Have you SEEN Eddie? How could you see someone with that smile and those eyes and not flirt with him? Bartender: So you WANT me to flirt with your boyfriend? Buck: Oh, if you dare flirt with him, I will put your HEAD on the rocks Bartender: I am so confused Eddie: Yeah, so am I

A Lark In a Hollow Chapter One
Really, she doesn't have a choice.
Lark barely remembers the huge shadow of a man sitting beside her in the dead heat of Mrs. Poppy's office at the children's home. He is silent, stoic, and completely terrifying.
Christopher Hollow.
Muscled.
Six foot five.
Storm blue eyes.
Dog tags outlined under the straining stretch of his black tee-shirt.
"Lark," Mrs. Poppy says, gently, "you're happy with this arrangement? You want to go with your Godfather?"
There's no money left for her to live off until she finds a job - if she finds a job.
Her Dad is dead.
Lark doesn't have a choice.
Lark Douglas didn’t know who Christopher Hollow was when Mrs. Poppy brought his name up to her on a hot Saturday afternoon in her office. The additional details that he had served with her Dad in Afghanistan and was her appointed legal guardian and Godfather did nothing to help jog Lark’s memory.
In fact, it was a full week after Mrs. Poppy informed Lark of Christopher Hollow’s existence that the girl finally managed to scrounge up a single, short, fuzzy memory of the man.
         She was home.
The door to their flat was open, the old ceiling fan had been turning in slow circles over her head. It did nothing to fight against the mid July heat that was so stifling and muggy it made her skin stick to the linoleum floors. She had sat on the couch playing with Labrador, her stuffed toy dog, when Mom walked in with someone.
Lark was five, she thinks, and she hadn’t paid attention to anything that was being said, or looked at who had stepped the room after her mother. She only glanced up from where she was making her stuffed dog do backflips off the worn-down couch cushions when big, black boots stepped into her vision off the edge of the sofa.
The man who stood in front of her was tall, wearing camo pants and a fitted grey tee-shirt. His face was hard to remember, but Lark thought he had sandy brown hair and the start of a thick brown beard. He had crouched down, setting aside a battered black duffle bag, looking at her like he expected something.
Lark had only stared at him.
Mom’s voice had a strain in it when she spoke.
“Say hi to Chris, baby. He’s come all the way from the airport just to see you.”
The man spoke before Lark had the chance. He had a deep, rough rumbly voice.
“Don’t worry her about it, Lori. Been two years. I’d be surprised if Pet remembered me at all.”
      Pet.
That was the only memory Lark had of Christopher.
She wasn’t even sure it was real and not just something she had made up in the recesses of her mind as an unconscious effort to help herself fill in the gaps and feel less uncertain.
She had lots of memories like that.
Memories no one else could verify. Memories she wasn’t sure happened, but couldn’t shake as being real.
This was what led Lark to where she stood at the top of the worn flight of wooden stairs.  Seventeen years old, dressed in clothes that didn’t belong to her, feeling entirely unsure of what the future would hold.
Seventeen, and only three weeks and four days shy of her eighteenth birthday.
     It was ridiculous.
     Stupid, even.
Why couldn’t she just wait it out at the girl’s home?
Why was Mrs. Poppy was obligated, by law, to reach out to relatives Lark had never even heard of and negotiate with them down the phone, asking and then, after the eighth rejection, pleading with each of them to come and pick her up?
“Just a month - no, no, you wouldn’t have to commit to adoption, Mrs. Tanner - not at all. I am only reaching out because Lark is your niece, and I am sure you want the best for her -”
The list thinned, name by name. Lark saw them each time Mrs. Poppy opened the manilla envelope with her initials on it, glancing over the struck off phone numbers and feeling nothing.
    The rejections didn’t surprise her.
She knew from lived experience how reluctant people were to help a stranger.
It took less than half a week for them to reach the last one.
     His name.
     Christopher Hollow.
He was who Lark was waiting for as she hung onto the banister, her dark eyes fixed on the panes of frosted glass in the door, anticipating seeing a shadow blot across the panels when he stepped onto the porch and rang the buzzer.
     Floorboards creaked.
Lark moved too late when Mrs. Poppy stepped out of her office that stood at the side of the stairs. The stacked blonde beehive of her hair bobbing into the girl’s view as Lark tried to scurry back out of her sight.
    Too little, too late.
The kind wrinkles around Mrs. Poppy’s eyes doubled and deepened as the sound made her look upward and spot Lark.
“Lark, there you are! I was just about to come and find you, dear. Nip down into my office for a moment, I’ve got some things I want to discuss with you before Mr. Hollow arrives.”
The old stairs squeaked loudly as the girl walked sheepishly down the grossly worn-out blue carpet runner, rounding the curved banister at the bottom to follow Mrs. Poppy into her office.
It was sun warm inside, light spilling over the faded hardwood floor and shiny varnish of the big, brown desk, highlighting the dozens of ring-marks stained into its top by mugs of coffee past. Mrs. Poppy rounded the desk, having to skirt sideways between the edge of it and the rows of heavy metal file drawers that flanked the room on all sides.
Taking her perch in a black wheely chair, the woman gestured for Lark to sit in one of the two big, green, retro velvet sofas that faced her desk.
Sinking down into her seat, Lark folded her hands in her lap and looked at the woman, waiting to be spoken to. She had been thoroughly taught from a young age that she was to be seen and not heard. There had also been plenty of occasions when Lark wasn’t to be seen or heard. Those were moments when her half empty pink, princess wardrobe came in handy.
Mrs. Poppy placed a pair of up-swept cat eye spectacles on the tip of her tall, gently crooked nose, and took out a notepad. It was one of dozens she had, this particular piece of stationary sported Lark’s name on its front, written in black pen and then broadly underlined in purple marker.
“Miss Douglas today is a big one for you. How are you feeling, hon? Excited? Nervous?”
The soft slip of her southern accent calmed Lark some as she fought against the urge to fidget, keeping her fingers still in her lap.
“Excited, Ma’am. Dad didn’t like to travel much, so seeing the Appalachians sounds like a real adventure.”
Lark stuck a quick smile onto the end of her lie. She had rehearsed it in her head a hundred times since she was told the good news a week before.
        Christopher Hollow wanted her.
He was driving the whole way down the coast from his home in the Appalachian Mountains to come and collect her. Lark couldn’t even comprehend where the Appalachian Mountains stood, just that they were stupendously far away.
Mrs. Poppy grinned at Lark, genuine and radiant, as she wrote something in fast scratching cursive over and empty line of the notepad.
“Always such an optimist, Lark. I’m sure Mr. Hollow will be delighted by you.”
Lark’s left thumb twitched. When she smiled, it felt tight in the corners, “I certainly hope so, Ma’am.”
And she truly did. Lark knew the way men behaved when they weren’t delighted by her.
~R.F.M~
A fist gripped long, brown hair tightly enough to tear dozens of strands out of Lark’s scalp as she was dragged down the hallway by her head, the girl’s frame stooped almost to the floor as she clawed at the hands restraining her.
“Fucking little bitch coming to steal from me? Think you’re slick, huh?”
         In honesty, Lark did.
She had stolen from the man before on countless occasions, rummaging through the contents of his worn leather wallet, fishing out loose coins and dollar notes that wouldn’t be missed. Before, he was always too out of his mind to realize, so Lark had gotten greedy.
Twenty dollars was a lot of money to people like them. She was foolish for thinking she could snatch it away without his notice.
Lark didn’t know his name, or his age, or anything about him other than the fact he bought pot on Thursday afternoons and left the door to his apartment wide open with 90’s music playing full volume while he sat out on his balcony in a beat-up pink recliner, back to the living room, smoking.
By all accounts, the man wasn’t very smart. But he was still a man, a man much stronger than Lark.

