Originally these were just design mashups, at least, that was the plan for my "redesigns"... but it really made me realize how little they change Red throughout the generations. hence why he looks VERY similar to his canon design, i just added some things i guess. for Blue i could go absolutely ham with things i wanted in his design since there's so much to choose from. the fang idea comes from my friend. also, these are pretty much used for an AU based off of the RG project romhack by @shima-draws (i hope tagging is okay aaa) bc i played it with my friend and we really liked it and it converted him into a pokemon fan and namelessshipper :) In the end we made our own AU based off of it because other characters got thrown into it. we're continuing the timeline in soul silver :p

Here's a design for Leaf, she's Red's sister in my headcanon, i again went for the design mashup thing so that's why she looks like a mashup of Green and Leaf. i don't have much to say here....

Then there's some designs i can't show but it's for the reason that they are just human + trainer versions of sonic exes (not joking, i wish i was. my friend dragged them into our mini-roleplays, only two and they were Red's traveling companions and later Kris's too.)

Then here's a redesign inspired by other Daisy designs. dunno why but i just wanted her to be pink....

And drew Red and Blue in alola. married dudes -w- Just in general my headcanon is that Red collects keychains, he probably has boxes worth of keychains and puts different ones on his bag every day, he even did this as a child he just didn't stop even into adulthood. Still a kid at heart with his silly keychains more headcanon rambles: Blue hates the cold but loves the warmth and Red loves the cold and hates the warmth. please put him into a freezer he can't handle the heat of alola- also yeah i know i messed up the number on Red's shirt, i learned how to draw 96 after this, i promise

And now we get to Pokemon Soul Crystal,,, which is just pokemon soul silver but with a patch that makes Lyra into Kris lol

Here she is!! i tried incorporating some bits from Lyra and her comfy outfit is based off of Gold i swear i love Kris's design in canon, the hair is a lil funky tho so i made the pigtails a bit shorter and poofier

then we got Silver here... again not much change, i love his design, i just wanted to add some moon details bc why not

Blue is supposed to look like he's been crying (sorry Blue :C) Red just makes me think of pokepastas im sorry, once he gets off mt. silver he'll get a haircut. Leaf is just. i dunno, i don't really know how to characterize her... she cares a lot about people but she's kinda bitchy about it. tough love i guess.. I think after soul crystal is over i'll get working on an continuation of that that isn't tied to a game where she gets more of an important role so i can work on her character. Blue is wearing lots of reds/warmer tones cause why not and Red is supposed to wear lots of blues/colder tones to give a little bit of a connection i guess.

I still love his character for the most part, but also yikes.. I almost want to just live in a fanon universe where he didn't act the way he did back in Brendok but that's easier said than done emotionally

Yeah you get me. I can still draw Jecki, im used to character death in media now it's no big deal. More angst more ideas lol. But it's a diff story for Sol tho. I admit I have my own bias towards Sol cuz of his father's instinct, and also it's the first time I have an Asian Jedi Master who's wise and likable (my other fav was Plo Koon). So the reveal hurts way worse. I still think that there's a much better way to handle their story while staying in character and still having the same tragic outcome, still putting Sol in the position of someone living w his guilt and shame. The canon event did make him a much more interesting and complex character, yes, but I can't help feeling like he's made to be a punching bag for the narrative atp. Again, great premise, not so good execution, imo.

And yeah now I can't draw him without feeling shitty because all I want to draw is his fatherly interaction w the kids. I could, if i want to. But once I post it online, I can't stop ppl from coming in and saying "well uh actually he did that", and "Jecki and Yord would not like him" yada yada. I read everyone's tags and cmt, and as a non-confrontational person, it will affect me and make me feel shitty even more. So im just gonna protect my own peace and go back to my safe space haha. @mellon-soup - has an INCREDIBLE repetoir of pose references. Here's their insta handle!

PROKO - has a lot of really great drawing fundamental resources on their YouTube channel for free. They also have paid online courses that go more in depth!

PoseManiacs - I used this when I was trying to learn and practice poses as well!

@miyuliart - on Twitter (or X , whatever it is) has a lot of great posts regarding pose study and anatomy! She even has some books for purchase too.

Above I've listed just a few of the many many many resources out there to study poses. These tend to be the people I look to most for references, tho they aren't the only ones!

