wow.. to see a good worldbuilding of how the world reacts to dinos getting on mainland, there are many that needed actual care for their mental state, many who are disturbed by the reality of their world, THUS creating the dinosaur free zone island to HELP these people in need, to see a good representation of a character fighting her mental illness, getting the support she deserved from the previous series, and hell now embracing her strength and keep on fighting with that shit because yes, mental illness isn't just a SILLY conflict to deal with. to see this such topic getting it's own highlight? and to be able to give awareness that YES, mentally ill people getting therapy IS REAL, and oh my fucking god the dinos starting to get into the island and eating people as a metaphor for the obvious illness which is ptsd, that the fear could really be real even when it has passed, that i could really ended up in that same situation and nightmare AGAIN,

I like to think that Darius has a fear of the ocean or just big body's of water.

In S4Ep1 he went into the ocean to get the boat unstuck from kelp. Only to find out there's a shark coming his direction. Darius was already getting scared of dying or getting hurt from the shark and to make things worse the water starts to get rough and pull him back while hes trying to stay above water and swim back to the boat he sees the mosasaurus.

Darius must have been terrified this kid was being dragged under water thinking he's gonna die from a shark and then the mosasaurs. And now that the mosasaurs is in the ocean and she could be anywhere. For example in JW fallen Kingdom we saw the mosasaurs with surfers. And another scene with a boat.

So if Darius went to a beach he would probably go in ankle deep water or not even at all. He would be thinking of what would happen if he went in deeper or if the mosasaurs was there in the water. Not just the mosasaurs but also shark's there a more possible chance of seeing a shark then the mosasaurs in the water. And sharks can get closer to people.

And now Darius is on a cargo ship in CT. Ofc this boat is big it's probably safe but it's something to think about. The mosasaurs could slam into the ship and cause the containers to shift or it could keep being aggressive to the boat.

Now what if he went to a lake or river. He can go in. But what about the spinosaurus. Darius has some terrifying experience with the Spino while on MC Island. Like really up close too now it's probably not as bad as the mosasaurs but I still think he would be cautious.

Atrociraptors in CT Trailer

Sooo I analyzed every single scene with the atrociraptor pack in the Chaos Theory trailer to put together a timeline and here it is...

The atrociraptor on the left is Panthera (pictured 1st below) and on the right is Tiger (pictured 2nd below) based on their coloration and patterning.

They also appear to be outside of Darius' cabin (which we get a clear look at in the teaser trailer).

This presumably happens closer to the beginning of the show, after Ben talks with Darius for the first time. The second time we see an atrociraptor is in the scene with Sammy:

I think this atrociraptor is also Tiger, given the stripes on her back and forearms. This means that at some point, Tiger traveled from Darius' cabin to Sammy's ranch, probably before Darius and Ben meet up with Sammy (since she's alone).

Tiger is also pictured very briefly in this scene (again identifiable because of the unique stripes):

Which leaves one scene with an atrociraptor in the trailer- the scene where Kenji punches a dingo

This looks like Panthera, given the lack of stripes and the ruddy brown coloration. This atrociraptor is also likely Panthera, since her belly is devoid of stripes:

Which means that both Ghost (pictured 1st below) and Red (pictured 2nd below) don't appear in the trailer at all.

Which makes me wonder if they'll be included in Chaos Theory at all, or if they're being saved for something special. Ghost's status is actually unknown as of the end of JW Dominian (since she fell into the sea of Malta), but Red is still known to be alive.

Last night I got high and wrote a program to find all of the unused elemental symbols. It turns out there’s 585 of them and it’s much less interesting the next day.

One interesting finding: I couldn’t be bothered to generate all possible one and two letter strings, so I asked ChatGPT to write me code that would do all that for me. It worked surprisingly well!

I was pretty sure I was the ideal audience for The Lost City. And - TLDR - I did really enjoy it the first time I saw it but have struggled to get through it on the second time of viewing, a year later. (WHY?)

Still loved the opening though - the setting and the scrubbing out.

First - why am I the ideal audience?

Do I love Romancing the Stone? Back in the day, wholeheartedly. These days? Probably, definitely, undeniably not ALL of it. Hasn't ALL aged very well, has it? But Kathleen Turner's Joan Wilder and the journey/s she goes on, particularly the emotional one? YES PLEASE.

Sandra Bullock is Loretta Sage who is a sort of Joan Wilder for the 2020s. Both are super successful romance novelists, but LS leans academic and tough, plus also - grieving - whereas JW is ALL Mills and Boon, soft, longing for love, cat-lady-in-training material. Both end up on a treasure quest because someone took their books a bit too seriously (although, sometimes having your books taken seriously can be a good thing, per this lovely clip via YouTube, below).

Do I love Lara Croft? Not as much as I feel I should. Shout-out to Brad Pitt's character cameo (I think it's a cameo?) as a guy who surely would be at home in either of those movies IMO.

Do I love Indiana Jones? Is the Pope a major figure in the Roman Catholic church? Does Indy have a fraught relationship with snakes?

