feeling evil and i cant draw so this will have to do
dont think about how badly chip doesnt want to repeat the ways the world has wronged him to anyone else
he doesnt want to completely abandon ollie and leave him alone with nothing like chip, they make sure he has people to care for him. he doesnt want to let his crew follow him to the unknown if they aren't prepared for it. he tells ollie to stay home, out of any danger
but old habits die hard and he still promises ollie they'll come back
even though he doesnt fully believe it
even knowing hes feeding into the cycle
but yknow
dont come looking for me when its my turn

Arthur Timeline Analysis
This is a big analysis of the events in Arthur's life, based on what we know as far as episode 9.
If you just want the timeline here it is. However, I go through my methodology below the cut, so stick around for that if you would like!
Year campaign takes place: 2023
Year of birth: 1887
Year of Embrace: 1912
Year of immigration: 1918
Arthur's current age: 136
Arthur's visual age: 25
Quick warning for suicide a bit further down.
Facts we know:
Arthur is a little younger than 140
He left England in 1918, specifically right after World War 1 ended
He had younger twin siblings (that were smaller than adult size, yes this is important)
So, with this information I made a few assumptions. We are placing the timeline such that it is 2023 (year of recording) when this campaign is taking place. There are jokes in the episode about it taking place in 2012, but that makes the ages not line up well, especially with World War 1.
Another assumption: We are taking Arthur's true age to be 136. It is the lowest estimate for "a little younger than 140" I am comfortable with making.
And thus begins the timeline shenanigans.
Arthur was born in 1887, which makes him 136 in 2023.
His siblings would have to be under the age of about 11 to be smaller than their full grown, adult sizes. If Arthur were to be turned in 1918, he would have been 31. 20+ years difference is much quite a large gap between siblings, so he must have turned before 1918.
However, it was said that he left soon after being turned. But what is important to mention is that Arthur is within the age range to enlist in the British Army.
This seems out of character, but it really wouldn't be. He would have very recently killed his whole family. He wants to die. Being killed in a war is seen much more favorably than trying to kill himself. He already knows that trying to burn himself in the sun will just lead to Frenzy that will eventually get him out of harm's way.
So he joined the British military in 1914. He could have been turned right before enlisting and be 27 at the time of his Embrace, but that also seems unlikely.
Arthur wouldn't want to leave the country without checking for Anya everywhere he can. So he looked for her in all of England, while avoiding London as much as he possibly could. After the graves were dug, he didn't return until over a century later.
I say that two years is enough time to look for her in England, meaning the year he was turned was 1912. He would be 25.
This makes sense for his siblings ages as well. They could be 11 years old and only have a 14 year age gap. This is still somewhat large, but much more reasonable than 20. I know many people with this large of an age gap between siblings. A friend of mine has an age gap of 15 years and my mom has one of 16 (both with no siblings being born in between).
At 25, Arthur could still reasonably be living at home. He could be learning the Vampire Hunting trade from his father as an apprentice. His siblings would be young enough to have a small grave.
RECAP:
Arthur is currently 136. He was turned into a vampire before WW1 in 1912 and searched Great Britain for Anya for 2 years before volunteering for the British army, where he stayed for 4 years. Once the war ended in 1918, he left for the United States as soon as he could.

