@kazeofthemagun | s.c.
Of course, Kotori is stuck in a place like this. She couldn't be sure as to how it happened, with the only strange occurrence being the formation of a pillar in the sea to the north. It shouldn't have anything to do with bringing her here, but stranger things had happened in the past, she supposed. The girl now, finds herself in the midst of a world of rock formations that pierce the ground into the sky. It's a beautiful sight to behold, but she finds no time to stand around and stare as she keeps walking.
She has to get back home, who knows what might be happening there. To Yuzu, to her town... But with the way that she feels like she's running around in circles, she isn't getting all that far. In some time, she feels as though she should probably change her approach. She's exhausted, and unsure of what she's supposed to do here. What was she even meant to look for? Civilization? Another Person? She can't be sure, but it's still frustrating
Defeated, she takes a seat, trying to look for anything she might be able to make a smoke signal with. If there's anyone in the next few miles or so, they might be able to see it and at least help somehow. However, she's taken from this work as she hears the sounds of large footsteps in the distance, unsure of whether to be worried about this development or relieved.

@kazeofthemagun continued from [ X ]

Kuja was overcome with a subtly smug glee that the gunmage, though he would never say it, knew just who was truly in charge of this little scenario, feathery hair flouncing with his exaggerated sashay towards the guard, who immediately straightened in the presence of the King. The uncertain man gaped open his mouth to speak, the perplexed and slightly distressed expression never dropping from his features---
“Ah, see how such stalwart security stands at the ready to face any foe that might barge into his territory!” Kuja interrupted any action the man might wish to take as he joined Kaze's side with the flourished raise of his hand, and the nobles leaned in with their ornate fans and glistening viewing-glasses at the ready, to wave at the heat of their excitement, and to better drink in each and every minute facial change that this narrative might bring. “But you see, he quickly understood that there was a perilous plot afoot---a goal, that our most hellbent hunter would see achieved no matter the cost.”
At this curious explanation from the King himself---and the fact that no one at all seemed distressed by the fact there was a strangely-garbed man waving around what could only be determined to be some strange, magical weaponry---the guard responded in kind:
“Y-yes, of course---I would not wish to deter a story from its, uh---its proper conclusion,” was the muttered reply, the confused and defeated tone apparent that the guard had no desire to deal with the continuously odd eccentricities of these wildly ridiculous aristocrats.
At the admittance, Kuja raised the extended arm and flicked his wrist dramatically, and in turn the royals cheered as their excitement mounted. As an actor on stage engaged in soliloquy, the silvery mage continued, azure eyes flicking towards the gunmage---
“And so, the tale trots on---onward, and upwards, towards wherever our courageous chevalier’s quarry could creep.”
The spotlight had shifted---if but only for a moment.

[kazeofthemagun]
As one of the worlds marked by the darkness of Chaos, Earth was certainly a place closely monitored by the pair of celestial guardians known as the "Unlimited". Furthermore, it served as home to their wayward charges, once lost within Wonderland. Said charges, Ai and Yu Hayakawa, had since returned to living with their parents at Sadogashima Island. Bizarre as it was, the country of Japan held a kind of charm that White Cloud seemed to take a shine to rather quickly. The same could not be said about his counterpart. However, one should scarcely take into account Black Wind's travel destination opinions, especially when it seemed the man disliked most everything.
Well, this wasn't Sadogashima, now, was it..?
Though unmoving, he may have appeared as a signpost or suspiciously tall trash can out of one's peripheral vision, turning one's sight in his direction revealed that Kaze was, in fact, a man. Or, at least, something passing for one.
He took a gulp of a canned soda held in his left, which somehow caused his already prominent scowl to deepen.
Tumblr media
"Hey, you." A gruff voice prodded at the club president, an uncovered eye of blue gazing with an inherent sharpness. He did not bother to beckon Tamaki over, instead taking a few long strides in his direction and unceremoniously blocking his path.
"Have you seen a man dressed in white, with a crown of horns atop his head? He is this tall," the Windarian hovered the drink in Suou's face. "He may be floating. And that is none of your business."
Having said that, the Windarian took another sip of the sparkling beverage, and visibly cringed.
Tumblr media
꧁⁕༻♕༺⁕꧂ For once, Ouran Academy stood quiet under a paint-brushed sky streaked with varying shades of pink and purple. It wasn’t unusual for Tamaki to stay late, even long after his club closed their doors for the day. What was unusual was that he was alone.  The Suou stayed extra late in preparation for the Halloween test of courage class-A would be orchestrating tomorrow night.
Now, wandering through the deserted school, Tamaki made his way toward the main entrance. There the limo would surely be waiting for him.  Good.  He didn’t relish the idea of lingering around here a moment longer–all alone.  Feeling at his most vulnerable, his mind started playing tricks on him.
Tall dark shadows crept out from behind tall ornate pillars.  Long spindly shadows, like gnarled fingers reached from the depths of corridors; they threatened to grab the prince and drag him away.  Much like a wolf on the prowl, the wind picked up and howled as it swept through exterior hallways; the darkness was closing in on him.
His adrenaline spiked; Tamaki gulped against the lump in his throat. Tucking his school satchel under his arm, Tamaki hurriedly made his way across the abandoned courtyard. His chest began tightening as panic started to set in.  Out of the corner of his eye he thought he could see the shadow of a large, black dog against the wall of the school–stalking him.
A growl ripped from the maw of the beast as the animal narrowed in on the boy, and Tamaki ran.
Tamaki could feel the warm breath of the creature at the back of his neck; could hear the wretched panting. By now the blond was sprinting for his life, running away from the canis-like figment.  He rounded the next corner and there the pathway to the front gates stretched out before him.  However...
“Hey, you.” A voice called out to him and Tamaki could almost hear that phantom wolf snarling in the gravelly voice. In an instant his vision went black. He couldn’t see anything and Tamaki felt the panic rise in him again; his beautiful sight was gone!
Tumblr media
No…wait.
Tamaki’s mind focused and he soon realized that someone was blocking him. Whoever it was, was tall; they loomed over the blond like the Grim Reaper himself.  “Mori-senpai?” He murmured as he held his school satchel out in front of him, using it as a shield.
A blue gaze climbed up the tall figure; no–this was definitely not Takashi.  When finally blue met blue Tamaki almost lost his balance he had to crane his neck so far back.  The blond jumped back and exhaled a sigh of relief.  It was only a human! Just a really really tall human. There was no wolf; there were no shadows.  Well.  Not really.
Bashfully, Tamaki rubbed the back of his neck and let out a nervous laugh. “Hah! I’m sorry my friend–I must admit you startled me.”  While his heart continued to race he was oddly comforted by this person’s presence; at least he wasn’t alone anymore.
Thoughtfully cupping his chin, Tamaki observed the tall figure.  What an odd outfit–if this was a conscious fashion choice, then all the power to them. “I admire your courage,” Tamaki began. “Not everyone can pull off a cape so effectively–and that scowl–you must be the menacing type.” Menacing may be an understatement.
This man nearly scared Tamaki to death–an over exaggeration of course.  It suddenly dawned on Tamaki that this guy was probably dressed up for the test of courage competition! While the event wasn’t open to the public, it stood to reason it would be well known. Afterall, it was Ouran Academy. “You know Halloween isn’t until next week, my friend, but you are sure to win any contest with that costume.”
Blue eyes watched the can of soda and his eyes widened–he was about to say something but his mind paused to concentrate on what the man was asking:
“...dressed in white, with a crown of horns…he may be floating..,”
Floating…? A gasp escaped Tamaki as blue eyes shimmered, and a voice inside his head came to the forefront of his memory; it sounded soft like freshly fallen snow but crisp with formality.
“He is a denizen of darkness...deep red hair…extremely tall…”
He laughed as he recalled the cosplayer stretching with his arm so high that even those extra long sleeves had a hard time keeping up.  Tamaki’s eyes trailed up the giant figure that stood before him and he whispered: “...My celestial counterpart.
“..Wait–!
Tumblr media
“You’re that guy!” He pointed wildly at the man in front of him “You’re looking for White Cloud, aren’t you?”

