A bit of music that you have heard literally hundreds of times in every cheap sci-fi and horror you can name. Bet you didn't know it was an actual song with an actual name.
This is "Saw Theme" composed by William Trytel.

If you love the classic MST3K short Progress Island U.S.A. and you also happen to love 70’s library music cues (that would be me) then you are in luck. I made a playlist of all of the music used in the film.

2. ‘Top Brass', by Matt Berry.
Put aside the Matt Berry you’ve seen on TV, all brash arrogance and stilted falsetto; his real creativity can be found in his music.
Top Brass is Berry’s nod towards library music, the vast treasure troves of music that could be licenced and used by pretty much anybody for incidental or main music in TV or film. Not only has Berry captured the essence of seventies television, but he has also composed and performed an entire library in his ‘Simplicity’ album. Everything is published by arguably one of the greatest names in the scene, KPM Music.
That’s living the dream.
‘Top Brass’ is the lead track; there’s so much to love here. The tiny rhythm sets the scene, the layers of introduction before the bass arrives, the mic drop moments where everything physically freezes before snapping back to the beat. I can’t decide if it's the opening theme to a Luxemburg City detective drama, a revived Sportsnight, or a sitcom set in the Royal Albert Hall’s orchestra pit
that’s what the delightful mix of library music, the listener’s imagination, and the composer's inventiveness can offer.
Top Brass is a niche song on a niche record label for a niche subject. And it’s fabulous.
More on this and the songs in my yearly favourites can be found at https://tinyurl.com/2023x12.

"Neuzierat" 6-person coffee service by KPM Berlin (Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur)
KPM or the Royal Porcelain Factory in Berlin, a historically significant and still leading porcelain manufacturer, was originally founded in 1763 by Frederick II of Prussia, known as Frederick the Great.
"Neuzierat" was designed in 1784 for Frederick the Great specifically to incorporate his favorite shade of blue, and it was his favorite dinner service (according to Wikipedia).

Acquital by David Lindup was a library music track often used in low budget movies when someone was trying to crack a safe or sneak past a security guard.
It was also used as the opening music in the Twilight People (1972)