au wherein when sj first got into the sect and went down to the brothel, he runs into a young wannabe rogue cultivator
the rogue was, well, roguish— rough, rule detesting, and flighty. handsome. brown eyes and warm cheeks, most likely a slight sunburn (because of course he doesnt have a hat). he looked around sjs age, if a bit older. more height than muscle, but with time and experience sj reckons he’d grow broader as well. the only thing that caught sj’s eye at the time though… was his terrible spending habits!
what was he doing, getting scammed out of his coins over some sword tassels of all things. atrocious!!!!!!
if theres one thing sj cannot stand and can relate with sqh, its detesting those who cannot use their money right. his shitty day adds onto his anger, so rather than leaving it alone, sj goes over to the pair of merchant and customer, scolding the merchant first and then the rogue cultivator. the rogue, new to this living out of his mansion thing (his previous life as the fourth son with too much freedom couldnt compare to now, he doesnt even have people to fall back on for funds!), decides, ‘hey, this persons nice enough to tell me i did something wrong, why not keep going to him for help?’
the rogue camps out at that town, always there to pester sj once he comes down the mountains. sometimes sj lectures him, sometimes sj scolds him, and sometimes he simply observes how sj acts around the streets and notes down whatever he gleans. it goes on for weeks, until finally the rogue (and secretly sj) feels like he can survive out there—all he needed now was experience, something he cant get with just the knowledge he now has
after that, sj expects to never see him again. when people get what they want, they leave. thats just what happens, simple as that.
but then, to sj’s astonishment, he meets the rogue again! not on accident, mind you.
“well, we’re friends now!” the rogue says, “/and/ i saw an imitation of one of your paintings at an auction and was like, ‘i should visit’”
sj immediately thinks that isn’t true. there must be something else the rogue wants from him.
and so once in a while, at least once or twice every two months, sj continues to encounter the rogue whenever he goes down the 12 peaks. each time, sj’s doubts ever so slightly melt away. and each time they meet again, they both note to themselves that the other has changed.
sj notices how the rogue comes back with a harsher tan, wider now in his frame. hes more confident and mature, more streetsmart and wise. the guy isn’t so prone to impulse, now taking the time to think before doing something. a small improvement, to be honest, since he still goes and does something foolish, just with a backup plan—though sj bets theyre made up on the spot most times (he also finally invested in a cloak— apparently he has a thing against hats? sj’ll find out one day, he’s sure)
the rogue on the other hand notices how sj comes back more refined, more otherwordly in aura. his quips and witty remarks have taken on a new level, he probably needs to go back to reading to get half of the references! he walks smoother, and each step he takes looks as light as a feather—how does he do that! (worryingly, the rogue also notices how sj always looks like he’s being weighed down, and that his walls are higher than ever before. did something happen?)
the day sj realizes the rogue is the first person to not want to take something from him, and who he’s sure wont leave, even if the time spent together is so much lesser than being spent apart, he feels…scared. anxious, as if now that he’s been made aware, the world will now make it its mission to take this one thing away from him. for the first time, instead of driving the rogue away like all the others, he feels compelled to stick as close as possible. being away from the sect is an added bonus.
the rogue likes this change, though is confused as to what brought this on. oh well, the company is nice! now he can show sj all the little things that reminded him of sj he found on his travels. like this one staff being displayed in a shop: it was such a pretty shade of green! or, or this one lake in a cave, the ripples would be nice to paint right? especially when the light from those bioluminescent vines hit the water.
sometimes they get separated on their travels, but they always find each other again. unconsciously, instances like these help heal sj’s fears.
in short the two of them go from strangers, to acquaintances, to friends (in the distant future lovers AAAAA)
sidenote: rogue guy is like, similar to lqg in how he goes about his morals. hes a do good, think about it later, type of guy. while lqg’s a do good, DONT think about it ever, type of guy.
he got disowned by his family because he exposed them for selling counterfeits, tax evasion, import and export of illegal items etcetc to the authorities. while he doesnt regret doing the right thing, he does regret doing it loudly and without a plan. the family members he knew were innocent, who he didnt at least warn beforehand so that they can get away/cut ties before all of it goes to shit, were and will continue to be shamed by everyone they come across for the crimes the rest of the family committed

Okay, this is my headcanon! But I think Leon needs a REGULAR civilian girl. I have nothing against Ada (I love that woman) but with Leon you can hit me a dozen times, I can't see her. Their relationship, in my understanding, is toxic. Leon is clearly tired of playing cat and mouse with Ada.
So, my main (and favorite) headcanon is that Leon's partner is still younger than him, and is a student at the College of Arts and Culture. Perhaps she knows how to play the piano or some ancient instrument (the lute? guitars are for wimps). If she knows how to shoot or Leon himself taught her this. Of course, she does not carry a gun with her, but a gas spray must be! Leon will remind her several times to keep it in her jacket pocket.
Her gun always pulls a bit to the left. But in reality it is not, she just shoots askew. But playfully blames Leon.
Leon teaches her how to properly hold a weapon, reload it, but sincerely hopes that this will never come in handy for her. (Besides, I'm just sure that Leon will definitely praise her if she hits the target. It can be nice words or a gentle kiss on the back of the head).
Fluffy Leon. He is very gentle with her, flirts a lot, sometimes even too much. Sometimes he says various smut, only to deliberately embarrass her. But he likes it when she starts to play along, although he likes reddening cheeks from embarrassment more. And no, Leon will not tell her about his work until the last. He does not want to endanger a dear person. Relations with him are also not easy, because Leon is a very reserved person: he is ready to lend a helping hand, but hates to accept it. So it's hard to know what's on his mind. And all if you knock on his "shell" a little, I'm sure that Mr. Kennedy would allow himself to be comforted by insignificant signs of attention. In addition, it certainly relaxes him, as his beloved talks about some historical person.
“Do you know Anne Boleyn? I recently read Alison Weir, "Anne Boleyn, a king’s obsession. Henry VII is just a big pig! He wanted a son, but in the end, his daughter became the Great Queen anyway! He didn't deserve any of his wives."
Leon is unlikely to listen carefully if he has just returned from a mission. Most of the time he will disappear into the bar emptying the stocks of whiskey, but if his mental state is stable, then he is really interested, but not always...
She is literally his sunshine! Unfortunately, when Leon is drunk, he can rudely push away (not physically. Raising a hand to his beloved is beyond impossible for him). He will definitely apologize the next morning, but will feel like a bastard for having snapped at his love. Even if she forgives him.
Tries to fix a mistake. A gift or help around the house... Leon understands that it's hard with him, understands that she can find another good guy, and he will let her go without problems, considering himself not the best option for her. Yes, it will hurt him, but if it's for the best, he'll understand. True, leaving him will be accompanied by another hard drinking.
"I don’t want to leave, but I don’t understand what is happening to you! You are very dear to me, it hurts me to see that you are ruining yourself, Leon!"
The words that at least someone needs him, not as a federal agent, but as a person will break him. Leon would hug her, bury his nose in the crook of her neck, and most likely let himself cry. He's fucking tired of B.O.O, he's always dreamed of having a family and helping people as a cop! His life shouldn't be like this!
Their sex balances on the verge of tenderness and rudeness. I don't think Leon has a fetish for choking, for example. He can grab him by the neck, but he won't squeeze. Suddenly he miscalculates his strength and causes harm ... nevertheless, he still dominates, although Leon is a giver, so he will make sure that his partner gets the highest pleasure from making love to him.
The agent reacts quite calmly when his girlfriend puts her leg on his hip. True, he doesn't like it when she takes up the entire bed, trying to push Kennedy to the floor in his sleep. Sometimes she can be very active in this.
He's fought B.O.O., zombies, and more, but he doesn't always manage to stay on his bed at night. Because this woman prefers to take everything.
The couch is also comfortable.
"Why were you sleeping on the couch?
Leon will come up with some kind of go-ahead, but will not tell the truth
Nothing strange, just a man with the last name of the president lost a bed to his girlfriend.
