Good girls

Onze labrador meiden zijn ‘Good Girls’ met hoofdletters. Het is nog steeds een cadeautje om iedere dag mijn leven met hen te delen.

Zelfs de kleinste meid Pommetje-horle-piep, is een echte Good Girl aan het worden. Ze komt als een kanon aangesjeesd als ze buiten geroepen wordt en doordat ze zo’n aanhankelijk blij ei is vergeef je haar puberstreken. Als je met je 9 maanden je eigen ijsbeer knuffel onthoofd of op de bank springt als we er niet zijn dan valt het mee toch?!

Inmiddels zijn we terug in Nederland en is de zomer voor ons in Frankrijk voorbij. In Frankrijk zijn ze Good Girls want daar zijn het de enige honden in ons dorp die niet blaffen, op de lange autorit op weg naar Nederland zijn het Good Girls want ze geven geen kik, en terug in ons piepkleine huisje ook want daar pakken ze de draad van hun leven probleemloos op. Alles is best en alles is goed wat hen betreft.

In Frankrijk hebben ze geleerd om tijdens de wandeling met de neus op de grond overheerlijke hertenkeutels of zwijnendrollen te vinden en de lekkernij op te eten. Ja, het zijn heuse stofzuigers! In Nederland zouden ze dit missen. Nederland is een schoon land en wild en de sporen ervan vind je niet in de Randstad. Althans, dat was mijn gedachte.

In de week van aankomst was het in Nederland erg warm. Daarom wilde ik m’n Good Girls tracteren op een uitje naar het hondenstrandje in Scheveningen. Samen met ome Frutsel de Norfolk terriër van dochterlief trokken we er op uit. Even later keek ik met lede ogen hoe Biba op het volgeladen strandje een groot stuk plastic met inhoud naar binnen werkte. Hap slik weg! Haar getrainde neus had deze tractatie heel snel in het zand weten te vinden. Wat een knappie he?!

Maar dit was foute boel. Niet lang hierna zat ik met Biba bij de spoedeisende hulp van de Dierenarts. Het stuk plastic moest eruit gebraakt worden en ze had hiervoor een prikje gekregen om de braakneiging op te wekken. Wat was ze misselijk en wat was ik opgelucht toen de boosdoener, een enorme plastic bal, eruit kwam. Haar darmen hadden het niet gered, nee Biba had dit voorval zeker niet overleefd. Ik was dankbaar dat ik het had gezien ondanks het feit dat ik het niet verwacht had op het ‘schone’ Nederlandse strand!

Maar onze grote Good Girl was de volgende ochtend weer volledig zichzelf en gelukkig hebben we op 14 september haar 3e verjaardag kunnen vieren. Een dag ervoor hebben we in Maastricht haar halfzusje Nova gezien en hebben 4 Good Girls heerlijk samen kunnen ravotten, wat werkelijk een genot was om te zien!

Je leven delen met 2 van die kanjers betekent voor mij Geluk. Bij het slechte familie nieuws van laatst hielpen ze me er doorheen en lieten ze me weer lachen. Ik zou niet zonder mijn Good Girls willen zijn!

Onze trouwe klant Mandy wist ons weer in te schakelen voor haar nieuwe troef Isadora v. Don Tango x Neostan. Deze knappe merrie is erg fijn opgeleid door Kim welke de eer nu gunt aan Mandy. Hiervoor was er uiteraard een passend zadel nodig. Het werd het allernieuwste model uit de Empire collectie. De Empire Aztec met een zeer zacht beenblok, zacht leder en een super pasvorm voor de rug van Isadora. De Empire Aztec is uitermate geschikt voor paarden met een hoge schoft welke een oplopende ruglijn hebben en veel ruimte rondom de schouders en het kussenkanaal behoeven. Het zadel bood Mandy alles was ze zocht, veel comfort door het zeer zachte comfortabele leer op de zit en wrongen. Maar ook kon ze fijn zitten op Isadora door het close contact model en de fijne kussens die heel mooi paste bij Isa. Want naast de zadelboom kiezen we ook altijd voor een passend kussen bij Empire teneinde een optimale pasvorm te garanderen. En door het unieke TreeClix systeem ook een zadel wat de komende veranderen bij kan houden. En daar bleef het niet bij want Mandy koos er meteen een luxe singel bij, monoriemen en JIN Air Safety stijgbeugels met als kers op de taart een heerlijke Fir-TEC dekje van Catago in de limited kleur “Raisin”. Ook knappe pup Kay en stoere Skip van tante Kim wilde graag op de foto. En eerlijk, die twee knappies geven de foto’s meteen sfeer! 🥰 Werderom bedankt lieve Mandy voor je eindeloze vertrouwen in ons! Door mijn samenwerking met @edixsaddles is er een “Edix Tudor Exclusive by Akash” tot stand gekomen. Deze worden in beperkte oplage vervaardigd met unieke verschillende opties welke ik zelf uitgekozen heb. Echte Limited Editions waarvan er maar 5 gemaakt worden in supersterk degelijk softleer. Echt voor die gene die uniek willen zijn is deze Tudor exclusief bij Akash Saddlery verkrijgbaar. Zo besloot Michelle voor haar prachtige PRE “Chayo” een zadelevaluatie af te spreken doordat ze wat problemen ondervond met haar oude zadel. Deze veroorzaakte helaas pijnlijke plekken daar het op vier punten helaas niet meer paste en ook niet meer passend gemaakt kon worden. Aanvankelijk had Michelle zich al georiënteerd te voren naar 2e hands zadels. Helaas zat daar niets passende tussen voor Chayo’s korte en vooral brede schoft aanzet en rug. De unieke Tudor Exclusive met “soft blue mouse” is door Mies en Chayo goed bevonden. Door het wisselbare kopijzer en softtree kunnen ze langer met dit zadel doen. Bij een “Exclusive by Akash” komt het zadel altijd met de Edix merino pad. Omdat er onder het softtree zadel altijd een extra drukverdeler met vilt inlay gebruikt dient te worden voor een optimale druk verdeling op de paardenrug. Deze twee knappies kunnen samen ongestoord gaat trainen en genieten van de heerlijke buiten ritten. Heel veel plezier en succes met je dikke “Edix Tudor Exclusive by Akash zadel” lieve Michelle! i know i said s3 is my favourite but that’s because i forgot i don’t really care for paris or qik - yup, that’s my daily unpopular opinion! i know this at least used to be like The fandom fave but i literally don’t care about this episode, and actually sometimes i actively dislike it for what it did to fandom re. martin but! that is not a point for this list. the point is: i love herc :)

I agree. HOWEVER, they don’t see these styles in the same light as us black people  because they can’t braid for shit over there LMAO. those braids they be having be messy as hell. the dreads are HORRIBLE. cornrows are HORRIBLE. you can barely see the parts. i wouldn’t wear their braids for an “elegant” comeback either. they can’t braid well at all.

us black people know the ins and outs of our styles. we know that we can use the cleo “set it off” cornrows for a bad ass, edgier look versus some beautiful ghana braids. or beautiful long box braids with the golden clips and hair jewelry. even dreads. we have different styles. you can have rough, knappy looking dreads or really neat and clean ones. they only know and see the rough, edgy street hip hop styles. they don’t know how versatile it can get.

if they would hire more black hair stylists who can ACTUALLY BRAID, i feel like they would be more open to wearing these styles for a comeback.