If you're looking to practice and get better at anatomy and the fluidity of your poses, I would suggest starting by drawing actual people first. That way you know how real bodies move and twist and turn and what masclues go where. It makes simplifying and stylizing easier down the road!

Something I did a LOT, and honestly still do a lot, is find pictures of people or art of characters whose poses I like and just try to draw what I see. I have sketchbooks fuuulll of poses I copied just to practice! Tracing can definitely have it's value as well when you're learning!

I utilize Pinterest a lot to creat difference boards for reference photos I may need, and it's come in handy quite often!

I can show you how *I * draw bodies in general, but know that I kind of flub around until something starts to feel right haha. I'm still learning and practicing as well! How I draw bodies may now work for you and that's chill! Its all about trying out lots of different styles and seeing what you like best, or what methods make sense to you.

Fair warning: this probs isn't the most accurate tutorial, I just kinda threw something down as a general example hehe. I'm preaching about references but didn't want to use one at the moment cus I'm tired haha

Often my sketches are much messier and I just make lots of lines so I can find the "right one" lol.

recently I've been very called to start worship with dinoysus, as a punk kid, a pansexual trans man, and lover of the arts, I feel as if he's a god I can find comfort in. I get so nervous bringing in a new god into my practice though, I worry that since the relationship is so new, I'll get bored of it....but I'm getting better at it!! Hopefully this post will move me more into wanting to worship him lol, but anyways heres the master post!!

WHO IS DINOYSUS

Dinoysus is the god of wine-making, orchards and fruit, vegetation, fertility, festivity, insanity, ritual madness, religious ecstasy, and theatre. He was depicted as either an older, bearded god or an effeminate, long-haired youth. His attributes included the thyrsos (a pine-cone tipped staff), a drinking cup and a crown of ivy. He was usually accompanied by a troop of Satyrs and Mainades (wild female devotees). Dionysos' sacred animals were the panther (leopard), tiger, bull and serpent. The god rode on the back of a panther or drove a chariot drawn by a pair of the beasts.

His sacred plants were the grapevine, ivy, bindweed (prickly ivy) and pine tree. Devotees of the god wore wreaths of ivy and carried pine-cone tipped staffs.

WHAT IS DINOYSUS ROLE?

I couldn't find much on dinoysus's worship other than the cults that was made in his honor, more specifically the Mainades. In Greek mythology, maenads were female followers of dinoysus. They were portrayed as inspired by Dionysus into a state of ecstatic frenzy through a combination of dancing and intoxication. During these rites, the maenads would dress in fawn skins and carry a thyrsus, a long stick wrapped in ivy or vine leaves and tipped with a pine cone. They would weave ivy-wreaths around their heads or wear a bull helmet in honor of their god, and often handle or wear snakes.

In ceramic art, the frolicking of Maenads and Dionysus is often a theme depicted on kraters, used to mix water and wine. These scenes show the maenads in their frenzy running in the forests, often tearing to pieces any animal they happen to come across. (I also read somewhere that they performed huge orgies while drunk to become "possessed" by the god and were cannibalistic as well. I have no idea if the cannibal thing is true tho, everything else Is.)

In a less intense way of worship, worshippers of dinoysus would host plays and parties in his name.

Worshippers now are often trans, lgbtq+, poc, foreigners/immigrants, people who love the arts, and stuff of that sorts!

The whole challenge was, well, a challenge. I remember struggling from day 1 to 30 because I'm terrible at studies, I tend to filter and filter and filter and... But I like the results!! Ouch, poor Gregory. He’s probably been abandoned far too many times. And Vanessa too. She WANTS to do the right thing, but…there’s a lot of factors outside her control. Besides the whole “made to murder children with a knife” thing. How is going to handle the cost that come with looking after him? What if the cops come after her?

Loved the shading in those last few panels. Definitely added to Vanessa’s mood.

Ugh, I feel you, Freddy. Those two SUCK at communicating. But then again, one’s a eleven year old orphan who grew up on the streets, and a few hours ago,the other was in a position where communication LITERALLY meant a painful death at her hands to anyone who listened, so I can’t really blame them. But…I REALLY hope it gets resolved fairly soon. Pretty please? Maybe by the time they get to Vanessa’s place?

In spite of all that, it is my firm belief those two NEED each other, as well as others (*cough* Glamrocks) for the journey ahead. And, over time, they WILL become family, I have no doubt of that.

