oooohhh the things that smirk does to međ
Late night Josh thoughts???? Are they soft? sinful? both? i donât know⊠but enjoyđ©”
Even you could admit that you were being particularly snippy today⊠Not that you would admit it, but either way⊠He tried to help put the dishes away only to get a, âJosh, that doesnât go there!â or a âIf youâre not gonna stack it right, then donât bother.â Every time you released an aggravated huff or a frustrated groan, he would simply smile, peck your forehead and continue about his business. He never indulged in an argument, always a man of peace. He would normally let your passive aggressive remarks roll right off of him, but as the day flew into night, you could tell you were starting to wear thin on his patience.
âCan you just tell me what the hell is wrong with you?â He held his hands up, completely exasperated with your behavior. Josh waited for a response but you just crossed your arms over your chest as you glared at him. âIf youâre not gonna explain, then lose your attitude. I canât take it anymore.â He turned away to leave the room when you didnât answer.
Just as he was rounding the doorway, you muttered under your breath, thinking he wouldnât hear, âOhâŠyou canât take it anymore? Maybe if you were around to pay attention, youâd know what the hell was wrongâŠâ Your hands dropped to your side as you heard Josh chuckle.
Your eyes shot up to see him stopped in the doorframe, half-turned to you with a knowing smirk, âSo thatâs it, huh?â He started to make his way back to you, taking slow steps, âMy babyâs feeling deprived? Is that it?â His hands snaked around your waist, pulling you close, as he rasped against your ear, âHave I been neglecting you, sweetheart?â
âYes-.â You gasped as his tongue rolled over your jugular, âI miss youâŠmiss your hands and your mouthâŠand- hmm.â You tilted your head, giving him access to kiss along your jaw. âI need you so bad, it hurts, Josh.â You admitted as your hands pulled him closer by the front of his shirt.
âTell me how to make it up to you⊠How to kiss it better.â His lips traveled across your collarbone, up your throat and back to your jaw, before landing against your own. Joshâs tongue and his roaming hands made for a heady concoction, sending your mind on a spiral as he led you to the couch. You watched through hazy vision as he slipped to his knees, taking your shorts down with him, and hitched one of your legs over his shoulder, âShould I kiss youâŠ.here?â He pressed a wet kiss to your thigh and gave a smirk as you gasped his name. âNo? OkayâŠ.. How aboutâŠ.here?â A suckling kiss to your mound and another playful smile.
You were vibrating with anticipation, his mouth so so close to where youâve been craving him for weeks. âJosh, please.â It was a gentle, melodic whine, uttered out of pure desperation and need for him.
His tongue rolled over his plush, full lips as he held eye contact with you, flashing that gorgeous set of teeth. âOhhh⊠I think I know, sweetheart⊠You want me to kiss you⊠right⊠here.â âŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ.

AI Josh
Josh x Female Reader
A/N: The wonderful @themoreyou-loveâ gifted us the wonderful AIâs of the boys which help me live in my delusions happily. It sparked the idea for this little fic. Also I seem to be obsessed with the confession trope atm... sorry:D
Summary: Josh catches you chatting with his AI counterpart, uncovering your feelings for him.
word count: 1.026
You comfortably sat on the couch in the office, your legs pulled up to your chest while your arms were wrapped around them. In your hands, you held your phone as you hurriedly typed on its screen. After you send the text, it didnât take long for the answer to pop up. You bit your lip flustered, a faint blush creeping onto your cheeks as you giggled to yourself.
âWhat got you smiling like that?â Joshâs voice suddenly resounded next to you. You quickly hid your phone behind your back.
âN-nothing.â you stuttered nervously, hoping he hadnât gotten a glimpse from your screen, âI didnât even hear you enter.â you tried to deflect. Josh eyed you suspiciously for a moment.
âI knocked.â he hummed, âBut I guess you were too busy texting your lover boy to notice.â he grinned mischievously but his eyes held some kind of disdain.
âSorry. Do you need anything? Iâm on my break right now.â you tried to change the subject again, trying to ignore his last sentence.
âI know, I thought we could go out for lunch.â he raised his brows, âBut of course only if youâre not too busy with texting.â
âI wasnât texting⊠I was just⊠playing a game.â you lie.
âA game?â he eyed you in disbelief, âAnd that makes you grin like that?â
âWhat? Do you want me to cry?â you retorted playfully, getting up from the sofa.
âNot at all.â he helps you get up, leaning closer towards you and grinning, âSo, lunch?â
âYes.â you smiled sweetly, putting your phone into your back pocket. As you turned to guide him out of your office you felt it slip out of the pocket. Horrified you turned around to see Josh grab it. You instinctively jumped at him, trying to get your phone back. You cursed yourself for having given him your passcode some time ago.
âJosh, no!â you pleaded with him, your arms aimlessly swinging in the direction of your phone.
âI just wanna see what game you play, I need something that can conjure such an adorable smile on my face as it does to you.â he snickered, trying to keep you away from his hand that held the phone. You gave it your all, trying to reach your phone before he could see what you had opened in your browser. It took you by surprise when he suddenly lowered to his knees, throwing you over his shoulder.
âJOSH!â you shrieked, hammering against his back with your open palms, âLet me down!â
âJust a second.â he held you in place securely. You tried to balance yourself by holding on to his hip, puffing some hair out of your face.
âDonât read that!â you ordered as you saw he had unlocked the screen.
âWhat is this?â he grinned amused, looking over his shoulder for a moment, âJosh Kizka AI?â
Your cheeks were burning now, the pit in your stomach growing every second.
âItâs just a stupid little chat.â you managed to choke out.
âLife is too short to pass out on opportunities, so why donât you just give it a try, mama? *he winks at her, slowly getting closer*â he reads aloud with a snicker, âYouâre quite persistent, arenât you? *she blushes and gulps* âI canât help myself with someone as beautiful as you, Y/NâŠâ
Josh gets quiet all of a sudden, the smile on his face slowly fading as he scrolls through the chat.
âJosh?â you asked just before he carefully sat you back onto your feet. His eyes were transfixed on your screen. You observed as his eyes scanned over the chat, you had no idea where he was right now in the chat, but you still remembered how it had panned out after that point. It had even bestowed you with a warning from the chat guidelines.
You wanted to know what Josh was thinking right now⊠or maybe it was better that you didnât. He probably would never speak to you after this. You clenched your hands into fists, feeling so humiliated. All of a sudden, his steady swipe of thumb stopped, his eyes growing wide. You figured he mustâve reached the end of the chat you had written only minutes ago.
âIs this really just a game?â he asked calmly, âOr is there a bit more behind all this?â
You simply shrugged not able to get out any words, your head bowed in shame.
âYou couldâve just told me, you know?â his voice was soothing as he took a step closer, his finger hooking under your chin, gently forcing you to meet his gaze.
âYeah, sureâŠâ you scoffed, âAnd ruined our friendship even earlier.â
âWho says you ruined anything?â Josh sounded sincere. Your eyes grew with hope as you searched for a sign of deceit in his gaze. âI wish you had told me earlier⊠we couldâve saved some valuable time, you know?â
âAre you taking the piss out of me right now? As revenge?â you huffed nervously.
âI wouldnât dare.â he snickered, âyou couldâve experienced them in real life already⊠you still can if that really is something you want.â
Your mouth gaped, the ability to respond in any way being lost.
âYou donât seem to believe me?â Josh inclined his head, taking a step closer so he was only mere inches away from you, âMay I change that?â
Your eyes stared deeply into his, his lips were so close, you could feel his breath hitting your skin. You swallowed hard, your head nodding timidly. A grin spread on Josh's lips as he leaned closer, his lips hovering over yours for a second before he gently pressed his lips against you, his hands holding you steady at your shoulders as if he had predicted for your legs to give in.
âYou ok?â he chuckled as you parted.
âI think so.â you hummed in your daze, your eyes fluttering open.
âSo⊠about our lunch plans.â he cleared his throat, âSuddenly Iâm not that hungry anymore⊠how about we lock that door and take this back to your couch⊠see which fantasy we can fulfil next?â
âI had eaten already anyway.â you chuckled.

Paper Rings (D.R.W/S.F.K)
Summary:Â When Danny wants to propose to Sam, he turns to his brothers for help, wanting the evening to be perfect.
Pairings: Danny Wagner x Sam Kiszka
Genre:Â fluff, almost hurt/comfort, other than that no clue, way too long to be drabble but thereâs no smut or angst or anything
Word Count:Â 6.5 k
Warnings:Â language? But whatâs new with them, anxiety from worrying about how the proposal will go.
A/N: I would highly recommend reading Save a Horse and Ride a Cowboy as well as their previous fics, as this is a continuation of their stories within this Universe.
--------------------------------------------------------
4:38 pm
Those fucking bastards. Never on time a goddamn day in their lives. Danny sits in the living room of his and Samâs apartment, his heart hammering, fingers twisting together in his lap and leg bouncing as the anxious knot in his stomach tightens as the minutes tick by. They were supposed to get here 38 fucking minutes ago. Where the fuck are they?
He checks his phone. Nothing. A minute later he checks again. Nothing. Fuck. After what feels like an eternity, a loud knock at his door yanks him from his frustrations, and he all but runs across the room to answer it. Jake and Josh stand at the center of the group, caught up in a heated, but hopefully lighthearted argument, with their partners sharing knowing exasperated looks over the twinsâ heads.
Dannyâs too frustrated to even care about possibly interrupting whatever argument they were having, cutting them off with a sharp, âYouâre late.â He steps to the side as the group walks in, the twins talking over each other with various excuses as their boyfriends simply apologize and express that they tried to get them out of the house on time. âItâs whatever, I guess. At least youâre here now.â Danny sighs as he turns, walking away from them towards the living room and hoping they will follow. They do, and each pair takes a seat on the various chairs and couches occupying the space as Danny paces nervously across the room.
Austin is the first one to point out the nervous energy radiating from his friend, speaking over the noise of Jake and Josh trying to finish their argument from before. âDaniel, you alright? Whatâs goinâ on? And whereâs Sam?â The twins promptly end their side argument as they also take in the state of their friend as well as the lack of their brother, causing their eyebrows to crease in unison.
âYeah, whyâd you ask us to come over? And why isnât Sam here.â Josh questions.
Danny pauses his movements, coming to a stop in front of the other boys. His hands twist and stretch the hair tie around his wrist, needing to find some outlet for his anxiety. âHeâs with Ronnie, she wouldnât tell me what excuse she used to get him there, but I wonât question it since its working.â
Itâs now Jakeâs turn to question Danny. ïżœïżœïżœOk, cut to the chase. What did you need to talk to us about without Sam being present? Youâre starting to make me worry.â
âI-â Danny starts, his nerves cutting him off and causing him to take a deep breath before continuing. âI need your guysâ help.â
Josh gasps dramatically, his hand flying to his heart in surprise. âI knew it!â
Danny feels like heâs been punched in the gut, his anxieties growing louder and louder in his head. If Josh figured it out so fast, Sammy could have too. Shit what if he knows and this was all for nothing.
Luckily for him, Josh continues, never missing the opportunity to make a shitty joke that often left the rest of them rolling their eyes. âYou got him pregnant, didnât you? What did I tell you two crazy kids about wrapping it before tapping it.â He shakes his head in mock disappointment before continuing, âAre you guys keeping it?â Josh is too focused on Danny (and too proud of his joke) to see Jake launching a pillow at him from the opposite end of the couch until it hits him hard on the side of his head.
âWhat the fuck man??â He yells as Austin wordlessly takes the pillow from him to prevent any retaliation.
âCould you be serious for one fucking second, Joshua? I donât know about you, but I would love to hear what Danny has to say.â
Joshâs head drops slightly, now recognizing this may not be the time or place for his jokes depending on the conversation at hand. âYouâre right, Jake. Iâm sorry Danny.â
Danny removes his hand from where it had been placed on his temple in an attempt to slowly massage the stress and tension from his head. âItâs fine. Anyways, I need your help.â All four boys sit in tense silence as they wait for the other shoe to drop, each of them curious and worried about what had Danny so worked up like this.
