Here's the kastelan robots I painted for a commission!

Tried a cracked screen on this one, hopefully that comes across!

Pretty pleased with how the metallic blue and bone white are coming out, actually. Still a long way to go but the colors work well together imo.

Righteo! I've learned the rules enough, I've got some matches under my belt. It's time to enter locals, as promised to the handful of goobers who contributed to the Erebus Suffer Fund (which is still open for a little while longer)

It's 1500 points (so some stuff is getting left behind), and we've got about 2-3 weeks to decide.

What are we terrorising locals with?

1. 12 Kastelans (3 squads of 4), 3 Datasmiths (no enhancements), 3 Kataphron Breachers, and an Onegar Dunecrawler.

2. 10 Kastelans (2 squads of 4, 1 squad of 2), 3 Datasmiths (one with necromechanic, one with Lord of Machines), 1 Knight Errant (AKA the big Kastelan)

3. 12 Kastelans (3 squads of 4), 3 Datasmiths, 10 Skitarii Rangers, 1 Tech Priest Manipulus (with arch-negator), and an Onegar Dunecrawler.

You'll notice that none of these options involve NOT running 3 squads of kastelans. That's obviously non negotiable. If games workshop didn't want me to do it, they wouldn't have made a detachment for it.

Putting crysis on a kastelan robot

It's quite intimidating for enemies when the Kastelans start playing bass boosted lines from the games in battle. Seeing one stride through gunfire towards you while going "MAXIMUM ARMOUR" is more than a little demoralising.

The Kastelan Class Battle-Automata is a tried and true robot used by the Legio Cybernetica branch of the Adeptus Mechanicus, converted to plumbot form straight from the forges of Mars. As usual, requires into the future. Please enjoy!

We have four Kastelans

Won some very cheap auctions, used some ebay vouchers, cashed in some very silly commissions (someone asked me to write a piece where the Night Lords just bully Thousand Sons)

CA-5T13L, M-11K3L, RAM-133L, and GA-3R11L are awaiting pickup. We'll start assembling and painting soon. The Machine God will send his greatest data-angels to his favourite automata enthusiast - no scrap code will lay them low, no enemy shall penetrate their repulsor grid

I reaaally want enter another tournament after the Trench Crusade shenanigans, but it'll be some time before we secure the other four Kastelans to make the thousand points - unless ya'll pay for like 5k of Dorn soft domming Guilliman lmao

What are your thoughts on Kastelan Robots?

I like ‘em. Fun, chunky, friend-shaped, sporadically violent. In my mind they all sound like something between Baymax and K-2SO.