@kazeofthemagun finds: Though he seldom spoke, not many things ever eluded the Hunter's gaze. And it was said once, that Lord Marduk's eyes were a special kind that could both read the very fabric of souls and drive others to madness. Perhaps that was one of the reasons it was hard to meet those ocean blues without fear. Just what had he seen?
Many things no man should have to.
And what did he see when he looked at Yu Hayakawa..?
Kaze said nothing as he observed the younger of the twins. The teen was alone, with his sister nowhere in sight. The school day had been particularly long, but the profound weariness permeating a fragile form was more than simple tiredness. No, it was not the task of learning that drained the boy so thoroughly. Especially not when his mind was so bright and swift like the pen of any worthy scribe.
The purplish inkling of a bruise underneath a hazel eye caught the Wind's attention.
Tumblr media
"Hey, kid. What happened? Who did this?" The summoner's deep voice for once sounded first. Why would a Hunter care enough to check up on his prey's wellbeing?
Perhaps that was not the entire truth behind what those ocean blues saw when they looked at Yu Hayakawa.
Ai had been left at home that day, with quite the high temperature. Yu didn't have the same, so he was sent off to classes without much fuss. Little did he know that this would be a recipe for disaster. For you see, most of the bullies at school knew not to mess with Ai on a physical level, and this usually held true for Yu, as the twins were often inseparable.
But without his elder, his protector, that left one of the braver children to do something a lot more physical than that. Not only had he been whacked so hard with a metal lunch tray so hard he'd gotten the start of, but all it's contents were spilt all over his clothes. He didn't know what had happened after that, other than him having to get a change and going through the rest of his day.
There was a lot of be exhausted for, which was why he tried to keep himself as small as possible on the way home. It was harder still, without someone around to take his mind off things. So he could only feel a tired relief upon making it back to the yard in front of their house.
He's surprised to hear Kaze's voice sound without any sort of prompting. It's certainly a welcome surprise, though he realized he would much rather come up with an excuse as for why he looked like this, instead of telling the truth. It was just one day, and no one else needed to be on this kid's case for something as stupid as this... He could deal with this, he was certain of it.
But he's not sure if Kaze would even believe him, in all honesty. Despite that, he tries it anyway. "Oh, this? It was just a long day, and I had a bit of a migraine. So around lunchtime I ended up crashing into the door-" He tries to sell it with a bit of laughter at his own expense, but it comes off more nervous than he really planned on making it seem. If he wanted to be believed, this wasn't going to work, was it?
It's quick, then, that he relents. "But... You're not gonna believe that story, are you..?" It's hard for him to keep it up, especially under such a piercing blue gaze as that. There was a slip, and he moves with defeat. "No... Someone hit me with a lunch tray but... I don't even remember their name, so it's fine..." This much was the truth, Yu tried not to pay so much attention to who was picking on them, aside from knowing their appearances, to know who to run from. Ai could remember the names, she had always been good at that.
Hopefully, that could at least satisfy the hunter's thirst for knowledge.