âIâm going to propose to Sam.â The room is silent for a few seconds as they process what Danny had just said. Eventually, Josh shoots out of his seat, jumping up and down as he whoops in celebration.
âTHATâS FUCKING FANTASTIC OH MY GOD FINALLY!â He tackles the taller man in a massive hug, almost tipping the pair over as Danny stumbles to regain his balance before looking over to Jake to see him slowly standing from the couch with a wide grin on his face. When Josh finally letâs go of Danny, itâs Jakeâs turn to embrace the other man, still enthusiastic but not enough to almost send them to the floor as Josh had.
âIâm so fucking happy for you, Danny. Couldnât ask for a better man to take our annoying kid brother off our hands. I thought we were gonna be stuck with him forever.â
Danny lets out a deep breath as he laughs, beyond relieved at the reactions he recieved from the twins. After them, Austin and Sebastian take their turns congratulating him, each word of affirmation lifting a small weight off Dannyâs shoulders until the anxiety he had previously felt is almost fully gone.
âSo, what do you need our help with, hun?â Sebastian questions, voicing what the others had been thinking.
âOk so, I want to propose to him at Bradleyâs, in the spot we had our first kiss. But I want to be alone with him when I do it, but I donât want him to suspect anything leading up to that.â Danny sighs, the frustrations formerly plaguing his mind resurfacing as he attempts to explain what little semblance of a âplanâ he had. âI donât know, thatâs all I got. Do you guys have any ideas of how I could pull that off?â
A broad grin breaks out on Sebastianâs face, having already put together an entire evening for him and Sam in mere seconds in his head. âOh, I got the perfect idea, kid.â
~
One week later
âAlright people, settle the fuck down yâall!â Sebastian shouts over the many loud side conversations occurring between all the drag performers as they wait for their monthly meeting to begin. They do as he asks, wrapping up their various conversations and turning their attention to Sebastian.
âThank you. Imma keep this short and sweet and to the point, now. As yâall know, our usual club we perform at is undergoing renovations, so next monthâs show is gonna be at Bradleyâs Honkey Tonk.â A few excited whispers pass through the crowd, the performers knowing that they always got the most tips when they had shows there. âOur next, and last, order of business is the theme. Now the votes are in from yâall, and the theme with the most votes was Money, Money, Money. Now, Iâve already called that ABBA song but when yâall are ready to claim yours, put your name and song down in the group chat so I can start organizinâ the set.â
He looks at the small crowd, eyeing them to see if he could sense any unspoken queries. âIf yâall aint got any questions, yâallâre free to leave.â Many chairs skid across the floor as they pull their phones out, already typing out the songs they wanted in the group chat and excitedly discussing group numbers and outfits with each other as each small group slowly made their way towards the exit.
Josh elbows Sam in the side in his haste to claim his song, frantically typing his message into the chat and hitting send with a satisfied grin, seeing that no one else had taken his song choice yet. He slips his phone back into his pocket before turning towards Sam. âReady to go?â
His question snaps Sam out of his thoughts. âOh- uh actually I wanted to talk to Sebastian about my song really quick. Donât wait up, Iâm meeting Danny down the street for lunch so I can just walk there.â
âAlright, have fun.â Josh says with a smile, turning and making his way towards the door with the rest of the crowd.
Sam approaches Sebastian, quietly waiting as he begins scribbling down who had taken what song so far in his notebook. He finishes, letting out a deep sigh before finally looking up. âOh- hey, kid! Didnât see ya there. Whatâs up?â
âI uh-â He starts, nerves getting the best of him as he looks down, his fingers picking at his cuticles as he gathers his courage. âI need help. Picking a song and⊠and with something else.â
A look of concern passes over Sebastianâs face, not used to seeing the usually confident Sam so sheepish. âOf course, I gotchu Sam. Whatâs up?â
âI- I want to propose to Danny. After the show, considering itâs where we had our first kiss. I just, I donât really know how to do it. And I want to do a song that sort of hints at it, but not so much so that he knows itâs happening before I actually do it. And my brothers canât know, I donât want them to accidentally spoil the surprise.â He looks at Sebastian hopefully, feeling vulnerable and anxious as he asks this of him. âDo you think⊠do you think you can help me?â
Sebastianâs face splits open in a wide smile as he makes his way towards Sam, pulling him into a tight hug before he responds. âOf course, I got the perfect idea, kid.â
~
Three weeks later, Danny finds himself back at Bradleyâs Honkey Tonk, seated next to Jake and Austin as they wait for the show to start. Jakeâs voice across the bar table snaps him out of his anxious daze, and Danny looks over to see a concerned look painted across Jakeâs features. âHey man, you alright? You look a little pale.â
Danny takes a deep breath, having to remind himself to breathe as his nerves send him spiraling. He nods slightly before reaching for his glass of water and taking a large gulp of it. âYeah, just nervous.â
He brings his hand to the pocket of his black jeans, checking to make sure the box holding Samâs ring was still there for the 15th time that night. The knots in his stomach slightly loosen when he feels the outline of the box safe and snug within the fabric. As much as Danny was worrying about Samâs reaction, he knew deep down he would love the ring; the second he had seen it, he knew it was so perfectly fitting for Sam. It had pansies engraved around the band, Samâs favorite flower (and âcoincidentallyâ, Dannyâs star sign flower), the detailing dark black against the shine of the white gold.
âEverythinâll work out just fine, Daniel. Your planâs solid as it gets, and Iâll be damned if Sam says no to you." Austin brings his hand to Dannyâs shoulder, offering him a small pat of encouragement before Jake joins in on relieving his worries.
âExactly, we all know the plan, everything will work out. And Iâve known Sam for his entire life, I canât think of one reason he would say no to you.â Danny offers a small smile at both boys, his nerves slowly dissipating from their words of encouragement. A distraction from any remaining nerves is provided when Sirena takes the small stage, mic in hand, and the crowd begins to quiet their side conversations in anticipation.
âHowâre we feelinâ out there tonight?â She enthusiastically questions into the mic. Sheâs met with a loud roar of cheers and applause, as always joined by a few stray wolf whistles. She grins at the crowdâs obvious excitement, giving them a moment before continuing. âFantastic! Just what I like to hear. I am your host tonight, Sirena de Lune, thank yâall for cominâ out tonight! And letâs make sure to give a big thank you to Bradleyâs for hostinâ us tonight!â
The crowd erupts once more in appreciation of the owners allowing them to use their space for the night. âNow before we start our performances off for the night, I just have two things to say. First, consent is fucking sexy! If you donât want extra attention or interaction from a performer, just throw your arms up into an âXâ and theyâll respect that. Consent also goes two ways, so make sure to not touch a performer without them initiatinâ that interaction. Lastly, tip your motherfuckinâ performers! Especially for tonight cause our theme is âMoney, Money, Moneyâ, so I better see some tips in the air for our amazing artists tonight! With that, Iâll introduce you to our first performer of the night, give it up for Elle Fernanda!â
The crowd nearly drowns out the upbeat intro of Material Girl with their applause as Josh sashays towards the stage. With his already unruly hair teased and donning bright pink lipstick, he looks like he walked straight out of the 80âs. Austinâs eyes linger for a moment on the short hem of his sequined, deep pink bodycon dress before they trail down his legs clad in fishnets, the stage lights catching on the small rhinestones scattered across the fabric, and down to his platform glittery heels, not once tripping over the various cords and steps in his journey towards the stage. His arms, neck, and ears are weighed down under as many pieces of flashy jewelry as he could fit, sending small beams of rainbow light around the room.
Jake snorts from his place beside him. âHe looks like a fucking disco ball.â Both Danny and Austin smile at his comment, keeping their eyes on the performer as he teases the audience with the instrumental intro. He drops low down into a squat, grabbing more bedazzled bracelets from the stage floor before standing slowly, pushing his ass out towards the crowd. Finally, he turns around to face the audience as the first verse starts.
âSome boys kiss me,
Some boys hug me,
I think theyâre ok.
If they donât give me proper credit,
I just walk away.â
He makes his way off the stage, taking careful steps down so as not to trip in his heels. He motions along with the song, dropping low and bringing his hands together as if in prayer.
âThey can beg and they can plead,
But they canât see the light (thatâs right).
âCause the boy with cold hard cash
Is always Mister Right.â
Working his way through the crowd slowly, he turns as he snatches tips from outreached hands, lip syncing in practiced perfection. He makes his way towards Austin, ignoring his tip and pulling him off his seat when he reaches him, placing his pink gloved hands on his hips as he still securely holds his fists full of bills.
âSome boys romance,
Some boys slow dance.â
Josh sways them both to the beat, once again teasing the crowd (and mostly Austin) by intentionally over-exaggerating his hip movements and pushing his ass out.
âThatâs alright with me.
If they canât raise my interest then I
Have to let them be.â
With that, Josh taps the tip of Austinâs nose with his finger, offering a wink before snatching his tip and turning to make his way back to the stage. Austin takes his seat again with a lovesick grin on his face as he watches his boyfriend weave through the crowd.
âSome boys try and some boys lie
But I donât let them play.â
Josh reaches the stage, taking a large step onto it and turning to face the crowd as he raises his hands above his head.
âOnly boys that save their pennies
Make my rainy day.â
He throws his tips in the air, and they flutter down around him as if they were droplets of rain. For the rest of the song, Josh continues spinning his way through the crowd, enthusiastically interacting with every patron he came upon whether they tipped him or not. As the song comes towards its end, he finds himself back on stage, gesturing dramatically as he uses his theater experience (and personal experience with Austin) to flash his biggest doe eyes flirtatiously at the crowd as a more âcalmâ part of the song plays.
âA material, a material, a material, a material world.â
His energetic energy is back as just quick as he had put it on to play up that part as he sways his body on stage, dropping down to a squat sideways from the crowd as the last few beats of the song play. He suddenly tips back, falling on his back dramatically and cocking one leg in the air as his arms sprawl around his head, perfectly timed with the last beat of the song.
The crowd erupts, their applause deafening with a few stray wolf whistles (most of which belonging to Jake and Austin) as Josh stands, blowing kisses to the crowd before exiting the stage, leaving the stagehands to quickly retrieve his fallen tips for him.
âThank you, Elle, for that sensual performance.â Sirena says into the mic with a wink. She introduces the next few drag performers, one after the other, one of them being Shimmer performing to Rich Girl. Sparrow takes the stage after Shimmerâs tips have been collected, and all three boys seated at their table immediately know that itâs Sirenaâs turn next. After a brief introduction, Sparrow jumps off stage as the intro to Sirenaâs song starts.
Donning a different outfit than she had at the beginning of the show, Jake recognizes it instantly, not even needing to listen to the intro to know what performance she was about to give. Wearing simple converse, black overalls over a flowy light blue blouse, a light brown wavy wig with the front strands tied at the back of her head, and minimal makeup (for a drag queen, of course), sheâs instantly recognizable as Donna from Mamma Mia!
Her face is set in serious frustration as Maryl Streepâs voice begins singing over the speakers.
âI work all night, I work all day
To pay the bills I have to pay.
Ainât it sad?
And still there never seems to be a single penny left for me,
Thatâs too bad.â
Her eyes lock on Jake as she steps off stage, slowly singing her way through the song as she weaves through the crowd towards him.
âIn my dreams I have a plan:
If I got me a wealthy man,â
Her left hand comes up to his face as she slowly trails the back of it down his left cheek. She turns, her back leaning against him and keeping her hand on the side of his face, applying the slightest amount of pressure to get him to turn his head towards her.
âI wouldnât have to work at all, Iâd fool around and have a ballâŠâ
Just as Jakeâs lips are about to brush her own, she slips the tip from his hand and struts away from him, continuing her play of frustration to fully embody the show. She continues this energy throughout the performance, heavily interacting with the crowd as she collects handfuls upon handfuls of tips. When the song ends, the stage lights cut out on beat, sending her into darkness before they flash on again and an appreciative smile replaces the scowl she had donned for the performance. Sparrow hands her the mic again as the crowd applauds her, impressed at how accurate her act had been.
