it's "uno apologizer" anon again :"""D sorry for turning your question box into "anon debate box" but it's kinda fun
biggest questions for jyugo are: is there really place or person he could call "home" and would he able to keep his identity at all since elf consuming him
we learned that both sides: shiki under mashiro and kazu under hiiro - quite radical in their goals and methods
both don't bat an eye on casualties as long as there potential gain for them
mashiro most likely would use jyugo to create new world for togabito
hiiro practically tortured jyugo in order to keep close eye on him and to suppress elf
there's no "good" side, at least not yet, there no place where jyugo would be safe and with current information I don't see any good outcome for him
it's paradox of his existence
Pls pls keep sending me nanbaka asks its like enrichment for me.
I'd say the easy answer for the story to take would be that he escapes into the real world, out of the hands of these two warring factions.
But. The Outside in Nanbaka is constantly vilified as bad. Not in an organized sort of way. Just bad.
Noriko, Kujaku, Zakuro, Liang, Tsukumo, Kojiro, Sophia Valentine. These are but a scant number of people who were hurt by 'the normals'. (Zakuro is a little debatable bc we don't know how much of a role Kaazu played in the people hating him)
Obvs they did these things bc we need conflict that didn't come from either Shiki or Kaazu. But there's a precedent now for the main public to be just as shitty, if not more so.
I think following the patterns of the story, and what themes it highlights, Jyugo will eventually have to pick this third option.
He has to take the bad with the good, and accept it for what it is, because at least it's not an entire organization trying to control his very consciousness.
Because at least he got to make that choice on his own, that way.

