Jun is quite a smart four year old. She can already read pretty well and loves fun facts! It's common to hear her say "Fun fact! (Insert fun fact here)." She loves owls, and has a large owl plushie (that's kinda goofy looking, which is why she chose it) named Hoohoo.

She was born shortly before the Serpentine War to Misako and Wu. She was premature, meaning her parents had to give her a lot of care, driving an early wedge between her and Morro, who was terrified his parents wouldn't want him anymore, now that they had a "real" kid.

That didn't last long, though, and Jun thinks her big brother is the coolest person ever and loves spending time with him. He's about ten years older than her.

She asks Misako so many questions about. Everything. Mostly history and her trips. She likes to join Wu for tea, but doesn't like tea. So he pours her apple juice into a teacup. Morro enjoys having someone to show off his powers to. The two siblings fly kites with each other.

She of course loves her uncle Garmadon too but I haven't thought too much about things they could do together...

He wanted to watch you in your element and would be staring at you with such love and pride. He would hug you in between scenes and constantly compliment how you executed scenes. He was the bestest and most perfect partner to bring to filming days.

-> Jeonghan:

Jeonghan would come to filming days as a surprise. He'd have your favorite bouquet of flowers and would order a food truck to come. He wouldn't talk much to the cast because he is a bit more shy but anyone would just know how proud of you he was. He would be smiling at you every time you were acting or just standing on the set. He was so proud of you. <3

Oh so boyfriend. That's Jisoo. He would be smiling at you from the background as you slayed every line and would be shocked by the dialogue even if he already knew the script because he helped you with lines shortly before you started to film. He was friendly with the rest of the crew and other actors but he was there for you. Everyone knew that. He was so proud of you.

Jun would be like a fly on the wall when you were being filmed. He would be monitoring you the whole time and his face would be very similar to how he was while watching the Spell MV. Once certain scenes were finished though he would be all smiles and would tell you how amazing you were. He was your biggest fan and everyone with half a brain cell knew it.

-> Hoshi: (Ok so this is going to be very niche but y'all know im a swiftie/carat atp lmfao just hang with me for a second.)

Y'all know how Travis Kelce looks at Taylor Swift when she's performing or anything like that? Well, that would be Soonyoung with you. He would be staring at you with so much pride and would just have such a soft smile on his face. He would observe everything and would constantly swoon when you would come over to him in between scenes. He was your biggest fan and you along with everyone else knew it.

-> Wonwoo:

I feel like Wonwoo would be fangirling because he was on a Marvel set. Sure he was proud of you but he would just be so into the sets and the plot. If you were to be like "you like Marvel more than me," he would just scoff and say "you are literally Black Widow, I love you the mostest," or he would tease you by saying "depends on the day." Either response would cause your to roll your eyes and kiss his cheek. Overall, I feel like he would be such a supportive partner on set. He'd make sure you were hydrated. If you were sleepy he'd offer his shoulder during breaks. Just so perfect.

-> Woozi:

Even though Jihoon is more comfortable in his own home or studio, he would be at the set whenever he could be. He wanted to show you support just like you did for him. He'd be in the shadows but you would know when he was there. He would be smiling and taking pictures of you. He was just so proud of you doing what you loved and oh my god seeing you in your element was just so precious to him. He enjoyed when he could come to set.

-> DK:

On days Seokmin came to visit you on set, you would feel like a superstar. He would be so soft because this was your moment and not his. He would be watching you kick ass and just would feel so emotional seeing his baby be in her element. During takes, he would constantly compliment you and he would help you with lines if you asked. He was there for you. So many of the crew just found him so precious and would think you both were goals.

-> Mingyu:

Oh this beefcake of a MAN would have his phone out and take so many behind the scenes photos and videos of you acting. Mingyu often would tell you how proud of you he was but he showed every time he came on set. He also became basically part of the crew family. He knew all the directors and so many of the crew staff by name. When he came on set, everyone was so in love with him and his charms but his heart eyes were always directed at you, his precious lil actress.

-> Minghao:

Minghao is one of the members that goes to other members solo or group shoots to show support so naturally he would be at your shoots as well. He would be similar to Jihoon and be in the shadows but during breaks he would be near you and complimenting you. His whole attention would be on you and he just had so much pride toward you.

-> Seungkwan:

Seungkwan would treat your filming days like they were the most fun things ever. He was your personal cheerleader and your happy little pill. No matter the scene, he had such a proud smile on his face and would constantly tell you that you were doing such an amazing job. He would always have an extra iced americano on hand. Some of your coworkers would tease and call him your "assistant" instead of your boyfriend which he'd just joke back and say "isn't that the same thing basically?" lmfaoooo.

-> Vernon:

oh boy Hansol would be cheesing the whole time. When I said he would be there every step of the way I mean it. He would be basically besties with set designers and on first name basis with the director. If people had no idea who Hansol, they would assume he was working on set because that's how often he was there.

-> Dino:

Chan would be your biggest hype man ever. When you got done acting a scene he would have a bottle of water ready for you and would massage your shoulders and shit. He would constantly compliment you and would just feel so much pride. He'd also text his members things like "this movie is going to be the best." He was just so so so proud of you.

About the relationship between Jin and Xiaoyu…

Since i read an article by @purpura-xiao, i get the motivation to write an article, too, because I also had noticed something:

As I remember, there was an article where someone wrote that Jin and Xiaoyu don't interact much and how could they fall in love or something. For more information, please read the articles of @purpura-xiao . She explained well the relationship between Jin and Xiaoyu 🥰❤️ So I want to include some other information and why I think Jin and Xiaoyu will have more romantic moments in the dlc(including kissing scene):

I noticed in Naruto for example that it took many years for Naruto and Hinata to come together. They shared a kiss in the movie: Naruto the Last.