I think because of the age difference, Leon is afraid to marry his girlfriend. To be more precise, he is afraid that she will become a target for his enemies. If something happened to her through his fault, he would never forgive himself for it. And let the D.S.O shove all the programs to protect the relatives of their agents up their ass (I hope they have such)
If an outbreak of a new virus occurs again, Leon will climb even to hell for his beloved. He's already protected Ashley from the ganado and Las Plagas, so keeping his beloved safe from the new stuff will be a priority for him. Leon is trained to deal with this, but she is not, but this does not mean that she will not hit the zombies with a tire iron or a bat in order to protect herself, but once again she will not stick out from behind Leon's back. But she may have to take a few shots, which is unlikely to kill the zombies.
"You have to shoot right in the head."
"This is my friend! You SHOT my friend! He... he... I could..."
"He's not human anymore."
"HE WAS MY FRIEND! Who gave you the right to kill people?!"
Yeap, she fired first, but...Leon realizes it's just a shock. He didn't tell her anything about where he actually works, so her fear is entirely justified. The gun she found will be in his holster, and he will carefully make his way with her through this shit to leave her in a safe place.
Hit a zombie in the head with a tire iron when he wants to attack Leon from behind? She has courage. Maybe she's not a spy like Ada; she doesn't look like Helena or Claire, but she tries her best to hold on even if she has nightmares afterwards.
Some riddles can be solved faster than Leon. Need to quote Kafka or remember an important historical date? Next to Leon is a walking encyclopedia. Play a couple of chords? Problematic, but not critical.
She is his sunlight... or the light from a flashlight. Leon's lantern broke, so...
"Please don't shine in my eyes, baby." "I'm Sorry."
Leon will have to say goodbye to his leather jacket, but it's a joke, he'll give it to her himself.
They will walk this path together. Most likely, Leon will leave her in a safe place, thinking that she does not need a relationship with him. Most importantly, he saved her life.
-Hey, Mr. John Wick, - Leon turned around in confusion at a face stained with someone else's blood, where a tired smile bloomed. - Will you teach me how to suplex when you get back?
-Better we just take a hot shower together.
- I don't think I'll be going back to college any time soon, so I'll wait for you to come back. And I'm sorry about what I said to you on campus. I probably wouldn't have survived without you. Damn, I'd be torn to pieces.
- I understand.
- We'll talk calmly when it's over, right? I probably didn't know much about you. Will this end, Leon?
- Sure.
He'll be back, really. When he finishes off another bastard who has arranged a new outbreak of the virus.

Obedience Is Hard to Come By
Pairing: Yandere Butler x Female!Reader
Word count: 577
Content Warning(s): Possessive behavior, age gap, brat taming, spanking
A/N: This is a short drabble I had rattling around in my head because I absolutely love the idea of butlers disciplining a bratty princess 😍 Next, I'll prolly upload some misc. yandere HC's!
Tumblr media
Your duties as a princess were not too abstruse, nor were they necessarily hard to fulfill. That didn’t make them easy, however. Oh no, they were far from simple, you soon came to realize. Or rather, your loyal and extremely uptight butler did his very best to remind you just how demanding being a good little princess was each night you returned to your chambers.
“Your posture during dinner was utterly abhorrent, my lady.” The sneer was evident in Alistair’s tone, even if you couldn’t see his middle-aged face, graced with sharp features, a strong, clean jawline, and wrinkles decorating the undersides of his steely green eyes.
For a man who currently had you laid out over his knee, nightgown bunched around your midsection, and wrists tied at the small of your back, he definitely didn’t act like it. That was the kind of man Alistair was, after all — someone who could maintain his composure in most cases. Well, unless that case involved you openly grinding against him like you did after breakfast earlier in the day.
You had a feeling that your posture wasn’t the only thing compelling him to punish you now...
“And in the presence of a potential suitor... Tsk, you know better, I’ve taught you better than that.”
Ah.
Now that you took the time to recall the dinner with the supposed suitor, you should have guessed that it would’ve upset Alistair. After all, your butler wasn’t exactly the sharing type, nor did he ever intend to give you up to anyone. As far as every suitor was concerned, he would find some excuse, some reason to urge your father, the king, to reconsider.
He trusted Alistair’s judgment, as did you, but you did have to admit that it was only a little astounding that all of your suitors so far have had dirt dug up on them, effectively ruining their potential to be your husband.
You wouldn’t go as far as to say that Alistair was planting evidence, of course — but that didn’t stop you from wondering if your butler was actually a lot more influential than he initially let on...
“Are you spacing out on me, princess?” The velvety baritone of his voice brought you back to reality as you turned your head to glance at him over your shoulder with a wry smile gracing your features.
“Not at all, Alistair~ I’m taking this punishment very seriously, can’t you tell?” The brattiness in you was beginning to rise to the placid surface once more, creating ripples and prompting Alistair’s patience to wear thin.
His reply to your smarmy remark came in the form of his gloved hand swatting at your exposed rear, hard, the impact creating a loud and resounding “smack”. You squealed indignantly, startled but not surprised that he’d spanked you.
Alistair did it often, after all, since your brattiness knew no bounds more often than not. Still, part of you couldn’t deny that you did enjoy the punishment just a tiny bit.
“I know what you’re thinking, princess—and no, I do not intend to leave this room until you have learned your lesson,” Alistair’s hand was still resting on your ass, which was already beginning to thrum with pain, even after one hit. “Count them.”
Even though you were certain you would be ending up in the same position again sometime in the near future, it was nice to pretend to be good and obedient… For the time being.

----
The daylights were in full swing, the radio was high and bright as he drove down the road to a old house he used to call home. At the steps of the house stood a man he hasn't seen in the late 80s but never forgotten.
Above the steps stood the man with dark rich blonde curls spiked in a nicely manner, a blue colored shirt and black James Dean jeans wearing a pair of shades himself. He sipping on a cup of coffee with a half smile to boot.
He parked the car in the east side of the parkway as he existed the vehicle, flipping the keys in hand and removed his sunglasses with a smile.
As he took towards the step he heard the man said, "Hank."
"JJ." He replied, as he was handed a cup of warm coffee.
"What was the reason for this visit?"
"You got my email didn't you?"
"Yup."
"You missed seeing Hope."
"It was an 8 hour drive! You know how hard it was to get out of that house without Felton and Rei breathing down my neck?"
"This is why I stopped babysitting."
The blonde just playfully glared following the older one into his old home. Jason hasn't been in this house of his in more than a century, having took time to take care of his older one in Malibu. Yet, he never had the heart to throw away the keys, so instead he gave them to Hank. And by god, was he glad he did.
His old home was kept nice and cleaned, some mess here and there. A few dust particles in certain smaller areas but other than that it was fine. Keeping its cozy yet vintage style. Hank sat down on the grey couch that used to be a dark brown, sipping his second morning coffee taking in the moment of peace. Jason sat in the armchair beside him closing his eyes.
Neither man had to say a word to know that they missed the peace and quiet this house brought. No screaming children, calls from SHIELD, nor nagging neighbors trying to get you to babysit their dumb dog for the weekend. Just a moment of total silence from the world around them.
Yes, truth be told, after 1989 Hank was never seen again towards SHIELD's main offices due to his stupid fallout with Howard and the others. But he often kept in touch with people like him or Peggy, whenever possible. Mainly because Hope wanted to see her aunts and uncles, and after Janet's passing Hank couldn't deprive his daughter from not having any closer family or friends around.
Jason tended to be his go-to person whenever he needed a quick babysitter for Hope, whenever the blonde was in town and he happily said yes. He first thought Hank would want nothing to do with him after what Howard pulled on the man, but after a small debate on that very day both men realized they couldn't hold grudges against each other.
They already had too many grudges over their heads to even count, why add another? It would only lead to a bigger headache anyways.
So over the years, Hank and Jason would put aside a small time to check in on one another. Make sure the other man wasn't dead yet. It was a running joke on who would die first out of the two. But at this rate, knowing the people in their lives, they won't let them get bury in the ground so easily.
Yet.
He peaked an eye open as he rested his head and asked, "JJ? You got what I sent you?"
The others eyes were still closed as he hummed, "Yeah. I sent the small package and if I'm correct, it will be brought though word of mouth soon enough."