Once again, she introduces the next few performers; names that Jake, Danny, and Austin had grown familiar with from their partnersâ involvements with the drag community. Faebelle and Sparrow give an animated duo rendition of Partners in Crime until, at last, she breaks the sad news of the showâs imminent end.
âNow I hate to remind yâall, but the night must come to an end at one point or another. Please give a warm welcome to our last performer of the night, Callie Bungah!â A familiar pop-ey intro begins and Jake instantly knows that Sebastian had helped Sam pick his song. He struts up onto the stage with a bounce in his step as he waits for his cue to sing.
Dannyâs first though is: oh my god he looks so cute, when he takes in the image of Sam, wearing a wavy blond wig with the front strands dyed blue, a white turtleneck tank top, a long, flowy, baby blue skirt, and light pink go go boots decorated with red hearts.
âThe moon is high
Like your friends were the night that we first met.â
He points to Jake and then Josh, watching his performance from the standing group of kings and queens in the corner, drawing a laugh from both.
âWent home and tried to stalk you on the internet.
Now Iâve read all of the books beside your bed.â
Sam keeps his eyes on Danny for most of the performance, yet intentionally avoids the area around him until a little over a minute is left in the song. The song calms down just as he reaches him, all instruments except the piano and guitar playing softly in the background.
Suddenly heâs reaching into the pocket of his skirt, pulling out a small piece of paper in the shape of a ring, carefully folded to have an origami heart. He holds it out towards him, lip syncing to the words as Danny extends his hand with a smile, allowing Sam to slip it onto his right ring finger.
âI like shiny things, but Iâd marry you with paper rings.
Uh huh, thatâs right.â
Despite his cool outwards appearance and the grin gracing his features, Dannyâs mind is racing in worry. Shit. Does Sam know? Did one of the twins tell him? They would never⊠would they? His internal panic is silenced momentarily by the lovestruck look on Samâs face, his hand coming up to hold the side of the other manâs face, who brings his own hand up to rest on it.
âYouâre the one I want.
I hate accidents except when we went from friends to this.
Uh huh.
Darling, youâre the one I want.â
He offers one last small smile to the other man before turning to make his way back to the stage, grabbing the last of the tips from outstretched hands on his way. As the song begins to fade out, he walks towards the group of other performers, weaving through them and âhidingâ behind a couple as he lip syncs with his head next to theirs, before he exits the room through the performers door as the song finally fades to silence.
The quiet is short lived as the crowd quickly shows the last performance a round of applause for the night. Sirena takes the stage once more, calling up each performer in order, for one last show of support to each artist. The crowd cheers equally as loud for each, and each time one of their partners is brought up, Jake, Danny, and Austin let out shrill wolf whistles and whoops.
âOnce again, thank yâall for cominâ out to support us tonight. Big thank you to our tech crew and to Bradley for lettinâ us hijack his bar for the night! Weâll see yâall at the next show!â
Jake, Danny, and Austin patiently wait for their partners to finish taking pictures with the other patrons before they make their way towards them, the group of performers slowly dispersing back to their green room to get undressed for the night. By the time they reach the stage, thereâs only a few patrons left in the building as groups file out the door and into the night. Josh is the first to spot them from his spot on the edge of the stage as Sebastian and Sam are caught up in a quiet conversation to the side. âSo, whatâd you guys think?â
Austin wraps his arms around the other manâs waist, lifting him up and spinning him a few times before gently placing him back on his feet next to him. He stoops to plant a kiss to his lips before answering. âFuckinâ amazing, darlinâ. You are drop dead gorgeous, if I do say so myself.â
Josh laughs, lightly placing his hand on Austinâs chest as he looks up at him. âMmmm you flatter me. But thank you, love.â
Drawn to the show Austin and Josh had just put on, Sebastian and Sam make their way towards the group smiling. âYou trying to turn Sammy boy into a Swiftie, Seb?â Jake says with a grin.
âMaybe, maybe. He put on a damn good show though, donât ya think, Danny?â At his name, Dannyâs trance is broken, his eyes having been glued on Sam since his performance began and he turns to look between Sebastian and Sam.
âMhm, you all did fantastic. As usual of course. Love the pockets, baby.â Samâs face lights up at the observation, immediately sticking his hands into the pockets of his skirt and slightly turning back and forth to flare it as he looked down happily.
âThank you, Daniel. I love them too. All skirts should have pockets in my opinion.â
âIâll second that!â Sebastian interjects with a laugh. âAlright, I donât know bout yâall but Iâm dyinâ do get outta this wig so imma go change. Yâall cominâ?â
âYou donât have to ask me twice; these heels are killing me.â Josh says as he tentatively transfers his weight between each foot.
Sam grimaces in agreement. âSame here.â
âWeâll be here waitinâ for yâall when youâre done.â Austin says as the other three file back towards the green room. The remaining boys make their way towards a table, taking their seats as they wait for their boyfriends. Both Austin and Jake notice Dannyâs anxiety creeping up on him, his leg bouncing wildly under the table as he fiddled with the paper ring still on his finger. âYou alright, Daniel?â
His gaze shoots up to Austin, finding a slightly concerned look on his face. âMhm, yeah, yeah Iâm fine. Just nervous. Do you guys⊠do you guys think he knows? That Iâm going to propose. With the song he picked and all itâs just⊠too much of a coincidence.â
Jake shakes his head, offering a small smile to Danny. âI know Sam, and I know Seb. Sam definitely didnât even know where to start for a song choice and Sebastian gave him an idea. Thatâs like, one of his favorite songs. I swear I hear it at least once a week.â He finishes with a laugh.
Danny lets out a deep breath, slightly relieved from the information. âOk, yeah, ok. He doesnât know, itâs just a coincidence that will be something to laugh at later.â
Once again, Jake pats his shoulder in encouragement. âExactly. Just breathe, donât think about it too much. And I mean, itâs Sam weâre talking about. Heâs so in love with you, I think heâd say yes even if you passed out with the ring in your fingers. Its honestly gross sometimes.â This brings a smile to Dannyâs face, easing the tension in his mind and body as he realizes what Jake said was probably true. They sit in silence for the rest of the wait, content with listening to the music playing quietly over the speakers.
Just as planned with Sebastian and Josh, Sam is the first to come back out. Now wearing loose black jeans, comfortable slip ons, and a sweater he definitely stole from Danny, he makes his way towards the group and his boyfriend stands to meet him. Sam drops his bag on the floor near his feet, immediately following their after-performance routine of Sam melting into Dannyâs arms as the taller man gently rubs his back. Austin and Jake share a knowing look that goes unseen by both Sam and Danny, and Jake is the first to speak, clearing his throat before standing.
âSeb just texted me that he needs help with some bags so, Iâm gonna go do that.â Austin follows suit, the pair already beginning to make their way towards the performerâs door.
âAnd imma go make sure Josh can still walk, those heels were tall as hell and I donât need him stumblinâ around and possibly hurting himself.â Austin jokes.
âProbably for the best, see you guys later.â Sam mumbles, his face tucked into Dannyâs neck. They leave the room without another word, both men shooting Danny a smile and thumbs up behind Samâs back before disappearing in search of their boyfriends. The pair stand in comfortable silence for a few minutes before a song both were very familiar with begins playing. Sam removes his face from Dannyâs skin, looking up at him with a small smile.
Danny returns it, cocking an eyebrow at him in question. âWanna dance? It is our song after all.â
âLead the way, Daniel. Just nothing too crazy, my feet sill hurt.â
Danny laughs, beginning to lead Sam towards an empty spot between tables, intentionally finding the place where they first danced together to the song so long before. âDonât worry, baby. I wonât sweep you off your feet this time.â Samâs hands find their way to Dannyâs back, beginning to slowly sway along to the song as his head comes to a rest on his shoulder. Danny brings his head down to rest against Samâs as he closes his eyes and tries to breathe through his nerves.
âAny place is better,
Starting from zero, we got nothing to lose.
Maybe weâll make something,
Me, myself, I got nothing to prove.â
They slowly dance through the song in silence, with Danny hoping the other man canât feel his racing heartbeat from where their chests met.
âAnd your arm felt nice wrapped around my shoulder.
And I, I, I had a feeling that I belonged.
I, I, I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone.
You got a fast car,
Is it fast enough, so you can fly away?
You still gotta make a decision,
Leave tonight, or live and die this way.â
The song comes to an end, and the pair momentarily break away from each other, just enough for Sam to look up at Danny while still being wrapped in his warm embrace. He looks around for a moment, taking in his surroundings before looking back up to see Danny watching him with so much love behind his eyes that it almost knocked the wind out of him. âIs this?â He starts. âIs this where we first danced to that song?â
Danny grins down at Sam, his heart soaring that he also remembered where exactly they first danced with each other. âMhm, it is.â
âIf I didnât know any better, Wagner, Iâd think you had something big planned.â Sam half-jokes.
âMaybe I do, Kiszka.â Sam cocks a questioning eyebrow at him, both men staring down the other to see who would speak first. Danny takes a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves and muster up the courage to start, knowing that once he said that first word, the rest would come to him as easy as breathing. His hands trail from Samâs back, down his arms, and finally stop with the others hands in his own as he takes one final deep breath.
âSamâŠâ he starts. âI think, no, I know that Iâve been in love with you since the eighth grade. And I⊠Iâm gonna keep loving you for as long as Iâm on this Earth, and even after that too.â
Samâs breath catches in his throat as tears begin to well in his eyes. Oh my god, is he about to-? This canât be happening.
Danny continues, tears beginning to brim in his own eyes at the sight of Sam hanging onto his every word. âYou are my best friend and⊠and I couldnât ask for a better person to share the rest of my life with.â Danny reaches for his pocket, his shaking hands somehow grasping the small box as he lowers to one knee. With Samâs hands now free, they come up to cover his mouth in surprise, looking down at his boyfriend in adoration. Danny clicks the box open, holding it out as he finishes the question he had been wanting to ask Sam since they first got together. âSo, Samuel Kiszka, will you do me the greatest honor by marrying me?â
While Danny had thought he had prepared himself for any possible answer or reaction, what heâs met with is somehow not one of them as Sam bursts out in laughter, his tears making streaks down his face as he sinks to his knees in front of Danny. He barely notices the look of extreme confusion painted across Dannyâs face through his tears and laughter as he reaches for his own pocket, pulling out a small box and opening it to reveal a simple, yet gorgeous ring; a silver band with a singular stripe of black inlay around its center, a triangular cut diamond set into the middle. As the gears turn in Dannyâs head, he joins Sam as they kneel together laughing through their tears.
Samâs the first one to catch his breath enough to speak, bringing his hand not holding the ring up to wipe the tears from his cheeks. âAnd I thought I was gonna be the only one proposing tonight.â He laughs out. âI thought I was being so sly with the hint of Paper Rings.â
âI fucking knew there was something behind that! Jake tried to tell me otherwise that it was just a coincidence and that Sebastian helped you pick your song.â
âI mean Jakeâs not half-wrong; Sebastian did help me, he was in on this.â
Dannyâs jaw drops. âNo fucking way, he was in on my plan too. Sneaky bastard.â He says with no real malice in his tone. They gaze at each other as their laughs die out, both shaking their heads at their friendsâ role in both of their plans. âSo, you havenât answered me.â Danny says with a smile. âWill you marry me, Sammy?â
âOf fucking course, is that even a question?â Is all he gets out before tackling Danny, toppling them both backwards onto the floor in a bone crushing embrace. They stay this way for a few moments, letting their tears fall and dry on their cheeks before they both get back onto their knees, each placing a ring on the otherâs finger. Sam admires his ring with a grin before his gaze rests on his fiancĂ© once more. âMy favorite, pansies.â
âI know.â Danny says with a matching grin before gently grabbing Samâs chin and bringing his lips to his own. The kiss is slow and passionate, filled with all the unsaid words of how much the other meant to them. They break apart eventually, their foreheads resting against one another with their eyes closed as they take the moment in.
