Hello! Hru? I love ur blog soo muchh♡ may I request human! Reader (from Kagome's world) who's really strong? Like the reader surprised the Inuyasha men (inuyasha, naraku and sesshomaru:> if you're not comfortable with these you can always change!) When a demon tried to attack her & the men tried to save reader but stop when they see her beating the demon up with bare hands or with a weapon she found brutally💀😭 And they just stood there dumbfounded like how tf🧍‍♂️? And when they ask how is she so strong, reader just shrugs and goes like "martial arts?"
Thank you and feel free to use any pronounces! I just wanna read sumn for once that doesn't have weak reader pls I'm so tired 💀💀
Hey anon! Sorry this is so late. I do agree with you on the last part. I'm tired of the weak reader all the time too. People gotta switch it up you know?
Strong ass Human!Reader in the Feudal Era with Inuyasha, Sesshomaru, and Naraku:
Inuyasha:
Tumblr media
Reveling in the heroism of saving a nearby village, the group started their journey elsewhere. Trekking through the forest, your rag-tag group ran into a boisterous pig yokai. Who, unfortunately, became smitten with your looks.
"I will have you as my bride. And we can make all the hanyou I want!"
Ew. The initial response was to ignore the pig. There've been many demons who would bother the group. And, after the fight you all came from, you just wanted to make camp. Inuyasha grumbled a quick, "Piss off," as the group passes by.
But, it seemed that the Pig was serious about his stupid claim. He bares his teeth and shoots forward at you, grabbing your legs. World tipping over, your head thumps against a patch of lush grass. How lucky. However, you felt a strong pull on your leg, dragging your body away from your friends.
Hell fuck no! In the midst of the dragging, your bag was in the perfect position to grab easily. With how quickly things happened, Inuyasha jumpstarts to save you. You grab the bulky hammer in your bag, hiding it from view.
The pig yokai guffaws and throws you over his shoulder. "When I see someone worthy of being a bride, it's my right to claim-OOUGH"
One hit to the dome scratched some skin off and left his brain to rattle. "WHAT THE-." The next swing made contact with his cheek, sending sanguine liquid onto the ground. The pig stood there shocked, with blood leaking from his mouth.
He gets angry and charges at you, again. This time, he wouldn't get you. Grounding yourself, you kick him back, which sends him flying back a few feet. Taking charge, you jump and start to gruesomely work on his head with the hammer.
"What da HELL!!! Y/N!!!" Inuyasha yells. He's totally flabbergasted. His eyes and mouth are so wide, it's comical. There's the desire to step in and protect you, but it's so impressed how strong and ferocious those swings were. Inuyasha didn't want to interrupt. It was kind of hot.
Although, Inuyasha is a little peeved that you didn't let him know how strong you were. The way you sent him back with that kick was unexpected. He starts cheering you on.
"Way to go Y/N!" He's standing there smiling with his hands on his hips. Once the beast was knocked out (or dead, who cares). You turn back to head to the group.
"Y/n that was so cool! When the hell did you get so strong?"
"Uhhhh....fighting with my cousins growing up?" You shrugged. "I just want to go lay down, can we hurry up and make camp somewhere?"
Now, he's wondering what type of humans your cousins are.
2. Sesshomaru
Tumblr media
This is one of the worst fears you had. Spiders. In your time, you could easily avoid an encounter with one of these wretched creatures. Modern houses and bug repellents helped tremendously. Not going out into nature and definitely NOT living in Australia did too. Since you've traveled back to the feudal era and were forced to interact with nature, your luck has been tested. And it just ran out today.
A fucking spider demon appeared. It was grotesque, smelly, and an abomination. And it was big too. It wanted to attempt to best Lord Sesshomaru in battle. Sesshomaru, of course, refuses. So, the dumb thing tries to shoot webs at you. Thankfully you dodged.
The hate for spiders took over your body. The fear you had compounded on top of that, making you scarier than the demon. It tries to stick its hairy and pointy leg through you, but you were quicker. With desperate and angered bare hands, you tore off its leg.
The spider yokai shouts in pain. Taking advantage of it's pause, you quickly tear off each limb. One by one.
Sesshomaru, in all his glory, stands there and says nothing. Does nothing. It really doesn't look like he's reacting but he is. The Demon Lord is extremely surprised that he's tense. His eyes are wide. Only thing that's slack is his hands.
The dagger in your side pouch begs to be utilized. It's appeased by you yanking it out and stabbing the yokai in one of it's many eyes. The screams, the power, and the needed imagery of you decimating this spider was iconic.
To Sesshomaru, it was obvious you were untrained. The ferocity of your actions cover it well. He's impressed and takes mental note to start training you. Maybe, have you be a little more graceful with your movements.
"This one had no indication of the strength you hold." Sesshomaru states.
".......I just really fucking hate spiders." you sardonically reply.
"...Hn. Noted. This one concurs with your sentiment."
Silently, he is pleased with this discovery. A small smile graces his face after you turn away
3. Naraku
Tumblr media
Narakus' lower demons were soooo annoying. Their existence was one that irritated you. Irritating when they sucked dick to Naraku and when they tried to be condescending towards you. Just because you were human. The audacity sent you over the edge.
