#kaa headcanons (mostly- as a personal kind of thing for this blog)

It’s 11:22 PM where I am right now, and I’m feeling rather funky tonight. So, out of a sheer willingness to find a reason to stay up some, I’m gonna write down headcanons for my blogs’s Kaa, the Python. (Maybe get some of him and Sir Hiss as a duo maybe hmm yeah…)
(Ahem.)
-Debatable if that one doodle I made with him next to the Asexual-Biromantic flag actually sticks with him here, but if it does; yes, he thinks both men and women are cute, but anyone asking to do it with him is gonna get a couple of confused blinks. As if he has no clue how to respond to that. He probably doesn’t even KNOW he might be tied to the Ace-Biromantic thing.
-If he were a human, he’s the kind of guy to trip over his own feet.
-If he were a human, he’s the kind of guy to randomly try on something feminine, and anyone who asks why is just gonna get a “becaussse I felt like it.”
-There are LEAPS and BOUNDS you have to get through to get to this side of him (most of the time, there are exceptions), but there’s probably the smallest part of him that can still care for another person. His Jungle Cubs persona would awkwardly flare and he’d silently hate himself for it.
-He hates tigers. No discussion. He hates tigers.
-Kaa and Sir Hiss meeting would consist of: Sir Hiss being jumpscared by Kaa and Kaa sort of going ‘…woah another sssnake? :0’
-If he were a human, Kaa would hate wearing certain kinds of shoes.
-Sir Hiss would probably try teaching Kaa any form of manners, just for Kaa to go “hehehe breaking peoples’s shins and putting multiple people in trances for funnies go brrr.”
-The two would probably have a hypnotist-staring-contest, debatable who would win.
-Kaa HAS probably tried eating either Prince John or King Richard at least one time. Sir Hiss made sure he DIDN’T, but he probably came close those times.
-Sir Hiss and Kaa would probably have a ‘friends with a chaotic neutral,’ and ‘the chaotic neutral’ dynamic.
Running out of steam, here’s the final blow.
(INHALE)
-Sir Hiss and Kaa both have big cats in their life and they would totally talk about their own personal big cat as a conversation topic sometimes.
Okay I’m done. :)

It’s the first ever Ask Sythe Give Away!!!!
Ehh... I’m feeling so happy right now. I’m guessing most of you already know this but I work in publishing industry based out of my home country Vietnam. I mostly do celeb books and deal with the technical side (licensing, ISBN registration, intellectual property rights, print production management). Aside from that though, I do have a few number of friends among artistic and illustrator community and have collecting art books as a hobby. To make it short, two of my friends from Kaa Illustration recently participated in the production of an art illustrated poem book called 5 Mùa (lit. 5 seasons). They just got published, so it’s fresh off the print press. Since I’m a publishing professional, I know how hard it is for young artists to get published in a country where the state controls and censor almost every aspect of publishing industry. It’s tough let me tell you that. So many hoops to jump through. And these guys have talents too. Last year they won the Singaporean Scholastic Children Picture Book Award for their picture book First Journey. Right now I’m bursting at the seams with pride and happiness for them. They are quite a few years younger than me, but they are already making a lot of progress in their publishing career. Ahh... it makes me feel so excited!
Anyhow, I want to share that. Ergo, this give away. I have 3 items to give away to 3 different people.
1/ The 5 Mùa Art Illustrated Poem Book. Well, the poems are in Vietnamese so large chances are you won’t be able to read it. Still, it’s a beautifully illustrated book. The first 4 pics are from the art book.
2/ A print canvas painting (50x25 cm) also from Kaa Illustration. It’s the second to last picture. It’s a scene out of their award winning children story book ‘First Journey’. It tells the story of a boy’s first day to school. In order to get to his school, he has to go by boat, alone, through the Mekong river and numerous hardship (gigantic anaconda, a herd of river buffalo, great waves and eddies, etc...) in order to reach school. The story sounds like it’s out of a fairy tale, but in actuality it tells the true story of many children living in Mekong Delta river region. Many children actually do have to go through journey just like the boy in this picture book to get to education. You can see more of the book here.

Not sure if it’s on sale yet. Probably already but I don’t have the full details right now.
3/ A print canvas painting (35x49cm): last pic. This one is a contribution from a friend to the Arts for Peace initiative during their mid 2016 campaign against the polluting of the Vietnam coastal sea region.
Rules of the give-away:
Uhh... I’m not actually sure how to do this part. As I understand it, people do tumblr give-away as a way to share the fun and to promote their blog and website? Right? So they usually ask you to reblog or subscribe... right?
Uh... well... let’s not do that. I’m not much for promoting and stuff. I made this blog just as a way for readers to connect to me and for fun is all. I don’t much care for making it bigger and such. I’m kind of a shy, introverted person too so the thought of my follower count ballooning is not such a pleasant thing. I like how it is right now (despite already being a published author and having real life fans... I know... I’m still a very private person who find it difficult to handle social situations in crowds). Cozy and just the right size. Anyhow, so... no need to reblog or subscribe or any of that stuff. If you want to share it to your friends and acquaintances, sure go ahead. So long as they will treasure the art book and paintings though. I really would not like for people to just participate because it’s random free stuff. I hate seeing art works being mistreated and unappreciated.
On the other hand, I would like to hear your thoughts and feelings though. Since the purpose of this blog is connecting and the sharing of thoughts. It can be anything. Your thoughts on my stories. The good and the bad. Your experience. What you want me to do or write in the year 2017. Well wishes maybe? Maybe your opinions about the art works or just cultural stuff in general? Your theories and stuff or your headcanons. Ehh.. I guess almost anything goes? So long as it’s something with thoughts and heart to it? You can either reply to this post or just post an ask or a submission. I prefer by ask or submission. Easier for me to share if it’s something really good (like a random theory or elaborate and carefully thought out headcanon for example. Ooohh... that would be cool!! Think I will get anything like that? I hope! Crossing my fingers here!)
I will choose the 3 persons by random picking (probably using a random selecting engine on the internet) and mail the stuff to them. As to the deadline (urghh... I hate that word! That word is my nightmare!!) of this give-away. How about... hmmm... maybe 2 weeks from now? Jan 19th 2017? Is that enough time for people?
Anyhow, happy new year guys! Hoping 2017 doesn’t abuse us like 2016 did. The effing bastard...
