“Helena? Helena?!” There were three things that Seraphina did NOT fuck with. Dirt. Minorities. And haunted houses. And yet somehow Helena had gotten her standing in at least THREE fields. Had loosened her stance on minorities. (Miraculously -- Considering all the ways Alex only made her HATE THEM MORE.) And now here they fucking were. And of course, Helena had ducked out nigh-on IMMEDIATELY. Slipping into the dark. And hopefully NOT dying. (God she hoped Helena wasn’t dead...) “HELENA!?” Careful steps echoed through the halls only covered by the mechanical rumblings of various TRAPS & TRICKS. Each one drawing out a little JUMP. Making her evermore SKITTERY. And slowing her progress to a CRAWL. She hoped to God she could find Helena-- “ROOGLEGAHRAH!” The scream that penetrated the halls in that one moment was SURE to pierce the hides of even the most steely of house-goers. But none would jump out of their flesh anywhere near as much as Seraphina just had. And as for Helena...

Seraphina hadn’t even REGISTERED it was Helena until it was too late. Hand clapped against cheek with all her greatest might. And the pang of guilt, and stream of APOLOGIES -- Albeit coated in ways they could SHARE the blame. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know it was you! And it was dark! And you jumped out and scared me! And I just...” No way her hand wasn’t going to LEAVE A MARK.

she strips her leather jacket off and tosses it into an empty chair before settling herself down on the couch. earth, which was once her home, has once again attracted a threat. or possible threat. shield has a way with wanting to keep the world wide panic down, so nothing is certain until it’s reached ground zero. which too carol is a bunch of crap. why not eliminate the threat before it enters the atmosphere?

but they have their scientist and researchers and they will know if it’s a threat or not, but so far they’ve came up with nothing. yet carol is being stationed to sit and be still ( only because nick asked of course ) wasting time as she watches the lives of the people she hardly know unravel before her eyes. 

the unspoken words and longing looks and snide glances from everyone is giving her a migraine. she sighs deeply and leans her head back against the couch.

so remember when I said Sometimes I Just Want to Angst My Muses...yeah so I need an exes dynamic where they used to be secret? or at least on-the-downlow lovers who chose to separate (maybe it’s a one-sided decision maybe it’s mutual idk I’m flexible) because their circumstances or duty demands it or because they Can’t Live Like This Anymore, even though their feelings say they don’t want to. Just a dynamic where one Puts This Love Second Place on their list of priorities and the other person Gets It but Doesn’t Want to Live Like That, and either or both were like “what if we didn’t do this anymore.” because there’s nothing to do about it other than stop seeing each other. They’re Obviously Hurt And Bitter And Unhappy About it (and they’re valid to be honestly), but have to act normally around each other / Some Type of Way Around Each other, idk, mostly I’m here for the “oh, i’m seeing you 20 years down the line at your wedding, looks like you got the life you wanted” vibes. The knows this person so well but? perhaps not anymore?/can’t show it in public, have to pretend to be strangers. Vibes.