The edge it sent you over was one close by. One of those things became unruly in your presence. Acting as it was better than you, the ugliness of it all. The decision to put it back in its place was swift and malicious. An example to others who felt the same.
Precise, your hand shoots out to grab the lowly yokai. Chucking it, the demon bashes against a nearby rock. It's body twitches on the ground, confused on what just occurred. Slowly, you walk over. With no urgency or care. It felt like you were Michael Myers in that moment. Once you made it over, you stare before stomping it. One more. And again. Again. Again. AGAIN. AGAIN. Until there was a crater in the dirt it crumpled in.
Naraku, some distance away, observed the scene with shocked eyes, his mouth slightly open. "This human...!"
He is pissed that you hid this information from him. And how did he miss this? He frequently spied on you, sent his wasps when he couldn't make a puppet! But now that he knows....you can be of use for him. You're a bit too....alluring to be considered a lackey, but he needed to have control over you somehow. A sly grin graces his face upon observing the aftermath. The squished gruel of guts and blood staining the ground and your shoes.
He approaches, with a questioning stare. "Y/n...pray tell, how did you aquire this power?"
"Oh, my parents had me do martial arts since I was a kid. Plus, I was angry."
All Naraku can think is how nice it was of your parents to prepare you for him and his deeds.

Oh God I think in the Inuyasha fandom we need to start watching out for AI users and making sure we support the incredible artists and writers in our community. I thought this was cute at first and almost didn't notice, but look at Kagome's neck and whatever is going on with Inuyasha's haori. Also Inuyasha has two sets of ears... We are so lucky that we have so many artists who put in so much effort to share their work with us, compared to this which is, frankly, crap

Sweet Success
SessKag Fluff Week, Day 5 Touch
Prompt: "Are you trying to seduce me?" 300 words. AO3.
Sesshoumaru leaned against a pillar on the engawa, holding a sake dish. His dark blue kimono gaped open at his chest; its sleeves left his forearms exposed. His eyes were closed, head tipped up towards the night sky. His silver-white hair gleamed in the moonlight, spilling down his back and across the dark polished wood floor.
Kagome paused in the open doorway and just drank him in. It still felt so new and precious to see him fully relaxed in unguarded moments. Her heart was full in her chest, and she couldn’t quite believe how lucky she was. As she stared at him, silently absorbing his ethereal beauty, he inhaled deep. A slow smile bloomed on his lips, stopping her breath.
Cloth whispered as she walked out onto the terrace and over to him. “Are you trying to seduce me?”
He cracked one eye open, its golden glow pinning her down as his smile widened.
“Trust me, beloved,” he drawled, “if I was, you would not need to ask.”
Kagome laughed as he downed his sake and put down the empty dish. Faster than she could blink, Sesshoumaru’s hand shot out, wrapped around her wrist and pulled.
She tumbled into his lap and was caught, his arms around her waist caging her against his chest. He leaned in, his nose brushing her cheek in passing. One strong, possessive hand slid down to cup her ass and urge her hips flush against his.
“What about now, my Miko?” he murmured into the corner of her lips, sending her head spinning. “Do you still need to ask your silly question?”
Kagome shook her head, tangling her fingers into his hair. “You’re already succeeding,” she breathed.
And tugged his face to hers, crashing her lips against his in a fierce, wild, exuberant kiss.

Inukag Week 2023: Day 2: Possession
@inukag-week
Day 1  Day 2  Day 3  Day 4  Day 5  Day 6  Day 7
AO3
Fanfiction
It wasn’t until Kagome had met and spent a lot of time with Inuyasha that she realized how lucky she was growing up. Sure, she had known she had a good homelife, a loving family, and a future to look forward to.
Inuyasha had nothing but the clothes on his back and the chips on his shoulder.
The first time Inuyasha curled up and fell asleep on her bed, Kagome wanted to let him stay there forever. He seemed to just melt into the soft comforter, his face relaxing off the harshness that normally sat there. He seemed to just be a normal teenage boy in that moment, rather than the harsh and difficult half-demon he was when he was awake.
If Kagome could have given him that peace for the rest of his life, she would have in a heartbeat.
But as with everything, it came to an end that he was sleeping peacefully and quietly on that bed and the real world came knocking and demanded they return to the quest that engulfed their every moment.
The desire to give him everything didn’t disappear with the morning sun, however.
At some point, Inuyasha had become very comfortable with seizing anything and everything of hers and using to his own means. Sleeping bag? Now his for sitting on when camping outside until she made him get off for her to sleep. Books? A source of entertainment (sometimes kindling) for when he wanted to annoy her. Clothes? Those worked great for drying off or wiping sweat off his face, even if they were still on her body and he was just flat out rubbing his forehead on her. Shoes? Ah, perfect for throwing at the crows that gathered on Kaede’s roof. Fifty-fifty if he got them down without her having to ask him.
