Everything you once saw, the brightest of grass and the crops ripe and perfect, and the animals in the barns chirping of happiness— it was all gone. once a happy place you roamed in the summer as a kid was now a abandoned filthy place, old bards with holes and damaged walls. Nothing was what it used to be, the grass was as tall as small trees and it was going to take a lot of lovin.
But if your granddad taught you one thing is that; working for a better future would make everything you did it worth it.
And that’s exactly why you are here, to make your future. Everything in your life was about becoming a farmer, like your grandfather. and like him, you believed hybrids deserved to be in a safe and open land to roam, not such in some metal factory and enclosed to live their life.
“Come join the number one hybrid farm in Japan, The League.” the tv rung in your ears back at the college room, the place had been taking over everything and running all the local and good places out. at one point the only place you probably could work at was The League, since they seemed to be everywhere. “New locations, New Areas, And New Pay. Call the number on your screen for more information.” you had heard the commercial so many times you rolled your eyes everytime.
Never did you believe they would come out here, and be the competition.
Honestly, the first day your body was drained easily from all the work. The labor wasn’t exactly what you were expecting to start off with, moving the rooks and weeding. But you had supplies to start off with thankfully, the money he left you was so much, and ready for a new purpose. But the only thing that was helping you in all of this, your holy grail was a local store owner. Arthur, who happened to be your grandfathers best friend.
slapping the metal truck with the gloved hand, the old man smiled and stepped down from the back of the moving truck. you whipped off the sweat from your skin and catch your breath as the unpacked heavy boxes placed besides you and man.
“The old man used to buy twice as much as this and unload it all him, then complain when his back hurt afterwards. Lucky, he had me to talk some since into him.” the white haired man spoke breathlessly. you didn’t want him to have to help, seeing his age but he was in better shape then you by the looks of things. “Old bat was stubborn, you got that in you kid?”
taking a deep breath you arose from the bend down position you were in and look at the man, smiling a bit you commented back. “Used to give granddad a run for his money, I think I have it in me.” you were earned with a deep chuckle and a small one from yourself. starting back up again you closed the doors and gave the man who drove the truck the okay and he drove away.
the next day was worse then the first, your body was sore and tired, you wore sunscreen all over your body to protect you from the heat damage and the illnesses you could catch. unpacking all the equipment, getting them put together, and make sure the starter crops are taken care of. you took many breaks. and Arthur was the greatest help you could ask for.
you heard the story of how he met your granddad many times before, but you didn’t mind hearing it from his side. Arthur had moved from the United States to start his business with his family, and your grandfather was just started out in town. they were younger and bonded right away, and there for marriages, children and grandchildren. knowing he wasn’t as alone when you left was comforting in a away but you knew the full story. just before your tenth birthday you were moved away from the small town with your parents and left the farm behind.
“He talked about you every day.” The words perked up your ears. You looked at Arthur as he continued to work on a huge fan.
“Everything that happened in your life, he would tell me. What happened at middle school sport events, to dances and even show pictures of the dresses you wore. And man, when you went to college for Hybrid Education he was bursting with energy again.” It’s been a long time since he was able to leave the cabin. You knew that, but knowing still punched you in the guts.
“Was he proud?” asking was a waste of time.
“Proud as hell, there should be no doubt about it. His pride and joy was you, more then anything he did here, and now you have a legacy to continue.” smiling you continue to work to hold yourself from the weight building up in your chest. you missed him so much.
Each day there was something new to fix and call in, you knew granddad was rich from the bank account he left you. but boy, it sure was a lot of money. and now, you finally had a starting point. you had scheduled a barn repair on the electrical and building. the crops were set up along with the sprinklers and scare crows, even cleaned out the well…but not without getting algae all over you.
Smalltowns in the country side where the best, everyone in the community was helpful towards one other. And since The League had a location down the road, the people really came together. Businesses were losing in hybrid projects and animals, but the crops were the same. But this met more hybrids lost there homes, and had to be relocated elsewhere else or to The League…You hated it.
A big wooden sign at one of the joint shop centers made you smile and turn into the lot. today was the weekly event, selling of many things of local produces. you remember coming here as a kid and always getting blueberry jam from the market lady. and just like then, it was crowded. and with a lot of stalls and moving trucks. Arthur had told you they still had them and that you should check it out. of course you wouldn’t miss this for anything.
you shut the truck door and fixed your clothes before started the walk around. everyone was selling amazing things at their booths. the first table you saw was one cover in homemade soap bars and honey products. a sweet older couple ran that shop. some stalls were for hybrids for sale but you didn’t have room for them, at least until the barns are rebuilt. but milk, crops and seeds where your thing anyway to look at.
“how much for this?” the only person behind the table was a young girl who looked angry and ready to chew off your head, it was laughable. she was going to be hard to haggle, but a amazing work ethic. “I don’t know you, so twenty bucks.” your eyes widen and look down at the honey in your hand. it was a very small jar…and not worth it, I mean for the bigger bottles sure.
“Hmm, how about ten?” the small girl glared at your words and huffed. she shook her head in annoyance and pointed to the tag, “you trying to get out of paying hard working people lady? This is the best honey you’ll find in the whole country! Haggling is only for people I know,” her finger pointed at you and you back up a little at her shouting voice. “And you ain’t it!”
signing you pull out a twenty and handed it to her, she smiles so kindly you forget about the anger she had. placing it in your cloth bag you continue walking down the path, smiling and looking around. not much you could buy yet, though you did buy from groceries and loaded the up in the bed of the truck.
“well if it ain’t the talk of the town,” a sweet woman’s voice called out loudly. you turn your gaze and see a almost forgotten face, but one that filled you with joy and nostalgia. “Aunty Hoshiko.” You scream and rush over, the older woman comes out form her booth and takes you into her arms. only now did you realize the sweet small of jam and the jar’s decorated like they used to be, but this area was bigger and a extra tent was behind it.
“I couldn’t believe you moved back here after moving to the city, heard you got into a good college.” She smiled from cheek to cheek while pulling away. “Why come back here?” it was flattering how much she thought of you, but you couldn’t have stayed away from this place for much longer.
“Well, grandpa left me the farm and I needed to start my new life. Can’t get much better then a already laid for land, and with great soil.” she hummed but her eyes dropped a little and her smile became different. “I’m so sorry, he was a good man. you tell me if you need any help okay? Your granddad helped us a lot, so many people in town will be willing to do help too.”
“I’ll keep that in mind,” you smile and take a peek at the table, “mind if I look?” she is excited to show you all the new flavors and jars she has, letting you smell each one. she even offers you a discount for family.
you had a few jams picked out but you keep looking at everything, knowing you’ll come home with more. then there was a sign and paperwork around on a tables end.“Hybrid Rescues” is what you read and your hands reached for it immediately. seeing your interested, Hoshiko started to talk.
“The League has been running out businesses, hybrids are either purchased or…end up alone and abandoned. My friend runs a rescue company, we help her out here trying to give some of them a home.” you clinch the paper in your hand and want both more then to go punch the owners of the company. No hybrid deserves to be left alone.
“I usually have a few here with me, but today only one is for sale. He’s very special. And a house animal, or helper if you will since I know you don’t have much room for more yet.” the next step was to always get hybrids, but you weren’t sure if today was the best idea today…
“Oh!” that wasn’t your choice since she pulled your arm and lend you into the tent where only one hybrids sat. you struggled to look away from the hybrid laying in the floor.
He was huge. he looked peaceful tho, curled up on a bed and resting peacefully. he had long and pointed ears, a middle tail that curled. “he’s a special breed, no idea why they didn’t keep him since he must have cost a fortune.” there was a small scar on his arm and you hated to see, it looked like cattle whip strokes.
“tenya,” she called out quietly to wake the dog. you really didn’t know if you should get a hybrid, but seeing him already you knew you couldn’t say no. his furry ears twitched and his body rolled over ready to see what was happening. he was fast, and he was built. a pure breed for herding and hard labor. “I have someone here who needs a dog to help around the farm.” she patted you on the back and you got shy for some reason.
His tail was sticking up, his eyes glancing over and panicked. he was on high alert. “Hey buddy, my names y/n.” You smile softly. You don’t want to move until he gives you a sign. his nose sniffs into the air for a moment and his body freezes, you both stop for a minute too.
until the thumping of his tail was heard and he jumped up to greet you properly. you are taken aback and he gets excited and starts to shout, you can’t help but to smile. “My names Tenya, I am apart of the Iida breed. I have experience in herding, working and defending territory. I have many skills,” his hands reaches for hers and stuffs it into his nose to get a proper smell.
“Hello to you too,” you giggle. having some help now would be good, and a herding dog would the best thing.
“Tell me iida, are you okay with maybe coming home with me?” if it was only a dog he would for sure be jumping on you from how happy he seems to be.
Iida didn’t want you to leave to get things needed, saying it was his job to be with you now but you need to find food and things before leaving. he whined forever until he saw you again.
you came back to get him…like you said you would. he loved you, loved you so much. the kindest human he’s met.
Riding back to the farm was a journey. he was talking every second about all the things he could do, from each animal, hybrid or not. boy, was so happy to be by your side. and he was asking about you too. why you picked him? what you wanted him to do.
your heart broke once you got back to the cabin.
you held the door open and called for him to come in, but he just stood on the porch looking at you almost guilty. “Hybrids aren’t aloud inside, I must protect you from out here.” he was already looking for a place to set up for the night. it was a miracle you didn’t start crying again.
“Well, whoever told you that was a idiot. Many dog hybrids are aloud inside, and it’s my house so my roles go.” you tap the door again. he was hesitant, and it took about ten minutes to get him inside. and you told him to stay put while you get the things from the car…then told him it was a order to get him to stay.
you placed the things on the floor and smiled, proud of yourself. “Okay, so I got a large mattress for you. We can place it anywhere you want, also got you special food, hybrids approved.” he looked at the mattress for a long minute. Iida couldn’t believe it was his, he hadn’t slept on one of them since he was little, and then at the market earlier. And this one was his, made for his height and weight for him to sleep…inside.
“Your bought this for me?” He asked while poking at the bed, it’s softness amazed him. once he accepted his reality his tail starts to swing like crazy and crawled over to you, and hugged you lovingly.
“I’ll be the best boy I promise. anything you need I will do, anything.” his grip tightened around your waist and pushed his head into your plush stomach. you patted his head and thanked him, and told him he deserved to be loved and cared for.
That night, he placed his bed in front of your bedroom door and stood watch in his bed. to protect you, his master…his.

🐈 with Kirishima please!!
Kirishima is one of the lucky ones who finds an affectionate kitten hybrid. You wake him with your purring as you nudge his thick bicep with your forehead.
"Mornin'," he can't stop the toothy smile as your tail tickles his stomach.
"Seems like you want my attention for something, girl." You huff and nuzzle your way under his arm until you're tucked against him, wanting your morning cuddles like clockwork.
"Silly kitty. I didn't forget." He mumbles as he kisses your hair, hugging you to his massive chest as his morning hard on rests against your ass.
But it could wait. For now he just wanted to spend time with his affectionately clingy cat girl.

You've never really had much to do with hybrids, existing in your own little bubble for a majority of your life. That comes to an end when your friend phones you for help and somehow you end up taking two hybrids off of her hands while they recuperate in the wake of an unfortunate incident. But when the time comes that they have to leave, will you really want them to go?

Recently, the boys have taken to accompanying you on your morning exercises.
The weather is getting cooler, and with it the days shorter, so you’re not particularly opposed. Well, you wouldn’t be anyway because you enjoy spending time with them and there is also no way in hell that you would miss the opportunity to see them work out.
(For scientific reasons, of course. Hybrids are built a little different, after all. You’re definitely not a pervert and any source saying otherwise constitutes defamation.)
You’re on your back, having sprawled on the cool grass around ten minutes ago in an attempt to catch your breath after a run. You might have bitten off more than you could chew by telling them they could set the pace, but you’d sooner stub your own toe than admit the difference in your fitness levels. Thankfully you’ve regained control of your lungs and are no longer heaving, and they appear none the wiser to your momentary health crisis. You are pleased to maintain even scraps of your dignity at this point.
“I like this park.” A voice muses from your left. You allow your head to roll slightly, eyes falling upon the stretched form of the canine hybrid beside you. A breeze rustles the snowy hair that brushes his right cheekbone. “Quiet. Peaceful. Also, quite pretty.”
You hum in agreement; you’re in a meadow-like area that you can reach by following the footpath for a kilometre or so. Trees loom tall on the outskirts, creating verdant walls of green that curl the small sanctuary into their embrace as warmth from the sun pools in the centre and glimmers off the dewy grass. Instead of speaking, you allow a moment for the reply from Izuku that you can feel coming. It enters the air like clockwork barely a second later.
“Isn’t it, Sho?” Izuku tilts his head back, the sun filtering through foliage to paint his skin in swathes of gold. “Plus, it’s nice seeing so many other hybrids come through here every so often.”
Shoto lets out a noise in agreement. In an odd moment of serendipity, a family of hybrids accompanied by a single human emerge from where the path disappears into the treeline in the distance. The child swinging between the two adult hybrids couldn’t be any more than five years old, and the second they lay eyes on the great expanse of grass woven with patches of clovers and wildflowers before them, a delighted peal of laughter rings in the air.