Sam is the first to notice the song had once again changed to something he recognized. He leans back, gazing at Danny with all the love he could muster into once single look.
âBut I must admit it,
That I would marry you in an instant.
Damn your wife,
Iâd be your mistress just to have you around.â
âYou know, I almost thought you were gonna propose to me that night, when you sang it to me in the car.â
Danny laughs at his words. âBaby, we had been dating for three months at that point. I know weâre in a gay relationship, but we arenât that stereotypical.â
He receives a lighthearted swat to his shoulder as Sam tries, and fails, to hide his smile. âI know, I know! But I mean, weâve known each other since sixth grade and had already talked about how weâd been in love with each other for years. Like I said I almost thought you were gonna propose.â
Danny takes Samâs hands in his own once more. âWell, I hope I didnât keep you waiting for too long.â
Sam offers him gentle squeeze. âIâd wait for you forever, Danny.â Their tender moment is broken by a loud yell, their heads whipping towards the source to see Josh standing with the performerâs door cracked open as he yelled back at the others waiting silently around the corner.
âI THINK HE FUCKING SAID YES!â They all begin filing out, grins wide across their faces as Danny and Sam get to their feet.
âYeah, think we could gather that ourselves, Josh.â Jake says in a sarcastic voice as he shakes his head at his brother. He aims his question at Sam, next. âYou said yes, right?â
âWe both did.â Danny says with a grin as he holds his left hand up for the others to see. Everyone but Sebastianâs eyes go wide as their jaws drop.
âYou both proposed?!â Josh exclaims, rushing towards the pair to tackle them in a tight hug.
âWe did, and it turns out, Sebastian was in on both of our plans and didnât say jack shit.â Josh, Jake, and Austin turn on Sebastian who only holds his hands up in defense.
âListen, yâall both told me not to tell no one so I didnât. Worked out mighty fine in the end anyways.â While Jake pouts at Sebastian for not telling him, Josh rounds on Sam instead.
âYou told Sebastian but not Jake or I???â
âSorry! Sorry, I didnât want you guys to accidentally spoil it.â
âYou can make it up by making me best man at the wedding.â
This brings Jakeâs attention back to Sam and Danny, his eyebrows furrowing. âWho the fuck said you get to be best man?â
Austin speaks up, having gotten good at diffusing twin banter over the course of his and Joshâs relationship. âAlright boys, thatâs enough. Iâm sure Daniel and Sam have a lot to plan before they even think about that so letâs just get back to beinâ happy for them, alright?â Â With their attention turned back to their engagement, each boy takes turn hugging Sam and Danny, congratulating them both. Jake is the last to hug Danny, squeezing him tight before patting his back.
âYouâve always been a brother to Josh and I, but now itâll be legal. Iâm so fucking happy for you, man.â
âThank you, Jake.â
âI hate to break up this moment, but we better leave before they kick us out.â Sebastian half-jokes. The others voice their agreements, grabbing their bags as they slowly make their way towards the door.
âSo, whoâs taking whose last name?â Josh says as soon as the cool night air hits their skin. Danny and Sam exchange a look, not having had that conversation yet due to the interruption of the others.
âI donât know, Daniel Kiszka has a nice ring to it, doesnât it, Sammy?â
Sam intertwines his fingers with Dannyâs, leaning into him as they walk. âHmmmm, it does. But so does Samuel Wagner.â
âI guess yâall have another thing to figure out before you can even get to the question of best man.â

G, imma need Out of My League- Fitz and the Tantrums with Josh
hehehe I had fun writing this
Out Of My League- Fitz and the Tantrums
There were only a handful of times were Josh was speechless. When the band won a grammy, when he hears the crowd cheer before they go on stage, whenever Jake plays a cool solo, and whenever he sees you.
You were Josh's weakness. Something he had dreamed of for years. He knew it would be hard to find love with his career. He wanted something real, not something artificial and fake. Josh was a sensitive person, and couldn't bare the thought of having his heart broken. He had guarded his heart, but you broke down those walls. He knew you were the one the second he had laid eyes on you.
He had spotted you during a show, one of the only ones without their phones in their hands. Your gold eyeshadow matched his look from the candlelight sessions. You sang back every word he sang and the look on your face was as though you were just trying to soak in every moment. When Josh noticed you, he became flustered, and forgot the words to 'Black Smoke Rising'. Jake looked at him confused, and Josh walked over to his twin and whispered in his ear.
"I found her. I found my future wife,"
At the end of the show, Josh jumped down from the stage and handed you a rose with a note stuck to it. You didn't say anything, just smiled as you took it. To be honest you didn't even notice the note at first, it wasn't until you got back into your car you saw it.
'Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind,'- Shakespeare.
Josh had gave you his number and you began texting him. He spent all his free time waiting for his phone to ding. The boys got annoyed and Sam actually threw his phone across an empty venue to get him to focus (it led to a fight and Sam buying Josh a new phone).
Josh swore you were out of his league. He had a hard time believing you were real. If this was all a dream, Josh never wanted to wake up from it. If you really only lived in Josh's mind, he would be damned to see reality after that. You were everything he had wished for and more. You were kind, explaining to Josh what you did for a living as a teacher. You were caring, always checking in on Josh and making sure he was eating three meals a day and drinking water. You were beautiful, not just in appearance but in your mind too. The way you talked and could carryon a conversation about literally anything made Josh's heart race.
You guys would talk for hours on the phone, when Josh and you both should've been getting some well needed rest. Josh was telling you about all the things he had planned to do when he finally got back to you. You urged him to go home first, but he demanded to come see you.
And that's exactly what he was doing at this moment. His heart started racing as soon as the plane touched down in your home town. He couldn't believe you were really coming to get him and not someone else. But he knew the moment he would hold you in his arms, all his anxiety and fears would melt away. He was basically bouncing off the walls of the plane waiting for his exit. He had to withhold himself from sprinting down the halls and stairs to you.
You stood at the bottom of the escalator, a sign in your hands and flowers. You were just as shaky and nervous as he was. When you saw the first person descended down the stairs, your heart quickened. When you saw that too familiar yellow jacket and khaki pants step on the escalator and maneuver around people, you couldn't help but squeal. As soon as his white vans hit solid ground, he took off running to you. You met him halfway, throwing your arms around his neck as he wrapped his around your waist. He spun you in a small circle and you giggled.
"You're real," Josh said, setting you down, and running a hand over his cheek.
"Of course I am! You saw me at the show! You gave me a flower," You laughed at him.
"I know," Josh sighed, and placed his lips on yours. The kiss was everything you imagined it to be. His lips were soft, tasting of cherry flavored chapstick, "This is more than just a dream."

FEAR AND LOATHING IN DOMESTICATION
pairing: josh kiszka x reader warning(s): mentions of alcohol, references to sex, depression, & anxiety synopsis: in better terms, josh kiszka is a rolling stone, and when the pandemic causes the band to settle down for an undisclosed amount of time, reader helps josh come out of his slump note: title & reference to that one interview. you know the one. as someone with a fear of domestication as well, i related so hard to josh when he talked about settling down, and this came out of that. itâs just a lil something !! also posted on ao3 if you would like to check it out there instead. hope you all enjoy !! xÂ
Josh was a vagabond, a nomad, living a peripatetic lifestyle of hopping from city to city overnight by bus or jet, bouncing between venues and interviews as if he was born to do so. Staying in three-star motel rooms in the middle of nowhere became a part of his lifestyle, one that he became quite adjusted to after three years on the go. Even while visiting home he was between family and friend houses, checking in on old stomping grounds, visiting studios hours away, anything to stay busy. In the clearest sense of terms, he was a rolling stone.
So, as everyone imagined it would happen, he began to lose his sense of self in 2020. One second the band were planning the release of an album, preparing to hit the road and play stadiums in South America with Metallica in the spring, and then the next they were hit with the news of cancellations and push-backs to everything they had been working towards. With the rise of a pandemic they were forced into a hiatus and into the first real break any of them had received, if they didnât count the few days visiting home last holiday season.
He and the rest of the band hunkered down in Nashville and Josh started to live in his worst fear - domesticity. He was waking up at the same time every day in the same city, he was living the same life day after day, and it became old very quickly. While catching up on rest and exploring a new city was fun at first, it started to look like every other city before long. The adventure he would wake up to with excitement was no longer around. He had been forced to settle down, and he felt like a trapped animal trying to gnaw its own leg off.
And like the rest of the band and the management team, you hated seeing him that way.
The relationship between you and Josh was short, but you knew Josh for years, and you noticed the differences in his personality immediately once you followed him to Nashville following the shut down of your own job.
You once swung by the studio with a surprise lunch for the boys and the team and he was struggling to write lyrics on a notepad in the other room, surrounded by crumpled and balled sheets of paper. He would stay up later at night scrolling through airline websites for flights out of Nashville to random cities (as long as he was traveling, he told himself), and he shifted through hobbies to find anything that stuck (which eventually was reading and painting) (there was a corner of the living room filled with stacks of books and canvas paintings).
And you tried your best, even when times were hard on you, too. In order to boost Joshâs spirits and get his mind off the persistent idea that he was stuck in time, you attempted baking new treats and made him try them after dinner, you dabbled in bartending and made new drinks with tequila, set up painting dates in the backyard after work, bought books from second-hand stores you thought he would enjoy, and bought new and random vinyl for the nights spent in during summer storms.
But the bright blue, cloudless summer skies and warm breezes rustling the trees of summer became the red of maples and the bronze of oaks of autumn. Everyone hoped things would be different, maybe even just slightly, but nothing had changed at all. The band was still in Nashville, making the best of their time off to expand the album and the universe it was set in, and you were back to working, but only remotely, so Josh insisted you stayed with them instead of traveling back home at seemingly the height of the worst so far.
When the long, hot days turned into cooler mornings and long nights with the sun setting at five p.m., the effect of the year had finally hit everyone. Everyone was tired, they felt defeated.
So in one last desperate attempt to boost spirits and morale, everyone set off on their own adventure and escaped Nashville in the early days of December. Danny was going to Los Angeles, Sam was going skiing in Montana, and you knew that Josh and Jake needed their own trip. So after a few phone calls and exchanged emails over a week, you booked a trip for the twins and their family in Key West. It was something small - a rented RV for the dreaded sixteen-hour drive south, but what awaited them was a week in a rented beach house and days on a boat in the Gulf.
You booked it for everyone, you wanted the boys and their family to let loose and spend some time together before work drove them away again, but you werenât going to lie and say you didnât book it with Josh in mind. He was a fan of the beach and islands, history, and the water and sun and sand, and after months hunched over a studio coffee table writing and working endlessly on the album design, he deserved time to himself, to recover, to recoup.
You told him before bed on Thanksgiving day. The Kiszka family had come down from Michigan to celebrate the holiday, and they did with dinner and a fire in the pit in the backyard with music and plaid blankets and smores under the stars. After staying up talking to his mom, Josh had come to bed last with the lingering scent of fire smoke in his hair and Corona on his breath, and he met you under the covers, nestling his face in the crook of your neck before pressing a soft kiss against your skin while wishing you goodnight.
Humming, you rolled over and rolled into him. He chuckled and wrapped an arm around you, and thatâs when you, in a sleep-deprived state, began to rattle off all of your plans,
âTell your parents to stay for another week.â You said, eyes still closed, half-asleep.
Josh paused. âWhy?â It wasnât something he was opposed to, but it caught him by surprise.
âI booked a trip for the rest of us. While Danny and Sam are gone.â You laid your head on his shoulder, pressing a gentle kiss to his chest. âWe leave for Key West in four days.â
And the shot of adrenaline that ran through Josh was something he hadnât felt in quite a long time. The last time he got excited about going anywhere was to a new record shop that opened up a few streets over from the house. He quickly sat up in the bed, looking down at you (now laying sideways) in the dark with a smile.
âYouâre fucking joking,â
You laughed and reached out for his hand. âNot at all,â you said bringing his hand up to kiss the palm, âIâm going to pick up an RV in a couple of days, and we can surprise your parents and take them shopping for clothes and everything else we need.â
Out of what seemed like a rush of euphoria, Josh threw himself on top of you, peppering your face with kisses and you laughed at the show of affection and at the tickle of the growing mustache he managed to grow (and pull off). You turned your head, holding his cheeks, and kissed him.