Episode 3 : Sabito and Makomo / 第三話『錆兎と真菰(Sabito to Makomo)』
*Green colored words are only in anime, not in original manga, and we usually call them "ani-ori(anime-original)".
Urokodaki Sakonji “Yukuzo.”
Sakonji Urokodaki “Let’s go.”
Urokodaki “Kisatsu-tai. Sono kazu oyoso suhyaku-mei. Seifu-kara sei-shiki-ni mitome-rarete-inai soshiki. Daga, inishie-yori sonzai shite-ite, kon’nichimo onio karu. Shikashi, Kisatsu-tai’o darega hikiite-irunokawa nazoni tsutsumarete-ita.”
Urokodaki “The Demon Slayer Corps has around several hundred members. It’s an organization unrecognized by the government. Yet, it has existed since ancient times, and we continue to hunt demons today. But as for who’s leading the Demon Slayer Corps, that remains a mystery.”
Urokodaki “Oni. Shushoku, ningen. Ningen’o koroshite taberu. Itsu doko-kara arawareta-nokawa fumei. Shintai-noryokuga takaku, kizu-nadomo tachi-dokoroni naoru. Kiri-otosareta nikumo tsunagari, teashio aratani hayasu kotomo kano. Karadano katachio kaetari, ino’o motsu onimo iru. Taiyono hikarika, tokubetsuna katanade kubio kiri-otosanai-kagiri korose-nai.”
Urokodaki “Demons. Staple food: humans! They kill humans and feed on them. No one knows when and where they first appeared. Their physical prowess is remarkable. Wounds heal in the blink of an eye. Fresh is restored after being hacked off, and libs can be newly regenerated. Some demons can shapeshift. Others have otherworldly powers. They can only be killed by sunlight or by decapitation with a special sword.”
Urokodaki “Kisatsu-taiwa namamino karadade onini tachi-mukau. Hitode arukara kizuno naorimo osoku, ushinatta teashiga motoni modoru kotomo nai. Soredemo onini tachi-mukau. Hito’o mamoru tameni.”
Urokodaki “The Demon Slayers battle the demons with their own mortal bodies. Since they’re human, their wounds are slow to heal, and, once lost, their limbs don’t grow back! Even so, they battle the demons… to protect other humans.”
Urokodaki “Washiwa ‘sodate’ da. Moji-doori kenshio sodateru. Sodatewa yama-hodo ite, sore-zoreno basho, sore-zoreno yari-kata-de kenshio sodatete-iru. Kisatsu-taini hairu tame-niwa, ‘Fuji-kasane-yama’ de okonawa-reru ‘Saishu-Senbetsu’ de ikinokora-nakereba naranai. Saishu-Senbetsuo ukete iika dokawa washiga kimeru.”
Urokodaki “I am a trainer. I literally train swordsmen. There are many trainers, and each of them train their pupils with their own regimen in their location. To join the Demon Slayer Corps, you must survive the Final Selection process held on Mt.Fujikasane. Whether or not you’re eligible for the Final Selection is up to me.”
Tanjiro (Nezukoni mukete, kyo-kara nikkio tsukeru kotoni shita. Orewa kyomo yamao kudaruyo. Saishu-Senbetsude shinanai-tameni kitae-nuku.)
Tanjiro (Starting today, I’m going to keep a journal for Nezuko. I’m descending the mountain again today. I’m going to train my hardest so I won’t die during the Final Selection.)
Tanjiro (Mai-nichi mai-nichi yama-kudario kurikaesuto, zuibun wanao yoke-rareru-yoni natte-kita. Tairyokuga kojo shitanoto, hanaga mae-yori surudoku nioio toraeru-yoni natta-karada. Dakedo… wanano nan’idowa don-don agaru. Oreo korosu-ki man-manda.)
Tanjiro (After repeatedly descending the mountain day after day, I’m starting to learn how to avoid most of the traps. It’s because I’m much stronger now, and because I’m even more adept at detecting scents than before. Even so… the traps are getting more and more difficult. He may really want to kill me!)
Tanjiro (Kyowa, katanao motte yama-kudari. Korega hontoni jamade, teburaja naku-naruto wanani kakari-makutte-shimau.)
Tanjiro (I made my descent today, sword in hand, but the sword really hampered my movement. With the sword, I can’t stop getting ensnared in all the traps!)
Tanjiro (Kyowa katanano suburi. Kyowato iu-yori, saikin mai-nichi suburi. Yama-kudarino ato, udega mogesona hodo suburi.)
Tanjiro (I swung the sword today. Well, it’s not just today. I’ve been swinging the sword every single day. After descending the mountain, I swing my sword until my arms nearly fall off.)
Tanjiro “Sen!”
Tanjiro “1,000!”
Urokodaki “Ato gohyaku tsuika!”
Urokodaki “500 more!”
Tanjiro “Aa…”
Tanjiro “Gah!”
Urokodaki “Katanawa ore-yasui.”
Urokodaki “Swords break easily.”
Tanjiro (…To saisho-ni iwareta. Tateno chikara-niwa tsuyoi-kedo, yokono chikara-niwa yowai. Katana-niwa, chikarao massuguni noseru-koto. Yaibano mukito, katanao furu-toki komeru chikarano hokowa, mattaku onajide nakereba naranai. Sarani, katanao hason, tsumari katanao ottari-shitarada. Omaeno honemo oru-karana-to hikumeni odosareru.)
Tanjiro (That’s what he told me beforehand. Though it’s strong vertically, it’s weak horizontally. You need to apply the force straight along the blade. The blade’s direction and the direction in which you apply the force must be exactly the same. And he added, ‘if you ever damage the blade, in other words, break it, I’ll snap your bones, as well,’ in a threatening voice.)
Tanjiro “Nezuko…, niichanwa ganbaruzo.”
Tanjiro “Nezuko… I’ll keep working hard, okay?”
Tanjiro “E? U!”
Tanjiro “Huh? Urk!”
Tanjiro (Kyowa, korogashi-matsuri. Donna taiseini nattemo ukemio totte, subayaku oki-agaru kunren. Orewa katanao mochi, Urokodaki-san’o kiru-tsumoride mukatte-iku. Taishite, Urokodaki-sanwa sude, maru-goshi.)
Tanjiro (Today, I did nothing but fall. Training to break my fall and get up quickly from any position. I wield my sword, and I charge Mr.Urokodaki, really trying to kill him. In contrast, Mr.Urokodaki is bare-handed and unarmed.)
Tanjiro “Ee? Eeee”
Tanjiro “Huh? What?!”
Tanjiro (Demo, baka-mitaini tsuyoi. Orewa itsumo sugu bun-nage-rarete, jimenni korogaru.)
Tanjiro (But he’s ridiculously powerful! He flings me away to roll on the ground every time.)
Tanjiro “Tadaima, Nezuko.”
Tanjiro “I’m home, Nezuko.”
Tanjiro (Kyowa, kokyu-hoto, katano-yona mono’o narau.)
Tanjiro (Today, I learned breathing techniques and some forms.)
Tanjiro “Zen-shuchuno kokyu?”
Tanjiro “Total Concentration Breathing?”
Urokodaki “Soda. Soshite, ju aru mizuno kata subeteo omaeni oshieru. Karadano sumi-zumino saibo-made sansoga iki-wataru-yo, nagai kokyuo ishiki shiro. Karadano shizen-chiyu-ryokuo takame, seishinno anteikato kasseikao motarasu.”
Urokodaki “That’s right. And I’m going to teach you all ten of the Water Breathing forms. Remember to take a long breath so the oxygen flows into every cell in your body. This will enhance your body’s natural healing power, and both stabilize and energize your spirit.”
Urokodaki “Jo-hanshinwa yuttarito. Ka-hanshinwa dosshiri kamaeru. Yoshi, kokyu!”
Urokodaki “Relax your upper body while bracing your lower half. All right, breathe!”
Tanjiro “Guhaa!”
Tanjiro “Gah!”
Urokodaki “Chigau!”
Urokodaki “Wrong!”
Tanjiro “Uee…”
Tanjiro “Agh…!”
Urokodaki “Tsugi, kata!”
Urokodaki “Next! Forms!”
Tanjiro “Hai. Ko-desuka?”
Tanjiro “Right! Like this?”