"Good. I hope this guys is worth it. If he's smart enough, he will do as I planned."
"Why Scott Lang anyway? I gave you a list of people you can choose from and you chose him..."
"Scott Lang broke into Vistacorp Headquarters to pay back the money VistaCorp had been stealing from their users, before he brought into prison. Heard of it?"
"Yeah, he pulled strong a stunt risking to pay back all that money they took. According to the file, he has a master degree in electrical engineering, which gave him the skills to hack into their grid."
Hank smirked, "That's why I need him. He has a special set of skills as a hacker and thief. I want to test him, see if he's able to play the game right."
"If he can break into the lock and steal the suit, then he was a right fit." Jason added with a grin, "..he also has a daughter Hank. You know better than anyone the length you would go to see your kid. Chances are, he ends up in jail again."
"He won't."
"Hank."
"I have a plan. Trust me on this one."
"And I'll be here to say 'I told you so' when it goes sideways."
The two crack a chuckle knowing it was bound to happen whether they liked it or not. But if the plan does end up going sideways, they always had other ways of doing things. Even if it meant going undercover to bait Scott Lang into the older man's plan. Both spent the rest of the day catching up, watching some tv and grabbing a bite to eat.
None of the Young Avengers knew that Jason was gone for a short couple of days. Well, some of them noticed as he has been receiving calls from a few thought the day. Mainly ones from Rei, Liane, Rochelle, Ji-Hoon, Lydia and even Wanda. Hank commented how he was still amazed he hasn't lost his head yet.
"Who said I haven't?" Jason joked with a small chuckle.
"Who's watching them?" He asked in returning smiling.
"Elizabeth, Nat and Bruce. I hope."
"Oh dear god. Now, I gotta know, who's the hardest to watch over?"
"Depends on the day. Rei is the easiest at most, Rochelle is rather shy and hangs out with her friends..but Liane.."
"Felton's what? Oh. You can't lie to me, and not say Rei Stark doesn't turn your gears one bit."
"Rei does make me question my life choices, but I love him to death. Felton, she is a handful and a total bitch at times. It's why I always hand her off to Hill to taken care of. I need my silence."
That caused Hank to snort and laugh. He knew the man was too polite to say anything to harsh per say, not knowing who's around to hear him but if possible he will let a rip.
"Now that's the Jason I know, call it how it is!" He shouted as he tossed a chip into his mouth, "Half of them ain't even your kids."
The blonde smirked nodding, knowing the grey man's words to be truth. There are good couple of them aren't his legally or even raised them from childhood, but a part of him does care. Even if he wants to shut up half the time.
Hell, even the ants joined in on the fun. They are 247 of them after all, the ants were bound to make their appearance in carrying items around and or, helping them with alerting any incoming news on the heist they were waiting to happen.
--------
------------
Later on, that very night they went to the basement as they turned on the lights to reveal a high tech level of security cameras, microphones and chairs laying around. It was linked up to whatever humanity possible can find, in this case, the ants.
They watched Scott break into his house, as Hank seemed impressed by his work giving Jason a couple of approved nods, as they kept rolling the tape. The handy work, the levels of patience and precision Scott Lang had was amazing. His quick thinking and ways he moved around the area at quick speed was something he could only imagine to do when he was back in the 40s. Hank used to think and move that fast in the late 80s. More or less.
Without a better matter of minutes he took the suit and ran. They spend the better part of the next day, watching Scott and see what he would do.
That he was expandable. And that he was. Jason chocked out a laugh at how freaked out he was as Hank talked into the coms. Sadly of course, the moment he returned the suit, he was caught red handed by the cops.
It was Hope's doing. She didn't know much about the man or the fact that he had a track record he was trying to maintain. Which led Hank to toss a pair of suits over to Jason, telling him it's time to lawyer up, as the man rolled his eyes at his friend.
Once they were in the prison, Scott Lang was brought into a room confused more the most part, not understanding who they were. He didn't know about the fact that he had a lawyer watching after him. They told him second chances don't always come easily, especially for men like him, next time he gets one, he should take a closer look onto what it is. And he's smart enough, he will listen to them.
Thankfully he did, as Hank ordered the ants to get Scott escape the jail cell and be brought home that night. However the man got dizzy and past out, resulting him to be knocked out cold in one the guest bedrooms of the house.
Hank's house, since he had more tech and landscape to work around than Jason did. As they waited for him to wake up, the blonde went out grab some more supplies and food. He was hungry.
When he returned home with the items needed, entering quietly through the front door he heard it. Hope was here. He should've known she would've made an appearance at some point.
Tumblr media
"Please tell me you didn't call JJ." She said looking at her father with her arms crossed.
"I didn't call JJ." Her father responded with a sigh, trying to enjoy his tea.
"He is busy right now."
"I didn't call him."
She pointed to the brown leather jacket that was on the chair beside her. The one she gave the blonde years ago for a birthday present when she was in high school. Her father said he was borrowing it from the man's closet when he went to check on his home.
"You liar. Like always. Just say that you did." Hope remarked.
Hank groaned, "I emailed him."
"You tipped him. Dragging his ass here, for what? I can handle the mission myself!"
"No, you can't! He needed one-"
"You never listen to me!"
"Hope!"
She looked over her shoulder at face the voice who called out her name like an old memory. Only to find her uncle standing there with a stern look on his face, his usual cheeky grin was exchanged for a pair of lined smile and frustrated eyes that glared into her soul. He made her feel like a child again, getting in trouble for yelling at her father or running away from school grounds to play with her friends.
She looked down, feeling less than, muttering a soft 'sorry' in his direction as he simply nodded. He shook his head and sighed at his niece. He hated seeing them fight, he knew they had their reasons but she walked away a long time ago, just to prove a point to her father that she was worth it. And she already was.
"I didn't know..I uh, would've liked a heads up that you were coming..." She admitted for being silent for a moment.
He placed the bag of groceries on the table as he gave her a small half smile, "I know..but I knew you would've said otherwise and convince me to stay home."
"You don't have to be here. I can handle this."
"I know. But I'm here now, it's not like I'm going to waste a long drive just to be stuck at home listening to ABBA on the radio."
"Still. You should've-"
"Hope. Just don't. What's done is done. I came at my own risk and I won't be staying long, just to make sure a few things are in check."
"..I uh, I missed you."
"I did too."
She pulled her arms out to be taking in by his embrace. The warmth of his hugs always felt like a nice blanket as he wrapped her arms around him and kissed her forehead. She rested her head against his shoulder having another moment of silence to relax, sending a small glare to her father. She chuckled hearing her uncle brought her favorite ice cream from Basin Robins to help ease the tension, causing a tiny grunt from Hank. Her uncle smirked and told her to get Scott as she pulled away with a small smile.
When Hope walked out, he turned around to see his old friend sending daggers swords him. Jason just shrugged, "What?"
"You can't win her over with ice cream and hugs." He remarked.
"Yes I can. That's my job as the uncle. Make you look bad, so you want to work harder for her affection."
"That's not how it's supposed to work."
"That's exactly how it's supposed to work."
Soon enough, Scott and Hope joined them in the dinning room, as they talked trying to explain the situation to the confused brunette. Hope and Hank bricked as they did, as Jason tried to defuse the issue at hand introducing the trio. Scott listened along, trying to piece together everything they said, hearing how they were impressed with his work as well. He was offered some sugar, watching the ants push it around.
"H-how do you make them do that?" Scott asked pointing to the said ants, watching one climb onto Jason's finger with ease.
"Ants can lift objects 50 times their size. They can build farms. Corporate with each other." Hank explained.
"Right. But how do you make them do that?"
"I used electromagnetic waves to stimulate their factor's nerves center using a device. I speak to the Ants. I can go anywhere, see everything and hear everything."
"And still know absolutely nothing. I'm late for a meeting." Hope injects with a clear tone, pressing a kiss to her uncles cheek and a nod to her father.
"Be safe!" Jason calls out with a half smile, sipping his tea.
