Camp Cretaceous/Chaos Theory Arcane AU Part 1

I’ve been mulling over this AU for a while now and I’ll put the info in read more so it doesn’t take over my home page, but I would like to thank @mangosaurus and @theobscuredigit for helping me sort out my thoughts and bounce off ideas regarding the AU! Also this mostly covers act 1 of Arcane so I’ll probably do another part of this covering acts 2 and 3.

I’ve been working through what characters would fit which roles in the arcane universe and I’ve finally come to a somewhat solid conclusion on where I’m taking this AU if I decide to do more about it in the future (or it’s just this one off thing, maybe I’ll write a fic about it. I’m unsure), so here we go!

Yaz -> Vi- A head strong and athletic young girl who lost her mom due to a tragic conflict between the Undercity and Piltover. She’s the leader of a rag tag group of fellow orphans, those of which greatly admire her. While she may put on an act of having everything together she’s extremely terrified of letting those she loves down, especially her adoptive younger brother Ben who is the most important person in her life.

Ben -> Powder- Yaz found Ben all alone during the conflict that took the lives of the twos parents, and from that day forward Yaz became Ben’s protector and sister. Although, timid, Ben is determined to prove he can pull his own weight within the group. However, his attempts often fail leading disastrous consequences, which Yaz and the others have to end up resolving. The only person that Ben believes doesn’t see him as a burden is his best friend, Darius.

Mae -> Vander- Adoptive mother of both Ben and Yaz, she found the two during the conflict between Piltover and the Undercity. She also takes care of two other children she found during the aftermath and is well respected in the Undercity, due to her not so savory past. She now tries to keep the peace between the two nations, while also struggling to manage the rebellious children under her care.

Kenji -> Mylo- One of the other two children under Mae’s care. Unlike everyone else in the group who are orphans, Kenji was abandoned by his father after his mother passed away, using the chaos of the conflict going on in the Undercity as a way to make a clean break. Kenji greatly admires Yaz, and hopes to be someone that can proudly stand by her side, however his cockiness and laziness get the better of him. While he does care for Ben, he ends up giving the kid a hard time due to how often he messes up jobs. He believes that Ben somehow hexes the group whenever he joins them on outings.

Sammy -> Claggor- One of the other two children under Mae’s care as well as Yaz’s girlfriend. During the conflict, Sammy was separated from her parents and later found out they were killed during it. With no where else to go, she finds Mae and gets taken in by her. While trying to keep things positive in the group, it’s clear that she share the same hatred for those in Piltover as her friends, citing them as the reason why she lost everything.

Darius -> Ekko- Best friend of Ben as well as the son of the local pawn shop owner, he supplies tips he hears from his dad’s shop about wealthy customers to his friends. He highly respects Ben and motivates him to keep trying even when he wants to give up, being a guiding light in Ben’s life.

Brooklynn -> Caitlyn- The daughter of one of Piltover’s councilman. Her biggest dream is to investigate the inside details of Piltover and the Undercity’s rocky relationship and hope to achieve this by becoming one of the cities top enforcers in the future. She also assists Henry Wu in his work from time to time as he was taken under her families wing.

Here are the other roles that I don’t feel like writing descriptions for as of this moment but probably will if I go more into depth with this AU

I'm not completely sure if the timelines match up, but my personal theory is that Bens mystery girlfriend is Maisie Lockwood from the movie series.

I think it'd be a cool way to merge the two series at least. Especially because I would love to see both casts working together :))

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous movie sequel idea (JUST FAKE!!! NOTHING IS OFFICIAL!!!!)

Title: Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous: Return to Nublar

Rating: PG (Or PG-13? You decide)

Setting: A year or two after Dominion

Inspiration: Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Jurassic World franchise

Changes: Casey is 25 now, Kenji and Yaz are now 24, Ben and Sammy are 23, Brooklynn is 22, and Darius is 21. Dave and Roxie are married. Mae has a girlfriend now. Tiff is still alive.

Antagonists: The Ultra Rex (A combination of the Indominus, Indoraptor, Scorpios, and Gigantosaurus); Tiff; Edie, a dinosaur smuggler; Audrey, a former member of InGen; Tommy Oliver, director at Ultratech

Premise:

In 2023, the Camp Fam’s lives could not be any better, Darius and Ben are dating; Kenji and Brooklynn plan to get married; Casey and April are planning the same; and Yaz and Sammy are married. Life could not be any better than before…until April and Caroline (Casey’s mother) are kidnapped by Ultratech, a company that plans to rebuild Biosyn from the ground up again and build an army of human-Dino hybrids with April’s blood. The situation is even worse when the ex-campers learn that the factory is built on a now restored Isla Nublar.

