Stadt Hockenheim ehrt langjährige Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter In einer zunehmend schnelllebigen Zeit, eilen viele Menschen von Job zu Job. Die Stadt Hockenheim freut sich entgegen dieser Entwicklung über zahlreiche Mitarbeitende, die ihrem Arbeitgeber bereits über Jahrzehnte erhalten geblieben sind. Um diese langjährige Zusammenarbeit zu ehren, fand kürzlich eine kleine Feierlichkeit statt, bei der Mitarbeitende für 10, 20 und 25 Jahre Dienstzeit ausgezeichnet wurden. „Ich freue mich, Ihnen allen zu ihren Dienstjubiläen gratulieren zu dürfen. Ihre Treue zur Stadt Hockenheim und zum öffentlichen Dienst zeigt mir nicht nur, dass Sie Ihren Job lieben, sondern auch, dass wir als Arbeitgeber vieles richtig machen! Ich hoffe, Sie feiern noch viele weitere Jubiläen bei der Stadt Hockenheim“, so Oberbürgermeister Marcus Zeitler bei der Begrüßung im Restaurant Rondeau in der Stadthalle Hockenheim. Die Jubiläen für 10 und 20 Dienstjahre hat die Stadt Hockenheim selbst ausgerufen, um langejährigen Mitarbeitenden für ihre Arbeit zu danken. Die Anerkennung für 25 Dienstjahre wird zusätzlich vom Land Baden-Württemberg geehrt und bezieht sich nicht nur auf die Dienstzeit in Hockenheim, sondern auf die Tätigkeit im öffentlichen Dienst. Geehrt für 10 Jahre Dienstzeit wurden unter anderem Karin Berger, Elke Görg, Karsten Peekel und Gabriele Ruffler. Auf 20 Dienstjahre blicken un-ter anderem Christian Klefenz und Jasmin Diehm zurück. Für 25 Jahre Dienstzeit, oder wie Oberbürgermeister Zeitler es nannte „die silberne Hochzeit mit dem öffentlichen Dienst“, wurden unter anderem Monika Christ, Achim Friedrich, Sanja Heilmann und Andrea Offenloch ausgezeichnet. „Sie alle bündeln eine Unmenge an Erfahrung und Wissen, die Sie sich in der langen Zeit bei uns und im öffentlichen Dienst erarbeitet haben. Ich möchte Ihnen für ihr jahrelanges Engagement meinen herzlisten Dank aussprechen“, so Oberbürgermeister Marcus Zeitler. Der Verwaltungschef nahm die Ehrung nicht nur zum Anlass, jedem Mitarbeitenden seinen Dank auszusprechen, sondern berichtete auch über die Herausforderungen der unterschiedlichen Berufsfelder. Racially Motivated Rampage Strikes Buffalo

The Tops Supermarket on Jefferson Avenue in Buffalo, New York became a crime scene on Saturday May 14th. Payton Gendron, 18, was the perpetrator of the mass shooting that occurred at the Tops Supermarket killing ten people and injuring three. [1] Authorities allege Gendron was wielding an AR-15-style rifle, dressed in military fatigues, body armor and wearing a tactical helmet with a camera attached when he stormed the store around 2:30 p.m., shooting four people outside the business and nine others inside. [4] He was live-streaming the attack on the social media site twitch which led to the thought [6] of the crime being racially motivated; along with the fact that eleven of the thirteen victims were African American. Gendron appeared in court on Thursday May 19th and while [1] this trial was meant to be a felony hearing, he has already been indicted, and so the judge scheduled his next hearing for June 9th in which he is expected to be arraigned on charges in the grand jury indictment. Family members of the victims attended this hearing which resulted in Gendron being under heavy guard. [1] Gendron was originally charged with one count of murder, but is expected to face additional murder and attempted murder counts and state hate crime charges. [1] The FBI is also conducting a parallel investigation, which the Department of Justice said could lead to federal hate crime and terrorism charges.

