as a ‘love letter’ of sorts

This is when they decided they’d pursue something more serious other than just flirting around. JK had the intention of expressing this through GCF in Tokyo, hence his strategic song choice

This was just a fun birthday trip but with the addition that it unexpectedly brought them closer romantically, which is what compelled JK to create GCF in Tokyo

I am more inclined to believe #4. I think that if it is the case they have romantic feelings for each other (which, it seems that way IMO), then it’s more plausible that the trip just brought it out even more, to a further degree and JK started to become more serious about his feelings. It would explain the song choice for that video better than “they got married/honeymooned”. If you just got married why would you want to or even have to remind your partner to “be there for you” the same way you’re there for them? It’s a huge part of the song and would seem like a huge red flag in a new relationship if your partner isn’t reciprocating those feelings

Laguna

Alright now this is a pretty recent idea that a lot of people have considered. It’s the idea that JK watched a video that was filmed at Laguna Beach for inspiration on GCF Saipan. Because gay couples can legally marry in California (and, consequently, at Laguna Beach), and when RM mentioned going to “Laguna” in an interview Jimin and JK looked at each other and laughed, they must have gotten married at Laguna Beach. 

To me, this is the biggest reach of them all. If they were to have gotten married, not only could Jimin and JK have gotten married at literally any of their other American tour/promotional destinations at that time (seriously--they went to Los Angeles and Las Vegas multiple times but we have no proof they ever even went to Laguna Beach. LA is about an hour away from Laguna Beach and has dozens of its own beaches to get married at if one wishes), but like if they did get married there, where is the proof and when would they have the time? Because I guarantee you there would be. Armies follow them around everywhere, and especially in populous areas like Laguna Beach, which is one of the most popular beach destinations in Southern California... It just doesn’t make sense that no one would have seen this “wedding” and that they’d even have time to have a ceremony given that they’re only ever in one American destination for ~1 week at a time, and most of that time is spent performing, rehearsing, and running the promo circuit. They never go there just to vacation

Also, we have no proof that JK actually even watched that video particularly. I mean, it’s possible but like??? It’s still kind of stretching it given that nearly all beach vlogs have similar aesthetics and techniques. We also don’t know why Jin was laughing in that video. Like, yeah, he could’ve been laughing because he knew they secretly got married there, but he also just could’ve been laughing because laughter is contagious and the two next to him just started laughing out of seemingly nowhere. I look at it this way: if he was laughing because ‘haha that’s where they got married/are planning to get married’ then why did he ask, months later, if they were dating? Even jokingly?

So, with that said, here are some alternative explanations for why Laguna was so funny to them:

JK did watch that video, told Jimin about it, and now they want to go there for vacation either to spend time with each other or because of the potential debauchery that could take place in a tropical destination with tons of sexy people roaming around

They went to Laguna Beach back during AHL and had some memorable moments there

I truly think they do know about Laguna Beach and obviously want to go there (RM actually said this), but I honestly don’t know why it was funny to JM and JK. I will say though that I don’t think it’s funny because ‘haha, joke’s on Namjoon, we’re married’, but because of almost any other reason tbh. The marriage thing just doesn’t hold weight there to me

Now that I’ve said all that, I kind of want to talk about my issue with attaching the word “gay” to everything and how that’s used with Jikook. Maybe that’ll be my next long post...

Hey so I think you heard about camila Shawn break up after being together for 2 years.

In west getting into a relationship and breaking up fastly is not a big deal among celebrities. In my country also it's similar. In kpop also, none of the idol - idol couple have dated more than 1 year. Maximum is 2 years and they will breakup and find another gf or br. The only idol - idol couple , officialy known to us, who are dating for more than 6 years are hyuna and dawn.

So how is it possible for jikook to have this long term relationship. They , if our observations are correct , are together for atleast 5 years. Isn't it a strech to think so. Two attractive men like them being in the same relationship for this long. And they seem like they are happy togther.

They both are surrounded by attractive men and women full time, which includes celebrities, idols, staff and fans. Won't they consider breaking up as other idols after 1-2 yrs of being together and dating other people.

Awww anon that's one heck of a thought process you have, there. It's almost like you think people can't be famous and also be in long term relationships. Or that gay people don't have the same ability to love long term as straight people do. Or that attractive people are less likely to stay together. None of those ideas is a great look for you, anon, but I'm going to consider that you are possibly very young so 5-6 years feels really long to you. I'm also willing to cut you a little slack because we can't do better until we know better and you obviously don't know better. So here I am to educate you. You can call me Auntie now. For the purposes of this lesson we will look at a few gay male celebrity couples who have been together for at least 7-8 years, okay? This is Olympic diver Tom Daley and his husband, screenwriter/director/producer Dustin Lance Black. They've been together since 2013 publicly and have been married since 2015. They have one son. They were still playing grabby hands last week (pic from instagram).

Here are Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Birtka. They've been married since 2014 and have two children.

Oh hey there Sir Elton John and David Furnish! These icons have been together for 28 years and got married legally in 2014. They have twin sons and they hang out with the Harris-Birtkas a fair bit. Vacation on the yacht with our gay dads = best upbringing ever in my opinion.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband, actor Justin Mikita, married since 2013. They have one child.

Cheyenne Jackson and Jason Landau, also married since 2014 (being legal is important to a lot of gay committed couples and having to wait for that is a super bitch btw). They have two children.

And here is this other gorgeous gay couple who might or might not have already tied the knot in, say, Laguna Beach, California. Whether they're actually married has never been confirmed, but they're clearly in love. They haven't been together as long as the couples above, but hey - they're still young and I have faith in them.

I could go on but I think you get the idea. Sheez kids come on now.

Jikook and Laguna Beach will probably forever be one of the biggest mystery. First I wanna say I personally don't think Jimin and Jungkook got married. Not at Laguna Beach, not anywhere. I do believe they're romantically involved and have been for a long while but I doubt they're engaged or even married. In Korean culture it's not pretty common to get married before the age of 30. The median age for when Korean males who get married is 33 years.

But even if Jikook didn't get married, Laguna Beach means something to them, especially if you also look at Jin's reaction. Maybe it's interesting to know that both Jimin and Jungkook are fans of jewellery made by Chrome Hearts. Chrome Hearts is very expensive though and in their early days they couldn't afford it. There is a brand though, called Laguna Beach, which makes replicas of the Chrome Hearts jewellery though and sell it for a much cheaper price.

That obviously still doesn't explain their reaction though. Because why would they giggle like that over a brand that makes copies of jewellery they like? I really have no explanation for their behaviour but it's absolutely interesting.