ok so because it seems riptide is gonna be coming up on a VERY interesting point in the story in regards to reveals, with them on their way to the hole in the sea and on their way to arlin and etc etc etc, i figured i might as well put this hunch of mine here as a monument to see whether it’ll get disproven or not.
i have a feeling that chip is far more important to the story than we’ve been led to believe, not just to the story as we know it, but the WORLD of mana as a whole, or at the VERY LEAST with everything going on with the hole in the sea.
a lot of stuff is up in the air and very ambiguous, especially in regards to what actually happened to chip when down there; however, from what i remember it seems incredibly likely that he somehow learned celestial when down there, and is the only one of the og black rose pirate crew that we know of who can speak celestial and READ THE MAPS.
IN CELESTIAL.
ON CHIP, DRE, AND FINN’S AS BACKS.
from what we know, or at least what i remember, lizzy also doesn’t speak celestial. dre can’t speak celestial. finn probably doesn’t speak celestial.
it also seems that whatever caused all of them to not remember most of what happened in the black sea was INTENTIONAL.
there’s a near complete absence of memory for pretty much everyone after a certain point. with how the black sea canonically messed with dre, finn, and arlin’s memories in the one shot, corrupting their perception of their memories to make important moments to them instead be painful (as seen with arlins memory of picking up chip and taking him onto the crew being ruined with a sense of betrayal as an adult chip stabbed arlin, which i won’t even get into how that could make chip reuniting w arlin that much more tragic because arlin can only associate chip w betrayal now coupled w how many more of his memories might’ve been corrupted over the course of the past DECADE in the hole in the sea with him apparently being the most susceptible to failing the necessary save to not have his memories corrupted) which makes it incredibly likely that whatever influence the black sea has not only impacts MEMORY but also DESIRES.
this tracks w how almost all of niklaus’ deals involve people’s desires and twisting them, and when their desires corrupt them enough they begin to die and spew BLACK OOZE.
SUCH AS A CERTAIN OTHER LARGE BODY OF LIQUID COLORED SIMILARLY WITH CORRUPTIVE PROPERTIES AND TIES TO DESIRE.
in the one shot the weird egg thing and the entire area they were in dealt heavily in desire.
when corrupted people in the black sea are slain their strongest desires from when they were alive were passed on to the person who killed them (jays newfound desire to find the dread queens tomb, gillions desire to help the tree, and whatever chips desire was cuz i’ve completely forgotten but it’s probably incredibly relevant 😅).
whatever chips ties are to the hole in the sea, and possibly to the prophecy, and the entirety of the black rose pirates legacy, i feel like we’re gonna find that a lot of the things regarding chips past is gonna be a whole lot more important to mana than we thought.
and i’m incredibly excited.

Im thinking about the fact that Gillion used to talk to Caspian (and probably marshall john as well) every night. He would train while talking to him, he would tell him about the goings on of the albatross, he would tell him the things that troubled him.
And now he can’t.
Caspian, someone who Gillion is infinitely comfortable with, someone who was essentially his safe space, has seemingly disappeared from Gillions everyday life. And it was by his own actions.
I think about the fact that Gillion, under normal circumstances, most likely would have told Caspian about his nightmares, about his encounter with Vice Admiral Kuba Kenta.
Caspian would be able to sooth Gillion, in ways that Chip or Jay could not (whether or not it’s because they are so different from Gillion where Caspian feels like his home is something he still grapples with), so what is he to do when the ability to talk to him is gone?
He makes do.
He shoulders the burden, just as he once did, because at least Chip can sleep easier at night.
At least it’s Gillion who is burdened by torturous nightmares, and not Chip or Jay.
He can deal with the burdens of others.
He can make do with out his comforts.
He can survive while looking forward to nothing.
Because what else should a champion do?

