happy sunday :)

this week i:

used duolingo and drops every single day

kept my position in the diamond league on duolingo

started using clozemaster for langauge learning

continued learning sardu

kept my streak on kinnu

kept up with my guitar lessons

got a bunch of cleaning done

im trying to get into a "tidy room tidy mind" mindset before my masters course starts next week (😬😬😬) so thats been helpful!! i need to sort of the rest of my timetable and my train tickets for this semester next week and maybe i'll feel a bit more prepped lol

Mississippi Masala: Viewing Response

In her film, Mississippi Masala, Mira Nair explores Afro-Asian connections and relationships (both platonic and romantic) through the love story of Mina and Demetrius in rural Mississippi. Mina is expected to marry within her community, and as a result, her parents (Jay and Kinnu) and the greater Indian community disapproves of their love. In her essay, “Afro-Asian Intimacies and the Politics and Aesthetics of Cross-Racial Struggle”, Vina Reddy explores the impact of history and ideas of a cross-race alliance through the relationship between Jay and his childhood friend Okelo. She explores how their relationship frames the narrative as a whole, both figuratively and literally, as the opening and closing scenes focus on this relationship. This cross racial solidarity does not extend to his daughter initially. The last scene in the movie shows Jay going home to Uganda, the country that forced him to relocate in the first place, and we watch as a young Ugandan boy touches his face. Although Jay is able to reconnect with the culture and people that he grew up with, he knows it is not his home anymore.

CM condoles martyrdom of Pawan Kumar

Shimla 28th February, 2023 Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has condoled the martyrdom of sepoy Pawan Kumar of 55 RR (Grenadiers), hailing from Pithvi village of Kinnu Panchyat, Rampur Bushahr of Shimla district, who sacrificed his life in an ambush with the terrorist at Avantipora on the outskirts of Srinagar. He was 28 years of age. The Chief Minister in his condolence message said that we will always remember him for the supreme sacrifice and his outstanding service to the nation. pretty rough week tbh i was prepping for surgery then had it on thursday and i feel soooo awful lol like the whole side of my face and ear is numb and in pain and my taste buds are broken for the next few months :(( not happy

किन्नू संतरा की उन्नत खेती एवं उत्पादन तकनीक

किन्नू संतरा मुख्यतः पंजाब, हरियाणा व राजस्थान के गंगानगर, हनुमानगढ़ जिले में उगाया जाता है। वहां की रेतीली मिट्टी व नहरी पानी इसकी खेती के लिए बहुत ही उपयुक्त है। अब किन्नू संतरे (orange farming) की खेती राजस्थान के मेवाड़ क्षेत्र में पथरीली जमीन पर भी लहलहा रही है। कृषि विज्ञान केंद्र चित्तौड़गढ़ के फार्म पर वर्ष 2008 में पथरीली जमीन पर किन्नू के पौधे लगाए गए। इन पर किन्नू की बंपर फसल आ रही है।