But why years later and not earlier? First, before we answer the question, let's analyze it first:

The thing is that Naruto and his friends had to fight enemies and they were also in a war. And Naruto was in character development and fighting to become the Hokage. It took years to get to where he is now and be the strongest man to protect everyone.

Also final fantasies Cloud and Tifa shared their first kiss years later

Naruto and Hinata shared their first kiss years later

Jin and Xiaoyu...years later they shared their feelings…

But WHY all these years later?

Because of the development of men. First fight your weakness, train to be strong, find the right path and save the world, be the strongest and then: WHEN THE WORLD IS SAFE NOW, TAKE YOUR WIFE AND GO THE SAME PATH WITH HER.

But what does this have to do with Jin and Xiaoyu?

Well, Jin and Xiaoyu went to the same school, became friends, and after Heichachi's betrayal to Jin, "losing" his mother to Ogre (SPOILER TEKKEN 8 JUN IS ALIVE), and dealing with the devil gene, Jin has gone down the wrong path by starting the war and hurting his comrades, especially Xiaoyu. All because he wanted to get rid of the devil gene and end the Mishima bloodline. Then he realized that this was the wrong way, so he finally found the right way with the help of his comrades, especially Xiaoyu and his mother. In the end, instead of killing his father, he spared his life after defeating him. In the happy ending, we see Jin and Xiaoyu riding bikes in the USA. Jin always had feelings for Xiaoyu, but for her safety, he kept his distance to protect her. Xiaoyu is one of the most precious people in his life.✨🌸

Conclusion

These men love their women, but before they could go any further, they first want to find themselves, develop their character, become strong and make the world a safe place before they can live happily ever after with their love of their life and make babies. 👶 😁

So first off, she would definitely get along with Jun, that's a given. Zhao is a godmomma and Jun is a momma! They bond over their son <3 I also feel like, you know, something funny is that Zhao is like hundreds of years older than Jun, right? Though, mentally speaking Zhao is in her late twenties maaybeeee early thirties?

Correct me if I'm wrong by all means but I'm pretty sure Jun is older than that so I feel like she would still scold Zhao like she would be scolding a younger sister- Like:

"Oh, don't be so sassy young lady! >:["

"Jun, what-"

This post was inspired by that one tumblr user whose bff forgot to ask her to prom. Since Jungwon is a literal baby this is just cute and fluffy. There is a kiss at the end but it reads like a Disney channel original movie. Also I know nothing about prom or dress shopping except for what I’ve seen in movies so sorry for any inaccuracies. Jungwon, as always, is the most precious lil bean. Jake and Sunoo feature and Sunoo goes full Tan France. Hope u enjoy!!

You are staring at your phone, trying to decipher the text you just got from Jungwon.

“Hi! What color is your prom dress?”

As far as you know, you are not going to prom. You never have been going to prom. You never even got asked to prom, you think to yourself, amused.

“I don’t have a prom dress,” you reply back. “Why do you ask?”

His reply is prompt. “Prom is this weekend, right? Why don’t you have a dress yet?”

“Because I’m not going?” you reply back, more confused than ever. “I didn’t get asked to prom.”

The typing signal appears -- Jungwon is texting back. “Did I forget to ask you” is all it says.

You gape at your phone. Pressing the call button, you hold it up to your ear, and Jungwon answers almost instantly.

“Uh, hi,” he says, his voice sheepish.

“Hi,” you say, trying to hold back a laugh. “You have some explaining to do.”

“So, I thought I had told you that I was planning on taking you to prom,” he says hesitantly. “But then I realized about thirty seconds ago I never asked you. I literally told everyone but you,” he adds, exasperated.

“Well, that sounds fun. I don’t have a dress, though,” you say.

“You’ve still got a couple days!” he pleads. “Please, I think it would be really fun if we went together.”

You try to ignore the butterflies that erupt in your stomach as he says this. As a distraction, you pretend to deliberate for a moment before agreeing. “Okay, I’ll be ready to go. What time are you picking me up?”

“Six!” he says. “Don’t forget to ask your dad.”

You roll your eyes, knowing full well that if your dad could trade you for Jungwon as a kid, he’d gladly do so. “Okay, I will. I’ll see you in class tomorrow.”

“Bye,” he says cheerily. “And sorry again!”

The call ends and you run downstairs to talk to your dad. “Hey,” you say as you enter his office, and he looks up and smiles at you.

“Hey, stranger,” he teases. “What’s up?”

“Jungwon called,” you say. “Apparently he forgot to ask me to prom, but I’m gonna go with him on Saturday if you’re okay with it.”

His jaw drops. “I absolutely love that idea. In fact, I think you should date him, go to college with him, and then marry him. Actually, I think I’m gonna tell him he can only take you to prom if he’s gonna marry you later.”

“Dad!” you shriek, blushing.

Your dad laughs at your discomfort. “So, do you have a dress?” he asks.

“No,” you admit, your cheeks still hot.

“Well, give me ten minutes and then we can go. Are you going to bring Jungwon with you to go dress shopping?” he asks hopefully.

“That might not be a bad idea,” you say. “Isn’t that bad luck, though?”

Your dad rolls his eyes. “No, that’s for when you get married. Jungwon shouldn’t see you in a wedding dress before then.”