Before you can think twice, your eyes are moving to scan the expressions of your companions in curiosity. From what you recall, an intact family unit isn’t very common for hybrids, though Nejire told you once that it is becoming increasingly the norm. Hybrids from the initial generations, those born in a sterile lab, are now creating families and small communities of their own as the movement for their rights strengthens and gains more traction over time. It makes you happy to see it in action, though a part of you worries that the sight might bring up memories for your companions that aren’t particularly pleasant.
Then again, you have no idea about their backgrounds, really.
Thankfully, the shift in their expressions isn’t sad or melancholy. Rather they appear contemplative, bordering on nostalgic. Curiosity lingers in an unspoken question on the tip of your tongue, but you don’t dare to voice it.
It’s Shoto that volunteers to fill the silence first.
“I wonder if that kid gets lonely,” he muses. “It doesn’t look like they have any siblings.”
You blink, something about the way he says that sparking a new curiosity. “… You had siblings?”
He shrugs, a small smile curling at the corners of his lips. He glances at you and then Izuku from the corner of his eye. “Well, maybe not in the typical sense. We were often created in batches, so we definitely weren’t alone.”
“You have company, but in all you don’t get to spend much time with the other hybrids. The adoption process can start young sometimes,” Izuku supplies, shaking his head to dislodge a leaf clinging to his forest-hued curls. “Shoto and I actually ‘grew up’ together, in a way.”
The confusion must be evident on your face, because the rabbit hybrid laughs and reaches out to pinch your cheek. You frown but can’t be bothered to lift your arm and bat him away, and so he remains the unspoken victor.
“I guess you could call it that.” Shoto snorts, reaching up with both arms to stretch. The movement lifts the edge of his shirt to reveal smooth honey-toned skin and you fight for your life to keep your eyes in a respectful location. “I think our labs ended up merging at some point and from then on we kind of got stuck together. Neither of us were ever officially adopted.”
That takes you by surprise, actually. Ignoring how visually stunning they are, both hybrids are pleasant and sweet, sincere in everything they do, and a pleasure to be around. You can safely say the addition of them into your life and routine has been a blessing. So when you take in his words, your brain can’t quite comprehend the idea of someone not wanting them.
A part of your feels bad for them – you know it isn’t the case for all hybrids, but for some of them the act of ‘adoption’ means a lot – but at the same time, you’re unsure whether you would have ever ended up meeting them if they had been adopted earlier in their lives.
It feels selfish, but… deep down, you’re a little glad that you were able to know them as a result of it.
Shoto lowers his arms and twists to face you a little more, eyes surveying your supine form. You have a feeling that he is looking for the best place to curl up and your suspicions are confirmed when he zeroes in on your abdomen and turns back around so he can recline with his head resting on the soft swell of your stomach. You don’t even bother trying not to blush. You’ll just blame the heat of the sun if you need to. Or even the exercise. Plenty of excuses.
“It’s good to see so many kids around,” Izuku hums, blowing some hair out of his face and allowing his eyes to flutter closed after. It’s a slight redirection of the current topic, but you don’t particularly mind. “There’s more than I thought there would be, considering the current ratio.”
This piques your interest further, tickling something familiar in the back of your mind you’d heard once upon a time. “The current ratio…?”
“Of male to female hybrids,” Shoto supplies helpfully in his soft, leisurely tone, turning his head and nuzzling into your abdomen just below your ribs. You have to physically hold down the responding shudder that wants to roll over your body. “It’s pretty disproportionate, currently. Something like one female hybrid for every two –- or is it three? -– male hybrids.” “Oh shit,” you mutter, the words leaving you before you can think to censor yourself. “Tough odds.”
Shoto snorts, and Izuku looks to be fighting a grin. Surprisingly, it is the hybrid currently taking up real estate on your stomach that continues.
“It might look like that,” Shoto hums, his head tilting just enough for his mismatched eyes to trail and lock onto your own. The slightest curl plays around the corner of his mouth. “But we’re pretty adaptive, you know. Most hybrids tend toward polyandry.”
Oh. Oh. Nejire never told you that.
Shoto’s eyes, clear and glimmering in the morning sunlight, track every minute movement and change in your face. His ears flick ever so slightly, no doubt catching the slight uptick in your heartbeat as well as the warmth gathering in your face.
You have to wet your lips in order for your question to greet the air. “Why, um-- is there a reason behind the ratio?”
Izuku hums a pleasant noise, like he’s been quizzed on something that he knows the answer to.
“Men – or in this case, male hybrids – are easier to clone and create than women. Something about having two X chromosomes makes it a little more complicated, if I remember correctly.” Izuku tilts his head, eyes glazing as he falls deeper into his thoughts. “That’s probably why we all ended up having the kind of instincts that we did. Being excessively territorial is detrimental to the population as a whole when one gender greatly outnumbers the other.”
“Plus, more chances for females to conceive when there are multiple--”
“RIGHT, yeah, there’s also that.” Izuku lets out a loud, embarrassed laugh, cutting the canine hybrid off before he can continue. For his benefit, you continue to ignore the heat making itself known on your face and fight to swallow your own amused chortle. You did think it had been a little too long since the last time Shoto said something outrageous with the most unbothered face. The rabbit hybrid continues, almost like he can’t help himself.
“Even so, the bond that a, um… mated pair share is super important. Hybrids have a tendency to bond deeply in general, but I suppose it is doubly so for males. Definitely more matriarchal in nature, hybrid communities.”
Bonds? Mated pairs? You feel kind of faint as your brain works to reconcile all the information you’ve received in the last five minutes. “Huh… I see.”
Izuku suddenly looks oddly restless, almost… nervous .Evidently taking a page out of Shoto’s book, he turns and dives to bury his face in your side, eliciting a ticklish yelp from you as he does so. He ends up pulling on a lock of Shoto’s hair that had fallen over your side by accident, and the hybrid lets loose an unimpressed, low rumble. Ignoring the noise, Izuku takes a few deep breaths against your side, digging his nose into your shirt.
Sincerely, you don’t think you’re going to be able to survive this. You consider sending a prayer heavenward.
As if things weren’t already embarrassing enough for you, your stomach chooses this exact moment to let out a forlorn rumble.
Shoto snorts softly, lifting off of you and rolling to a stand with such grace, you’re genuinely envious for a moment.
“Probably best we head back and get some food in our bellies.”
He doesn’t need to tell you twice.
---------
This is a losing battle.
Granted, it’s not like you’re really fighting it at all anymore (arguably didn’t even really fight it to begin with), but still. It feels like everything is somehow snowballing, in a way that you’re not particularly against despite your better judgement.
Somehow, your two housemates have gotten clingier. They stick to you like shadows, scenting you in an almost possessive manner whenever they get the chance and more than a few times you’ve caught them sniffing you for a whiff of your own scent when they think you’re too occupied to notice.
It’s doing a number on your already frayed self-control.
The brief but very informative conversation the three of you had in the park almost a week ago has helped alleviate some of the guilt you carried for being attracted to both of them at the same time, and also planted some ideas in your head that you haven’t been able to pry out despite your best efforts.
Currently, your dilemma comes from the fact that not only are you attracted to them both, but you like them both.
It’s still budding, not at a catastrophic level as of yet, and technically speaking you would be able to be with them physically without spiralling when they eventually leave. Probably. Actually, you’re torn between not wanting to do anything to save yourself the pain in the long run, and doing something so that you can treasure and make the most of the time you currently have together.
You’d probably regret it if they ended up leaving without you addressing whatever this is between you. However, you also know yourself enough to know you’re too sappy to be able to part with them seamlessly if you did act on it.
This is torture. You almost wish they’d just make the decision for you.
Apart from those differences, the routine the three of you remains mostly unchanged. Unfortunately, that leaves plenty of opportunity for you to overthink and dwell as you complete your bedtime routine. You almost reach for a cheeky drink just so you might put an end to the thoughts and go to bed in peace. Somehow, you manage to imitate meditation enough that you eventually drift off without the need for a nightcap.
Something rouses you from sleep earlier than anticipated, though. The soft creak of your door has you blinking awake, eyes less bleary than anticipated.
It’s pitch black at first, but your eyes quickly adjust enough to see as two figures slink into the room and over to your bed. You feel the mattress dip with their weight as they climb atop, a soft rumble reaching your ears that you know to be coming from a certain canine hybrid.
“What is it?” you ask, wiping your eyes in an attempt to clear any remaining sleep. It’s harder to focus on their forms than you expect. “Is everything okay?”
“Yona.”
It’s a throaty whine that answers your question, timbre no doubt belonging to Izuku. The slimmer of the two slips closer, a hand coming to grasp the one you’d reached out without realising. Your heart stutters in your chest, breath catching in your throat. The smell of pine and jasmine twine together and brush your senses. Of course you’ve smelt whatever cologne your two hybrid roommates wear before, but never so strongly. It’s making butterflies come to life in the pit of your belly.
“What is it?” you ask again, sitting up a little more. Izuku brings your hand to his cheek, nuzzling into your palm. Your fingertips brush his fluffy curls and you find yourself winding them into the locks without a second thought.
While Izuku seems to be sitting back on his haunches for the moment, Shoto has no qualms about approaching further, his large hand brushing against the skin of your shoulder, revealed by sheets that fell when you rose earlier, before trailing down your arm and then back up. His palm settles against your neck, scorchingly hot, and the length of his fingers wrap around your nape. Your heart kicks up again, an excited, frantic patter.
Izuku’s lips press against your palm, searing affection into your flesh. You can hardly keep track of what is happening, attention torn from one to the other in rapid succession.
A soft whine escapes from Shoto this time, and he leans forward to nuzzle his face into your neck, dragging his nose along the line of your jaw. It tickles, and sends a shiver down the length of your spine.
“Nothing’s wrong,” he murmurs, mouth hot against your neck as his lips shape the words. You feel his ears flick and catch against your hair. You want to lift a hand and touch him, but for some reason your body refuses to obey. “Nothing wrong, just need you.”
You feel like your heart has stopped completely in your chest, a breathless moment passing before it returns to its chaotic gallop. You barely have the presence of mind to force out, “What…?”
The hybrid’s lips begin to press in a heated trail down your neck and across your collarbone, ignoring your murmur completely. His free arm slips around your side and behind you, pulling you close quick enough that a soft noise of surprise escapes you. Heat is beginning to set your veins alight, blood turning to magma. Your thighs clench as Shoto’s teeth scrape against your clavicle before he sucks the flesh into his mouth.
Oh my god.
Having moved you closer to the centre of the bed with his manoeuvre, there is now room for Izuku to sidle up against your other side, and he happily takes the opportunity. Your hand is dropped for only a moment before he picks it up again from his new angle, returning it to where it was. He then leans forward, burying his nose into your hair and letting out a contented groan – something he’d done earlier in the day when the three of you had been cuddling on the couch. It had made butterflies burst into your stomach then, but now it makes your body thrum in anticipation.
“You smell so good, Yona, you’re so lovely,” Izuku murmurs, the low cadence of his voice eliciting another shiver across your shoulders. “We want you, need you… don’t you want us too?”
The words leap from your throat, unbidden. “Of course I do.”
A pleased, throaty groan slips from Shoto as his mouth moves lower, towards the neckline of the singlet you’d worn to bed. You weren’t sure what to expect, but it still takes you by surprise when he drags his lips over the material, following the swell of your breast until he comes across your peak, straining against the material. He takes it into the wet heat of his mouth, and you can’t help but gasp at the sensations that reach you through the damp material of your shirt. Arousal shoots straight to your core.
Again, you will your hand to lift and tangle in his hair, but the limb remains by your side. You barely have time to feel the resulting confusion and frustration before Izuku’s free hand is trailing along your side, nails dragging along the skin of your hips and tracing the line of your waistband. The ache beginning to make itself known between your legs is suddenly all you can think about, and this time when you will your hips to shift, rocking up against his hand, they listen.
Izuku inhales softly, sounding pleased at your reaction. You feel like you’re going a little bit insane.
“Yeah? You want us? Want us to touch you, like this?”
Words catch in your throat and so you settle for an emphatic nod, eager for the touching to continue – especially if it meant Shoto was going to keep doing those things with his mouth. As though summoned by the thought, he clamps his teeth around your nipple in a light bite, sending shocks of pleasure over your skin. A moan tumbles from your throat, thighs squeezing in a sad attempt at friction.
You need more. You need more, but your stupid limbs won’t listen to you, and Izuku’s hand is going everywhere but where you need and want it most.
“Izuku,” you whine, the sound bordering on pathetic. You can hardly think amongst the drowsy haze of pleasure fogging your mind. “Please…”
Please touch me, you want to say. Your fingers twitch with the urge to grasp his hand and move it to your core, but they remain woefully unresponsive. Instead of your desired destination, his hand lifts to pinch and tug your neglected nipple softly. He seems to revel in the noises the actions elicit.
Shoto releases your abused nipple with a soft noise, leaning up to nip and lick under your ear. The sweet scent of jasmine threatens to swallow you whole.
“Tell us what you want, lovely,” he murmurs, voice thick and catching in his throat. His teeth scrape your neck and you tilt your head back, wrenching your eyes closed as Izuku times it with a firm pinch.
