Hi Megan! Please elaborate more on the birth charts (if you want), I’m into astrology but I suck at comparing them, and I’m always down to learn more with practical examples.
happy belated birthday, it’s always nice when I see your posts :)
Thank you for the birthday wishes, nonny!!!
I am also into astrology but not that good at it, so tbh I don't even know if what I saw ACTUALLY makes a difference? I can understand an individual chart, but reading the charts of 2 people together is (i think) a whole lot more complicated.
BUT what I was looking up was Chiron, which (I think) indicates a person's deep wound, something that they'll carry with them and that will influence a lot of the challenges they face in life? Please someone correct me here, but I'm kinda thinking of it like a pebble in your shoe, or a tiny piece of glass in your foot-- it probably won't hobble you completely, but it will influence the way you walk, how far you walk, your thoughts/feelings on your journey.
And all of that will depend on the house its in, the angles between chiron and your other planets, the houses that the other planets are in, and much more!
Before continuing, I am going to tag my fellow Taurus @louisandtheaquarian, who is much more knowledgeable about astrology than I am! But if you wanna read about what got me going, I'm putting it below a cut.
Harry's Chiron is in Virgo, in his 10th house. which deals primarily with career and public image. The 10th house is linked with the 4th house, which rules familial relationships. Harry's 4th house is where his sun, mercury, venus, and saturn sit (Aquarius) and there is tension there-- you have someone for whom family is very, very important, and who likely approaches family in unconventional ways. Someone who is dreaming of a better world. chosen family vibes are huge. But his public facing image is also important to him, and it's a constant itch in his brain. And ruled by Virgo!! This is someone who likely wants to present a very controlled, measured image to the public. That push/pull between public and private lives is something that likely follows Harry around, sometimes spurring him forward and other times keeping him back.
Louis' Chiron is in Cancer in his 4th house (along with his moon). Home and family are something he identifies with deeply as a core part of himself, and it's also the source of a lot of his worries and fears. Cancer is a water sign and very emotional, so I read this as Louis being very tender and emotional about home and family while also being kind of guarded. His 10th house houses Saturn and is in Capricorn-- his public facing image, like Harry's, is a place where he exerts control, but where Harry is perhaps more invested in a sense (or at least the appearance) of order, Louis is more likely to crave stability.
What hit me in looking at this (and AGAIN, i am barely an armchair astrologer, i was just VERY interested in it as a kid and picked it up again as an adult bc i think it's neat) was that the place where Louis' wound is located is a house where Harry holds a lot of strength. He's got an air sign there, BUT Aquarius is the water bearer!! My personal opinion is that Aquarius has their feet in the stream and their head in the sky. Louis' struggles with his family can be held and uplifted by Harry's energy. Similarly, Harry's wound is in a house where Louis has some strength and where he's able to provide stability.
HOME HOME HOME, their charts basically scream that word at top fucking volume constantly!!

so, one aspect of catelyn which i think is underrated (certainly the biggest adaptation loss which nobody talks about) is her, let's say superstitiousness, or better yet, let's call it genre-savviness, being one of the few adult characters open to magic and the supernatural in this fantasy world. we first meet her in the godswood, home of gods which are not truly hers, yet she is still very aware of their power. when she and ned talk of the deserter he killed, he hopes he won't have to go with the nw to deal with mance rayder, but she has even more fear of that idea bc there are worse things beyond the wall than just wildlings. ned scoffs and says she's been listening to old nan too much, but she's right. we already know from the prologue that she's right! and here she is, understanding the genre of their world better than her husband, who was actually born and spent his earliest years in this northern land of deep magic, listening to old nan's stories. same with the direwolves, where she was uncomfortable with them at first, but later believed in them as guardians from the old gods even after robb had lost his own faith. and once again, we know she's right even if she doesn't know the evidence to back up her instincts, bc summer and shaggydog did not fail bran and rickon and robb was almost certainly a warg like his brothers. (perhaps making it more fitting that she's the one brought back as a fantasy vengeance monster, not ned and robb, the most unbelieving dead starks.) and in her 2nd agot chapter, everyone focuses on her ambition in wanting ned to agree to the hand job (pun intended) and sansa's betrothal, and while she does recognize the value of their daughter being a future queen more than ned does, that's only her stated argument bc she thinks it's rational enough for ned to listen to. (if ambitious matchmaking were as important to her as to her father she never would have made those frey betrothals fandom loves to blame her for.) in her own head there's a deeper urge driving her. she keeps thinking of the dead direwolf with antlers in its throat, an omen which filled her with dread from the first she heard of it, before robert's arrival, and thinking of it again is what makes her desperate to convince ned not to refuse robert. she had to make him see. and really, she's not wrong, as jon snow would say. the dead direwolf was an omen of ned and robert getting each other killed. it's just one of those misread portents, with no way of knowing the danger to ned was in his loyalty to robert, not conflict with him. BUT the next time she's dealing with baratheons, she knows exactly what she's talking about. it's catelyn, not brienne, who sees the shadow slaying renly, and explains that it was stannis who did that through some dark magic. with no way of knowing how it was achieved and no prior expectation that such a thing were ever possible, she realizes with no hestitation that stannis was guilty and that his red witch was capable of pulling this off somehow. really, the only instinct of the supernatural she's wholly wrong about is her insistence that varys gathered his knowledge through some dark enchantment. however, though that might offend varys, given his own personal experience with a sorcerer, i'd say it's a reasonable assumption without knowing the dude had children moving through walls everywhere like oversized rodents. and imo it just shows she had a healthy respect and awe for varys's power which most other characters lack.
oh, oh, and let's not forget that she also believed in the curse of harrenhal, from her own childhood and the stories old nan told her kids. "and every house that held Harrenhal since had come to misfortune. Strong it might be, but it was a dark place, and cursed. 'I would not have Robb fight a battle in the shadow of that keep,' Catelyn admitted." sure, that wasn't enough to save robb, but he did not die from the curse of harrenhal. that doom was meant for his enemies from tywin lannister to roose bolton.