"Always am!"
With that she walks out. Scott raised an hand asking who the hell they are, what the hell is going on and if he could back to jail. Jason rolled his eyes telling both men to follow him.
Tumblr media
They walked and talked heading down to the basement to reveal a small headquarters as Scott looked around in awe. Hank explained the suit and his role in this as Jason finished setting up a few things adding in a jab or two as he went along.
"Pym tech? SHIELD?" Scott said muttering under his breathe as he followed their voices.
"Darren Cross had heard rumors around the Pym Particles. Something that both companies tried to keep under lock and key, with only a few knowing it existed." Jason explained.
"And he became obsessed with recreating my formula." Hank continued to explain holding a vial of Pym particles, "But I wouldn't help. So he partially voted me out of my own company. Hope was chairmen of the board, so that helped. But she came back to me when she saw how close he was with his process. But without a suit, the brain isn't protected."
"Causing a fiery sensational effect that can make the brain unstable. And Cross hasn't realized that part yet. So with our luck, he'll die."
"Be nice, JJ. Cross isn't the most stable guy to begin with."
Scott listen then asked, "So what do you want from me?"
Both men exchange a look as Hank walked over to Scott Lang and told him he believed in second chances for everyone. A redemption. Saying that if he does that, he can start a new path and get some insight wiped off his records. Scott looked pleased declaring that he will go along with the plan of theirs. Within a couple of hours, they all got to work.
Scott began to start training how to use the suit, understanding the plan and communicating with the idea on how to get into the building. He got learn about the concept of the ants and their behavior in the process of the world. Hope and Jason offered to teach Scott some fighting techniques to help him later on. Hope smirked getting a good swing at Scott punching him hard enough he fell backwards, as Jason snorted at their dynamic play between the tackles to the ground.
———-
—————
It got to a certain point where Scott was given the opportunity to learn how to control the ants. Hank acted as director for him, telling him to focus having faith that he can do it. Scott tried but it didn’t work. Hope groan annoyed telling him how he needed to commit to communicating with them, he has to mean it. The father daughter duo, once again began to argue over the subject. Jason reminded them on how the focus should be on helping Scott with the trails.
“Really? That’s where our focus should be?” Hope said, taking the device used for the ants and held it close to her ear controlling to do more than just add sugar to the tea. She caused to room to darken as the ants blocked out the lights, Hank caught her before she can act by further. Her voice broke as she muttered a few words at her father and sighed before exiting the room.
Hank knew he couldn’t do it without her. Since day one she has requested to be put in the suit, do the trails and get the mission accomplished herself, but her father refused every request she made. Jason knew the reason why. Scott noticed the problem being a father himself and went out to talk to her, hoping to knock some sense into Hope and have her see behind the act.
The two were alone in the house, standing in awkward silence as the moment of Hope’s departure replayed in their heads. Hank walked around the first floor, fumbling with a small piece of dice he found in the living room as Jason watched from the window the car sitting in the driveway with the two figures talking inside.
He broke the silence with a scoff, biting in the inside of his cheek as he said, “You have to tell her.”
“No.” He muttered in response, knowing exactly what he meant by those words.
“If you want her on your side, you have to break the ice here. She knows Janet didn’t die cause of some accident involving a plane. I know it’s painful for you, Hank, but she deserves to know.”
“Like you told Stark about his parents death.”
That silence Jason quicker than expected. He remembered how Howard and Maria died, when he was at his lowest moments during the holiday season. He told Tony what he knew and what he only could’ve revealed of that painful memory, going as far as to show him the photographs he dug up a few days later from news reports. Hank might’ve had a falling out with Howard but he was at the damn funeral for a short period of time before returning home.
Hank knew he hit a nerve and continued, “You couldn’t even wrap your head around fact that you lost them. Worse, telling a child their mother died and they never had the chance to say goodbye. I lost Janet that day because of my misfortunes during the mission.”
“I know, I heard the story. I can only imagine how you felt when it happened, when she shrunk down to that size..” Jason added trying to find his voice again.
“Please, don’t remind me, Jason, she went sub-atomic...”
“And you tried to get her back by studying for weeks on an answer to get her back”
“I made a mistake letting her come with me..I was stupid enough to let that happen..you know how hard it is for me just to relive that experience again…Hope might hate me when she finds out..”
“I know, she might but she will forgive you…Hank..you and I have made a lot mistakes in the past 3 decades. We made decisions that we aren’t proud of..thinking we are protecting them from harm..”
“That’s the whole point! That’s our job, to keep them safe and not be heartbroken by the truth. You only gave Stark the benefit of the doubt about his parents death and how it affected the outcome, you said he hated the world for it..I can’t tell her..we have secrets for a reason..”
“Yeah well, Tony could care less about his father…How about you only tell her what you can? When the time comes where she asks for more, you go into more detail about what happened. You are driving her away now…I know you hate the looks she gives you. You said it yourself..”
There was an unspoken number of casualties among those accidents that occurred during the death of their loved ones. Only so much information, they kept closed to their chest to prevent others suffering in those moments. The amount of consequences to their loved ones being gone felt like a huge blow to the head and stuffed around in secret.
Hank knew that, especially with the fact that his very friend lost more than he can chew.
He felt sorry for bringing it up, but it just didn’t occur to him the words would impact that hard. Hell, the memories of his wife were still so fresh in his brain like it was yesterday.
Hank ran a couple of fingers cross his hair muttering, “Sorry for bringing that up. It’s just…”
“I know..I know. But you do need to let her know what happened that day.” Jason responded taking a breath to regain himself.
That was when Hope and Scott returned from the car, about to say something but was cut off by Hank’s statement. He had a hand against the fireplace beforehand turning around to face the two of them, to face his daughter with the truthful remarks she desires to know. He slowly but surely explained what he could to his daughter onto what happened to her mother as her voice broke mumbling a few questions.
He did in best to answer them. It hurt to talk about it, as it felt like he was reliving the same day all over again. She wanted to know more but her thoughts didn’t seem to allow her to think straight as she teared up even more. Hank just told her in the end he lost her mother, he didn’t mean to lose his daughter too.
Scott ruined the moment with a quippy response that caused Jason to roll his eyes, telling him to go make some tea. Afterwards the four of them got back to work on training Scott and working with the plans they had in motion.
———-
At some point, Jason went upstairs to get something to eat and suddenly got another set of calls. He sighed deeply knowing they must've been from Liane or Rei, he ignored knowing it was probably something they could've handle themselves. They had to learn how to get along and figure out solutions to things without an actual adult fixing it entirely for them.
With a deep sigh he answered, “Hello?”
“Jason! Aha we might got an issue at the compound—dude shut up!” Said the voice that clearly belonged to Liane.
“Okay, who burnt the toaster again? Wait why are you at The Compound anyway? Your supposed to be at The Tower..”
“The adults went out on a small scale meeting, so we were left alone. Long story short, we had an incident at The Tower and decided to visit The Compound for breakfast instead—Ughhh Rei be quiet! Rick calm it’s gonna be fine—I was saying, we came here and Sam made us breakfast…and then..”
“Then what? Liane spit it out or put Rei on the phone.”
“Then we saw an issue and Sam told us to stay inside.”
Just as Liane and Rei’s voices were heard, along with the other members in the background, Jason was called downstairs by Hank to check on something. And let’s just say, he wanted to punch the older man for his actions. From the panels on the screen, shots of Scott fighting The Falcon to get inside Avengers Compound. Hope half smiled, annoyed and confused by Scott’s actions.
Tumblr media
It was honestly hilarious yet stressful.
He put the phone call on mute as he whispered, “Hank, what the hell?! You said that the item you were looking for was at an old building, not Avengers Compound!”
“I didn’t know that it was remodeled after all this time! You could’ve said something.” Hank remarked looking up at the blonde from his seat.
“You weren’t speaking of the specifics either! Oh god..Scott better get out of there.”
“He’ll be fine. Besides he’s fighting an Avenger, this can be taken as part of his training for the next assignment. What are you worried about?”