You glare at your dad. “You keep making jokes, and I’m not even going to invite Jungwon to come.”

Your dad immediately sobers up. “Okay, okay,” he says, his tone placating. “I won’t do anything bad. Just call him.”

You do, and he answers promptly. “What’s up?”

“My dad wants to go dress shopping in like ten minutes,” you explain. “You could come and get your matching tie at the same time.”

“Great idea,” Jungwon says, “except I have Jake and Sunoo here right now.”

“Dress shopping?” you hear Sunoo say in the background. “We’re coming. She’s going to be the best-dressed person at prom or I’m not the person I say I am.”

There is a long pause. “Apparently Sunoo wants to come. Is that okay?”

“Bring them both,” you agree, smiling. “It’ll be way less weird than hanging out with just you and my dad.”

“I love your dad!” Jungwon says defensively.

“You love my dad, and my dad loves you, a little too much,” you sigh. “See you in ten.”

After collecting everyone, you head to the mall, and into a store that boasts a large selection of dresses that you had to look up on the internet to find. Jake’s eyes get wide as he takes in all the options, organized by color on seemingly endless rows of racks. “It’s so much harder for girls,” he realizes.

“Not if you do it right,” Sunoo instructs. “Now, darling, stay away from anything beige,” he tells you. “Or cheugy.”

You salute him, heading for the light blue rack. Jungwon follows you while your dad hangs back, talking with Sunoo and Jake. “I think you should look for something vintage-inspired,” he says, helping you look through the racks.

You look at him, impressed. “I didn’t think you’d have an opinion,” you tell him.

“Well, you’ll look pretty in anything,” he says, and he blushes a bit. “I just think that the vintage things you wear suit you really well.”

You can feel your face contorting into a shy smile against your will, so you pretend to concentrate on finding a dress. A shop worker comes to help, and within minutes you have a queue of dresses to try.

Sunoo is by far the most vocal critic, and as you step out in the first dress, a yellow number with daisies and tulle, he vetoes it almost immediately. “This is prom, not a garden party,” he insists.

He does the same with a green dress that hugs you tightly pretty much everywhere. “How are you expecting to dance in that?” he asks scathingly.

“I liked both of those,” Jake says, bewildered. “You looked really pretty in them.”

“You did,” Jungwon says, grinning. “There’s still a lot to try on, though. And I think Sunoo’s right that that dress will be hard to move in.

You roll your eyes and continue trying on dress after dress. You have it narrowed down to an emerald green dress with intricate pearl embroidery and a lavender dress with rosettes along the neckline before Jungwon sticks his hand underneath the changing stall with a frothy, floaty, light blue gown with a full skirt and puff sleeves. It is light, delicate, and poofy, and it has a slight shimmer to it. As you slip it on, you know -- this is the one.

You step out, and Jake starts clapping almost immediately. Your dad’s eyes are getting teary, and you almost start laughing. Sunoo is nodding in approval, but Jungwon is looking at you, and his eyes are wide and his mouth is slightly open and he is smiling in apparent awe.

He is the first to speak. “Wow,” he says simply.

“Wow is right,” Jake says. “This dress was made for you! You look incredible!”

Sunoo stands up. “An easy winner,” he declares. “I think we deserve ice cream after all this.”

“Thank you, guys,” you say. “I love it.”

You keep stealing glances at Jungwon. He cannot keep his eyes off you.

Prom night has finally arrived. You are a tiny bit nervous, but mostly excited -- but your dad is pacing around the kitchen, full of anxiety. Jungwon is two minutes later than he said.

“I told you, Dad,” you say. “He texted me five minutes ago that he was on his way, and he lives across town. He’ll be here.”

“What if something happens to him?” your dad whispers in horror.

“Dad, please,” you say, shaking your head. “Don’t be ridiculous.”

It’s less than five minutes later that the doorbell rings. Jungwon stands there, holding a bouquet of flowers, in a suit with a tie that matches your dress perfectly. His eyes go wide again as he takes in the sight of you -- hair done, makeup on, smiling at him. He impulsively takes your hand and twirls you right there on the doorstep. “Wow,” he says again, shaking his head. “You look...magical.”

“Magical?” you laugh.

“Beautiful,” he breathes. “Absolutely gorgeous.”

“Doesn’t she?” your dad interrupts. “I did her hair myself.”

“You did?” Jungwon asks, turning his wide eyes on your dad. “You did amazing! This is for you, by the way,” he remembers, handing the flowers to your dad. “You really earned them.”

“Thank you,” he says, proudly taking the flowers. “It took me three hours.”

“I’ll be back by midnight,” you tell him. “Have fun at home!”

“Have fun at prom! But not too much fun,” he says sternly.

As you leave the house, Jungwon takes your hand. “I’m really excited,” he says, his smile contagious.

“Me too,” you say. “You look amazing, too.”

He looks down at his black suit, complete with pearl cufflinks and white gloves. “Sunoo helped.”

“I figured. Where are we headed?” you ask.

Jungwon nods at the corner of the street. A limo is parked there. You look at him, aghast. “That’s for us?”

“Yes,” he says, and starts to jog with you over to it. He opens your door and makes sure your dress is all inside before climbing in next to you and sitting beside you.

There is a bouquet of small white flowers in the limo. Jungwon hands them to you. “I wanted to bring you flowers too, and I actually think they’d look kind of nice in your hair.”

“Really?” you say, touched.

He nods. “May I?”

You nod back. Jungwon plucks a couple, and places them carefully in your hair, giving you goosebumps. He turns you back around when he’s done. “They look pretty,” he says, folding his hand in yours again.