Urokodaki “Chigau.”
Urokodaki “Wrong.”
Tanjiro “Ko?”
Tanjiro “This?”
Urokodaki “Chigau!”
Urokodaki “Wrong!”
Tanjiro (Harani chikaraga haitte-naitte okorarete, onaka ban-ban tatakareru.)
Tanjiro (I get yelled at for not bracing my stomach and an clobbered to a pulp.)
Tanjiro (Tsuzuite, mizuto hitotsuni nareto iwareru.)
Tanjiro (Next, he told me to become one with the water.)
Urokodaki “Hayaku ike.”
Urokodaki “Get in there!”
Tanjiro “A! Aaaa, Neeezuuukooo…”
Tanjiro “Ah! Ahhh! Nezuko!!”
Tanjiro “Uoooo, Nezukooo! Orewa mizudaaa! Guoo…”
Tanjiro “Ahhh! Nezuko! I am water!”
Tanjiro (Sorekara, Nezukoga mezamenaku-natte han-toshi tatsu. Urokodaki-sanga sugu ishao yonde misete-kureta-kedo, ijowa nakute. Demo… nemuri-tsuzukeru-nowa okashii. Kowa-katta. Asa okitara, koton-to shinde-shimatte-irunja naika… So kangaenai hiwa nai.)
Tanjiro (And now it’s been six months since Nezuko was last awake. Mr.Urokodaki summoned the doctor right away and had him examine her, but he found nothing wrong. But it’s not normal for her to stay asleep like this. I was scared. I worry that one morning, I’ll wake up to find her dead. Not a day goes by that I don’t worry.)
Tanjiro (Yama-kudariwa motto kewashiku, kukino usui basho-deno kunrenni naru. Shinu-kamo shirenaito nandomo omou.)
Tanjiro (My descents are getting more dangerous, and the air’s even thinner where I train. Time and time again, I think I might die.)
Urokodaki “Mo oshieru kotowa nai.”
Urokodaki “I have nothing to teach you.”
Tanjiro (Sagiri-yamani kite ichi-nengo, totsuzen iwareta.)
Tanjiro (A year after I arrived at Mt.Sagiri, he told me all of a sudden.)
Tanjiro “E?”
Tanjiro “Huh?”
Urokodaki “Atowa omae-shidaida. Omaega washino oshieta-koto’o shoka dekiruka doka. Tsuite-koi.”
Urokodaki “The rest is up to you. Whether or not you can improve to the next level. Come with me!”
Tanjiro “A”
Tanjiro “Ah…”
Urokodaki “Kono iwao kiretara, Saishu-Senbetsuni ikuno’o kyoka suru.”
Urokodaki “If you can slice this boulder, I will allow you to enter the Final Selection.”

Tanjiro (Iwatte…kiru-mono dakke? Katanade kireru-mono dakke? Kireru kiga shinai. Katanaga oreru…)
Tanjiro (Is a boulder… something you slice? Something you can slice with a sword? I don’t think I can do it. My sword will snap!)
Tanjiro “A… Urokodaki-san, matte kudasai! Urokodaki-san!”
Tanjiro “Ah…! Mr.Urokodaki, please wait! Mr.Urokodaki!”
Tanjiro (Urokodaki-sanwa, sorekara nanimo oshiete kurenaku natta.)
Tanjiro (After that, Mr.Urokodaki never taught me anything again.)

Tanjiro (Every day, I practiced over and over what I’d learned from Mr.Urokodaki. The basics like holding the breath and flexibility… I was glad I had written those down in my journal.)
Tanjiro (Tada, han-toshi tattemo iwawa kire-nakatta. Orewa aseru. Tarinai… Mada tanrenga tarinainda. Motto yaranaito. Motto!)
Tanjiro (But… even after six months had passed, I still couldn’t slice the boulder. I felt frustrated. Not enough! I’m not training hard enough! I gotta do more! More!)
Tanjiro (Ore… Dame nano-kana? Nezukowa ano-mama shinu-noka? Aa, kujikeso! Makeso!)
Tanjiro (Am I… hopeless? Is Nezuko going to die without ever waking up? Ahh! I’ll almost give in! I’m breaking down!)
Tanjiro “Ganbare ore!! Ganbare!!!”
Tanjiro “Keep working, Tanjiro! You can do it!”
Sabito “Urusai!”