“Half of the other avengers are inside the building now and they’re a little terrified.”
Hope said an eyebrow confused onto what her uncle meant until she heard the voices over the phone and almost immediately laughed at the sound.
She couldn’t make out the voices very well but one caught her ears as she asked, “Is that Felton? Since when is she freaked out over something like this, isn’t she an Avenger?”
Jason just shrugged at this point and responded, “It’s a great mystery to all of this. And yes that was her. I can already picture Rei’s annoyed expressions. Whatever we do, we just have to get Scott out there and fast.”
“Or they might call the other heroes for assistance. Damn it.”
“Days like this, I wish my retirement plan was completely different.”
“You can always come stay with me instead. Wait, I’m still in the Will right?”
He winked at her meaning a clear ‘yes you are, honey.’ As they both returned their focus back onto the screen watching Hank navigate Scott across the field to fight Falcon, suddenly they lost visual contact with him as the ants couldn’t see what was happening inside. It went silent as the only sound came from the cell phone in Jason’s hand.
He raised the phone up his ear to respond, “Whatever happens stay instead. I’ll be there in a couple of hours to check up on—”
“About time you picked up the damn phone!” Yelled the voice that belonged to his first godson.
“Rei?! What happened to Liane?”
“I took it off her hands, she went to help calm Rick and the others down or whatever. I really don’t care. Do I have permission to take her down Felton and shut off the systems?”
“Permission granted—wait, hold off on shutting down the systems for a few minutes and then reboot The Compound.”
“Does that mean I’m in charge of everything?”
“Does it mean the house won’t be fire when I come over to check on you guys?”
“Yes sir.”
“Then you’re in charge. And please get a hold of an adult!”
The phone called ended with Rei’s voice being heard over the speaker as you can imagine the others not sounding too pleased about the news. Jason just smirked already picturing their faces as he watched the panels of Scott escaping and Falcon on the floor. Him and Hank fist bump at the process of the mission turning out decently well.
He knew Hank was gonna have a talk with Scott on his actions and how he handled it, but Jason knew based on the files that Scott must’ve gotten the item needed for the job.
And he was right.
Hope was very impressed with what he did as her father sighed in relief at the assignment being completed. Scott Lang had skills and knowledge to be used on a battlefield one day, possibly even a hero. The four of them talked about upcoming events that were set in motion as Jason texted his nephew for updates on the situation from earlier as it seemed like things have calmed down over there.
He will need to drive over there to check up on them later.
As of now, all he knew is that the four of them were headed into a very dangerous environment within the incoming hours. Especially after Darren Cross’s appearance at the household, assuming he was just speaking with Hank Pym, as the others were silently standing in the kitchen.
The next couple of hours were gonna be a wild ride.

‘Hey Danny,’ Y/N said as she stepped in the front door. She was drenched and given the sound of the rain pounding the street outside it was no wonder why. ‘No bother,’ Danny said helping her out of her long coat so he could hang it up, ‘I’m only due to leave in five minutes anyway.’ ‘Actually, I think you should leave now. I only live 10 minutes away and it took me half an hour to get here the weather’s that bad,’ Y/N said. ‘Are you sure? I mean Jesse’s not home yet it’ll just be you and the kids,’ Danny said. ‘You know I can look after the kids without Jess right?’ Y/N chuckled causing Danny to look at her rather sheepish. ‘Actually, it’s not just my kids,’ Danny said. ‘It’s not? How many are there?’ Y/N said now worried. ‘Oh, only one more. Michelle’s friend Cody from down the street. And Steph and DJ are out for the night so don’t be too worried,’ Danny said. ‘Phew,’ Y/N said. ‘Yeah it’s funny actually,’ Danny said as he started to don his coat, ‘once Michelle found out it was you and Jess babysitting tonight she practically insisted on having her friend round.’ ‘I hope they’re not planning on running amuck,’ Y/N giggled, ‘you know how much of a pushover Jess is when it comes to her.’ ‘Well, that’s why I made sure you were included. He listens to you,’ Danny said. ‘If you think he’ll take my side over his lil munchkin you’re mistaken pal,’ Y/N said just as Michelle and Cody came through from the kitchen.
‘Hi Y/N,’ Michelle said with a smile. ‘Hey guys,’ Y/N replied with a smile as Michelle took a seat on the couch. Cody waved at the woman and then took a seat beside Michelle the two of them instantly knitting their heads together in hushed whispers. ‘Now listen you two I want you to be good tonight,’ Danny said. ‘We will,’ Michelle said. ‘And just because you’re being babysat tonight doesn’t mean the rules are any different,’ Danny reiterated. ‘We know,’ Michelle said. ‘And be nice to Y/N,’ Danny finished. ‘We will,’ Cody said looking at Y/N with a small smile. ‘They know,’ Y/N said, ‘come on you make a move or you will be late.’
Y/N shepherded Danny to the door as he put his coat on in a hurry. He was still rambling as Y/N pushed him out the door. She turned to look at the two young ones on the couch with a smile and said, ‘right who wants to order a pizza?’
The night was going swimmingly. The kids had wanted to watch a movie and eat pizza so Y/N had ordered and they had all curled up on the sofa with the sounds only the sounds of Disney and the rain outside. Michelle had told her all about her day at school. She loved Michelle. Out of all of Jesse’s, her boyfriend, family the littlest Tanner had been the one she was most afraid to meet. But since they had met many months ago the pair of them had been great friends. Michelle had taken a minute to come around to her but eventually, they had both realised that anyone who loved Jesse as much as they did couldn’t be too bad. Cody on the other hand hadn’t said much. Instead spent his time sitting beside Y/N watching her quietly with a smile.
As the credits rolled on the Little Mermaid Y/N sat up properly and stretched reaching out for the plates and the empty pizza boxes on the coffee table. ‘Right,’ Y/N said, ‘you two put something on the TV whilst I clean this place up okay?’
As she stood up and walked to the kitchen Michelle launched herself onto the floor and started chattering away, reaming off TV shows for Cody to choose from. Y/N walked into the kitchen and placed everything on the side as she walked to the fridge. She opened it looking for something to satiate her sweet tooth. As her eyes roved over its contents she felt a pair of arms come around her.
‘Hey,’ Y/N murmured recognising that touch in an instant. ‘Hey,’ Jesse said kissing her neck as his arms squeeze her middle tightly. ‘What time do you call this?’ she said turning around and raising a questioning eyebrow at him. His blue eyes twinkled as he smiled at her. ‘Later than I planned but they needed me at the club,’ he said leaning in to kiss her on the lips, ‘can you forgive me?’ ‘I don’t know,’ she said kissing him back, ‘kiss me again and I’ll start thinking about it?’
Jesse chuckled as their lips met again. Y/N’s arms wrapped around his back her fingers running through his hair as if it was a reflex. Jesse pulled her closer as the two of them got lost in the kiss. Suddenly, reality crashed around them as they heard the sound of a glass being put on the counter.
‘Gross,’ Michelle said as she put her cup down. She and Cody were standing in the kitchen both watching the couple with horrified looks. ‘Hey munchkin,’ Jesse said immediately swinging out of boyfriend and into Uncle mode as he ran over and gave her a hug. She hugged him quickly as Y/N quickly sorted out the debris she had left on the counter feeling red in the face. As she did she noticed Cody watching her with a pout.
‘Uncle Jesse, can we watch who framed Roger Rabbit?’ Michelle said. ‘Sure munchkin,’ Jesse said. ‘I don’t know Jess,’ Y/N said, ‘it’s getting late. I said we should watch TV not another film.’ ‘Please uncle Jesse,’ Michelle said with a pout. Jesse looked between his girlfriend and his niece who were both watching him carefully. ‘How about we watch one more film and then straight to bed? But you gotta promise you’ll go straight to bed okay?’ Jesse said. Michelle punched the air and agreed running back into the other room to set up dragging Cody behind her.
