Thank you so much!!! I'm always glad to hear stuff like this since it provides additional motivation to complete my vast imagination for this archive. Since I am neurodivergent, though, my large scale vision for this blog is to eventually diverge from ENHYPEN after I've added as much as I can, since I don't plan on ever being an active update account. However, I'm planning on also making a banging organization system so people who followed for ENHYPEN can find everything super easily even when that eventual divergence happens. I'll also periodically add more ENHYPEN content just to make sure my page stays relatively up to date and accurate for the ENGENEs who use it!

i don't understand the wild and weird hate against sol (or even remotely comparing him to tong) but here we are, anon. like if joe out right saying sol is a good person can't convince ya'll... idk why you're asking me?

anyway... you asked for my thoughts and opinions, so you shall receive.

sol is just a really interesting dude to me. he's just some guy that i think is really neat. he's a thai kpop idol and FAMOUS famous but he isn't like tong about it. he's kind and just a really good-hearted person. he's the sunny type, cheerful, caring, and loyal to his friends. like joe, sol is a sunflower in the toxic showbiz world msi is set in.

(tbh i see him and ming, who is also a fascinating character, as kind of two sides of the same "rich and famous" coin. ming is cold, aloof, calculating with walls as high as elon crust's ego is inflated. and then there is sol, open and kind-hearted. which is exactly why he and joe hit it off. funny though, ming and sol are petty but like on completely opposite ends of the petty spectrum.)

after lovingly bugging @zhouxiangs for novel spoilers i really wished the series had touched more on sol and joe's history instead of just a few throwaway lines here and there because sol's story ;3; my smol bean of a son. (and this is where media literacy and nuance comes in :D but y'all barely have any of that.)

joe and sol were very close . they ate, trained, and slept (sleeping type of slept lol) together. they did everything together. and then sol found out joe was gay (in the novel sol was also struggling with his sexuality) and then joe confessed to sol. joe liked sol first (not this weird warped reality y'all are living in where sol has been obsessing over joe). but anyway, sol was young and scared and dumb. he was afraid of being taken advantage of and also of his own feelings for joe and he ran away. joe got over it and never held it against him.

while in korea, it seemed that sol struggled to connect with people and went through some tough times as a trainee (i'm quoting from porsche's interview) and he realized his true feelings for joe so when he had the chance to return to thailand he took it and he sought out joe to reconnect. as a friend, as more.

was he supposed to have some sort of psychic link with joe that he was already seeing someone? obviously not. but when joe made it clear he liked ming, sol backed off romantically. he didn't back off as a friend though. (idk about y'all friendless gremlins but if one of my close friends was in the situationship from hell that joe was in... i'd also try and make them see reason, open their eyes. like sol once having feelings for joe does not diminish his friendship with joe. at all. (yes the scene of joe and sol in the van in ep 6 means everything to me. joe and sol were friends, brothers even. and that scene showed it.)

fyi, novel sol recognized joe too :D

ANYWAY, it was interesting to see the change in sol after joe's death. he isn't his usual cheerful self, but he's still kind and polite if a bit more reserved. and i for one love the cattiness with ming he has going on? LEAVE MING ALONE i see y'all shouting but me I WANT HIM TO PUNCH MING IN THE NUTS ONCE (if y'all can project, so can i) like ming deserves to catch a bit of shit from sol (his 'khun chai ming' sent meeee), since his and tong's bullshit directly contributed to the death of his best friend.

is sol perfect? no. (the fight with ming where joe got hurt. or the phone call scene that resulted in joe effectively being cut out of sol's life. again.) but are any of these characters perfect? absolutely not.

sol though is strangely villainized and for what? because he's trying to help and protect his friend (and is maybe being snotty with ming but... deserved tbh lol)? because he might be feeling a little righteous and fafo with the guy who took his friend away from him? because he once had feelings for joe but then redirected them into being a decent human and a good friend?

From what I've seen, the posts are vague and indirect enough to be about anything - everyone can use them to see/project what they want.