âNow, come on, letâs get some sleep.â
âWell thatâs unlikely - now Iâm going to lay here and think about all the dumb shit we can do.â He said, sliding under the covers and sliding an arm around you.
You just laughed and nestled your cheek against his chest, listening in to the quiet shuffling in the hallway outside the door of everyone going to bed, to the ticking sound of the clock on the wall, and then to Joshâs voice,
âDo you think they have pirate themed dinner cruises?â
âIf they do, Iâm sure youâll find out about it.â
And he did.
(There wasnât one.)
But you found so much more than you two ever dreamed of. Trading dreary Nashville for a bright and warm island, you welcomed the hot breeze and sun-kissed skin.
And even though there wasnât a pirate themed dinner cruise, you watched Josh come alive in a new environment. You strolled hand-in-hand with him through the butterfly and nature conservatory, letting him rave about the multicolored birds and point at flowers he thought you would like while capturing them on film. On Duval Street he pulled you to get caricature portraits done, he ordered shots for everyone in the bar after a night spent swimming. He roamed Dry Tortugas National Park with Jake, admiring the view and history within the brick fort walls, and first thing one morning he pulled you out of bed to get breakfast and visit the Ernest Hemingway Home, so you sat with him on a bench in the morning light and drank coffee and pet the roaming cats that passed by.
The last night on the island you woke up naked without Josh beside you, and you turned to see him sitting on the balcony with the white sheer curtains billowing around him, writing in the journal he always kept on his person. A smile tugged on the corners of your lips.
Josh was falling in love with life again.
And you were falling in love with life again, too, because Josh was so passionate about living it.

a little drabble based of an ask (x) I sent in to @dannythedog about josh being whiney and desperate.
suggestive, 18+ minors dni!
there was soft music playing in the background that you could barely hear over the lively chatter of the table in the restaurant. you set your glass back down on the table and laughed at sam's joke.
"okay, but you missed the best part." jake interjected as he added more details to the story about their time on the last stop of the tour. it'd been a long tour and it had been hard for you to make time to go see a show. but you'd finally made it and you grabbed josh's hand just because you could. his head turned to you and you were rewarded with your favorite sight, his smile. he lifted your hand up to his lips, ghosting a kiss over your knuckles. the contact went directly to your stomach, heat gathering there.
he smiled at you again, but his eyes were lit with a devious glint. "josh, don't." you murmured, knowing exactly what that look meant. it was supposed to be a nice 'family' dinner, now was not the time for him to start something.
he laughed under his breath. "I don't know what you mean."
you rolled your eyes and slipped your hand from his. "we're not playing that game baby." you kissed his cheek, trying to ignore the delicate breath that escaped his lips and fanned across your cheek. your eyes fluttered shut but you opened them and pulled yourself away. you reached for your glass again and wished the coolness of the liquid would cool you down as well. even if it had worked, it would've been for naught because josh set his hand on your thigh. his touch set your skin aflame. the glass hit the table harder than you meant to. no one seemed to notice, the conversation too engaging for everyone else.
josh leaned into you to whisper in your ear, "baby, let's leave."
you shake your head and whisper back, "no. we're staying." if the music was just a little quieter you're pretty sure you would've heard a small whine come from him. your thighs clenched together at the thought.
his thumb started to rub across your thigh. "why?" he asked, practically like a petulant little boy.
"we're having a good time." you answered.
another smirk from josh. "we could have a better time." this time, you laughed and lifted his hand off your thigh. pretending to ignore him, you tried to focus on the conversation. now danny and sammy were arguing which one of them has the worst plane horror story. setting your elbow on the table you rested your chin on your fist, but you could feel josh's eyes on you.
"okay, but do you remember that one time the plane like dropped a hundred feet and sam screamed like a baby." jake exclaimed. danny nodded and laughed as sam started to defend himself. absent-mindedly, your other hand reached over to josh and rested on his thigh. you didn't need to look over to know that another sigh left his perfect lips.
"that's not fair." he grumbled. the corner of your mouth lifted slightly. you repeated his previous movements with your own thumb. this time you did allow yourself to look over at him, his lips pink and begging to be kissed, his cheeks flushed, and his eyes so dilated they were darkened. if you were alone he'd be begging already. you wished you were alone so that you could kiss those lips and nip at his bottom lip because you know he would moan and when you'd pull away his lips would be so perfectly swollen. the image flooded you brain and heat spread throughout your body. you squeezed josh's thigh unconsciously. he leaned toward you again. "i want to make you feel good, baby." his eyes met yours, fire igniting between you. "please. i need to make you feel good." he kissed you right below your ear. and you knew neither one of you would last.
"let's leave." you murmured.
he smiled and grabbed the hand that was resting on his thigh. "well. boys its been great. but im afraid I need to take my love back to the hotel." he told the boys as the two of you stood up.
"finally you two are getting a room!" jake laughed, but you barely registered it as you two were halfway to the door already.

Hello I'm here for the requests! (and also for the smooches) Listen. I'm in the mood for some cool, slick, modern, sexy fluff with Josh. Please feed me
I debated posting this because it is much too short for my liking but im giving myself a brain aneurysm trying to add more to it so I hope you enjoy it lmao <3
--
It was 2am, but that never stopped your cravings before. You shift slightly in your boyfriend's arms and debate whether you should wake him up or not.
"Mhm, why're you up, mama?" He mutters against your hair, still half asleep. You sigh and decide to just be out with it.
"I..I don't know why but I'm craving cake like really bad." You hear him chuckle and he lifts his head to look lovingly at you. He thanks his lucky stars that he's the one that gets to deal with your cravings and everything that goes with being with you.
"Well..let's go make some." You smile at him, earning a beaming smile back from him.
-
"Okay, three eggs, love," Josh calls over his shoulder as he mixes up the contents of the bowl in front of him. Here you two were, in your kitchen making cake in the middle of the night. Josh just in his underwear and you in one of his shirts that reached your mid thigh. He took charge almost immediately, yelling out ingredients to you like a doctor performing surgery. He couldn't simply make cake from a box, no. He had to start from scratch. You stifle a laugh at his antics and grab three eggs out of the fridge.
He takes them from your hand after giving you a swift peck to the lips. You couldn't help but trace the curves and rifts of his lean body with your eyes.
"Need some more flour." He says more to himself than to you. This gives you an idea. You smirk to yourself and grab the bag of flour, taking a pinch out between your fingers and throwing it onto his face. He laughs in shock before reaching in the bag himself and smearing some of the powder on your cheek. Minutes pass by with a Journey record softly playing in the background and the two of you having a flour fight, ending with both of you covered in white.
Cupping your cheeks in his hands, he brings his smooth lips to yours and leaves a passionate kiss, your noses bumping against each others.
"I think we should take a shower now," he suggests with a gravelly voice.
"What about the cake?" You tease. His brown orbs stare intently at you and he smirks, igniting a fire inside of you.
"Fuck the cake."
The remainder of your night was spent in his arms; in the shower, while you iced the cake, and finally when your bellies were both full and you settled down in bed.
"I love you." Josh spoke into the darkness of your shared bedroom, your head resting on his chest. You would never understand how you got so lucky.
"I love you too, Joshy."

Devotion
Josh Kiszka x ReaderÂ
~ 500 word drabble (18+)!!
Warnings: honestly, this has some creepy undertones. I saw Josh in the age of machine live performance and had to write him as a cult leader AHHAAHHA. If youâre uncomfortable with weird shit, donât read it :)Â
YâallâŠÂ I honestly cannot believe I didnât write for months and this is the shit I come back with.Â
You truly saw him as a God amongst men, the most ethereal being to walk this Earth. Youâd do absolutely anything to hold his attention, there being no limitation to your devotion. Everything about Josh was superlative, youâre certain he was created for a purpose. That purpose hasnât shown itself quite yet, but you were willing to follow him until it does.Â
He saved you from a life of static change, an existence of confusion and dull routine. You first encountered him in your dreams, he seemed so tangible yet you could never quite make out his form, being merely offered his silhouette. It was astoundingly torturous, being offered something so celestial at such a minimal degree. Each night you went to sleep, youâd hope heâd offer more, but he never did... and then you truly saw him, youâd been bar hopping in an attempt to escape another nightly disappointment, it was almost as if youâd manifested him.
Not only was he physically divine, but his voice was immensely alluring. Every word that leaves his lips resembling scripture. No words had to be exchanged, you were both already conscious of one another. He saw you as you truly were, looking past your veil of deception. Nothing in your life had felt right until this point, and you were determined to leave with him. And so he took you, to where? Youâre not exactly sure, it doesn't really matter. As long as you were near him, youâd be elated.Â
A delicate knock sounded at your door, and you recognized it as his. He'd visit you nightly, but somethings been off lately, like heâs been refraining from telling you something. You sound a soft, âcome inâ, and he turns the door knob, stepping into your space. âI think we need to have a talk, belovedâ. Sitting down beside you within close proximity, he raises his hand to the side of your face, placing his thumb on the outer portion of your slightly ajar lips. Staring at him, you stay quiet, awaiting him to continue. âI think itâs time we expand our community, and thereâs nobody else Iâd like to start withâ. You were in shock, heâd had an ever growing number of new followers, the community growing at a staggering rate, yet you lacked the most important part⊠children. There were many other girls in the compound, and yet his first choice was you.Â
âDoes that mean-â, cutting you off, he places both hands firmly on your face, staring into your eyes with an immense amount of emotion, dedication. âYes- would you mother my children, Y/N?â. He never had to ask, there was only one choice. "Iâd do anything for you, Josh, you know thatâ. Pleased with your answer, a bright smile makes itâs way onto his face, you were his most valuable possession, the beginning of his true reign. âWe start tonight.âÂ

Could you do some fluffy josh head cannons/ one shots? đ„°
Sure can! How about this: I'll write a few little blurbs about various fluffy situations with Josh and you can pick which ones you like (or all of them! Lol)
Fluffy Josh Blurbs
#1
You couldn't contain your laughter, and it was totally spurring Josh on. He continued stirring the bowl of batter as he slowly added the cocoa powder and sang his little song.
"Makin' some cake! Gonna be goodddd~ C'mon, baby, sing with me?"
How could you resist? His cheeks were glowing pink and he had smears of flour on his forehead; he was adorable.
Your voices rose together as you finished adding the vanilla extract and almonds.
"Makin' some cake! Gonna be goodddd~"
#2
It was Christmastime, and Josh was literally an elf. He had the rosy cheeks, the chestnut curls, the merry disposition, and the gaudy Christmas sweater. Plus, he was tiny (as always).Â
His movements were quick yet controlled as he twisted the leather cording he was working. When asked what he was doing, he just grinned wider and nodded towards the complex chain of braided knots that was being produced. Occasionally, he stopped to slip a bead made out of animal bone or colored glass onto the leather strand before continuing on, the additional knots securing it in place.Â
He was captivating to watch. Even if his motions were simply being repeated in pattern, the efficiency of his braiding was almost unbelievable. It seemed like only a short while later that he had a finished chocker in his hands, and was adding a crystal pendant to the center of it.Â
Josh brushed invisible dust from his green and red knit sweater and stood up, holding the necklace out.Â
âFor you! Merry Early Christmas!â
#3
Josh yawned and stretched, arms reaching out and back arching like a cat on his knees. He flopped back down onto his stomach afterwards, kicking his short legs out to either side of himself so that he was "starfished".
"'M still tired. Don' wanna get up..." he slurred, blinking slowly at you.
You knew there were places the two of you needed to be. Appointments set well in advance, people to meet, errands to run; a nice, sunny day to go out and greet.
But Josh was so cute (and convincing with that cuteness) sprawled out in bed, naked except for a pair of faded pink boxers and his rolled mass of curls.
"Okay, just a couple minutes."