The limo ride is full of easy conversation between you and Jungwon, although you are trying to be normal about the fact that your best friend since childhood has grown to be so handsome, and here you are sitting beside him looking like this, and he is holding your hand. After about half an hour, the car stops.

“Where are we?” you ask, looking around. Unbeknownst to you, you’ve driven to the top of a small mountain, and have stopped at a restaurant.

Jungwon helps you out, places your hand in the crook of his elbow, and you walk into the restaurant, where he says, to your shock, “I have a reservation.”

You are seated on an outdoor terrace, overlooking the valley. The food is amazing, and as you eat, you enjoy the view -- although you’re much happier just because you’re with Jungwon. You talk and laugh and compliment the chef, and Jungwon pays for everything, making your eyes wide.

Then, it’s finally time for the dance. It’s loud and fun, and you see plenty of friends there. But your favorite part is when during a slow song, Jungwon takes you outside, to a quieter spot where you can just barely hear the music, and pulls you in close for a dance.

You rest your head on his shoulder, but you’re near enough that you can feel his heart beating. He has long since ditched his jacket and gloves, and the feeling of his bare hand in yours has the butterflies in your stomach going crazy. How did you end up feeling like this with someone you’d known so long?

The dance ends, and you load back into the limo, exhausted. Feeling brave, you lean your head against Jungwon’s shoulder again and close your eyes. To your surprise, he wraps his arms around your waist and leans against the side of the limo, closing his eyes, too. You drift in and out of sleep together on the ride home from prom.

When you finally arrive back home, Jungwon nudges you gently. “Wake up, sleepyhead,” he teases softly. “It’s time.”

You get out slowly, walking hand-in-hand, and he spins you one last time before you arrive at the porch. “I had a great time,” he says shyly, looking down at you.

“So did I,” you say, your smile so big your face hurts.

The silence that falls between you is heavy and fraught with unsaid words. Finally, Jungwon blurts out, “I have to tell you something.”

“Me, too,” you say in a rush. “You first.”

“No, wait, you first,” he says, confused.

“You first,” you insist, shoving his shoulder playfully.

“Okay, well, um,” he says, nervously playing with his cufflinks. “I don’t really know how to say it. I’m not great with words. But I guess I just wanted to let you know that I like you. A lot. Like, I like like you.”

You just look at him. He continues, looking a bit distressed. “I know we’ve been friends forever, and I know this might make things weird, but it’s almost our last year of high school, and I don’t think I could live with myself if I never told you.” He finally meets your eyes again, taking your hand. “I really like you, and I’d like to see if we could possibly work as something more than just friends.”

You touch his cheek. “You took the words right out of my mouth,” you say seriously. And he beams.

Taking a step closer, he leans in slightly. “Would it be okay if I kissed you?” he asks softly.

“Please do,” you say. He laughs quietly before closing the distance between you.

The kiss is sweet, soft, and perfect. When he pulls away, you cover your mouth with your hands. “I can’t believe we did that!” you squeal.

He laughs, full-bellied this time. He puts his hand on the other side of your face and kisses you again, deeper this time. “I can,” he says happily, brushing your noses together and kissing your forehead before putting his hands in his pockets.

Turning to leave, he stops at the bottom step and looks up at you on the porch. “Goodnight, my princess,” he calls to you, his voice just reaching you like the music of the slow song you’d danced to with him.

You go inside, watching him surreptitiously from the window. Before he makes it down your driveway, he does a fist pump. You laugh, and go to tell your dad what you’re sure he’s dying to hear -- that you and Jungwon are officially together.

Review, Thinky Thoughts, and Other Nonsense

This is a very good year for Wang Yibo, and by extension for me, because my son's success fills me with much joy. I admit though, I was less than thrilled to go watch a movie about test pilots for him. But love conquers all, and so I went!

Spoiler-free review

Going into this with admittedly low expectations, I must say I was very pleasantly surprised both by how engaging and entertaining the movie was and by how little propaganda there was in it, considering it's essentially a movie about glorifying the Chinese Air Force. Yes, the "enemy combatants" were unintentionally hilarious caricatures, but they were a very tiny part of the plot. The central drama was predominantly internal to Lei Yu (Yibo's character) - at the end of the day it's a film about his personal growth journey. It's also, a surprising amount, about his relationship with his "rival" pilot Deng Fang (played by a very handsome Yosh Yu) and his military daddy, Commander Zhang Ting (played by the delightfully avuncular Hu Jun). There is high drama and high stakes, tears and heart break, and a good amount of homoerotic tension between men in uniform who are forced to train in close quarters. I, for one, will not complain. If anything, the one downside was not enough shirtless scenes in the barracks.

As always, Yibo had fantastic chemistry with his male costars, and like subterranean levels of chemistry (low, very low) with the requisite female love interest (but this isn't about her - she's incredibly unimportant). The Yeekies and the Yose looked spectacular, and we got to see more epidermis than we've seen since he had to take his shirt off for The Untamed. Because he wears a tank top. We live off crumbs, my friends. It is saying a lot that he didn't get upstaged by the cool planes because the flight scenes were pretty fantastic (and also a bit nauseating). There are some stunning cinematic shots in this film and Yibo and the scenery both look great.

Thinky-thoughts

This is just going to be a random list of thoughts that don't belong in a review, but I still wanted to share.