The other anon who asked about him searching himself on social media - I agree that he probably realized that people are calling out the favoritism and his connection with the heads of the company. I think that's why he posted - he can be seen as not being a puppet and standing up, having his own thoughts when in reality it was a nothing burger statement and he's already reaping the benefits of it.

NJ fans thanking him and anti hybe fans using it for their own benefits - meanwhile everything is status quo with him and Hybe.

If he wanted people to not view him as a puppet he would’ve acted a lot earlier, not waited more than a year for those accusations to take root before acting. So I don’t believe that him doing this was his way of undoing that.

Even if JK or any of BTS publicly took MHJ side explicitly, what would HYBE or Bang do? They’re currently sweating counting down the days for BTS to come back to bail their asses out of the debt that they’re in. Most they could do is grin and bear the media storm that it would bring. Yoongi was exhausted. His feet were dragging along the tile floors of the Hybe building, eyes blinking slowly as he tried to get his bearings after his international flight. The jet lag was kicking his ass, but his upcoming deadline for the project he was working on made him choose coming to the studio rather than passing out at home.  

Hearing two voices he wasn’t used to, he squinted down the hall, seeing Woozi laughing with someone outside of his studio door. Yoongi frowned, wondering what the producer from Seventeen was doing on the BTS floor. Woozi noticed Yoongi standing there with a confused expression on his face, giving his hyung a small head nod as a greeting.

“Hyung, what are you doing here? Are you looking for someone?” Woozi asked. Yoongi watched as the girl he was with turned to look at who Woozi was talking to.

“I, uh, guess I got off on the wrong floor,” Yoongi murmured, eyes never leaving the mysterious girl’s shocked expression as she stood frozen in place next to Woozi.

“Oh, well, maybe get some rest, hyung,” Woozi chuckled, opening his studio door for the girl to follow him inside. Yoongi took a step forward, his body moving before his mind could catch up. He didn’t want the girl to leave. He wanted to know her name, know her story. The door to Woozi’s studio closed.

Yoongi knew he had to see you again.

You couldn’t believe you had just seen him. Min Yoongi. In person. And you had stood there like an idiot, gaping at him. You just let Woozi talk to him and acted completely rude.

What an idiot, you thought to yourself, groaning.

“What’s wrong, Y/N?” Woozi asked, left ear covered by his headphones, right ear uncovered and able to listen to you groan in embarrassment.

“I cannot believe I didn’t say anything,” you said, falling on the couch in Woozi’s studio with a dramatic thump. “I have loved Yoongi for years, and the one time I get the chance to tell him how much he means to me and how much I love his music, and I blow it. Completely. I’m so embarrassed.”

Woozi laughed, opening a Coke Zero and handing it to you before opening his own can.

“Listen, if you really feel that badly, I’m sure I could introduce you to Yoongi-hyung another time,” Woozi reassured you.

“No, no, that would almost be worse. I don’t want everyone around here knowing I’m ARMY. Then they’re going to assume the only reason I became a stylist for Seventeen is to get close to BTS.”

You were hired by Hybe a few months ago, working exclusively with Seventeen. Once Woozi discovered that you were an undercover kpop fan, he started using you as a sample audience for songs he was working on. Unfortunately, Woozi also knew that he technically wasn’t your favorite producer in the Hybe building. That label was reserved for Min Yoongi and Min Yoongi only.

“Alright fine, you can stop with the dramatics—your secret is safe with me. Yoongi probably didn’t even notice you were acting weird.”

“Fine, fine, just play the song you wanted me to hear. Distract me, I’m begging you,” you groaned, leaning back on the sofa.

“Gladly,” Woozi said with a chuckle, pressing the space bar on his computer so you could hear what he was working on.

A couple of weeks later, you were still trying to forget the run-in with Yoongi every time you entered the Hybe building.

Woozi had texted you to meet him at his studio in the afternoon; despite it being your day off, you couldn’t say no to your friend. You rapped your knuckles on the door, not expecting Yoongi to open the door to the studio. You let out a little squeak, quickly dropping in a bow in front of him.

