i know ive already vented/ranted a bunch tonight but its just so frustrating livign so closely with my family so uhh im gonna vent a bunch more lol feel free to ignore lol

There was no earthquake in the area despite the General’s assessment that there had been rather significant tremors. His message cut mid way through.

Upon arrival on October 6th after lack of communication from the Nevada Base, my team assessed that not a single piece of equipment was missing: only its resident troops. While electronics did not work, some memorabilia seemed to have been left behind, notably, two letters written by Commander Cassandra Hasashi-Cage to her husband. These are the transcripts of both recorded letters which may offer clues as the the Nevada Base’s disappearances.

I’m okay. But I don’t know for how long. I’m writing this on paper because everything’s fried. The computers don’t work. None of the vehicles will start. My phone’s dead. I’m surprised my pen’s got any ink at this point.

We think there was an attempt at invasion, but nobody’s certain. Some soldiers reported a portal but I never saw it. This was the conversation that melted your mind as you stared at the stick, the little pink lines sending shockwaves through your body. The bathroom floor had never seemed so cold to you as you cradled your stomach, tears streaking down your face. 

Steve was firm on this. He didnt want kids. He was too involved in being captain america to want this, and you knew that as you called Wanda. Blubbering for her to come to your room.

“How can you be so sure?” She muttered, looking into your mind to find all the answers she needed. 

“Oh (y/n)...oh im so sorry...”

“Thats exactly what you wanna hear when your pregnant.” You sobbed, resting your head on her shoulder as she sank to the floor with you in her arms.

“You’re what?”

“Steve.” Wanda muttered, her grip on you tightening as your husband walked into the room. You clutched her tightly, eyes squeezing shut. 

“Wanda I think you need to leave....please.” Steve spoke, his gaze trained on you. 

“I will come back if you need me. Just call.” She whispered, squeezing you tightly once more before standing to leave. 

When the door clicked shut behind her Steve looked back to where you sat on the floor, hands wiping at the tears that remained.

“How did this happen (y/n)?”

Steve whispered squatting next to you. Your eyes found his and you shrugged. lost for answers.

“Steve I think you know how babies are made..”

 You offered, quiting quickly as he glared at you. 

“But we’re always safe. We use condoms...and what about your pill (y/n)?”

When the door closed on you for the second time that day you no longer had it in you to cry. You slumped onto your bed and stared at the floor. Wondering how on earth you had gotten yourself into it.

A month passed and you had grown used to not seeing Steve around the tower. The only news you had on him came from Bucky. Who informed you that he was in an undisclosed location for a three month long mission. 

You sat now with Wanda, who had grown closer to you than she had been even before your marriage had seemingly fallen apart. Your foot tapped anxiously , her hand grabbing yours. She chuckled and patted your hand softly.

“You should be excited about this (y/n) .. you get to see your baby for the first time today.” She smiled, earning a weak laugh from you. 

You were happy, ecstatic even. But some part of you still wished it was Steve next yo you and not her. She sensed this and fell quiet. Dr. Cho soon coming into the waiting area to fetch you both.

You cried when you heard the small specks heart beat, Dr. Cho outlining the baby with her pink finger. Wanda cried too, smiling at you brightly. 

Three hours later and everyone was crowded around you, desperate to get a glimpse at the ultrasound. Though there wasnt much to see other than a speck everyone still knew the importance of the child you carried.

Steve returned not long after that, going to Bucky’s room rather than yours. He was glad it was late and everyone was asleep. He didnt have to face you. Or the questions he would undoubtedly be asked. But his actions were of no use as he opened his friends door.

Bucky greeted him with a swift punch to the cheek. His anger with the captains actions finally taking over

“What the hell Buck?” Steve screamed, stunned as his friend pushed him out of his room. A piece of paper being shoved into his full hands. 

“Im not going to help you rip her apart Steve. Not anymore.” He growled, tucking the paper into Steve’s hand rougher. 

“Buck-” The door slammed in Steve’s face before he could continue. He didnt get far before he dropped his things, the paper gripped tightly in his hand. He slid down the wall, his eyes staring at the image before him. 

“Dr. Cho said he is strong.” Wanda spoke, her eyes trailing over the captain as he stared at the ultrasound. 

Steve hadnt even seen the witch , though he assumed he woke her with his yelling. 

“How do you know its a boy?” He questioned, his voice raw with emotion. 

“You do realize who I am right?” She replied her accent thick in the question.

“Right.. Is she awake?” He asked, looking hopefully at the woman before him. Wanda shook her head no crossing her arms over her chest lightly. 

“But im sure its not to late to go to her Steve. She misses you more than she is mad at you.” Wanda whispered, squatting to place a hand on his shoulder. Wave after wave of hurt and remorse washed over him , tears stinging at his eyes.

“This is what she is feeling Steve. I cant fix that Steve. Only you can.”