Kagome found herself specifically looking for things they could share. He had a favorite pair of chopsticks that once were hers, so she got another set. His long hair required softer elastic band on hair ties, so she got scrunchies and clips for them to use when bathing. He preferred open-mouth water bottles to straws, so she got rid of her original one to get a big one they could share.
There was a time when she would have been mortified at the thought of sharing every single thing in her life, but just like how Inuyasha had melded into her bed that night, they blended together.
What was hers was his, and vice versa.
It was so natural after a while, that not even having it pointed out to them would cause them to blush or deny it.
“Less to carry if we share more.” Kagome had said once to Kaede as Inuyasha chugged the entirety of the very large water jug. “It just makes sense.”
Shippo had all of his own things, so it perhaps didn’t actually make sense. She carried a special water bottle, utensils, pillow, soap, crayons, and just about anything else for the little boy. It was the same for Miroku and Sango, who each had their own designated items in her pack.
It was just Inuyasha that she shared everything with.
Soon physical possessions weren’t just the only thing the two teens shared. Inuyasha started to share her successes at school and joined in on studying with her, despite not finding much use for it. It helped her a lot to have another person to talk to, even if it was just grunting red clad boy who knew nothing about theoretical math.
Miroku had tried to help her study, and he was great for history and religious topics, however laying on her stomach next to a lounging half-demon seemed to be the best way for her to work through math equations.
Tapping his shoulder, Kagome commanded his attention to her homework. “Is that a three or eight?” The dim lighting from the fire prevented her from being able to fully make it out. She could if she scooted closer, but it was more convenient to take advantage of Inuyasha’s better eyesight. He drew an eight in the air with his finger.
“To the power of eight?!” Kagome collapsed onto her arm in exasperation. “How am I supposed to figure that out?”
“Write it out.” Inuyasha had no idea what a power of eight was, but he knew what he was supposed to say when the numbers came out. Mama Higurashi had taught him.
Sighing loudly, Kagome rearranged herself onto her elbows and started writing out the equation. Inuyasha felt a surge of pride at being helpful to her, even if he had no idea how it all worked. He didn’t quite get why she was so certain she needed school, but if it was important to her, it was important to him to.
After all, they shared everything.
Including hopes and dreams, he realized one day when in a heated spat with Miroku over Kagome. He had pressed about their future together, insinuating that they should just hurry up and get married. He and Sango had to wait after all, until the curse was lifted, but no such restrictions were on Kagome and Inuyasha.
Inuyasha had huffed and snarled out, “She wants to go to high school. It’s important to her to graduate.”
Miroku had a blank look cross his face. “What does that mean, exactly?” the monk asked.
Inuyasha felt a sense of embarrassment overcome him. He didn’t know exactly what it meant to graduate. “It means…” he scrambled for words. “…she’s finished her school.”
“What’s next for her?”
Inuyasha wanted to strangle the man walking alongside him to fetch water for Kaede. “She wants to finish school and…” his jaw worked hard as he processed if he wanted to tell Miroku what he knew or what. For some reason, the thought that it might deter further questions. “Have a career and raise dogs. Maybe get married but that’s not important to her.”
Miroku nodded as if he understood. Clearly, he did not. “What is a career?”
“Something you do until you’re old.” Souta’s basic explanation was all he knew of the topic.
“Like being a priestess?” Miroku’s eyes wandered over to look at Inuyasha’s profile. It was bright red.
Inuyasha huffed loudly. Miroku took that as a yes, so he continued to prod. “What’s this about dogs?”
“Dogs are her favorite animal and she wants to have a bunch when she’s older.” Inuyasha answered without thinking. “It’s not common to have a lot of dogs, but with the shrine grounds, she can, so she wants to rescue them from living on the street or bad homes.”
Miroku paused for a moment, calculating his next question. “Like how she rescued you?”
Inuyasha stopped walking suddenly, causing the monk to get just a few paces ahead. Miroku tried to gauge if he had gone a step too far. Inuyasha seemed frozen eyes straight ahead for what felt like forever, and Miroku was just about to tell Inuyasha to forget his comment and change topics when Inuyasha spoke.
“Yeah.”
Miroku finally turned his body to look at his friend and see a softness cross his features. He started walking again forward, quietly whispering, “Except this time, we’re going to do the rescuing together.”
Because, after all, they shared far more than just possessions.

A Moment, Together (InuKag; G; complete) by @yukinon-writes
A moment between Kagome and Inuyasha the night before Christmas!
One Little Thing (InuKag; T; complete) by @smmahamazing
Inuyasha wants to propose to his long time girlfriend, Kagome, but can't come up with a good way to pop the question. That is, until he gets her as his Secret Santa.
A Secret Santa (NarSess; T; complete) by @roseheartwhitefox
Naraku loved his job working at Walmart.
He loved it because most of the time, people shopping at Walmart were miserable. They were tired, overworked, underpaid, and generally disgruntled human beings. Not much unlike himself.
It was a glorious job.
It brought Naraku great pleasure to watch the miserable customers plowing through the store at the hand of life’s struggles. That was the case at the store pretty much all the time, except for one time of year.
Christmas.
