Well, Fitz is canonically strong- as seen in Flashback when he was training with Grizel. It also depends if they're using skills like telekinesis and outward channeling. If they are using skills like these, Sophie and Fitz being Cognates are definitely advantaged, and Fitz is pretty strong anyways. Kesler taught Dex skills like this when Dex was young, however, so Dex would definitely be experienced in using them and possibly having a slight advantage over Sophie + Fitz, although there's a high likelihood that he and Keefe will lose anyways. Since, I'm not sure (I haven't read the books in a while) if we've got a really strong canon Keefe. We have lines like 'wanna check out my abs, Foster?' (Not the exact line) This could imply that Keefe does have abs, which would mean he works out (I think it may have been canonically confirmed that he works out? It might only be Fitz don't count me on i) Now for Sophie. I think with enough determination, she would be able to fight pretty well- but against her friends? Not so sure about that, since there's no way she's want to hurt them. But anyways, Sophie is definitely capable enough to fight well, which is why I think FITZ AND SOPHIE would win against KEEFE AND DEX.

Once again, Fitz is canonically strong. Biana, however, also has her Vanisher ability, which gives her an advantage over Fitz. I'm not sure how strong Biana is canonically, but I think that she'd be pretty fit, judging by how well worked out Fitz is. It's likely that Biana would be influenced by him, so she might work out or something. (maybe her constantly running away from Woltzer is good exercise haha /j) I don't think they'd necessarily want to fight each other, but with the right determination, they would. Anyways, Biana seems to be really sneaky, while Fitz often seems to face situations more head-on. I honestly think they both have equal chances of winning the fight, with Fitz most-likely being stronger, and Biana having the chance to disappear and sneak up on him. Abilities not allowed, however? Fitz probably wins. Even with skills, I think it was confirmed that Fitz was super good at levitating? But it isn't confirmed how talented Fitz + Biana are with other skills like channeling and stuff. So, overall, FITZ AND BIANA probably have an equal chance.

Now, for the last one, Fitz and Keefe. I think this would be a fairer fight when it comes to abilities + skills, since neither of them are necessarily more advanced than the other when it comes to that. (Telepath + Empath probably won't do much, since Fitz has to focus to read minds, and reading emotions won't really do much for Keefe.) Like I previously said, Fitz is pretty good when it comes to levitation, but not many other skills. So that won't really matter in this fight. Physical strength will be the main judge for this fight. As I already have said SEVERAL TIMES, Fitz is canonically strong. We have that scene in Flashback where he is training with Grizel (he does something like a handstand, does a pushup while in that handstand, and flips back up. And he was expected to do 50 of those. And Grizel said that he did 100 of them last time.) where we can see that Fitz is DEFINITELY REALLY STRONG. And (I may be wrong, I often get fanfiction and canon mixed up) Fitz gets in his daily exercise by going on a jog around the Everglen estate every once in a while? Now, with Keefe. He did win a fight against Dimitar, which is pretty impressive. But I believe a lot of that relied on levitation? (So Keefe is most likely good at levitation as well.) This gives us clues that Keefe is pretty physically strong, unlike Sophie, Biana and Dex, where we don’t have much canon evidence about how physically strong they are. All in all, Keefe and Fitz are both very strong and this would make for a pretty fair fight, even if abilities and skills are being used. I do think, though, that we have more canon evidence that Fitz is physically strong (since that handstand exercise would be EXTREMELY hard on the body) so he’s probably stronger than Keefe. This means that FITZ would most likely win the fight. I do understand that Fitz has won basically every fight here (tied with Biana for the 2nd one ofc) and I’m not trying to be biased, but he is really canonically strong. We have more canon evidence for his physical strength than most of these other characters.

Tl;dr: 1- Fitz/Sophie 2- Fitz and Biana have equal chances 3- Fitz. This is because Fitz is canonically strong, even without his abilities/skills. We have more evidence about physically strong Fitz than any of the other characters (excluding some of the adults) and this isn’t supposed to be biased or anything.

I HATE and I mean HATE THIS REDDIT ONG homophobia has tow down a bit but ugh…this sub Reddit….is depressing as hell

Like LIKEEEEE uh there’s a lot of things I dislike that I’m going to explain here I’ll try not to make it long but I’m a yapper SOO no promises (also there will be so many spelling mistakes erm)

Ok First things first

They hate the books like genuinely hate it, it’s wild. And not in the way we’re there just criticizing like I’ve seen on here. I’ve seen some very good points and discussions that have been overall respectful and you can tell they still enjoy the books even with the criticism. Like I’ve eaten up every book but still had the things I like to nitpick. But on the sub Reddit…it’s such a different vibe man.. like they find it childish (crazy it’s almost like it was made for 12 year old ) and just dislike every book except like the first. They constantly talk about how much they think the newer suck. They hate the plot and most of it writing. At this point don’t read it????? You clearly do not enjoy the books why are you here???