‘Don’t say anything,’ Jesse said as Y/N came to him shaking her head. ‘I wasn’t going to,’ she said as she grabbed hold of his elbow pulling him towards the living room, ‘but I better hold on to you, you know just in case you hit the deck from being such a pushover.’ ‘I am not a pushover,’ Jesse said as they entered the living room where Michelle had already got the titles rolling.
‘Sure you’re not,’ Y/N said. She stopped in her tracks as they reached the couch as she spotted that Cody and Michelle were sitting in the middle of the couch leaving no room for the adults to sit together. Y/N leaned back towards Jesse who had now stopped behind her and whispered, ‘how about you get them to move then?’ ‘Hey guys how about-’ Jesse started though Cody cut him off. ‘You can sit here,’ Cody said patting the seat beside him. ‘Actually buddy-’ Jesse said. ‘Sit down uncle Jesse you’re blocking the TV!’ Michelle said. Y/N chuckled as she sat down next to the younger man, ‘thank you, Cody.’
As Y/N settled down on the opposite side of the couch to her boyfriend she heard a yelp and watched as Jesse leapt up off of the couch spinning around frantically as Cody and Michelle burst into giggles. ‘What’s the matter?’ Y/N said as Jesse started looking at the seat of his pants which was now covered in pizza stains. ‘I sat in pizza!’ Jesse grumbled, ‘and these are my best jeans.’ ‘Just take them off and I’ll throw them in the washer.’
Jesse nodded and headed back to the kitchen Y/N in tow. Once they had disappeared out of sight Michelle and Cody leapt up off the couch and ran to the door making sure the adults were distracted.
‘You’re right,’ Michelle giggled, ‘that was funny.’ ‘I told you,’ Cody said. ‘What else can we do?’ she said. ‘I have an idea,’ Cody whispered. And then the two of them got to work.
‘Right,’ Y/N said coming back into the living room, ‘where were we?’ She came and sat back down next to the kids who were now giggling to one another, ‘what are you two laughing at?’ ‘The movie,’ the pair said in unison. Y/N eyed them suspiciously but accepted their story as she sat back to watch the film.
A couple of minutes later she heard Jesse coming onto the landing. She turned her head to look at him, now dressed in sweatpants, and smiled as he started to descend the stairway but as soon as he was there he was gone. He clattered down the stairs hitting everyone on the way down before landing at the bottom of the stairs in a heap.
‘Damn it,’ Jesse said as he lay at the bottom of the stairs. ‘What the hell happened?’ Y/N said as she rushed to his side. Michelle and Cody climbed up on the couch to look over in fits of giggling. ‘This damn thing,’ Jesse said as he fished a roller skate out from behind him. ‘Are you okay?’ Y/N said helping him up. ‘Yeah,’ he grumbled, ‘knock it off you two.’ ‘But it was funny uncle Jesse!’ Michelle said. ‘She’s not wrong,’ Y/N said earning a scowl from her other half, ‘I’m just saying.’
As she got Jesse to the couch Cody and Michelle climbed down. ‘Why don’t the pair of you go and play in your room?’ Jesse said wincing as he sat down. ‘But you said we could watch a movie!’ Cody protested. ‘Yeah well that was before I almost broke my neck on Steph’s roller skates,’ Jesse said. ‘Jess is right guys,’ Y/N said, ‘go and play in your room okay?’
The pair of them stomped off up the stairs that Jesse had just fallen down as he lay down on the couch. Y/N perched on the seat, ‘are you okay?’ ‘Yeah I just don’t know what happened,’ Jesse said, ‘I moved Steph’s skates this morning.’ ‘Maybe she used them today?’ Y/N said. ‘No, she’s been at her friend’s all day. I dropped her off,’ Jesse said. ‘You think it wasn’t an accident?’ ‘You take a life insurance policy out on me that I don’t know about?’ Jesse laughed. ‘Like anyone would pay money for you,’ Y/N said. ‘Hey I am a catch,’ he smirked. ‘A catch with a bad back,’ Y/N said leaning down to kiss him. He kissed her back his fingers dancing along her chin. ‘Not fair,’ he said as she pulled back out of his reach. ‘Well, we’re still on duty. How about I go and make sure the kids are in bed and then we can continue our movie night…in bed,’ she smiled getting up and heading towards the stairs chuckling as she heard Jesse sigh, ‘have mercy.’
As Y/N made her way upstairs she could hear giggling coming from Michelle’s room which was then followed by a loud scurrying no doubt them leaping into bed. She smiled to herself but as she reached for the door her smile disappeared as all of a sudden there was a crash as water rained down on her.
There was a fit of giggles and the sound of running up the stairs as she realised what had happened. ‘What’s going on here?’ Jesse said immediately bursting out laughing which was joined by Michelle. ‘Jess it’s not funny!’ Y/N said elbowing him. He winced but his mirth didn’t disappear quick enough for her liking. ‘You’re right,’ Jesse said with a smile, ‘Michelle it’s not funny.’ ‘What on earth possessed you to do this?’ Y/N chastised. ‘It was a prank,’ Michelle said. ‘Well, it’s not very nice!’ Y/N grumbled. ‘It was Cody’s idea!’ Michelle said, ‘they all were!’ ‘You agreed!’ Cody said. ‘All?’ Jesse said. ‘Wait was the roller skate your idea too?’ Y/N said looking at the young boy, ‘you know you really could’ve hurt somebody! How could you be so stupid!’ ‘I was just trying to get you to like me!’ he said and then he jumped out of bed and shoved past the two adults who were standing in the doorway. ‘What the-’ Y/N started but Jesse cut her off. ‘I think I know what’s going on. I’ll sort it,’ Jesse said and he quickly turned around and followed him out the door. Jesse left the room and headed to the bathroom and knocked on the door gently.
‘Go away,’ Cody said as the door knob turned and the door opened gently. Jesse stepped into the bathroom to find the young boy sitting on the tiled floor. He sighed and sat down beside him trying to ignore the snotty whimpers coming from the kid.
‘I don’t want to talk to you,’ Cody said. ‘I know,’ Jesse said, ‘you don’t like me right?’
Cody looked at Jesse but he didn’t say anything.
‘Because you like Y/N right? Like, like-like her?’ Jesse said looking at Cody’s face. It was red now and his eyes were bloodshot. He nodded. ‘I just wanted her to like me,’ he admitted dropping his gaze as he fiddled with the bath mat underneath them both. ‘Hey, I get it, man. Sometimes love makes us guys a bit nuts,’ Jesse said, ‘my first week around her I could barely speak. I wanted her to like me so bad.’ ‘How did you do it?’ Cody asked perking up a little. ‘Well I’ll tell you how not to,’ he said looking at Cody who looked at him his eyes wide egging him on, ‘Pranking me? That’s not going to work.’ ‘Why not it made her laugh?’ Cody argued. ‘Yeah, but it can go wrong. Someone could get hurt,’ Jesse said. ‘So how did you get Y/N to like you?’ Cody asked. ‘I was myself. I try to make her happy. I make sure my hair looks amazing every day,’ Jesse chuckled bumping his shoulder on the boys. ‘So if I do all that she’ll like me?’ ‘Yeah,’ Jesse said, ‘but I gotta ask that you don’t.’ ‘Why?’ Cody replied. ‘Because there’s no way I can compete with you,’ Jesse said.
Cody seemed to mull it over for a moment and then he nodded. ‘Fine,’ he said as he stood up, ‘I think I’ll get Michelle to like me instead.’

Pretty, Dead Animals Chapter Four
Linette runs on Mondays.
It's ritual. A routine she had been honoring since she was fifteen and still in foster homes, trapped in the city.
It felt safer out on the flats of the desert, nowhere for predators to hide, no unexpected turns in the roads, just clear, calm sand stretching further than she could see.
Linette would have liked to listen to music while she ran, but the cost of headphones and a smartphone were luxuries that she couldn’t even dream of. The steady pound of sand under her shoes and even rushing of her breath was good enough as Linette sped across the ground, a pleasant sting in her legs and stain in her lungs as she moved.