Skeins and Schemes (InuKag; G; complete) by @cannibalsforbreakfast/Laeoukka
Inuyasha didn’t understand why she was insisting she needed to go back to her time, because this time last year Kagome had said her school was on “ho-li-day” and that there were no classes. She’d tried to put Inuyasha off with excuses — she had a makeup exam, her school had changed its schedule — but she could tell he didn’t believe her.
Because how could she tell Inuyasha that she needed to go back to her time to make him a Christmas present?
Wrapped in Red (SessKag; M; complete) by @sereia1313
Christmas has always been a special time for Kagome, but after Rin invites Sesshomaru to join in the festivities, the holidays will never be the same.

A/N: I started this piece two years ago, and I finally figured out what was missing from it! Hope you guys are able to enjoy it because I’m stoked with how it turned out.
Summary: Post!Cannon. InuYasha and Kagome have been married for a few months and spend an evening under the stars.
II Archive of Our Own: here IIFanfiction.Net: here II
-X-
There wasn’t a cloud in sight tonight, and deep hues of blue and purple stretched out much further than Musahi’s domain. A few months passed since Kagome returned through the Bone Eater’s Well, and spring already yielded to the sticky humidity of summer. InuYasha hardly noticed it. With Kagome around, he didn’t pay attention to the lengths of the days or how cool the shade could keep him. He just paid attention to her.
InuYasha breathed in the scent of lilies and bergamot; he couldn’t hide his smile if he tried. It only widened at the telltale sound of soft footfalls. “How’d it go?” He asked Kagome before she could even sit down.
“It was another false alarm.”
“Damn. Even before it’s born, that kid’s a handful.”
Kagome laughed, taking her seat beside the half-demon. “I missed this,” she confessed, smoothing out her red hakama.
“We were just here this afternoon,” InuYasha carped, ‘cause sure, the grass was a darker shade of green now that the sun had set, but it was still the same damn place. He watched his wife for a moment, noticed how the nearby fireflies followed her—how they circled them both in an ethereal glow.
Kagome sighed, turning her attention skyward. “It’s just that back in the other world, I used to sneak into the mini-shrine after everyone was asleep. I knew it wouldn’t work, but I still got mad when I’d hop in the well, look up, and see the roof.” She brought her legs to her chest, wrapping her arms around them.
The other world... InuYasha thought to himself, following her gaze. “I would’ve killed for that view; I hated looking up and seeing this shit,” he countered, offering Kagome a lopsided grin. She hummed her acknowledgment, resting her head on the tops of her knees.
Four years ago, the two spent tons of nights like this, although pops from the fire and idle chatter from their friends usually kept them company. For three of those years, the only things InuYasha got to keep were the memories. Part of him believed it was meant to end up that way. Felt down to the bone that it was best for someone like Kagome to be with family, friends, and those pesky tests from her world. He practically dragged her through the well when they were looking for the Sacred Jewel shards and Naraku, so InuYasha never once considered that a world without him could be as empty as she described. Figured she just wouldn’t have the time to miss him. It was a lucky break that Kagome returned to this world saying she wanted to stay. Now, all they had was time. Time for him to wait around while she helped villagers, time to sit with her when she was done, and time to protect her so she’d be able to do the same for him.
“InuYasha, what are you thinking about?” Kagome asked, reaching out to brush her hand against his arm. The half-demon flopped backwards, crushing the damp grass below.
He pillowed his head with his hands, turning to look up at Kagome. InuYasha liked the dip of her nose, the way her lips rested. “How I’m always going to protect you,” he replied. It wasn’t a new declaration, but he still meant it. Besides, he couldn’t send her away when things got tough anymore, and Kagome couldn’t run home if she got mad at him–well, that wasn’t exactly true. The second Kagome grabbed his hand a few months back, he became the home she’d run to. The same kind of home she’d been to him for so long.
Kagome leaned over InuYasha, reaching down to caress his cheek. “Keep talking,” she told him, batting her eyelashes prettily. There was no way he’d deny her.
“What am I supposed to talk about, Woman?” InuYasha barked, his gruff frown staying put even after it elicited a small bout of laughter from the priestess—damn, she was a sight though. Hair black as ink on a scroll, scrunched nose with a smile.
“Anything,” Kagome said, drawing out the word so longingly that InuYasha almost asked her to keep talking.
“You’re distracting me,” InuYasha pointed out since Kagome made a habit of it. She distracted him from all sorts of stuff like the Sacred Jewel, his dreams of becoming a great demon, his insecurities, and the typical destiny of half-demons. Yet all she could do in light of the notion was ease herself down beside him like she belonged there. And for the record, she always had.
“Oh?”
InuYasha just wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer. Kagome rested her head on his chest, tracing circles across the robe of the fire rat. “I’m trying to stargaze–isn’t that why you told me to wait out here in the first place?”
“Yep, and I’m so sorry,” Kagome offered half-heartedly, shifting around so she could look over at him. InuYasha couldn’t really describe it; they were together under a dark night sky, but somehow Kagome made it feel as if they were looking up at a clear morning one. The type where the sun made a measly wick in oil out of the night’s brightest campfire.