With no other option and with Claire, Owen, Maisie, Alan Grant, Ellie Stantler, and others busy with law things, the heroes have to travel back to Nublar and save April and Caroline. During the journey, they go through an emotional and physical journey to accept the harsh realities in where they come from and are forced to fight enemies new and old.

Jurassic World: Camp Fam - Next Generation

I was board, so I made a next gen for the Nublar Six, based on my personal headcanons and ships so if you don't like Benrius and Kenlynn, then please don't come at me. This is all just in good fun.

Emily Bowman (Benrius)

Emily was nine-years old when her parents were unfortunately killed in a freak dinosaur attack, leaving her orphaned. Darius and Ben responded to the call and took her into their care. She stayed with them for a little while whilst Social Services began sorting out her situation, wherein during that time, Emily gotten to get to know Darius and Ben and what they do; how they locate dinosaurs, care for them, and ship them off to private island habitats funded by Dr Mae Turner and Mantah Corp, now under Kenji’s full jurisdiction. She even began to conquer her fear after making friends with a Maiasaura she named Ursa.

She was eventually put into a foster home, but the conditions were poor, so she decided to run away and return to the Sanctuary, via stealing the mum’s credit card to book a plane ticket.

Darius and Ben were shocked to see Emily and horrified to hear about the living conditions. After sending her to bed, they had a long talk about how they had once talked about adopting and raising a family, agreeing they both adored Emily and didn’t want her to go. So they gave Emily the good news the next morning that they would adopt her into the family and she said yes.

Fun Fact: Ursa the Maiasaura is a direct nod to concept dinosaurs that would eventually become Bumpy, as Maiasaura was one of the many plausible candidates.

2. Julia and Xavier Kon (Kenlynn)

Despite their ups and downs, concerning Brooklynn’s line of work and Kenji's inheritance of Manta Corp, Brooklynn tries extra hard to live in the moment and not take her time with her family and friends for granted and Kenji works hard to ensure that the Kon family name is redeemed through his work. Regardless of their hardships, they work well together and support each other through their struggles.

Julia Kon is the more extraverted of the duo. She takes after her father, enjoys skating, archery and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty, preferring physical activities to staying coped up indoors all day. Her brother Xavier is more closed off then his sister. Younger by two years, he prefers technology and hacking to climbing and being outdoors.

Despite their differences, two things they have in common is their love for their family and their association with dinosaurs. Namely the herd of Parasaurolophus living by their father’s climbing camp. Every month, Kenji would take the family camping at the cliffs and the kids would play with the baby Parasaurolophuses. One in particular took a real shine to the children; Brooklynn affectionately named her Nightlight, due to how Xavier would snuggle her tightly due to his fear of the dark when they went camping.

Fun Fact: Julia and Xavier are named after Brooklynn and Kenji's original concepts for Camp Cretaceous, Jules and Xi respectively. Also, Kenji and Ben used to have different roles, with Ben being the strong, athletic character while Kenji (at this point in time, Xi) was the shy, nerdy type. They since swapped roles, with Ben becoming the shy one and Xi taking the role of the rich kid and was renamed Kenji.

3. Katie Gutierrez-Fadoula (Yasammy)

When Sammy and Yaz got married and talked about starting a family, they realized there were some complications: Sammy's encounter with the Scorpios Rex damaged her reproductive organs and left her unable to carry a child to term, and Yaz was uncomfortable with the idea of ordering a doner. So in the end, they agreed to adopt.

Katie loves her moms and her life at the ranch. She enjoys spending time with Angel and Rebel, who they were able to rescue and keep on the ranch (best cattle dogs Sammy ever had), tending to the cows, chickens and the stray Pachycephalosaurus that had been hanging around the ranch lately, who she has named Bonehead. She came out to her mums as trans when she was 13 and they wholeheartedly support her through her transition.

Fun Fact: Katie is a sorta merge of Sammy and Yaz's concepts. Sammy was originally meant to be male and Yaz's name was originally Katie.

Anyway, those are my versions of the next generation of Camp Fam. I hope you like them and again, this is just all in good fun; I'm not trying to start any shipping wars.