They clearly went out of their way to make Yibo's skin look more "rugged" for this movie, but he's still a babie and also the prettiest 🥺

Spoilery! But for a movie that makes a big deal about how every life is precious, they don't seem to spend very much time and effort to ensure that they reduce loss of life for their test pilots, especially after major (and surely very expensive) mishaps? Still, I guess we have to balance out the verisimilitude with the drama.

I learned that "enemy combatants" might be assholes, but birds are the real enemy. If you know, you know.

Still pretty ticked off that Yibo flipped over in that vehicle while making this movie. Seems like maybe that's something they'd like to avoid in the future because in a country of a billion citizens, he's irreplaceable.

Other Nonsense

Okay, if you know me, you know I can't leave here without talking about the ENEMIES TO LOVERS TROPE! 🥰🥰🥰 Yes, it was a million times more gay in Top Gun, but this is China, and the dudes still manage to have more physical contact than Lei Yu had with the girl "love interest." This is all to say, I expect some hot pilot on pilot fanfics. Looking at all of you, fandom!

ModernAU tianlang-jun/linguang-jun simultaneously acquiring orphan nephews they're unprepared to look after. 8yo zhuzhi-lang and toddler mobei jun.

As they bicker over what food is appropriate for children, zhuzhi-lang walks in the kitchen and quietly cooks on a stool he finds. It's rudimentary but edible.

He deposits mobei jun into a chair and politely gestures for the adults to sit. They're quietly impressed--linguang-jun only slightly turning his nose up--at the bowls he sets before them with his little, careful hands.

zhuzhi-lang even feeds mobei jun, successful after a few swatted utensils.

"How do you know so many things at such a young age?" tianlang-jun inquires playfully.

zhuzhi-lang answers, unblinking, with a child's straightforwardness, "mama wanted me to learn things before she died."

linguang-jun nearly chokes on his noodles.

mbj pulls a face like he's about to upend his bowl. Then he starts sniffling, big black eyes shining. linguang-jun just swallowed his difficult mouthful and he's recoiling from the sudden display of emotion from the otherwise quiet child.

zhuzhi-lang informs them, "he misses his mama too."

tianlang-jun feels bad that zhuzhi-lang automatically takes on do many responsibilities around the house. One, he knows the boy did the same for his ailing mom and two, he's supposed to be taking care of him.

But zhuzhi-lang really doesn't mind.

Despite his age, he understands what this new jiujiu has given him. A nice permanent home in a safe neighborhood. He can walk the streets alone without feeling scared—like he used to do when mama became too sick for grocery shopping.

jiujiu's bf yells at him when he tries picking up a few things they're low on.

linguang-jun comes rushing out the door, mobei jun on his hip and gnawing on his shoulder, grabbing him roughly by the elbow.

He's furious, asking if he's lost all sense, leaving the house without telling him!

It's scary for half a second, until zhuzhi-lang notices linguang-jun shaking. He's basically ignoring mobei jun drooling on his shirt.

Oh. He's worried.

zhuzhi-lang blinks, slowly. He apologizes and tells linguang-jun he doesn't need to worry, he knows the way. The market is closer than the one by his old house.

"That's not the point! Your jiujiu would be insufferable if you suddenly disappear out on your own."

linguang-jun snatches his hand and adjusts mobei jun on his hip. "Detach yourself, leech. Let's get this over with."

zhuzhi-lang lets himself be pulled along, hardly able to match linguang-jun's long strides.

It was nice shopping together.

Experiencing a lot of emotions about baby zhuzhi-lang growing up too fast caring for his sick mama. The mother/son pair living in poverty in the wake of his dad abandoning them one night. zhuzhi-lang's mama was too proud to ask the family she ran away from for help until it's too late.

Switching tracks for a sec to explain tianlin's top surgey preferences:

linguang-jun "money is no object for looking your best" vs tianlang-jun "my body is perfect as is, why would I change it?"

This results in a few awkward moments on tianlang-jun's no binding days. Baby mobei jun full on grabbing his chest.

linguang-jun was in love with mobei jun's eventual mother back before he was out. His father refused giving his consent on their union, citing it as pointless. "No daughter of mine will waste her life. Two women can't produce children."

Furious, linguang-jun spits back "well this son of yours has no plans on having children!"

He leaves the house, his family, and his inheritance behind. Pretends he doesn't care that the woman he lost everything for ditched him for his brother.

It's a bittersweet victory he's the only one alive to care for the family's precious heir in the end.

The last time he saw his brother and sister-in-law alive, they extended an olive branch by inviting him to mobei jun's first bday. The old man was dead by then.

His guts twist seeing the happy family.

He drinks too much, steals baby mobei jun away. Drunkenly tells the fussy child the whole sorted tale, how he should have been his dad. Laughing bitterly at the absurdity of his own statement.

His parents find them some time later, frantic.

sister-in-law snatches the child back while her husband berates linguang-jun. The two trade barbed words before linguang-jun is bodily ejected from the house.

The next he sees the boy it's 2 years later & mobei jun's parents are gone. Their private jet crashed in the sea.

The same week tianlang-jun's sister passes from cancer.

I like to think this starts with 5yo zhuzhi-lang carefully bringing his coughing mama a glass of water, spilling some along the way. She takes it and gives him a long, sad look.

Ok. If she's must leave him, she'll make sure he's prepared.

She underestimated how much time she had left

-zzl has patches of severe eczema all over, including his face. Because of this he shies away from strangers and crowds.

-He acts disarmingly mature and calm, a symptom of how his grief has desensitized him.

Pierre and Léon are our twin boys, and they're our middle children! They are identical twins, but they have very slight differences. Pierre has Levi's eye shape, while Léon has mine. Also, Léon has a mole on his right jaw just like me.

