As the night approaches and you're on your way home, you might share a fleeting gaze with a total stranger on a passing bus in Muradpur, whom you're never going to see again..

And on that 7th day, there's no place I'd rather be. For that 7th day, I'd live the horrid 6 days a thousand times over.

Jalebi is a popular sweet dish in South Asia and the Middle East and west Asia, Africa, and Mauritius. It goes by many names, including jilapi, zelepi, jilebi, jilipi, zulbia, jerry, mushtak, z’labia, or zalabia. It is made by deep-frying a wheat flour batter in a spiral or pretzel shape, and then soaking it in a sugar syrup. Patients will divide their daily meals into three parts, Iftar, Sandhyarat and Sehri. Take a meal with insulin shortly before or immediately after Azan (as per your doctor's advice). Do not eat sweet food like Jilapi, Laddu, Barfi, Sweet, Sugary sharbet in iftar, drink grean coconut water. Eat less fried food like Samucha, Singara, Puri, Parota, Kebab etc. You can eat dates, but not more than one or two piece. Excess sugar and fatty foods should be avoided. Eat more salad and green vegetables. Skipping dinner is not right. Sehri food can never be omitted. At Sehri, take high fiber foods, red flour, red rice, vegetables and fruits. To eat at Sehri, the same amount of food as the lunch of other days and to take food shortly before the end of Sehri. Drink plenty of water from Iftar to Sehri.

My boyfriend really wanted to make a request and jilapi is one of his faves so :)

Jilapi is made of fried batter smothered with a delicious sweet syrup. Known by many other names and prepared in a variety of styles, it is a beloved treat in places throughout North Africa, East Africa, West Asia and South Asia. It’s not uncommon to find this dessert in South Asian cuisine restaurants or at city food carts near you, so don’t be shy about stopping by to try some out!