Tanjiro “What are you doing?”
Sabito “Omaeno ho-koso nanio shiteiru.”

Sabito “Sorewa sorewa… Shinpai shite itadaite arigatai kotoda. Omaewa oreni kegao saseruto omotte-iru wakeda.”
Sabito “Well, well! Thank you for worrying about me. So you think you’re actually going to injure me!”
Sabito “Kokorono soko-kara anshin shiro! Orewa omae-yori tsuyoi! Iwao kitteru-karana!!”
Sabito “Well, you have absolutely nothing to worry about! I’m more powerful than you because I’ve sliced that boulder!”
Tanjiro (Iwao kitta?!)
Tanjiro (He sliced that boulder?)
Sabito “Omaewa nanimo mini tsukete-inai. Nanimo jibunno mononi shite-inai! Tokuni, Urokodaki-sanni naratta kokyu-jutsu. Zen-shuchuno kokyu.”
Sabito “You’ve learned nothing. You haven’t mastered a single thing! Particularly, the breathing technique Mr.Urokodaki taught you… Total Concentration Breathing.”
Tanjiro (Urokodaki-san’o shitteru? Kokyumo…)
Tanjiro (He knows Mr.Urokodaki? And the breathing technique, too?)
Sabito “Omaewa chishikito-shite soreo oboeta-dakeda. Omaeno karadawa nanimo wakatte-nai. Ichinen-han-mono aida, nanio yatte-ita?!”
Sabito “All you did was memorize it as fact. Your body has no clue what it needs to do. What the hell were you doing for a whole year and a half?)

Sabito “Slam it into your flesh! More! More! More! So that you’ll never forget the secrets Mr.Urokodaki taught you! Pound it into the marrow of your bones!”
Tanjiro “Yatteru! Mai-nichi yatteru, hisshide!! Demo, zen-zen dame-nanda. Maeni susume-nai, kore-ijo.”

Makomo “Kitto nareruyo. Watashiga mite ageru-mono.”
Makomo ”I’m sure you can… since I’ll be looking after you.”
Tanjiro (…Kawai-rashii…)
Tanjiro (She’s so cute…)
Tanjiro “Kimiwa dare-daro?”
Tanjiro “Who are you?”
Tanjiro (Sono on’nanokowa ‘Makomo’to itta. Ano shonenwa ‘Sabito’ dato oshiete kureta. Sarani, Makomowa oreno warui tokoro’o shiteki shite kureta. Mudana ugokio shite-iru tokoroya, kusega tsuite-iruno’o naoshite kureru. Naze so shite-kureru-noka, doko-kara kitanoka kiitemo oshiete kurenai.)
Tanjiro (This girl’s name was Makomo. She told me the boy’s name was Sabito. Makomo also pointed out my defects. She corrected my unnecessary movements and bad habits. But when I asked her why she was doing that, and where she came from, she don’t tell me anything.)
Makomo “Watashi-tachi, Urokodaki-sanga daisuki nanda.”

*Sentence in [ ] is my rough translation, since I couldn’t find real English subtitle of that part in You Tube. (I can see Japanese subtitle only in my recorded TV program and Amazon Prime Video, so I’m looking for English subtitle in You Tube of overseas anime reactors. I would be very grateful if anyone of you can let me know the real sentence of English subtitle.)

Aaaaaah I love your imagines so much.... could I please get some HaruShiki headcanons? No matter if as a ship or just as friends, you can choose, I will be happy with anything :D
Thank you for requesting this...I have been waiting for someone to make this request...
Nothing much would change in their relationship once they start dating. They’re still dumb and playful around each other, but much more intimate. Lots of sneaky kisses and hugs and secretly holding hand under the table while Jun is giving them the piano lecture. Overall just being touchy-feely~
Whenever arguments happen, neither of them could really stay mad at each other, so it will easily be resolved with an apology once they talk after cooling their heads. Then they treat each other to snacks~
Shiki both loves and hates cuddling with Haruna. The drummer is really gentle and snuggly when holding him, but once he’s fallen asleep he starts drooling....
They always share each others snacks during lunch time. Would even feed each other because that’s what couples do apparently lol
Haruna liked spoiling Shiki and would sometimes splurge his hard earned savings just to spend expensive gifts on him. Of course, Shiki feels guilty receiving them, and kept telling Haruna that he didn’t need to go overboard with the presents. They eventually agreed to compromise in the end though

