Good evening, cats and kittens! Let's tackle the other half of this request, shall we? (And thank you! It's good to be back!)

I remember liking this track, and being pleasantly surprised that it was a vocal track! The countermelody that sits under the vocals compliments it very well, and the melody itself creates nice extensions on top of the chords. The melody in the vocals follows the relative major scale of the key, while beneath we sit on unstable chords--bouncing back and forth. While the soundfont used frequently in this game is often critiqued (that faux Genesis/Mega Drive synth is not everyone's cup of tea), the way it's mixed down, while the vocals are so clear, is a nice touch. A little musical storytelling--a hero rises amidst the chaos!

Jon Snow,Drogo and birds

Avian imagery in the poem Pale Fire matches Dany’s first love and possibly third and final love Jon snow. The poem begins with, collision of a bird ( waxwing) with the reflected sky on the glass . “Waxwing" refers to the bright red tips of the secondary feathers on the bird’s wings. Drogo is also like the waxwing, a wandering bird. Drogon who is named after him have red scales. Drogo's stallion is sometimes referred to as "the red".

Khal Drogo led them on his great red stallion, with Daenerys beside him on her silver. ( A Game of Thrones - Daenerys VI)

Dany describes herself and her dragon eggs with imagery of glass. Drogo is the waxwing that gets killed inadvertently by Dany. 

She lifted it delicately, expecting that it would be made of some fine porcelain or delicate enamel, or even blown glass, but it was much heavier than that, as if it were all of solid stone. ( A Game of Thrones - Daenerys II) Drogo swung off his horse and lifted her down from hers. She felt as fragile as glass in his hands, her limbs as weak as water. She stood there helpless and trembling in her wedding silks while he secured the horses, and when he turned to look at her, she began to cry.( A Game of Thrones - Daenerys II)

Forgive me, sun of my life, she thought. Forgive me for all I have done and all I must do. I paid the price, my star, but it was too high, too high … ( A Game of Thrones - Daenerys X)

The ending of the poem Pale Fire is linked ( Some kind of link-and-bobolink. )  with the beginning of the poem , through the imagery of butterfly, the "Vanessa with a crimson band" on its wing, that resembles the bright red streak on the wing of the waxwing, in the poem's first line ( Brian Boyd ,1999). Waxwing is mentioned in the first lines of the poem "Pale Fire" as follows:

I was the shadow of the waxwing slain By the false azure in the windowpane; I was the smudge of ashen fluff--and I Lived on, flew on, in the reflected sky.

The poem’s ending mentions the bird Bobolink, lonely sole member of the genus Dolichonyx ( Longclaw) , a word derived from Greek dolichos, long, and onyx, nail or claw.  Longclaw is the Valyrian sword of Jon.

The hilt had been fashioned new for him, adorned with a wolf's-head pommel in pale stone, but the blade itself was Valyrian steel, old and light and deadly sharp. ( A Clash of Kings - Jon II)

One of the dragon heads in Dany’s crown is onyx. Drogo’s eyes are described as onyx.

Tourmaline Brotherhood pressed on her a crown wrought in the shape of a three-headed dragon; the coils were yellow gold, the wings silver, the heads carved from jade, ivory, and onyx. ( A Clash of Kings - Daenerys III)

Dany looked at Khal Drogo. His face was hard and cruel, his eyes as cold and dark as onyx. ( A Game of Thrones - Daenerys I)

She could see fires dancing in the onyx of his eyes . ( A Game of Thrones - Daenerys V)

The bobolink( longclaw), a member of the blackbird family, is a songbird. Jon is called thief when he demands wildling’s possession to meet the expense. This is similar to when moon is called a thief who steals the sun’s light in another part of the poem which alludes to Dany taking over Drogo’s authority.