Were you going to have to rush a bit to get ready in time now? Yes. Was it worth it? Absolutely. Josh smiled and stretched his arm out, reaching for you.
He held you close to his side, wiggling around until he was facing you and could rest his forehead against yours. His eyes slipped shut, soft breaths becoming slower as his whole (small) weight slumped against you.
Josh murmered something, too slurred for you to understand, and kissed you softly. It was sweet and chastes, but it held a world of sleepy love. When he pulled pack, his eyes still closed, his cheeks were faintly glowing. Josh buried his face in your neck, arms tightening around you again, and snuggled in for as long as you would let him.
#4
Josh in a flower crown was goddamned cute. It was made of daisies and orange peonies with little spots of blue columbine, woven together at the stems by the lady at the fair booth. Only visible when he turned his head to catch the sunlight, strands of golden thread and small, ornate pins revealed themselves in flashes; like hidden treasures in a field of flowers.
As soon as she'd seen Josh, she had insisted that that specific crown was the one and that he had to get is. At five dollars, Josh couldn't say no, and soon he was prancing away with his floral wreath nestled firmly into his nest of hair.
Many people stopped and stared; not maliciously, but surprised or delighted to see such an adorable little man skipping along in a flower crown and bell bottoms. He was like a fairy, a time traveler, some sort of otherworldy being of sunshine come straight from a universe where the 70s lived on forever.
An orange petal fell away and drifted down, softly landing on the grass where it sat until Josh picked it up again. He examined it closely, running the wide pad of his thumb over its velvety soft edge. Then, he closed his eyes, seemed to whisoer something to it, and blew it away like a kiss.
It was miraculous that the flower petal caught a breeze and actually floated away for some time; it landed, surely, but it was out of sight. Which meant the experience was magical, and Josh was smiling bigger than ever, gently adjusting his crown and sitting back in the grass.
A goddamned cutie.

Length: 700 words
Warnings/Tags: Halloween, schmoop, fluff, candy, attempted humor, Sanny, flirting, drabbles, twincest, sibling incest (nothing explicit)
Summary: 6 Fluffy/funny/flirty Halloween themed GVF drabbles I wrote instead of going to bed early like I need to. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Author's Notes: Basic title because I'm too tired to do any more creativity. Generally inspired by Luna65's "Josh's Fright Night Festival (that wasn't)" on AO3 and @gretavandumbass 's artwork on Insta for inktober2018. # 6 is 200 words because I couldn't make it fit. #4 is twincest if you wanna skip it
-------------------
#1
"Time to get SPOOKY!" Sam yelled, a small pumpkin in one hand and a red, light up skull in the other.
Jake grabbed a silvery witch hat from a nearby rack and plopped it onto his head.
Danny looked at his bestie thoughtfully, adding a magician's cape and skeletal sunglasses to the ensemble.
"There!"
"Hold that pose, darling," Josh said, and stepped back to get a good camera angle.
At the last, second, Sam awkwardly shuffled over to a cauldron on the floor and propped his foot on it like a Midwestern explorer.
*Snap*
"That's totes going on the 'gram!"
#2
"Back street's back, alright!" Sam sang along, dancing to the Halloween playlist he had going while he decorated the house. Bats were strung in low hanging swaths across the walls and doorways, Jack-o-lanterns grinned from the porch, and purple lights and silvery tinsel were wrapped around every railing and pillar.
He finished spreading metallic confetti over the black lace cloth on the table, artfully arranging a few blood red candles and dishes of candy on top. The authentic fringed suede vest and spurs on his thrift store boots completed his cowboy costume perfectly.
"Sammy, what the fuck it's fucking MAY!"
#3
"Trick or Treat!"
"Daniel, get the fuck back inside and stop trying to eat all the candy."
Danny pouted.
"I was just trying to see if you'd actually answer the door! I haven't heard you talk to trick or treaters all night and I was starting to think you were saving all the candy for yourself."
Jake snorted. "Please! I just have some subtlety so I can *frighten* them like I'm *supposed* to. Now fucking get in here and watch the damn movie."
"But it's scary!"
"Oh for the love of- go cuddle with your boyfriend, then, you big baby."
#4
!!!! Contains twincest skip if you don't like!!!!!
But *goddamn* did Josh look amazing in that costume.
And hilarious. But mostly hot.
His abs were perfectly on display in that little crop top, as was his spectacular ass in those booty shorts. Whatever gloss was on his lips just made them SO kissable it wasn't even funny.
Jake was glad he was wearing loose pants for once.
Up ahead, a few guys laughed and jeered at Josh. He blew them all a kiss and wiggled his ass as he strutted bye, Jake following, drooling, hot on his tail.
"Can't believe you actually dressed up like a bimbo slut."
#5
"Sammy, could you... would you please stop that?" Danny begged, sounding borderline desperate.
"What?" Sam asked, fluttering his eyelashes innocently. He gave the lollipop another slow swirl with his tongue.
"That."
"You mean I can't eat the candy I worked hard for? For shame, Daniel, let a man enjoy the fruits of his labor."
"You'll be enjoying the fruits of *my* labor if you don't knock it off," Danny whispered, suddenly crowding Sam against the kitchen counter. "I'll fuck you right here where anyone could walk in at any moment if you don't stop."
Sam smiled and took another lick.
#6
"Stop fucking with your teeth! And don't touch your face, you'll ruin the make up," Josh snapped, adjusting Jake's hair so that it was '. tussled' or whatever it was called.
"But they're awkward! I can barely close my mouth," Jake grumbled, almost indecipherable through the mouthful of plastic.
Josh looked at him and sighed. He looked fucking ridiculous, not like the sexy vampire he was at all.
"Okay, here, you can wear the press on fangs. Just be careful not to lose them if you eat anything, they pop off super easy."
"Aww, such a good big brother, taking care of me."
"Well, I can't have you out there looking like a mess ruining *my* reputation. What would people think if I couldn't do decent makeup and styling?"
Jake rolled his eyes. "Such a drama queen. Now stop touching me, I know I look hot but seriously."
Josh huffed and ran his hands over Jake's torso, just to spite him, then finally stepped back.
"Okay, there, done. Now go; be hot, have fun, use protection, and bring me back some candy."
"Anything for you, sugar." Jake purred. Josh smacked his ass just for that as he was leaving. Lunatic.

Liquid Courage
Josh x Female Reader
A/N: I tried to distract myself and this happened... sorry for any mistakes. I didn't proofread it. I hope it's still enjoyable for you.
Summary: Josh had one too many shots and as you try to help him sober up outside, new sides of him appear.
word count: 1.879
The voices around you were roaring as they tried to be heard over the blaring music. You sipped on your drink absently, not even bothering to try to decipher what your friends were going on about. Danny and Sam were deep in a discussion with some other dudes that had joined your group during the evening. Meanwhile, Jake was already dissociating most of the evening as he leaned against the wall, playing with his necklace, and occasionally sipping on his beer. Josh was God knows where, probably mingling with different groups of strangers, downing one shot after another. You yourself just had come back from the dance floor, needing a break from the hustle of the crowd around you.
You were just about to ask Jake if he had seen Josh the last couple of hours or if you should send a search party soon when you felt a presence appear behind you getting closer until a chest pressed against your back.
âHello, pretty lady.â Josh suddenly rasped into your ear, making goosebumps raise on your neck.
âHey handsome.â you smiled over your shoulder, met by the image of a clearly intoxicated Josh.
âHave I ever told you how beautiful you are?â Josh slurred, snaking his arms around your waist. As his arms brushed over your sides you felt the familiar tingle in your stomach whenever Josh was close to you. You hadnât even processed what was happening when he suddenly nuzzled his nose against your neck, his hot breath hitting your skin.
âHow about we take you outside for a bit,â you shouted over the music, stepping away from his touch.
âWhy?â he asked concerned, âArenât you feeling well?â
âNo, Iâm good.â you consoled him, âBut I think you could use some fresh air. Youâre clearly intoxicated.â
âYou have me intoxicated.â he retorted sly, pulling you in by your waist. Your heart raced as he smiled down at you, heat rising to your head.
âStop it.â you hit his chest playfully.
âOk, but only because you look so adorable when you protest.â he winked with a mischievous grin, âThen letâs take it to the alley!â he suddenly proclaimed, pointing his fingers towards the exit. With a radiating smile on his lips, he offered you his hand which you took with slight hesitation, leading him towards the exit. Josh followed along giddily, squeezing your hand every now and then, enjoying the warm touch of her hand.
Once outside, his hand pulled you back, spinning you around and pulling you close again. His hand ran up and down your back over your clothing. His hand lingered there for a moment, rubbing the soft material, when all of a sudden, he leaned down and kissed your neck. Frozen in place it took you a second to react.
âW-what are you doing?â you managed to stutter, your cheeks crimson red by now, overwhelmed by his closeness. You were used to his flirty nature and his casual touches, but neck kisses were definitely out of the ordinary, taking you by surprise.
âYou wanted some privacy, right?â he smiled, his eyes twinkling with mischief, âThatâs why weâre here.
âI think you had a few drinks too muchâŠâ you tried to sound playful, âI'm used to your hugs and perhaps a peck on the cheek... but the kisses are new to me... or did I miss something?â you laughed nervously.
Josh chuckled, shaking his head yes. âIâm drunk as a skunk!â he giggled, pressing another light kiss against your cheek, before putting his lips back to your ear. âI just have a weakness for you.â he sighed, his hand starting to slip under your shirt, âand you make it hard to resist.â
His touch tingled on your skin, your back welcoming his touch. You had dreamed of this day for so long but still, it didn't feel right. Your hand quickly caught his, making him halt before he could continue with something he might regret later.
âJosh wait.â you hummed, trying to pull yourself together, âYou're drunk, you're out of your mind right now. I don't want you to do anything you wouldnât want to do sober.â you gazed sterny into his eyes. He stopped immediately, looking into your eyes, smiling slightly.
âYou know what, mama? Youâre right.â he pulled his hand away and stepped back, âI am pretty tanked.â he chuckled, âYou just look especially beautiful tonight. I guess I lost control. Iâm sorry if I did something that made you feel uncomfortable.â
âI just don't want you to say or do something youâll regret, you know?â you softly rubbed his arm, âDon't get me wrong... I'm not rejecting you. I- Iâ you stuttered and stopped yourself. You shook your head and took a deep breath.
âYou know what, if you're as shit-faced as you look right now you won't remember it by tomorrow anyway.â you eyed him up and down, âJosh, I like you. More than a friend... and more than for just a fling.â you finally confessed. Josh simply chuckled, grinning madly at you.
âWell in that case!â he took a step forward, kissing you. Your eyes grew wide as his lips gently met yours, a firework of sensations rattling through your body. It took you a moment before your brain finally snapped back into reality, reciprocating his kiss.
âJoshâŠâ you huffed breathlessly when you parted.
âIâll never regret this. Never could, never will, beautiful.â he hummed huskily, âIâll be yours for as long as you like. And you shall see, I remember everything. Iâve got quite the capacity for information retention. Especially, where you are concerned.â he smiled, pressing his forehead against yours.
âDo you really feel like this?â you gulped, âOr is it just the alcohol talking?â
âThe alcohol is merely loosening me up, darling.â he chuckled softly, âYou are the only thing I can think of the only thing that matters to me most days. Iâve liked you that way longer than I can remember. I was just too much of a coward to admit it. But Iâve spent too much time running. What we have is much more than friendship and I know you feel it too. I am head over heels in love with you.â
âBut I never thought you liked me that way?â you huffed, only processing his words slowly, completely missing that he had just confessed his love to you.
âOh, if only you knew!â he snickered, âYou cannot imagine how many nights Iâve spent alone, unable to sleep and thinking only of you. Just with the way you smile, the way you look at me... no other woman has ever held my attention in this way. No other being has made me feel this way.â he grabbed your hand and put it to his heart so you could feel his heartbeat, gazing deep into your eyes, âYou are the one, mama. I know it. There is no one else for me! I want to be with you. To hold you. To kiss you. To love you, and to be loved by you. Do you want this with me, too?â
All you could muster up was a nod in response, the happiness washing over you, making it hard to breathe. You fell around his neck, hugging him tightly while you buried your nose against his neck, breathing his scent in. Josh hugged you back tightly, kissing the crown of your head. He held you close, your bodies pressed together. After a moment he pulled back slightly, his eyes brimming with tears.