“You should apologize since you’re the one that wanted me to look at these damn things. Coulda been home by the fire,” InuYasha scoffed.
“Are you cold? Do you want me to warm you up a little?” Kagome asked, and before he could answer she started kissing stars across his jaw, his cheeks, and forehead. InuYasha closed his eyes, claws skimming the fabric by her hips. He wanted to pull her flush to him, feel her weight. “Kagome...” Her name trickled like a line, turning each peck into a constellation.
“InuYasha,” Kagome echoed, lips hovering teasingly above his. But he learned never to hesitate, just to kiss her whenever he could.
InuYasha moved languidly in tandem with her lips. The half-demon brushed the pad of his thumb across her cheek while she repositioned herself, hoisting her leg across his torso to straddle him. “You know, I used to never believe in people like you.”
“Time travelers?” Kagome asked, snapping out of her haze and cocking her head to the side.
“No, Stupid, I was one of those too,” InuYasha deadpanned, earning him a playful pout. “Humans like you.” He used to not need them, either. In the past, he never needed anyone. At least, that’s what he told himself when he decided to carve out a place for one. The notion became the foundation of his home, a mantra that tagged along everywhere he went since no one bothered challenging it.
“Until Mistress Centipede popped out of the well, I also didn’t believe in you.”
“Really? It was that old crone?”
“Oh yeah, Gramps used to tell me stories about ghosts and demons growing up, but I never bought any of it. Imagine my surprise when Mistress Centipede was dragging me to this world. Then I met you, and I had no choice but to believe,” she explained.
“Guess I kinda owe her one for that,” InuYasha admitted.
“She did tie us together, kind of like how we are now—huh?”
“I think you mean,” InuYasha paused for a moment, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her into a hug, “she tied us like this.” He squeezed her even tighter.
Kagome’s surprised squeak transformed into a fit of giggles as InuYasha ran his hands up her back and bent his head down to kiss her neck. “InuYasha, stop it,” she chided, pushing against his chest, but he didn’t move. “It wasn’t like this!”
InuYasha took the opportunity to switch positions. In seconds Kagome was gazing up at him, black hair fanning out on the grass. He caged her in, knees on either side of her waist, palms of his hands resting by her ears. His silver hair curtained them. “You’re right, we were pinned just like this,” he concurred.
“No, you were pinned,” she countered, reaching up to grab his forelocks. InuYasha raised his brow and Kagome shot him a coy smirk before jerking them down. InuYasha closed his eyes, his nose now brushing against hers. “But I remember us being like this. Tell me, InuYasha, do you still want me to let go of you?”
“No,” he replied, and she tugged on his forelocks a second time to bring their lips together.
InuYasha pulled back from her to give them just enough room to grab a breath. Just a moment so he could remind himself of where they were, but he didn’t need it. The half-demon dipped down to kiss her again, brushing his tongue along her lips until they opened and her arms encircled him. A rush of energy sparked in his core, and when he inhaled, there was so much of Kagome. Her scent and touch and taste.
How'd he do it? How’d he inspire Kagome to travel through time to end up in his arms? To end up in this place where there were forests that stretched on forever and demons and wooden carts instead of pink iron ones? “Kagome,” he said, lifting himself up. Tousled tendrils of her dark hair framed her features, making her nearly glow. They fell to the side when she wrapped her arms around his waist. InuYasha moved to lay next to her instead, resting his head in the palm of his hand and draping an arm around her. “What you said earlier… me, too.”
“What?”
InuYasha tucked Kagome’s hair behind her ears. “About having to believe in people like me. I’m really glad we met.”
“InuYasha…” His ear twitched at the sudden sound of several straw sandals crunching in the distance. He rolled over to flop on his back and grabbed Kagome’s hand. “InuYasha?” She inquired, but he didn’t have to answer her.
“I can smell them, they’re right over here!” Shippo announced and the half-demon groaned, slapping his free hand over his face and sliding it down. He stood up then, careful of the hand he was holding. InuYasha wordlessly stuck out his other hand and helped Kagome up.
“Man, we shoulda just gone home,” he grumbled, glaring ahead as Kagome brushed off her hakama. “What the hell are you lot doing out this late?” InuYasha called out while Kagome stood on her tiptoes to pluck a piece of grass out of his hair.
“Shippo decided to test out a new fox demon technique that woke up Hisui and the girls,” Sango explained.
“We decided to take a walk; hope we aren’t interrupting anything,” Miroku added with a predictable waggle of his brows.
InuYasha scowled. “As if,” he huffed, stuffing his hands into his sleeves.
“I asked InuYasha if we could sit outside for a few minutes to stargaze,” Kagome said, letting go of his hand to walk up the hillside.
InuYasha watched as she joined their friends. Kagome looked right standing with all of them.
