next up, the parents!

as i said last time, jecht is the mayor of destiny island, and effectively the world's ruler. so when a child from another world washed up, he took her in and made sure that both this mystery girl and his own son both would uphold world order. but they could at least talk amongst themselves at home about where kairi could be from.

sora's parents, hikaru and suna, help out around town with all sorts of things, though primarily hikaru is a fisherman and suna does woodworking. they each wear a broken piece of a wayfinder suna made for hikaru before they got married that was damaged when hikaru was caught in a storm. but he made it home safely (and he swears up and down it was thanks to her).

riku's parents, kasumi and iwao, aren't as outgoing as hikaru and suna, but still do their part. kasumi often leads town meetings with a patient yet firm approach to listening to each concern. and iwao is a jeweler, and the necklace kasumi wears was the first thing he ever made on his own. he's still embarrassed by it, but she wears it with pride.

This is their ux apperance, although I have slightly changed their design from there. I’ve got a decent amount of old art from my other sketchbook for them but I don’t have that at the moment soooo you’re just gonna have to live with this.

They were in Anguis and were in a team with Strelitzia and Elrena for a time before they died in the keyblade war (might think of more of a dynamic with them and the team at a later date). Afterwards they were reborn as the Pegaslick dreameater

Ngl this is all I really have for them atm. I’ve had this oc for a while but I never did much with them… I guess they’re my main oc?

@khoc-week 2023 time! Day 1 - Introductions

Noticed something familiar about them? Yep, it's my personal extention to Mr Attitude (green-haired boy) and his friend (dirty-blonde(?) Boy).

They're both 10/11-years old during X(chi) and around 14 by the time Union cross ends.

Damond and Stephen are both in Ursus, in the party Aced's Cubs, with Damond being in theatre club and Stephen in art club.

At the end of union Cross, they and a number of the Dandelions escaped from data Daybreak town via the cable to Game central station. They're currently living their lives there since.

I'll add more details later, but for now, I hope you'll all enjoy their story!

What kind of story is it?

It is OC (original character) centric, but it does include many characters from the main series and expands on them some more. It is set pre the first game and sets up its events, so the main lore will be uncovered through the lens of someone as new to it as someone just starting the series. I want it to be for anyone of any age so I want to avoid overly mature content, but there will be some deeper and darker themes explored in a very all-ages sort of way.

As for genre, it is mostly:

I got brain rot for two hours... so I finished this little one I had in the deeps of my archive!

So recently in the last couple months I’ve been working on a kh fic in my free time, one where the parents of the destiny trio reunite with their kids and meet their friends and surrogate family! While working on it I decided to take the time to draw how I view them when I write them along with little headcanons which I’ll put under the read more along with a link to the fic! (The parents from left to right are Kumo and Taiyō, Sora’s parents, Sango, Kairi’s adopted father though I haven’t drawn his wife, and Pāru, Riku’s mother!)

Each of the parents designs incorporates some piece of the main trios outfit colours, Kumo’s being kh1 Sora and Taiyō with kh2 Sora colours. Sango’s is more subtle with a simple pink sweater for more of kh2 Kairi and Pāru’s is much more obvious with kh1 riku’s colours. I’ve included various other headcanons that will appear in my fic, one such being that Pāru’s heart earring is one half, with Riku holding the other half which he wears in the story! Another is Sango’s necklace being made by Kairi as a small child, there are several more but I’m leaving those to be read!

Kingdom Hearts OCs Alert !

Just wanted to put it there for funsies ; in the KhUX app, you have 6 slots, so I wanted to let my imagination run wild. For each desing, I went with something that was pleasing to look at (at least for me) and gave each a Keyblade that reflect them but also that did NOT appear in the Keyblade War to give them a bit more uniqueness.

Fulgur from Anguis. I wanted to keep some name conventions that are in the saga so, as you guessed it, his name means thunder in Latin. Not gonna lie, I was heavily inspired by Ramses from the Prince of Egypt.

Kinda on the nose with this one but hey, why not another floral based name for a neighbor of Strelitzia, and she was the perfect excuse to replicate the style and physique of one of the first OC I came accross.

Ethel is probably my biggest "crack fantaisy" 'cause not only is she my type but I also created her to reference the Cinderella movie with Whitney Houston. Since I didn't want her to be named Stella 'cause it was too obvious, I gave her a name that is based on the greek godess of the stars Astrée.

My original personal Keykid that I had when the game was still playable and yes, I was Ursus because Aced is the best and the Back Cover Movie only proves my point further. That aside, I wanted to give him an old sounding european name like Lauriam and Elrena and so named him Wilhelm. But everyone calls him Billy.

And here is Théa, an hommage to a close someone. Like the Norse Gods name in Dark Road and like Ethel, Théa's name is based off a greek godess, in this case Athena.

What about the sixth slot you may ask ? Well, call me purist or crazy but I kept it for the original main character...

Player ! From Unicornis ! Yes, I wanted to keep the closest answer we had for a "canon" design and replicated the look he has in Xehanort's dream in the very begining of Dark Road.

I don't have much of backstories for these Keykids, except maybe two or three "Cracks" of mine, but maybe one day I'll go in more detail.

TODAY IS THE DAY I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!!! The day of my favorite couple I have created of all time.

To celebrate, I made a station of awakening for them (This was NOT my idea by any means. I asked @tambermizukiart ahead of time on the original post and I got the go-ahead. Her idea and it was all inspired by hers with Leamber. PLEASE GO CHECK HERS OUT. THAT'S AN ORDER. IT'S BEAUTIFUL)

Okay, finally feeling better so it's OC Week time!

Prompt 1: Introduction.

From left to right: Zorya, Yoru and then Taiyo. These three are some of many characters in my Kingdom Hearts fic (I'll post it all on Ao3 one day I promise), but these three in particular start off this little serious I'm writing and have a vital connection to the overall main plot and themes. Each of these characters are near and deer to my heart, but I also don't want to give tooo much away (also I'm a bit lazy), so let me just to a brief introduction of these main three.

Zorya: A mysterious girl who seems to be after something; wonderful or terrible, that is yet to be seen. She's stubborn, rude and has a temper to match it, yet those who she allows to come close enough may very well find a soft and kind centre to the seemingly rough and rowdy child. Her eyes also seem to shine with a mysterious glow, though none can tell if this is merely a trick of the light or an indicator of something magical or even inhuman.

Yoru: A gentle soul whose dislike of fighting may sometimes make it hard to pick any particular side. At first, he only really wanted to find his loved ones and bring them all back home, yet, the worlds beyond his own stirs his curiosity. Shocked to discover his home had been "swallowed by darkness", Yoru joins forces with two others close to his own age in search of both answers and a way back home. All the while, he is plagued by the strangest of dreams, yet... he can never seem to recall them upon waking.

Taiyo: A researcher from a distant world. While he does pride himself in the teachings of light; a philosophy that deems light as the superior to darkness, he finds himself wishing for more. Taiyo is in search of one thing: Ansem's Reports. As to why he wants these volumes of knowledge, one could only assume it's due to his curiosity as a researcher, yet who could really say?