And thank you so much! I'm glad it did, i wanted to experiment a bit with mood and feelings of things on my art, be a little bit more expressive, and well, the shading suddenly popping in when the comic itself doesn't have shading? Boom! Adds more flair and drama!

Tho i wasn't so sure how well it would go, hyt well, glad it went well! I really enjoyed shading it, and it was my favourite part of this one

As for Freddy, heh, the comic aint called "Home is where Freddy is" for nothin (it actually is for nothing, the name was a random bundle of words a friend came up with while we brainstormed ideas for titles lol)

● It took me an embarrassingly long amout of time to realize that Helluva Boss is meant to sound like Hell of a boss, then it took me EVEN LONGER to realize that Blitzø is the Hell of a boss, as the title suggests

● I am what my family calls "A crackshot" and have three gold medals in marksmanship that I got in a conpetition when I was 14 (I beat all the 18 year olds hehehe)

● The sketch requests are to cure my boredom/practice and improve my art skills, so they are free

● Don't request anything too specific. I obv won't be able to recreate the exact pose you have envisioned the character in, so just suggest the character and I'll handle posing

● Anyone can send requests

● Will only do 1-2 characters per page, but I may make an exception if the characters are small

● All characters are allowed, minus characters from adult shows/movies, such as Hazbin Hotel or Helluva Boss

Is your magic system based on anything?

If you were in your story, what role do you think you’d play (sorry if this is a weird question, it’s just what I do when I write)? Like as an example, who would you be friends with, who would you be against?

Oh this is kinda surprising lol I wasn't expecting more questions! Thanks again for asking, and I think I'll post a small bit of writing after this :]

1. Honestly my magic system isn't fully mine lol, my friend @\mykz-artchive has a whole world with a bunch of stories and I made FGCC in it to explore some stuff about the magic - as to the way I portray it, though, I'd say there's a lot of stuff that I tend to get inspired by, ig some examples of that are The Owl House, Fullmetal Alchemist Undertale

Idk if you want that but I'm also going to explain some stuff about the magic that is important: Magic in this world is sorted into two types, those being Elemental Magic, where you control the four standard elements, lightning, light, darkness, and pretty much any sort of matter, and Manipulation Magic, where you influence the way matter acts, like changing its weight ir size, its general properties, or even doing stuff like healing. Most people tend to use the former, with the latter being quite uncommon. Additionally, naturally occurring "wild" Magic is quite volatile, so its use was illegal until a bit before the events of my story, with most people just using the less dangerous, artificially processed and toned down "tamed" Magic. Lastly, people in this world don't have the physical capabilities to handle many different types of magic so the most you'll ever see someone using is three, with most people using either one or two. There's a lot more that is important about the magic system but this is what I can say without making this answer dar too long LMAO

2. That's a really interesting question! I'm not really that sociable and I'm really introverted so I'm not really sure, from the main cast I think the person I have the highest chance of being close to is Octavia, so I'd probably be with her when Shit Goes Down and things get messy with her, Spark and Fern (she does kinda have her own friend group off in the background but I wouldn't be with them that often since I don't think we'd even have overlapping classes lol)

3. Ok so I don't write much and my skills for dealing with art block are terrible but I'll try to answer this lmao

Honestly I'm dealing with a bit of art block right now, I haven't been able to come up with a new outfit for Dew in days and it's getting really really annoying, so what I try to do sometimes is to either juggle WIPs I already have to see if anything gets done, I doodle stuff I'm already familiar with like just the characters' faces, or I try to mess with older drawings to see if I can make anything better (even if it's just coloring better lol). Right now, I'm going to pass a bunch of older notebook drawings over to my sketchbook so I can actually post them without the annoying-ass lines in the notebook, and I hope that'll help a bit with going back to Dew later :]

4. I think since late 2020, my oldest post is from September 4th so it's probably from around then, though I only really started using Tumblr I think in late 2022 when I started to post art here lol

Huge fuckass storm just ripped through here and knocked my power out 😭

And suddenly I'm up at 3am thinking, what if I rewatch the English and write my thoughts/analysis per ep LMAO

I've been wanting to rewatch it, I devoured it so quickly it was so rich and thought provoking I couldn't turn away

And I've been thinking about it a bit, randomly dipped into the tag to look at gifs and like... Fuck.... That show is a piece of art, I suppose I like that it's a limited series so the story could say it's whole piece with a lush attention to detail, but there's parts of it that just make me want MORE.