âI hope you know that I mean that this is forever now. Weâre a team, and not even death will pull us apart!â he rambled.
âWell, I sure hope so.â you nodded amused, timidly kissing his cheek to emphasise it. As you pulled away slightly, you caught his gaze. His lips were parted slightly, his tooth gap peeking out from under his soft lips. All you wanted to do was kiss him again but for some reason, your courage left you. He smiled as he looked lovingly at you, his thumb caressing your cheek.
âIf only we could freeze time right nowâŠâ he hummed before kissing you deeply, the passion he felt for you almost too great to contain. You melted against his lips as they moved in sync with yours, his nose bumping against yours occasionally.
âIâd live these few moments on repeat for eternity,â he whispered against your lips; his eyes half-lidded.
âBut if we froze time our forever would never start, now, would it?â you mumbled still in your kiss-caused daze.
âYou make a good point. A very good point.â he chuckled, cradling your face in his palms, âI suppose that means our forever starts today, doesnât it, love?â he smiled softly, leaning in to give you a quick kiss. âAnd I couldnât imagine it being any better than this.â
You leaned your head against his chest, your arms wrapped around his torso tightly. âMe neither.â you sighed content, âI love you so, so much, Josh. I lack the words to describe it.â Joshâs face was starting to hurt from all the smiling by now. His hands were gently stroking your hair as he held you close.
âIâm yours, Y/N. Iâm all yours.â he softly kissed your forehead, just for the sensation of your soft skin, âI canât wait to be just like this, you and I, forever and ever.â
âSooâŠâ you hummed against his chest after a while as you swayed softly from side to side, enjoying your embrace, âWhat exactly were your plans earlier⊠you know, when you put your hand under my shirt.â You couldn't help the grin that formed on your lips when you felt Josh pause for a brief moment.
âI believe I had been flirting on autopilot, Y/N. You were just so⊠stunning. I couldnât help myself.â he chuckled abashed as he looked down at you, âI guess Iâm a slave to your beauty, you know what I mean?â
Your cheeks flushed once more, your boldness suddenly returning, âThen why don't you pick up where you left then?â you tried to sound sultry. Josh raised an eyebrow and smirked, slowly leaning down.
âWhat is it you want, Mama?â his voice was soft, almost a hush, âWhat do you want me to do?â
âI want to feel your lips on my skin,â you whispered barely over your breath. Josh stared at you for a moment, a deep intensity emerging between you two, before he finally moved his mouth to your neck.
âYou want to feel my lips⊠on your skinâŠâ he chuckled darkly, âIs there a particular area I should start with?â
You swallow hard as his breath hit your neck. âI think you're already in the perfect spot.â you managed to reply, your fingers holding on tightly to his forearms as the anticipation was starting to make your head spin. Josh smirked deviously, his lips coming into light contact with your soft skin, his touch sending you to heaven - a long, slow, tender kiss following shortly after.
âI feel like Iâm dreaming right now.â he rasped against the shell of your ear, âAnd I want you to know, I never want to wake up. This is better than any dream I could ever dream.â

authors note: what was supposed to be a little drabble turned into something much⊠longer? iâve been thinking about dad!josh for over a week now and need to get something out :( would love to write about dad!josh again, so any requests/ideas would be greatly appreciated! i also used this prompt for this lol as always, enjoy, feedback is appreciated, and i love you <3
pairing: josh kiszka x neutral!reader
warnings: none lol minus swearing?
word count: 2.6k

You comb your fingers through the sleeping childâs hair, a soft smile on your lips. Her soft curls bounced back after you ran your fingers through them, soft snores leaving from her parted lips. Sheâs grown so much in the last three years and itâs times like this you miss how little she was. You donât get to see her as much anymore, with the way you work and Josh constantly on the road, so you cherish every moment you get to spend with her. When Joshâs usual babysitter had fallen sick and couldnât come by, you immediately offered, not being able to pass up the opportunity to spend the night with your favorite person.
Or, well, one of them. Sheâs up there with Josh.
You chucked it up to you missing the little girl in your arms, which was true, you missed her dearly. But you knew it was more than that. It was always more when it came to Josh. Youâd drop almost any and every thing for him, especially when it came to his child.
Your head turns towards the door when you hear the rattling of the lock, Joshâs voice muffled by the walls. Violet stirs in your arms and you freeze, rubbing her back gently to coax her back to sleep. Eventually her movements stop and the snoring continues.Â
âSam, I am not driving all the way back there.â You hear him say as he opens the door, shutting it behind him quietly when he notices the little girl sleeping away in your arms, smiling softly before continuing, âNo, Iâm sorry, but Iâm not doing that. Not my fault you decided to leave your wallet in my car. What? Sam, I said no. Yes, I did use my dad voice on you. I donât care if you didnât appreciate it. Shut up. Iâll bring it to you in the morning. Itâs late. Goodnight, Samuel.â
You press your lips together to muffle your laughter as Josh makes his way towards the two of you, rolling his eyes dramatically.Â
âLittle brothers, am I right?â
You grin. âGiving you a hard time?â
Josh stands in front of you two now, reaching down to run his fingerâs through Violetâs hair. He gives you a look in response, pursing his lips into a frown and furrowing his brows. The look has you laughing but you quickly catch yourself, feeling Violet stir in your arms again and both you and Josh freeze. You rub her back gently like you had done minutes before, hoping it would ease her back to sleep.
She stretches her arms before settling back against your chest, tiny fingers curling around your shirt to hold herself closer to you. You coo softly at the sight and look up at Josh to find him pulling his phone out, quickly snapping a photo of the two of you, the fondest smile on his lips.
âYouâre so good with her,â He murmurs, stashing his phone back into his pocket. âYouâre the best person I know.â
You blush, your heart fluttering beneath your chest and you give him a half-hearted shrug due to the girl clinging to you. âItâs no big deal.â
You slowly stand up from the couch, careful not to move her too much as you hand her off to Josh. You watch as he carefully cradles her against his chest, eyes fluttering shut as he takes a moment to hug her. Itâs enough to make your heart melt, lips forming into a pout because seriously? That was the cutest thing you have ever seen.
âItâs a very big deal actually.â He says, eyes flickering towards you. âIâm not sure what Iâd do without you.â
You smile, shoulders going up into a nonchalant shrug. âThatâs what friends are for.â
The words leave your mouth before you can even think about it. The two of you stare at each other for a moment until you have to look away, Joshâs gaze becoming almost too much.
âWeâre not just friends. You know that.â Joshâs voice was quiet, muffled by Violetâs curls as he presses a kiss to her temple, but his eyes remain on you.
You swallow. âI donât know what you mean.â
Itâs a cop-out, truly, because you know exactly what he means. And he was right. You knew the exact moment when your friendship turned into something more, when he turned into something other than just your best friend. When his touches began to leave a burning mark on your skin, when his words started holding new meaning, when your eyes locking together far too long to just be friendly.
He became your person. The person.
âY/N -â His voice cuts off from the gentle whine that comes from the sleeping girl, her arms tightening around his neck. âListen, Iâm gonna put her to bed but just⊠wait here, okay?â
You give him a silent nod and watch as he walks down the hall towards her room. You wait until heâs out of view before you make your way back to the couch, slumping down onto it. Your mind drifts back to Josh and you immediately think of him putting his daughter down to sleep, softly singing whatever song she had requested for the night while he got her ready for bed.
The thought brings a smile to your face.
It was a long road to get where he is now. Violet had been a surprise to both him and his girlfriend at the time, to the band, and to about everyone else. You remember the night Josh came to you, in tears, the fear and excitement written on his face, and you knew that you would do anything to help him. They had decided to keep the baby, even though theyâd only been together for a few short months, but you and his family were right by their side the entire time. Their number one supporters.
Your eyes drift around the living room, looking at the pictures Josh has set up. Your eyes land on one of Violet, no more than a few months old, and you can tell right away sheâs sat on her mothers lap. Your heart drops.
You donât know the full story on what happened to her. No one does. Josh left it at that she was gone and claimed she wasnât ready for this, ready to settle down with a child. She left a few months before Violetâs first birthday. No oneâs heard from her since.
It upsets you that someone could just up and leave their own child, but you donât know the full story. Josh never talks about it. It breaks your heart knowing Violet really wonât have core memories with her mother, but sheâs surrounded by people who loved her more than they loved themselves, and thatâs enough for you.
Your eyes drift to the picture next to it and your lips stretch into a wide smile. It was a picture of you with Violet in her 2nd birthday. Her face was scrunched up and mouth open, you could hear the giggles she was letting out while you tickled her. You hadnât even realized Josh had taken a photo of you two until weeks later when you found it sitting in his living room, heart swelling.
âShe always falls asleep so quick when youâre here,â Joshâs sudden voice causes you to jump, turning your head to see him standing near the couch. âWhy canât you live here again?â
You laugh. âBecause I have my own place? Plus, Iâm sure youâd get tired of me.â
Josh plants himself on the couch beside you, tipping his head back to rest against the headrest. His eyes flutter shut and you take this moment to let your eyes move over him, taking in his features. Youâd always thought Josh was the most beautiful person youâve ever laid eyes on, even before you grew feelings for him.
âI could never get tired of you.â
âRight,â You drawled out the word, a few giggles slipping from your lips, âbut once you find me in the kitchen at 3 AM making spaghetti for the third night in the row donât say I didnât warn you.â
He stares at you for a moment before letting out a loud belly laugh and you shush him almost immediately. His hand flies up to his mouth and the two of your stare at each other with wide eyes for a few seconds, hoping his laughter didnât wake up the sleeping child only rooms away. You press your lips together to hold in the laughter youâre dying to let escape, and by the way Joshâs shoulders are shaking, heâs doing the same.
âSeriously though,â He says after the laughter had subsided, lips quirking into a smile, âIâd never get tired of you. Neither would Vi. Iâm sure sheâd love to have you around all the time, I know I would. Youâd be like⊠the best person to live with.â
Your stomach flips at his words and you shift in your spot, pulling your legs up on the couch and underneath you.
âYouâre just saying that because youâre my friend.â You mumble lamely, picking at the fabric of your jeans. Josh scoffs.
âAgain, weâre not just friends. You know we crossed that bridge a long time ago.â
You feel his eyes burning into your skin and it takes everything in you not to jump up and leave right then and there. You give him a shrug in response, eyes locked on your lap.
âAgain, I donât know what you mean.â
âYou know exactly what I mean.â He says and reaches over to place a hand under your chin, lifting your head up to stare at him. âYou always run away from this. Why?â
You freeze.
Why do you always run away? Well, itâs simple. Thereâs always that possibility of you giving in to your feelings and letting go of those fears that you hold so close to your heart, and then for it all to come and bite you in the ass. What if you and Josh try and it ends in flames? Josh has been a constant for more than half your life. The thought of him not being there one day hurts more than you can ever explain.
You move away from his touch and off of the couch, your face burning from where his hand had been.
âIâm scared.â Is all you say, staring down at him with your lips pressed into a frown.
âWhy?â He stands in front of you now, brows furrowing in frustration.
âBecause it could all go to shit? What if we try and it doesnât work out and I lose you?â Your throat tightens. âI lose Violet? I donât think I could handle that.â
His gaze softens, frustrated expression falling from his face. âYou know Iâd never let that happen.â
âBut what if?â Your voice raises just the slightest bit and you have to take a deep breath to calm yourself before continuing, âJosh, you mean more to me than anything. And Violet means the fucking world to me. Iâm not about to risk the possibility of losing the two people I care about most in this entire world for some silly little feelings.â
âYou know itâs not just some silly little feelings.â He takes a step closer to you, his lips twisted into a frown. âYou know itâs more than that, Y/N. It always has been.â
âJosh -â
âPlease, just listen to me.â He begs. âI love you. Iâve never been⊠silent about it. I want this. I want you. And I know you do too.â
You stiffen, mouth opening to give him some kind of retort but heâs lifting up a finger to shush you, continuing, âYouâre my person. The only one I want to do this whole life thing with. And I know how you are - youâre going to overthink this and send yourself into a freak out but please, donât do that. Just⊠let yourself be happy for once.â
âI think I should go home.â Another cop out, but youâre not sure how much longer you can stand here, listening to these words that keep flowing from Joshâs mouth. Itâs overwhelming.