Fourth production for my CATS 40th anniversary series:
Shiki/Japan 1983! This clip is the Jellicle Ball, from the 2000 bootleg in Nagoya.
This is technically a replica, but many elements of set, costume design, and choreography are significantly altered from Napier, Lynne, and Nunn's original. The Jellicle Ball is a good example of these changes, with its shifts in pacing and blocking from the Western traditions of the ball.
One particularly noticeable example is that it's the psychic 'twins' who dance the closest equivalent to the pas de deux - although they have swapped names with Cassandra and Tumblebrutus, and are often played as lovers rather than twins.
It's difficult to name cast members for Shiki, as maintain two or three alternates for each role almost all the time. We do know some names, however, and judging by those I think the date is probably c. 20/07/2000:
Kensan Ishi (Old Deuteronomy), Chie Inoue (Jellylorum), Yoko Ishi (Jennyanydots), Shoichi Fukui (Munkustrap), Shinobu Aikawa (Rumpleteazer), Yuka Takizawa (Demeter), Hitoshi Tsuzi (Mungojerrie), Eliko Mulata (Sillabub), Emi Takakula (Tantomile), Kazue Haruhara (Jemima), Kyoko Sato (Victoria), Masashi Kikuchi (Carbucketty), Koji Tomita (Cassandra).  ?Toshihide Mura (Gus), ?Tokihiko Sakamoto (Mistoffelees).

