From the vaults of the Cohort Ceraphim's barge, the Galvinius, Archmagos Theltas' Machine Council gathers in silent prayer. A hundred vox-casters, tuned to frequencies used by no-one, blast deafening static in the Listening Chamber. They will stay in this temple of overstimulation until one glimpses some snippet of the Omnissiah's will.

The Cohort's Logi and Domini will then precogitate paths of travel, supply consumption, and battleplans, before the Datasmiths feed these calculated plans to the Cohort cyber-angels. For their belief, they know the Motive Force will grant their ancient machine spirits a shard of divine power.

Deep in the depths of the Galvinius dwells the Archangels, terrible and beautiful Battle Automata that dwarf the already towering Kastelan robots. These tempestous machine spirits need guiding by the most experienced of the Datasmiths, lest the venerable machine-predators lose themselves in the Machine God's wrath.

At last, the Cohort translates to its destination. The ground thunders as precomputed battle scriptures drive the machines of the Legio Cybernetica to a fever of crackling prayer and bihnaric chanting. Soon enough, dozens of maniples will raze the unfortunate world that has drawn the ire of the Omnissiah.

DAILY FACT #143: Kastelan Robots are massive and ancient constructs designed to be used as machines of war by the Adeptus Mechanicus. With the help of a Cybernetica Datasmith, Katelan Robots can be programmed to complete a variety of tasks on the battlefield.

"Kastelan Robots are giant automata from Mankind’s dark past, shielded with thick armour and advanced force fields. Heeding preprogrammed doctrines without fail, Kastelans are bastions in defence and nigh unstoppable on the attack, unleashing heavy firepower and bludgeoning swipes with their giant fists.

Datasmiths optimise the programming of their robotic charges. These Tech-Priests employ rituals and binharic hymns to bless the doctrina wafers through which they alter the robots’ protocols, all the while laying waste to the enemies of the Omnissiah with blasts of ionising radiation from their archeotech pistols."

2 more Kastelans to round out the 40k Maniple, magnetised for all options, and another Datasmith to use with the 30k Castellax. Had a bit of fun with the faces again, gotta have a little silly in there somewhere. Getting quite the Cybernetica battleforce, could probably make quite a nasty HH list at this point, should anyone at the local show any interest. Will cart them out in force for 40k at somepoint, though they havent had much luck so far as smaller squads in 10th.

If I really push myself and keep at it I should have the 40K stuff done by March and the rest finished by August but I promised myself I wouldn’t work myself into the ground on this so it may take longer.

Just finished painting a Cybernetica Datasmith. First time free handing the white strips for the AdMech. Came out meh but learning is good.

I'm playing my first 40k match tomorrow. A thousand points of Kastelans (8 bots, 2 datasmiths, and a couple of kataphrons to guard a manipulus) against someone's Imperial Knights.

Looking at list building, and I'm a little stuck for detachment, would appreciate some advice! (general advice, for general 40k, rather than like, anti-knight strats)

I could take the Cybernetica Cohort detachment, which gives the doctrina imperatives rule to my bots, and some OK enhancements. Real bonus here is some really nice looking stratagems.

I could take the Haloscreed Battle Clade detachment. The stratagems aren't as useful for me, but I could give my bots an extra +1 toughness (to 10, or coupled with innate ability to 11), or stealth (-1 to hits against them). Enhancements are also okay.

I... don't really know what counts as a good strength score, or toughness etc. yet, so I'd appreciate any suggestions or advice. Unless that advice is "don't take the maximum number of Kastelans in every battle" - The Omnissiah spoke to me through an air fryer and I'm I'm not questioning his divine wisdom.