“Y/N, hey, this is Yoongi-hyung,” Woozi said nonchalantly, spinning back toward his desk in his chair.

“Um, it’s…it’s an honor, I mean, it’s so nice to meet you,” you stumbled on your words, trying not to embarrass yourself.

“It’s nice to meet you, too, Y/N,” Yoongi said, a shy smile on his face. You had to remember to keep breathing as you took in the man in front of you. His long, dark hair was tucked behind his ear, pale skin contrasting with his dark hoodie. Yoongi looked down at your hands; you were carrying two iced coffees for you and Woozi, hands trembling slightly with nerves.

“Oh, I’m so sorry, I would have gotten you something if I knew you were going to be here,” you apologized. You could tell Yoongi was trying not to laugh at your flustered state.

“No worries, please don’t be sorry,” he reassured you.

“Y/N, would you get in here please, and stop being weird?” Woozi said from his chair. You glared at the back of his head, annoyed with him for outing you like this.

Yoongi stepped to the side, letting you pass him to enter the studio. You put Woozi’s coffee down on his desk, unsure of what to do next.

“Woozi told me you’ve been giving him feedback on some of his songs,” Yoongi said, startling you slightly. You nodded, throat feeling incredibly dry and your mouth unable to form words all of a sudden. “I actually stopped by today to see if I could get your opinion on something I’ve been working on.”

“What?” you asked, surprised. Yoongi scratched the back of his neck nervously.

“I’m a bit stuck on a track, and he mentioned that you’re ARMY, actually. I was hoping for some help,” Yoongi explained.

“Did he?” you questioned, giving Woozi a pointed look. He held up both of his hands innocently.

“Hey, I’m just trying to help Yoongi-hyung out here,” Woozi said defensively.

“Sure you were,” you murmured to him, hoping Yoongi couldn’t hear. Based on the way he was trying—and failing—to look uninterested when you looked back up at him, you were pretty sure he could.

“Would you mind? I don’t mean to be a bother.”

“Of course, not a bother at all,” you reassured. “You know I’m not like a professional or anything, right? My opinion probably won’t be all that much help,” you joked.

“ARMY’s opinion is the opinion that matters the most, isn’t it?” Yoongi earnestly replied. You flushed under his gaze.

“Right. Of course.”

“Shall we?” Yoongi asked, holding the door open for you. You glanced back at Woozi; you made a mental note to kick his ass later for the knowing smirk that was painted across his face.

“Lead the way,” you said, following him.

Your stomach was filled with butterflies; you couldn’t believe this was happening to you.  

Little did you know that a few steps ahead of you, Min Yoongi’s heart was racing, anxious to get your thoughts on the song, nervous to be alone in a room with you, excited about the thought of getting to know you.

Glancing shyly at Yoongi in the elevator, you noticed the pink tinge of a blush on Yoongi’s cheeks. Maybe you wouldn’t yell at Woozi after all.

as an actor, jiwoong knows all about being constantly busy, so when you suddenly went radio silent to work on a secret project, he couldn't help feel curious about what had gotten you so busy. it was only when he heard the sentence in an interview, "oh and you know y/n l/n? the person who produced the title soundtrack for your new series?" did it make sense as to why you would lock yourself in your office for days at a time, unable to contact him often.

to say that jiwoong was shocked would be an understatement, but the shock was quickly replaced by pure pride, he couldn't believe he had such a hardworking and talented s/o. he definitely helps you get onto producing zb1's title track.

considering you had never been much of an instrument lover, it shocked has that you knew so much about music composition when he played a new piece on the violin that he had been working on for the last couple of weeks. so upon asking, he found that you had been producing songs every now and again for fun, liking the way that certain instruments and keys worked well together.

he was so impressed, falling even more in love with you, wondering how he had managed to bag such a badass babe.