vague pd s2ep30 spoilers //
god im feeling fucking crazy about one (1) dead gayboy. the worst part, right, is william was supposed to be already broken. maybe he got a literal heart back, but the nerve endings won’t connect. his blood stutters and stumbles through his veins, sluggish and murky, and he is a leech, feeding off of vyncent’s warmth and no matter how guilty he feels he doesn’t stop and maybe that makes him worse. maybe he’s even more broken than he was supposed to be. why did god make me broken? maybe it’s a game. why did god make me broken if not to fix me and break me and fix me and break me— and he should have known that it would hurt like this. vyncent, when he’s gentle, can’t reach him through that barrier. hands pressed to the glass of a mirror. when vyncent hurts william, he hurts him. and vynce can’t do that, can’t live with that, but will can’t live without it. it’s proof that he’s alive, or— or something at all, not just the echo of some unloved little boy’s scream as he hits the bottom of the well. so he ruins it, he tears himself apart, a display of agony, a vivisection of desperation, and vyncent can’t handle the sight. why does he ruin everything he touches? he’s the one who’s made to be broken. how does he hurt vyncent in his need for that same hurt? he doesn’t get it, he never will. he’ll never get a chance after it all. maybe as david picks at his pallid flesh he’ll find the error, the monster that must be living inside him. he’ll never get to rest but maybe he can be worth something. maybe his brother will love him. how many times does he have to die for david to be his brother again?
it’s almost impressive how william can live in david’s shadow when he’s so far away. he was the star student, their parents favorite, the one with a future. sometimes, when something bitter and sinful boils over in his chest, william thinks he could have made it if david weren’t alive. sometimes the frost in his throat hungers for the hot blood in david’s. he doesn’t let those thoughts out, he can’t, because to be a monster is to be excused of guilt, and this is what he deserves. so he cuts classes and runs away and finds the one thing he does right, the one thing david can’t touch, and he sinks so deep, never touching the bottom, always finding some way to get worse before that sickening hubris spills over and he is gone. he should have been gone.
he could have tried. he could have tried to mimic david, right? maybe he would have made it out. maybe he’d be a little less broken. but he’s just. tired. he always has been. he was born with an ache, something between apathy and fear deep in his gut that distances him from david, and maybe that’s why. maybe that’s it. he will let himself break if it means his father will see him. if it means his mother will see something more than a vessel for a God he doesn’t believe in. he thought people only like you when you’re sick, and he had to get sicker. turns out people only like you when you’re dead.

