realized the weird pain and discomfort I've been in is most likely a UTI, but between my high pain tolerance and dissociating from full body pain in general I tend to not notice what's actually going on

Currently filling out the family vouchers for in case one of my relatives ever needs a kidney. I actually couldn’t donate a kidney to my mother, so it’s nice to know she’d get priority if she ever did need one. I’m also checking with my friends in case any of them are at risk of kidney disease.

It kind of saddens me that vouchers are even a thing. Like, it’s a waitlist, so you can’t “jump the line” without someone else having to wait longer. And the average wait time is six years in the USA. I understand why the vouchers are there - so that people like me are less afraid of “What if I or a loved one need that kidney later?” and will choose to donate.

I guess it’s just more proof that more awareness work is needed. If just 1 in 3000 people donated, the waitlist would vanish.

I made plans with kindeyed boy last night when I was drunk to go on a walk after work today with his dog and I am now tiny and grumpy and so not into moving, little me just wants chicken nuggets and nap time in that order

I’ve never gotten a tattoo. It’s the “sticker choice” problem - what if I change my mind later? But I think I’d like some kind of tattoo to commemorate the kidney donation. Maybe decorating the surgery scars...or maybe in a more visible spot, like the upper arm.

As for the design, I’d like something simple and funny. Something people wouldn’t be afraid to ask about, like a kidney bean, “Have you seen my bean?” or “Some parts may be missing.”
