The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show is a late night syndicated television talk show hosted by Keenen Ivory Wayans. The show premiered August 4, 1997, and was unfortunately cancelled in March 1998. In a 2013 interview by the Television Academy Foundation, Wayans expressed displeasure working on the show as he was not given complete creative freedom. His involvement on the show is often teased by his siblings.

It was filmed at Studio 9A, Hollywood Center Studios Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA.

Keenen Ivory Desuma Wayans (born June 8, 1958) is an actor, comedian, filmmaker, and member of the Wayans family of entertainers. He first came to prominence as the host and the creator of the sketch comedy series In Living Color. He has produced, directed, and/or written several films, starting with Hollywood Shuffle, which he co-wrote.

A majority of his films have included him and one or more of his brothers and sisters in the cast.

Scary Movie, which he directed, was the highest-grossing movie directed by an African American. He hosted the talk show The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show. He was a judge for the eighth season of Last Comic Standing.

He attended Seward Park High School during his teenage years and attended Tuskegee University on an engineering scholarship. He entertained his friends at college with made-up stories about life in New York. He dropped out of school the semester before graduation to focus on comedy.

He single-handedly created a nationally televised platform for African American music and culture that featured the biggest names in soul, R&B, and hip-hop. Soul Train was a showcase for Black music luminaries such as James Brown, Aretha Franklin, and Stevie Wonder while also serving as a launchpad for future stars including LL Cool J, New Edition, and Mariah Carey. Cornelius believed in the “Black is beautiful” movement of the 1960s and said that he “had a burning desire to see Black people presented on television in a positive light.” Soul Train set lasting trends in music, dance, and fashion, and the charismatic Cornelius transformed the show into one of the most formative cultural movements in the world. 

Don Cornelius was one of the first African Americans to serve as creator and executive producer of a television show. Soul Train dates to Cornelius’ days as a news reporter in Chicago, where he hosted concerts at local high schools – the series’ rapid school-to-school schedule was dubbed the “Soul Train.” To streamline his operation, Cornelius shifted his focus to television with a daily afternoon dance show on Chicago’s local WCIU-TV. Debuting on August 17, 1970, Soul Train was an immediate hit, and the program quickly expanded to seven other cities and moved its headquarters to Los Angeles. For the viewers, Soul Train was a breath of fresh air – captivating musical performances, unscripted mid-show conversations, product lines specifically marketed to a Black audience, and, of course, the infamous “Soul Train Line” that ended each broadcast. Questlove has asserted the vast impact of the show, calling it “a sibling, a parent, a babysitter, a friend, a textbook, a newscast, a business school, and a church.”

Knowing it from the one quote about parents you always see on Tumbler Post. Ya know the one. But ya it so good. I love how it expore, not nessaily abuse parents, but just shitty and how that lack of love or support can affect someone. Thought i would say that for one of the siblings (kinda spoliers?) it make a point about how I forgot they were in a way there sibilng never was and then... never gave them a story?? Like it was just like there were there, talk about their reasonship with there shitty father, and then move on to how it effcted the other two sllblings. While with the other two they showed many time there reaship with their father. I dont i was just confused that one part. It's still a good movie. I'm just kinda confused. 8/10

I liked this. It feels like watching a train wreck, someone who so stuck in the past that they think that everyone is as stuck as they are, and how that stubborn can affect every aspect of a person life. Idk i think it's really interesting to think about, esapalliy the main charater. 8/10

This man would listen to business bro podcasts and be too into American pyhco. I liked it. The main thing i love was the music. It scored like of those big success stories, but everything shows Horrfic, so at times, can give you this very off-putting feeling. It is just everything about the story, and the main character was made to put you off in some way, and I love it. 7/10

I watched it all in a day while working on a painting, and it was ok??, idk, think it has that problem that i can't really put my figure on, but it is the same one that couldn't get me into fleagbag, i guess. I found the main couple be insuffable in a way that i didn't want them to end up together and actively hoped they ended off worse than when the show started. I like a lot of the secondary relationships thought. I read a bit about and it said that it was originally a play and i think probaly would have liked it more if i watch it as a play 5(maybe less the more i think about it)/10

Marlon Lamont Wayans (July 23, 1972) is an actor, comedian, writer, and producer. He began his career portraying a pedestrian in I’m Gonna Git You Sucka (1988). He went on to regularly collaborate with his brother Shawn Wayans on The Wayans Bros. (1995-99) and in the comedy films Scary Movie (2000), Scary Movie 2 (2001), White Chicks (2003), Little Man (2006), and Dance Flick (2009).