I made a Chip Mixtape
It follows Chip's development over the JRWI riptide plot starting with his backstory, going up until ep #70 (no spoilers past there!)
(CWs for heavy Chip Trauma™, as it covers everything including Hole in the Sea, all the Price stuff etc. Stay safe friends!)
This mix is gonna be on a C90 (90 min) tape! The split between side A and side B is after song 11 :)
Plot/song explainations under the cut! You should read them :D (but only if u want to)
(listen along for best effect >:] )
Side A
Here's a Health to the Company - I've always loved this song as a representation of the Black Rose crew. Despite the fact it's about a positive experience, it's so steeped in nostalgic grief, which describes Chip's longing for his childhood pretty aptly.
Ship in a Bottle - I used this to represent the moment of the Hole in the Sea because I think it is a good representation of, not what actually happened, but what happened in 10 year old Chip's memory. The emphasis in the lyrics on isolation and responsibility is particularly notable, because I feel that being unable to help his crew, he'd feel responsible for that. The lyrics about lack of control also make this song, in my opinion, work.
Edge of the World - This song is supposed to represent the progression Chip's mind as he drifts on the sea and washes up. The reason I chose it was because of how well the song depicts the slow loss of a person's innocence: the slow decline and way the music slowly builds up and strips itself back really adds to the overall effect.
The Guide to Success - The SECOND I heard this song I thought of Reuben Price and Chip. The fact it's a lighthearted song really adds to it, it does such a good jobs at depicting the way Price wraps his fucked-up ideals and plans in smiles and deception, the way he slowly changes from "genuine" advice to manipulation. It just feels like a perfect fit.
Everyone - This song is about the memory of Chip's past he gives up in Noctis, and what he was forced to do. I think this song speaks for itself, so I won't try to overexplain.
Sleep Awake - This one is the aftermath of the previous memory. He can't do these things anymore, he feels he is losing himself. He's realising that something needs to change, though he doesn't know what yet. If he hadn't worked out before Price was manipulating before, he knows now.
Burning Pile - This is where Chip finally realises exactly what he needs to do. He needs to leave. This isn't a good place for him. He needs to make a way out, else he'll never find one.
Fire - Other than being a literal representation of Price's place being destroyed, it is showing the moment in which Chip's mess of feelings finally bubble to the service, his "exile" moment. He's out of control, but in a way that scares him far more than any before, because in this moment, he is seeing Price in himself. He feels he has to do this, because otherwise he'll stay trapped, but he regrets it even as it's happening.
Mostly - This song shows the aftermath of his escape, the moment the adrenaline leaves his system and he's finally alone with his thoughts. He realises, although he's finally free, he has no idea what to do now. It's been so long since he's been truly alone, and this is the moment where everything finally hits him, and he's free to let every emotion wash over him.
Prologue - This spans the time between his escape and Riptide episode 1: It shows his slow recovery, the development of his many coping mechanisms (particularly his lying) and his slow path towards moving on, at least from Price.
Run The World!!! - Chip's found himself a crew. He's making his mark on the world on his own terms, and he's found some other misfits to do it with. He's still hurt, but he's healing, slowly but surely.
Side B
I'm not a good person - This shows Chip's mindset towards himself throughout the whole Loffinlot arc. He is CONSTANTLY throught this arc making selfish decisions, decisions that he KNOWS are selfish. His instincts are not used to factoring in other people, because he's been alone for a LONG time now, and he knows he probably shouldn't be doing these things but he does them anyway. Chip really doesn't think highly of himself at ALL, he hasn't for a while, if he ever did, and now he's suddenly besties with somebody declaring themselves a beacon of all things holy and good (aka everything Chip thinks he's not). His self-worth at this point is kinda fucked, at this point it's like he doesn't think he's worth enough to make choices that aren't self-destructive.
Liar - This one is representative of the casino arc. Chip's constant lying, he knows it's wrong, but he can't help himself, because it's so easy, so much easier than telling the truth. It's not until he finds himself thinking he's going to die that he tells Gillion what he's done, but in that moment I think Chip is confessing about more than lying about bugs, although I don't think he realises.
My Ugly - This is representing the battle in the ice arena or more specifically, Chip's mental state through all of it. His refusal to stop fighting until he is literally unable to stand because he thinks Gillion needs this is uhhh fucked up, and even then the only reason the fight stips is Jay intervenes. Chip thinks of so little of himself, and it all comes to a head here. In this case, "my ugly" is his trauma, and how it's affected him. He knows he's a bit fucked up. he wishes he wasn't.
We'll Never Have Sex - This is the desire island arc, but more specifically, it's about the kiss. Whether or not it was romantic or platonic, I think it probably meant a lot to Chip, keeping in mind directly before it he was having a breakdown about the fact that nobody would ever love him. The fact that this was a gesture with no malicious intent, no lies, no manipulation. It was probably the first show of any kind of genuine affection Chip had recieved since he was 10 years old. Platonic or otherwise, I think this was an important moment for him. This song (I hope) portrays that.
Rule #28 - Sand - This is meant to be about the feelings Chip has finding Lizzie again. They've both changed, but he is so glad to find confirmation he's not the only one. He still misses the Black Rose, and he desparately mourns them, but he is finally willing to accept the past, as there's now the possibility, in his mind, of it being his future. It's a flawed mindset, as he is still trying to live in what once was, but it's a step forward.
Blunders - This song is mostly a filler, covering the arcs between Joaldo and Allport, with a particular focus on the vibe of the adventures in Edison Kingdom. This segment is predominantly just Chip finally accepting that his crew are actually staying with him, that this isn't a fleeting moment of stability.
DEBT COLLECTORS - This is the moment everything starts to fall apart, when Price's assassin tries to kill Earl. Chip was halfway though healing and Price sends all that crashing to the ground. Chip sees it as karma.
Your Sister Was Right - That self-worth Chip had been slowly rebuilding was suddenly destroyed. He feels he needs to isolate himself again, for the good of those around him. he refuses their help because he doesn't want them to get hurt because of him. He doesn't think he's worth it.
Sleep With a Baseball Bat - And then he gets scratched by a kitty who makes him think all of his worst fears are coming true!! Yay!! Chip's paranoia has returned worse than ever, he can't sleep because he needs to continually remind himself that everyone is still here and they're okay, that his fragile equilibrium has not been shattered.
Rule #21 - Momento Mori - This covers the start of the Noctis arc (before he sleeps) where Chip has truly lost connection with the world around him. He's running off fumes, guilt and paranoia.
Dancing - This bit is the aftermath of Chip's decision with Grimm. He chose to save everyone instead of curing his curse. He's still not doing great, but he's now fighting it on his own terms, which counts for something.
It's Alright - Chip gets to Liquidis, and his curse is lifted. His friends have seen the darkest depths of his mind, his greatest fears, and they're still here. His friends fought his demons for him. He's still here. It's going to be okay.
Born For This - Finally, Chip's on the path to healing. He's ready to stop living in the past. He's ready to fuck shit up, help those in need, and be the best goddamn pirate the world has ever seen.
____________________________
Ok if you actually read this far thank you!! this took like,,,,, 2 hours to write out? So I really appreciate it!! if you enjoyed, pls comment or rb (only if u wanna tho!!)

