Nine Goblins by T. Kingfisher My rating: 5 of 5 stars In a world where goblins have been at war humans and elves for as long as the current soldiers can remember, Nessilka tries to keep part of her squad alive when they are transported behind enemy lines in a freak accident. Sings to Trees is not your typical elf, who prefers to tend to his part of the woods and all animals within. Even that one goblin that has ended up hitting his head on a rock. I really loved the two main characters of this book. They are both very level-headed and just trying to make the best of their circumstances. When they finally meet, it is as if they have finally found a kindred spirit. Even if there is somewhat of a language barrier. The plot was very interesting. Even though it dealt with war, it felt like a low stakes, cozy fantasy, until the novella suddenly took a very dark turn as the plot developed. I loved the worldbuilding. Without too much exposition, T. Kingfisher manages to paint a rich world and give us a clear understanding of the how and why the goblins are at war. Furthermore, T. Kingfisher has a light, humorous writing style, a bit tongue-in-cheek if you ask me. It is definitely up there for me with Terry Pratchett's style in the Discworld books. I love to read books with this sort of style as a palate cleanser. All in all, a fast and fun read! View all my reviews

My bkdk fic Recs!

The Way You Used to Do (complete) by @edema--ruh hands down the best bkdk slow burn angst fic ever. It’s well known in the bkdk community and it’s so good! It’s very angsty and very long, but when I say it’s worth it, it’s worth it. No joke I’ve seriously considered learning book-binding just so I can print this out to read like a book. It’s centered around Katsuki mainly. This is a very long fic but seriously it’s worth it! I’ve read it twice!

A Study in Kacchan (ongoing) by @dekusneakers This is such a wonderful slice of life, fluffy fic! Following Izuku and Katsuki navigate their new relationship is such a nice and cute thing!

a Spider-Man au fic that is so easy to get invested in! It’s a great read!

Honestly, any fic by edema is worth your time- if you want angst, she’s got angst and then some. This one doesn’t exactly have a happy ending tho :(

a fluff and smut fic that I just adore- great writing!

Afterglow (ongoing) by fangirl_on_fire

This fic follows Izuku and Katsuki as they navigate their new relationship, with fluff, angst, and even a bit of (soft and emotional) smut.

Legacy of the Moon (ongoing) by @sailormew4

a nice Sailor Moon yet still canon-compliant AU!! Not much to say except it’s so good so far! And yes, Katsuki is Usagi ;)

Memory Trace (complete) by @cinnabea and Wildmage

i Just read this recently! It’s a nice suspenseful thriller in which Izuku is on trial for murder and it’s up to Katsuki to prove he’s innocent.

I guess these are a good place to start as any, so yeah, let me know how it goes!! 🧡💚

Waschtag

Meinen Wäschewaschtag musste ich heute verschieben, da unsere Nachbarn heute ihre Gartenabfälle verbrannt haben. Das Atmen war heute trotz eingeschalteter Deckenventilatoren mühsam.

Dafür wurden wir am Abend mit einem super schönen Sonnenuntergang und einem leckeren Steak vom Kingfisch im 61 West am Grand Anse Beach entschädigt.