He didn’t get the chance to tell her that when they met, she gave him no choice but to believe in the people like her, too. Kagome was the human who tossed offerings from villagers and family heirlooms to a half-demon like him as if he earned them. It was Kagome who laid out plans to carve out a place fit for a village and wanted him there. Kagome, the one who InuYasha’d never need because he hadn’t ever needed anyone before. But her ridiculous clothes and her floral scent changed his mantra. He hadn’t even noticed it—still couldn’t name the moment he found a home in Kagome. It just happened. She told him he wasn’t alone anymore and when he looked around, he saw everyone standing there; a priestess, a fox-demon, a monk, a demon slayer, and their family.
“Come on, InuYasha!” Kagome hollered and said half-demon shook his head. “Are you going stay down there?”
“Are you kiddin’!?” InuYasha bounced back, starting the stomp to their sides. InuYasha threw his arms back for his head to rest on. “I ain’t going to stay anywhere, not without you,” he told Kagome, offering the hill a passing glance. He had a feeling he’d be back tomorrow.

Inuyasha was really trying to pump himself up. Perhaps way too hard. And the fact that he was failing miserably was driving him further up the wall.
He should be excited.
This Kikyo girl was fine. More than fine: she was perfect. Drop dead gorgeous, smart, sweet. They had been texting long enough for him to realize any guy would be lucky to have her. Which, as it turned out, wasn’t that long at all.
And yet, after she asked him out and he promptly accepted the invitation, Inuyasha wasn’t as thrilled as he knew he was supposed to be at the prospect.
He tried, in vain, to convince himself that there was a plausible explanation for his less than stellar reaction — Kikyo had just caught him off guard, that was all — and when it didn’t work, he blamed his lack of enthusiasm on the snobby restaurant she had chosen. The French name alone made him feel painfully inadequate.
But the fault, even if he refused to admit it, was the girl next door’s.
Kagome Higurashi.
His neighbor, best friend and unrequited love. Not that she had the faintest idea she was more than two out of those three things.
The situation was straight up maddening. One moment, Inuyasha thought himself above the whole falling in love thing and the next, he was head over heels for the absolute last person he had business catching feelings for. The absolute last person.
It kept him up at night, the recounting of footsteps, wondering if there was a particular corner he could have turned, a different direction he could have taken to prevent himself from loving Kagome as deeply and hopelessly as he did or if every chosen path led back to her regardless and he never even stood a chance.
Inuyasha wasn’t sure which option was worse.
There was one thing, though, that he was certain of: Kagome Higurashi wasn’t perfect by any means.
Sure, she was just as sweet as Kikyo seemed to be, if not more. Ironically, he was the only person to not be on the receiving end of such grace. It was funny, really. The woman was kind to the point of naivety, except, of course, when it came to him. Apparently, something about Inuyasha manages to push her buttons down like no other. It was a gift and a privilege, making her lose her cool. No one else has seen this side of her. This fierce, terrifying — and honestly sort of sexy — side.
Smart? Kagome was obnoxiously so, but it mattered little when so much intelligence was used for evil. And by evil he meant winning every fucking argument they’ve ever had. Whether she was telling him off or calling him out, Kagome was never afraid of putting him in his place with that sharp as knives tongue of hers. The fact that she could read him like one of the books he constantly found himself competing for her attention with was both comforting and unnerving and the only thing more frustrating than when she stubbornly got into her head that she was right about something was that more often than not she was.
And yes, Kagome was gorgeous, but not in the icy beauty way the media insisted guys were attracted to, although she had a rather annoying share of guys sniffing after her. No, she was gorgeous the way a drive home during the sunset was gorgeous. Real and warm. Familiar yet never the same, each dusk always beautiful in a new, different way. You watch it a thousand times, you unconsciously know it’s there today and it’s gonna be there tomorrow, then you take it for granted until you’re casually hit on the most mundane of occasions with just how dazzling it is. Suddenly it’s all you can see.
Inuyasha was aware those weren’t thoughts he was supposed to have about his best friend, especially when he was getting ready to go out with someone else. It went against everything he has ever been taught and Inuyasha knew he would be breaking his poor mother’s heart if she could see him now.
It wasn’t his intention to lead Kikyo — or anyone else — on, but Miroku was right: all it took was one real good date. If he couldn’t risk losing what he had with Kagome by making a move on her, he could only move on. Maybe Kikyo was the solution, the cure to this affliction.
Inuyasha shook his head in an attempt to get away from his reverie.
He was going to be late at this pace.
Dressed on black jeans and his best shoes, he searched the closet for his favorite sweater — the red one he has owned since forever — growing impatient when he couldn’t find it.
Did I leave my sweater there, Inuyasha texted Kagome while he expanded his search from the laundry basket to his unmade bed — on and under —, then behind the couch and to progressively more ridiculous places. Nothing. He checked his phone for an answer, but Kagome hadn't even read his message.
Which was perfectly fine.
Just because she didn’t reply as quickly as she usually did, didn’t mean something happened. She was a grown woman who was most likely busy. No need to get antsy.
He did need the sweater, though.
Mind made up, Inuyasha threw in the first clean shirt he could find and walked to her door, unceremoniously turning the knob and frowning at the realization that it was locked. Great. She either wasn’t home or chose this of all days to finally take his advice and keep the goddamn thing secured for once.