Rough timeline for lovebite's relationship (name of the ship by @silverthelovebug ) in my au

They meet sometime when Kon's work with dinosaurs only started, as a scientist and a hired raptor professional. Got rather close in process of raising the first few dinosaurs and training them (mostly to be still when med-drone scanes them, to go away with a sound signal,etc)

After Handler's contrant has expired, she and Mae continued talking in video calls and in texting, sharing information about raising and caring for dinosaurs - maybe Handler's atroceraptors are already in picture by this point, growing and being trained.

After the nublar six and Mae start the scandal with Kenji's father, Handler gets the news about crimes being done on Mae's island and gets concerned, but Mae reaches out to reassure her, they keep talking afterwards.

Somewhere after Mae's island gets raided and campers get Bumpy out, Handler's organisation captures her -> Hadler has to catch Mae herself, so Mae wouldn't be harmed. Causes a bit of a rift, but when Mae realises that Handler protects her from being "disposed", she comes around a bit.

It’s finally done. I’ve done it, I’ve finished up the Chaos Theory X Night in the Woods AU designs that I’ve been working on.

Below are their individual designs and which characters they’re based on within the AU, but it was so fun to do these designs! Especially since I had to study the nitw style and I love that game stylistically. (Also I will be working on a Brooklynn design but I’m tired from working on this all afternoon)

-Darius as Mae Borowski. Darius returns to his hometown after a less than stellar time away working for the DPW (Department of Park Wildlife). He’s back to reconnect with his old friends, as well as figure out what’s going on in his mind. Right now his goal is just to focus on the present.

-Ben as Bea Santello. Ben is one of the numerous people stuck in Isla Springs after the unfortunate passing of his mother forcing him to take over the family shop. He’s not so thrilled with Darius’s return considering how they left things the last time they spoke. Darius, however is determined to not let this connection die once again

-Kenji as Germ Warfare. Boyfriend of Brooklynn, he mainly hangs around the outskirts of town following her sudden disappearance. He eventually establishes a close brotherly bond with Darius, being a guiding figure in his life (but what’s a close bond without shenanigans thrown in).

-Sammy as Gregg Lee. Sammy works hard everyday to eventually get enough money to move herself and her girlfriend out of Isla Springs. However, once her high school buddy Darius moves back into town she slips back into old habits, which causes some tension between her and Yaz.

-Yaz as Angus Delaney. Yaz is Sammy’s anchor and is also working hard to have a better life for the both of them. While she does care deeply for Sammy often times she feels that being the responsible one is a burden and is afraid of communicating that to Sammy.

Ughhh I have so many ideas for this AU that I might as well start writing fanfiction, but I hope you enjoy these drawings that I did as much as I enjoyed designing them!

What I would love to happen in Jurassic World Chaos Theory season 2:

- Bumpy is safe (that episode had me in tears- would like to avoid again please)

- Finding out why Sammy’s family is not talking to her?

- Darius ring your mother. She can not go through this again (especially if Kenji calls once a week shes gonna think something happened to both her boys)

- Ben’s girlfriend confirmed fake (please- my boy was clutching his pearls when he thought Sammy wanted to split from Yaz 💅🏻✨)

- Darius and Kenji still being a little awkward/not fully normal with eachother (Darius tip toeing around Kenji, Kenji still needing a moment here and there, etc.)

- Yassammy! 🥰

- Ben being Yassammy’s biggest supporter (he’s such a girls girl💕)

- Big Ben and his new found goof status (I just need more)

- One of the camp fam (preferably Yaz or Kenji) making an off-hand comment about Ben being so big cause of all the grubs he ate on Nublar

- A glimpse into life for the campers once they got back to the main land (were they bullied at school, did they have to testify in court against Mr. Kon, reconnecting with “normal” life, etc.)

- More tie ins to the movie franchise

- More on their trauma and mental health issues and how to cope/coping mechanisms being actively shown and used

- More sassy Darius/done Darius (his little micro upsets like firing at the sky and kicking the tyre)

- Kenji having a nightmare about his dad to parallel Darius’ in season 2 of JWCC

- Dino nerds Sammy, Darius and Ben geeking out/getting competitive with their knowledge

- Mae, Roxy and Dave please

- Firecracker, Angel and Rebel also thank you

- Kenji and Ben hug (why are they like the only characters who don’t get to hug?!)

- A group hug that includes Ben (he’s always left out on the group bonding😭)