pd s2 ep 31 ramblings /  wi wi is a shakespeare character coming to the full realisation that he is in a tragedy.
Part of me wants will - now truly recognising the slippery slope that he was on - to course correct and be the hero that Dakota and the Prime Force see in him, instead of resigning himself to the ends-justify-the-means attitude he cornered himself into to.
The other part of me wants will to slide all the way down that slope, with every flail he makes to find justification in his actions only building the momentum of his fall from grace.
Every decision he made in that lab was because he couldn’t let Tide or Dakota see him make the ‘necessary’ choice. William is not good or even capable, but at least he can do this. Make the choices they can’t for them.
I want him to lose faith in himself, to stop trying and give himself over to what he does best: make things worse. To embody the catastrophe that catalyses Dakota’s transformation into the hero that the world needs. That he needs. Because William believes in Dakota more than he believes in himself.
Either way I can’t see this ep NOT to be a major turning point for will.

//Blood in the Bayou ep1 spoilers
Thinking about the current group dynamic rn so much like god my brain is buzzing.
‘Cause like there’s the whole tension between Rand and Rolan. I feel like they were genuinely insanely close in high school, then whatever happened with Rand’s sister and the bodies in the lake absolutely shattered that relationship cause they are on edge with each other constantly. There was the whole argument as well between the two of ‘em in today’s ep that’s just sending me wild.
Also, Rand genuinely just gives me the vibes of a caring and kind person. He absolutely loves his friends to bits and would give the world for them I feel and the fact that apparently Rolan just got up and left after the whole event definitely hit Rand way too hard. From how I’m seeing it, Becky dying and Rolan leaving were way too close together and pile that on Rand’s already iffy relationship with his dad caused a huge seed of resentment and pain.
And I haven’t even GOTTEN to Kian yet. Grizzly said something about his character being one who stays in denial in the face of weirdness or problems. Kian is essentially witnessing the distrust between his two friends rising and despite his attempts at trying to get them to calm down, to just relax and play dnd together like they all used to, it always fails as something always happens to thwart it. Not to mention his insistence on taking them out to try therapy, like seriously, he must be hurting just as much inside.
Essentially, I’m really excited to see the next three episodes. Tensions are rising, characters are fighting and constantly getting severely injured, god I can’t wait to see how this all turns out in the future.