Pierre is also taller than Léon because he likes to play basketball. Pierre is also the more outgoing and active twin, while Léon is more passive and introverted. Pierre loves meeting new people and making new friends, while Léon prefers a small group of close friends. As Léon is more soft-spoken, Pierre used to bully him a lot when they were young, until Levi got so angry that he banned Pierre from playing with Léon until he knew how to love his younger twin.

The twins have very different personalities and temperament as well, so it's not that hard to tell them apart when they're older.

Pierre loves running around, and he loves playing sports. Pierre also asked his Uncle Farlan to teach him how to play baseball. Whenever Levi's friends come over, Pierre sticks to Mike and Farlan, and the three of them (and sometimes Charlotte) play basketball together.

Léon is Pierre's opposite, and he prefers doing things alone. Léon likes to read and do jigsaw puzzles, sudoku, and other kinds of puzzles. Léon asked Levi to teach him how to play chess, but since Levi had no clue at all, Léon went to his godpa Uncle Erwin for help. Léon also likes Hange a lot, and always asks them lots of questions whenever they're here visiting.

Aftermath

(I am sorry, I am going to go full blown hurt with this.. Like full full blown)

Kagami was good at hiding. He was even better at concealing how badly he was hit during that rather nasty fight.

Though he was glad it was him and not Jun, who was still young and full of plans for the future. Purposfully he made it so that he would take care of the redheads wounds, patching them up with that unwavering smile of his, showing a kind of calm that was sure to give the young nin some safety, reassurance.. They made it out alive and they'll be back to the village with no losses taken.

Or so he wants them to believe, to take strength out of the circumstance, yet all the while... He could feel his life force seeping out of that particularly nasty wound, he could feel how slowly his toes and the tips of his fingers started to tingle with the loss of sensation. How there was that cold sweat forming on his forehead as he tried to stay focused, stitching a wound that he prevented from becoming a lethal one.

And that's the way it should be.. The old generation being a shield for the younger, giving them a chance at a life they shouldn't have to lead.

Fire cracked in the background, the log collapsing into it's own structure and Junpei probably could feel that something his horribly wrong. Because, Kagami was barely finished when attentive eyes took notice of the soaked clothing, slowly weeping into the ANBU-armor he still had on. Of course they immediately knew this was an awful sign to see.. Even more horrible as they pushed their guardian onto his back with panic in their eyes.. It felt too easy to do so, like guiding a baby into a sleeping position, which gave their eyes a familiar sting, but one they didn't need now. Not now.

The older Uchiha felt the panic in how trembling hands tried to undo the piece of armor, even more so when that shirt easily gave in to being ripped apart, giving way with that awful wet sound that drenched clothes tend to make, only to reveal the true extent of the injury their guardian had received. Endless 'No's' fell from shivering lips as Jun gathered together all the medical supplies they still had left, trying to still a wound that had already betrayed them so much. And as he was pressing down compresses, trying to force the blood to stay, it was that already cool hand of his guardian that made him gasp.

"It is not your fault... remember that." It was horrible to hear the gentleness, overshadowed by raspy breathing. "But make sure... to get back home alive, promise me.. and do not-... ever forget that you matter... and that I loved you."

No that is not what Junpei wanted to hear, not like that anyway, not in a way of taking a last goodbye from the one who had given them a true home, a place of safety, something to always return to without being afraid of bad repercusions. To someone who had always met them with smiles and even took their mischief with a laughter rather than scolding them for every little misstep. They didn't even want to accept the thought of returning home to not only feel themselves falling apart from the abscence, but also having to see how the man who loved him would fall apart too. WIthout voicing it, Junpei decided that leaving was not an option for Kagami, for the man he secretly but proudly called 'Dad'.

Consciousness might be fading from that tired Onyx eyes, but determination was not leaving the redheads heart, waking up every ounce of medical knowledge they had to dress the wound, focused to stop the precious liquified ruby to leave this body any longer. Tears still stung in their eyes, but still their stitches were precise, "Don't fall asleep on me now, Dad.. Please don't." And surely Kagami could still hear their voice, desperately reaching towards him through the fog that his mind was becoming.

There were visions of light, visions of a female stepping down from the light of the sun and holding her hand out towards him. Beckoning him to leave behind any kind of pain, to let go of the earthly bonds that held him there. And oh was he tempted... So tempted to finally forget the pain his soul ha been in from the beginning.

So tempted and yet he just closed his eyes, avoiding to hear her calling his name, to let himself be laid to a well deserving rest.

He was still needed, he could feel that... But he could also feel how this battle took every ounce of will to life.. Took every bit of strength left in him to not just fade away.

"Please, stay with me.. Pease stay!"

The Case of Vanitas Watchrough & Readthrough

The Vanitas Opening is cute, very rom-com like. Basically just the two of them going on dates lol. I hope they're actually gay for each other. I need that. I really need that.

Vanitas episode was pretty good. Definitely more of an emphasis on world-building than character so far tho, and still has that Pandora Hearts comedy, but it's way less obnoxious, and presentation wise it's slick and stylish. It's got a solid hook, so I'll stick around for more.

I appreciate the Vanitas anime keeping the OST running even during gags. I feel like most anime stops the music during quick jokes, but keeping it going makes it flow better.

Rewatching Vanitas from the start as I'm gonna catch up now, and this is a very strong overarching hook.

Yeah, he's not. Like, at all. That is a very weird insult.

Hmmm...

