I feel like everyone admiring Walton Goggins' great performance in Fallout needs to be aware of the incredibly dumb but hilarious ongoing bit on the Jordan, Jesse, Go! podcast where they were making fun of celebrity booze brands and getting listeners to devise theme songs for them which culminated in someone doing a super high-effort rendition of "Walton Goggins Has a Vodka" to the tune of Leonard Cohen's "Halleluljah".

The dream talk made me remember that one time I had a dream that Jordan Morris was a cashier at the grocery store. He started flirting with me and asked me out on a date and I wanted to hang out and was worried if I told him I was in a relationship he wouldn't hang out with me, so I went out with him and felt really guilty about leading him on.

It's time for Beginnings, the podcast where writer and performer Andy Beckerman talks to the comedians, writers, filmmakers and musicians he admires about their earliest creative experiences and the numerous ways in which a creative life can unfold.
Tumblr media
On today's episode, I talk to writer and comedian Jordan Morris. Originally from Mission Viejo, Jordan attended UC Santa Cruz, where he met his future podcasting partner Jesse Thorn, and in 2007, the two started one of the longest-running podcasts still going, Jordan, Jesse, Go! on the Maximum Fun network. As a writer, he's worked on everything from @midnight to Earth to Ned, and has also penned two graphic novels. The first, the Eisner-nominated Bubble, was based on his scripted podcast series of the same name, and his latest, Youth Group, a YA horror-comedy is available now for pre-order and will be out next year!
I'm on Twitter here and you can get the show with:

i don't want to think about actual plays but sometimes i remember how a large swath of people kept talking about critical role like it was a super sweaty unfun tryhard grognard slog that people would only listen to because they hated other actual plays for being too fun and gay... and the first ep of cr i listened to had a character flashing her tits to give another one advantage on a roll. and also it was a soap opera full of mooning over whatever person each character arbitrarily decided they were obsessed with.

Doodles from recently. Usagi plus some original doodles. Jordan Jesse Go! Talked about dogs being strapped together so I had to draw them doing cartwheels.

Not to be sincere but Max Fun is genuinely very good and run by good people and if you only think of Max Fun as the McElroy podcast network, i really encourage you to listen to some of their non-McElroy podcasts too

I haven’t listened to the full podcast yet but just hearing that clip of Rhett saying “fucking” (and knowing he’s talking about him and Link and using it in ~that way~) was enough for me to have an out of body experience. Oh my god. ☠️
It was a lot! x__x (Also there is a lot more to process like Jordan saying the mpreg fic having so much love behind it and R&L not arguing with that... my head is spinning).