Nampō Roku, Book 5 (58):  Two Poetic Aphorisms Related to the Practice of Kane-wari, Attributed to Rikyū¹.
Tumblr media
58) [Two aphorisms in poetic form related to the practice of kane-wari, that were written on the back side of the document translated in the previous post; and attributed to Rikyū by Tachibana Jitsuzan².]
○ [From] the chigai-dana [違棚], ō-toko [大床], shoin [書院], [to the] wabi-zashiki [ワヒ座シキ = ワビ座敷], [the arrangement of the utensils] is based on the five kane of the daisu³.
○ In the small room, as well as in a room of one-thousand mats, the numbers of objects [displayed] should be based on the daisu’s nanatsu-kumi [
(These two poems were written on the back of the sheet of paper on which the previous manuscript was written.  The poems were composed by Rikyū, and inscribed with his own brush⁵.)
_________________________ ◎ As with the previous document (on which they were written), these poems are probably spurious, since the first utilizes the five-kane system (that was, in fact, favored by Rikyū), rather than the eleven-kane system that was mentioned in the document to which these poems were supposedly appended)*; while the language of the second one conflicts directly with details that are found in several of Rikyū’s own densho. ___________ *This does not necessarily preclude this poem’s having been composed by Rikyū.  Indeed, writing a poem that was commonly believed (at that time) to have been written by Rikyū would argue for the authenticity of a forgery.
¹According to the postscript appended to this entry, the poems were attributed to Rikyū by Tachibana Jitsuzan, apparently based on the handwriting, and the fact that they were written on the back of the letter (or densho) explaining the different kinds of kane-wari -- that was translated in the previous post.
²This entry was not provided with a title in the Enkaku-ji manuscript (or in any of the other versions of the text).
The use of the waka form was intended to make the details easier to remember.  This is why teachings (especially those that were important for the beginner) were often stated in poetic form.
³The first poem reads:
chigai-dana・ō-toko・shoin・wabi-zashiki     moto ha daisu no itsutsu-kane nari
“The chigai-dana, the ō-toko, the shoin, [and] the wabi-zashiki:  the foundation of these are the five-kane of the daisu.”
⁴The text of the second poem is:
ko-zashiki mo sen-jō-shiki mo mono-kazu no     moto ha daisu no nanatsu-kumi nari
“Also in the small room*, also in the thousand-mat room, the number of objects is based on the nanatsu-gumi of the daisu.”
Mono-kazu [物數] means the number of objects, how many things.
Nanatsu-gumi [七ツ組] is a machi-shū term, used in the Nampō Roku†, that refers to the “complete” arrangement of objects on the daisu:  on the ji-ita, the furo, mizusashi, shaku-tate, koboshi, and futaoki; and on the ten-ita, the chaire and chawan.
In other words, the arrangement of objects on the chigai-dana, in the ō-toko, on the dashi-fu-zukue [出し文机] (the built-in writing desk, sometimes referred to as the tsuke-shoin [付書院] today), as well as in the wabi setting, all of these are based on the idea that the numbers should be yang (odd)‡ -- since yang numbers are auspicious.
About this poem, Tanaka Senshō writes**:  “The number seven is a yang [i.e., an odd] number.  Such numbers as seven, five, three, and so on, are auspicious numbers. For this reason, even in the small room, the toko, tana, and [things placed directly on the floor of the] room, the total number of objects displayed should follow the same pattern as the seven [utensils] that are displayed [on the daisu]. (It is important to point out that this [use of the number seven] has nothing to do with the seven-kane system that is employed in the inakama; therefore, one should be careful [not to confuse the one with the other].)
“But, having said that, the nanatsu-gumi of the daisu, and the seven-kane that are employed on the inakama-daisu:  both make use the auspicious number seven.  Likewise, this number seven is also found in the mitsu-ori [by adding the four interstitial kane], in the four seasons††, and so forth.
“When divided into two parts, [seven] yields three and four; or two and five.  The number of objects can also be broken down into sets that have an auspicious meaning:  one, two, three; or, seven, five, three, and so on.  When you think about it, the root number is always the seven objects arranged on the daisu:  from this [example of the daisu] comes the teaching that is described in this poem.”
However, the difficulty in accepting the authenticity of this poem has less to do with the meaning (which may well be authentic to the point of being a truism -- assuming we do not take the number “seven” too literally -- at least during the daytime), than with the terminology used in this poem -- which pointedly deviates from the usages prescribed, in detail, in several of Rikyū’s own densho‡‡. __________ *Ko-zashiki [小座鋪] is another way to write ko-zashiki [小座敷] that seems to have been favored (in certain circles) during the Edo period.
†This is used as an example used in the support of the argument that the Nampō Roku was written by Tachibana Jitsuzan by those scholars (who are by and large not affiliated with any of the modern tea schools) who prefer to hold that opinion.  (Often these people prefer to keep this opinion to themselves, since publishing such things, in Japan, would be tantamount to committing professional suicide -- as can be attested by the repeated attacks that have been made on this blog, initiated by people affiliated with a certain modern school.)
‡Perhaps the full count should be yin (even) at night.
††Perhaps Tanaka is referring to the seven classical “seasons” that traditionally governed the practice of chanoyu:
◦ shun [春], spring (the planting season);
◦ u-zen [雨前], the month or so before the rainy-season begins (characterized by increasingly frequent overcast skies and rain);
◦ u-chū [雨中], during the rainy-season;
◦ u-go [雨後], the spell of intense heat that follows the end of the rainy-season;
◦ shū [秋], autumn (the harvest season);
◦ shō-kan [小寒], early winter;
◦ dai-kan [大寒], the period of intense cold that occurs around the beginning of the new year.
Or, perhaps (since he characterizes this as “the four seasons,” when, in fact, there are seven) he was not really clear about this ancient (and secret) series, and was simply relating something that his source (one of the last surviving of the Enkaku-ji scholars) had mentioned to him in passing (without that person’s having gone into the details).
This series of seasons is extremely important, since it defines the way that we stage a gathering at any given point during the year -- including how we select the utensils.  Unfortunately, this is another teaching that has been lost to many of the modern schools.
‡‡According to Rikyū, nanatsu-kazari [七ツ餝] refers to the (1) kama, (2) furo, (3) mizusashi, (4) hishaku, (5) shaku-tate, (6) koboshi, and (7) futaoki (rather than to the (1) kama-furo, (2) mizusashi, (3) shaku-tate, (4) koboshi, (5) futaoki, (6) chaire, and (7) chawan, as used by the machi-shū).
Furthermore, he continues that the word kazari [餝] should be used when talking about the things arranged on the ji-ita, while kumi [組] should be used when discussing the things displayed on the ten-ita.
He then goes on to explain that this was all a secret teaching, the purpose of which was expressly to distinguish those persons who had been initiated into the orthodox teachings of the daisu, from those who had not -- the latter (he writes) being people who use nanatsu-gumi (to mean the furo and kaigu, plus the chaire and the chawan).
The machi-shū affiliated with Imai Sōkyū appear to have preferred this later terminology, and that is why it is commonly used by the modern schools.
It is because of differences such as these, between Rikyū's actual writings and what is found in the secondary sources (the Nampō Roku is, at best, a secondary source), that certain modern schools argue that Rikyū's actual writings are fake, while the documents that they cherish (which are largely the writings derived from the machi-shū tradition) are the only true representation of the ancient teachings.
Rikyū no ji-ei ji-hitsu
“With respect to these two poems, they were [found] on the back side of the page mentioned at the right.  [They were] self-composed [and] self-written by Rikyū.”
The poems were written on the back side of the sheet on which the drawings of the various sorts of kane-wari were found.  Rikyū both composed the poems, and inscribed them there “with his own brush.”
According to Shibayama Fugen, this note was appended by Tachibana Jitsuzan.  Tanaka Senshō, while he does not explicitly ascribe the authorship to Jitsuzan, notes that it was written in the margin of the page, in red ink.