hanbin had a feeling you were a producer, talking about how layers of tracks on songs blend together and being able to pinpoint where a new section of recordings had taken place when listening to a song in the car with him, but he decided to let you tell him in your own time, he didn't want to pressure you into telling him. he knew what it was like wanting to keep something big about you secret incase of people who wanted to abuse the information.

but when you did tell him, boy, did he give you the biggest, most warmest hug filled with many compliments and temple kisses. you both listened to all of the songs you had produced after that.

as an avid music listener, matthew had always wondered what it would be like to produce some songs, especially now that he would be debuting. it felt like such a cool accomplishment to be able to say you helped produce your own group's songs. so when he mentioned it in passing to you, and your face starting glowing when telling him how to get started and how to download certain softwares that would be most useful when being a beginner.

poor matthew had missed when you told him you were a producer when you first met each other, so he asked "how do you know so much about producing?" giggling you replied, "because its my job? matt, I told you this on our first date". *insert matthew surprised pikachu face*

"oh. I'm sorry I must have missed that. can we listen to the songs you've produced? wait no, let me guess them!"

taerae had his suspicions when listening to a song, where the producer tag sounded a bit too much like your voice, so the next time you both saw each other, he decided to play detective and put on one of the songs he thought you had produced.

the way your face glowed with pride when hearing that taerae liked the song you had produced enough to play it in front of you told him everything he needed to know. eventually, once the song finished, he asked the question, and when you nodded your head, taerae couldn't help but feel amazed, "wow, you're so cool do you know that y/n?", "you're even cooler taerae".

he definitely interrogated you when he talked to you on the phone later that night, jokingly pouting when you had to rush to tell him that you were under a contract not to tell anyone when helping produce the song, but your worries were quickly brushed away when he told you how much he loved you, and how much he loved the song as well.

you were one of the producers for 'say my name' on boys planet, so when he saw you in the room for recording the song, he was both equally shocked and amazed that you had been behind the catchy song he was performing to later that week.

he dragged you out into the corridor after recording the song's vocals, kissing your cheek lightly, holding your hand as he told you how gifted you were in music production.

imagine his surprise when you told him you were also producing the title track for when zb1 debuted after the final.

I love to see my biases get the BB 1s, but when one starts making that their goal, hmm that kind of disconnects me from them as an artist.

I won't say more. I just wish artists I stan placed more focus on the art. Let charts happen naturally.

You're blog isn't like the blind fandom, so I am saying this here.

It's not hard to see through things. Chapter 2 has been interesting so far. I am not making any opinions based of things that are happening, but if it becomes a pattern with the artist, well... that's a problem.

Anon, we both know who were're talking about, lol. I'm gonna use the names, for the sake of making it easier for me to write a response.

A few weeks ago, I was watching this documentary about Wham. Some light entertainment for me initially, but it did offer me the chance for a fresh perspective. I don't exactly remember the details, but they've reached a point in which George Michael wanted to have 4 songs to reach number 1 on some chart, the fourth being Last Christmas. He was a bit obsessed with this and he also wanted to be a bigger artist. In later archival interviews, Michael actually mentions it was his ego as an artist because he knew he could. And he did, he outgrew the boyish band and the situation was almost ideal because Andrew, his bandmate, also knew that. It also meant getting away from their carefully constructed image, the object of desire for teenagers and women everywhere. For George, it was also about stepping away from performing a specific type of heteronormativity that can be found in boy bands. It never crossed my mind while watching it that his ego is too big, or why is he so obsessed with the charts. Maybe because it was all in the past and I've seen what the future would hold for him. Or that when I heard him talk about what he wants to achieve and his inner struggle, there was sincerity there and also that drive that only someone really young can have when they believe they can do anything.

I've read Jungkook's Weverse interview and listened to what he had to say during the Seven promotions. And while there may be some comparisons to be made to how George Michael came across when talking about his musical career, there were also some differences.