As much as nearly every character she meets tends to act like there's something uniquely broken and wrong with Claudia, at no point does it truly seem to me like there actually really is? I mean, obviously she is extremely fucked up, she straight up went through a serial killer collecting trophies phase, but there's a level of fucked up that's sort of the baseline for every character in the show, and obviously being turned into a vampire as a child puts her at a unique disadvantage. But for all that everyone around her spends their time bemoaning how dreadful and doomed her life is, even Louis who genuinely loves her but also builds so much of his identity around feeling responsible for her Terrible Fate™, I really don't think she's like, fundamentally damaged any more than any of the other vampires are.
But Lestat is so unwilling to be wrong that every time her life hits an inevitable road bump instead of helping her through it he points and says "look! see! she IS a monster, I was right Louis, making her was a mistake!" (and I think he sees his own monstrousness in her but fails to also see her humanity)
And then Armand meets her and sees only someone who will inevitably lose her mind, so of course speeding up the "inevitable" and siding with the coven to plan her death is just a mercy, absolving himself of any blame. (and he projects his own frailty and desire for death onto her, failing to see her strength and her desire for life)
Which makes it so cathartic when she meets Madeleine, admits to her how broken she feels sometimes, and Madeleine's response is just. Well that's normal. Who isn't a little broken these days. Let yourself feel it, move on, let yourself feel it again if you need to. After spending her life having others act as if her emotions are something uniquely dark and worrying, Madeleine's incredibly blase attitude must have been such an incredible breath of fresh air for Claudia!
To spend her whole life being made to feel like something is Wrong™ with her, and then meet someone who's just like, "yeah, and?? Who isn't? Join the club I guess"
Which makes her death so incredibly tragic and frustrating because like. She was fine! She was making a life for herself! She wasn't doomed by her nature, she wasn't "doomed by the narrative" (whatever the fuck that even means), she was doomed for no reason other than that everyone around her (except for Madeleine) preemptively DECIDED she was doomed and never gave her a chance to prove them wrong.

So, I know I'm a little (very) late to the AvA stuff, but I was rewatching AvM Season 3 for the seven hundredth time and, well, I noticed something and I'm curious to know if it's been discussed before.
AvM Episode 29, Purple's story, specifically, Pink's death.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her color changes as she dies, or is represented to have died.
It fades to grey.
Tumblr media
Now, the question is, can we, or rather should we, use this to infer anything lore-related? Was this just an artistic choice to depict the act of becoming unhealthy/dying, or could this be what actually happens to stick figures that die over a period of time? Are their colors linked to their health?
Let's have a bit of fun with it, and presume that the fading of one's color can happen to a stick figure for health-related reasons, as the scene could imply.
This fading seems to involve loosing the saturation of one's color into grey. Saturation is how vibrant a color is, and the complete lack of saturation is greyscale.
The World-of-Alan reason for Pink's death is that she 'got sick', which is where the health connection of this theory comes from. If she did loose her color as she was dying as the notes depict, that loss of color was likely a result of her failing health rather than any other factors, like age or outside variables. A whole bunch of human body stuff are indicators for good vs poor health, including skin color (jaundice and cyanasis are good examples) so why not a stick's color for them?
What if, when they fully die, they lose all of their original color?
Now, let me propose this…
Who else do we know of who has had their color loose vibrancy?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What if Victim's color has lightened because he's ill?

WK Elemental AU
(because I don't have enough AUs already...) Let me introduce you to something thats been rolling around in my brain for a little while now... The Elemental AU!
Tumblr media
Heavily inspired by Avatar the Last Airbender, the elemental AU takes place in a universe where some people are born with the ability to control a specific element. The main difference is instead of the 4 western elements of Earth, Fire, Water, and Air- it's the 5 Chinese elements of Earth, Fire, Water, Wood, and Metal. (Just bc it fit the crew better! and gives me some more room to world-build)
The basic plot remains close to Wild Kratts canon. They travel the world, saving animals from the villains (Who are also elementals!) except instead of relying on technology, or their creature powers, they use their elemental gifts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am planning on writing about this soon since Decoded is coming to an end in only a few weeks. But I figured I would go ahead and introduce it now since I've finished all of their refs!