Hey, same person who told you which A3! VAs can rap, again. TY for responding earlier.
I just check the info on BLACKSTAR’s version of Journey to the West on which charas they are on the hero team. The Sanzo chara is the audience member & the feat. charas in the Japanese names are Son Goku for Akira, Cho Hakkai for Ran, Sha Gojou for Rindou, Gyokuryu(Yu Long in Chinese), a dragon prince, for Sinju, & Kanseonbosatsu(Guanyin), a Buddhist deity, for Takami.
After learning which charas the hero team portrays, it made me want to compare it with the A3! Journey to the West charas on who portrays the role better: A3!’s Kumon vs. BLACKSTAR’s Akira for Son Goku; A3!’s Yuki vs. BLACKSTAR’s Ran for Cho Hakkai; & A3!’s Misumi’s vs. BLACKSTAR’s Rindou for Sha Gojou. But since BLACKSTAR made Sanzo the audience members where there’s a mix of genders in all ages for a hero show, I can’t make a comparison w/ A3!’s Kazunari’s Sanzo, but just in case I’ll compare A3!’s Kazu’s Sanzo w/ BLACKSTAR’s Takami’s Kanseonbosatsu for the spiritual advisor role.
Unfortunately, I don’t have info on which Journey to the West charas the villains team play, other than Yoshino playing a gender switch role of Princess Iron Fan, so for now it’ll just be A3!’s Tenma’s Kinkaku & A3!’s Muku’s Ginkaku vs. BLACKSTAR’s villain team for the villain roles.
Also the BLACKSTAR songs based on Journey to the West are “Call me, Baby!” for the hero team & “Period..” for the villain team.
Hello! Sorry for not answering this earlier. I finally got some time to spare (´。• ᵕ •。`)
Thanks to the comparison I got better which one is which. I'm not good with names (ーvー;). I think this would be very interesting though! Costume wise both looks great.
Hey, same person who told you which A3! VAs can rap, again. Just wanted to say Happy Birthday to ParaLive’s Shiki & SK8’s Reki on 08/08! Also, congratulations to the 3 ParaLive groups for reaching the finals + Happy Birthday to ParaLive’s Inukai on 08/12 & to TWST’s Ortho on 08/14!
Yey, first half of August birthdays! I didn't know Shiki and Reki shared BD. Wait, the paralive results are out?! Aah, congrats to them. I'm so excited for the final round!