I'm glad to see Jungkook being more confident. I remember some of the things he used to say in the past, about his self worth, a lack of confidence and meaning outside the group. That wasn't healthy. And to hear him now, especially on Suchwita, it's a 180° change. But in his case, there's a very fine line between being confident and becoming cocky. And that's not a good look. It's almost like he's trying to project an image of a new Jungkook but one that is still in the works and not all parts fit perfectly together. He's going through a transformation ever since the hiatus, which I expected. It was about having to adapt to a different pace, life after 10 years of being part of a group. Jungkook was always trying to find his identity and this single is only one step in that journey.

But that doesn't mean that I as a fan and as a person, have to like it. If it doesn't match with what I'm looking for in the artists that I'm interested in, then so be it. I will talk about it, but I'll also not follow that person's musical career anymore. If I don't like the artistic direction and I don't like this overconfident, slighly exaggerated bravado, then that's it.

It's also impossible to not make a comparison to Jimin. Not for some dick measuring contest (it's what pjms and jjks are doing), but because there is room and justification for it. Both are from the same kpop group, both have embarked on a solo career and both chose a more mainstream pop music, as opposed to their older bandmates. And both got that BB 1. And what we can compare is song quality, artist reaction and how the company's response came across into fan spaces.

In terms of the songs, I could write entire essays because at the end of the day, it wouldn't matter. It's all subjective. There is no rule that says a number one song should be about some personal experience, or the singer should have writing credits on it. And I also can't take away my subjectivity. I will chose Like Crazy over a song that not only sounds like a Bieber tune from years ago, but also has lyrics as if they were written by the boys from Larry Clark's Kids.

As to the reaction, Jimin did exactly what I expected him to do. He was humble, grateful and emotional and we saw that when he turned on the livestream. It's what makes him who he is and how he always behaves. As opposed to that, Jungkook wanted to be appear cool. And for what? Especially when later he said how excited he actually was but he refrained from expressing that. Where's the authenticity that he seeks so much through his livestreams? Because he released a song about sex for which he never officially performed live the explicit version, that means that the attitude should match that? I know the next day he was live and he was really nice. But that entire event is tainted in my mind with this almost expectation and confidence that he'll get that no. 1 and after he got the western validation, they decided to remember there's fans at home too and went to Inkigayo.

Which leads me to the last point that shows the obvious bias and preference that cannot simply be denied when it comes to BH. It's even more obvious because the entire BTS brand was that there are no favorites, which is not the same strategy as with other companies and groups. And now, all of a sudden, there is. It's great that BH celebrates an artist's success and they can immediately put on a show. But it doesn't justify how the first one to have the achievement was ignored. I have to admit, I was happy when Jimin got his no. 1 because I thought it only meant more promotions, more Jimin, more of everything. Just to be left utterly confused.

I've put that all in the past and I really try not to get too emotionally involved because as an individual, it has no bearing on my personal life and it doesn't have that many negative effects on my fan engagement.

I side eye Jungkook for how he presents himself in official promotions, but then he goes live and all of a sudden, it's the Jungkook that I'm used to. The guy who is a dork and funny and grateful to his fans. The one who cries hearing fan songs and who still beats himself up for hours because he messed up a song. I do criticize some of his actions and statements, but I'm not slandering him. The guy seems like a genuinely nice person and I still like him. He's still one of my biases for many reasons. But me having this reaction to content catered specifically for fans to create a more intimate connection is something BH was always good at. We only have to look at all the BTS footage out there. They've perfected the way in which personality comes first a lot of the times. It's what draws fans in (aside from music) and what keeps them interested. I'm part of that.

I'm convinced that it's most likely that a Jungkook fan or army or whoever disagrees with me, will read all this and believe I hate Jungkook. Which would be a shame because all I'm trying to do is explain how complex this situation is. It's never as black and white as solo stans would like everyone to believe and it's not a debate that can be generalized and tossed aside as solo talk by the ot7 chorus. I'm sure there are a lot of reasonable people in this fandom still who are able to have more than one thought in their head and see that only through a naunced discussion we can look at facts, see what's an exaggeration and what's false. To be able to distinguish between facts and personal opinion and also to admit that. That's not possible if we're not looking at these people as complex beings, instead of victims and villains.