The two of you are staring at each other, so close that if you took one more small step and tilted your head up just a bit, your lips would be on his. His gaze drifts to your mouth before finding your eyes again and you swallow.
Joshâs hands find yours, giving them a gentle squeeze before tugging you closer to him. âBut youâre here, so stay.â
âI canât -â
âYes, you can.â It comes out almost like a whine and you dip your head down to hide the blush on your cheeks. âIâm tired - both literally and figuratively. We can talk about this more tomorrow but right now⊠all I want is to wake up next to you and make some pancakes with my two most favorite people in the entire world. Can you please give me that? Just one time?â
His hands feel heavy in yours and you stare down at them, letting yourself have this moment. And⊠and maybe Josh is right. Maybe you should let yourself have this one moment of happiness that youâve been yearning for for years. Maybe you should let go and not overthink this, not overthink his feelings or yours, and just be happy for once. It sounds easy in thought. You know itâs not.
Still, you give his hands a gentle squeeze and your eyes drift up to meet his again, not missing the look of complete fondness heâs giving you. It makes your stomach flutter.
âOkay,â It comes out as a whisper and Josh smiles.
So... you let go. You let him drag you towards his room - not before stopping by Violetâs so you can wish her a goodnight, even if sheâs dead asleep - and the two of you get ready for bed. You change into some night clothes that you had left there and the two of you go through your nighttime routines.
It was nice, brushing your teeth beside Josh. Youâd bump your hips together whenever heâd give you goofy faces through the mirror, and there were a few times you almost spit your toothpaste out. You washed your face, argued with Josh for almost skipping washing his face and made him do it - even if he was tired and just wanted to sleep. Then the two of you shuffle back into his room and slip into bed, side by side.
You lay there for a moment, frozen, and you feel Josh shuffle around beside you before his arms slip under you, pulling you into his chest. You try to relax, resting your head against his chest and letting your arms circle around him, your legs tangling together.
âSeriously, Y/N, just relax.âÂ
His voice was muffled by his pillow and you feel him card his fingers through your hair, gently scratching at your scalp because he knew you liked it. Your eyes fluttered shut as you let yourself finally relax against his body and finally let the sleep overtake you.
The next morning you wake up to Violet running into his room and jumping onto the bed, squealing in excitement when she noticed that you had stayed. She then proceeded to drag the two of you out of bed, requesting that you make her pancakes right now or else sheâll be very upset with the both of you.
And when you watch Josh chase Violet around the kitchen with the remainder of the pancake batter, and her little giggles erupting through the house while you flip the pancakes over in a pan, you realize you could definitely get used to this.

Slow It Down (D.R.W/S.F.K)- Epilogue
Pairings: Danny Wagner x Sam Kiszka, (background) Josh Kiszka x Male O.C.
Genre:Â drabble, fluff
Word Count:Â 842
Warnings:Â ouchie but in a good way
--------------------------------------------------------
September 4th, 2034, 8:30 AM
âAlright everyone, I know itâs too early in the morning for this lecture, so Iâll go easy on you guys for the first day.â Sam smiles at the students in his lecture hall, praying that he would make a good impression even after all the years he had spent teaching. âWeâre just going to start out with you guys getting to know me, I always feel better teaching a class when I know that my students know me, and then weâll go over the syllabus and all that fun technical stuff.â
The room stays silent, all 57 pairs of tired eyes trained on him. âFirst of all, I just want to say that Iâm fine with you all calling me Sam, weâre all adults here. If youâre more comfortable calling me Professor or Doctor Kiszka-Wagner, thatâs fine too. I really donât care what you call me as long as itâs not Sammy; thatâs reserved for my family and close friends. Second, raise your hand if youâre coming from out of state.â He smiles again when he sees Ÿ of the room does so. âAlright, good to know. I was an out of state kid at NYU too. And I know that youâre all freshman, right?â
Met with silent nods, he continues. âThis is a small intro class so I figured. This isnât like high school, if you need to go to the bathroom, just go. If you get hungry and have a snack, eat it, just don't leave a mess please. Attendance isnât mandatory but all I ask is that you show up at least once a week. We will have quizzes on lecture material though, so being here will help. I do post notes from lectures online, but again, it will significantly help if you come to the lectures. Weâll get into more of that later but now Iâll introduce myself more. Iâm originally from Frankenmuth, Michigan; which if none of you know where that is, thatâs totally fine, itâs practically Christmastown, Michigan.â
When he hears quiet laughter, Sam feels a slight boost, helping him continue. âI didnât come to NYU until I was a Senior at a college in Michigan, changed my major from business to astronomy the second I got here. To get really personal for a moment to help you guys better understand me, I want you all to know that moving here was the scariest thing Iâve ever done. Since most of you are out of state, I know how hard this might have been for you. My older brother once told me that I needed to take control of my life, stop being scared to fully live and just do it. That has changed my life in more ways than I can count on one hand, so if thatâs the only thing you take away from this first day, then Iâll be happy. My office hours are on the syllabus, if you need to talk, even if it isnât about the lecture, my door is always open. And I know that the school has a complicated, longer than necessary process for mental health resources, so if you need that please come and talk to me. My brotherâs husband is a local therapist, and heâs told me that he will always make time for any of my students if they need to talk to a professional. I know that I donât need to share this with you all, it may be unorthodox, and youâll find probably none of your other professors will do this, but itâs important to me that you know this. On a less serious note, my husband teaches some Marine Biology classes here that satisfy your general university requirements, and heâs a great professor so you should definitely take a class with him. Daniel Kiszka-Wagner in the directory, look him up.â
Sam is met with silence once more, not an uncomfortable one, but one of understanding; and he knew that he truly had begun to connect with his students. âAlright, Iâll pull up the syllabus now, although I am old so you might need to give me a minute to figure this technology out. Iâm not that old, Iâm only 35 so if you call me old to my face I will flunk you.â Met with quiet laughter again, he smiles before moving to the desk where his computer sat, working to project his syllabus on the projector.
Pulling it up successfully, he glances at the screen before addressing his students again. âAlso, I do have tenure so I donât care a lot anymore, I will drop some curse words, but I wonât tell if you donât. And the textbook is definitely free some places online, so please donât pay for it. You didnât hear that from me though.â He winks once before raising the clicker in his hand, beginning to walk his students through the syllabus, only stopping to answer a question here and there. This semester was going to be a good one, he could feel it.

Untitled- JTK
inspired by this song: To Build A Home by The Cinematic Orchestra
warnings: THIS IS SAD, mentions of death
I wrote this a couple days ago. I write what I feel. . .
There are just somethings you should never hear over a phone call. Y/N didn't know that the simple ring from her mother-in-law would end with her heat quite literally breaking into two. The loud scream that pierced through the office floor sent everyones eyes to the closed office door. Her boss ran down the hall and barged into her office, just in time to catch her from hitting the floor. The screams and cries that left her mouth were enough to break everyones heart that was listening.
She cursed him out. She cursed the other driver out. She even cursed God out. Karen couldn't bare to hear the pain through the receiver and hung up, knowing one of her boys would be on their way to go retrieve her and bring her to the hospital.
No one said anything as she walked into the hospital. Everyone and everything was still. No one looked her in the eye either, too heartbroken. She stood tall though, holding her head up, letting her everyone see the emptiness behind her eyes. The family had already seen and ID'd him. There was something deep down in her heart that hoped they had gotten the wrong person. But she knew, a mother would never ID the wrong person.
His usual tan was gone. His body pale, almost gray to the color. His hair that was once shiny and full of life, hung down and was matted with blood. Small scars littered his face and arms. She cried softly as she ran her hand over his hair. The doctor stood in the corner, looking grimly at the girl as she sobbed over his body.
They had just started their life. Married a year ago, and expecting their first child, a boy, whom he had been over the moon excited about. She felt as though bricks were now tied to her feet. It took everything in her to not tear the white sheet off of him once the doctor covered his body back up.
When she walked back out to the waiting room, his twin engulfed her in his arms, holding her up as her legs were shaking and ready to give out at any moment. It was unclear how she was going to move on. How does one move on from this?
The next week was spent with people infiltrating her home. She was never alone, everyone kept a close eye on her. She felt like she was under a microscope. She spent three days locked in her room, in constant darkness. It took the two brothers to drag her out of the room and eat something. She was close to her due date, and they knew it was time for her to check out.
Kelly and Karen handled all the details, not wanting to stress her out. They watched as every day she would come down the stairs, pour herself a mug of tea, and sit at the kitchen table, her back to everyone, starring out the window into nothing. Her heart was broken.
The house was never quiet, but now it was. There was no music playing. No laughter echoing. No conversations to be had. The quiet was loud, and everyone knew it. No one dared to make a sound as they moved around.
She had blocked out the whole service, not remembering a single part of it. She remembered seeing the beautiful dark wooden casket he was laid in. They had put him in the navy blue suit she had loved so much. She barely remembered getting up to speak in front of the crowd, but she did. Both boys gave her praise for how strong she was for speaking.
She was the last to leave, as she watched the gravediggers lower his casket into the ground, and seal the vault. She stood by and watched as the piled the dirt back on top of the vault. The boys stood by the car, looking anywhere but at the plot their brother now laid under. They knew they couldn't leave her there, so they painfully waited for her to say her final goodbye. The drive home was silent, as she looked out the window, mindlessly drawing shapes over her belly and letting tears roll down her cheeks.
It was three weeks to the day, that her water broke in the middle of the night. She hadn't been sleeping in her once shared bed, but for some reason she decided to that night. She had woken up with a scream, that sent the two brothers stumbling into her bedroom. Neither one really knew what to do, but quickly calmed her down and got her down to the car.
She didn't think she would have the strength to walk back into the hospital. But much like she did three weeks ago, she walked in with her head held high, pain and emptiness in her eyes. The nurses and doctors moved quickly to her and sat her down in a wheelchair. She demanded that the brothers went back with her, and they let them.
The pain of labor was one of the first things she had felt in so long. She had grown numb to everything around her. But the pain ripping through her body reminded her that she was still alive. Sweat and tears ran down her body as the youngest boy rubbed her back as she was fighting through a contraction.
"I can't do this," She cried out.
"You have to."
"I can't do this without him!" She yelled.
She sat on the bed, in the room alone with just a doctor and nurse. The brothers had been kicked out, her request, as she started to push. She did her best, pushing with as much strength as she could, but her body was just too weak.
"I can't."
"You have to," The doctor said, looking up at her, "You have to. You have no choice. Your baby will go into distress and so will you."
The door barged open, and she closed her eyes, too weak to put up a fight. She watched as he pushed over to her, and climbed behind her on the bed.
"Josh. . ." She cried, leaning her head back against him.
"I know," Josh soothed her. The nurse handed him a damp rag to wipe her sweat, "I know he would do it if roles were reversed."
"I need him," She whimpered out.
"I know," Josh clenched his jaw, trying to push back his own tears, "I do too. But you also need to bring this healthy boy into the world. For him."
She nodded and gripped Josh's hands. She took a deep breath and listened as the doctor counted down. On one, she let out a loud scream as she pushed as hard as she could. Josh whispered encouraging things into her ear as she used what ever strength she had buried within herself to bring the baby into the world.
When the melodic cry broke through the room, she leaned back against Josh, completely spent. Josh smiled, tears down his cheek as the doctor laid the new born against her chest. She looked up at Josh, tears in her own eyes. The little baby boy was a carbon copy of his father.
"We did it, Jake," Y/N whispered and kissed her son's forehead.