DAY THIRTEEN - RAIN PAIR: Shiki/Kazuha  WC: 1053 NOTE: I will promise you all, Shiki is, well, Shiki. He’s really just, how do I really describe it. For a final route in a game that did come overseas, it’s quite an experience. Both times I played through Period:Cube, I had to pause at certain points. ToriKou does really well, but like he’s... Well, thanks for fun and memorable times, pcube!
“Rain, huh?”
He supposes many of these little fools will be scrambling to take one of those elusive special quests, if they’ve gotten the location and timing right. Not that they really matter too much, in the end. Frolic, struggle, die for all he cares. Any so daring as to defy his code is trash, anyhow.
The only thing that really matters is preserving her.
Oh, if only he didn’t have to blink, if only he could fill every last image of his sight with her. How unfair she is, how careless she is, to fall asleep so openly, as if inviting him to stare all he wishes. Aa-ah, he must have some self-control, mustn’t he? What if she is to wake up?
Just her breathing makes it harder and harder to resist her. A temptress, she really is.
How he’s missed her.
She wasn’t supposed to come here, but thanks to a certain boy who doesn’t listen, one whose name will be said with sweet vehement later.
But, stupid, foolish rats like him should go perish about the storm clouds. Perhaps a strike or two by lightning might get him to stop heeling to the wrong end. There are things in this world that are most certainly not as convenient as he’d like, and unfortunately his dear, sweet Kazuha is... attached to him. For worse, of course.
Too, too kind, for her own good.
“Kazuha, why are you like this?”
Unlike what his words may seem like, they hold her in no disdain. He knows well she cannot answer him -- she sleeps like a log, and he’s very grateful for it, in times like these.
“Falling asleep clutching Poyo-Poyo... Looking so terribly adorable...”
When his preparations are complete, he’ll be able to welcome her to the world he built, just for her. A special world, free of needless worries, where nothing that can scare her, worry her, should remain. A place where she can prosper, smile, be. A kind, beautiful world fill with anything and everything she likes.
It could be that she’s sleeping better because the rain is calming her. Or maybe it’s because he’s here right now, even if she can’t speak to him quite yet.
“What should I do?”
Once again, he speaks to the air, gently stroking her head, then moving to trace her spine. Looks like he’s running low on time. A pity.
Outside the downpour picks up. World V’s just as patterned as ever, but these are particularly noisy. Well, he did have to enact a few things, since things ended up off his initial plan. Nothing will harm her though, he’ll make sure of it.
That little group that’ll most certainly put her in danger soon, how will he make them kneel to him, and her.
Flash, crack, distress contorts her peaceful form, and he leans in, placing one hand over her eyes. The other goes to her hand, rubbing over it slowly. These faces she’s making, he wants to be the only one to see them all, special to him. More and more, he wants to explore more, see every expression she makes -- oh, what will she think of him afterwards? Will she still love him?
Now, now, calm down
“Say, Kazuha, you don’t need to worry. I’m here,” he says, gently. Only for her, solely for her.
Every sacrifice, mere stepping stones. What’s driven him here, the rivers fueled by pours and pours of her.
The outside weather lets up, just as the sun begins to rise. She’s at ease now, and will likely wake. It’s that time then, even if he doesn’t want it to be. He’s held back, so much, but she continues to tempt him, she continues to leave herself wide open.
Standing, he steps away from the bed. Examining himself one last time, and then glancing to her. The blood that’s stained his clothes -- he must clean that again soon -- each and everything second that’s passed since that day. Even his friend, the one that absolutely couldn’t meet her... He closes his eyes, and leaves.
Time for his alternate to enter the scene, the lovable, unassuming little character.
As he enters once more, Kazuha slowly opens her eyes, yawning and stretching out, before placing her hand to her heart. What is she thinking? He’s right, even these moments, precious.
“Poyo~?”
“Ah, good morning... Poyo-Poyo,” her voice still is laced with sleep,
“Hmhm, a very fantastic morning to you, Kazuha-chan, poyo! Did you sleep well, poyo? A sweet girl like you deserves the best rest, poyo.”
“Mm, I had a strange dream...”
“Yoyoyo... Care to tell little old Poyo-Poyo, poyo?”
“I don’t mind,” Kazuha speaks, rubbing her eyes and smiling at him, as if the sight of this cute mascot character relaxes her so dearly, despite the different words that may come from it. “It was pouring, so I hid in a cave. You were there, but you weren’t talking, so I held you...”
Kazuha... Dear him, dear him! Poyo-Poyo’s eyes might very well turn to hearts!
“Thunder started, and it got really scary, but then my eyes were covered, and I thought I heard Onii-san say it would be alright, and then I woke up. But, it really felt like he was there.”
“Kazuha-chan must just really miss him, poyo!”
“Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too. I hope I can find him...”
“Poyo-Poyo will be sure to help you all he can, poyo!”
Is there anything she’s not telling him? Secrets that are held in those pretty, bright eyes of hers? How innocent she is, how...
“I’m really grateful!”
There is it again, that smile of hers. Even if she’s worried about him, his whereabouts, she can’t help but smile, but trust what she knows of him. Soon, Kazuha, there’s so much I...
Her joys swells, and she once again takes hold of Poyo-Poyo, hugging him close to her chest. He wonders if she remembers a more distant time... but, Ah! Kazu--
Then, she squeezes.
“Gyaaaa! Too tight!”
“I’m sorry!” She releases him quickly, her cheeks turning pinker, and pinker still. She’s becoming so...
Kazuha’s gaze falls upon the window, and she chirps, “Oh, there’s no more rain now! I wonder if Ira-chan and the others are downstairs...”
“Uuu, Kazuha-chan, your cuteness probably made the clouds part, poyo~”

Since the HaruShiki headcanons were so awesome, can I get HaruHai (Haruno/Haida) ones too? Pretty please? *v* Paranormal Academy is my fave event...
//Paranormal AU coming right up!
Haruno is actually quite the hit with the ladies. Jou had to constantly keep a close eye on him when he’s interacting with any living female. Haruno honestly finds it cute that he’s the jealous type, but assures Jou that he’d be faithful to him
Haruno would often visit the student council room to bother Jou whenever he felt like it. And though, Jou wont admit it, he appreciates Haruno’s company
In turn, Jou would casually crash in Haruno’s place lol
Of course, Haruno would make sure that Jou is bonding and getting along with his friends, Reiji and Shishio too
Their favorite pass time is taking naps together. With lots of cuddling of course~
