Recently I was reading "CUT" and listening to music, and the song "Lurk" by the neighborhood came on and I feel like the mood of the song was so fitting when the MC would get the little notes, so now I'm wondering what songs do you see as fitting for each members character?

Oh, that's a good question - I haven't thought about this in a while tbh. I know in the past I would pick a song that I would want to appear in the end credits of each fic if they were a movie...let's see:

Just a few random thoughts. Personally I think Jungkook is sincere and isn’t playing a role right now. I think he tends to be a bit impulsive and obsessive when he has something in his mind. Nowadays, he wants to make sure we don’t see him as a teenager and the forever maknae. I never took him for a baby, I’m well aware he’s 26 now and he’s a grown ass man, hell I’m older than him 😅 So I don’t exactly get why he’s so hell-bent on that. For a while now the fandom has been mostly thirsting over him and noticing how much he has grown up. I think Jimin is being babied a lot in comparison. Or maybe that’s just in my circles? But I respect what he feels and the direction he wants to take. I don’t like it, because for this chapter 2 I was looking for something a bit more personal from each member, a way to connect to each one of them. And so far it has been the case, except for him. Which makes me a bit sad as he is one of my bias, along with Jimin and Hobi. Hopefully one day he’ll get back to writing his own songs because it’s when I connect to him the most, but it’s not his goal at the moment and I respect that.

That being said I truly hope we’ll get at least one ballad from him on his album, and no more featuring… it’s the 3rd one now, 4th if we add Dreamers but that was a special song, and like many of your previous anons I’m losing interest. My excitement for his album has worn off. With Left and Right then Seven and now 3D it’s getting a bit too much, all over the place and lacking some sort of uniqueness. I want to hear Jeon Jungkook, not another western perfectly-pre-packaged production that could have been given to any other pop artist. I’m not really seeing a multiple-dimension Jungkook right now, which is fine but just not suited for I expect from the artists I follow. I wonder if the debates around his songs stems from the way we engage with music in general. I’m going to be honest but personally I don’t stream. I’ve never and I won’t, it’s not the way I like to consume music. Actually, I don’t ‘consume’ music. I don’t listen to the radio, I carefully pick up and choose what I listen to. I guess music is serious business for me hahaha and not something I listen to casually? It’s not some background noise for when I do this and that, I like to really sit down and listen. Does that sound stupid? I don’t know. Sorry, I’m rambling. I’m not against a fun summer hit here and there but I guess I’m a bit of a snob. I’m also very picky about the lyrics and I too find 3D gross, and I won’t apologize for it. It’s definitely not subtle and not even sensual. And I don’t have a problem with sexual songs, heck one of my favorite artists is french singer Serge Gainsbourg, if you know you know ;)

To sum it up, I’m having mixed feelings. I love Jungkook, so I will listen to his album and if he’s happy then I’m happy for him but as an artist right now, his music is not for me anymore and it makes me a tad bit sad. But eh, we still have his previous songs to go back to :)

Whew, if you weren’t an anon and I knew your identity, I would say that we could be friends. I very much so hold a lot of these opinions. JK has one of the best vocals in the business BAR NONE. No one not even the kpoppies can dismiss that fact. Yet, these songs don’t showcase that??? They are songs that anyone could sing. Sure, JK has some great ad libs here and there. There is arguably nothing wrong with the way that he sounds but it’s also not remarkable or impressive vocally in my opinion.

I also don’t consume music. I too am older anon. I’m 30 almost 31 and I listen to what I like. One of the things I like and admire a lot is excellent, lush songwriting. You want a stunning hetero sexual song about sex with women? Work Song by Hozier or really any song by Hozier. I also admire the lyrics of Frank Ocean in the R&B scene, Kendrick Lamar in the Rap genre, and indie girls like Phoebe Bridgers and Lana Del Rey. All of these are just to name a few. Western music can be high quality and have amazing lyrics. I get that JK is going for mass general population appeal, so that’s why this doesn’t resonanate with me. I can be pretty snobby too. In fact, a lot of the music I love is what Joon shares to his stories and as we know, he’s one of the lyrical masterminds behind BTS.

I also love Jungkook and I’ll continue to love him even if I’m not going to listen to 3D and Seven on repeat. I will of course listen to his solo album too when it comes out. I fear it will be more of the same which isn’t my taste, but that’s okay. And it’s okay to like it. I’m one of those people that really likes to dive into songs lyrically. Some people don’t care about lyrics. The lyrics more than anything are what drew me to BTS in the first place. JK wants to be a different kind of solo pop star. That’s fine, I’ll just wait until he’s back in the studio with his band mates producing songs that I know will be fire and I won’t care what the general public thinks about those.

First of all, I wanted to say that I was listening to Hozier yesterday and I thought of you and the iw couple! And actually listening to Hozier always makes me think of you, Art!! I think your writing and his lyrics give me the same feelings honestly, something about both of them hits me so deep in my soul and yet it also makes me wish I saw the world though your eyes because you make it seem so much more beautiful and full of love. I don't know if that makes any sense at all but I was thinking about it, so I wanted to share!

