Favourite title you used: Ajsdkajfkljadskfdsjklj that might be "Tula's Dad Has Got Me Down Bad" in reference to Sub-Radio's parody "Stacy's Dad Has Got Me Down Bad". It's an absolute rare pair fic with Luke and a character from the 2015 Star Wars comic run - that character so happens to be a dad and have a daughter and. Yeah. Let's just say one of my hcs is that Luke has a thing for older men.

How many WIPs do you have in your docs for next year? Hoo boi, ask me something I know. A few? They're all over the place really.

The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year? No character really gave me trouble writing them this year I think 🤔 Honestly, if I had trouble writing anyone I probably wouldn't be writing them in the first place.

12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?

In general I used to dislike most shipfics but I've mellowed in that sense. Because of that I was also sceptical of a lot of the classic fanfic tropes, like there was only one bed, roommates, being forced into close quarters, etc., but it just takes a really good fic to break that. A trope is only as good as its writer.

That said, I can't think of any specific L&V tropes that I disliked but grew on me.

25. What other websites or resources do you use most often when you write?

Mainly YouTube for my writing playlists! I also love Wookieepedia for obvious reasons and this map of the GFFA.

30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter?

For a long time, writing humour or anything lighthearted was incredibly alien to me. In-Law and Order and Executor Given were both experiments that I struggled to finish, but after I'd finished them and I had positive feedback, I took writing humour more in-stride and I really enjoy writing some more comedic pieces. I'm currently trying to work on a subplot in The Night Ferry which has Luke and Biggs - gasp - actually being sexually attracted to each other, which as an ace lesbian was a very strange and difficult thing to write for the first chapter, and I can't wait to push myself further later.

Hi! I thought I’d might switch it up and ask you for a prompt for my writing, if it’s not to big of an ask. Please and thank you.

My brain hasn’t shut up about the famous Jedi General Obi-Wan and Stunt Man Anakin, so I’m writing a story. One scene in the middle won’t cooperate though.

Let’s see what you can come up with without me giving too much away.

I need to get from point A: Ventress attacking Obi-Wan to point B: Obi-Wan lying hurt on the ground with a bleeding cut up in his hair, and Anakin defeating Ventress though he only has a prop lightsaber.

😱😱 im never asked to give prompts but what i can see being in between point a and point b is that on set the jedi being filmed aren't actually allowed to use their real lightsabers because even if a hit from them doesn't necessarily kill you/hurt, you still get a red mark from it which is just hell to cover up during hair and makeup

so obi-wan of course does not have his real lightsaber when the sith attack. and the sith do attack because this is a wildly vulnerable move on the republic's part.

and the practice sabers are weighted all wrong, weighted towards the stunt doubles' preferences over the jedis' preferences so yeah i can see obi-wan trying to protect someone on set but not having the weapon necessary to go head to head with ventress, but then she just doesn't expect anakin!

13 What’s your longest work of the year? This is easy to answer. At 24k words its Don’t Discount Your Sith Father when Searching for a Jedi Master. It's my longest completed work. Ever. I've written longer things, but then I've abandoned them or left them on haitus. This is the longest thing I've written that you can reliably know has an ending.

17 Favourite chracter to write this year? Who have I enjoyed the most? Probably Obi-Wan Kenobi. As I started writing Star Wars fic last year, I concentrated on Anakin and felt most sure in how I wrote him. Obi-Wan was trickier, but I feel more comfortable with him now. It really helped that we got new, excellent material to draw from with the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

19 Favorite line/passage you wrote this year? This goes together with both previous answers. It's a passage from Don't discount your sith father when searching for a Jedi master which I wrote while OBK was releasing. Twice, I predicted lines that were in the show. I said then that I wouldn't shut up about it. And here I am, bringing it up again. The week before the episode, I made Vader say: "you should have killed me when you had the chance." And in the same scene I wrote "I am what remains" and wouldn't you know it, a couple of weeks later Vader said that in the last episode. I felt and still feel extremely smug in that my understanding of the characters is spot on.

“You’ll send him to his death.” “Better dead than a Sith.” “Then you should have killed me when you had the chance.” Devastation coloured Obi-Wan through the Force and greyed out his features. He dropped his saber. Vader could have cut him down. For a second, he moved to do so, before twirling his saber and holding back. This wasn’t the time. This Obi-Wan had not suffered enough. His suffering would never be enough. “I didn’t mean that. I… Death wouldn’t… I’m sorry. Do you care about the boy? You seem like you do. Does that mean you lied?” He reached out a hand shaking with fine tremors. Vader stepped out of its reach. “Anakin—” “No. Don’t call me Anakin. I was wrong. You did kill him. I am what remains. If you're sorry, you should help me get him. The Force that sent him here will tear him apart. Returning isn’t as easy as wishing for it.”

Thank you. I don’t feel like I can take full credit for the colours. It’s based on a beautiful photo taken at twilight. I created a colour pallet based on it to get that rather soft set of colours. I’m glad the piece over all reads well as I by this point I’ve mainly focused on getting the composition right. Details are to come. I hope I’ll be able to keep some of the blurred bits. Same as sharper contrast in colours, dark and light draw the eye, details do the same.