A rush of different desires overtake you at once, so many you can hardly choose only one to voice. You strain to lift your arm and cup his cheek, willing it desperately to move. “I-”
Your arm jerks, breaking free of its invisible bonds, and your eyes snap open. The room is quiet, save for your panting breaths, and you are entirely under the covers. A cursory glance around the room once your eyes adjust reveals you are, in fact, alone. Your bedroom door is closed, just as you’d left it before going to bed.
It takes a moment for you to be awake enough that realisation comes crashing through you. You just had a wet dream about your housemates.
…. You’re so fucked.

You had finally calmed down from your anxiety attack, the tears long gone but the gentle hiccups that resulted from a hard cry were still jolting your body as you tried to take in steadier breaths. Bakugo was sitting with his eyes closed, breaths coming in a steady rhythm but his hand against your back, fingers rubbing small, gentle circles let you know he was still awake. You couldn’t quantify how much time had passed since the whole incident started, the ache from the release of the rubber bands where burning rings of skin was left told you it’d been long enough for your body to catch up with itself.
You were exhausted.
You huffed out a quick breath of air, and fell forward on Bakugo’s chest, resting on your chin to look up at him and nose at his throat again. Bakugo cracked one eye open with a quirk of his brow and looked down at you.
“What’cha think you’re snoofin’ at, Pup?” Bakugo grumbled with no malice in his tone.
“Ah-!” His sudden awareness of you startled you, a sheepish smile appearing on your face. “Y-you smell good, wanted to smell it again.”
“Mm, still smell Red and TetsuTetsu on me, hm?” Bakugo mused.
“No,” when you shook your head, still resting against him, your cold nose dragged against his skin, and it sent a shudder through his body. “S’different than them, something better.”
Unnoticed by everyone else, but Bakugo could feel the tips of his ears and the back of his neck heat up at your revelation that it was purely him that you were finding pleasant. Bakugo shifted in the seat, legs and ass sore from sitting for so long in one position, and you bounced up on him as he did so – a tiny yelp-like giggle escaping you which he broke a crooked, fanged grin at you. Your guys’ time together finally being interrupted by someone behind you clearing their throat. You whipped your head back, nearly upside down which caused your newly-floppy ears to stand up straight due to the backward angle of your head – this caused everyone to smile at the silly display.
“Puppy,” the Director had come forward, just shy of a foot away from the pair as she smiled fondly down at you, letting your head rest in her hands as she raised them to cradle your head, her eyes darting up to meet Bakugo’s quickly as he simply nodded. “I think it's time for us to let Mr. Bakugo go home for today, and we need to get you to the facility Doctor to check on your ears – they have to be hurting you, yes?”
“Mmm... yes, but-” you shifted your eyes, looking back at Bakugo with a conflicted expression. “You don’t want to stay longer?”
“’Course I do, Pup,” Bakugo said, reaching up to gently pat your cheek. “But it’s been a long day for everyone, and I think getting some rest would be good for us, too, don’t you think?” You just nodded with a sigh, and let Bakugo lift you up in his arms, carrying you like a toddler with your arms around his neck as he followed the Director into a different building in the facility where one of the many highly trained hybrid doctors would be able to check you over. Bakugo noted the way your ears seemed to flatten a little further against your head as he said a quick goodbye, telling you he’d see you again soon and left the room. Hana had excused herself to walk Bakugo out, the Director giving her a nod as she followed the blonde Pro. The Director finally turned to you, sitting with legs swinging atop an exam bed awaiting a doctor to come and see you.
“Puppy?” The Director asked, and your response was a small hum as you glanced up at her, shoulders drooped and demeanor a bit more down. “You like Mr. Bakugo, don’t you?” The Director had her answer in the way your cheeks tinged pink and your ears and whole body seemed to perk up at the idea, fluffy tail swishing behind you as it lazily thumped in time with your thoughts.
“I do,” you finally said out loud, not looking up to meet her gaze.
“Would you ever want to be adopted out again?” She pressed further and you drooped again, clearly thinking hard about the implication of what that meant for you. “Would you want Mr. Bakugo to adopt you?” Your eyes widened but you didn’t say anything, didn’t move but you were soon betrayed again by your fluffy cloud of a tail, thumping wildly behind you at the idea.
“H-he wouldn’t want to adopt me,” you finally sighed, tail still technically wagging but clearly dejected. “I caused so much trouble, and I bit him-” you were startled as the Director cut you off.
“Puppy, what if I told you he had already put in an application for you?” You froze.
“For me?” You whispered, more to yourself. “He did?” Your mind began running through so many different scenarios – the most prevalent thought being why Bakugo would ever want a hybrid like you. You didn’t feel like you could offer him anything, felt like trouble only followed you wherever you went, and bringing it to Bakugo’s doorstep wasn’t something you wanted to do.
“What’s holding you back, Puppy?” The Director’s calm voice brought you out of the string of incessant, negative thoughts and you glanced up at her while nibbling down on your bottom lip.
“What if he decides I’m not good enough and sends me back?” Your voice was so tiny it was almost imperceptible.
“Puppy,” the Director had kneeled in front of you, meeting your pouty expression with a kind smile as she took your hands in her own. “Mr. Bakugo has been taking all the classes, and learning about you, and has come to the same decision over and over again – that he still wants to adopt you. I think he’s really hoping you’d consider it, too... there’s also a good support system in place with him, too, since you’d be able to see Mr. Kirishima and TetsuTetsu as well,” she finished, watching as your tail picked up at the mention of your silver-haired friend.
“Who’s Mr. Kirishima?” You finally asked, and the Director simply chuckled.
“Tall, red hair, he brought TetsuTetsu to visit a while back – do you remember?” Your eyes lit up as you nodded vigorously.
“Red! M’sorry I didn’t know the other name,” your sheepish grin was a welcome sight as the Director patted your shoulder. It wasn’t much of a wait after you finished speaking with the Director that one of the hybrid doctors – Dr. Sato – entered the room and began to examine your ears. He was careful with his handling of the newly exposed areas, dictating his findings to the Director as she sat in the far corner of the exam room. Dr. Sato took his time cleaning the area, stating that he wasn’t certain your fur would grow back, but the area that was nearly necrotic, and was caught just in time to be treated and you wouldn’t have to have any surgery to your ears which you were grateful for – slumping a little at the realization of what could’ve happened in you continuing to avoid your real ears. Dr. Sato prescribed some antibiotics to help with the minimal infection around the area and gave you a cream to spread on the hairless ring at the base of your ears to help with accelerating the healing of the area. You nodded along, promising to follow the treatment plan, and the Director chimed in that she would help in reminding you about taking the medication and doing your daily cleanings.
Dr. Sato and the Director both had continued having a conversation, while you were waiting to be released, your mind swimming with the fantasy of being adopted again.
Being adopted by Him.
Something about Bakugo drew you in, even with his terrifying stature and harsh demeanor; something about the blonde man simply made you feel the safest you had ever felt in your life that you could remember. He was friends with your friend, and his owner. He didn’t hurt you when you bit him, didn’t get angry or yell or throw you off. You caught the tail-end of the conversation between Dr. Sato and the Director, and as she was leaving the room to follow the Doctor with the expectation you would follow as well, you spoke up.
“I do,” the Director stopped at your sudden words. “I want to be adopted,” your body felt electrified with the uncertain future, but you knew at the very least you’d be around people you felt the safest with. “By him,” you clarified, “I’d like to accept his application.”
The Director took in your apprehensive demeanor, noting that it didn’t seem you were truly afraid of being adopted by Bakugo, just appeared to be nervous in general which she didn’t blame you for given your history. The smile spread across her face as she held out a hand for you to take, and you did as you jumped down from the exam table.
She was excited to make the call – her only dilemma was wondering if she should wait for morning to give the explosive hero the good news.
˗ˋˏ ♡ ˎˊ˗
Bakugo had finally arrived home, the events of the day and the high emotions left a heavy weight tied to his ankles, dragging him, and to his heart; his body on autopilot as he took off his gear from the day, leaving them scattered across the table and floor of his genkan – he stripped down to his pants and the black tank worn underneath his hero costume as he slipped into his slippers and shuffled to his bathroom. His mind was running a mile a minute, going over the day's events as he tried hard to fight off the exhaustion he was suddenly hit with. While Bakugo was always vigilant and expecting something to happen given his understanding of the world, he truly didn’t anticipate encountering a scumbag extra like the piece of trash who thought he could even come close to touching you today. Bakugo wanted to blast that son of a bitch sky high and then some, but when the officers had come for the man, and he noticed you, he simply couldn’t bring himself to fight when it looked like you needed him more.
Bakugo swallowed hard. His heart thumping wildly in his chest as he remembered how light you felt in his arms, how soft and warm you were against him – how easy it felt holding you and toting you around. His mind then switched to how terrified you looked when that rubber band snapped, how your instincts overrode everything else when you bit down to get out of his arms. Bakugo couldn’t help but wonder just what memory was triggered when that rubber band broke, when he held you tighter and you fought with an admirable strength to escape – wondering what you had to fight to escape in the past. He swallowed the hard lump that formed in his throat and just shook off the heavy feelings. He showered, he drank nighttime tea and quickly downed a spicy instant noodle just to have something in him before he dropped down into bed and closed his eyes. It wasn’t long before Bakugo’s thoughts stilled, and he finally fell asleep.
Bakugo awoke in a place he had never been before, or rather, it felt vaguely familiar, but he couldn’t place his finger on it. He sat up, propping himself up on his elbows on an uncovered mattress, filthy and creaky, with a spring jutting out into his forearm as he put pressure there. His face contorted in a disgusting scowl as he looked around the vaguely familiar room, the piles of trash and various half-broken boxes revealing equally trashy contents. Bakugo stood up, kicking around the room before settling himself by a dresser near the door, thumbing through the scattered papers with half-written nonsensical sentences in chicken scratch handwriting.
He couldn’t explain how, or why, but he knew he had to be somewhere important. Someone was waiting for him, and his feet took him down a dingy hallway, and out into the dusty expanse of a rundown warehouse yard. He could hear a hushed road of shouting, cheering and curses in the adjacent building and he walked over, treading carefully, not knowing who he would encounter there. When he pushed open the heavy metal door where the sound was coming from he was met with cheers and wide, yellow-toothed smiles and some missing more than half of their teeth before he was patted on the shoulder and led closer to the center of the warehouse where men and women of various scummy degrees were shouting and waving tickets, cursing at each other and drinking as their eyes all stayed toward the center.
“Thought you wouldn’t make it, man!” The man leading Bakugo shouted over the rest of the noise around them. “Fight’s already been set up, but you haven’t missed much, just the intros, bro, time to take your seat center stage man!” Bakugo just followed along as the grimy extra kept a grip on his bicep, leading him toward the center of the large room. Between the smell of smoke and liquor, body odor and dust Bakugo wanted to puke but he let himself get absorbed into the atmosphere, waiting to see what waited for him as he was led to a bench at the top center above an in-ground pit where Bakugo could see two incredibly large wolf hybrids chained up, just enough slack in the metal to allow the brutes to get attacks in on each other. What froze Bakugo’s blood the second he heard it, and then saw it, was the scared yip! As one of the hybrids decided to take his attention away from the hybrid opposite him and snap hungrily at a tiny hybrid chained to the wall.
It was you – his little Puppy.
Bakugo watched in rapt horror as the wolf hybrid caught your tail and bit down, a fresh, wet matting of blood ruining the soft look of your fur. Floppy little ears were pressed back against your head, nearly flat, as Bakugo took notice of the flood of tears welling up in your eyes and spilling over your cheeks. Bakugo wanted to shoot up, to jump down into the pit and knock out the two hybrids just to get to you – to tell you everything would be okay, that you’re safe with him. Bakugo soon learned, however, that his part in this play was one of control – being in control of this whole situation, being the one who put you in the pit.
The people around him cheered on as the wolf hybrids took turns attacking each other to near-death before turning their aggression on you, only barely being able to reach you just enough to mark you and get a taste of blood.
The fight was called not long after, Bakugo watching at a limp wolf hybrid was pulled away by a downcast man, apparently having lost the fight. The winning hybrid was in no better shape but could be led away by his chain with no additional support. You were shaking on the ground as the man who led Bakugo into this horror show earlier picked you up and threw you out of the pit, walking over to your collapsed form to grab the chain around your neck and drag you behind him with no care if you could keep up or were even capable of walking. Bakugo shot up after him, trying to get him to let you go but he just gave a dry laugh, saying you had to go be seen by the Boss.
The Boss – the mention of the name caused you to shrink further in on yourself, and Bakugo wasn’t sure how that was even possible with how small you already were making yourself. You were led back into the house where Bakugo had come from, being pulled toward a room he didn’t see earlier until you were thrown to the ground in front of a man dressed in all black. Slick black hair and even colder, lifeless black eyes regarded you and tsk’d as he lent down and tugged on one of your floppy little ears until you screamed.