Ooh. It's interesting that Noe seems to respect his teacher a lot and is very loyal to him in the present, but with this reveal, that could be tinted to being something of a coping mechanism or something, cause he's gotta have mixed feelings about him after this.

I am reading the Vanitas manga as well, just to see how it did things, and the art is pretty excellent, as expected. Altho the quality of scans varies.

Some non-colored pages too, cause the actual art in the manga is very good as well.

I like the kind of preview they did for the next volume at the end of volume 2, hope they keep doing that.

Noé is precious.

Vanitas is intriguing. I like him a bit more in the manga (I'm not crazy about Hanae voicing him) but it's interesting to ponder whether his preferring that his love doesn't love him back is cause he doesn't want to be tied down or if it's some self-inflicted punishment.

On the one hand, his love for Jeanne feels genuine, but on the other hand, his actions towards her feel very calculated to get the most out of her. Of course, they're not mutually exclusive, I suppose. Either way, lots of potential here. Shame he's a bit annoying lol.

Noè is probably still my favourite character, just cause, he's a sweet, precious little cinnamonbun.

Vanitas no Carte Part 1 was pretty fun. Looks great. Stylish and sexy, with plenty of intrigue and strong world-building. Some annoying comedic faces and chibi intercuts tho. Noé is precious and wanna know more about Vanitas. Most a really faithful adaptation too.

The Vanitas anime definitely cuts stuff from the manga, but so far it's not really super significant stuff and they manage to communicate the info in other ways instead. Altho that Mikhail has yet to appear in the anime.

Backstory episodes in Vanitas hit different. They happen a lot in Jun's stories, she seems fond of them. It's one of the things she's the best at too, I'd say. Sadly, this was the first episode with real significant cuts from the manga imo.

Before it's always been skipping some details you can infer anyway from the context, but entire scenes were also missing here. Mind you, the episode on its own was very good, but, you get more in the manga, and it's more essential to the experience here than it's been previously.

The visual direction has been less Shaft-like overall, compared to Part 1, and a bit more standard Bones, which I think works in its favour at the moment. They pulled some trademark Shaft in this episode tho, but it fit a lot better here.

Jun is still a bit of a mixed writer for me even here in some regards, but she's definitely improved from Pandora Hearts. Her set-up is a lot better constructed here. Bodes good, gives me hope the climaxes she's very good at could actually properly hit for me here.

I was hoping for Chloé to have a little bit more self-agency, so very much like this twist. Not yet quite sure why she's going against Naenia tho, but guessing because she manipulated her to keep living and Jean to become the beast, and she eventually realized that.

I'm just spitballing, obviously, we'll get more info on this next episode, I'm just thinking out loud at the moment.

Ah, alright, yeah.

Again, anime cutting stuff but nothing that crucial, just further small moments, further details, or more action that isn't VITAL to the overall narrative. I understand manga purists disliking it but as an adaptation, think the anime is doing the best it can good enough.

INSANE VISUAL

So, the theme of loneliness seems to be the central one in Vanitas.

Oh damn.

Another great spread. It pays to see how the manga depicted these moments as well. 

Art was a bit off for the kiss in the anime, but they adapted the smile pretty nicely. This is very cute.

Usually, the comedy in Vanitas doesn't do much for me, but this was one of the most effective comedy-driven stretches.

Alright, I dunno how effective this twist is. Okay, I guess they're twins then, and not one year apart. And the reason for all this is because of some weird superstition that twins are bad luck for vampires or something? Maybe the manga elaborates on this but...

And then there's this, and I guess it's natural for her to assume that in her current state of mind, but with the twist not being that clever, this is just annoying, when it's obvious he might mistake her for him, as they look almost identical, and he has like PTSD so?

Mikhail is an interesting addition to the story.

Ignoring the execution of things, the ideas for her backstory feels very Mochizuki, and in a good way, so hopefully the manga does this in a way that is more effective for me. 

Yeah, no, the whole that Louis was said to be ill but not actually was vague from the start, as was him supposedly being one year old but actually wasn't, and it all being based on this weird superstition is a bit weak.

Some nice stuff for Domi, her cutting her hair to look like Louis would've been really disturbing in the right way if the context was strong enough to back it up, and it reveals why she doesn't think Noe loves her, as she thinks Noe agrees that Louis should've survived. 

But yeah, the twist and logic behind it are not strong enough to make it as effective as it could've been. I mean, I'm not here thinking it's so stupid, but it's just not super strong for me, but oh well.

This is also weird, why give Noé stakes AFTER he's dead? We'll probably get more on this tho, I think. Or I'm missing something. 

Mikhail is at least twisted in all the right ways, in typical Mochizuki fashion. Beginning of his backstory was a bit tonally off in the anime, but handled much better here in the manga. Excited to finish the anime and catch up to the manga tomorrow and find out more.

Dude, this confrontation between Noé and Vanitas is crazy good.

We'll see where this goes, cause having him be behind a lot of the stuff in the story yet having been basically completely invisible throughout the narrative doesn't seem fair to the viewer, but we'll see.

He's got the same eyes as Noè's cats, and also calls them kittens. He might be the cat lol.

Vanitas No Carte Part 2 is a mostly faithful adaptation that when it has to cut things, chooses the least crucial parts, and story-wise it really ramped things up and delved into the more interesting and darker ideas, shedding light on its mysteries. Really good overall.

Jeez, his entrance is way scarier in the manga.