Now they're yours, you thieving black bastard." ( A Dance with Dragons - Jon XI)

"You are a black-hearted bastard, Lord Crow." Tormund Horn-Blower lifted his own warhorn to his lips. ( A Dance with Dragons - Jon XII)

Bran wishing his brothers & sisters were birds, so they could be together

He wished Robb were with them now. I'd tell him I could fly, but he wouldn't believe, so I'd have to show him. I bet that he could learn to fly too, him and Arya and Sansa, even baby Rickon and Jon Snow. We could all be ravens and live in Maester Luwin's rookery. ( A Dance with Dragons - Bran III)

In Dany's dragon dreams her ancestors are urging her forward to reclaim her Targeryen heritage with pale fire swords in hand.

Ghosts lined the hallway, dressed in the faded raiment of kings. In their hands were swords of pale fire. They had hair of silver and hair of gold and hair of platinum white, and their eyes were opal and amethyst, tourmaline and jade. "Faster," they cried, "faster, faster." She raced, her feet melting the stone wherever they touched. "Faster!" the ghosts cried as one, and she screamed and threw herself forward. A great knife of pain ripped down her back, and she felt her skin tear open and smelled the stench of burning blood and saw the shadow of wings. And Daenerys Targaryen flew.  "… wake the dragon …"( A Game of Thrones - Daenerys IX)

When she is stepping into Drogo's pyre she again sees pale fire.

The flames were so beautiful, the loveliest things she had ever seen, each one a sorcerer robed in yellow and orange and scarlet, swirling long smoky cloaks. She saw crimson firelions and great yellow serpents and unicorns made of pale blue flame; she saw fish and foxes and monsters, wolves and bright birds and flowering trees, each more beautiful than the last. ( A Game of Thrones - Daenerys X)

Viserion is assoiciated with pale fire and Dany sacrificed him to save Jon.

"Viserion," he called. The white one is Viserion...... Pale fires burned behind the shining black daggers of his teeth. His eyes were lakes of molten gold, and smoke rose from his nostrils. ( A Dance with Dragons - The Dragontamer) .....it was the white dragon the sellswords were gawking at....The dragon caught one burning body just as it began to fall, crunching it between his jaws as pale fires ran across his teeth. White wings cracked against the morning air, and the beast began to climb again. ( The Winds of Winter - Tyrion I)

Pale Fire (1962) is a novel by Vladimir Nabokov. The novel is presented as a 999-line poem titled "Pale Fire", written by the fictional John Shade . Jon snow is the 998th LC, after he is killed no replacement was elected.

They tell me that you are the nine-hundred-ninety-eighth man to command the Night's Watch, Lord Snow. What do you think the nine-hundred-ninety-ninth might say about these castles? (A Dance with Dragons - Jon I)

The title of John Shade's poem is from Shakespeare's Timon of Athens:

"The moon's an arrant thief, / And her pale fire she snatches from the sun" (Act IV, scene 3).

The moon is a thief: he steals his silvery light from the sun. ― Vladimir Nabokov, Pale Fire

This allusion is similar to how Dany sacrificed her sun and stars Drogo that led to the birth of her dragons & her gaining Drogo’s Khalasar.

“ Once there were two moons in the sky, but one wandered too close to the sun and cracked from the heat. A thousand thousand dragons poured forth, and drank the fire of the sun. That is why dragons breathe flame. One day the other moon will kiss the sun too, and then it will crack and the dragons will return." ( A Game of Thrones - Daenerys III)

They had been Drogo's people, but they were hers now. The Unburnt, they called her, and Mother of Dragons. Her word was their law. ( A Clash of Kings - Daenerys I)

GRRM was influenced by Robert Frost’s poems while building up certain elements in ASOIAF. 

People say I was influenced by Robert Frost’s poem, and of course I was, I mean... Fire is love, fire is passion, fire is sexual ardor and all of these things..... GRRM

Frost's poem, "Of a Winter Evening"  depicts the near collision of a bird mistaking a glass window for sky, similar to the opening of the poem Pale Fire.

The winter owl banked just in time to pass and save herself from breaking window glass. And her wide wings strained suddenly at spread Caught color from the last evening red in a display of underdown and quill to glassed-in children at the window sill.