“Didn’t I tell you to get this shit taken care of?” The man scowled, spitting in your face as you flinched away from him. “Floppy fuckin’ mutt ears, what kind of prize are you to offer up if you look like a piece of mixed breed trash, hah?” The man kicked forward, knocking you down onto your face where you stayed, too afraid to get up. Bakugo had been led to a couch just two feet away from this scene, where he watched the man from earlier strip you of the worn little dress you were covered by, hands immediately fighting for the fabric as you clawed at the man trying to take your cover away. You received a swift boot to the back of the head by the man who Bakugo recognized from earlier: the owner of the winning hybrid. Wondering what was going on for only a second longer before it all clicked – what the Boss had said, how he said it, why you were being stripped... Bakugo’s stomach turned as he watched the victor lead his wolf hybrid forward, the large brute leaning forward to sniff and lap at your exposed body before you were mounted. Bakugo found that the only movement he was capable of (that was his own in this dream body) was a tight grip of his hands. He could almost feel his palms heating up to explode as the grotesque scene in front of him unfolded, sparks burning into his fingers as they curled into his palms. Bakugo could nearly force the explosion he so desperately wanted to set off as he heard your crying turn to screams, his eyes deadly at the sight of the knot bullying its way into your body.
Bakugo awoke in a cold sweat to the sound of his phone vibrating on his bedside table. Sitting up as he coughed and choked on nothing, the recollection of his dream burned into his mind's eye as he tried to shake the residual hopelessness he felt at seeing you like that, and not being able to help you. He grabbed at his phone, not even glancing at the Caller ID screen before answering the call with a low growl of a ‘Wha’dya want?’ before the familiar voice instantly set him on high alert.
“Is everything okay? Did something happen? I can be back down there in an-” Bakugo was cut off by the Director’s quick apology, and explanation.
“No, Mr. Bakugo everything is alright, I’m so sorry to call so late. It sounds like I disturbed your rest,” her tone was truly apologetic, and Bakugo had grown quite fond of the woman over the last few weeks, unable to hold onto his anger. “I wanted to relay some news to you and felt it couldn’t wait until morning.” This had Bakugo sitting straight up in bed, his heart pounding wildly in his chest as the edges of his vision blurred, the panic already taking a hooked hold in his chest.
“I’m listening,” is all he could manage out with his normal tone of voice.
Did you decide to reject his adoption application?
Did something happen when she took you to see the hybrid doctor? Was everything alright?
“I wanted to extend my sincerest congratulations,” she finally said and Bakugo’s whole body froze. “I had a talk with our little Puppy, and she has accepted your application for her adoption. We can have arrangements made for you to bring her home by tomorrow if that’s suitable for you?”
You said yes.
You said yes?
YOU SAID YES!
Bakugo’s whole body buzzed with relief, excitement and anticipation. He couldn’t hide the stupid grin he felt taking over his face as his right leg jumped anxiously hearing what the Director had to say about the process of scheduling a pickup.
“Yes,” Bakugo finally agreed, “I can be there first thing in the morning.”
˗ˋˏ ♡ ˎˊ˗
Morning couldn’t come soon enough for Bakugo, rushing through his shower, throwing on an outfit of all-black casual clothes... rushing out the door to meet Kirishima who offered to drive him again instead of letting him take a paid service, or use the agency provided drivers he knew Bakugo disliked.
“Good morning, Bakugo, ready to go?” Kirishima’s bright voice greeted the rough blonde as all he got in return was a deep grunt... or a growl? but was met with a content sigh as Kirishima held up a coffee he picked up for Bakugo on the way. The exhausted blonde inhaling a deep breath of the coffee steam before tipping the cup for a drink.
“Thanks,” Bakugo muttered, sipping the hot liquid as he put his seatbelt on and sank back into the seat.
“Are you excited, bro?” Kirishima asked, peeking at Bakugo from his peripheral, to see Bakugo’s body go rigid as he looked out the window.
“M’nervous,” he finally said after a momentary pause, on bad days I can barely take care of myself... hell there was that month you had to come and stay with me just so I’d eat and shower... what if I fail at taking care of her when she needs me the most? It’s not just my rehabilitation, it’s hers too...”
“Hey man, don’t worry too much about it,” Kirishima’s voice still held his normal joyful tone, but the underlying was he spoke was deep, and comforting to Bakugo. “I think you’ll be better at taking care of someone else than you are yourself, and she’ll help to remind you of how important it is to take care of yourself - because if you’re not feeling good enough, you can’t do good by her... and you know you always have me to ask for help, too, I’ll always be there for you Kats...” Bakugo just nodded, holding back a strangled sob in his throat as he continued to face out the window, afraid that if he saw the loving, understanding look on Kirishima’s face he’d just burst into tears.
The drive was quiet except for the music Kirishima was playing at a low volume, the sounds of the comfortable silence mixed with the occasional stuttered sip of hot coffee had the moment feeling perfectly... regular. It calmed Bakugo down to have his friend here with him, although the closer they got to the facility, as the large building came into view on the horizon, Bakugo felt a rush of acidic bile rise in his throat with his nerves. This was it. This was really happening!
Kirishima had pulled up and around the circular driveway and parked in front of the building... Bakugo was frozen in his seat as his eyes were glued off in the distance to something other than where he was, his head visibly out of the moment.
“You good, Kats?” Kirishima’s voice was a soft, reassuring tone, gentle but firm as his hand reached over and patted Bakugo’s thigh, before his large hand wrapped around the muscled thigh and squeezed. The action brought Bakugo back and he glanced down at the hand on his thigh and then up Kirishima’s arm to his kind, friendly face.
“Yeah, m’good just...” *Bakugo shuddered a little, this vulnerability making him a little queasy. “Nervous, is all... more than I thought I’d be.” Kirishima couldn’t help the way his toothy grin widened even more at Bakugo’s admission, and gave him a pat on the shoulder.
“Don’t sweat it, Kats,” Kirishima reassured the blonde. “She chose you, too, and there’s a whole system in place to support you guys... everything will be fine.” Bakugo just nodded, hesitating for a moment more before downing the rest of his coffee and finally steeling his nerves enough to walk in.
˗ˋˏ ♡ ˎˊ˗
“Mr. Bakugo, welcome in!” A new desk worker greeted Bakugo, one he had met briefly at the recent community day, his smile bright and friendly.
“I’m here to see the Director...” Bakugo’s normally brash and aggressive voice was closer to a meek whisper, though his baritone always carried a strength to it.
The staff member continued to smile kindly, making a quick call as he motioned down the hallway, hanging up. “The Director is expecting you; did you need an escort to her office?” Bakugo just shook his head, already heading the now familiar route to the Director’s office as the pit of anxiety in the bottom of his stomach expanded and threatened to swallow him whole. Once he reached the familiar door, he knocked softly and was greeted with a soft ‘Come in!’ and upon opening was met with the sight of the Director, and you... you who looked so small and happy with your newly floppy ears tilting cutely as you leaned back and looked up at Bakugo.
“Mr. Bakugo, welcome back... we were just going over our little Puppy’s ear care, please, sit,” the Director said with a friendly tone, motioning for him to sit in the chair beside you. You, who despite looking away from Bakugo with a slightly nervous expression now, still wagged the fluffy little cloud of a tail behind you, unable to hide your emotions. “Now, she must apply this antibiotic cream morning and night to the areas affected where the rubber bands were, and she also has a pill she needs to take to ensure no spread of any internal viruses, right, Puppy?”
You only nodded, biting your lower lip as you looked down at your folded hands, fidgeting with them in your lap. “Yes, rub on ears and take the pill...” you said softly, nodding to yourself.
“Good girl,” the Director praised, and then turned to Bakugo, but not before adding. “Puppy why don’t you go and get all your stuff together and make sure you’re not forgetting anything? We’ll come meet you shortly, okay?” You nodded, hopping down from the chair and padding out of the room softly as you closed the door behind you... The Director now turning to Bakugo. “Before we finalize everything, are there any concerns you have at this moment?”
Bakugo thought for a moment, good and hard before shaking his head. “No, I think we’ve covered everything up until this point, and I feel pretty supported by you... and Kirishima has offered to help me adjust as well.” The Director nodded, a genuine smile on her face.
“I, as well as my staff are here to be a resource for you, Bakugo, and we will keep in touch via email, and I am only a phone call away... I’m happy you have a friend supporting you as well, it will make the transition easy knowing someone who has been through the same thing.”
“I appreciate all of your help, and all of the courses you provided too,” Bakugo admitted with a soft look on his face. “I feel better prepared now, even if I still feel like I’m out of my element here...” The Director gave Bakugo a soft look before standing up and motioning him to follow.
“Let’s go get our little Puppy, shall we?” She said gently, leading Bakugo down a new hallway he hadn’t yet been to, to finally land in front of a white door. The Director knocked and then slowly cracked the door, peeking inside as she smiled, calling your name. “Are you all packed up, Puppy?” She said softly, opening the door and Bakugo’s heart almost melted at the sight of you sitting on your bed with one little bag beside you on the floor, your legs swinging on the overhang of the bed as you glanced up, a small, nervous smile on your face as you nodded. Bakugo watched you jump down, grabbing the bag and walking forward, opting to take his hand as you smiled up at him.
Bakugo almost fainted from the varying emotions in his body: fear, anxiety, happiness, love, a little cuteness aggression.... when you held his hand, looking up at him with a smile when you said... “Ready!”

Dragon Kiri
Tumblr media
Dragon Kirishima would just keep you in his nest as much as possible. Even if his nest mainly consists of your clothes and blankets but that’s beside the point. The mans wants you in the nest with him. Not outside of it where someone can snatch you up at any moment. His nest is his safe space which means it’s yours as well. The space where he can hold you in his arms cover you to protect you from any danger.
“Eiji, I have to get up,” you groaned trying to roll him off of you.
“No you don’t! You’re the safest right here.”
Poor bb just wants to keep you to himself...because it’s safe...
Not also because he wants you to carry his hatchlings one day...

Pairings: Panther! Shoto Todoroki, Hawk! Takami Keigo, Rabbit! Izuku Midoriya, Wolf! Katsuki Bakugou, Dog! Eijiro Kirishima x Human Female! Reader
Word Count: 2.5k
Summary: You are just trying to finish the chapter of your book. The boys seem to have a problem with that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Convincing the boys to have a pool day was not very hard. It was blazing hot and spending some time in the cool pool is exactly what everyone needed. Plus the thought of you in a swimsuit had the boys frantically running into their rooms to change.
So here you were, out by the pool suntanning with a book in your hands. You wore large sunglasses that covered your face and a pink and white polka-dot bikini.
Izuku stands in front of you, near the edge of the pool, and cocks his head to the side. “What are you reading, Y/N?”
You tear your eyes from the page and onto the boy. He was wearing bright red swim shorts and had goggles on his forehead that pushes the mop of hair out of his face. You scan his body, just because you could. It was beginning to get more toned, you note happily. He did spend a lot of time in your gym.
“Y/N?” He prompts again, and you quickly tear your eyes from his abs to his face. He was blushing lightly, having caught your stare.
You blush in return and frantically wave your hands in front of your face. “Oh, uh, just some stupid cheesy romance book.”
His ears twitch above his head. “Are you a romantic person?”
“Hopelessly,” You sigh thinking about the times you have daydreamed about having a lover.
He furrows his eyebrows in thought. He brings his hand to his chin and begins his muttering things you couldn’t understand, “Huh. Hopeless romantic. Would she like flowers? Or does she want some sort of grand gesture? Like maybe–”
Suddenly the bunny falls–No is pushed into the pool. He lands in the water with a short screech. Your eyes widen and you quickly check if he’s alright. Izuku’s now-soaked hair falls in front of his face and he frowns at the figure above him.
“Kacchan!”
“You deserved it. Nobody wanted to hear your annoying ass muttering.”
You frown at the wolf. “Katsuki,” You warn.
He looks at you from above his black sunglasses. His red eyes bore into yours. “What? You know I’m right.”
You sigh and shake your head, knowing you’re not going to win this battle. So, you instead take in his appearance. Black swim trunks and black aviators. You weren’t surprised by his outfit choice.
He catches your stare and grins, canines exposed. “You better get in the water soon or you’re going to end up like Deku over here.” He uses his thumb to point to the rabbit in the pool and you sigh but nod.
You watch him jump into the shallow end of the pool and walk toward the small waterfall. He leans against it with a sign, finally cooling off.
You hum and turn back toward your book.
“Cannonball!” You recognize the voice immediately and you perk up. You watch Eijiro run from the ledge and jump in the pool, with his legs tucked into his chest.
From this angle you could tell that he was wearing those ridiculous shorts you told him NOT to buy the first day you guys went shopping. Bright neon yellow. He looked like a human highlighter. You didn’t even have time to groan about his outfit choice.
Water sprays everywhere in the pool, and some droplets land on the bottom of your legs. You laugh as Eijiro comes up for air. He swims to the closest ledge, where Izuku was also hanging onto.
The rabbit put the yellow goggles on. It made his eyes look massive. He looked ridiculous but you didn’t want to ruin his fun, so you held back a laugh.
“Did you see that, Y/N? C’mon get in the water, it’s no fun without you!”
“Of course, I saw it, I even felt it. Gotta be one of the best cannonballs I have ever seen.” He puffs out his chest in pride. “And In a bit. I just want to finish this chapter.”
“Alright! I’ll make sure to save you a floaty next to mine!”
Katsuki growled from across the pool, cutting you off. He wipes his sunglasses with his finger. “Really, idiot?” The blond scolds from across the pool and the dog grins.