See - makes sense of the snakes, right (and I can 100% imagine the writers being like FINALLY I have chance to question the snake logic!)

Big shout-out to Daniel Radcliffe who for me was the absolute and slightly unexpected highlight of this movie, especially on the second run at it, and who could have credibly villained up in any of the previously mentioned flicks, or, another obvious inspo - James Bond.

Closer to home - am I a big fan of Sandra Bullock?

Yes, really am, and I think my favourite of her movies remains 1995's While You Were Sleeping though I accept that the dumb McGuffin that gets the plot going is now considered ethically ICK (and, it was never, as such, a move we were supposed to approve of?)

But come on - is this guy... leaning? Still (to me) adorable.

BTW had absolutely not realised how Proto-Sopranos the landlord guy is (can't remember - is that his role/relationship to the SB character? - can't quite summon the energy to go and find out). And, indeed, having looked up the actor, he was considered for Tony Soprano when that series was created a few years later (greenlit 1997 and on screens from, I think, 1999) and played a small role in S1.

I did really enjoy the Channing Tatum character, though he was playing, of course, a zillion times softer than in my current favourite of his movies. No, not Magic Mike. Not even Step Up* (which I liked).

[*There's a moment later on in The Lost City where they dance and - wow - it's really something to see someone on screen who can REALLY move. SB perhaps not so much, but CT? Fluid to the max.]

For reasons that probably speak to some personality deficiency or psychosis, my fave CT movie is 2013's White House Down, naturally:

So - the issue? The out-of-water environment was GREAT. The constant references to ridiculous treasure hunt / action adventure movies also really worked for me. I think big picture the movie stands or falls on how much the viewer can believe there's a soft, worthwhile person under the surface of SB's dismissive, superior veneer and whether it's fun to watch Person In Position of Power Being Mean to Lovely Softer Person Who For No Obvious Reason Adores Them.

Turns out that I can go with that only once.

Perhaps 1st time through I'm expecting the Mean Person to get over themselves faster. On a second viewing, my patience is lower and I want her to behave better, faster. No, I don't think that being scared of moving on or commitment or fresh heartbreak is a good excuse.

It's also a close revival of The Proposal - except that CT is all sweetness, no snark while RR is always at least a little bit of a blend.

I enjoyed The Proposal - but I didn't entirely enjoy it. (And again, there's some secondary material that hopefully wouldn't make the cut if it was being made now and that would be frankly unregretted.)

PS Thought RR's snark was on point with his birthday message to SB last year - how very on brand to reshare this Gorgeous Bodies image while simultaneously joking about how industry standards have changed AND, I think, by doing this publicly, jokily, reaffirming the idea that this was one of the movies With Nothing To Hide.

Yasonna Laoly Raih Penghargaan atas Dedikasinya Terhadap Penegakkan Hukum di Indonesia

Jakarta - Menteri Hukum dan HAM, Yasonna H. Laoly, meraih penghargaan dalam CNN Indonesia Award 2024 kategori ‘Outsanding Dedication to Law Enforcement and Anti Corruption Movement’. Ia dinilai telah mendukung proses penegakkan hukum dan pemberantasan korupsi di Indonesia.

Penghargaan itu diserahkan oleh Chairman CT Corp ,Chairul Tanjung kepada Yasonna di Hotel JW Marriott Medan, Jumat (09/08/2024).

Yasonna menjelaskan bahwa penerapan sistem pemerintahan berbasis elektronik sangat penting dalam mendukung gerakan anti-korupsi. Dengan teknologi digital, pelayanan publik bisa dilakukan dengan cepat dan tanpa kecurangan.

“Kemenkumham adalah salah satu yang terbaik dalam sistem pemerintahan berbasis elektronik. Hanya dengan penggunaan teknologi digital, menggunakan teknologi informasi, kita bisa mempercepat pelayanan publik, dan mengurangi kecurangan,” ungkapnya.

Pemimpin Kemenkumham selama dua periode ini memberikan perhatian serius terhadap penegakkan hukum, termasuk memerangi korupsi. Di tahun 2019 saja, 43 satuan kerja Kemenkumham telah diakui sebagai Zona Integritas.

Dari jumlah tersebut, 39 di antaranya mendapatkan predikat Wilayah Bebas dari Korupsi (WBK) dan empat lainnya berpredikat Wilayah Birokrasi Bersih dan Melayani (WBBM).

Selain itu, Yasonna menyebutkan bahwa Kemenkumham telah melakukan beberapa langkah mendukung penegakkan hukum, di antaranya mendorong revisi peraturan dan mengesahkan Undang-undang yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan Indonesia.

"Saya terus mencoba melakukan yang terbaik dengan latar belakang yang ada melakukan beberapa perbaikan, perbaikan," katanya saat menerima penghargaan.

Yasonna sendiri memiliki latar belakang sebagai akademisi bidang hukum. Ia kemudian terjun ke dunia politik sebagai anggota DPRD dan DPR RI. Selanjutnya, Yasonna ditunjuk sebagai Menteri Hukum dan HAM sejak tahun 2014 hingga sekarang.