Caught up to the Vanitas no Carte manga, which was consistently very good, and occasionally great! Jun's writing skills have improved, and I'm more invested than ever right now, so I very much hope that she has a lot of story left to tell cause I think there's plenty of promise.

so many out there do not have the prayer life they really want.  maybe they have good intentions, but just cannot ever feel really connected.  i well remember how i used to get antsy and view the clock often.  our flesh begins to burn the closer we draw to the holy.

the following story might give you an intro into an intimate and cherished connection with our Lord.

we all take baby steps to where ever we're going.  they may be small, but if we persist, they will get us there.  this is something we all need if we are to "endure" to the end.

a man's daughter had asked the local pastor to come and pray with her father.  when the pastor arrived, he found the man lying in bed with his head propped up on two pillows and an empty chair beside his bed.  the priest assumed that the old fellow had been informed of his visit.

"i guess you were expecting me," he said.

"no, who are you?"

"i'm the new associate at your local church," the pastor replied.

"when i saw the empty chair, i figured you knew i was going to show up."

"oh yeah, the chair," said the bedridden man. "would you mind closing the door?"

puzzled, the pastor shut the door.

"i've never told anyone this, not even my daughter," said the man.

"but all of my life i have never known how to pray. at church i used to hear the pastor talk about prayer, but it always went right over my head.."

"i abandoned any attempt at prayer," the old man continued, "until one day about four years ago my best friend said to me, 'joe, prayer is just a simple matter of having a conversation with Jesus.  here's what i suggest.  sit down on a chair, place an empty chair in front of you, and in faith see Jesus on the chair.  it's not spooky because he promised, 'i'll be with you always.'  then just speak to him and listen in the same way you're doing with me right now."

"so, i tried it and i've liked it so much that i do it a couple of hours every day.  i'm careful, though.  if my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair, she'd either have a nervous breakdown or send me off to the funny farm."

the pastor was deeply moved by the story and encouraged the old guy to continue on the journey.  then he prayed with him, and returned to the church.

two nights later the daughter called to tell the pastor that her daddy had died that afternoon.

"did he seem to die in peace?" he asked.

"yes, when i left the house around two o'clock, he called me over to his bedside, told me one of his corny jokes, and kissed me on the cheek.  when i got back from the store an hour later, i found him dead.  but there was something strange, in fact, beyond strange-kinda weird.

apparently, just before daddy died, he leaned over and rested his head on a chair beside the bed."

I RATE NEW YEAR’S KISSES

based on my own arbitrary standards! That’s right, cozies, it’s the new year and I’ve been gathering THE hottest gossip to fire up our January. And you know who else was in the business of melting hearts? These sexy singles...soon to be... not singles??? 

I will be judging these kisses based on 1. if i saw it coming 2. if this couple has a future and 3. if it’s movie-material!!! 

1. DOT AND MIM. 

SCREAMMMMMMMMMM I love baby gays!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta say, we all thought Mim had a thing for Ferb, right? So this was big GASP, though on Dot’s side, it had to be a long time coming. That’s like, the only person she talks to in school! For potential slow burn points, plus EEK secondary cuteness, I’m giving this kiss an 8/10. I hope I see dates to Chippamunka’s in your future! 

2. NICK AND VIXEY

This is a total what the fuck moment. 

For one thing, I have no idea who this Nick person is, just that he has a seriel killer van I do not trust! Where was Tiana? Where was Jun? Where was Al? Why did they not stop this from happening? Look, he’s hot, but good enough for Vixey? I highly doubt that, and consideirng he basically PEACED right after? You do not ding dong ditch my precious Chakraborty! Be gone, foul Wilde!

Yawn. Should I go on? I mean, it does give me some Netflix series original potential, very nerd guy meets popular girl trope, but I also called this a while ago. He’s been flirting with Laurette for months on Tinder. At least he finally made a move? And ofc Laurette can do better, and she will, when she dumps Phineas in three months time, max.

Really did not know what to do with this one. Fear the DILF anon will soon strike. Had no idea where this one came from. It was pretty tame all things considered, so maybe it was like kissing your grandpa? 

I regret saying that. ANYWAY you know! The Moreys deserve nice things! So normally I wouldn’t hate this but unfortunately... Isaac was not the only person Seamus kissed that night?! So um, this is a 1/10 for me. I’m uncomfortable. 

5. NICK AND SEAMUS

Meanwhile to piggy back on my NICK WILDE SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED campaign-- what is this????????? 

Now this was NOT a friendly greet your grandpa kiss, this was a solid. Kiss, kiss. I got sooooo many tips about this kiss and how that type of heat implies there’s CHEMISTRY and HISTORY. Maybe Nick knows Seamus? Maybe Nick came to Swynlake FOR Seamus? I’m intrigued, and the drama is real, so the points are def higher-- but I still don’t like you Nick.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Now this makes TOTAL sense! They’ve been flirting for a little bit and I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled. After all, I think we all agree that Mei deserves a little love, and Edric-- a bit of a bad boy, bit of a player-- is certainly her type. I don’t necessarily ship this to the ends of the earth, but some fun dating times is certainly in the cards for these two! 7/10

6. MARTIN AND REN.

YASSSSS ending on a real high note with this one!!!! Martin, my darling, I knew you had it in you, you sexy scholar sorcerer! Ren and Martin have been dancing around each other for a while, so this was bound to happen. I’m glad Martin got over his lil case of shyness and took the dive! This will not be the last we see of these two, mark my words. Do I smell otp...?

My #1 post of 2022

Who needs the Kardashian sisters when we have the Morey brothers. Next public family feud…the Madrigals?