“Sorry, Bakugou! But if you are in the pool, you do have to be prepared to get wet,” He hums in response, grinning at you as he talks.
“I am about to get you real wet when I drown your ass!” The wolfs yells in response.
Eijirio laughs for a second and turns to face the wolf who is across the pool. “Sorry man, but that stuff doesn’t really turn me on.” He raises his eyes mischievously and you burst into laughter.
“Kirishima!” Izuku says, hand covering his mouth to hide his smile. The dog winks at him which makes you laugh even more. It was rare for Eijiro to best Bakugou and entertained the hell out of you.
Katsuki sits there for a second processing what the hell his best friend just said. He tears off his sunglasses and sends them flying into the grass. “You are dead, dog!” He bellows before tearing through the water toward the redhead.
The two begin to wrestle above and under the water, and Izuku has the first-row seat, with his goggles on beneath the water.
You knew that the two of them would never hurt each other so you fix your sunglasses, lean back, and continue your book.
Someone sits down next to you, and you turn your head immediately at the sound. Shoto is in the seat next to you, fully clothed. He turns to you and smiles softly. “Hello, Y/N.”
“Hey Sho.” His heart picks up as it usually does when he hears the nickname fall from your mouth. He scoots his chair closer to you and you smile and nod at him encouragingly.
You turn your attention back to the book, causing him to frown. He doesn’t say anything.
After a couple of seconds, the panther begins to shift uncomfortably in his chair. You turn toward him in confusion. “Hey Shoto, why do you have your regular clothes on?
“Do you want me to strip for you?” He asks casually, honestly hoping you’ll say yes.
You pinch the bridge of your nose and try not to blush. You know by now that this is how he speaks, and he doesn’t mean anything by it.  “Why did you have to frame it like that?”
He cocks his head to the side and frowns. “Oh sorry. I can undress for you if you want. Is that better?”
You give up. “Okay. Never mind. It’s fine.”
“It’s because I don’t want to go in the pool,” He reasons, looking disgusted at the two canines currently trying to drown one another.
“Why? It’s hot as hell. Wouldn’t it feel nice?” You encourage and he shakes his head.
“Not a fan of water.”
You giggle at this and he cocks his head in confusion. “What?”
“A cat afraid of water. You are a walking stereotype, Shoto,” You tease and the panther furrows his eyebrows.
“Cats are afraid of water?”
“Yes, have you not seen–You know what. Nevermind. It’s perfectly fine to not like water,” Reasoning with him usually took at least ten minutes, and you really wanted to finish your chapter.
So the two of you sit in silence. You can feel Shoto stare at you but you ignore it. Just a couple more pages and then you can ask what is wrong. “I like that swimsuit. You look pretty, Y/N.”
You begin to respond to the compliment when a familiar voice cuts in, “Yeah she does and isn’t it just the perfect color?”
And suddenly the cocky blonde is walking, more like strutting, over to the two of you. You can’t hold back the laugh that falls from your lips when you see what he is wearing. Pink and white polka dot shorts, and pink sunglasses.
“What are you laughing at, Dove? Don’t like it? Woah, hold on, did you copy me?” Keigo clutches at his heart, with an overdramatic look of fake pain on his face.
“You’re such an idiot,” You sigh but smile.
“Agreed.” The panther says from next to you, who was not joking.
“Hey, princess! I’m surprised you didn’t come out here in a bikini!” The wolf calls, putting the fight on hold just to tease the hawk.
“Would you have liked that more, wolf? Cause I’m sure Y/N has some extras.” You try to hold back another laugh from the bickering but fail to. Shoto shakes his head at the comment.
Izuku emerges from the water, ears pinned back on his head from the force of the water. “Please don’t Hawks! You look great in pink,” Izuku says with enthusiasm. He has been idolizing the bird from the very first day he moved in, almost as much as he does with All-Might.
Keigo takes in the rabbit’s dorky appearance and has to cover his laugh with a cough. “Thanks, kid. Hey, can you hand me that floaty? The pizza one.” Izuku nods and dives back under the water to fetch it.
He brings it back and Keigo climes on and fixes his pink sunglasses. He then turns over with a huff and lays down, sunbathing on his back, with his eyes closed.
It goes silent again, excluding Izuku and Eijiro laughing in the water with one another. You turn back to your book.
A couple of minutes go by and Keigo speaks loud enough for everyone to hear, “Don’t Y/N and I look like a couple, matching together like this?” He loved stirring up shit.
Katsuki throws a blow-up beach ball at the hawk, hitting him in the stomach, before he could catch it. “No, you idiot! She’s not into you, bird brain!” Katsuki yells from across the pool and you sigh, knowing that it’s going to be a couple of minutes before you can go back to your book.
The panther, who much to your surprise, did actually strip, sits up next to you. He was wearing dark blue shorts that matched his collar that he never took off. “Bakugous right. Keigo, you are delusional,” Shoto calls from your side.
“Ironic,” The bird mumbles, before closing his eyes again. It goes quiet for a few seconds, and you think that was all, but suddenly Keigo and his floaty are being flipped over. The bird falls into the water with a groan.
Izuku and Eijiro pop up with a smile and high-five one another. You laugh at this and the two turn to you, smiling in return. “Thanks for the encouragement, Y/N! We all know he deserved it,” Eijiro calls from the pool, and Izuku hums in agreement.
Keigo doesn’t argue knowing he provoked it. So he sighs and gets out of the water to place his wet sunglasses on the table. He winks at you when he catches you staring at his body. You turn away, slightly blushing on being caught, again. At least Katsuki and Eijiro didn’t catch you.
It goes quiet again. Shoto has moved the seat even closer to yours. You don’t say anything. He turned his body to face you and you could feel him staring again. He was waiting for you to admire his body like you did with the others.
Five more pages and then you’re done. He can wait for five pages.
You pause for a second. It was quiet. Too quiet. You glance at the water and frown. The boys weren’t there. You begin to look for them when Shoto begins to speak, “Y/N, you know, your body looks–” And suddenly he is being lifted.
Each boy holds a different limb, Katsuki, and Eijiro hold him up both under his arms, while Keigo and Izuku hold him up by the back of his knees. He looks at you and then the boys shocked. They in response, grin viciously.
The boys have noticed for a couple of minutes that Shoto has been staring at you, and it definitely wasn’t in a pure way. So, they came up with a plan, and here they are.
“Perverts get banished to the pool!” Eijiro says, and the four begin to swing him toward the water.
“Wait–I’m not! Guys, cmon don’t do this! I hate the water!” But it’s too late and suddenly the panther is flying toward the pool. Your eyes widen when he hits the cool waterl with a splash.
When he comes back up he looks absolutely pissed. You cover your mouth and laugh silently.
But the moment doesn’t last long, cause suddenly you are being lifted up now. A hand grabs for your sunglasses and places them on the counter next to you. “Huh? Guys wait! I’m, not a pervert! C’mon, I just need to finish my chapter!”
“Sorry Dove, you should know we are all impatient bastards.”
“He’s right, Y/N! And you told me earlier you would come in! You are taking way too long, man.”
“I told you that you would end up like Deku.”
“You can finish reading your “cheesy romance book” later, Y/N!”
“But–” and just like Shoto, you were being thrown into the water, with a small squeal. You land with a small splash, and the boys all jump in after you, carefully making sure to not jump on you.
When you come up for air, you begin to laugh and the boys follow in pursuit, excluding Shoto.
You quickly swim over toward the pouting cat, and move his sopping-wet hair away from his eyes. He closes his eyes and bathes in the soft touch. When you pull away, he smiles softly at you. “See? Not too bad right?”
He nods a little hesitantly. “I guess.” You smile wide at him and suddenly you are being pulled away from him by your legs. You laugh and allow yourself to be dragged back.
You spent the rest of the day teaching the boys every single pool game you could think of.
Katsuki got way too invested in pool volleyball, almost drowning Eijiro while diving for the ball. Izuku is a pro at marco-polo, it actually freaked everyone out. You think he is cheating. Eijiro is fantastic at sharks and minnows, but that didn’t surprise anyone, in a different life you swore he would be a shark. Shoto liked playing colors, because when your “it” you have to stand out of the water. He didn’t even try to tag anyone. You had to end the game quickly because Shoto would never jump into the water. Keigo suggested playing mermaids, half a joke and half serious, and got shit on by everyone immediately. His swimsuit didn’t help his case. And finally, you requested a race. They let you win, and the six of you knew it, but nobody said anything.
By the end of the day, everyone was exhausted. After showering the six of you passed out ten minutes into your almost daily, superhero movie.

Rabbit! Izuku Midoriya
The building was filled with all types of noises, from barks to meows, even some growls. Some hybrids were out playing and doing their own things, some playing in groups outside or maybe they enjoyed their own company. Izuku was watching a movie that had come on just in time for his break. All hybrids get a break from the others to focus on themselves if needed, and he decided to watch his favorite movie. Super Hybrid: All might. Oh, how he adored the movie and the man it was about. His room filled with decorations of Allmight himself, posters on every wall.
He couldn’t keep his eyes off the screen when the scene came on. Allmight fighting a bad guy, his tail smacking him around from place to place. It was like watching it for the first time, he was on the edge of his seat cheering at the screen for his hero. Not much could get his attention away from this movie, so when a scent came into his nose it peaked his interest. What was that smell? So sweet, soft yet bold, how could something smell so perfect? His flappy ears stood up and his attention drew to the hallway where his door was cracked open. Grabbing the remote be paused the movie and walked to the door.
He poked his head out slowly to see what was going on and if he could find the source of the smell. Then he saw the owner of the adoption center in the middle of the hallway, then a woman standing next to her about three doors down. A hybrid with droopy ears likes his but brown, the hybrid rubbed her head against the new woman’s hand as she smiled. When he saw you, he felt the world crash onto him with a kick to the chest.
Mate.
The words rang through his head and made his body tense up at the thought of having you in his life. But, he couldn’t have a mate? And not someone as pretty as you? He cheeks heated up while staring at you with wide eyes frozen in the doorway to his room. He could hear your conversation but didn’t truly listen, the words sounding like muffles to him. But a few seconds later your head turned when the owner said something and you looked right at him.
He yelps and slips back into his room quickly from being caught and your attention. His heart raced as fast as it could go as he panicked over every detail. Did you really see him? Was he imagining you here? What if this was a dream and he’d wake up mateless again? What if you don’t want him as a mate anyway? So many questions ran through his speedy head and made him panic.
“Izuku,” the old woman’s sweet voice called him out of his thoughts as she walked into the open room. “We have a visitor, like to meet them?” Your frame shuffled into the room and waved softly, the smile on your lips look like heaven. All he could do is stare and mumble nervously with words you couldn’t understand.
“He’s shy, but he’s a good hybrid to have around.” You nodded and reached into your pocket and his attention calmed down at the other scent he loved. Treats. A brown little heart shaped treat rest in your hands and pushed it towards him. “Hello, Izuku. My names Y/n.” The name engraved itself into his brain. The excitement finally washed over him and shot throughout his body, making him so happy that his leg started to tap and take the treat into his mouth.
He was so happy as he chew and you watched his nose crinkle with each bite, his happy feet bouncing. You giggled at the sight, he was your favorite by far. “I’ll let you have some time with him, seeing as he’s your perfect match. I shall be just outside with the other hybrids, call if you need anything.” She bowed and walked out the room.
You look at izuku and a nervous smile spread your face as he inched closer, no threatening gestures but with a curious look. His noses sniffed around your hand and up your wrists, he looked so focused. Then he nudged his faces across it like he was petting himself and your heart exploded. He looked so happy and relaxed with your touch.
“Mate.” He muttered and you froze up. Did he say that or was it a mistake…Mate? That’s interesting but you can’t help but feel like it was right. “Tell me, do you want me to take you home?” He jumped up and hugged your leg and you almost fell. Laughing you reach down to pet this hair.
He was interesting, he couldn’t get himself off of you. But he was perfectly sweet.
Tumblr media
Wolf! Katsuki Bakugo
Katsuki is wasn’t one for social interaction, especially with new people he had just meet. Whenever someone came to look at the hybrids he wouldn’t let them get near and just walk off or give them attitude. He was adopted once before and it was the worst time of his life, humans were cruel and he knew damn well they couldn’t put up with him. So he put off the idea that he would find someone nice enough.
Kats didn’t get along with the other hybrids, only a selected group he allowed near him. If he wasn’t hanging around them then he was outside in the shade, or playing with a chew toy that need to be replaced each day. He loved to be outside a few hours because he had a lot of energy he couldn’t release inside. Today he decided to take a break and lay on the ground to take a quick nap, the shade and sun making him tired. Then, his nose picked up a scent. Shooting his head up from his resting place his head looked around for the scent he was smelling.
This wasn’t food, it wasn’t like anything he’s ever smelled before. It was the perfect smell for him. He craved to get near the source. So he stood up and looked around, his tail wagging behind him. Big and thick with blonde and white with brown tips like his ears. “Shit.” He smelled it out and followed trail. A beautiful laugh caught his ears and he looked up to see a woman smiling with the owner, a hybrid getting their head pat. Her. It was coming from her.
Mate. Claim. Mate.