It feels like we’re entering a new age of Riptide. The sun and moon godesses, the feywild, GOING TO SPACE; like all these new concepts are getting introduced. Early Riptide was all about Niklaus. Whenever a villain showed up they’d always cough up his black goo when they died, or you could find his compass somewhere, or someone wrote about him in a journal. Everything in the world was his to touch and taint. But now, it feels like there are new and fascinating possibilities that don’t have to do with him at all.
Of course I trust Grizzly not to overshadow him or make him seem less threatening/climactic in any way. But it feels like there’s still a Riptide after his exit. Like a season 2, maybe.

Hey y'all! Since it's Love Loses Wednesday for all who celebrate and I have plenty of thoughts about it, here's some of those thoughts I've had for my fellow enjoyers of Chip Bastard from the insanely powerful podcast Just Roll With It!
So.
Chip being so focused on family and friends, on finding Arlin and keeping his co-captains and crew safe, while the most he ever shows interest in romance is in brief, jokey flirting that's quickly brushed aside.
Chip buying a love potion, only for it to sit unused in his inventory for literal months until it unceremoniously drops into the mouth of the Electrodon.
Chip being unnerved or even downright scared when somebody shows a sign of being attracted to him (Amanda with the marriage, Jazz and his flirting, the frantic denial to Ollie that Gillion kissing him meant anything (which was then followed by barely any change in their relationship. A typically romantic act, done as an act of love between friends, and yet those friends never did start a romance. Curious))
Speaking of Amanda and the marriage: Chip waking up one day and suddenly being expected, even morally obligated, to be in a romantic relationship with somebody he doesn't even know, for reasons he doesn't even know. And even when he clarifies that he doesn't want this, that he won't give up being a pirate with his friends for it, he still can't leave behind the expectation fully, because Amanda, and thus this expectation, is literally chasing him. Sometimes it even comes from his own friends, because no matter how much he would prefer to just Not Be Married, there's no way for him to get out of it, especially not ones Gillion would likely accept, and therefore the expectation that eventually, he'll be in a romance, is inescapable.
And even more interesting, he's not opposed to the idea of getting married in general. He wasn't wholly against the notion of marrying Igneous just for the AC boost it would give them. Clearly, the problem he had wasn't with the marriage itself, but with the fact that he was expected to form a romantic partnership.
And lastly: Chip having his literal heart ripped out of him, and staying nearly the same. Making jokes about how his heart was stolen in a way that was literal instead of romantic. Writing to his wife that if death do them part, then now it has (and doesn't it even say something that the only way for him to escape the marriage, the expectations, was to die?)
He cares for his friends just the same. He cares for his crew just the same. He wants to find Arlin just as much as ever. And his avoidance of his wife, of the expectation that he perform romance, stays the same. But even if he's the exact same, he has an excuse for this now. Because clearly, somebody with no heart couldn't feel romance, and who cares that he didn't really seem to before he lost his heart either?
Chip being aromantic, on a textual, metaphorical, and thematic level.

thinking about how doomed chip and arlins reunion is. like. even not including all of the corruption and stuff implied to be happening with the hole in the sea. chip was around 9. a 9 year old who thought the world of arlin, and how can you live up to the expectations of a child who thinks the world of you, one who has had a decade to build you up in their mind.
and on the other side. arlin remembering a small boy who was a bit mischievous at worst, now stood in front of him ten years older, with countless scars, not even breathing. completely unrecognisable.
all im saying is that no party involved is ready for what might happen and thats scary as hell

gillions gonna have a breakdown when they finally find pretzel, it feels like that much is obvious. but the rest of the crew doesnt know what came before. all of the doubt relating to the prophecy, and the yearning to be someone outside of it, or even just alongside it. the need for someone to relate to, even if they will be diametrically opposed in wanting sea vs land to remain.
gillion is so tragic. his need to follow his destiny and the prophecy are his flaw. its unsustainable. in the undersea, when its all he knew, he could handle it. Because thats all he knew. but in the oversea, he knows everyone else can just smile; his friends laugh, and do morally dubious things, and continue on. he doesnt have the at luxury. his friends do not have to be perfect. or not have to be a picture perfect view of a picture perfect hero that will save the world.
gillion cant carry the prophecy alone. he has tried, and he needs help. its far too much stress for one person to handle. pretzel was just a tipping point, the straw that broke the camels back.