“Kagome,” he tried, gently knocking. It looked like she wasn’t there. Inuyasha knocked again to make sure, a little firmer this time. He was debating going back to his apartment to get the emergency key she gave him when his ears caught the sound of her clumsy footsteps approaching. The lights went on and she unlocked the door.
“Hey, have you seen—”
Kagome was a mess. Her hair was up in a chaotic bun, loose strands hanging from everywhere and framing her pale face. Her scent was wrong, the pink that normally colored her cheeks was concentrated on her small nose and her eyes were extremely puffy, but most importantly: right there, covering her petite body was—
“—my sweater.”
“Uh?” Slowly, Kagome followed his gaze, her doe eyes impossibly wide as she looked down at herself. “Oh, zorry! You wand this back,” she said, making a motion to take it off.”
“Don’t be stupid,” he countered, blushing immediately, “you’re sick.”
“I’m fined.”
Inuyasha ignored her, letting himself in and closing the door behind him, not at all proud of himself for promptly conjuring up a hundred ways of getting her to wear his clothes again and a thousand more of making her take them off.
“Why didn’t you tell me,” he asked, “I could’ve come sooner if you had answered my text,” Inuyasha added, carefully avoiding to let out how anxious not hearing from her had made him.
“Phone died and the beds took be out,” she finished her explanation with a sneezy.
“Ya feelin’ any better?”
“Yeah,” she lied, walking to the couch and wrapping herself into a blanket-made cocoon.
“Have ya eaten anything?”
“Not hungry.” Inuyasha reached for Kagome’s forehead to check her temperature but she moved away, “Don’t wand you to get zick too.”
“Idiot,” he touched her anyway, “half demons don’t get sick.” Her skin was concerningly heated and Inuyasha knew right then he wasn’t going anywhere that night. “You’re burnin’ up.”
“I’ve always been hot,” she joked.
“And now you’re delusional too,” he informed her in his best fake patronizing tone. Kagome’s laugh quickly turned into a coughing fit, so Inuyasha took a seat and brought her feet to his lap. “Alright, here’s what’s going to happen,” he began, fishing his phone off his pocket and selecting Kikyo’s contact, “I’ll put on some trash movie for us while you drink lots and lots of fluids. I’m gonna make you a soup and my mother’s famous antidote—”
“I’m not drinking liber again.”
He looked at her long enough to say “you’re gonna drink whatever I give ya, you big baby,” before returning his focus to the message app, rapidly typing I’m so sorry to cancel, but my friend got sick and I’m on nursing duty. Raincheck? and pressing send. “If you don’t get better then, I’m taking you to the hospital. Get that?”
“Whad about your plans?”
“Hm?”
“That’s whad you wanded the sweater for, right?”
Blowing off a hot date in favor of staying home with his sick girl friend was something Miroku would never let him live down and Inuyasha would be lying if he said he was looking forward to that particular conversation, but in that moment, he couldn’t care less.
A platonic cozy night with Kagome still sounded infinitely better than any potential romance a stranger could offer.
“This is more important,” Inuyasha shrugged. “Now,” he continued, pointing the remote to her flat screen and willing the streaming service to start, “what do you want to watch?”

Inukag Week, day 7: Smile
Just a little thing to finish out the week. We have our ship wars and hardships, but I fkn love this community. Inukag for LIFE ❤️💚
~~~~~~
My Reason to Smile
"Thanks for cooking, Kagome! These are so good!" Sango hummed, licking a bit of whipped cream off her finger. "What did you say they were called again?"
"These are Crepes! They're a French creation, but they've gotten pretty popular in Japan over the years," she hummed, carefully flipping the thin pancake in her frying pan. "You can put all kinds of things in them, but we tend to have sweet ones when they're made at my house, because that's what Sota likes. My Mom makes them special for him on his birthday."
"Kid's got good taste," Inuyasha nodded, speaking carefully around his mouthful.
Miroku had the decency to swallow before agreeing.
"I could see how they would be well-liked on a large scale, especially if they have so much variety."
"We actually have a Japanese version that's similar, but a lot less versatile; It's called okonomiyaki. I'm not sure when it got popular, but I haven't seen it yet in this period. Maybe I'll bring stuff to make some next time."
"Please do!" Shippo begged, finishing his crepe and then looking to the one Kagome was working on.
"While I'm thinking of it, Kagome," Miroku said, adjusting his hold on the napkin she'd given him, "You mentioned your mother makes these for your little brother's birthday. Did he have one recently?"
"Yep. Hit the big 1-0. I'm glad I was home for it."
"That reminds me, though," he continued, "when is your birthday? I don't think you've ever mentioned."
"Oh! My birthday is April thirtieth, so a few months back," she hummed, glancing up over the pan at Inuyasha, who had scarfed down both crepes with an unmatched voracity and was now watching her make the next one with the same hungry eyes. "Actually, I fell down the well for the first time on my fifteenth birthday, the same day I met Inuyasha."
She gave him a grin when he looked up in surprise.
Inuyasha's mind raced: the day they'd met? He'd woken up on her birthday?