She was his mate, his tail wagged harder but his head gave him trouble. He didn’t need a mate, and not a shitty human at that. What was she trying to do? He’s a alpha and not some pet she could keep in her house- But he wanted it. To be close to her at every second to keep he safe and sound. He groaned and fell close to the ground and behind the flowers, the garden being filled with big places with high planted flowers. It was easy for him to crawl closer without being caught, after all it was in his blood to hunt.
He got closer and watched for a second. “I’ll leave you to look around, I know of a few hybrids out here. A snake one, he’s usually in the trees and many others.” She smiles and took the cat hybrid inside, leaving you alone. Smiling to yourself and straighten your blouses then walk over to the flowers, smelling them. Bakugo wiggled his body and got ready to pounce on you, why? He just felt like it. But when you giggled and looked over at his direction he froze in shock and confusion.
“There’s a mirror wall behind you,” you look a seat on the bench beside you. “But don’t be discouraged, you would of had me.” The lighthearted tone in your voice made him heat up, and your smile with no anger in it. He rolled his eyes and stood up, inching closer to you with a glare, a low growl leaving his lips to imitate you with fear. You only smiled and pulled out a big threat, a bone shaped one.
“I apologize if I offended you, it was not my intention.” Standing up slowly you tossed the treat softly before him. “But I hope you’ll take this treat as a apology, great wolf.” His ego built up at your praise and felt better. He took the treat and took a few bites. While he was focused on the treat you backed up to leave him alone, not wanted to anger him. Wolfs can be very territorial when it comes to it, so you wouldn’t egg him in.
“I didn’t say go, damn human.” His tough voice caught you off guard. You turned around to see him soften his glare and look at the bench you once sat at. “Sit.” You smirked for a second and walked back to the bench and did as he said. He was adorable. You stuck out your hand for him to sniff and he hesitated, looking up at you like asking permission or to get a read on you. But you only flashed him a eye closing smile.
His noses poked your hand and sniffed all around to take in your scent in, and his body turned into mush. Your scent, he craved it. “Damn, of course it be a human.” He huffed and crossed his arms. You looked at him confused, “Hmm?” Kats rolled his eyes hard and pointed at you, “Mate.” He enjoyed how you looked at him in shock and flustered.
“Now, go get the paper work done so I can leave. I wouldn’t let anyone leave with you today wether you like it or not.” His tail stomped the ground as his teeth really showed to threaten the people he thought of. “Well? Go!” You giggled and rushed away from the shouting hybrid, a rough one.
He was demanding and didn’t care. He however, was loving on the way to your house so you didn’t mind.

Shoto Todoroki
Shoto is a hybrid that likes to take naps, his cat like nature is strong. The sunlight can make him fall asleep anywhere, no matter the place. He also loves to climb up on things to take a nice nap, mostly on a cat like tree they have for hybrids. He also has a scratching problem but not in a bad way, he just needs to stretch often. Those are the things he does in a day. Wake up, scratch, eat, Nap, scratch and then repeat. However he does hang out with some hybrids on occasion.
Today Shotos place of choice was in front of the art rooms door, so close to getting hit if someone opened the door fully. The hybrid didn’t notice this when he went to sleep or he would have scooted a bit further. You wanted to explore the place and decide to check the art room to see what’s it was like. When you opened the door you didn’t see the hybrid behind you, only a tail that curled and swung slowly. Stopping and not pushing the door any further you walked through the gap and poke your head around to see the hybrid laying there.
His hair mix toned, red and white. His tail thin but long, white fur all the way down. But his ears matched the hair on each side, he was gorgeous. You smile and push all the way in the room and close the door as quietly as you can, trying not to startle him. Kneeling down a few inches from him you start to call out softly for him to walk up. Clinking your tongue, “Little buddy, wake up please.” You repeated that line over and over. But he wasn’t little, only a small frame but you could see the muscles he had and how tall he was.
He slowly opened his eyes with a yawn, confused on what was going on. When he noticed you his demeanor changed slight. His face dropping and staring you, with almost a cold glare. Chuckling to not be afraid you step back, “Sorry, I just didn’t want you to get hurt. You were sleeping in front of the door.” You glanced at the door and showed him what you meant. But he didn’t stop staring at you with a unreadable expression.
Shoto was freaking out inside. Your scent drove him insane, one he wanted to run and nuzzle up to. He couldn’t look away from your pretty face or he would have. What was this? Had you have some sort of magic to bewitched him? Why was his body on fire? He had so many emotions and non of them made sense. Until his mouth started to water..
Mate.
The clicking sound echoed through his brain when he realized what you were to him. A mate. Fate was funny about bringing people together and he didn’t have to find you, you found him. “Hello?” You waved a hand in front of your face as he continued to be silent and frozen. He blinked finally and you felt relieved. “Call me shoto.” You hummed at the calming tone. “Y/n.” You reached out your hand with a smile. Of course he couldn’t hold himself back from taking it and sniffing you.
Your scent was so nice to smell, calming but made his blood pump. You had weird affects on his body. You watch him sniff you and it made you laugh as he kept hitting his nose against the center. He was booping his own nose. Then he did something unexpected and licked your hand softly. To give affection he kept doing it, small licks. Nothing more to the eyes. Only he did it to get his scent on you.
“Adopt me.” He look up at you blankly and you were taken aback by his boldness. “We just met, don’t you want to get a know me first?” You asked. Most hybrids take a week at least before getting comfortable with a owner, or at least a whole day. “I know all I need, you are my mate of course.” He nuzzled against your hand as his tail swayed around smoothly.
“Mates?” You questioned but couldn’t help but rub his cheek, he purred so loudly you could feel it. “Hmm, smell you. Us hybrids have mates, or some do and mine is you.” He shrugged like it wasn’t a big deal. “Now, I’m tired. Could you go get everything done so I can’t go back to napping?”
You took shoto home that night and he fell asleep on your nap. Followed you around the house with his head in your shoulders.

Eijiro Kirishima
Kiri likes to be with other hybrids and people, a social butterfly if you will. He always has a smile on his face to cheer and play with the others, the big brother of the estate. His dream is to one day have a forever home with a family that loves him but worries about being worthy. Despite always tell the others they’d get adopted or cheer them up, he felt the same way. But he puts it off and has fun instead, he’s very active. They had to build a new playground area just for him and hybrids like him who are rough but playful.
Kiri today was in the playroom all by himself and it saddens him, no one to play with. He’d have the rope in his mouth and swing it around almost like a weapon. Or jumping around from the bars to places, or his favorite. Catch. They had a device to throw the ball automatically and he loved it, almost as much as someone actually throwing him the ball. Kiri watched the ball get shot out and hit the table making it change direction to the door. To his surprise the door opened just as the ball rolled on the floor and stop between someone’s leg. His mind focused on the ball he chased after it.
His legs ran to catch the small object and only to be caught in another trance caused by a smell, a delicious smell. Stopping in his tracks he froze and looked up at the person at the door who now looked at the ball between her feet. A smile spread on her lips when she bent down to pick it up. The smell was coming from her. Was it a treat in her pocket? What flavor was it? That smell was heaven to his nose, like it was made just for him.
Mate.
Giggling you looked at the pup in front of you, a grip on the ball “Want me to throw it?” You wiggled it slightly. Thump thump. The sound of his huge fluffy tail hit the floor as he panted quietly. He was so excited. “Get it.” You threw it past him and made sure not to hit anything but far for him to have fun. He leaped up and chased after it, so fast and quick. It was cute to watch him bite the ball and chew down on it slightly then look back at you. He pranced back to you with his tail wagging, a pride filled aura as he puffed out his chest.
He dropped the ball at your feet and sat back on the floor, his tongue sticking out. “Awe, such a good boy.” You reached down to pet his head but gave him enough time to pull away if he’d like. But he didn’t so your hand patted the red hair, slightly touching the ears on his head. “My names Y/n.” Without a warning he jumps up and knocks you down, leaning onto of you and starts to lick across your face. His hands on your chest and tail making a breeze.
You laughed and tried to move but he didn’t let up on his actions. You smelled too good. You called him a good boy. A perfect mate for him. He leaned up and didn’t let his hands up from your stomach. “Eijiro Kirishima.” His smile was so wide you saw his teeth that looked perfectly white and sharp. Taking a breath you smile up at the hybrid you just met. “Nice to met you.” He jumped off you and waited for you to get up.
When you did you brushed off yourself and whipped your face off. Kiri stood up finally and you looked up at him, he was one of the biggest hybrids you have ever seen. Blushing at his height you giggled, he was just a huge puppy. “Are you here to adopt?” He asked, his ears and tail stopping and going down. You could tell he was sad and you wondered why.
“Yes, I am.” You see him look at the floor and a sad smile grew on his face. “They’d be luck to have you.” The heart in your chest shattered at his tone, so quick to dismiss himself. “Would you be willing to get adopted? I was looking for a dog hybrid…If you’re willing.” Kiri’s head shit up and his body started to wage and bounce. The sparkle in his eyes reappeared and his happiness coming back.
The next thing you know his arms are wrapping themselves around you and pulling you closer, his tongue licking your cheek. You patted his head, “I’ll take that as a yes.” You didn’t expect to meet the hybrid of your dreams on the first day of looking but here he was. “Mate, going home with my mate.” His words made you tense up. Mate? Does he think you’re his mate… Why doesn’t that not sound wrong?
“Okay, let’s go so I can go to the office.” He whined and hugged you closer. His head rested on your shoulder and he refused to let you go, he had a person for the first time. Too soon to let go. “You can come with him, but I need to walk.” He felt your chest vibrate with laughter and he huffed. His arms let your waist go but hooked on your arm instead.
You didn’t expect him to be so clingy and protective over you but that’s what he was. You’re now his home. But there’s no other pup for you.

「 extemporaneous 」 — 05 ☾
— pairing: multi; shoto x reader, izuku x reader (so FAR...) — genre: hybrid au, slow burn-ish, reverse harem — wc: 4.4k — rated: sfw — notes: yeet

Tumblr media
At this point, should you really be surprised by the dumb shit you receive from body corporate?
The answer to that is no, you should definitely be used to it by now. Whether you should be angry, on the other hand… well, that’s another matter entirely.
And you feel like in this instance, your anger is more than a little justified.
The two hybrids had recoiled slightly when the spark first lit within you, and you instantly felt bad for throwing your emotions around when you know they’re so sensitive to them. You let the letter fall onto the nearby bench, closing your eyes and taking a deep breath. When you feel the heat in your chest fade a bit, you take another deep breath. You’re still mad, but now a little less intensely so.
When you open your eyes and reach for the letter again, it’s not where you left it. Alarmed and with a slight feeling of dread, you turn and catch the two hybrids scanning its contents. This makes you feel even worse, because it’s not exactly something you want them to read.
“I’m sorry,” you say, plucking the letter away before they can get too far into it. “You shouldn’t have to read rubbish like this.”
“Yona, they’re threatening to fine you,” Izuku says, eyes wide. He immediately steps forward, edging closer to you so he can lay his hand on your arm. His long ears droop ever so slightly. “Because of us…?”
“Don’t worry, they threaten to fine me all the time,” you say, flashing him a smile. “I have a blood feud with one of the body corporate members, so it’s kind of common.”
Shoto’s eyes are piercing daggers through the paper in your hold, the pensive look on his face almost distracting you from the soft, distressed whine Izuku lets out.
“We need to have collars,” Shoto announces, and you feel your heart sink. That’s the part you were hoping they hadn’t read. Collars can be a bit of a touchy subject for hybrids, and you personally aren’t fond of them because of the reminder they provide that hybrids are viewed by some as subhuman.
“I mean, you don’t have to if – if you don’t want--” You cut yourself off, flustered, and take a moment to form what you want to say. “This is their rules, not mine. You don’t have to do anything you’re uncomfortable with, I won’t make you. I won’t let them make you, either.”
Izuku’s eyes glisten a bit as he looks at you, and that’s about all the warning you get before he throws himself at you so abruptly you almost go toppling over. He whines your name loudly where his face is pressed against your shoulder, the vibrations tickling almost as much as his dark curls against your cheek. You’re beginning to realise that Izuku is a lot more emotional and dramatic than you first pegged him to be. Instinctively, your arms come up around him, rubbing his back with wide eyes. You look to Shoto for help, but his eyes are trained on the hold you have around Izuku.
Izuku yanks his head back, gripping you by the shoulders. His ears go pin straight for a moment at the sheer determination emanating from him.
“No, you’re taking care of us so it’s only fair!” he announces with gusto, brows drawn. “I don’t want you to get in trouble when all you’re doing is giving us a place to stay. Besides…”
His eyes flit to the side, a blush tinging his honey skin. His next words are murmured so softly you almost miss them. “If it’s for you… I don’t mind wearing a collar…”
He then releases you, backtracking and slapping a hand over his rapidly-colouring cheeks. If he was going to get so embarrassed as a result, why did he even say it? Fondness sparks within you at how absolutely endearing he is.
Shoto’s opportunistic streak shows itself again a moment later when he notices the vacant space around you and approaches; he slips his arms around your waist loosely from behind, his face planting itself into your hair.
“We won’t let you get fined,” he mumbles against your head, nose nuzzling slightly. “That’s money that can be spent on other things. Like chicken. And soba.”