The night before the shooting Gendron was asked to leave the Tops Supermarket. [4] Shonnell Harris Teague, an operations manager at Tops, told ABC News she saw the suspect sitting on a bench outside the store for several hours Friday, the day before the shooting. He had a camper bag on his back and was dressed in the same camouflage he wore Saturday, she said. He entered the store that evening, but he appeared to be bothering customers so she asked him to leave, which he did, Teague said. During the investigation of Payton Gendron, authorities found [6] social media posts proving that he had been planning the attack for months. [6] In his posts, initially written on the chat app Discord and shared on online forum 4chan, the suspect said he visited the Tops Friendly Markets store three times on March 8 to survey the layout, as well as at the times of the day when there were the most customers. He planned his attack for mid-March, the posts say, but postponed it several times. [7] Thirty minutes before the shooting, the suspect posted his months-long plot to social media for everyone to see. Gendron’s digital footprint has allowed for authorities to establish his motives for the crime. [7] He chose a grocery store due to the increase of individuals throughout the day and took note of how many African Americans and White citizens entered the store. [7] This led to him visiting the supermarket on March 8th in order to map out the store's interior. The attack was originally planned for March 15th, but was postponed. [7] Officials are also examining a 180-page racist document they say was written by Gendron and posted online shortly before the shooting. [7] "All the evidence that we ascertain from that manifesto, from wherever that manifesto leads us, other pieces of evidence we already had, we can then use that and develop more charges potentially," Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said.

Memorials are being held outside of the store [4] including flowers, candles, and messages written in chalk. Tops President John Persons is planning for repairs and renovations before reopening the Jefferson Avenue location. [1] Persons continued that the renovations will include some way to memorialize the victims of the shooting. President Joe Biden [4] is planning on visiting Buffalo on Tuesday May 24th to meet and grieve with the relatives of the victims. [4] "He wants to go there and comfort the people who went through this violence," White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said. [4] "We must all work together to address the hate that remains a stain on the soul of America," Biden said. "Our hearts are heavy once again, but our resolve must never, ever waver." Much support is being provided for the families of the victims. [8] Bills Hall of Fame running back Thurman Thomas announced on Monday that he, his wife and former teammates would be fundraising to help the families and community affected by the mass shooting in Buffalo, N.Y., on Saturday. The Thurman Thomas Family Foundation has currently raised [8] over $125,000 through donations. [3] The Pegulas were joined by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, a Jamestown, N.Y. native, as well as Bills legends Jim Kelly, Bruce Smith and Thurman Thomas. Goodell and his wife, Jane are donating $50,000 to the Bills’ Social Justice fund, News 4’s Marlee Tuskes reports. Along with all the support, Senator Tim Kennedy released a statement which included him saying [2] "Although we may feel speechless, we will not remain silent.” Although Gendron pleaded not guilty to the charges, justice is still on the way. [1] "The defendant continues to remain held without bail. There will be no further comment from our office until there is a report following an investigation by the Grand Jury," Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said in a statement. "As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law." Nevertheless, individuals are awaiting the June 6th trial in hopes of holding Gendron accountable for the crimes committed against the community. Citizens will continue to mourn until punishment is justly served.

Karl-Friedrich Scheufele is Co-President of Chopard along with his sister, Caroline, and President of La Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud. He is the son of Karl and Karin Scheufele, German entrepreneurs who acquired Chopard in 1963. KFS was born February 5, 1958 in Germany.

The bridegroom was the son of Count Otto Friedrich of Castell-Castell and his wife, Princess Amélie of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freundenberg.

The bride was the youngest daughter of Prince Harald of Denmark and his wife, Princess Helena Adelaide of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg.

The couple met for the first time in Berlin during the 1936 Summer Olympics. Following their first meeting, Luitpold and Alexandrine-Louise spent nearly every day together. Before her departure from Berlin, Luitpold proposed marriage and Alexandrine-Louise accepted. At the time of their engagement announcement, Luitpold was a law student residing in Munich.

Footage of the wedding on nitrate film is preserved by the Danish Film Institute in their bunker archive for nitrate film at Store Dyrehave in Hillerød. According to the film archivist Karin Bonde Johansen regarding the scenes captured by the film, "the atmosphere looks cheerful and wild looking, but unfortunately there is no audio to the footage."