pssst. hey.
do you ever think gillion blames himself for not being able to go back home?
do you ever wonder if he feels like maybe, just maybe, if he had been a better student, done better in training, learned faster, fought longer, hit targets more accurately, if he had just been less of a failure better, he would’ve been able to see his family again?
he might’ve been allowed to leave more often, see his sister more, maybe his parents would’ve cared enough to visit?
do you think he blames himself?
he was kept from his home, his family, a regular life and a happy childhood, and i wouldn’t be surprised if he thought it was because he needed that extra training because he wasn’t good enough as is, and maybe if he had been able to get it first try, or second or third or fourth or fiftieth or hundredth, he wouldn’t have had to stay so long afterwards.
man.

guys listen listen listen im going insane about the artist attention to detail with their designs holy fucking shit man look at them look at them they genuinely look like fraternal twins and the children of their parents in actual character structure, not just colors holy fucking Shit.
Tumblr media
Emizel has Jeffrey's hair color on top but the Queen's hair color closer to the roots where his undercut is. Emizel also has Jeffery's eye shape and the Queen's eyebrow shape!! He has the Queen's cheek bone and jaw shape but Jeffery's chin shape, and he also has Jeffery's overall mouth shape with the stern flat line.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shilo has the Queen's eye shape and Jeffery's eyebrow shape. He has the Queen's cheekbone and chin shape, but Jeffery's jaw shape. He also has the Queen's overall mouth shape, with the little bow in the center. ALSO!! VERY TINY DETAIL!! but where the light hits jefferys hair and eyebrow in the upper left, its the same golden shade as shilos hair!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and then on both of them, they both have the same nose, with the Queen's bridge shape but the fathers nose tip shape.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You thought it ends there? No Sir!!!! Even their body structures match!!! Emizel has the Queen's body structure with wider shoulders and hips and narrower waist in a general hourglass silhouette structure, while Shilo has Jeffery's general body shape with the broader/rounder chest and straighter narrower hips providing more power and definition to the upper body
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, to the artist - you did a fantastic job I love them Dearly so so much,, if im Correct in these observations that so fucking cool of you incredible skills there im devouring it,, if im Not Correct then my apologies im simply utterly insane about this show and their designs and im searching for enrichment

I know it’s played as a bit at first, but Chip struggling to wield Destiny’s Blade in Gillion’s absence is so important, because that’s just it, isn’t it. The weight of his destiny is something so great, so heavy of a burden, but there hasn’t really been insight into that until recently, and now both Chip and Jay are getting a look into just how hard it is to carry such a destiny. To raise the sword that Gillion does seemingly with ease.
But despite its weight, Chip keeps it close. He uses it when he’s out of ideas, when he needs options. He holds it tight to summon water, so Pretzel will have something in her bowl. He lifts it up to summon a shield when he needs protecting from a thousand different blades that would otherwise kill him. And there’s something too about how it’s Gillian’s blade, left behind without it’s wielder, protecting his friends despite his absence. How the manifestation of this magic is an imitation of Gillian’s - the shield protecting Chip as a swirling sphere of water, the shape water spell a Gillion classic of course. Even when he’s gone, his influence, what he’s left behind in both possessions and memory, are protecting Jay and Chip.
Maybe there’s something there about how whatever destiny Gillion has felt the weight of, it will always include protecting his friends - his family. Or about how their destinies are now forever intertwined, because Chip is using this Destiny’s Blade to find Gillion and it’s now his burden to bear. And it’s hard, and it hurts, and he feels the weight of his own actions now more than ever - but Jay promises he won’t bear it alone. And even while he’s lost, and unable to protect himself - Gillion still has a hand in protecting them.