Also about your question of which parts have made us cry the most, I think I'm pretty similar to everyone else and the parts that had me constantly crying while reading were the ones where the characters are sad too and are feeling hurt.

In "in which you don’t want to give up on jungkook (even when he gave you reasons to, even if they give you reasons to)." I was absolutely right there with them, feeling all of those emotions and crying my eyes out and then I cried even more when Jungkook was comforting OC, all of it was so beautiful and emotional. And of course I will never not mention this line: "four months have passed, but it isn’t time’s job to heal all wounds. it’s his." Because I think it perfectly shows how they take responsibility for the way they make each other feel (both bad and good) and how considerate and emotionally intelligent they are 😭😭😭

OC feeling sad will always get me the most I think, because we know how much pain they've already gone through and I just want them to never ever feel hurt again 🥹🥹🥹 So things like this from "in which jungkook is giving up on you but you have so much love left to give." really get to me: “i tried living without you like you wanted- but i can’t-” you hiccup in between small sobs on the other line. “i love you, jungkook. i can’t live carrying around all this love with me. it’s too heavy…” Thankfully Jungkook is always there to make them feel better the way they deserve 🥺🥺

Your beautiful writing makes everything a thousand times more heartbreaking and lines like these: "you let jungkook come too close. he slept on your bed and he learned that you’re always cold. he enveloped you in the safety of his warm embrace and you couldn’t will yourself to leave after the first time. you’ve surrendered to him the control over your body, and also your heart, which you may be breaking alongside your rule but… walking away would mean forsaking yourself." from "in which jungkook misses you before he even leaves" feel like they're speaking to the rawest, deepest parts of my soul.

Another thing that made me cry from that drabble was this part: "he tenderly strokes your hair, eyes filled with galaxies memorizing every inch of your face. he’s scared, too. he’s scared that he’s overestimating himself. too ambitious, too greedy for wanting both the world and the most beautiful person he has ever seen in it to love him. he’s scared of getting too exhausted. he’s scared that you won’t be there anymore when he opens his eyes." Their fears are so warranted, they could really end up being hurt or hurting each other, and yet that makes them even braver for still trying to make it work, for still loving each other despite all of that.

In general every time I think or read about them putting the other first, the care with which they consider each other, OC getting so worried about Kook being hurt, or him thinking about just how beautiful of a person OC really is, anything can have me sobbing on the spot. I think I've said it before but even just your titles are enough to make me cry sometimes. Your words just have such an effect on me, and I've also really grown to love these two and the love they have for each other so so much.

Sorry for rambling a little, I feel like I've said all of that a hundred times before but the love I have for you and your stories is too much for me to keep inside. Hope you're doing well, Art 💞💞💞

Not the same song anon, but if i can give my opinion, I would say Francesca by Hozier. Please give it a listen, it's beautiful and the lyrics remind me or them for some reason. Maybe some modern dance or interpretative would be perfect to see

Opinions always welcome! I just gave it a listen, and i'm kind of feeling it. It's quite emotionally charged, I definitely think it would be good for an interpretive style dance. The lyrics "heaven is not fit to house a love like you and I" 🥺 I get why it reminds you of taekook. Speaking of Hozier, I absolutely LOVE his song "Better love."

the story with this album is that I put one song in my anthony/penelope fic playlist (it is what it is) and became so obsessed with it I had to look into more and the album it is off of was actually great! it was very nostalgic sounding to me I sank into it and I was like this could've played in the princess' diaries and I wouldn't know a thing. really liked it. her vocals are very nice to listen to and I have done so repeatedly which is the highest praise an album can get from me. anyway some semblance of a ranking after a half assed listen but you gotta know it's not very trustworthy

Anything that matches the dark, mentally ill, magical forest that is my mind.

HOW MANY BLANKETS DO YOU SLEEP WITH: By blanket do you mean the duvet or whatever it’s called or a blanket, aka piece of fabric? I you mean the latter, it depends on the weather. But I usually sleep with one under my head as a pillow whilst I cuddle it to suppress my feelings of loneliness hahaah! I like it more than pillows because you can mold the blanket perfectly to fit what you need at that moment.

last but not least, labyrinth - taylor swift. this one specifically reminds me of how they first met (i can’t get over your drabble artemiiiisss i wanna scream into a pillow). and this just feels like the oc’s perspective from the “first time(s)” drabbles. oc being scared of falling in love and felt that they didn’t deserve the love they got from jungkook (and now this reminds me of the marshmallow cravings with tears and the rain ㅠㅠ) to accept and take all the love they can get from kookie and give him all the love they can give and more in return.

hello jello artemis. as usual, a bit random… i was listening to angel baby by troye sivan and i thought

ooh this is something oc would sing to jungkook, they fell in love with his little things, counting / painting his tattoos, jk came out of the blue and bringing oc back to life, all the sick and twisted nights without him are all worth it because at the end of the day they found their way back to each other.

and how come i never asked you what song/s that you think would be something oc write for kookie and what song would he write for oc?
