Collaborative 2AL Comic Calling and Info!
Oh BOY did this blow up...
Ive polished up dialogue and framing, in total there should be 30 panels, exactly the tumblr image limit haha! Everyone who is participating gets to draw a panel! I will message you the dialogue, and a general layout once I get everyone in! :) I look forward to this!
30/30 Participants [full!]
If you are interested in joining, please message me here on tumblr or Discord! [Discord would be preferred in the long run]
--------
-> Deadline for panels?
2 Weeks! Hoping everything can be ready to go to post by September 24th!
---
-> What style to use?
Your own! I would love it if you can have as much fun as you can making the panel! The more unique each panel is the better, I dont want to constrict anyones artistic ability outside dialogue, where characters are in a room, and a vague framing idea/expressions.
As for coloring, fully colored and digital would be preferred! Just blue blobs can also work! With the exception of 4 specific panels, flashback panels, in a black/white/red scheme to help differentiate what panel is a flashback, and what panel isnt. I will let you know if your panel is one of those specific 4!
---
-> How will posting and crediting work?
When the panels are all done, I will gather them up into a singular post on this blog. Below the comic itself in order of panels would be everyones @ to the blog they want credited, Multiple blogs can also be credited ofc (For example If you drew panel 3 you will be the third @ on the list)
You are also free to add a signature or @ to your blog in the panel art itself!

"Just keep walking straight, we're almost there." Fylass instructed, accompanying Ades through the long corridor.
"Just hope I don't slam my face into something, hahaha." He joked, slightly nervous and confused.
They proceeded to walk for another thirty seconds or so, before the kid finally stopped him:
"Okay, you can take your blindfold off on the count of three. One... Two.... Three!!" They called gleefully. Pleiades untied the cloth, blinked a few times, and soon enough his eyes lit up with shining star bits and his jaw dropped in shock and surprise.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!"
"..H-HOW...."
"Hehehe, Blossom told Dolly and the others! She really wanted them to know, and they decided to organize a super-duper-secret-silly party!! Happy birthday!!!!!"
"Oh, yeah, there's also cake, of course. Come on, pull the ribbon!!" TK cheered, taking a hold of his big brother's hand, dragging him over to the party table, on which lied a flimsy cardboard box. Pleiades did as he was told, and, soon after, the box opened to reveal a beautiful dark chocolate cake.
"Before you ask any more questions; yes, we did find your sneakily hidden 100% cocoa bar in the back of your cupboard. I always knew you were a glutton for bitter stuff, but... wow." Selene called him out mockingly, his face contracted in a humiliated expression.
"I art sorry I hathn't found anything that strong for thee, I hope thee wilt still enjoy this cake in it's sweetness--"
"Are you kidding?! Dero, I didn't even expect anyone to know when my birthday was, let alone a birthday party and cake!!" Ades cut him off, surprised by his words.
"Alrighty, Mister Secret. Only one more thing before you dig in, be patient." Twilight teased him as they handed him a... letter?
He opened it, and started reading out loud:
"We know you may not know how special this day really is, you've probably done this thousands of times. But this is the first time we get to live it together, so let us thank you for everything you've done for us.
Thank you for always showing your support for me, defending me from my father, putting your own safety at risk.
Thank you for playing with Dolly and letting her show you every little thing, making sure she never felt alone anymore.
Thank thou for always offering a shoulder to cry on, and having my back at even the darkest of times.
Thank you for helping me reach the stars, comforting me every step of the way, drawing your sword just to protect me.
Thank you for being my brother, for holding my hand tight as I fought all my fears, never leaving my side, no matter what.
Thank you for being with us. Happy Birthday, Sir Pleiades."
As he finished reading the letter, he took a shaky breath, his hands trembling as he tucked the letter away in his cape, trying to wipe away tears with his paw before they could start dropping down. The others wrapped him in an affectionate embrace, and, as he finally gave in and accepted the hug, he somehow also felt the vague presence of another soul...
"Happy Birthday, Pleiades."

still thinking abt the bllk s2 trailer bc makes me so upset. not bc its horrible, but bc of all the ways it COULDVE looked good.
s1 had sliding frames like those that were shown in the trailer, but you could tell that effort was put in to create the illusion of movement: the swaying of the hair, the limbs moving slightly, the subtle movement of other characters--there wasn't not much animation but at least they tried to compensate for it. and that was with all the production issues they had.
the s2 trailer didnt even have that. the characters slided across the screen with zero animation, several shots had only one character moving while the rest stayed frozen in a pose that was clearly in motion.
Theres this one scene where it showed a close-up of isagi's feet running (3d but well-done imo) and then isagi passing the ball to rin. And this looked good! the movement felt natural and it flowed well! and then they fucking ruined it by cutting to rin sliding behind another player.
there was a shot of hiori passing the ball, except instead of showing at the very least subtle movement of his leg, they cut to a still frame. that shot of chigiri receiving the ball? no hair swaying, no movement of his limbs-just a png photo moving across the screen.
it makes the characters feel so lifeless and stiff, and takes away the high intensity of the scenes. and they thought these were the best scenes to include in the TRAILER?
i cant tell if this lack of attempt to at least create the illusion of movement is due to the complicated designs or just pure laziness on 8bit's part, but ever since that leak abt s2, the latter is starting to appear more plausible. it just makes me so angry that a trailer that had many good things going for it was ruined by the poor decisions for the actual animation itself.