You snort at that, following the sudden bold impulse you get to turn in his hold and return his hug. Shoto freezes when you do so, the action apparently unexpected. When you rub a hand over his back, he melts into you and lets out a happy noise that is suspiciously dog-like. You decide not to give him grief over it and instead squeeze him against you.
“Thanks, you two,” you say, pulling away with a bitter smile. “But I’m still sorry you even have to consider it. I didn’t realise that they would, well…”
“Don’t worry about it,” Shoto says, waving his hand. His snowy ears flick atop his head as Izuku voices his agreement. “Like he said, you’ve done a lot for us so far. It’s the least we can do, really.”
You can feel your chest warm at his words. You throw him a soft smile. “You might regret saying that. Word on the street is that a lot of the collar options these days are super ugly.”
Shoto rolls his eyes, letting out a scoff. “I don’t really give a f–“
“I’m sure you’ll take us somewhere promising!” Izuku says, cutting his fellow hybrid off. He meets your eyes and beams. “I trust you, Yona!”
… You might need to sit down.
//
There wasn’t much point in wasting time, so after a brief reprieve at home you took them out to get collars. It still doesn’t sit right with you, despite their reassurance, and on the way to one of the places you googled that has good reviews, you wonder what you can do to make it a bit more even. You don’t want to disrupt the balance you have with them right now, and if they have to start wearing collars when you go out…
It leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
It’s a short drive, and you arrive in what feels like no time at all. You don’t make it a foot away from the car, though, before a hand is grasping your own and tugging you back.
“I can smell it from here,” Shoto says in explanation, “That place is going to reek of other hybrids. Can we…?”
You open your arms without so much as a blink, and they both dive in to make you the one no doubt reeking of hybrid – well, two in particular, anyway.
“This is gonna be a regular occurrence, huh?” You joke, “At this rate, I’m worried what will happen after I shower.”
Izuku laughs, if a bit delayed, but Shoto’s silence makes you spare him a glance. A thoughtful look is on his face for a moment, before he nods and turns his mismatched eyes in your direction.
“Yeah, maybe don’t shower so often. That will preserve it more.”
“Sho!” Izuku smacks his arm, and the canine hybrid huffs.
“I’m kidding,” he says. He clearly wasn’t. Izuku appears kind of mortified.
Rolling your eyes at their antics and Shoto’s perpetually growing boldness, you turn and begin towards the store. Two hurried sets of footsteps follow after you, followed by a hand taking each of your own. You didn’t think it was going to be a reoccurring thing when you introduced it at the shopping centre that time, but you can’t say you’re complaining.
The shop upon entry is… interesting. Kind of like the unholy fusion of a pet store and a jewellery store. There is a number of different sections, each with different styles and price tags, different designers and brand names, and in the far corner is a machine for pressing details onto collar tags. At least you won’t be needing that, since these two technically don’t belong to you.
… Why did that thought kind of hurt?
Shaking your head, you allow your gaze to roam around once more before moving further in. The clerk greets you from the counter on the other side, and you return it before shifting to face your two companions.
“Right,” you say, feeling a little (read: very) out of your element. “Um, let’s have a look, I guess?”
A soft, nervous laugh filters from Izuku, and he peers around while scratching the back of his head. He isn’t sure where to start, either.
Shoto hums, using his grip on your hand to pull you closer to his side. There is only two other groups in here, a small family with a young hamster hybrid, and a tired man in business attire with three hybrids trailing after him. They seem content to mind their own business, though, so you’re not too worried.
Shoto’s instincts appear to be getting the better of him, on the other hand. You might have to ask him if everything is okay when you get back home, because although you’re not exactly opposed to this new behaviour it is pretty different from normal. He’s pressed to your side like a conjoined twin.
“How are you meant to find one that you like if you’re stuck next to me the whole time?” you ask, amused. Shoto doesn’t turn his head, giving you a glance from the corner of his eye.
“I’m not picky,” he announces, on the complete opposite side of the globe to the truth. “I’m sure I can find something easily like this.”
You hum in acknowledgement, trying your best not to laugh. It’s not his fault that he’s so funny without meaning to be. His hand squeezes yours, fingers tightening their hold before he begins to attempt navigation. Izuku is peering around with a critical gaze as he follows, attempting to narrow down which section to visit first.
“I’m going to check out these ones,” he says distractedly, having found something of interest a moment later. You tell him not to worry about price as he goes, but knowing him he probably discarded that blessing before it even entered his ears. He’s too considerate to spend a lot of your money.
You’ve got a list of items you’re intending to be reimbursed for already though, so you’re not too concerned. Nejire better watch her back come tax time.
The variety of styles available is truthfully quite surprising. A pieces catch your eye as you pass them, and they’re so similar to some jewellery already available to humans that you consider getting one for yourself.
That… actually gives you an idea.
You can tell that Shoto wants to keep you within arms reach, but when you pause to inspect a row of glimmering chain collars, and an aisle further up catches his eye, he is forced to let you go. He gives you a morose look as he parts from your side, and it’s as though he’s trying to plead with his eyes for you not to go too far — the sight is so funny you have to turn away so he doesn’t see you smile. He shuffles off to investigate the aisle that caught his eye.
You’re not sure what you expected before walking in here, but you’re able to admit that you might have been a little pessimistic. You were thinking uncomfortable, uncompromising, ugly…. But there are actually quite a number of collars that seem to take the hybrid into consideration. Some are simple, made of durable fabric with bamboo weave so that it doesn’t irritate the senses. Others are soft and made of silk that sits loosely around the neck, unrestricting. Of course, there are also the typical styles normally available for the standard pet – leather, studded, spiked, bejewelled. But you’re happy to admit that the range is better than you thought it would be.
Humming to yourself, you allow your gaze to scroll lazily through the options on the wall – you have no intention of choosing for either of them, but you also want to allow them plenty of time to find one that they like. Now that you’re alone for a brief moment, you let the thought that passed through your mind earlier to return for further deliberation. Deeming it a good idea, you begin looking at the options available a little more discerningly. Something resilient that can be worn every day would be good.
In total, you probably spend about an hour in the store. There is a lot to look at, and both hybrids end up with a handful of runner-ups that they’re choosing between. Gradually, the three of you have migrated closer to the register, and now you’re in the final aisle as the boys show you their spoils.
“Those three are nice,” Izuku says, pointing to the jumbled pile in the basket hanging from his elbow. “But, it’s these two that I’m really stuck between. This black one is a soft material, and has a standard buckle. This green one is also soft, but I like that it doesn’t have any metal and is just one you tie yourself.”
His forest-hued eyes sweep and meet your own, an expectant glimmer catching your eye. “Which one do you think, Yona?”
“They both suit you,” you answer immediately, the instant smile that blooms on his face making your chest warm. “But if I’m being honest… I think I like the green one better on you. The extra bits of fabric that hang down kind of match your ears.”
Izuku beams, a blush erupting on his cheeks as he does so, and immediately dumps the black one back in the basket. “Green it is. Thanks, Yona! I’m just gonna go and put the others back quickly.”
And then he is gone, darting down the aisle with the quick and nimble feet of, well… a rabbit. You turn to Shoto, who had been staring without a break at the collar in his hand for the duration of Izuku’s dilemma.
“I think I want this one,” he says, apparently feeling your gaze. His eyes peek at you from beneath long, thick lashes. “But… it’s a little similar to Izuku’s.”
“So?” you ask, tilting your head. Shoto lifts his face at your response. “If you like this one, then get it. Even if you got one exactly the same, I’m sure you would make it your own when you wear it.”
Shoto hums, pondering your words. The collar in question is a long, thin silken band, meant to wind twice around the neck and then tie off however the wearer prefers. It has a single gold ring looped onto the fabric, meant for a tag, but even without one it looks cute.
“I think it will look really nice,” you say, smiling. “Matches your hair. Well, half of it.”
The canine hybrid snorts, rolling his eyes playfully – he can’t hide the smile that rises, though. “Alright, I’ll get it – but not because you told me to or anything.”
You laugh, placing a hand on his arm. “Alright, go put the rest back. I’ll meet you two at the registers.”
He nods, and leans down to rub his cheek against the top of your head before striding away, long legs carrying him quicker than your eyes can follow. It’s like he can’t help himself, now that you’ve given him the green light to scent you. Your teeth sink into your lip – well, it’s not like you mind. It’s actually kind of endearing.
Time for a change of mental subject! You smack your cheek and move to the counter where the clerk is resting, smiling politely. You place your single item down, and the clerk scans it. You don’t have to wait long for the other two to arrive and place their own choices on the counter.
They all go into a bag after being wrapped in some tissue paper, and the attendant gives the three of you a smile. His cheeks redden as he actually looks at the hybrids by your side, and you feel oddly proud. Is this what it’s like to have kids that grow up handsome?
“Okay, the total for three items is $84.55. Are you a member at all?”
From the corner of your eye, you catch the hybrids sharing a confused look, but you ignore it to shake your head and reach for your card.
“Oh, that’s okay. Would you like me to sign you up? Members get some pretty neat deals with all of our sister stores that handle hybrid products and goods. There’s no extra cost – actually, if anything I think it will probably give you $5 off since this would be your first purchase.”
Your brows shoot up and a surprised hum escapes you. That might actually be a good idea, if its for other stores besides this one. Lord knows how much else you’re probably going to have to buy for these two. “Oh, yeah sure actually. You need my details?”
The process doesn’t take too long, and soon you’re exiting the store and heading for the car once more. It’s been a busy day, really.
You have to dodge the boys’ repeated attempts to take the bag from your hold, though. It’s kind of fun, and by the time you reach the car it’s become a sort of game.
“I’m not that old,” you snort as you climb in. “Do you think my bones will break from carrying this itty bitty bag?”
“No,” Izuku admits, slightly sullen at his failure to carry the bag for you. “But we’ve only lost the battle, not the war.”
Shoto nods, eyes closed and arms crossed. “Enjoy it while it lasts.”
The contents of said bag are unceremoniously dumped on the counter as soon as you arrive home. You feel like you’re distributing rations as you hand them their collars.
“I won’t make you wear them when you’re home, but honestly do whatever you’re comfortable with,” you say, folding the bag and preparing to shove it in the bin.
You receive some dismissive ‘yeah’s, and think they will be busy for now with attempting to wear the collars when a smooth baritone enters the air shortly after.
“By the way, that shop attendant said three items. Did he overcharge you?”
You turn, catching the curious look directed your way. A somewhat secretive smile tugs your lips.
“No, he didn’t.” You grab the third wrapped item from the counter. “He was talking about this.”
It’s unwrapped in seconds and immediately holds the attention of both hybrids. Confusion still twists their features, though.
“It’s pretty,” Izuku says, eyes sweeping over the design of the collar in your hold. “But we both already chose one… what’s this one for?”
“For me,” you answer simply, ignoring their startled looks. “It’s only fair. I don’t like feeling like we’re on unequal footing with only you two wearing them. Now, we’re even.”
It’s a simple band with a thin chain sitting in the middle of the fabric. It has a little star charm dangling from the centre of the chain. Honestly, if someone saw you wearing this on the street they would just think it was a pretty choker. It’s the same for a lot of the things that were in the store, and the ones that your boys chose. The only aspect that makes them collars is the fact it’s a hybrid wearing them.
Upsetting, but you digress.
You fiddle with the collar, attempting to wrangle it from the display card it’s stuck on, and only notice the silence in the room a few beats later. Your eyes flit up, catching sight of two very dumbfounded men.
“You got… a collar to wear with us?” Izuku asks, blinking like he can’t quite comprehend what he’s seeing and hearing. His voice is slightly choked, and he has to clear his throat when he is done.
“Yeah,” you say. “Now we all kind of match.”
His eyes flutter rapidly, mouth hanging slightly ajar. Pink blooms on his cheeks moments later, and his eyes glisten slightly. Izuku coughs, turning his face away.
Shoto surprises you by taking two long strides forward, tilting the collar in your hold with his finger and giving it a shrewd once-over.
“It’s pretty,” he rasps, mismatched gaze flitting between the items in your hold, Izuku’s, and his own. His ears lean backwards, adam’s apple bobbing. The low timbre of his voice as it escapes has you fighting a shudder. “They all kind of look like pretty necklaces.”
“They do,” you agree. You begin to worry that your purchase might have had the opposite effect than you intended. Right when you’re about to speak up and offer a hasty apology, Shoto surprises you with a soft laugh. His finger lifts and brushes along the column of your neck, a smile gracing his features.
“It’ll look good,” he says simply. He bites his lip, taking a step back. There is something soft about the curve of his eyes. “Thanks, Yona.”
Contentment bubbles in your chest as Izuku returns his gaze to you and hastily nods his agreement. All but throwing his own collar to the side, he darts forward with a smile and outstretched hands. “Here, let me help you put it on. They have a bit of a trick to the clasp.”
You feel a lot better about the situation now, with these two flitting about behind you and attempting to hook the choker properly. All things considered, the day definitely could have gone a lot worse.