It was mid morning. The sun sat high. She felt good, oddly optimistic for the week ahead as if there were a little spout of hope sprung up from the rubble of her heart.
Something good was coming Linette’s way. She could feel it.
~R.F.M~
Logan tugged at the length of chain to test its bearing again, watching the silver links go taught, pinching one after the other, all the way along to the stud tightened securely in the wall.
It didn’t budge.
Dropping the metal tether to the floor with a clatter, he stepped around the careful arrangement of scented markers and mindful coloring books to the mattress. Twin sized, brand new, made with top quality memory foam. It was pushed flush with the wall, right under the thick metal stud.
He hadn't bothered with a bedframe. Too much potential for her to hurt herself if she pitched a fit when she was brought home.
The sheets were white and pink, an organic blend with eight hundred thread count. Two pillows, just the same as what she had in her apartment and a light duvet with a single, beige fleece blanket folded into a square at the foot of the bed.
Other than the sleeping area, her room was sparse. No pictures hung from the walls, no clutter on the floor, nothing that she could make into a weapon or use to hurt herself. It was perfect.
Logan would buy her things, of course. If she was good, his girl could have whatever she wanted. Books. Movies. A full screen TV. Clothes and makeup.
New, pretty toys to play with that were more fun than the single raggedy old bunny she doted over.
Linette could have whatever she wanted if she was good.
But if she was bad?
Logan lifted a hand to rub along the hinge of his jaw while he stared at the length of chain.
If she was bad, then it would be Logan who got whatever he wanted.

Revelations - Season One
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: FBI agent Leila Kade faces a profound life change after giving birth to a baby girl, supported by her loving husband. Despite the challenges of motherhood, Leila returns to her role as a dedicated agent a few months later, ready to confront gruesome and haunting cases with her BAU team.
Pairing: BAU!Fem!OC x Male!OC , EVENTUAL Aaron Hotchner x BAU!Fem!OC (Like much later)
Warnings: This story contains mature themes such as sexual content, strong language, violence, mentions of alcohol and drugs, blood, gore, and death. All the usual Criminal Minds stuff. And there is NO CHEATING.
Note 1: I imagine Leila Kade as South Asian but I have decided to let you, the reader, imagine her appearance, hence the reason why I have not given her a face claim. However, her race does not affect the story, whatsoever. You, as the reader, are free to imagine her however you want. If you don't see her as South Asian, then that's fine. It won't affect the storyline. I also imagine the OC!Male as South Asian, but again, it won't affect the storyline.
Note 2: The team will consist of the main cast (Emily, Derek, JJ, Spencer, Penelope, Aaron, and Rossi) but will also include Elle Greenaway and Jason Gideon because they were some of my favorite characters and I wanted to include them with the rest of the team. Basically, Elle and Gideon never leave when Emily and Rossi join.
Note 3: There will be multiple time skips throughout this series. For example, the first chapter will begin on the first season and episode of the show but then there will be a time skip to later episodes (because there are obviously way too many episodes to write this series on and I wanted to include specific episodes that would help the plot of this story). This means that this series will be a slow burn romance but I believe it to be better this way. This will also stray from the actual show a lot, so don't expect it to follow the plot precisely.

Oh oh! I have a question about your MC
Do they have any special powers? Like magic and such?
Ooo! Yes, he does, actually!
Surprisingly enough, I have this entire backstory and lots of lore on Magic in The Devildom that canonically works with my beloved Hai Sang.
But here's the basics: Demons have more control over magic from the Devildom and they can naturally draw it out as it literally courses through every demon. Sorcerers need to recite spells to draw out the power from the Devildom. They can do that by speech, by sigils and symbols, or by using both (i.e. Summoning spells or pacts).
And being Solomon's apprentice--like how the game originally made it to be--he can help Hai Sang draw out his natural demonic power with demonic sigils considering Hai Sang is a halfling.
Then there's wands. Wands help control magical accuracy even if it's not a "pew pew" spell. It could be an attack spell that affects the mind or the physical body. Wands will help you zone in on the right person and not your friendly neighbour's dog. (Hai Sang needs his wand when he's trying new spells or a spell is a bit too advanced for him ;))

Monster - Chapter 1.
Male! Wendigo x Female! Reader
DISCLAIMER!!! YOU CAN ONLY CONTINUE READING THIS BOOK ON WATTPAD AND AO3 UNDER @UrBigSocksSmell AND THE BOOK IS CALLED "Monster" UPDATES WON'T BE HAPPENING HERE ON TUMBLR ONLY THERE!!!
Summary: In your last moments before death, you make a deal with the Devil himself. To provide it with as much food as you can from your butcher job to save your life and the lives of everyone around you. Even if it knows the amount of food you can give it still won't be enough, it goes along with your plan for whatever reason of curiosity it has.
Reader discretion is advised for disturbing depictions of animal corpses, body horror, blood, gore, paranoia and so much more.
While in the beginning of such a beautiful night when the moon started to shine over all the white eyes looking up at it, you weren't able to enjoy such a pretty sight.
You were locking the doors and locks of your shop while keeping your eyes barely open. Today was a tiring day for you, given the annoying customer you had to serve just now and the nagging you had gotten from your father on the phone about some bullshit you could care less about. At least now the only thing you'd have to worry about was the walk home while avoiding any social contact with anyone you saw.
And you did just that. When the street lights loomed over the street and made you look like a shadow, you hid behind the hood of your jacket and avoided the people walking by. It may have looked suspicious because of the little droplets of blood from your messy job and the dark eyebags under your eyes but you would have a chance at avoiding any people you might've recognized, which was a win-win situation for you.
The night was still young and cold, and it was starting to scare you how quiet it had become. Late-night walks home from your job always bothered you and you were grateful when you had the chance to clock out early. This time that wasn't the case, and you were now left alone in the street with little crickets making sounds and the wind lightly blowing in your face. Now more than ever were you wishing that the people you passed by would come back and save you from this horrific place.
Minutes later, you found yourself in the dead of the town's light, and it wasn't so scary now. Yet, you couldn't help it when walking by the town's square, it was a group of people all circled something and you couldn't bare the curiosity brewing inside of you. Your anti-social self was screaming at you to go home, to forget about this the next day, but as the saying goes, curiosity killed the cat.
"Hey, what's going on?" Your voice was raspy and you had to cough to have it come back to normal when talking to one of the people around. You had to previously lift off your hood back to minimize the suspicion on you while walking towards the group. Did you notice just now upon closer inspection how they all had horror looks on their faces. The person you had called out to had one too, they gave you a disgusted look, looked you up and down, and walked off as if you just laughed at their grandmother's death. Once the number of people was lowered you could see the reason why they were gathered clearly.
It was true, curiosity killed the cat. And this time the cat in question was your spirit that died within you the moment you saw it.
It.. it made you regret coming here, made you regret that you took this pathway home. It was clear why they were all around here to see the thing, but just why did they have to stay? Why did they stay around as if they weren't disgusted by it? If they hadn't, you wouldn't have seen it too. Seen the image of the dead animal before you, slaughtered and eaten alive. It had no organs left, no skin, nothing left of it except for its bones fully in place that were covered red. It had no head attached to it, no skull like it was taken from human hands. It was unrecognizable, to the point that it could've even been a human and no one would ever know. You've dealt with skinning animals and distinguishing them in way worse ways before, yet to have done something like this was purely heartless.
You turned your head from the flesh of bones when someone addressed you pelotly, their eyes had the same horror look as now did yours too and everyones around you. "Y-you're the town's butcher, right? Do you know what c-could've done it?" They stuttered at their words, clearly frightened by the thought of said beast. "I-I don't know, I truly don't know. It c-could be a pack of wolves or a bea--" You tried to answer them but your words were stuttered out the more you talked about this monster.
In the mass of bodies of meat all in one place, you could've never noticed the white eyes looking over your figure up and down as if searching for something.
Even when you disappeared feeling horrified, it still remembered the smell you left behind of blood, meat, and sweet death.
