so kai canonically can't skate (from s4), lloyd and jay can, and i assume the rest can because 1) zane and pixal are robots 2) cole's dance education made him good at ice skating 3) same thing with nya's secret dance lessons from s12
now has a fic!

one thing i absolutely adore about the timeskip is how it gives us details about the characters we didn’t know much about before. like i know this probably isn’t true of EVERY character but looking at how many whose timeskip lives reflect their interests and such in high school (kenma, yachi, osamu, fukunaga, etc) then i’m willing to bet that a lot of the others had those hobbies and whatnot back when we first met them and i think that’s so cute??? like semi being a musician he probably had a guitar or something with him back in the dorms. kai became an arborist so maybe he liked taking walks to look at the trees and visited parks or had his own lil garden. lev and alisa might have played dress-up together when they were kids and could have gone shopping a lot in high school. akaashi became an editor so he was probably a giant bookworm and loved reading. like idk i just think it’s neat how it makes it feel like even in the future when we meet everyone again it really does feel like they’ve grown but haven’t changed at all y’know???

Summary: Cloud Recesses had never truly felt like home to him; Lan Yuan's home was wherever Hanguang-Jun was and sadly, Cloud Recesses was not Hanguang-Jun's home either.
Kay's comments: I may be biased, because this work was written for me and is a remix of my own story Justice, but, I really enjoyed this one! This is based on the idea that Lan Wangji was supossed to die from his punishment, but lived, and now the Lan Sect has to deal with it and it makes them bitter and also showcases their own hypocrizy. This story is from Sizhui's POV and tells the story of how he grew up in the Lan Sect and how he realized that something was very off, but the puzzle pieces only started connecting when Mo Xuanyu turned up. I loved this focus on Sizhui and the general vibes, it's really sad with a happy ending done right.
Excerpt: Out of all of them, Zewu-Jun was the strangest.
From the stories he had heard, the Twin Jades of Lan had once been inseparable, two identical drops of water, yet Sizhui had never seen them interact any more intimately than he would do with any of his peers. It was like there was a barrier between them, not allowing them to act like the brothers they were supposed to be.
Zewu-Jun questioned Mo Xuanyu’s presence in the Cloud Recesses the hardest yet he had not openly opposed it. The Lan Seniors had all been too eager to let Hanguang-Jun take care of the demonic arm case, taking Mo Xuanyu with him if that meant not having any of them anywhere near Gusu for the time it took to figure out the whole demonic arm ordeal.
As Hanguang-Jun wasn’t present in the Cloud Recesses, the whispers became normal conversation instead. Rumours of the return of the Yiling Laozu arose; someone had controlled the Ghost General that day with the Dancing Goddess, and someone had used the Yin Tiger Tally on the demonic arm somehow. As Hanguang-Jun left, Lan Sizhui could experience for the first time just how deep the whole thing really went. Voices and pointing fingers became the norm.
Hanguang-Jun should have died, they said.
pov lan sizhui, canon divergence, parent-child relationship, good parent lan wangji, post-canon, gusu lan sect rules, gusu lan sect bashing, sad with a happy ending, identity reveal, adoption, remix

My silly little idea of how I'd end the Cobra Kai series.
It's the last scene; Johnny about to get married (Cause let's be honest, we are going down the classic soap opera trope and it always, mostly, ends with a wedding) He's in the room getting ready and Daniel comes knocking in. Cause you know, he is the best man now (yes all the og cobra's are pissed about it)
Daniel goes, "Woah, looking good there Goldie locks,"
Johnny like, "pfft, Thanks," and there is a kind of silence in the room as Daniel is about to speak up, a little sounds escapes him and shakes his head dismissing it. And Johnny goes, "What is it LaRusso? You didn't have a problem before bitching out whatever came to your mind,"
Daniel looks offended ," first of all I don't, bitch out, second-" he stalls and with his little hand gestures dismisses it again, " No, it's stupid. Don't worry about it,"
johnny gives him a deadpan stare and huffs out, "Just say it man, it can't be that bad-"
Daniel shrugs and scoffs while rubbing his chin, " No, I rather not-"
Johnny, "should I kick it out of you-?" as he moves forward pretending to strike, "You'll have to explain to Carmen why my suit is messed-"
Daniel flinches only slightly blurting out, " I used to have a thing for you back in high school-"
and it goes silence as Johnny drops his stance, and they stare at each other for what feels like hours, and And Johnny goes, "You too-?"
AND IT ENDS WITH JOURNEY'S SEPARATE WAYS CHORUS BLASTING AND IT GOES BLACK WITH THE COBRA KAI LOGO FLASHING ONTO THE SCREEN/END CREDITS.