//
There atmosphere in the home from that day has been nothing short of peaceful and content. They had already been warming up to you gradually, but now you feel like you’ve earned a decent portion of trust. You haven’t taken off the collar at all, and the two of them (contrary to every single one of your expectations) have done the same. In fact, you’d actually be inclined to describe the way they wear them as though they’re proudly showing off a designer shirt, or couture bag. Odd, but not unwelcome. They’re settled, comfortable, and so long as they’re happy you’re pretty happy with yourself, too.
All good things tend to come to an end, but in your instance it’s not an actual end — actually, it’s more like a complete change of pace.
It’s a simple incident that spurs the change, something that could have been easily avoided if you were anyone but, well, you. As it happens, you are indeed you, and so it is somewhat unavoidable.
You’ve taken to resuming your old exercise schedule, and this includes the occasional morning run. The two hybrids aren’t always awake when you leave (they were the first time, but that’s because you swear Shoto zoomed out of bed thinking there was an intruder when you tried to leave quietly) but they tend to rouse when you return. Today, they are still in various stages of waking up and have yet to leave their room.
When you return you make a beeline for your en-suite, hot, sweaty and probably stinky. You don’t like swimming around in your own sweat, and so tend to always go for a shower as soon as you come home. You peel your activewear from your skin, stepping out of the fabric and into a towel just for the time being. Your hair is already up and out of the way, and the collar is waterproof, so all that’s left is to turn the water on and let it warm up.
You might be overheated, but you’re not about to take an ice shower. You’re only a little bit crazy.
You have to lean in to turn the tap on, and brace your hand on the frame of the door to do so. This, as it turns out, is your fatal mistake.
Not wanting the heat to escape as the water warms but for some reason not wanting to remove your hand either, you swing the door gently closed. It does not close gently. In fact, one could say it slammed shut.
Right on your fingers, in the place where your nails are.
“OW! Mother of–“
A string of curses fit for a sailor are flung into the air, the shower door flinging shut with a huge bang as you whip you hand away and out of the danger zone. You’ll live, but it hurts like a bitch right now, so at what cost? Your poor fingers. You hate it when this happens – it’s always on the spot near the nails that hurts the most. This is bullshit!
Thankfully your sweaty self doesn’t slip on anything, and you’re left standing in a towel and examining your fingers for any broken skin as steam begins to leak beyond the shower stall. For a moment, you forget that you don’t actually live alone anymore.
When the door suddenly bursts open, you are abruptly reminded that you now live with not one, but two other people, whose hearing is nothing short of exceptional.
“Yona!” Izuku’s eyes are wild with a mixture of fear, concern, and alarm. Shoto is right beside him, mismatched hues immediately sweeping the room for any dangers. It would be funny if it were any other situation except this one. Immediately, your whole body grows hot and your cheeks burn – in perfect synchronicity, the two hybrids inhale and their eyes narrow on you. Immediately afterwards, said eyes widen and they both erupt into a violent blush.
Izuku slaps a hand over his eyes, ears ramrod straight atop his head. His voice shakes slightly as he speaks. “I’m so sorry! Are-- are you okay though? I’m so sorry, we completely just--”
Shoto’s eyes are glued to the ceiling, head tilted back like he is beseeching the heavens for strength.
“We heard a bang and you yelling,” he says, voice thick and strained. His face is a few shades from the vibrancy of his hair. “Thought something happened… Sorry.”
“I just, uh… I jammed my fingers,” you fluster, shaking your fingers out. Your other hand flies to grab the towel when it begins to drop. “Sorry for alarming you. It just, um, really hurt. Yeah.”
Silence accompanies the steam beginning to fill the room, an odd tension weaving between the three of you. After a few beats, Shoto swallows and grips Izuku by the shirt sleeve.
“Um, we will be going now. Try not to jam them again. Sorry.”
He then turns on his heel in a single motion, not a glance spared your way, and power-walks out of the room with his smaller companion in tow. Izuku stumbles, hand still covering his eyes.
“Sorry again! Sorry!”
Your bedroom door slams shut, announcing their departure from your quarters.
Well, if you weren’t lightheaded from the heat before then you certainly are now.

Katsuki Bakugo wasn’t a fundamentally nervous person. Sure, even as a Pro Hero in the public spotlight under constant scrutiny and dissection by media outlets and fans alike he experienced a normal amount of anxious awareness, but he wasn’t nervous – not like he is now, with his right leg jumping up and down rapidly, rubber-bottom boot creating a soft squeak that filled up the sterile room of the Musutafu Hero Recuperation Facility. It had been just over a month since the incident that gave him nightmares and left him with such severe hearing damage that he was currently unable to perform even basic hero duties for his agency – which is why he is sat where he is now, waiting. Hoping the next steps are what could get him back out into the city on normal duty than having his medical leave extended.
He was losing his mind being left to himself and his thoughts each day, being told by doctors he needed to be still, and take is easy, and he was only losing his patience each subsequent doctor’s appointment that left him no closer to returning to Pro Hero work.
“Tch,” the blonde ground his teeth as the indignant noise stuck in his throat; he swallowed it down with a harsh gulp. His ears were ringing when the two doctors walked in, eyes unfocused as the room and people in front of him blurred in and out of clarity, everything around him sounded like it was underwater, and he hated it.
“Mr. Bakugo,” the doctor continued, Katsuki refocusing his attention on the man’s words, annoyed and thinking that Mr. Bakugo is my old man, not me... “we have some support specialists working with the latest auditory data set we took from you and they are getting closer to having a solution to get your hearing back to where it was before, and keep it there – even possibly making it better if all goes to plan.”
“In the meantime, it is recommended you follow the strict guidelines for allowing your body to heal itself naturally,” the other spoke. “You need to make sure you’re not exceeding the maximum limit for minimal exertion we’ve placed on your physical activity, so you have a better chance of getting back to your pre-incident status.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Katsuki sighed out, tired of hearing this same speech each visit. “Don’t overdo it, give my damn body time to heal – I got it.” The two doctors observed Katsuki with cautious eyes, but simply nodded their acceptance of his understanding. It was as good as it was going to get with him.
“Another suggestion,” one of the two added. “We have provided you with an email detailing a program we’d like you to consider – your colleague Red Riot actually participates and could be a good resource for you if you have any questions about it.”
“Please take a look when you have a moment and consider this a strong suggestion for helping you progress further in your treatment,” Katsuki eyed the two, irritated at the vagueness of the conversation, but swallowed down his disagreement and simply nodded.
“Yeah sure,” his chair slid back with a jarring scrape as he stood, moving toward the door to leave, “I’ll read your damn email, but I want progress updates from the support nerds.” He didn’t wait to hear their reply as he pushed through the door and hurried down the hall. He hated hospitals, hated the itch of memory in the back of his mind at the sterilized smell that gave him goosebumps and had him picking up the pace to rush out the side exit before heading to the sidewalk to wait for his friend to come get him after he shot him a text that he was all wrapped up. Another annoying outcome from the accident and the resulting toll on his body – he couldn’t drive himself as it was deemed too unsafe for him.
Bullshit.
“Hey Bakubro!” Katsuki’s eyes snapped toward the boisterous voice, seeing his red-headed friend waving his arm out the passenger window of his car. Katsuki ripped the door open and sunk into the passenger seat, Kirishima avoided asking how this appointment went the second he saw Katsuki’s demeanor. The two men drove in silence on the way to Katsuki’s apartment when the silence was cut.
“Doctors mentioned an email they sent me about this program,” Katsuki tested the water, being unsure what the program his doctors suggested he partake in he wasn’t sure if it was good to bring up with Kirishima at this moment. “They mentioned you’ve taken part in it before... Was curious what it’s all about,” Katsuki wouldn’t add the unspoken because I trust your opinion, but he knew Kirishima knew him and his nuances better than anyone since they’ve been side by side since UA.
“Program...?” Kirishima wracked his brain for a few minutes until it clicked.
The Hybrid Rehabilitation Foster Program.
A program that matches people with hybrids who have been rescued from inhumane circumstances with a person who needs support in their healing journey, and who is believed will benefit from focusing more on rehabilitating another which has been shown to have equally beneficial results with the healing person themselves. Kirishima had first taken part in the program after he was put on medical leave due to a villain fight that nearly left him dead – his body and his mind took almost a full year to heal, and he nearly gave up entirely. On Pro Hero work, on himself... on life. His doctors had mentioned the program and Kirishima wasn’t sure at first – how would he be able to provide a good home to someone who needed stability and support when he could barely pull himself out of bed? He got matched with a wolf hybrid, TetsuTetsu, who had been rescued from an underground fighting ring, having to kill other hybrids just to be able to get locked in a cage alive for another day. TetsuTetsu was surprisingly positive and open for someone who had gone through what he did, but he still had issues – Kirishima slowly helped break him of his more undesirable reactivity and in return TetsuTetsu gave Kirishima a reason to get up every day, make food, go for walks... talk about things that weighed on him, and before he knew it, he was making strides rebuilding his strength with his new training partner. Kirishima still had TetsuTetsu living with him, and Katsuki had met him several times now, but Kirishima never divulged how their relationship came to be – just alluded to him adopting a hybrid in need.
“Yeah! If it’s the one I’m thinking about it’s a pretty great program,” Kirishima finally spoke. “It’s a rehabilitation program for hybrids who were rescued from bad situations. They place them with a person who they feel would benefit from having something to care for while working on their own journey too.”
“Tch,” Katsuki snorted out, “sounds like a pain in the ass waste of time.”
“It’s how I adopted TetsuTetsu,” Kirishima stated out loud for the first time to his friend. Katsuki noted the stiff body language from his friend, knuckles white as they gripped the steering wheel. “When I was out on leave for that year after...” Kirishima couldn’t finish the thought, the memory still a sore spot. “I was out on leave, and it got bad dude. I really came close to just giving up.” Katsuki had seen his friend in a lot of lights, weak and strong – but Kirishima never revealed what happened after that incident that left him injured when he was on leave for that year. Never thought for a second his life came so close to not having that shitty red hair and sharky smile in it, never thought he’d ever have that brotherhood bond ripped from him. Katsuki swallowed hard, the lump in his throat the size of a boulder.
“That bad, huh?” Kirishima just flashed a half-smile, watching his friend shift uncomfortably in the seat.
“Yeah,” Kirishima sighed, “it got pretty bad. I was against the idea at first, not thinking I could take care of someone when I couldn’t do it myself but it’s amazing how your mind overrides itself to keep going for someone else... and having TetsuTetsu around really helped me get back on track to be back where I am now.”
Katsuki had been chewing on the inside of his cheek, eyes narrowed into a concentrated death stare before he noticed that they were parked in front of his apartment building. “I do like that annoying rockhead,” Katsuki finally said. Kirishima just laughed and gave a gentle punch to his friend’s shoulder.
“Just think about it dude,” Kirishima smiled, seeing the cogs turning in Bakugo’s head. “They provide a link to the rescue sight so you can see some of the hybrids they have in their facility right now – and look into next steps if you end up going that route...” Bakugo had stepped out of the car listening to his friends, and before shutting the door with a quick Later, dude Kirishima added - “it’s worth it Bakugo.”
Slam.
Kirishima just laughed, watching Bakugo enter his building before pulling away to head back home. Intending to text Bakugo later to see where his head is at and see if he wants to talk more in depth about the program.
Bakugo made his way up to his apartment – opening the door and stepping into the genkan to slip out of his boots and into his bright crimson and black Red Riot house slippers – a joke gift from his friend but functional enough that Bakugo didn’t mind replacing his old ones with them.  He’d never outwardly admit it but he had a love for sentimentality even when it made him uncomfortable, and Kirishima always had such a shit eating grin on his face when he came over to Bakugo’s house and saw them still being used.
Bakugo’s apartment was wide open, a minimalistic space with deep chocolate colored wood laminate flooring and a traditional shoji style wall, some actual shoji, and some just styled in a more traditional way with wallpaper and wood accents. The whole living room wall facing out toward Musutafu was made up of large windows that lead to a fairly decently sized balcony with a bonfire and patio set, and down a short hallway was the spare room that currently housed his office where he could complete some more of the menial work from home, and a pull-out couch for guests. His bedroom was an equally large, open space but housed a King-sized bed with plush comforters and pillows, a wall dedicated to All Might memorabilia he collected since he was a child and was connected to a luxury bathroom with a deep tub and natural rock wall shower that doubled as a steam room.
Bakugo took his time getting showered, changed into loungewear and set to work through some of his most recent light work assignments, and finally his emails where one caught his eye immediately.

Bakugo stared at his computer screen for the longest time before deciding to click on the hyperlink that led him to the rescue facilities website. He was on autopilot as he filled out all of the personal information, required questions (both information-gathering and personal) and even wrote in his concerns in a concise manner in a provided box for additional comments before hitting submit and staring as the screen buffered with a loading wheel until it finally read ‘Thank you! A member of our staff will be contacting you shortly to confirm your appointment date!’ He didn’t know why he easily accepted this opportunity despite his growing hesitation, again unsure that he could or should be seeking to take care of something else when he could barely manage to care about himself beyond pushing himself into getting back to his normal Hero work... but a nagging feeling at the back of his mind told him this was something worth checking out.
“Hell, if shitty Broomhead can do this program then so can I,” he finally said, shutting his laptop and heading toward his bedroom to sleep.
Underneath the plush covers, in the darkness of his room, Bakugo drifted off into a dream of what awaited him upon meeting a hybrid.