And the worst part is there are a lot of younger kids on there then here.. like these are kids who want to find a space to talk about there favorite books and your just complaining all the time…UUGHHHGBHBHH

Now I’ve seen criticism of Sophie on here before! It’s normal! But this is actually hate like…Ong why

Let’s just start of with the fact the if you go on there now I guarantee if you scroll down a bit you will find a post hating on Sophie. It’s all the same stuff to “I miss the old Sophie! She’s such a brat now!” She’s so annoying she doesn’t deserve Keefe!” “I hate how rude she is in stellarlune !” That pretty basic and toning  it down a lot . But you get the idea it’s that all the time with a few more things obviously. They think she’s a Mary sue they hate how many powers she’s has they call her weak and are annoyed with the fact that she can’t ever beat the neverseen (it’s almost like she 15 with very little training on how to fight and no one ever offers except until FLASHBACK. when they finally are like hmm maybe we should teach her how to defend herself! REALLY NOW? AFTER ALL THIS TIME??) they give very very little grace.

But it keeps going now there is hate for fitz…but I feel like the hate for Sophie is worse.

That brings us to our next part

A litte while back I saw post talking about sofitz break up in legacy and well…they blamed it all on Sophie!!! And yes it’s there opinion but when a whole sub Reddit is in favor of the man more then the woman……….I just thinks it’s weird and maybe this isn’t very misogynistic

But! I’ve seen Keefe lover on There ranting about how bad sophie is for Keefe and how much they hate the idea of them together. I’ve seen multiple post loving both of those boy and ragging on Sophie they praise the boys and hate her it’s it’s so…ANNOYING holy crap I hate it. It feels so misogynistic the way they treat those two boys with so much love and affection even though Sophie shows sighs of similar behavior as both of them BUT NOOOOO she’s annoying bratty B and deserve nothing not like my Keefe who deserves the world……….

Has anyone ever been to the Reddit side of the fandom? I was there recently and the comments I see tend to be so narrow minded— and it seems like it’s where a lot of the cis het male kotlc fans go (not to say that it’s bad for them to like kotlc— their opinions are just a little scary). I’m thinking of transferring over to tumblr because of the opinions on there though. But I was wondering if you or anyone knew how common it was?

Some of us are aware of the reddit fandom, but as far as i know very few people have ever actually gone themselves--and if it was, it was to look at it once because they'd just discovered it existed and were curious about the cautionary tales they'd heard.

To my knowledge there is very little overlap, so if you're looking to get away from whatever opinions/environment is over there, I'm fairly certain you'll find something more amenable here

Side rant: Argument I had on TikTok/Reddit

ARGHHHHH. BARK BARK BARK!!!!

How many times do I have to explain to people that I don’t HATE Fitz Vacker?! Do I hate him sometimes? YES. But that does not mean I hate him entirely. NO! I have broken down his character for years (since I was in middle school). I have an entire google doc with every character in kotlc with a deep understanding explanation of everyone’s lore and struggles. You are not going to look at me in my AUTISTIC EYES and tell me I hate him because he’s a meanie face to Sophie and that’s it. I have explained on multiple platforms that I don’t like Fitz. And I don’t hate him because of the shipping nonsense. I have never liked this man. EVER. Since book one I didn’t really like him and in book two it confirmed why.

My dislike for Fitz is more than his relationship with Sophie. And the mischaracterization I see people do with him is even worse. Fitz is just not a character I would like. But that does not mean I hate everything he does and stand for. Does he crash out? Yes. Is he an asshole sometimes? Yes. Is he sometimes self centered and only focuses on his own struggles sometimes when the situation is bigger than him? Yes. But he’s also a good guy (when he’s not crashing out). He handled the Dex situation well when Dex explained to him that he didn’t fucking like him. He cares about not only his family but his friends. He’s loyal to who he sticks with. He’s protective. Majority of his anger issues is because he doesn’t want himself to be hurt or other people. That is something I have observed by reading the series and ripping it apart.

I don’t like Fitz but that doesn’t mean I don’t respect him as a character and a person. The only time I can say I crashed out over his character was in Exile and Legacy (mostly Legacy). I don’t know what crack cocaine Shannon put him on but that was not Fitz. It was his evil twin brother or something. People might disagree with me for saying that but i genuinely don’t feel like Fitz would have crashed out THAT bad. Do I believe he would have crashed out? Yes. But he was diabolical in Legacy. He was so bad my friend who is Fitz’s NUMBER ONE SUPPORTER had to look to the left and to the right. She didn’t even know how to begin defending him and I’m glad I wasn’t her because I didn’t know where to start either.

Blame his teenager hormones or whatever you want to say to justify his actions. I think he was going crazy in Legacy for NO REASON. I felt like I was reading an elf version of Hamlet and he was about to make Sophie the next Ophelia. The whole Alvar thing fine okay, I can see why he would be upset. But the matchmaking bullshit? Don’t piss me off. I just don’t understand why that was a problem in the moment. Isn’t matchmaking for MARRIAGE?! You can date whoever you want. It’s who you marry that matters to the system. I don’t get why matchmaking was so important at the time because THEYRE CHILDREN! They literally just STARTED dating. Unless Fitz was under the impression that once they got together (dating wise) that Sophie was the one and he was going to marry her. But I feel like that’s a discussion people HAVE with their partners during their relationships if NOT BEFORE! I just wish I knew what was going on in his head because I have tried to understand his nonsense in that book and I could only level with 2/6 of it.

Anyway that’s how I feel about Fitz again. He’s a goofy guy with desperate need of a rage room and a life time therapy session. All the elves need it. Jesus Christ they make me want to pop a Xanax.
