author's note: this will eventually be a one-shot published on ao3, but for now, I'll post this scene. the following scene takes place during the '98 election cycle. at this point, bartlet and hoynes are on the ticket together. (want to imagine catherine with a face claim? kristin davis in sex and the city!)

Catherine resisted the urge to twiddle her thumbs. Her mother had taught her better. But Dr. Bartlet was not making anything easy.

“I do not need anyone to tell me how to dress! I know how to dress myself! Where’s Leo—?”

Catherine took her chance. She squared her shoulders and said, “Dr. Bartlet, I wasn’t hired to dress you. Quite frankly, you’re not the problem. It’s your husband.”

“My husband?”

“Governor Bartlet could speak all day about economics and theology and whether or not Notre Dame is doing well during the football season. He’s a smart man, but he cannot dress himself!”

Catherine paused to take a breath. She wondered if she would jinx the election with the words she wanted to say… She continued anyway.

“You’re doing well in the polls. The Bartlet-Hoynes ticket has a chance of winning. Your schedule isn’t going to allow you to be able to pick the Governor’s suit and tie for every event, Doctor.”

There was a begrudging acceptance in Dr. Bartlet’s eyes. The older woman assessed Catherine with a keen gaze. “You always address me as ‘Doctor,’ never ‘Mrs.’”

“You’re more than just a wife and mother, Doctor Bartlet. Pardon my French, but you’re a kickass thoracic surgeon. Anyone who calls you ‘Mrs. Bartlet’ should correct themselves.”

Dr. Bartlet stared for a moment before she said, “Catherine, you can call me Abbey. Do you go by Cate?”

Catherine smiled and laughed. “Oh, no, I’m Catherine—just Catherine.”

At this point, Starlette has come to accept the fact that strange and unusual things will always happen in her life, and she's just going to have to live her life with Egon around them. In other words, these are the events that happen between Ghostbusters II (1989) and Ghostbuster: Afterlife (2021).

However, when John Hammond, quite literals drops the opportunity to get to see dinosaurs alive and in all their glory, will she jump at the opportunity, or will she see be able to put aside her passions and see the consequences of using science to play God with nature. Will those consequences catch up with her in a personal and intimate way?

It's been four years since Dr. Amaryllis Grant had nearly died during the accident at Jurassic Park, and she's been tasked with the mission to observe the dinosaurs that were left to their own devices on one of Isla Nublar's sister islands in an effort to ensure that they are left alone, and nobody else has to be injured or killed. However, when has anything ever gone right on these islands?

It has been eight years since the original events that took place at Jurassic Park, and four years since the unfortunate incident that took place on Isla Sorna and in San Diego. Needless to say, Amaryllis Grant-Malcolm has gotten to the point where she thought those events were long behind her, and it happily enjoying life with her husband, her daughters, her brother, sister-in-law, and her nephew and niece. However, money to continue a dig in Montana is rapidly drying up, and when the opportunity comes to get the money needed to keep it running, her brother jumps at the chance. What else is Amaryllis to do, but go with him on an what was supposed to be a simple trip flying over Isla Sorna? What could possibly go wrong?

I’m not huge into fandoms in general. Early in life I wasn’t super into a lot of things that other people on tumblr were. The closest I ever got into being part of a community that made things centered around a show or youtuber was SlyFoxHound back in the day. I wonder what he’s up to. I haven’t watched him in years. I made a couple of fan-art things. I drew way better back then. I wasn’t trying so hard. Maybe that’s been my problem tbh

kind of a cousin of that, i’m not super into shipping, but honestly if you don’t think that Hardison and Parker, Danny and CJ, and Charlie and Zoey are perfect for each other then you’re wrong (wow two of those are West Wing oops).

eh, if it’s not perfect then i’m not very invested. The OT3 of Hardison, Parker, and Elliot is super cute tho (and apparently it was confirmed cannon after the fact?????).

HONESTLY okay so my favorite stories are where there’s no clear-cut villain, just because as a philosophy i hate the idea of a “true good vs evil” so i’ma go with antagonist. This list changes a lot, so the order her is mostly inconsequential 1 JIM. FUCKING. STIRLING., 2 Jed Bartlet’s inner demons (yeah i said it), 3 Envy (FMA:B), 4 Klingons (as they’re often set up as antagonists to the federation in an ideological sense, regardless of what side they’re on and i like that complexity), 5 Azula.... holy shit Azula. 

1 Martin Sheen, 2 Mark Sheppard, 3 Bradly Whitford (i did not expect his performance in Get Out to be nearly that good tbh), 4 Richard Schiff, 5 Sir Patrick Stewart. I’m sorry, West Wing had too strong of a cast lmaooo

1 Allison “The Jackal” Janney, 2 Stockhard Channing, 3 Kirsten Vangsness (Character didn’t break the top 5, but holy shit how Kirsten plays Penelope is absolutely flawless. Granted i’ve only seen like 7 or 8 seasons of the show tbh and can’t bring myself to watch more), 4 Lucy Liu (Haven’t given Elementary the attention it deserves but holy shit do i love this woman and how she makes the very standard “Watson” character incredibly fun and unique with how well she portrays an actual guide/friend for Sherlock rather than just a kindamaybe gay lackey), 5 again, Claire Temple wouldn’t be nearly the character she was without Rosario Dawson to back her up. SO FREAKIN SMART, strong, idealistic, and given a real backbone by Rosario.

Youtube communities and comment sections very early on in my highschool career had a HUGE impact on who I became, how energetic i was, how much i value my friends, and what games i played. Thank you Homies. That’s one community that i’m never gonna forget, even if i wasn’t in the in-crowds. I’ve never been at the cool kids table even for the nerds lmaooo

Political Drama and high fantasy

Don’t read fanfiction.

I don’t read much anymore oops. I’ve been trying to fix that for years. I don’t really read enough to have a good voice on this. I’ve been enjoying Naomi Novik’s His Majesty’s Dragon but I started the second book over a year ago and i’m only halfway through and starting it over again because i forgot all of it.

I’m gonna follow what Jordan Peele does. Get Out was beyond amazing. I’ve also recently found a few AMAZING youtube channels that I think everyone should check, out, here, are, just, a few. These all have to do with critical analysis of media, be it youtube, films, or video games, but they all have a very unique way to do it in a way I find INCREDIBLY valuable and entertaining. PLEASE click at least one of them!!!