He bit the inside of his lip as he remembered his first meeting with Kagome - mistress centipede, the jewel… his threats… and yeah, sure, he'd never actually planned on hurting her. Even thinking she was Kikyo, he hadn't wanted to hurt her, and once he was corrected, he just wanted to scare her into giving him the jewel. She'd put on a brave face, but she was new to the world of demons. He'd probably scared her pretty good.
"My grandpa always says that the universe gives you a gift for your birthday," she continued, drawing his wary eye again. "And that you have to watch out for it and make certain to be grateful. I was just lucky enough to get a new best friend as my gift."
Inuyasha felt his face go hot. He did his best to avoid her gaze, but it didn't last long. She was plating the fresh crepe, but she looked at him through her lashes and bangs, still with that soft smile. She held out the wrap, and he sat up, leaning over the fire to take it.
"... You're my best friend, too," he mumbled, almost too quiet to hear. Kagome's easy grin grew until she beamed, and he offered a small smile in return, amused and pleased at how much joy his words brought her.
the sometimes inuyasha fanfic reader struggles
they may talk in advance japonese sometimes in middle of a spanish/English fic and the writer never writes a note sayi no what is.
if you don’t know of japonese folklore well you are aware that the fic may be your japonese story class.
be ready for japonese kanjis and no glossary.
if you don’t know what a Shinto is or shire you will may find trouble.
some writers are japonese lore accurate obsessed so again be ready to Story class.
you may see oda nobunaga here if you’re lucky.
be ready for the omegaverse that it’s not a omegaverse. Remember inuyasha and sesshomaru are half dog so pack mechanics can be common folk.
if the fic make rin a villain or chippo just stop, breathe and go for another one, trust me.
most sesskag are a love triangle that is more like one side with the true couple just being idiot to lovers.
Naraku should be his own warning ⚠️
May kagome be everybody pure inocent bicicle.
Theres 50% that kikyo is suffering a Ron the death eater trope if the main couple have kagome.
The readers are sometimes the worst enemy of the fics and by this the worst enemy of another reader.
beware of some fic are best gore quality, some people love remark that demons are no the most merciful creatures or just sengoku cruelty, beware.
be ready to learn japonese old culture at finest.
May rin suffers the author cruelty just to make sesshomaru have is own character development, beware you will cry.
if you don’t like Oc’s in fandom fics be ready because the author can make the most lovable or menacing ones.
Be ready to cry, for what? Is a surprise.
Koga used to raid villages right? (That's how Rin got got after all...which is kinda crazy that if the group met this cannibal-adjacent earlier the group might have killed him like other demons they fought...only stopped to pursue Kagome) Well anyway haha, so maybe Koga becomes yandere for someone in one of the villages he was eyeing and now the hunt is on for a mate?
Koga’s not usually interested in humans as anything more than a food source, but you’ve managed to endear yourself to him without you even knowing.
It started when you came across a wounded member of his pack. You’re so dumb you can’t even tell the difference between a demon and a regular wolf. Still, even if it wasn’t a demon, it’s an idiot move to clean and treat an injured wolf’s wounds. You’re lucky you didn’t lose a hand. You’re stupid, but brave, with a bleeding heart that’s gonna get you in trouble one day.
Still, Koga is a demon of honor. You helped a member of his pack, so he owes you something in return. Sparing your life should be more than enough, but there’s something about you that keeps him lingering at the edge of the woods by the village’s outskirts.
That’s how he discovers your family has arranged a marriage for you; an influential man in the village old enough to be your father. You will live a comfortable life with him and always be cared for but the news has you running into the woods and sobbing in grief for a love you have never had.
And that’s when he reveals himself to you.
You might not have been smart enough to fear the wolf demon you helped, but it’s clear you fear him. Koga feels a sharp thrill climb up his spine as you take a step back, cries silenced but eyes still wet with tears as you eye him warily. He likes the feeling, but he’s not here to scare you. He’s here to help you.
He tells you he wants to repay you for your good deed. He’ll grant you any request you have. You hesitate, clearly unsure, so Koga is the one to plant the idea in your head. You’re still so young, you have your whole life ahead of you; surely you don’t want to marry some geezer you don’t love, right? He can help you escape that fate. All you have to do is ask.
It sounds too good to be true but, desperate and vulnerable, you beg him for his help.
He grins at you, flashing sharp fangs your way before he snaps his fingers.
Immediately, a pack of wolves run past the both of you, darting through the trees and straight to your village. You hear the screams soon after; shouts of fear and pain, desperate prayers soon silenced and drowned out by the howls of wolves.
You can barely register what is happening. You fall to your knees, fresh tears falling down your face as you slowly begin to realize what you have just asked for.
Koga continues to grin, bending down casually so he can look you in the eyes. You won’t have to worry about marrying that geezer or anyone else in the village for that matter. A shame he had to take out your pack too but who’s to say they wouldn’t have found an even more miserable fate for you?
Don’t worry, though. Koga won’t leave you defenseless on your own. You can join his pack. He’ll take care of you from now on.