And not even another season, I just wish there was another episode or two, there's so much of it and part of what I like is that it's not all spelled out for you, you have to appreciate the symbolism and undertones to the story, but there's still some things I wish we could have delved more into... It's also def a situation where I feel like the exploration of the indigenous characters and their struggles was well thought out and well observed, but limited by the fact that at the end of the day it's a white production w a white director, tho the actor did speak on feeling like he really had the room to develop and inhabit this character in a way that felt cathartic. I thought these story elements were handled well and I'm kind of obsessed with the way that Eli's story is trickled out in bits and hints, it works and I understand why, but I just wish we could have more time.... Which I guess is a major theme of it all, huh :')

I like that it was a deliberate choice to center this story on a feminist and indigenous pov, with a lot of common Western themes of adversity, of maintaining your humanity in a wild and harsh environment, and as a modern Western making clear statements about the humanity that is stripped away by colonization etc without making the whole thing a struggle piece, it's still beautiful and action packed and subversive in a lot of ways, I'm barely holding in a whole torrent of words about this tbh

LISTEN! This post is a stream of thoughts mess for no one lol like I said it's 3 am and a very scary storm just tore up my hood (I'm ok though!!)

But I can't stop thinking about it, I can't articulate my thoughts well about a lot of nitty gritty stuff bc it's been a while and I binged it HARD, and I haven't had the focus for anything but what if..... I could make myself focus on studying this damn show lol

A Little Solo Exploration in Italy

Tak... I took advantage of our class absence policy and decided to make a trip to Milan and Venice this week! Typically, I don't like missing class because it's just so stressful to catch up afterward, but for the few days I was in Prague, all I did was grind and rest so I could enjoy this trip to the fullest. Plus, I'd never gone to Italy before and really really wanted to make it there before the end of my program :)

It was so nice to see another one of my friends in Milan. Staying with her and hanging out kinda felt like I was studying abroad there too; in the sense that this trip was much more relaxing than my travels typically are. (We watched 9 episodes of the show Suits in the 3 days I visited Milan)

The city itself was gorgeous too. I actually found out when I arrived that Design Week was happening too, which means that tons of exhibitions opened around the city showcasing different art and interior design things. Some favorites were this flowery one with pastel furniture pieces---ngl I have no idea what the flowers had to do with it--- and this one in a river/canal about sustainable boats. I actually walked to the water one just thinking it was a cool dock but it turned out to be an exhibit.

My friend taught me some Italian, thankfully, because it surprised me how many people didn't speak English. In Prague, I feel like most of the time I try using Czech, the person immediately switches to English because they can hear my accident haha. Despite that people were super nice, and I also randomly heard a lot of French and Mandarin being spoken? More on that later

In terms of things I saw, I explored SO much of the city. One of the days I went out on my own and walked from the Southwest to the Northeast corner... I actually really enjoy having little solo adventures when I'm traveling. Sometimes coordinating with other people and trying to find places everyone wants to go to gets tiring (not the case here but in general). Nevertheless, it does get lonely and I'm a big "make random comments on the things I'm walking by person" so it's always nice to have company then. My friend came with me the next day tho and I'd have to say my favorite part was going up to the Duomo terraces with her! The architecture and details are just insane. We looked it up and it took 600 years to complete the church.

As for Venice, a nice summary of my trip would be walking, water, churches, and more walking ahaha. I'm starting to think I have a walking obsession because for my one full day in Venice I literally walked a half marathon in distance. It was so beautiful with the blue skies though. Very picturesque and I ended up with too many pictures as evidenced by all the pics in this post.

Food was delicious ofc, although I'd have to say I've had enough Italian food for the rest of my program. I can only handle so much pizza, pasta, and bread sorryyy, but gelato I could get again definitely (I ate gelato for three straight days)

Also went a bit spontaneous on my planning because friends said I should just wander and explore, so some of the best things were this bookstore that uses books to damn the area during high tide, taking a waterbus down the Grand Canal (would SO recommend), and going to Murano and Burano which are other islands in the Venetian lagoon.

It was so cool seeing everything, but all the walking made me miss traveling in a group because I started to get bored towards the afternoon. (I literally texted my friends I missed them lol) Sooo I am so glad to be back in Prague and not traveling the last weeks too. Besides a quick trip to Krakow, I'm done flying and training places. On one hand it's a little sad because that means the end is coming, but on the other, I get to rest and enjoy home :)
